Top 10 smartest dogs in the world

10. Australian cattle dog

Australian cattle dog

Image: sally9258/ Flickr

Yes, the Australian cattle dog from Down Under. A working dog that is traditionally occupied with controlling and herding cattle, its qualities are exceptional intelligence, alertness, resourcefulness and a fiercely protective loyalty over its property and people. They are agile, strong, active dogs, both physically and mentally, which revel in new experiences. The flip side is that they bore easily and will unintentionally find trouble while looking for activities to occupy themselves with. The cattle dog is very organized; many are known for putting their own toys away after playing.

At 19-inches tall and 30 to 60 pounds, they aren't huge dogs, but they're not the best choice unless you have plenty of wide-open spaces.

9. Rottweiler

Rottweiler

Image: Kusadasi Guy/Flickr

Another herding dog, the rottweiler began in Germany as a true work companion. They are still primarily used for work as guard dogs and as police dogs. They are well-known for their stoicism, keen perception, courage and unflagging loyalty. They make excellent additions to the family.

Ready for a surprise? Even at an average of 100 pounds and as much as 27-inches high, these pooches aren't awful at apartment dwelling so long as you keep them well-exercised.

8. Papillon

Papillion

Image: Rico./Flickr

This deceptively cute, butterfly-eared dog is smarter, tougher and stronger than it appears (it's like the bionic dog). Often described as a big dog in a little body, it has the athletic stamina to keep up on long walks and the bravura of a canine 10 times its size. The Papillon is a true companion and watchdog. Although they can be ferociously protective over what belongs to them, their keen intelligence makes it possible to take them anywhere. Let's not forget they can be litter-box trained, a big plus.

These sweet pooches are a teensy 10-inches high and weigh only 9 pounds, perfect for those with smaller homes or apartments.

7. Labrador retriever

Image: Bill Geneczko/Flickr

The Lab, as it is affectionately called, is the most popular breed chosen by families. Another member of the working class of dogs, Labs are best known for their intelligence, affection, patience and gentility, making them perfect companions for households with kids. They are easily trained and, in fact, are one of the top dogs chosen for search and rescue, assisting the disabled and police work. They are also known to self-train, observing behaviors in humans and repeating them — a great asset in emergency situations.

Despite their size (about 22-inches tall and 65 pounds, though some males can get as big as 100 pounds), they do pretty well in spacious apartments with plenty of exercise or in moderate homes with an average-size backyard.

6. Shetland sheepdog

Shetland sheepdog

Image: Marcia O'Connor/Flickr

Another herding dog, the Shetland takes this ability into the home, showing the same commitment and protectiveness over its human "herd" as the farm-raised version does. Highly intelligent, the Sheltie handles life with great efficiency and diligence, learning new commands with little repetition and making sure that all the family is safe, sound and in place. Shelties show great devotion to their families and are happy to live just about anywhere — while they're pretty active indoors, they're OK without a yard if sufficiently exercised, and despite their collie-like looks, they're pretty petite at a max of 16-inches tall and 27 pounds.

5. Doberman pinscher

Doberman pinscher

Image: Ken Dodds/Flickr

Due to an inborn fearlessness and deep stamina, the Doberman is one of the most popular breeds of guard dogs. Smart and assertive, they can easily be trained for dominance or docility. Because of their past as war and police dogs, they may appear fearsome, but they are actually quite gentle. Their loyalty and acuity make Dobermans great additions to the family.

The average Doberman is about 26-inches high and 66 to 88 pounds, but the kennel clubs have dubbed some much larger Dobes "Warlock Dobermans."

4. Golden retriever

Golden retreiver

Image: Ida Myrvold/Flickr

A very affectionate and popular breed, the golden retriever is highly regarded for its intelligence. They can learn well over 200 commands, making them indispensable companions both in the home and in the workplace. Loyal, loving and patient, with a willingness to please and a love of learning, this is a fabulous companion pet to bring into your family.

These are sturdy dogs that top the scales at 80 pounds, so they need a bit of room but can easily be apartment dogs if they're sufficiently exercised. But they would probably prefer a medium-size backyard.

