Ozzy Osbourne's mistress has a very different account of their four-year affair

Ozzy Osbourne's mistress, Michelle Pugh, has a different account of their relationship than the one he's been telling.

More: Sharon & Ozzy Osbourne take another step to repair their marriage: Counseling

As Osbourne has come out admitting that a sex addiction led to his four-year affair with Pugh, she did an interview with People magazine and claimed that their relationship was much deeper than that.

"When I say he gave me the greatest love of my life, I mean it," she said. "He made me feel like the most beautiful and worshipped woman in the world."

Pugh worked as Osbourne's hair colorist beginning in 2011, and she says their relationship was strictly professional for a year before he started to pursue her. According to Pugh's claims, Osbourne was unhappy in his marriage to Sharon Osbourne, and as a result, he "consistently and willingly and generously" gave her his love.

"What attracted me to him? Chemistry," Pugh explained. "We just had it. It's that indescribable thing in life, and you can't deny it. And he didn't."

More: No one should judge Sharon Osbourne for taking her 'dirty dog' (aka Ozzy) back

Pugh also claims that their relationship was more than just physical and that she and Osbourne had shared passions that included art, history and current events.

"My relationship was more with this really nice, sweet, funny and cool guy ... John from England," Pugh said, adding that she is no longer in touch with Osbourne.

"I wake from my dreams, which some nights he's in, and for a minute when I wake I'm peaceful," she said. "Then the absence sets in. It's horrible."

According to Osbourne's rep, however, Pugh read too much into their relationship.

"He is sorry if Ms. Pugh took their sexual relationship out of context," Osbourne's rep wrote in a statement. "He would like to apologize to the other women he has been having sexual relationships with. Since his relationship with Ms. Pugh was exposed, Ozzy has gone into intense therapy."

If you still need a reason to quit douching, do it for your ovaries

To douche or not to douche? Definitely not, is the answer from the National Institute of Environmental Health Studies, who has just revealed the results of a study into the practice.

More: The pill that can cure PMS may be a placebo, but we don't care

It’s not the first time douching — vaginal washing with a device — has been linked to health issues, but it is the first time it's been found to increase the risk of ovarian cancer. The national U.S. study claims that women who douche — an estimated 25 percent of American women between the ages of 15 and 44 — are twice as likely to develop ovarian cancer as those who don’t.

Add a higher risk of ovarian cancer to the already lengthy list of unwanted health consequences of douching (yeast infections, pelvic inflammatory disease, ectopic pregnancies, reduced fertility, HIV and other transmitted diseases and cervical cancer), and the message is clear: Leave your vagina alone. (At least when it comes to cleaning it.)

It seems crazy for any woman to carry on douching, particularly when it's completely unnecessary. The vagina naturally cleans itself in a way that doesn't mess with nature's delicate balance, without any need for scented sticks, sprays and other perfumed devices. Even occasional douching can lead to an overgrowth of harmful bacteria that may result in yeast infections and push the bacteria up into the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries, where it definitely doesn't belong.

More: 6 causes of vaginal odor, because it happens whether we like it or not

Hopefully this latest study will get the message through to women who continue to douche, not through any fault of their own, but probably because they have been brought up to believe that it is a fundamental part of good female hygiene: to prepare the vagina for sex; to clean the vagina after sex; and to eliminate odor. Even more concerning is the fact that, unlike drugs, douching products aren't subject to any U.S. Food and Drug Administration safety requirements, which means manufacturers are under no legal obligation whatsoever to carry out safety tests on the douche products they sell.

Around 20,000 American women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer — known as "the silent killer" because often no symptoms are experienced until the disease has reached an advanced stage — each year, says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and around 14,500 die from it.

In light of the new NIEHS study, it's time for all women to be made aware that there are no health reasons to douche and to be actively encouraged to not do it. In the meantime, ladies, spread the word.

What's with PLL killing off all its LGBT characters?

$

0

Pretty Little Liars is in its deadliest season yet, with the evil Uber A playing its most dangerous game ever with the Liars. It's no surprise, then, that the bodies are piling up in Rosewood. Tuesday's episode "Wanted: Dead or Alive" added to the body count with the death of a double agent who definitely had some key information about the A game: Sara. While no one was surprised to see Sara go (she definitely felt like the most expendable person, character-wise, especially now that Jenna is back in town), it's hard not to cringe at one fact about her death: It adds to a long list of LGBT characters who have died on screen, both on PLL and other TV shows, and fans are rightfully pissed at the trend.

Pretty Little Liars has never shied away from dealing with issues within the LGBT community. Emily coming out of the closet as a lesbian was a major plot point of Season 1, and her struggle to be accepted by her mother was particularly heartbreaking. Though there was plenty of criticism over Charlotte's transgender reveal in Season 6 — and rightfully so, given the long history of trans villains on screen — I appreciated that the characters never questioned Charlotte's decision regarding gender, and they seemed to sympathize with Charlotte over her father's bigotry.

Yet there's one problem that PLL and plenty of other shows on TV can't get over, and that's that LGBT characters are dying in storylines at an alarming rate.

