Emilia Clarke Got a Makeover That Would Be Daenerys-Approved

There are many things Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke can't mimic about her character Daenerys Targaryen in real life. Like, for example, living in the Middle Ages. Or raising dragons. But Clarke has found a (chic) way to get one step closer to Khaleesi status — her hair.

More: Kit Harington & Emilia Clarke's Cutest Moments Together

In a surprising debut, Clarke shared a selfie on Instagram revealing that after years of donning a silvery wig to portray the "mother of dragons," she finally decided to adopt an icy blonde hue for herself. Her transformation wasn't a solo affair, either. Clarke enlisted the help of her GoT hair pros.

"AAAHHHHHHH SHHHHIIIII****** I done did it.Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know. All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of 'KHALEESI WIG' (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality. #khaleesikicksoff #gameofthrones#cominghomeneverfeltsogood," Clarke shared in the caption.

So what does this new 'do signify for everyone's favorite dragon-charming badass? Production for the eighth and final season of GoT starts in October, so it seems unrealistic Clarke's now-platinum locks will have grown out enough by then to fill out the classic Khaleesi braids.

Perhaps the shorter length will be part of Daenerys' arc in the final season, much as Cersei's pixie cut was this season. Only time will tell, and we've got plenty to waste until the series returns... reportedly in 2019.

The Future of Westworld Is Female & Quite Bloody

While everyone seems to be doing a stellar job of keeping any secrets about Season 2 of Westworld under wraps, the TV gods do occasionally gift fans with snippets of insight about what's to come on HBO's sci-fi western. And judging by the two new morsels of information currently making the rounds, fans won't be disappointed when Season 2 premieres.

More: Evan Rachel Wood Just Let a New Westworld Season 2 Hint Slip

The first bit of insight came by way of series star Tessa Thompson, who plays Charlotte Hale. Her revelation? Women will be stepping it up when Westworld returns.

"The one thing I can say is that it feels like a season where women really rule, where women are king this year... as if they weren't already," Thompson told TV Guide on the 69th Primetime Emmy Awards red carpet.

Although the series did indirectly address the struggles inherent with being women during its first season, it also drew sharp criticism for the way the subject matter materialized — in short, the treatment of women proved less than stellar.

More: What Talulah Riley's Westworld Promotion Means for Season 2

A change of pace could certainly be good news for the incredible female characters (and talent playing them) that fans focused in on as the inaugural season unfolded. These women should be forces to be reckoned with.

This potential shift in the power paradigm is made all the more interesting by another Season 2 "spoiler" garnering attention.

More: Thandie Newton Has Been Undervalued By Hollywood for Too Long

Series co-creator Lisa Joy will be making her directorial debut this season with Episode 4, she revealed at the Emmys. And although Joy had previously admitted to being nervous about making that creative jump, her husband-slash-series-co-creator Jonathan Nolan joked that she came in hot.

"You've made it far more violent and disturbing than we ever intended," he said playfully to her. "It was quite a placid episode, and Lisa has kind of turned it into a bloodbath."

Intriguing, indeed! A volatile turn of events with women rising up? Yep, Westworld's second season already promises to be just as addictive as the first.

Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen Have Split After Nearly a Decade Together

The latest in the depressing trend of major Hollywood breakups, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen have decided to go their separate ways after nearly a decade together. And just in case you still managed to hold onto any hope that love could somehow persevere, a source told Us Weekly, "They are completely, officially done."

More: Rachel Bilson Is (Hopefully) Nashville's New Songstress — Everyone Ready?

The stars, both 36, memorably met on the set of their 2008 film, Jumper, in which Bilson played Christensen's love interest. Their onscreen romance carried over into real life, and the couple was engaged by December of the same year.

However, their courtship wasn't entirely smooth sailing. In 2010, news broke that the notoriously private pair had broken their engagement. Ultimately, though, they quietly reconciled and went on to bring a baby girl named Briar Rose into the world in October of 2014.

More: The Hart of Dixie Conspiracy Theory Is Totally Untrue

Sadly, according to Us Weekly's source, Bilson and Christensen are unlikely to reconcile in the future following this split. "She's full-time back in L.A. He's in Toronto," the insider said. "They've been on the outs for a couple of months."