3. German shepherd

German shepherd

Image: Lee Coursey/Flickr

The shepherd was originally bred specifically for intelligence. Smart, courageous and protective, the German shepherd is one of the most dependable of companions. They learn tasks after only a few repetitions and obey commands nearly always the first time they are given. They are eager to learn new tasks as this gives them direction and purpose — very important for a shepherd. Besides being used for herding animals, they are often used as guard dogs, police dogs and search-and-rescue dogs and have even been trained by the military for parachute jumps.

They're fairly big dogs at 24 inches and 80 pounds, but surprisingly, if they're well-exercised, they're not too shabby at living in a roomy enough apartment, though they much prefer a big yard to romp in.

2. Poodle

Poodle

Image: Deb Watson/Flickr

Easily trainable, steadfast and sharp-minded, poodles flourish in human company. Even with the froufrou hairdos, poodles are made to endure and can be quite effective as guard dogs, especially the standard-size poodles. In fact, the "poodle clip" was created specifically for the working poodle, so it could swim more effectively while still having fur to protect its organs as it went about the business of hunting and retrieving.

The poodle excels at training and obedience and also loves creative playtime. This is what made them so popular as circus performers. But this can be a drawback as well. If left alone to boredom, poodles can be creative about finding ways to amuse themselves, sometimes finding trouble along the way.

They come in a variety of sizes, from toy to standard, so there's sure to be a version of these fluffy-haired Poindexters for any size house.

And the No. 1 smartest dog breed in the world is...

1. Border collie

Border collie

Image: Trevis Rothwell/Flickr

Because of their extraordinary intelligence and high energy, it is essential to give border collies an occupation or purpose, or you may well find your home wrecked upon your return from a long day at work. They have an intense connection with humans, making border collies ideal work and home companions.

However, keep this in mind: Border collies invariably will not do well unless they are with people who are as high-energy as they are. They do best with humans who can participate in dog sports with them. Also, because of their background as herding dogs, they may be frustrated by small children as their inability to herd the children as they deem fit is confounding for them. For the right human, the border collie is well-behaved, exceptionally good at learning and a true-blue companion.

Christy Turlington Burns shares how her organization is saving women's lives

$

But hundreds of thousands of women across the country have much different experiences. Women aren't given choices, are scared to assert themselves and, sadly, many of them are dying during childbirth. Model and advocate Christy Turlington Burns joined a #BlogHer15: Experts Among Us panel Saturday afternoon to share how her organization, Every Mother Counts, is hoping to change that.

"We are told [childbirth is] supposed to be a joyful experience," said Yasmeen Hassan, global executive director of Equality Now and panel moderator. "[But] for many, many women around the world, pregnancy and childbirth is something that is fraught with dangers .. and even death."

More: Breastfeeding mom booted from Post Office

Turlington Burns said that while maternal deaths have declined globally, they are actually on the rise in the United States. Only seven other countries have seen an increase.

“Why women are dying here when we have made so much progress in the last 100 years is frightening and surprising," she told a group of nearly 2,000 bloggers and media professionals.

Turlington Burns showcased a new series, Giving Birth in America, which followed a group of young women in New York as they shared their birth stories. Stories that, frankly, surprised me.

Chanel Porchia-Albert, founder and executive director of Brooklyn-based Ancient Song Doula Services, said the stories are all too common. Women are rushed to have C-sections, whether they want them or not, and many are often afraid to question the medical professionals.

"With low-income women of color, it happens more often than not," she said. “We have to start thinking about the approach to care. It’s important for an individual to feel like they have options, to feel like they have choices,” Porchia-Albert said.

Turlington Burns said her interest in maternal health issues began when she had complications during her own pregnancy.

Christy Turlington Burns and Every Mother Counts

Christy Turlington Burns and Every Mother Counts

Dr. Priya Agrawal, executive director of Merck for Mothers – who was also on Saturday's panel, said "near misses" like Turlington Burns' are all too common.

More: #BlogHer15: Experts Among Us

“It’s really important to remember that the maternal deaths in this country is the tip of the iceberg," Agrawal said. Many women, she said, may experience a traumatic birth, from which they can actually suffer post-traumatic stress disorder.

