In Touch's Photoshopped picture of Bruce Jenner is beyond wrong (PHOTO)

Rumors that Bruce was transitioning from male to female have plagued him for close to two years — back in 2013, stories surfaced that he was having his Adam's apple removed — and while he or his now ex-wife, Kris Jenner, have neither confirmed nor denied what's going on, the gossip mill kept growing louder every time he stepped out with long fingernails (sometimes painted), longer hair and a fleshier chest. Since he is part of the Kardashian clan, everyone wants to know what's going on — but this time, one tabloid took it way too far.

Bruce Jenner

"He will come clean in 2015 about transitioning," the mag claims a source told them. "This is his year of coming out.

"When Bruce goes public, he wants to go big and come out as a transwoman on the cover of The Advocate, the ultimate LGBT magazine. He wants to look as glamorous as possible — full makeup with a bold wardrobe."

More: Bruce Jenner's country club buddies are bullying him over his looks

In Touch's current cover and the accompanying article is just beyond insulting to Bruce. Whether or not he is transitioning is not the point. Photoshopping (poorly done) makeup on him mocks transgendered people everywhere — and while Bruce has not commented on this current slap in the face, Kris is said to be absolutely livid.

"It's just mean to do whether or not it's true," a source told TMZ she said to friends, adding that she is outraged at the mag.

Jessica Chastain did a sexual gum commercial before she was famous (VIDEO)

More: Jessica Chastain needs to do more about bullying

Taking it back to the '80s, Kimmel and Chastain parodied an old Wrigley's gum commercial, showing the proper way to enjoy the flavor and chew. And apparently there's a right way and a very wrong way.

Kimmel explained the point of the fake informative commercial is to "instruct actors how to chew gum correctly in Wrigley's commercials."

And while Kimmel initially showed a portion of the footage, Chastain was quick to call out her offense that Kimmel didn't remember she, too, was in the video with him back in the day. "I completely remember," Chastain tells him. "I was so excited. I got my SAG card, and we, like, hung out all day. We had lunch and everything."

More: Acting is the only thing Jessica Chastain knows

"You taught people to load?" Kimmel asks her, nearly unable to believe it himself as excitement lights his face.

Luckily, the entire commercial was on hand for everyone's viewing pleasure.

The clip shows the proper way to "load" gum and then the correct facial features one should use upon loading and first experiencing the flavor.

Kimmel excelled at the perfect chewing gum face while Chastain needed some help. She swirled the "load" around on her tongue, pulling the gum until it snapped on her face. She didn't seem to mind, happily chomping on the piece still left in her mouth while another hung off her cheek. (Yup... it's really meant to be that dirty.)

More: Why Ben Affleck may be feeling jealous when he sees Interstellar

Her overindulged enthusiasm ends with an awkward upright bicycle ride with Kimmel all up in her inappropriate places and some gum in her beautiful red hair.

Katy Perry, John Mayer were spotted doing something very exciting together

More: Katy Perry reportedly plans to diss Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl

After their third breakup in February last year, Katy Perry and John Mayer are reportedly hanging out again… and holding hands and kissing. Us Weekly reports they double-dated on Saturday night with Girls star, Allison Williams and her fiancé, Ricky Van Veen, in Hollywood. According to the mag, multiple reports say they kissed and held hands at the table.

"They never stopped talking and being friendly while they were broken up," a source close to the on-again, off-again couple told E! News. "They are really excited about being together right now and spending as much time as possible… they have spent almost every night together this week."

And it sounds like it's true — the "Who You Love" singers were spotted together having dinner last weekend, too.

More: John Mayer will rock your world with his Beyoncé cover

Perry had been linked to DJ Diplo, but breakup rumors started circulating when she was accompanied by another rapper, Riff Raff, on the red carpet at last year's MTV Video Music Awards. The two even wore matching outfits.

Perry and Mayer first started dating back in 2012, according to Us, but they broke up after only a few months. They were back together by the end of that year and broke up in March of 2013. In June of 2013, they coupled up yet again, until a moving van picking up Mayer's belongings from Perry's Los Angeles home seemed to signal a permanent breakup in February of 2014.

