Giuliana Rancic finally responds to all the 'too skinny' body shaming

During an interview with People magazine, the petite anchor responded to the shaming and the speculation that she has an eating disorder, saying, "Some people were saying, 'The cancer is probably back.' And they were accusing me of every eating disorder. I thought to myself, 'God, if someone really thought I had an eating disorder, what a horrible way to approach it.'"

More: Telling a woman to 'eat a cheeseburger' isn't pro-curves, it's ignorant

While Rancic revealed she does not have an eating order, nor has her cancer come back, she is taking cancer-suppressing medication (and has been since 2012), which she claims has had an effect on her weight (according to her oncologist, the medication can cause weight loss).

"I started noticing that I was eating a lot, but not gaining weight at all," Rancic told the magazine. "I was concerned."

More: Giuliana Rancic body-shamed yet again, but over a photo with her son (PHOTO)

"It's really hurtful," Rancic continued, addressing the skinny shaming she has been facing in recent months. "I'm sorry that some people think I'm disgustingly skinny, as they put it, but there's nothing I can do. I'm lucky that I even have the type of cancer that reacts to the medicine."

Despite the Fashion Police host's tiny frame, she admits to eating more than all of her friends, and she enjoys her food.

"I eat more than any of my friends," she said. "I eat a very robust, healthy, balanced diet and dessert almost every night. I'm not hiding from anything."

More: Giuliana Rancic was viciously attacked for her appearance at the Golden Globes (PHOTOS)

But the constant speculation and talk about her weight is negatively affecting Rancic's self-image and becoming a distraction from what she does. Now, instead of focusing on her work, people are more concerned with her body.

"I look in the mirror and it's hard for me," she said. "I am really thin. I want to look fit and beautiful and sexy, and I can't."

"I never want my weight to distract people from what I do," she said. "But it is becoming a distraction, [whenever] I wear something sleeveless, show my arms, my back."

Indiana has been making headlines for some pretty controversial reasons of late, thanks to their discriminatory bill that was passed last week that allows businesses the right to deny service to homosexuals in the name of "religious freedom."

So, O'Brien decided to shed some light on the bill and reach out to Indiana's "self-appointed religious freedom czar" Don Biederman to find out more.

More: Marshawn Lynch vs. Rob Gronkowski: 12 one-liners from Conan (GIFs)

Biederman insists that the law is not discriminatory at all, and what it does is "prevents discrimination against good, church-going folks who just want their businesses homosexual-free."

O'Brien then goes to point out that "you can't just identify every homosexual at a glance," to which Biederman explains that you can if you have done the research.

And what research has he done, you ask? Just "thousands of hours studying the habits of homosexuals by reading their literature and watching their erotic adventures on DVD."

More: Conan O'Brien gets opinionated on Charlie Hebdo murders (VIDEO)

Not to mention that he has a "highly refined" gaydar.

"If I sense there's a homosexual nearby, my gaydar goes off, and my penis instantly lengthens and hardens, veering up defensively," Biederman informs O'Brien — just so it's clear, this is all a joke, and a pretty hilarious one at that.

Teresa Giudice and her family pose for bizarre prison photo shoot (PHOTO)

In her first photo since she entered the Danbury Federal Correctional Institute to serve her 15-month sentence for fraud, the The Real Housewives of New Jersey star can be seen with super curly, much shorter hair and significantly less makeup than her normal done up visage.

OK… In reality, she looks completely different.

Teresa Giudice's prison photo

Teresa Giudice's prison photo

In the Us Magazine cover photo, she is posing in her green prison jumpsuit with all four of her daughters and her husband, Joe, but the magazine, for reasons unknown, cropped out the two older girls.

Now, Giudice doesn't look bad by any means, and if you take a closer look, you will realize her nails are still perfectly painted, and you might stop to wonder how she still looks so well put together.

We have previously heard about her behind-bars beauty routine but now, Joe is spilling even more details about how his wife is staying fresh-faced, even at the expense of seeing her family.