While some women experience complications that are not preventable, Agrawal said, many more experience difficult births that are entirely preventable. Delay in seeking care and delay in access to care – many low-income women may not have the ability to make it to appointments – are just two reasons, she said.

“There are some things that absolutely shouldn’t be happening,” she said. And unlike when someone is taken to the hospital with something like a heart attack, there is not really a similar across-the-board standard for women experiencing pregnancy complications.

"We’re all working to make sure no woman dies while giving life,” Agrawal said.

Ava Duvernay on experimenting with vr filmmaking

Ava's keynote opened with a very cool video quoting some of the best actors out there discussing Ava as a director. I had to admire someone in Hollywood with the good sense to make a film trailer for herself, complete with the movie-trailer-voice guy. I kind of want one. No, screw it, I just aspire to be like her, a woman described as driven, confident and calming, a hard combination to pull off ... and judging from the standing ovation Ava got as she walked onstage, I'm not the only one.

Ava is interested in stories, particularly the stories of black people's lives. "Women have been trained to ask for what we want instead of taking it. We've been indoctrinated in a culture of permission. It's true for women and it's true for people of color. But that time has passed," she said.

"I'm really interested in illuminating the magnificence of the lives of black people." The relevance of 'Selma' joined the current national conversation about race -- Ava noted 'Selma' was in the editing room when Mike Brown was killed and #Ferguson unfolded on our televisions and across our social media.

Speaking of social media, Ava uses Facebook like a journal and considers her presence on social media to be a conversation that she's having rather than a promotional tool. Ava compared her project African American Film Releasing Movement (AFFRM), to the attendees of #BlogHer15: Experts Among us blogging and creating online.Though AFFRM had previously put out only films by black filmmakers, Ava continuously reiterated her commitment to exposing the voices of all people of color plans to expand into other diverse films (follow @affrm on Twitter).

On success in her career, Ava said: "No one has all her eggs in one basket. Diversify, but stay true to your interests. If you really look at the people you admire, they don't all do one thing. It's okay to do more than one thing as it relates to the blog, as it relates to your own business. You don't have to choose," she said.

Ava closed with saying she's noticed her male colleagues dabbling with virtual reality cameras. "If they have it over in the corner, then I want to do it," she said.

And we look forward to seeing what Ava does next.

Lab and kitten

Oh, yeah, that Labrador is nowhere near as invested in this friendship as the kitten. While the kitten apparently can't keep its paws off the Lab, the puppy's every look at the camera screams, "Will you do a brother a solid and get this thing off me?"

We must give credit to both video participants in the determination department, though: The pup is determined to stand his ground, while the kitten is determined to completely forgo any concept of personal space. But even with the lack of reciprocation, this video is still as adorable as all getup, particularly their little slumber party at the end — which has, coincidentally, forced me to entertain the idea of a mid-work nap.

Though it's not quite the brood Josh Duggar grew up with, he and his wife Anna now have four children. On Twitter, they announced the birth of their daughter, Meredith Grace Duggar, who weighed 7 lbs., 14 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.

Meredith is a Welsh name, once only given to male children, and means "great sea." The newborn has three siblings: Marcus, 2, Michael, 4, and Mackynzie, 5.

More: In troubling news, many of Josh Duggar's fans are defending his actions

Josh Duggar baby

Josh Duggar has been at the center of a sexual abuse controversy in which he's accused of molesting several young girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teen. The scandal caused TLC to cancel his family's reality show, 19 Kids and Counting.

In May 2015, Josh Duggar resigned from his job at the Family Research Council, where he was executive director of FRC Action, the nonprofit political action and lobbying arm of the FRC. His resignation was a result of the sexual abuse allegations.

We can only imagine how Josh must be feeling to finally be celebrating some good news and hopefully starting a new chapter in his life.

Beginning in 2008 as 17 Kids and Counting, the show starred real estate agent Jim Bob Duggar, his wife, Michelle, and their 17 kids. Jim Bob and Michelle have since had two more children, bringing the total count of their offspring to 19. All their children have names starting with the letter "J".