Both Bilson and Christensen have burgeoning careers to throw their focus into during this difficult time in their personal lives. Bilson, who starred on the series Hart of Dixie for four years, is currently starring in the country music series Nashville. Christensen has one film, Numb, at the Edge of the End, in post-production and is filming another, Little Italy.

Jessica Alba‘s voluminous, beachy waves are some of the most sought-after in the hair game. In a new interview with Byrdie, the actor-turned-skin care mogul revealed that the secret to her coveted waves — and decompressing at the end of the day — is simply nighttime showers. “I like to take a shower at night. I feel like taking a shower or taking a bath, it just kind of like — I wind down,” Alba said.

And though sleeping with wet hair can be annoying to some, Alba embraces the “lioness” hair texture she wakes up to — with the help of a couple of products, of course. To amp up her morning hair texture, Alba sprays a couple of spritzes of leave-in conditioner and sea salt spray before going to bed. “I don’t even mind going to bed with my hair wet. I think it’s fine,” she said. “I wake up with lioness hair, but it’s fine — especially if you spray some leave-in conditioner and a little sea salt spray before you go to bed. It gives you that extra volume and texture.”

Leonard and Penny may have started out as the it couple on The Big Bang Theory, but there's no doubt that Sheldon and Amy's relationship is the one fans love today.

More: CBS Finally Introduces Us to Young Sheldon & TBBT Fans, It's Great

Their coupling is unique to say the least, and it definitely doesn't go without its ups and downs. They seem to argue more than not, but that's what you get with Sheldon Cooper. All that said, they truly adore one another and are absolutely meant to be.

As infuriating as Sheldon can be, not to mention demeaning, when it comes to Amy, he has grown as a person thanks to their relationship. She has transformed him into someone who is now able to kiss her, touch her, have sex with her and say, "I love you" without hesitation — OK, well, maybe a little bit every now and again.

Season 11 ended with Sheldon proposing to Amy, and there's a good chance their relationship will mature even more, though fans will have to wait until the Season 12 premiere to see exactly what happens. Until then, let's take a walk down memory lane and look at Shamy's best moments throughout the history of TBBT so far.

At their "prom," Amy was getting up the nerve to tell Sheldon she loved him, but before she could, he sweetly said, "I love you too." This is one of his most genuine moments.

5. The storage unit

When we learned Sheldon had a ring to propose to Amy, well, it was shocking to say the least. However, at the same moment, Amy also broke up with him. As much of a bummer as that was, it was wonderful to see Amy stand up for herself and for what she deserved from their relationship.

Fergie Explains Why She & Josh Duhamel Finally Announced Their Split

Updated Sept. 20, 7:30 a.m. PT: Fergie and Josh Duhamel may have just announced their split, but their relationship has apparently been over for a while, as Fergie just revealed in an interview with People. She commented that it was "weird" pretending to still be together for so long, and that's why they decided to finally make the announcement.

"We're great friends, we love each other so much, and it just got to the point where it was getting a little weird," she said. "There's no perfect time, so we just decided to do it."

After the eight years of marriage, that's a little heartbreaking to read, but we hope it's what's best for them.

Original story:

It's another sad news day on the Hollywood love front. In a year that has already been rocked with some seriously heartbreaking splits, another seemingly solid celebrity couple is calling it quits — Josh Duhamel and Fergie just announced they have separated.

In a joint statement to People, the couple said, "With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year. To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."

Duhamel and Fergie — or "Fergs," as he affectionately called her — wed in January 2009 and have a 4-year-old son, Axl.

But despite the beautiful life the couple clearly created with each other, they did have to weather their fair share of tabloid fodder. Only nine months into their marriage, a stripper came forward to claim she'd had a one-night stand with Duhamel in an Atlanta hotel.

Duhamel and Fergie both vehemently denied the allegations, with Duhamel's rep stating, "This is not the first nor will it be the last time that a stripper was paid a large amount of money to sell a false story about a celebrity. This story is absolutely ridiculous."