More: 6 Insane special treatments only Teresa Giudice is getting in prison

Joe Giudice told the Daily Mail his wife has made friends, but to us, it sounds more like servants.

He said they help dye and style her hair, they work out with her and they even do her hair and nails for her.

"It's kind of like a low-budget spa. She's got a little group she hangs out with and does her thing with every day, and who she goes to the gym with and who she hangs outs with, and who does her hair and who does her nails, they have their little thing going every day."

Well, it's good to know she is working on her rehabilitation. You might think I am making it sound worse than it is, that surely this is only part of their day and they aren't really just able to spend all their time primping while laying around in their cells.

Well, Joe blows that theory right out of the water by telling us something even more outrageous than the fact that Teresa has an entourage in prison to keep her looking her best. "We were there last weekend. She made us wait an hour to make her hair, to do her hair. That was a little annoying. She said her hair kept coming out bad. I was like, 'Who cares?'" he said.

More: Teresa Giudice is going to publish a prison diary full of secrets

Wow. I can't even imagine someone would think having their hair done to perfection is more important than seeing their family for the one time a week they are able to while in prison.

And to make matters even worse, it seems like their youngest still thinks mommy is working and that she is not in prison.

More: Avril Lavigne, are you OK? The singer reveals she has health issues

Lavigne was diagnosed with a severe case of Lyme disease (the same disease that Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda Foster is suffering from), and it left her bedridden. Now, the singer is opening up about her battle with her health and her fight for recovery, in an interview with People magazine.

"I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed," the singer told the mag. "My friends asked, 'What's wrong?' I didn't know."

Upon learning that the cause of her failing health was due to Lyme disease, Lavigne admits she was shocked.

"I had no idea a bug bite could do this," she said, explaining that she thinks she could have been bitten by a tick last spring. "I was bedridden for five months.

"I felt like I couldn't breathe, I couldn't talk and I couldn't move," she says. "I thought I was dying."

More: Avril Lavigne reveals she's not in rehab, but does have an addiction

In fact, the Canadian star was so ill that her mother had to move in and take care of her while her husband, Chad Kroeger, was on tour.

"There were definitely times I couldn't shower for a full week because I could barely stand," she confessed. "It felt like having all your life sucked out of you."

Lavigne is now feeling much better, and she is very thankful to her fans for all their support over the months, but she also says that her illness has served as a wake-up call.

"This was a wake-up call," Lavigne explained. "I really just want to enjoy life from here on out."

Noose found hanging from tree at Duke University

The Duke Chronicle reports that the noose was taken down from the tree at 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, and officers are investigating.

Duke University Noose

Image: Duke People of Color Caucus via Tumblr

Just two weeks ago, students "chanted" a racist song at a black female student, which made reference to lynching, which caused Duke officials to send an email to students, reminding them of the school's commitment to racial equality. As a reaction to the incident and concern about racist posts by Duke students on the social media site Yik Yak, an anonymous group has formed — they call themselves The Duke People of Color Caucus, and they posted a message on their Tumblr page addressing this latest noose incident.

"This campus is not a safe space, and has proven beyond any doubt that it is a hostile environment for any and all black people."

True to form, Duke administrators have sent out another email following this latest racist incident, this time from Vice President for Student Affairs Larry Moneta.

"To whomever committed this hateful and stupid act, I just want to say that if your intent was to create fear, it will have the opposite effect," Moneta wrote. "Today, fear will be among the reactions students, and especially, students of color, will have. Be assured that the Duke community will provide all the support necessary to help us all get through this. In time, each of these cowardly acts of bias and hatred will strengthen our resolve to love and support each other."

In the meantime, students of color have to wonder if the Duke campus is indeed a safe place for them. Sickening. What is going on? College campuses used to be safe places of inclusion and tolerance — when did they become these bastions of racist behaviors? First Oklahoma University's disgusting SAE racist chant, and now a noose hanging from a tree? Get it together, people. Our college students are supposed to be our best and brightest, not our most disgusting. Here's hoping they get to the bottom of this soon.