More: TLC's initial response to the Duggar scandal was beyond disappointing

Jim Bob and Michelle have stirred up their own controversy stemming from their conservative religious practices, including not using birth control, homeschooling their kids and advocating sexual abstinence (including from kissing) before marriage.

More: Josh Duggar could be embroiled in yet another scandal

Only time will tell if Josh and Anna are similarly strict with their own kids.

Police say Demi Moore and her family were not at home when a man was found dead in the actress's backyard pool Sunday.

Moore, mother of Rumer Willis, Scout Willis and Tallulah Willis, has yet to comment on the events or the police investigation. Law enforcement reportedly told E! News the family was not involved in any way.

Sources also told the site the 21-year-old man's cause of death was accidental drowning. An anonymous 911 call led police to the home early Sunday morning, and a source told E! No details were immediately available about who those five people were or whether they had any connection to Moore or her family.

The 23-year-old reality star attended the taping of the Teen Mom 2 reunion this weekend, her first public appearance since missing the show's New York City press tour last month. It was also her first appearance since entering rehab, which was why she missed the press tour.

Dressed in an adorable yellow halter-top cocktail dress and nude stilettos, Messer posed, all smiles, with co-stars Kailyn Lowry, Jenelle Evans and Chelsea Houska and the show's host, Dr. Drew, in a photo posted to Lowry's Instagram.

Though she's been accused of drug use, Messer entered rehab in late May for her stress and depression, not drugs. Her ex-husband, Corey Simms, questioned her use of prescription pain pills in the new season of Teen Mom 2, but after taking a drug test required to keep custody of her three kids, Messer passed with no traces of drugs in her system.

And though Messer and her most recent husband, Jeremy Calvert, finalized their divorce last month, he accompanied her to the reunion show taping, sparking rumors that the couple may be on the road to reconciling now that Messer has completed her stint in rehab. According to Us Weekly, Messer still hasn't publicly acknowledged the divorce, and her social media accounts still show her name as "Leah D. Calvert."

ARIES (March 20-April 19)

Last week, you had all of your ducks lined up in a row. This week, however, it will feel like they're being picked off like targets in a shooting gallery. Salvage what you can, but don't go crazy. This is what happens when Mars squares Uranus. The field posts get moved around and just when you think it's safe to punt, they'll get moved again. On July 25, you learn that a mother-in-law or boyfriend's sister has been bad-mouthing you. It's disheartening, but remember that you're the one he chose to be in a relationship with — not her.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Don't push the envelope with a negotiation unless you want to see it slide off the table and flutter to the floor. The other party doesn't have to accede to your demands. And with Saturn in Scorpio, he doesn't have to. Switch from hardball to soft pedal. Sometimes people want to be treated like human beings and not moving targets. Off-topic conversations have a wonderful way of creating rapport. Show him pictures of your dog, talk about Game of Thrones, share a fun fact. GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

The Uranus/Mars square on July 25 could upset all of your financial plans. Uranus is the planet of what we don't expect in astrology, and it's famous for tossing curveballs from out of left field. Your first reaction will be to retreat, but don't because there is a way that you can absorb this cost or at least postpone it. Meanwhile, you need to move forward with a project, purchase or sale that's already in the works. It really will turn out to be the moneymaker that you are banking on.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)

You may wonder what's gotten into you this week because you'll be snapping at just about everybody. It's to be expected when Mars in Cancer squares Uranus in Aries. Mars is already an edgy energy in and of itself. Add the volatility of Uranus to the mix, and you will interpret every remark as a slight, insult or veiled criticism. The best thing to do during times like these is to take a chill pill. And if you can't do that, then try a tai chi class. It's perfect for redirecting the energy in a more fluid way.

LEO (July 22-Aug. 22)

It isn't easy to trust the decisions you're making nowadays — especially when you don't have the clearest idea of where you're going. Just about everything you do these days seems to fly in the face of people's expectations, as they are quick to point out. Yet the wonderful thing about being a Leo is that deep down you know you're right. And this feeling will only get stronger over the next three weeks. There's a reason why astrologers call you lionhearted and that's because you have the courage it takes to be true to yourself no matter what.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

A business endeavor that was supposed to go off without a hitch will get much more complicated when Venus turns retrograde in your zodiac sign on July 25. You could find yourself pinned on the horns of a dilemma where you can't move forward any more than you can go back the way you came. So what do you do? Don't panic, and take things one day at a time. You won't get everything you want, but you won't lose your shirt either. That said, you should definitely think twice about taking anything on faith in the future.