They've both spoken publicly about their romance woes. Serial dater, Mayer, told Ellen DeGeneres after one of their breakups, "Coupling is a tricky thing," and Perry, who was previously married to actor, Russell Brand, told Harper's Bazaar, "I had to learn. I want to mommy everyone. I want to take care of them. I want to save them, and I forget myself in the meantime."

What 100 calories of your favorite bar drink looks like

1. Vodka soda vs. vodka tonic

For instance, what do you think has more calories: A vodka soda or vodka tonic?

SheKnows Expert Nutritionist and author of The One One One Diet, Rania Batayneh clears that up, and it's exactly the opposite of what you'd expect. "Soda water is simply carbonated water, so it contains no calories."

It also doesn't have any sugar, where vodka tonics weigh in at 83 calories and 21.5 grams of sugar per serving (and there's often more than that a serving size in a typical-sized cocktail). Moral of this story? Vodka soda gives you more booze bang for your buck without overloading on calories. Of course, that's only if you order an actual vodka soda without substituting soda water for Sprite.

What 100 calories of vodka soda and tonics look like

2. Vodka soda vs. vodka cranberry

Vodka soda still wins because when you add juice, you add sugar. If you want the sweeter taste that comes with vodka tonic or vodka cranberry cocktails, Batayneh recommends sticking with soda water but asking the bartender to add macerated berries or few drops of juice.

What 100 calories of vodka cranberry looks like

3. Beer vs. wine

What if you're a beer and wine junkie like myself? A standard bottle of beer is 12 ounces and you reach 100 calories of light beer at 12.5 ounces, whereas a standard pour of wine is 5 ounces and you reach 100 calories of wine at 4 ounces. So if we're getting nitpicky, which I obviously am, you get more alcohol for your calories with a bottle of light beer.

Lucky for my drinking habits Batayneh says, "A standard serving of wine (5 ounces) and most standard beers are healthy choices — in moderation!"

What 100 calories of beer and wine looks like

4. Light beer vs. dark beer

Now is not the time to be a Guinness lover, but dark beer definitely packs more calories; I guess this is how brands like Bud Light made a name for themselves. The breakdown? You can drink 5 more ounces of light beer than dark beer before you reach 100 calories per beverage. You just have to decide if drinking 5 less ounces of a beer you like more is actually worth what you save in calories.

What 100 calories of beer looks like

5. The full infographic: What 100 calories of common alcoholic beverages looks like

And a final tip from Batayneh on getting the healthiest cocktail ever: "Cocktails made with one standard serving of liquor and low or no-calorie mixers are generally the healthiest option because they contain the least amount of non-nutritive calories."

Just always conssider whether the nutritive ingredients in your cocktail are worth the extra calories and you have a good rule of thumb. Oh, and everything in moderation! Easier said than done, right?

Nikon chooses gay dads as the all-American family for new campaign (VIDEO)

Kordale and Kaleb video 1a

If you are not familiar with Kordale and Kaleb Lewis, here's a little background on their heartwarming story. Just a year ago, the dads rose to near-instant internet fame after posting the aforementioned photo of the pair doing their daughters' hair before school.

Viral dad pic

Viral dad pic

It's hard to say exactly what it was about this picture that almost broke the internet. The men are gorgeous. They are showing their sensitive sides by doing their daughters' hair before school. Oh yeah, and they just happen to be black and gay.

Haters and internet trolls aside, the viral photo was celebrated by most for breaking several antiquated stereotypes, related to gender, race, sexuality and what a typical nuclear family looks like. The good comments in support of the photo were good, and the bad comments were despicable — tainted with ignorant homophobia and racism we would all like to forget.

Thanks to Nikon's new campaign, Kordale and Kaleb are getting another chance to show what an all-American family looks like. The Nikon "I Am Generation Image" video captures the Atlanta dads with their three kids, Desmiray, Malia and Kordale Jr., along with the family dog, Pebbles. In the video, the Lewis family can be seen doing all the day-to-day stuff that your average American family does — waking up at 5:30 a.m., eating breakfast, doing their daughters' hair and sending the kids off to school.