Jennifer Aniston's BFFs Got Together & Argued Over Who the Best Friend Is

$

There seems to be some confusion about a very pressing matter, and the only way it could be hashed out was on Ellen. Naturally, Ellen DeGeneres, Reese Witherspoon and Justin Theroux all think they're Jennifer Aniston's best friend. It's easy enough to do because Aniston seems like a totally delightful and affable person who is friends with everyone, so why wouldn't this trio of equally delightful people feel like they are her one and only bestie? Of course, it's all in good fun, but watching DeGeneres, Witherspoon and Theroux duke it out over who is closest to Aniston is still a hoot to watch, so you'll get no complaints from me in talking about who came out on top.

More: Jennifer Aniston to Brad Pitt: New Phone, Who Dis?

The faux dispute began when Witherspoon appeared on Ellen and the subject of her new TV show with Aniston came up. DeGeneres led into the subject by saying Witherspoon was working with Aniston, saying, "I know about this because Jen is, you know, of course a close friend of mine."

Reese Witherspoon Aniston BFF Ellen

Reese Witherspoon Aniston BFF Ellen

This remark got a quick reply from Witherspoon, who in jest told DeGeneres, "Right. I mean, she's better friends with me, but..." which only led the two women to go back and forth, delightfully riffing on who is actually better friends with Aniston.

More: Jennifer Aniston: "It’s Up to Us What Makes Us Happy"

Sure, DeGeneres and Witherspoon may be on a texting basis with Aniston, and thus, they might feel a bit of a closeness to the actor, but if there's one strong contender for the title of Jennifer Aniston's BFF, it's probably Theroux, aka her husband. Turns out, that's how Theroux himself feels in this whole dispute, and he's not wrong for feeling that way.

Justin Theroux Ellen Aniston Best Friend

Justin Theroux Ellen Aniston Best Friend

While appearing on Ellen to talk about his new film, The Lego Ninjago Movie, DeGeneres once again brought up the BFF question by asking him to settle whether he knew whom Aniston considered her best friend. Surprisingly, Theroux chose to throw his own hat in the ring rather than confirm whether it was Witherspoon or DeGeneres. "Well, I'm one of Jen's best friends," Theroux remarked. Of course he'd say that; he's married to her, which DeGeneres rightfully pointed out.

More: Ellen DeGeneres Was Adorably Awkward at 15 Years Old, & We Love It

Theroux also made the fair point that he couldn't definitively say who would come out on top because "[he'd] get in trouble" with Aniston too. I guess for now we'll just have to keep in mind that Aniston definitely, totally and absolutely has more than one best friend.

Is My Eldest Daughter Eclipsing Her Sister?

Survivor banner

Welcome to “Survivor,” in which author Catherine Newman tries to answer your questions about adolescents and why they’re like that — and how to love them despite everything.

Have a question for Newman? Send it to her here.

Question:

I'm afraid my younger daughter, M (age 12) is being eclipsed by my older daughter, A (age 14). A has things she is passionate about; M really doesn't. A will have long conversations about world events, current issues and teenage worries, while M just sits and listens. If A isn't around, it feels very hard to make conversation with M. A has always been very responsible and mature for her age; M is a little more flighty, though she does well in school without any prompting or assistance from me.

She is my child, and I love her with all my heart, but she is harder to connect with because of the distance she keeps. I think she feels this too. I don't want her to feel left out — or that her sister always takes the spotlight. Any advice?

Answer:

Oh, that’s a little heart-squeeze-y, your question. Not to be all Romeo and Juliet, but does the moon wish it were the sun? God, I hope not. I hope it loves everything about its quiet, luminous, reflective moon life. Even if what we’re more accustomed to is the squinty, showy brightness of the sun.

More: Why I'm Not Getting My Kid the New iPhone

I think we have a slight tendency to think of our older kids as normal. Not so much normal in the sense of "not-abnormal," but normal in the sense of "the norm." These kids pave the way and set the standards, and the kids that come after can seem strange to us, regardless of the configurations of everybody’s personality. When my 14-year-old was 2 and tantruming, I was mystified because Seventeen had never, ever. “What the...?” I asked, and people responded, “Terrible twos? Not ringing any bells?” Right. But it just seemed so strange.