Sometimes as a Libra, you can get too caught up in how well others are doing, and this can lead you to undervalue and even disparage what you have. You shouldn't assume that people are doing so hot. Everybody does a bit of window dressing when it comes to showing off their accomplishments, and just because something looks good on the outside doesn't mean that the same can be said for the inside. Take pride in your accomplishments. You have a lot of wonderful things going for you right now, plus you have better taste than most.

A big life decision you thought lie further down the road will be front and center on Wednesday or Thursday. But what looks like a crisis is really an opportunity to shine. This is the breakthrough that you've been looking for. Venus turns retrograde in Virgo on July 25. Venus retrogrades often bring unexpected negative attention from women, which is why they're associated with "mean girl" syndrome in astrology. But it's also important to ask yourself if you're doing anything to get people so riled up. For instance, did you show too much interest in someone's boyfriend? Did you come across as too arrogant at work? Is your success threatening a higher-up? You will need to find ways to be true to yourself without stepping on anyone's toes because you'll be traversing this psychic minefield through Sept. 6.

Venus retrograde in Virgo spells trouble with a coworker, manager or client. You will want to throw up your hands in frustration and pull a disappearing act, but that's not going to work. Ducking out to avoid a confrontation is useless because this person will hound you wherever you go. What you need to do is to reassert your status. You've let the "friends" part of your working relationship take over, and this has led this person to mix the personal with the professional and to take certain liberties. It's time to redraw the line on July 28.

Pro surfer survives shark attack, may not compete ever again (VIDEO)

Australian pro surfer Mick Fanning has likely thought about what he would do if he ever came face to face with a shark; after all, the 34-year-old Gold Coast surfer has been carving up the waves for decades.

But yesterday, Fanning survived an all-too-close encounter with a shark, which was broadcast on live television in South Africa.

After he was seen thrashing with the large shark in the water, Fanning was rescued by waiting safety personnel on Jet Skis in a shocking spectacle that has left spectators and global viewers shocked and amazed at Fanning's survival.

Following his brush with a shark, Fanning told reporters, "I was about to start paddling again and I had this instinct that someone was behind me. I saw the whole thing just thrashing around... I punched it a couple of times, but I felt like it was dragging me underwater. Then all of a sudden my leg rope broke and I was swimming and screaming.

"I was swimming in and I had this thought, 'What if it comes for another go at me?' So I turned around, so I could at least see it, and before I knew it the boat was there, the Jet Skis were there. I just can't believe it... I'm happy to not even compete ever again. Seriously, to walk away from that, I'm just so stoked."

The Tweed Heads local was competing against Julian Wilson in the final of the J-Bay Open when the shark tugged at his leg.

When it became clear that Fanning was battling a shark, the world champion motioned for Wilson to paddle towards the shore.

However, his competitor quickly began paddling towards Fanning, telling reporters in an emotional interview afterwards, "[I thought], 'I've got a board, if I can get there or stab it or whatever, I've got a weapon...' I couldn't get there quick enough."

Competition cancelled, pro surfers react

After the encounter, the water was cleared and Fanning and Wilson split the points and the prize money from the competition. The event was also cancelled.

World champion Kelly Slater told reporters he had never seen anything like it, confirming, “I was coming up the beach and I saw all the boats and skis go straight to the lineup. I knew there was only one possible reason that would ever happen in a contest and that’s if someone got attacked by a shark,” he said.

The World Surf League released a statement afterwards commending Fanning's quick action in the water:

"We are incredibly grateful that no one was seriously injured today. Mick's composure and quick acting in the face of a terrifying situation was nothing short of heroic and the rapid response of our Water Safety personnel was commendable — they are truly world class at what they do.

"The safety of our athletes is a priority for the WSL and, after discussions with both finalists, we have decided to cancel the remainder of competition at the J-Bay Open. We appreciate the ongoing support we have in South Africa and once again want to express our gratitude to the Water Safety Team."