I am generation image

I am generation image

What sticks out about this beautiful family is not how normal they are — since that is easy to overlook. It is how willing they are to share themselves with the rest of the world. Kordale and Kaleb are two busy parents trying to raise their kids the best they can. They aren't obligated to put themselves in the public eye and face what is sure to be an onslaught of criticism, but they do it anyway.

As Kaleb explains, image is a powerful thing, proven by the couple's first viral Instagram pic. He says, "I think this camera, as we grow and as the family grows, will better be able to explain to everybody what type of family we are. We as parents bring kids into the world, and we have to guide them to be better people than we are, and we want them to be better people than we are. We want them to succeed and do things that we weren't able to do. Those kids have our heart."

Long gone are the days when the typical family consists of a dad, mom and two kids who live behind a white picket fence. This is the type of ad that all parents need to see because these kids could be in your child's classroom. Acceptance of all kinds of families starts at home. Kudos to Kordale, Kaleb and Nikon for showing us what the new normal looks like.

10 Ways to trick your kids into eating vegetables

$

Most of this parenting trickery revolves around the "good for you" things no kid ever wants to do. Yes, it is very important for my toddler to wear his pants to day care, but he never wants to. So, I tell him they are magic pants that will give him superpowers. So sue me.

The same goes with the epic dinnertime battle that happens every night, without fail. Every parent has been there before. The begging and pleading to eat just a few healthy bites can be exhausting.

Thankfully there are 10 healthy hacks you can use to trick your kids into eating their veggies.

1. Bake them as a treat

Zucchini and carrot cookies for a snack? Yes, please!

2. Blend them up in a smoothie

Strawberry, banana and… kale? Your tot will never know the difference.

3. Cover them in cheese

No kid has ever turned down broccoli and cheese, ever.

4. Dress them up

Kevin The Office

If your child is on to your sneaky ways, then you're going to have to pull out the stops. Make an Elmo face out of tomatoes, craft an apple-slice-and-zucchini-wheel car — do whatever it takes.

5. Mix them up with macaroni

Feeding baby

Make a vow to always throw an extra veggie into classic mac 'n' cheese: peas, broccoli, carrots or even green beans.

6. Send them for lunch

Eating lunch

You'll be surprised how eager your kids are to eat healthy when distracted by friends around the lunch table.

7. Serve something different — very different

Funny baby

Image: Giphy

Sometimes kids are just sick of the same old, same old. You may be surprised to find your kid has a taste for eggplant or spaghetti squash. You never know until you try.

8. Sneak them into a sandwich

Sandwich

Sliced avocado makes the perfect addition to any sandwich, including the kid-favorite grilled cheese. Bonus: Avocado is a superfood, with almost a complete spectrum of nutrients.

9. Spike the spaghetti

Lady and Tramp

Image: Giphy

It's a basic law of physics that kids love spaghetti. Take advantage of that fact by sneaking sautéed veggies into homemade or jarred pasta sauce — try peppers and mushrooms with beans for added protein.

10. When in doubt, puree

Feed the baby

Almost any vegetable makes a great puree you can hide in a favorite dish, like "green" mashed potatoes. Zucchini and carrot purees are a hit because of their naturally sweet flavor.

More: Why The Bachelor girls riding tractors in bikinis shouldn't be on TV

Before the season has even had time to heat up on its own, it may be getting a lot more scandalous, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host is set to take over the show next week, and, according to the promo videos for the special episode, he has game-changing plans for Chris Soules.

The videos reveal that Kimmel is moving into the The Bachelor mansion and running the show, and he's going to start by putting his own moves on some of the eligible bachelorettes.

"I'm going to help by making love to each one of you," he tells the women. Scandalous!

More: The Bachelor: Every (inappropriate) thought I had during Week 2

One video also tells us Jimmy is in charge of planning the week's dates, which apparently include a trip to Costco. (Who doesn't love free samples? This is genius!) He also has some choice advice for Soules, who host Chris Harrison has already called "the easiest" bachelor ever.

"Try to make love with everyone," Kimmel tells a shocked-looking Chris… in front of one of the girls, who replies, "You know I can hear you."