According to Autostraddle, 160 (and counting) lesbian and bisexual characters have died on television since 1976. That's not even including other members of the LGBT community, and Pretty Little Liars has several queer characters to add to that list. Emily's girlfriend Maya, who identified as bisexual, was killed by her ex-boyfriend. Shana, a lesbian, was accidentally killed by Aria. Charlotte, a trans woman, was found murdered. Sara, a woman who actively pursued other women, was found dead in the bathtub after being murdered by Uber A. Fans on Twitter noticed the trend and aren't happy about it.

sara harvey 2

sara harvey 2

sara harvey 3

sara harvey 3

The truth is, it's not merely the fact that LGBT characters on TV get killed off that's the problem; it's that when they do, it's merely a speed bump for the series. Oftentimes LGBT characters aren't written as fully or completely as are straight, cisgender characters. Sara, a character in many ways defined by literally just "lurking," was murdered not to provide a major emotional moment but to be a symbol of Uber A's violence. It's hard to not see the pattern when you look at Shana, a character quite similar to Sara's (as in, another "lurker"), who was killed and received little emotional investment from the audience. These characters could have been dynamic villains or great rivals for the core cast, but instead, like so many LGBT characters out there, they were disposable.

For a show that tries so hard to give LGBT characters a voice, it's important for the series to also note the disturbing trends that occur in the cultural sphere. Sure, we have Emily, a complicated, fleshed-out character who happens to be a lesbian, but it's not enough if the rest of the LGBT characters are so easily tossed aside.

Do you think Sara's death was justified? Sound off in the comments!

Luann de Lesseps’ fiancé may have cheated, and I can’t say I’m surprised

$

Raise your hand if you have been waiting for the news that Luann de Lesseps’ new fiancéTom D’Agostino Jr., has cheated on her. Yeah, that’s what I thought. Cue the gasps, and feign your complete surprise.

More: RHONY's Luann de Lesseps just made herself untrustworthy to every woman in the world

So of course there isn’t a confession just yet, but it seems pretty likely that Luann’s beloved Tom may be just as unfaithful as he has been billed to be from the jump. Remember, this is the guy who has had intimate relations with and dated both Sonja and Ramona. When a guy has had that much history with two of your very good friends, it’s probably time to move on to another wading pool altogether. Unfortunately Luann is in deep and is currently moving full steam ahead with plans for a New Year’s Eve wedding. Hopefully this all becomes clear before she makes a huge commitment to a pretty shady dude.

Both Sonja and Ramona have tried numerous times over the course of this season to let Luann know exactly who Tom really is. It’s been falling on some seriously deaf ears, because Luann is legitimately like a lovesick teenager at the moment. It’s like he put a spell on her. Have we checked his education? Is he harboring a degree from Hogwarts? There was even an episode a few weeks ago where Ramona flat out told her that Tom had been communicating with his ex-girlfriend daily and had even bought her a fancy bracelet for her birthday. That doesn’t exactly seem like good boyfriend behavior, right? I feel like that would throw my sensors on high alert. Not Luann, though. She was actually angry at Ramona for talking to her about it. When you are placing blame on your friends instead of the guy that’s clearly being a dog, that’s a sign that a relationship is unhealthy.

More: Are the RHONY ladies right about Luann — or are they just jealous and petty?

Now it looks like our favorite straight shooter, Bethenny, is holding some incriminating texts that could prove Tom is a cheater. Luann is playing the same old tune, of course, and isn’t ready to accept that this could be true. Her attitude is basically that the girls are out to make her sad and just want to upset her. Why would your girlfriends choose to upset you by making up things about your betrothed? Exactly. There is most definitely a nugget of truth hanging in the balance here, and Luann needs to take her Tom glasses off for a moment to bring back some rational thought. Girlfriend, you can do better. Don’t take this guy’s shenanigans. Any guy who is going to plow through a group of tight-knit girlfriends is a sleazy guy at best.

I suppose we all will have to wait for the inevitable explosion to happen when this guy gets caught. I just hope it happens before the end of the year, because weddings are expensive, and no one needs to enter into that kind of lifelong commitment with a known cheater.

Things on RHOC were a little too trashy for Gretchen Rossi's taste

For five glorious season, Gretchen Rossi was a regular on the Real Housewives of Orange County, and since then, rumors that she'll return have tantalized fans. Recently, Rossi was spotted hanging out with RHOC cast member Vicki Gunvalson, with whom Rossi feuded basically the entire time she was on the show (largely because of Rossi's fiance Slade Smiley), and rumors again surfaced that Gunvalson was trying to get Rossi back on the show. After a fan tweeted that Gunvalson probably wants Rossi back because of her lack of morals, Rossi took the opportunity to clarify why she left RHOC in the first place.

More: RHOC's Tamra Judge releases health update on her granddaughter

"Last time I checked," wrote Rossi, "I have a lot of morals, and that's part of the reason I left the show." According to Rossi, between the fakeness of the show's cast and the demands of shooting, her family life and business were suffering, so leaving made sense for lots of reasons, especially since Rossi wanted to concentrate on developing her cosmetic and handbag lines and her plans to start a family with Smiley.

More: RHOC star is pregnant — against all odds!

In addition to spending time with Gunvalson, Rossi is apparently close with many members of the RHOC cast, including new member Kelly Dodd. Rossi sang Dodd's praises on a recent episode of Andy Cohen's Bravo talk show, Watch What Happens Live, saying she's a fan of Dodd's and thinks she's a great addition. "I love that she won't put up with any of the other women's lies or manipulations," she tweeted.