ARIES (March 20-April 19)

Expect troubles with men when Mars squares Uranus in the sky. You could be locking horns with your husband, flying to the rescue of your boyfriend or inflating the air mattress for your brother to sleep on until he settles his differences with his girlfriend. The Mars/Uranus square could also indicate you taking your father's side in a family dispute. You may not agree with his position but you will defend his right to take it. Sister Wives fans are freaking out over Meri Brown's cryptic tweet

And on Sunday night, Brown sent the Twittersphere spinning on its head once again with her cryptic tweets. She posted, "Having faith in the unseen can be so hard sometimes. Gotta just pull up your bootstraps and deal. And trust. Always trust."

Meri Brown tweet 1

Meri Brown tweet 1

Brown, of course, is a member of the polygamist family that stars in one of TLC's most controversial as well as most popular shows, Sister Wives. In the Season 5 finale, Brown revealed that she was making the bold and tactical decision to legally separate from the patriarch of the family, Kody Brown.

More: Meri Brown posts troubling pics after Sister Wives rumors (PHOTOS)

The two have been married for 25 years. She explained that the reason for the split is so that one of the other sister wives, Robyn, could then legally marry Kody, bolstering his case for legally adopting Robyn's children from a previous marriage. Robyn is also pregnant with Kody's 18th child.

Fans immediate jumped to conclusions that something serious was wrong with Brown and began reaching out and asking if everything was all right.

Brown followed up the first message with an even more ominous tweet, saying, "Even just a small loss is a loss. Sometimes you wonder how you'll deal with something you've had, and now it's gone."

Well, we are glad she said she is all right, but could she be alluding to her emotional break mentioned at the end of Season 5? It has to be difficult to break up a 25-year legal marriage, even if the impetus is for what they think is the greater good.

Some have even speculated that Brown, as her children are now grown, might be headed down her own path, away from her family to pursue her own goals, but Brown has not given any concrete evidence this is where she is headed.

Finally, she added an exclamation point to the sentiment that she truly is fine, posting this photo essentially telling everyone to really just chill out.

Reign's new characters may destroy everything Mary's built

$

Reign Season 2 ended with Catherine hatching a plot with Queen Elizabeth to unseat Mary for good, while Francis continued to conceal his condition in hopes Mary would become pregnant and keep herself safe with an heir before he dies. That leaves Season 3 wide open for more delicious plotlines about the unrest at Court, and thanks to The Wrap's exclusive casting scoop, we have a better idea of what lies ahead. A prince, a pirate and an ambassador are all set to play a role in the latest round of castle intrigue as the battle between Mary and Catherine intensifies.

More: Reign's EP discusses mixing fact with fiction to create a compelling historical drama

Up first is Nick Lee (The Fall), who is set to star as Nicholas, a "charming" man appointed by Queen Elizabeth to be England's ambassador to France. With Catherine hiding out with Queen Elizabeth in England, it is no surprise that Nicholas will be playing the role of spy. Furthermore, he is harboring a mysterious personal grudge against Mary, making him all the more dangerous, especially since Mary has not yet figured out Catherine is pulling strings in England.

The next guy in the lineup is Ben Geurens (Nikita) as Don Carlos, a suave Spanish prince who will no doubt drive the ladies of Mary's court wild. Don Carlos sounds very much like a subplot character meant to keep Mary's close friends busy (and distracted) while the real action happens elsewhere. There is one interesting tidbit about Don Carlos, though: According to The Wrap, he has "very specific sexual taste." Interestingly, there was a Spanish prince named Don Carlos, and he was mad and sadistic — his sexual proclivities were violent, so if the show is drawing some inspiration from the real prince, this could get ugly fast. Please don't let this mean Reign is introducing its own version of Ramsay Bolton.

Finally, relative newcomer Saamer Usmani will be playing the role of Martin, a pirate who casually plays games with the monarchs. He is also a womanizer; although, from the description, it doesn't sound like the women will mind sharing him. Will Mary end up tangled up with Martin? Or is he just going to pester Bash and Francis? His interest in riling up those in charge points to trouble.