In your family, it sounds like you might also be on the side of cultural bias toward extroverts (which it sounds like A is) and against introverts (which it sounds like M might be). Parents don’t tend to worry about extroverts — those engaging kids who always seem to have a red carpet rolling out in front of them as they move through the world. But the quiet kids, the less social kids, the kids in their rooms with a book and the cat... those kids can make us fret.

I wonder if job No. 1 might be acceptance: a full and deep understanding that M is OK in her differentness from A. And then you can move forward from this place to see if there are ways that you can make sure she’s happy while understanding at the same time that her happiness might look different from what you’re used to. She might already be happier than you know. But of course, she might not be.

Your question troubled my kids a little bit to be honest. Seventeen said, “It’s sort of delicate because you don’t want to draw attention to it. Or set it up as a comparison. You don’t want to make it seem like what you’re going for is the younger kid getting to be more like the older kid. That could feel really shitty.” Indeed. (Not that you were planning to communicate this, by the way.)

More: 10 Design Tips for a Bedroom That Grows With Your Kid

Seventeen also remembered that he didn’t really do anything outside of school when he was 12; he didn’t see friends, participate in any clubs or teams or really do much of anything besides hang out with us. “Honestly?” he said, “It would have been an issue if you guys had made me feel like it was an issue. Which you didn’t. The facts themselves don’t really make up a problem.”

Everybody felt like it might be nice for your family if M got some more one-on-one time so she could shine a little more brightly. Fourteen thinks this is a bit of a delicate proposition. “See if there’s a way that, without making some annoying scheduled mom-time or whatever, you could try to spend more time just the two of you. Maybe there are activities she might be interested in or a movie she wants to see that A doesn’t. She might even have interests you don’t know about.”

Seventeen thinks that the key is keeping it light. “Not, 'You never do anything, so I signed you up for computer class,' but just going out to dinner or something. Something fun. Something that makes her feel more confident.” Also, Fourteen thinks that you should get a dog. Because a dog always thinks you’re great.

More: Raising an Extroverted Kid Is So Much Harder When You're an Introvert

“It’s OK to be different” seemed to be their main message for you and M both. And Fourteen summed it up kind of perfectly, I thought: “This kid is pretty young,” she said. “Think of a year from now — everything will be different, and you can reevaluate it then. Kids go through phases. It could resolve itself.” And you won’t even need your eclipse glasses anymore.

Woke Dad Jimmy Kimmel Trashes GOP's Health Care Bill

Rad dad Jimmy Kimmel has, understandably, had it up to here with the GOP. The late-night host spoke out against the proposed Republican health care bill — and clapped back at Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy — on Sept. 19.

What's the deal with Cassidy? He was a guest on Kimmel's show in May, and he swore to Kimmel that he'd be part of the creation of a health care system that would meet "the Kimmel Test." And then he turned around and supported an Affordable Care Act, often called Obamacare, repeal bill, infuriating many supporters of affordable health care — including Kimmel.

This issue of health care hits close to home for Kimmel, whose baby son, Billy, now 4 months old, needed heart surgery soon after birth. Kimmel spoke about his son's harrowing operation and openly praised the ACA on his show — before Cassidy's visit — and the desperate need for better access to health care for those struggling to just get by.

After Cassidy's flip-flopping on the issue, Kimmel let him have it. "He got a lot of credit and attention for coming off like a rare, reasonable voice in the Republican Party when it came to health care," Kimmel fumed on his show, accusing the senator of lying. Check out the video.

Some have savaged Kimmel on social media for talking health care in the first place, accusing him of politicizing his son's health issues.

But on Tuesday night, Kimmel took on the critics, saying, "Before you post a nasty Facebook message saying I’m politicizing my son’s health problems, I want you to know: I am politicizing my son’s health problems because I have to... My family has health insurance; we don’t have to worry about this, but other people do. So, you can shove your disgusting comments where your doctor won’t be giving you a prostate exam once they take your health care benefits away."