Even if Rossi won't be back on RHOC anytime soon, it looks like she and Gunvalson are definitely up to some reality shenanigans of their own — the two seem to have cooked up a spin-off show for Fox which also includes Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey and the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' former cast member Adrienne Maloof.

The plight of the plus-size model: 'Always too much yet never enough'

$

0

When it comes to women's bodies, we will simply never be good enough. One person who knows this all too well is internationally renowned plus-size model Ashley Graham, who recently shared her personal struggle with body acceptance in Lena Dunham's online newsletter, Lenny.

Her popularity (holla, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover girl!) has come with a price, however. Critics have declared open season on her body, calling her "too fat" to be pretty and "too thin" to be plus-size — often in the same breath. The conundrum is one many "in-between" women feel and was highlighted by the recent controversy over a picture Graham posted on Instagram.

Ashley Graham Balmain

Ashley Graham Balmain

In the snap, she's wearing a leather Balmain outfit that shows her famous curves at their absolute best. She looks flat-out amazing, and yet comments immediately piled on, accusing her of selling out by losing weight and trying to look thinner.

"It was one of those photos where you look and say to yourself, "YESSSS, HONEY! I look damn good!" I didn't give it a second thought when I posted it, but soon the image went viral. Not because of how good I looked wearing a high-end designer that doesn't usually market to women my size, but because of people's misguided views on women's bodies and who owns the rights to them," she wrote on Lenny.

A sampling of the brutal comments included:

  • "I am so disappointed in you."
  • "You don't make plus-size dollars anymore, you make backstabbing dollars."
  • "You don't love the skin you're in, you want to conform to Hollywood, you believe being skinnier is prettier."
  • "You used to be a role model and I looked up to you."

Not that Graham owes anyone an explanation for her weight, whatever it may be, but she assured her fans the picture was just the result of good angles and she hadn't lost a pound. But it left her with a terrible feeling — of always being "too much" or "not enough", but never being "good enough."

Her experience highlights a much larger problem and it isn't one that just Graham or even just plus-size women encounter. Women of all shapes and sizes are constantly told we're never good enough — and as long as our main source of power in our culture is limited to our physical beauty and sex appeal, then we never will be. Yet so many of us have become invested in maintaining this status quo.

More: The real reason behind Ashley Graham's beach body ad

Why? I'm not sure. Perhaps because beauty, at least in the conventional sense, is easy to measure so it becomes a kind of lazy shorthand. Or perhaps because as long as we can say we're prettier than someone else, we (temporarily) feel better about ourselves. Or maybe it's just because we've all been told and sold this message over and over again since we were wee babes. This message is in the makeup we put on our faces, the clothes we wear on our bodies, the food we eat and even the water we drink. We're marinating in a culture of body snark.

But by putting the sum of a woman's worth in what she looks like, we've taken away her intelligence, kindness, spirit and even her humanity. This needs to stop. And it starts with people like Graham speaking out and allowing the rest of us to add our voices to hers. Because we are already enough. As she says, "The cycle of body-shaming needs to end. I'm over it." Amen.

IMO, Jeremy Vuolo's proposal to Jinger Duggar was a bit underwhelming

That was obviously the case when Jeremy Vuolo proposed to Jinger Duggar, and according to the new promo for the upcoming season of Jill and Jessa: Counting On, we'll get to see it happen.

Just don't expect anything grand or over the top. In the teaser trailer for the new season, we see Vuolo and Duggar sitting on a bench together as he gets ready to pop the question by telling her how much he loves her.

"It's really been a privilege for me to get to know you," Vuolo says, as Duggar looks on with a surprised look on her face. "I wanted to ask you if you would..."

And that's where the video ends, so anyone who wants to know how she answers (or if he gets up off that bench and down on one knee) will apparently need to watch the show.

I was that secret shopper quietly judging everyone in the store

$

A few months before I graduated from college, I needed to bring in some extra cash. My financial aid had long run out, and a full-time course load at the local university made holding even a part-time job (while also raising a family) a herculean task. So when I saw an advertisement in the military base newspaper for secret shoppers, I thought I’d struck gold.

What could be easier than going to restaurants and stores, getting my purchases reimbursed, filling out a simple survey AND getting paid for it? It seemed too good to be true, but because it was in the military paper, I figured it had to be real and decided to call.

MoreHow I made peace with being the queer mixed kid in white evangelical Oklahoma

The answering machine directed me to a website where I had to fill out a lengthy application. I remember thinking that it was easier to get into college than it was to sign up to be a secret shopper, but I was broke and willing to do what I needed to do to make money.

Once my application was submitted, I received an email back a week later letting me know I was officially a secret shopper. The best news? There were several locations on base that participated in the program, and I was the only registered military person in the area, meaning I got to take all the on-base jobs as they became available.

My first assignment was to evaluate the local mini market on base. I was to make a specific purchase of a small cup of coffee and pay cash for it while also taking discreet notes about the coffee bar, the hot snack bar, the soda machine counter, the displays in the aisles, the medication section and the overall cleanliness of the store and attitude of the employees (who I had to describe and name in my survey).