The video also teases "one big game changer," but it looks like we'll have to wait for the dramatic — and, we're sure, hilarious — week three episode to see what it is. It's clearly a shock to the women, though — in the video, we see one of them emotionally telling the camera, "It's messed up," after Jimmy tells the whole group he has bad news.

1 In 4 women admit to secret eating to avoid guilt and shame

$
0
0

A new poll examined data from 2000 British women and found that eating certain foods in secret was the most common behavior, with more than 60 percent of women admitting they hide while eating foods they think they shouldn't be eating. And really, who hasn't occasionally bought a bar of chocolate with the express intent of enjoying it solo. There's something almost hedonistic about not only indulging in a treat but eating it however you want, without the pressure of prying eyes.

And as long as you're enjoying the treat and it's an occasional splurge, the experts say it's likely not a problem. The issue, however, with most secret eaters is that we (and yes I include myself in this group) aren't eating out of selfish joy but rather fear of being judged — a fear that is sadly justified in our society which has practically made a sport out of watching women eat and criticizing them for it.

I once had a waitress friend group-text a picture she'd taken subversively of a table of overweight patrons gorging on appetizers. Other friends laughed and rolled their eyes but my face burned in embarrassment for these people, unaware that their happy hour bliss had turned them into a punchline for strangers. As someone who is acutely aware of when other people are watching me eat, I suppose I should just be grateful she hadn't posted the picture on the internet.

So it's understandable to me why people might eat alone out of shame or guilt. But it's not just eating alone that's the problem. The poll also found that one in six women have stashes of treats hidden around their house, one in three bury the evidence of eaten food under other trash and one in 10 will resort to eating treats in the bathroom if nowhere else private is available. It probably goes without saying that eating on the toilet is a good indication you're not truly enjoying your food. And it's not like anyone's hiding to eat celery sticks.

The saddest stat is that the vast majority of women are hiding their eating from their husbands, boyfriends or significant others — the people who are supposed to love us the most and love us regardless of whether or not we can eat an entire 1-pound bag of M&M's in a sitting. Women reported eating in secret most often when they felt sad or stressed out, which means that they are running to the embrace of Little Debbie instead of their lover.

"This absolutely confirms that, for many, eating has nothing to do with food, it's all about what's going on in the mind," says Denise Welch, of LighterLife, the company who sponsored the poll. "Gorging on food you're not supposed to be eating, whether that's because you're dieting, or you don't want to set a bad example to your children does give you a buzz and acts as an instant pick-me-up. But it's short lived, and often followed by guilt."

The experts added that habitual shame-eating in secret can create a very unhealthy relationship with food where instead of seeing it as nourishment we see it as the enemy, setting us up for other disordered eating behaviors like binge eating and purging.

So is secret eating a harmless pastime most women do to relax or is it a sign of darker problems? "If it's a daily occurrence and you are lying to those closest to you about your eating habits then it may be a sign that you need to address it," Says Welch,

Do you ever eat in secret?

How Charlize Theron just crushed the financial gender gap for Hollywood

Set to release in 2016, Universal Pictures' The Huntsman is a prequel to 2012's Snow White and the Huntsman. Both Chris Hemsworth and Charlize Theron will reprise their roles as Eric the Huntsman and Queen Ravenna.

More: No Kristen Stewart in testosterone-fueled Snow White sequel

Last December, however, during the height of the leaked emails that exposed Sony's dark secrets, it came to light that many women, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams included, were paid significantly less than their male counterparts. Theron must have seen her part in The Huntsman as the perfect opportunity to take a stand on gender wage discrimination and we commend her courage to demand to be treated with the same respect and compensation as Hemsworth.

Chris Hemsworth as The Huntsman

According to Page Six, a Hollywood insider said, "Charlize insisted that she get paid the same money as Chris. She has a great track record, so she got the same deal."

More: Sean Penn, Charlize Theron engaged — and it was everything but traditional

Another insider told Page Six, "One knock-on effect from the Sony hacking scandal is that there will be more sensitivity about equal pay for actresses and hiring practices at movie studios."

Can we get a "hallelujah"?

Of course, we think the Sony hacks were abominable, but if there's a silver lining to the travesty that nearly grounded The Interview, it could be that the gender wage gap in Hollywood is finally getting addressed.