More: Do you ship Mary/Bash or Mary/Francis? Sound off here

All three characters are recurring, but their addition to the cast suggests the world of Reign is growing larger and more dangerous in Season 3. These three men descending on the Court is only going to cause more disruption, and each one of them could pose a threat to the stability of Mary's rule in their own way. They are all handsome, but beneath those gorgeous faces are three men who are up to no good.

6 Problems with Kim Kardashian's latest pregnancy update

$

Ever since the reality star announced her pregnancy and confirmed she was having a boy earlier this summer, the internet has speculated about the validity of her news and has come up with some interesting conspiracy theories regarding Kardashian's pregnancy situation — including rumors that she's faking her pregnancy and whispers that she's not carrying the baby but is using a surrogate. As per usual, Kardashian isn't letting the controversy get her down, and some of her recent social media musings are actually adding fuel to the fire.

Over the weekend, the middle Kardashian sister shared two postings that really got people talking.

More: NPR listeners rebel against Kim Kardashian's interview in a harsh way

First, she tweeted a seemingly benign message about how far along she is and her weight gain.

Kim K weight gain tweet

Kim K weight gain tweet

Seems pretty innocent, right? Here are some things wrong with this tweet.

1. Kardashian reportedly underwent in vitro fertilization

US Weekly user comment

Image: Us magazine

As the above Us magazine commenter points out, if Kardashian really underwent in vitro, she would know exactly when she conceived. "I could see a couple of days for the embryo to implant but not two weeks," noted another commenter.

"She would have known the exact weeks, which she told a few weeks ago. Holy tamale. This woman is a pathological liar. Just my opinion," added another person.

One woman confirmed the other commenters' suspicions. "When you conceive via IVF, you know the exact date of conception," the woman wrote. "I am exactly 19 weeks, 2 days pregnant today — I know this because I have to do IVF to conceive."

Obviously, the lapse is making people wonder if Kardashian even really used IVF to conceive.

2. She's beating her 20-pound weight gain to death

Us Weekly commenter

Image: Us magazine

While it's cool that Kardashian appears to be comfortable with the weight her body has taken on to support her pregnancy, some hypothesize it might be an effort to bring out the naysayers and create even more publicity for her and that she's using her baby to leverage her fame.

More: Kim Kardashian's almost naked photo shoot branded "disgusting" (PHOTO)

Shortly after yesterday's tweet, Kardashian posted a photo of herself on Instagram with a caption claiming she uses a magical drug to help with her morning sickness.

Kim K insta 1

The message accompanying the photo is under the guise of helping other women suffering from morning sickness, but not everyone believes Kardashian's Diclegis plight is benevolent.

More: Kim Kardashian having a boy is no accident

3. It's all for the money

Us weekly commenter

Image: Us magazine

It's clear Kardashian is getting paid for this post, and people feel it's a little bit low for her to be profiting off her pregnancy in this manner. "The label on the bottle looks Photoshopped. I feel she just held a white bottle and said 'someone sponsor me,'" said one internet user.

To be fair, lots of celebs hawk products for profit. The difference here is that Kardashian is profiting by selling a product to women who are in a particularly vulnerable situation.

4. She's promoting a chemical drug

Us weekly commenter

Image: Us magazine

A lot of people seem to be concerned that Kardashian is promoting pregnancy drugs, especially when there are more natural remedies for morning sickness. "I'm nauseous every day, but not vomiting," noted one Us magazine reader. "I would never take anything, though. You steep some ginger and eat some saltines!"

5. The morning sickness vs. weight gain conundrum

Image: Us magazine

Kardashian claims she's gained quite a bit of weight in a fairly short amount of time, but she also says she has really horrific morning sickness. A common theme among women on the internet who are suffering, or have suffered, from morning sickness is that they had a heck of a time keeping weight on, let alone gaining it.

We're not saying Kardashian doesn't have morning sickness, because it isn't outside the realm of possibility that she does and has still managed to gain weight, but if she doesn't and isn't really using Diclegis, it makes the fact that she is shilling a chemical product to pregnant women that she's never even used that much worse.