I brought my sons and told them to keep their cool. The tiny bit of training offered on the website made it clear that under no circumstances are you to reveal to anyone in the store that you are a secret shopper, and doing so would invalidate the shop assignment, meaning no pay. At 12 and 14, my kids were awesome covert accomplices. We walked around the mini mart and gave each other sly looks as we quickly typed notes into our cell phones about each area while trying to act like normal customers.

More: Donald Trump just kicked a crying baby out of his rally — who's surprised?

When we got back home, I was shocked to see how long and drawn out the after-shop survey was. It took me, a rather fast typist, almost an hour to complete. When I finally submitted the survey and uploaded a copy of my receipt, I learned that my payment — a measly $11.35, which included the $1.35 for my cup of coffee — wouldn’t be released until the last business day of the following month. It was March 2, meaning that money wouldn’t be in my account until April 30.

Since there was nothing I could do but wait, I decided to work as many secret shopper jobs as possible so that my April 30th paycheck would be a doozy. The first month I shopped all across Northern Virginia, on base and off and managed to pull in $217, which now sounds a bit embarrassing. In return for that small deposit in my bank account, I shopped nearly 20 different stores and restaurants and spent an easy 45 minutes to an hour filling out each survey required. That doesn’t begin to cover the drive time and gas money I used, either.

The only real benefit I saw, at the time, was my own sense of personal power. As limited as that perceived power was, I couldn’t help but rub my hands together in wicked delight whenever I wrote a review after being treated like crap during a shopping assignment. I liked to call it “retail revenge therapy.”

When, that following July, my family moved from Virginia to California, fear of not finding work motivated me to continue secret shopping. I had six months before my student loan payments were due and was terrified I wouldn’t land a job.

In Orange County, I discovered there were new shop opportunities that paid slightly better and allowed me to do fun things (like go to the Louis Vuitton counter, engage a sales associate and hold a $10,000 purse), but those same lame payouts the following month made it an unrealistic career. One month I clocked more than 500 miles full-time secret shopping. I made about $298 that month, but spent approximately half that on gas.

In the end, the only thing secret shopping was really good for was reimbursed meals. I was able to treat my sons to plenty of junk food (when you work five to six fast food shops in a day, you need an accomplice to eat the required purchases) and, consequently, spend loads of time with them.

More: Weekly horoscopes: Aug. 1 – Aug. 7

Thankfully, a few months after landing in California, I found work as a writer and was able to shed the invisibility cloak of secret shopping for good. Now I use it as material for my writing, but wouldn’t encourage any sane, healthy and able-to-work person to invest in secret shopping as a legitimate career. (Unless you want to pretend to buy a Louis Vuitton bag, which, in all honesty, was totally worth it.)

The View scored big-time with their new co-host Sara Haines

$

0

The View secured another official co-host today. Sara Haines is set to join Whoopi Goldberg, Candace Cameron Bure, Joy Behar, Raven-Symoné and Paula Faris for the 20th season of the show’s run. Haines isn’t as much of a household name as some of her other co-hosts, so we thought we’d take a second to introduce you to the newest member of the Hot Topics table.

She’s sorta great at everything

Haines is an all-around talent. She was born in Iowa and moved to Massachusetts to attend Smith College. While she was there, she played basketball and volleyball for the school. She obviously didn’t pursue a career in pro sports, but she still participates in triathlons regularly. The girl cares a lot about being active!

More: Raven-Symoné knows one thing for sure about hosting The View (VIDEO)

She’s totally comfortable in front of the camera

Haines comes to The View from ABC News and Good Morning America. She started her career on The Today Show, playing around with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb during their fourth hour. She was there for four years before she moved over to lifestyle reporting for ABC News and became a pop news anchor for Good Morning America. This morning show routine is second nature to her by now.

You’ve probably seen her on The View before

If she looks familiar to you, it’s because Haines has actually been a guest host at the Hot Topics table more than 30 times. That experience may be her most valuable because the women of The View aren’t known for backing down from their opinions. We have a feeling she won’t have any problem getting her voice out there.

More: The View reportedly prohibits Whoopi Goldberg from leaving the show

She’s a total dog person

Haines' Instagram is full of two things — her awesome times on set and her adorable Chihuahua puppy. She’s not shy about how much she loves her dog and wants to take him everywhere she goes. For any dog lovers in the audience, this is a sign she can be trusted completely.

She’s part of an adorable family

Haines lives in Brooklyn with her handsome husband, Max Shifrin, and her adorable baby son, Alec. Honestly, there might not be a cuter baby than Alec.

More: Candace Cameron Bure's new TV gig is going to cause a ton of controversy

She’s always working

Back in 2014, Haines wrote an article for Cosmopolitan telling everyone how she managed to land her spot on Good Morning America, and this girl doesn’t stop working. She talks about having total hustle and making sure not to waste a single opportunity.

She wrote, “The biggest thing I learned while I was a page is that you have to be a sponge and soak in everything because new things, people, lessons are all around you if you are open to letting them in. The problem many people have is that they are so busy worrying about what they are working toward, or the ‘next’ in their life, that they miss out on the ‘right now.’”

It sounds like The View picked an incredible co-host to add to the team. It’ll be fun to watch her add her point of view to the show in the fall.

It's been years since Nick Viall and Josh Murray began their feud on Andi Dorfman's season of The Bachelorette.

More: The Bachelor's Nick Viall finds love with Ben Higgins' runner-up

The two men fought fiercely for Dorfman's heart, and in the end, Murray proposed and Viall went home brokenhearted.