Interestingly, Kimmel's passionate take on health care and his son's struggles have even helped mend his long-standing feud with Jay Leno. Kimmel also took to Twitter to implore fans to take action against Cassidy's proposed plan to gut health care.

Billy Bush Is Splitting From His Wife, Sydney Davis, After 20 Years Together

It's been a year of professional upheaval for Billy Bush, and now, his personal life is apparently suffering as well. It's just been announced that Bush and his wife of 20 years, Sydney Davis, are separating, at least for now. It's unclear why the pair split, although it's not tough to imagine speculation will arise that it's because of the infamous "locker room talk" audio that was leaked in October 2016.

A rep for Bush told The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday that he and Davis have gone their separate ways, though the split may not be permanent.

"They have separated for the moment to evaluate their life together," the rep said. "They love each other and their children deeply and are committed to a bright future."

After the leak of that Access Hollywood tape that showed Bush laughing along while then-Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump bragged about being able to sexually assault women because he was famous, he was fired from his position on Today. There have also been reports about how his family responded to the controversy, including one that said Davis was "furious." Bush denies that claim, though, and says Davis supported him "the whole way through."

"She was very understanding," he said. "She knows very well the man she married and who I am."

But Bush has spoken himself about having to explain his actions to his 16-year-old daughter, Mary, who called him in tears after hearing the tapes. "I said, 'Mary, it's going to be OK. You know, don't worry,'" he said. "And she said, 'No. Why were you laughing at the things that he was saying on that bus? Why were you playing along with it, Dad? It wasn't funny.'"

Neither Bush nor Davis has publicly commented on their split, so we can only speculate about whether the "locker room talk" tapes played a part.

Olivia Munn Actually Paid Her Way Into Ocean's Eight

Olivia Munn might seem like someone who would demand a high price tag for film appearances, but that wasn't the case for her cameo in the all-lady reboot of Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Eight. Munn just revealed during an interview with Entertainment Weekly Radio that she actually ended up paying money to make the appearance.

More: 9 Gloriously Strange Reasons We Love Olivia Munn

"It actually cost me money to be part of Ocean’s Eight," Munn said.

She appears in a scene that takes place at the Met Gala, which means it's full of stars who are dressed and made up to the nines. Getting that fancy for one scene is what ended up costing Munn big time. She says she was required to pay for her own wardrobe, hair and makeup for the scene.

More: Olivia Munn Restricts Her Social Media Amid Aaron Rodgers Breakup

"They’re like 'Do your own glam,' and I got the dress and all that and then you submit the bills for it because I’m part of your movie. And then they’re [the producers] like, ‘Oh no, the bills come right back to you,'" she explained. Warner Bros., the studio behind Ocean's Eight, didn't respond to Entertainment Weekly's requests for comment about this whole situation.

Considering the all-female reboot is all about girl power, this is more than a little messed up. Did the male stars who had cameos end up having to pay? Since they generally require just a tuxedo and little if any hair and makeup, we can't imagine their bills coming in as high. So did whatever fee they were paid for their appearances cover their costs? We have some serious questions about this.

Munn, the perpetual good sport that she is, doesn't harbor any hard feelings, though. She went on to say she's "just as excited about it as everybody else."

Getting anxious around flying in an airplane is not unusual, but Jennifer Lawrence's reaction to that fear is particularly intense.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lawrence talked about her fear of not being able to control herself and gave the example of how she feels when she flies.

"I’ve recently had problems with plane anxiety and it’s really similar," she said of the extremely raw, emotional acting required of her in her new movie Mother! "I’m not afraid of the airplane, I’m afraid of me on the airplane and losing control of myself."

There's no question that Prince William will someday become the King of England. The only question that does remain is when he'll take over the throne. "It’s no secret that she and Charles have had a prickly relationship at times," he explained. "When William became a teenager, she would have him at Windsor Castle and would open the state boxes and guide him through the papers. It was William’s constitutional education."

Now that Elizabeth's husband, Prince Philip, has retired from public duty at age 96, there's yet another question: Will William appear at more engagements at the Queen's side? That's what some insiders are saying, even as William is busy preparing for the arrival of his third child.