So, if Theron is the first woman to openly speak up for equal pay, will other actresses follow? Only time will tell, but we can anticipate Hollywood studios being a bit more sensitive to wage equality, given how poorly Sony looked when its wage gap practice was exposed.

Mom's funeral canceled after pastor realizes she's a lesbian

Maybe they searched through the pages of the Lakewood, Colorado, church's website looking for any reason that this church wouldn't be a good fit to celebrate Collier's life. I know I did. I searched through each page like I have for the churches in my own area when I was trying to find a church that would be safe for my own family to attend. There's nothing there. There's nothing to indicate that this church would reject a person based on their sexuality alone. But that's exactly what they did.

Mother's funeral cancelled

Mother's funeral cancelled

Though the church had the memorial video for days before the service to review, the pastor told the family just moments before the service that they couldn't show a video of Collier's life that included a photo of her proposing to her wife. They agreed to perform the service, but only if the video was edited first. "There could be no indication that Collier was gay," according to The Denver Post.

But Collier was gay. She was married. She and her wife were raising two children together. Most of those in attendance were also members of the gay community. Her family and friends refused to edit the video. They refused to edit Collier's life because of a pastor. Because of a church. They refused to not show it. So they, too, were rejected. The service was moved, just moments before its start, across the street to a much smaller space, a mortuary.

Is this how far we've come? Gays can get married, but when they die, it's OK to close down the funeral moments before it starts because the celebration of the person's life was too gay? I can't accept that.

Gays are tolerated to sit in services, but can't get married in the churches. Gays can place their money in the offering plates, but can't be in leadership, and don't deserve the same respect in their death as their straight allies and enemies do.

It could maybe be one thing if the non-denominational Christian church believed in some kind of ritual at death to provide salvation. Maybe. But they don't. The non-denominational Christian church believes in grace.

This goes beyond love the sinner, hate the sin. This isn't love at all.

But the most notable Oscar snub would have to be Selma. What is critics' deal with Selma? I understand they didn't have the rights to Dr. King's speeches, but geez. David Oyelowo did not receive a Best Actor nod and amazing and crazy talented Ava DuVernay didn't receive a nomination for Best Director. I just don't understand.

Other prominent snubs include the omission of Clint Eastwood for Best Director for American Sniper, Jessica Chastain for Best Supporting Actress in A Most Violent Year, Lorde and Lana Del Rey were left off the list of Best Song for their tunes in Big Eyes and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, respectively. David Fincher wasn't nominated for Gone Girl, and how on earth was The Lego Movie not nominated for Best Animated Feature?

Omgosh.

But there were some pretty amazing films, actors and actresses grabbing up top numbers of nominations. The Grand Budapest Hotel and Birdman led the movie pack with nine nominations each. The Imitation Game nabbed eight nods, while Meryl Streep earned her 19th nomination and Bradley Cooper his third consecutive one.

I guess now we will have to go see Birdman?

Make-ahead homemade baked corn dogs are easy and kid-friendly

In this version, I used all-natural chicken hot dogs and gave them a light coating of a homemade cornbread batter. Baking these dogs rather than deep-frying them in hot oil keeps them healthier and is a much better option than those greasy, high-calorie, store-bought types. I look for organic, all-natural and nitrate-free hot dogs, but feel free to use whatever you can find.

Easy homemade baked corn dogs recipe

These corn dogs are all-natural and baked until golden brown rather than deep-fried in greasy oil. Freeze these homemade dogs for a quick snack by wrapping them up individually in plastic wrap and storing them in freezer bags. Reheat for several minutes in the microwave, or reheat them in the oven.

Yields 12

Prep time: 20 minutes | Bake time: 18 minutes | Total time: 38 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 1 whole egg
  • 12 all-natural, organic chicken hot dogs
  • 12 wooden skewers
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line 2 small baking sheets or 1 large baking sheet with parchment paper, and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking powder and sea salt. Mix well, and make a well in the middle of the bowl.
  3. Add the syrup, buttermilk and the egg.
  4. Using a wire whisk or a fork, mix the batter until smooth and your desired consistency reached. (You want your batter to be thick enough to coat the hot dogs.)
  5. Insert a skewer into the end of each chicken hot dog, and then dip them one by one into the batter.
  6. Lay the coated hot dogs onto the baking sheet, and bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until the cornbread coating is a golden brown color.
  7. Serve warm with mustard or ketchup.