Now, the two men are about to meet again on this summer's season of Bachelor In Paradise, and according to In Touch Weekly, there's still no love lost between them. Read on only if you're OK with a few potential spoilers.

Now that Murray and Dorfman have split, Murray is headed to Mexico to look for love among all the other Bachelor franchise has-beens, and so is perpetual runner-up Viall. According to what a source told In Touch, the two men are once again going to have their sights set on the same woman: mom-of-three fan favorite from Ben Higgins' season, Amanda Stanton.

More: Bachelorette Andi Dorfman's comments about ex Nick Viall will surprise fans

"When Amanda first got to Paradise, she started hooking up with Nick because she didn’t want to be alone, but the second Josh arrived, all bets were off — he was the guy she had gone there to meet," the source explained.

The insider continued, "Nick and Josh came into this already hating each other, and now they despise each other even more."

But the biggest spoiler of all? That Stanton may have made the right choice when she ditched Viall to pursue Murray.

"They’re actually really happy and so serious that he’s planning to move to LA to be with her," the source revealed.

Milania Giudice is the best thing about RHONJ right now

Lest you forget that Milania Giudice, age 10, is better at life than basically everyone, her YouTube channel is here to remind you. While The Real Housewives of New Jersey spins its dramatic web every week and Milania's mom, Teresa Giudice, copes with her return to life outside of prison and navigates raising her four daughters while husband Joe is in prison himself, Milania is off taking over the internet.

More: RHONJ's Jacqueline Laurita given dramatic ultimatum by Bravo

Milania is known as the hilariously difficult Giudice child; she says what she wants when she wants to, and she will not be stopped. (One of my personal favorite Milania quotes: "Shut your butthole.") Her YouTube videos are clearly taken by her on her phone, and apparently all uploaded by her, which I have questions about, although, kids these days and their technology, right? The videos, posted in March of 2016, feature her jumping on a trampoline, putting on makeup and wigs with her other 10-year-old friends, playing a game in which she and said friends challenge each other to go get things in the room and bring them back in 7 seconds and getting ready for bed. ("I'm going to bed right now. I'm tired, but tomorrow I'll vlog.")

More: Insider spills on Joe Giudice's last date night with Teresa Giudice

I cannot emphasize the importance of watching this YouTube channel enough. Even if you have never in your life watched an RHONJ episode, your day will be greatly improved by Milania's... Milania-ness. It's super-funny and refreshingly real since Milania does not front. The drama in the Giudice house seems to be relentless, and it's hard to imagine that it hasn't affected Milania and her sisters (particularly Gia, the oldest), which is also why it's great to see something so normal come from the kid of an RHONJ cast member. When things get too intense in our lives and in reality land, let us all make our way over to YouTube to remind ourselves that Milania is here for us.

Breastfeeding moms rock out in hilarious AC/DC parody video

One of our favorite celebrations of breastfeeding this World Breastfeeding Week comes from YouTube channel MYLF, described as "comedy for mothers, by mothers."

More: Moms kicked out of Bad Moms for breaking the rules

It's a parody of "You Shook Me All Night Long," which was a 1980 hit for Australian rock band AC/DC, and shows a bunch of nursing moms who all donated their time — and considerable talents — to create the no-budget video. The aim of the film is to make breastfeeding look cool and empowering — and this message definitely comes across.

This vid is for all breastfeeding rock star mamas who've been unable to move from their bed because their babies want "more, more, more" and should absolutely be bookmarked for life and played to said babies as soon as they're old enough to appreciate that they were, in fact, nursed all night long.

But as the spoof shows, no matter how exhausting it is to be at the beck and call of a 24/7 milk machine, breastfeeding moms can still find enough energy to kick ass.

Orlando Bloom is taking your #FreeTheNipple and raising it to #FreeThePeen

Orlando Bloom has turned everyone on Twitter into a group of thirsty teenagers. He’s currently on vacation with his girlfriend, Katy Perry and decided that it was too hot to wear clothes. Bloom went about his day, laying on the beach, paddle boarding and all the regular things you would do on a beach vacation, except he did it completely naked.

Of course, paparazzi found the pair and started snapping as many pictures as they could of the couple. And even though you can’t see anything R-rated, people are going crazy over the pictures.

You can see some of our favorite reactions here.

Of course, as it usually does when something major happens, controversy has started already. Fans are debating whether or not people should be thirsting after the photos and demanding uncensored versions.

It's a reaction to the gross phenomenon that has happened recently where celebrities’ nude photos get leaked to the public. People have started fighting back, shaming anyone who looks at or publishes their private photos. So now there’s a whole group of people shouting double standard.

And it makes sense. But there's one key difference.

More: Katy Perry shuts down Orlando Bloom and Selena Gomez rumors with one tweet

Bloom is naked on a public beach. No one hacked into his Cloud or even took a shot into his hotel room with a telephoto lens. He was hanging out for anyone to see. (I know, I’m sorry for the pun.) The nature of these pictures and where they were taken does make it a little different.

On the other hand, I can totally see where he thought he was safe enough to get naked in front of his girlfriend, trusting that it wouldn’t end up all over the Internet. It’s totally naive, but I get it.