"He will be more accessible — he has to be for a modern age," one Palace insider told People. "More of a movie star and less of the mystique."

There's no doubt that Will is wildly popular — probably more so than his father. We can't wait for him to be king, but we know the Royal Family will make the decision that's best for England in the end.

Gordon Ramsay Just Showed Us His Perfect American Breakfast

Gordon Ramsay might be known for his wild behavior in the kitchen on TV, but I'll be damned if the man doesn't know how to cook.

He recently released a totally mouthwatering video showing viewers how to make his fave American breakfast — eggs baked in hash browns with a side of brown sugar-glazed bacon. And for those of you who are wondering how anyone could prefer this to a full English breakfast, Ramsay laid down some surprising fighting words: "The best breakfasts in the world are always in America."

Quite the compliment coming from a Brit!

The recipe is pretty simple, especially after watching his video. So if you're like me and the sound of this dish has you drooling, you can whip it up as a simple breakfast-for-dinner tonight.

The steps are pretty straightforward.

First, you grate your Yukon gold potatoes and onion, season with salt, pepper, olive oil and cayenne pepper, then set them in a colander and squeeze out all the water. By doing so, you ensure that once you put the potato mixture in the pan, it'll get crispy instead of steaming.

Get your pan nice and hot, add olive oil, and spread your potato mixture out in an even, thin layer, pressing it with a spoon so it has as much contact with the pan as possible. Cut a few knobs of butter, and poke them down until they hit the bottom of the skillet — this will help the onions in the mix caramelize.

Flip the hash browns. Then, crack some eggs on top, sprinkle on some cayenne, and bake in the oven for six to eight minutes. The eggs will cook, and the bottom of the hash browns will continue to get crispy.

Now, onto the bacon, which I think we can agree is the best part of any breakfast.

Ramsay uses some nice, thick bacon, first adding brown sugar, olive oil, salt, pepper and butter to a skillet, then adding the bacon and cooking until it's coated in a brown sugar glaze.

Take the hash browns out of the oven and top them with the bacon. When you serve it, each person will have a savory-sweet plate of crispy hash browns, runny egg yolk and caramelized bacon to nosh on.

You know what? I'm starting to regret having oatmeal for breakfast. If you're left as hungry as I am by this description, watch the video to see how it's done.

Rosie O'Donnell and her adoptive daughter Chelsea Alliegro have had a strained relationship for years. And now, just over a week after O'Donnell's ex-wife Michelle Rounds died in an apparent suicide, things don't seem to be any better for their relationship — O'Donnell just sent several tweets that look like she's accusing Alliegro of trying to profit off Rounds' death.

Soon after news broke that Rounds had died, Alliegro did an interview with The Daily Mail, announcing that she's expecting her first child with her husband, Nick Alliegro, who she met in a Dunkin' Donuts and married three months later in July 2016.

Only hours later, O'Donnell started tweeting. Her first tweet included throwback photos and videos of Alliegro as a child and the caption, "a dog u gave away... ur sister on ur birthday last year... u want no part of me... stop doing interviews kid."

Emma Stone may have a new movie to promote, but that isn't stopping her from discussing the importance of mental health. During a stop on The Late Show last night, Stone told host Stephen Colbert that she has been dealing with anxiety for most of her life, adding that she "benefitted in a big way from therapy.”

“I was a very, very, very anxious child and I had a lot of panic attacks,” she said.

In addition to therapy, Stone said acting and doing improv comedy helped her deal with her anxiety. And while she still has anxiety to this day, she told Colbert that she no longer suffers from panic attacks.

Earlier this year, Stone participated in a video campaign for the Child Mind Institute about how she manages her anxiety.

“It has always been something that I’ve lived with and it flares up in big ways at different times in my life,” Stone said in the video. “Sometimes while it’s happening, like while I’m in a phase of big turmoil, it feels like it’s never gonna end — but it does.”

We're glad to hear Stone has her anxiety under control and are grateful that she's working to help normalize the conversation around mental health.