Patrick Stewart acts out the most annoying people on planes (VIDEO)

You can always count on Jimmy Kimmel to make you laugh with a hilarious, ridiculous and over-the-top YouTube video.

This time, he enlisted the help of Sir Patrick Stewart to act out a list compiled by Expedia that chronicles the most annoying airplane passengers you may encounter while flying.

They include the Chatty Charlie, who never shuts up, the stinky foodie who eats that gross meal and stinks up the joint and that guy who seems to continuously, and repeatedly, kick the back of your chair.

We've all been there, and we all always have to resist the urge to test our luck with an air marshal for decking the perpetrator.

Watch the video here.

Dax Shepard's commentary on Kristen Bell's C-section is hilarious (VIDEO)

Shepard spoke more than openly with Ellen DeGeneres about the horrors of Bell's delivery and it might have men everywhere rethinking fatherhood.

More: Kristen Bell reminds us she has an amazing voice with this Christmas song

"So there's a sheet and then they go, 'The baby's here!' Then you peek around the sheet and they're lifting out the baby, but then you notice your wife is completely disassembled. I can see inside of her," Shepard said of his C-section experience.

"I was like, 'It's a girl! Your liver's out, I think. And those are definitely your intestines. And she has... are you all right?! Oh, my God, put her back together correctly.

"After seeing this autopsy, I would rather see a school bus drive out of her vagina," the Parenthood actor joked. "It isn't any worse than seeing your partner flowing over. Guys, I need medication if this happens again."

Of course, Bell might be kissing her husband instead of getting upset, because the message behind his delivery story madness was ultimately that he was worried about his wife the whole time.

"Kristen, God bless her, was in labor for 33 hours," Shepard said during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He said Bell's labor with their first child, Lincoln, was only 15 hours and called that "child's play."

"She got an epidural hour 14 — as you should — and I think dads need something," he continued.

"I deserve something because I was along for the ride," Shepard half joked. "It's still a car crash and I'm in the passenger seat. I'm playing Katy Perry and I'm breaking and I'm rubbing her back and I have fatigue and I think, 'I need something for this. Help me.'"

The proud new dad talks about his three-week old daughter, Delta, with obvious adoration.

"She's very tiny. She's a micro baby," Shepard jokes, using just his fingers to display how big she is. "They're selling those now. I lose her in my pocket very often. That's the only downside of a micro baby. Less milk. Smaller poops. But you will lose them in your pocket."

Frozen 2 wants Jennifer Lawrence, but will she agree to sing?

Jennifer Lawrence stunned audiences with her gutsy a cappella version of "The Hanging Tree" in last year's The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1. In fact, it may have been the most emotionally powerful scene in the movie.

According to HIt Fix, however, Lawrence claims that shooting the scene was "traumatic and awful," adding, "I can't stand singing. The idea of singing in front of people is my biggest fear in the entire world. I cried the day that I did that. I was shaking. I was like, 'I want my mom.' I've never listened to it. When that scene comes on, I plug my ears."

Wow, that's a very strong reaction from a performer who seems so fearless. We don't think she could be any more stressed out! But we guess every star has their Kryptonite and singing seems to be Jennifer's.

So why is Disney so keen on getting Lawrence for the Frozen sequel? Well, we think because she's a pretty good singer, even if she doesn't think so. The only thing we find confusing is that Kristen Bell as Anna and Idina Menzel as Elsa were the perfect combination to create a huge hit. It seems strange that Disney would want to mess with that recipe for success by throwing a new actress into their lucrative winter wonderland.

Also, many Frozen fans feel incredibly loyal to Bell and Menzel and may not want Katniss invading their Nordic adventure world.

So will JLaw do it? We're guessing she'll give Disney the cold shoulder since she has two films currently in pre-prodution: David O. Russell's Joy, about the real-life Joy Mangano — a single mom who became a successful entrepreneur — and X-Men: Apocalypse, where she'll reprise her role as Raven/Mystique.