I think for the New York Daily News to release the pictures, but only the censored version is the right thing to do given the circumstances, and it’s definitely a conversation we should all keep having. Where is the line between sharing news and invading someone’s privacy?

What to order at the country's most unhealthy restaurant chains

$

The Center for Science in the Public Interest has released its yearly list of the most unhealthy chain restaurants, and it's a doozy.

Taking a look at calories, saturated fat and sodium, CSPI is calling out the least healthy restaurant chains as well as their most decadent dishes.

My internal chain restaurant-loving mall goth is definitely shedding a tear over being forced to confront the fact that, no, spinach and artichoke dip isn't healthy just because it has vegetables in it.

So the next time you're hitting up one of these babies, remember: These are the worst of the worst (and some healthier options too).

Applebee's

Worst offenders: Cheeseburger egg rolls, brew pub pretzels and beer cheese dip, chicken quesadilla, boneless wings with classic Buffalo sauce, spinach and artichoke dip

Healthier options: Skip the appetizer, and opt for a simple garden salad instead (non-creamy dressing on the side, please). Then order an entrée from the Lighter Fare menu, which features lower carbs, less saturated fat, lean proteins and more veggies in each dish. But if you're on a low-sodium diet, beware — all of these dishes still pack at least 1,620 milligrams of the stuff.

More: Yes, it is possible to eat fast food without eating a bunch of crap

Buffalo Wild Wings

Worst offenders: Dessert nachos (they're fried in beef tallow)

Healthier options: The following options have lower calorie counts, lower saturated fat, less cholesterol and carbs and slightly less sodium, though again, the sodium counts in all the dishes are pretty scary. Choose from Naked Tenders, a snack-size portion of plain traditional wings, a grilled chicken breast or black bean burger sans bun, grilled chicken Buffalo wrap, garden side salad or Caesar side salad.

The Cheesecake Factory

Worst offenders: Fried chicken and waffles Benedict, among others

Healthier options: Stick to the SkinnyLicious menu, which offers small plates, appetizers, salads, entrées and cocktails under 590 calories. Look for dishes with lean protein and extra veggies, and ask for any cheeses or dressings on the side so you can control how much you eat.

Dave & Busters

Worst offenders: Short Ribs and Cheesy Mac Stack

Healthier options: Look for items on the 600-or-under menu. Make them lighter by asking for any dressings, sauce or cheese on the side, and look for items with lots of veggies.

Jersey Mike's Subs

Worst offenders: Giant chipotle cheesesteak

Healthier options: Try any of the salads, except for the tuna salad. Ask for dressing on the side, or opt for a squeeze of lemon juice and a splash of olive oil instead. Just be warned: The salads that contain cheese pack a heavy dose of sodium, and the Gorgonzola salads have a surprising amount of sugar too. However, they also are full of vitamins and protein.

Maggiano's Little Italy

Worst offenders: Marco’s Meal for Two, mozzarella marinara, Taylor Street baked ziti, fettuccine Alfredo, warm apple crostada, Mom’s lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce

Healthier options: Take a look at the Lighter Take menu, but split the meal into two portions, and eat half later — many of these "healthier" menu options still clock in at more than 600 calories. Also, if you get a salad, ask for dressing on the side, and skip the rolls and butter that are offered at the beginning of your meal.

More: 15 deceptively unhealthy restaurant salads

Romano's Macaroni Grill

Worst offenders: Cremini pork shank, rosemary peasant bread

Healthier options: Skip the complimentary bread, which clocks in at a heavy 480 calories. Try the soups, like pomodorina, minestrone and roasted mushroom, which are lower in calories, saturated fat and cholesterol (though still quite high in sodium). A fresh green side salad with dressing on the side keeps calories, saturated fat and sodium low while filling you with fiber- and nutrient-rich veggies. If you are going to get an entrée, eat half now, and save the rest for later, or you'll likely be consuming 1,000-plus calories in one sitting. Try a half portion of the butternut Asiago tortellacci, mushroom ravioli, lobster ravioli, penne rustica or pasta di mare. None of them are exactly a healthy choice, but a half portion will come in under 500 calories — much better than other items on the menu.

Sonic

Worst offenders: RT 44 grape slush with rainbow candy

Healthier options: The healthy options here are far and few between. For food, opt for a veggie burger, apple slices or a chicken wrap. For drinks, stick to water — most of their slushies and ice cream concoctions are nothing but sugar.

Uno Pizzeria & Grill

Worst offenders: Whole hog burger (though much of the menu is kind of alarming when it comes to calories, carbs, saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium)

Healthier options: The good news is that Uno's online menu allows you to search by specific dietary requirements, like fewer than 500 calories, less than 750 milligrams of sodium and less than 100 milligrams of cholesterol. Though its pizzas, pastas and many entrées are full of nutritional no-nos, Uno's has a lot of healthier options too.

Try the lemon-basil salmon, baked haddock, roasted vegetables, steamed broccoli, whole-grain brown rice, farro salad, garden salad or Power Salad Lunch. These dishes are lower in sodium, calories, saturated fat and cholesterol, so you can enjoy a meal out without suffering the consequences later.

These restaurants may have some entrées that are the worst of the worst, but healthier options do still exist. It's worth checking online the dishes' nutritional information of any restaurant you're going to visit so you can plan your healthy eating ahead of time. Fortunately this list proves that even though your favorite chain restaurant may offer a few entrées of which each bite is basically a mini death sentence, they probably offer something nutritionally sound enough that you can still justify stopping in for a bite to eat the next time you go to the mall to nostalgically peer into Hot Topic (or is that just me?).