3 Companies That Are Changing How We Think of Menstrual Products

If you’re a queergender nonconforming or trans person who gets their period, finding a menstrual product that’s inclusive of your gender identity can be a serious undertaking. Buying something that’s labeled “feminine hygiene” can be an uncomfortable and even dangerous experience when you don’t present as female. The act of getting your basic needs met should not include feeling like you should/shouldn’t look a certain way. (See: the need for gender-neutral bathrooms.)

Fortunately, the conversation around who gets a period is changing (cisgender folks, you play a vital role in furthering that conversation and modeling gender-inclusive language), and now there are more menstrual products available for folks who menstruate. The products aren’t labeled according to the gender binary, and are instead designed to help you feel like your best and most authentic self during your period.

These products are invested in making that happen.

Pyramid Seven

Chicago-based and queer-identified Michelle Janayea and Zipporah Jarmon created underwear for people with periods who were sick of being limited to wearing feminine underwear that wasn’t reflective of their gender identity. After Jarmon bled through a pair of panties, she went home and started sketching pictures of boxer briefs that could accommodate a menstrual pad, tampon, liner or cup. “The fabric is organic cotton with jersey stretch for if you have curves and hips. Also open and inclusive,” said Jarmon. Pyramid Seven‘s underwear, which ranges in sizes from XS to XL, is currently sold out, and the company is in the process of restocking.

Aunt Flow

Instead of "women," on Aunt Flow’s website, you’ll find the word "menstruators," and "people," an indication of founder Claire Coder’s investment in everyone who gets a period having access to the products they need. In addition to acknowledging the socio-economic realities that prevent people from being able to afford menstrual products (they aren’t covered by food stamps or WIC), Coder and her team are invested in the quality of the tampons and pads Aunt Flow distributes. The products are biodegradable, FDA-approved and made of organic cotton.

How it works: You customize a box of pads or tampons for yourself, pick an organization to donate a box to (like Gracehaven, an anti-sex-trafficking organization), and boom — you’ve made menstrual products accessible to countless folks who need them, while supporting an organization who’s serious about helping to dismantle both the gender binary assumptions and taboos around menstruation.

Lunette

Lunette is in the business of menstrual cups and menstrual cup accessories like cleansing wipes as well as an aromatherapy oil that’s designed to ease your mind and body when you’re feeling like garbage at a particular time of the month. You will find the word “woman” on Lunette’s website, but you will also find a statement about inclusivity and the phrase “everyone with a uterus.” Lunette’s blog is also a great source for learning about everything from toxic shock syndrome to the current state of advertising for menstrual products (spoiler: It’s dismal). Head over there immediately for a comprehensive and super-accessible article about gender, periods, the importance of language and concrete ways we can change how we talk about bodies and sexuality without falling into the trap of gender essentialism.

Leonardo DiCaprio is such a bae. Aside from being an Oscar-winning (finally) actor and total heartthrob, he's also on a one-man mission to save the planet from climate change and pollution. And he's not like those activists who are all talk and no action. DiCaprio actually puts his money where his mouth is.

His foundation just donated a whopping $20 million in grants to 100 organizations worldwide that are working to fight climate change. The grants focus on six areas of concern according to The Hollywood Reporter: climate change, wildlife and landscape conservation, marine life and ocean conservation, innovative solutions, indigenous rights and the California program.

"We are proud to support the work of over 100 organizations at home and abroad," DiCaprio said during a speech at Yale University announcing the grants. "These grantees are active on the ground, protecting our oceans, forests and endangered species for future generations — and tackling the urgent, existential challenges of climate change."

He continued, "There exist today many proven technologies in renewable energy, clean transportation and sustainable agriculture that we can begin to build a brighter future for all of us. Our challenge is to find new ways to power our lives, employ millions of people and turn every individual into an advocate for clean air and drinkable water. We must demand that politicians accept climate science and make bold commitments before it is too late."

DiCaprio also called on President Donald Trump, who is in the midst of removing the U.S. from the Paris climate accord, to change his path and work to protect the future of the planet.

"I still believe that the United States has the potential to lead the world on this issue," he said. "We can only hope that the president begins to see it too before it is too late."