6. She doesn't seem to have the usual reaction to Diclegis

Image: Us magazine

Despite the fact that the drug is basically a combination of "B-6 and Unisom" and causes extreme drowsiness, according to one commenter who uses it, Kardashian doesn't seem to be slowing down. It's raising more red flags about the validity of her claims.

Sadly, it appears that Kardashian isn't telling the truth about some aspects of her experience and it's causing people to believe that she didn't use IVF, doesn't have morning sickness and possibly isn't even really pregnant at all.

What do you think? Is Kardashian telling the truth about her pregnancy?

Little is known about the documentary so far. As a matter of fact, nothing has even been officially announced. However, People is reporting that sources at TLC have told them all about the next partnership between the Duggar family and TLC.

We knew their partnership wasn't finished just yet. Upon TLC's announcement that they were canceling 19 Kids and Counting, the Duggar family quickly released a long-winded and somewhat confusing statement. In it, however, they also made mention of another project already in the works, adding that they "look forward to working with TLC" and "hope that it is an encouragement to many." In TLC's announcement, they did also mention that a child sex abuse documentary was in the works, but they hadn't mentioned it would directly relate to the Duggars, however.

Now, it seems, TLC has found another way to exploit television's biggest family. People reports that two of Josh Duggar's victims, his sisters Jessa Seewald and Jill Dillard, will appear in the documentary. According to People's sources, the network will partner up with multiple organizations that specialize in advocating for child sex abuse victims as well as victims of rape and incest.

More: TLC's initial response to the Duggar scandal was beyond disappointing

News broke of Josh's sexual altercations earlier this year, though they actually happened several years ago. After rumors flew and the media frenzy reached ultimate heights, the Duggars took to Fox to share their first post-scandal interview. In it, they claimed Josh received "counseling" by leaving the family for the summer and working with a friend's construction agency. During the interview, Seewald and Dillard both spoke with Fox and expressed their forgiveness of their brother and eagerness to put the whole thing aside. Then, after waffling on a decision for several more weeks, TLC finally canceled the much contested show that made the Duggars famous, 19 Kids and Counting.

Hopefully, this Duggar-backed documentary offers more and better counseling than praying and working away a sex abuser's issues. Perhaps TLC and the Duggar sisters can work together to shine better light on the proper way to console a sexual assault victim post-abuse.

We'll just have to watch and see.

Bristol Palin's first baby bump selfie doesn't fare well with fans (PHOTO)

Bristol Palin has posted her first selfie sporting her hard-to-see baby bump while celebrating a work anniversary. And while most pregnant women garner ooohs and aaahs over their growing bellies, Palin got hate. She captioned the photo, "Celebrated six years working for the best people I know. This place is my home (I actually have a job #shocker)."

More: Bristol Palin apologizes to fans in open letter after canceling her wedding

Aside form the conservative shade, I see nothing wrong with this pic.

Palin confirmed she was expecting her second child in June, saying, "I know this has been, and will be a huge disappointment to my family, to my close friends, and to many of you. But please respect Tripp’s and my privacy during this time." She also later posted, "I do not want any lectures and I do not want any sympathy."

And while she claims the pregnancy was planned, its announcement came weeks after canceling her wedding days before it was supposed to take place and after years of being an advocate for abstinence only, so it is fair to say that she has been a little on the defensive since she made her big announcement.

She also said, "Everyone knows I wanted more kids… believing I was headed that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn't go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on."

So even though the 24-year-old has set the record straight, folks still seem to want to make sure she knows they think she messed up and put their hate and condemnation of her most recent pregnancy out there.

While most of the comments on the photo on her Instagram account are positive, the comments from other places, like Us Weekly, are not too nice.

Highlights include comments like, "Two kids with two different baby daddies??? She better not open her wide mouth and criticize others from now on.” Another comment reads, "Hypocritical and revolting woman."

Many commenters are quick to point out the hypocrisy of asking for privacy and then posting baby bump selfies.

And while what they are saying does have some merit, she is still allowed to be proud of her growing belly, just like every other pregnant woman. Baby bump pics are almost mandatory for expectant mothers; there was no way she wasn't going to show hers off, no matter the circumstances.