Shonda Rhimes is totally up to something with the new Grey's Anatomy poster

Shonda Rhimes has finally given us our first clue about Season 13 of Grey’s Anatomy! The brilliant creator tweeted out the new Grey’s Anatomy poster, teasing the medical dramedy’s thirteenth season on ABC, which premieres on Sept. 22. The new Grey’s poster offers a more subdued look at the show. Instead of a high-resolution photo of the show’s heroine Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), the poster features a black and white portrait of Dr. Grey, the only color found in her bright blue eyes, with one half of her face obscured by a silhouetted Seattle skyline.

More: I'm so not down for Meredith and Riggs falling in love on Grey's Anatomy

Naturally, the striking poster has inspired fans to try to figure out what it could mean for Season 13. About 10 hours after Rhimes shared the new poster on Twitter, she returned to dismiss the theory that the new artwork had any hidden meaning, writing, “It means ABC designs really cool posters.” Still, this is the same woman who killed McDreamy, played with our Olitz loving hearts on Scandal, and has continued to torture fans with dramatic death after dramatic near-death (seriously, Meredith Grey has been in mortal danger more times than I can count). In other words, Rhimes’ secret-keeping skills are so legendary that Olivia Pope could learn a thing or two from her. So, instead of taking her word for it, let’s analyze this Season 13 poster and see if we can’t discover some meaning behind it.

Shonda Rhimes On 'GA' S13 Poster

Shonda Rhimes On 'GA' S13 Poster

Grey’s Anatomy’s new poster presents an entirely new look at the show’s main character. The Meredith Grey in this poster is not smiling, not looking off into the distance at a hopeful future, not 'smeyezing' — this Meredith Grey is starring directly at us, almost daring us to judge her. Even with half her face blocked, she still appears positively intimidating and strong, just as she always has been. Her expression seems to foreshadow a season of Meredith Grey taking on the world — or at least Seattle.

More: Grey's Anatomy pissed off fans with Callie's low-key send-off

It’s also interesting to note that she doesn’t appear to be wearing a doctor’s coat or scrubs, as she has been in basically every official Grey’s Anatomy poster ever. This could be nothing, or it could mean that we’re going to see Meredith embrace her life outside of the hospital, whether that means she’ll be focusing on her personal life — a new post-Derek romance with Riggs, perhaps — or her life as a mother. Obviously, the absence of her doctor gear could mean that things are about to change drastically for Meredith, but if you’re worried it means Meredith will leave her job at Grey Sloane Memorial, rest assured that this is highly unlikely. What is Grey’s Anatomy without Grey and Anatomy?

More: Jesse Williams responds to critics who want him fired from Grey's Anatomy

No matter what Grey's Anatomy Season 13 holds for Meredith Grey, it’s clear that she will be tackling Shondaland’s ups and downs the same way she always had: with a strong, and independent, head on her shoulders.

Sister Wives' Janelle Brown takes her weight loss journey seriously these days

The Sister Wives have been through a lot of drama in the last couple of years, but that's not throwing Janelle Brown off track of her weight loss goals.

More: Sister Wives: 6 reasons Meri should leave the family

Janelle first committed to losing weight back in 2013, and her journey was documented on the show as she was inspired by a close friend who lost 100 pounds and started to hit the gym herself. During the show, she regularly saw a professional trainer, and when the excitement started wearing off, she wrote herself motivational cards with her reasons for losing weight, including: "You will be thin enough to do things you want to do with your kids and you will have the energy to do them," "You will feel more confident in new business situations," "People will see 'you,'" "You’ll have more clothes," "You can sit on and in any chair" and "You will no longer be handicapped."

More: Sister Wives review: Meri's divorce hardships revealed

The motivation worked, and Janelle made huge strides toward getting healthy.

But in the last year, viewers noticed that a lot of the weight Janelle had lost was starting to creep back. Whether it was because she simply lost track of her goals, or because it was too hard to keep up with weight loss while her family was going through so much drama, Janelle seemed to be falling backward.

Now, she's back in the gym and sounds more determined than ever. In a recent tweet, Janelle explained just how motivated she was to work out on one busy day.

"Even after battling insomnia last night I drug myself 2 the gym 2day. But proved again under that challenge that workout = sanity," she wrote.

Does this mean Janelle is back on track? We're about to find out.

Johnny Depp drama isn't stopping Amber Heard from club-hoppin' with a hottie

As if her divorce from Johnny Depp isn’t messy enough, now Amber Heard has to deal with rumors of a new relationship. Heard was spotted partying with billionaire Elon Musk again last night and people are wondering whether the pair is actually together.

This is only one of the very few times Heard and Musk have been spotted spending time together but it's still enough to spark rumors. Last time Heard flat-out denied that they were anything but friends. But it’s starting to look like they may be something a little more than that.

More: Apparently, spies are watching Amber Heard and her new billionaire 'friend'

Musk, like Heard, is in the middle of a divorce so it’s possible that the two are bonding over their current struggles. But we all know what happens when friends try to comfort each other through a divorce. Just look at Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani.

Heard is obviously free to move on whenever she feels ready, and she’s certainly going to need a lot of support for the battle she’s about to have with Depp. But one of her requests in the divorce papers is spousal support. Since she and Depp never signed a prenup, she’s well within her rights to request it. But it’s up to the judge to decide whether he thinks it’s necessary.

More: Johnny Depp reportedly abused Amber Heard days before divorce

It’s going to be very difficult for a judge to feel the need to give her any of Depp’s money if she’s dating a man worth $12 billion.

Whether Heard and Musk are a romantic couple or just friends, it’s good to see that Heard is getting back to a normal life. She’s not letting any of the rumors or the drama of her divorce stop her from living her life. Even with a deposition looming next week, she’s determined to enjoy her life. She’s been spotted in Miami, Los Angeles and now London in the last month alone. We should all be so lucky to mend a broken heart by jet-setting around the world with a billionaire friend!

Sex positions for conceiving a girl that new parents swear by

$
0
0

Whether we're willing to admit it or not, most parents have at least a small preference about the gender of their baby. Maybe that's why gender prediction kits and DIY gender prediction tests — like peeing into baking soda to see if you're carrying a boy or a girl — are always trending among parents on the Internet. We try so hard to be patient, but we just want to know. Some of us have even tried to tip the odds before conception, by using a gender-friendly position to have sex.

But before you throw caution (and condoms) to the wind, there are some things you need to know about pre-conception sex. So far, there isn't any research to support a foolproof gender selection method based on sex position. There are plenty of old wives' tales, stories from parents who claim their approach worked and even a Chinese conception chart that pins potential gender on a mother's age and month of conception.

More: 6 differences between couples who make it out of a rut and those who don't

Sure, nothing in life is guaranteed, but it's always fun to try. Check out our favorite sex positions (and dietary and timing tips) rumored to boost your probability of birthing a baby girl:

Try girl on top

Hoping for a girl? Then you might want to hop on top during sex! Again, while no single position can guarantee your baby's gender 100 percent, Dr. Ava Cadell, spokesperson for The Experience Channel and renowned love and sex therapist, says that to have a girl, the woman should be on top so that she can control the depth of penetration. Instead of "going deep,” your partner should ejaculate as close to the opening of your vagina as possible. This will make it much more difficult for the male sperm to reach your egg, since they have a shorter lifespan than female sperm do.

Do it missionary style

Turns out, good old-fashioned sex could be your golden ticket to getting pregnant with a girl. "Some believe that the best position to conceive a girl is the missionary position,” notes Stacy Rybchin, founder of My Secret Luxury. "Sperm with the X-chromosome (female sperm) travel slower and can survive up to five days.” Because penetration isn't typically as deep in this position, the sperm have a longer way to go, giving the females a clear advantage.

Rybchin's observations, which support both missionary and girl-on-top positions, stem from one of the original theories of natural conception, called the Shettles Method. The Shettles Method has been keeping parents-to-be busy between the sheets since the 1960s, when Dr. Shettles explained that male sperm may be faster in his book, How to Choose the Sex of Your Baby. As such, Dr. Shettles also endorsed "shallower" sex positions that give female sperm a fighting chance for couples hoping to conceive a girl.

More: How couples turned around their sexless marriage

Experiment with spooning

Another common sex position believed to help couples conceive a female is spooning. And what girl doesn't love to spoon, right!? This position, like the others mentioned above, allows for shallow penetration only, therefore upping the chances of a female sperm actually reaching and fertilizing the egg first.

Because of the shallow penetration, spooning may also fall within the Shettles Method since it can keep those speedy male sperm away from the cervix.

Next Up: Time it just right

{pageBreak}

Time it just right

According to experienced nurse and midwife Carmen Kosicek, RN, MSN, couples trying for a girl should have intercourse more frequently, stopping two to three days prior to ovulation. "The female sperm live longer, up to 72 hours,” she explains, "so the theory behind this would be that the sperm left around when the egg is present would be the female sperm.”

Don't orgasm during sex

We realize this tip sounds sort of awful, but if your heart's set on having a baby girl, then it's important to resist the urge to orgasm! After an orgasm, your body produces chemicals that cause the vaginal environment to become more alkaline. Apparently, male sperm thrive in this type of environment, while female sperm prefer the more acidic one pre-orgasm. (The Shettles Method also puts the kibosh on having an orgasm precisely because an alkaline, post-orgasm vagina is less friendly to female sperm.)

More: 22 Sexuality terms you don't know but probably should

Examine your lifestyle

Dr. Cadell points to a study done by researchers at the University of Exeter in England, which surveyed 740 first-time mothers, as well as a study by Maastricht University in the Netherlands, to prove her point: "Both studies confirmed that to boost the odds of conceiving a girl, women should say yes to calcium and magnesium rich foods, such as yogurt, tofu, milk, oatmeal, almonds, spinach, broccoli, beans, cashews and oranges.

Conversely, they should steer clear of foods high in salt and potassium, like potatoes, bacon, bread, shrimp and smoked salmon. The reason for this? In short, the diet is thought to enhance the acidity of a woman's body, and thus her uterine environment, making it easier for those female sperm to thrive and survive, of course. And while high stress levels are never recommended during pregnancy, it is interesting to note that periods of significant stress, like the 2006 earthquake in Greece, have been followed by a lower male birth rate.