I like to make a big batch of these carrot pretzels because they keep really well. I serve them individually for a quick treat or in a little jar of ground-up Oreos as a fun dessert. You can also package a few together in a cellophane bag for an edible gift.

Candy-coated pretzel carrots recipe

Pretzel rods are dipped into orange and green candy melts to make these adorable sweet-and-salty carrots. You can keep them simple, or add a little detail by drawing lines with a toothpick once the candy has hardened.

Yields 20

Prep time: 20 minutes | Cook time: 5 minutes | Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 10 pretzel rods
  • 1 bag orange candy melts
  • 1 bag green candy melts

Directions:

  1. Break each pretzel rod in half.
  2. Melt the orange candy melts according to the package instructions.
  3. Dip the pretzel halves into the orange candy melts, leaving about a 1-inch tip uncoated, then place onto a piece of waxed paper.
  4. Once the orange candy melts have hardened (this took about 10 minutes for me), melt the green candy melts.
  5. Dip the exposed tip of the pretzel into the green candy melts, then place on a piece of waxed paper.
  6. Once the candy is completely hardened, you can use a toothpick to draw horizontal lines in the orange candy portion and vertical lines in the green candy portion.

Joni Mitchell hospitalized: 6 Things to know about the iconic singer

$
0
0

1. She was the voice of a generation

You'd be hard-pressed to find a female musician more affecting in the '60s than Joni Mitchell. Thanks to songs like "Big Yellow Taxi," "Woodstock" and "Both Sides, Now," Mitchell — who Rolling Stone has dubbed one of the greatest songwriters ever — helped define the decade and beyond. The '60s simply wouldn't have been the same without her.

More: 7 Things Joni Mitchell, Taylor Swift have in common besides high cheekbones

2. She paved the way for today's pop-hybrid genre

Mitchell has always had a flair for the unique — her distinctive guitar style and super-broad vocal spectrum prove unparalleled. As her career grew, Mitchell began experimenting more with her music by studying jazz and working with venerable jazz musicians like Herbie Hancock and Charles Mingus. The resulting compositions were a mix of jazz, rock and roll and R&B. She was even one of the first musicians to toy with electronic music, or EDM. Sound familiar? Due to Mitchell's innovations in folk and pop music, the 71-year-old artist is the predecessor of today's pop-folk and other pop-hybrid musicians like Ed Sheeran.

3. Her career was born from rejection

It's hard to believe a woman of such immense talent who has made such a tremendous mark on the musical world was ever turned away, but it's true. Early in her career, Mitchell turned to busking — performing in the street — when all of the major folk clubs rejected her. To help pay the bills, she says she "worked in the women's wear section of a downtown department store."

4. She is a visionary

These days, the division of labor is often hyper-delegated. There are producers and backup singers and agents and a hundred other people that have their hand in hit songs. Mitchell, though, is the only record producer listed on most of her albums. Think that's impressive? She also relied on her background in visual arts to design the artwork for her albums over the years.

5. She isn't afraid to go against the grain

When it comes to using her voice, Mitchell is a pro both on the stage and off — she has never been afraid to stand up for the things she believes in. In 2002, Mitchell described the current music industry as a "cesspool" to Rolling Stone, and in 2007, following years of criticizing the music industry, walked away from touring altogether. In fact, as she jokes in the following clip, she actually "gave" many of her most well-known songs to other artists more partial to the spotlight.

6. She has influenced countless other artists

How could one even begin to quantify the profound impact Mitchell has had on the music industry? The folk singer's super-fans include Taylor Swift, Prince and Madonna — all who cite her as a major influence. This Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's songs have been covered by everyone from Hole and Counting Crows to Janet Jackson and Kanye West (sampled). And that doesn't even cover the references made to Mitchell in pop culture, from John Mayer's "Queen of California" to this little gem of a scene from the Sandra Bullock/Nicole Kidman flick Practical Magic, which sees Kidman's character singing "A Case of You":

More: Farrah Abraham's claws come out after Catelynn Lowell throws major shade

During the latest episode, which aired on MTV on Monday night, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood and Catelynn Lowell had a separate interview with Nessa from Girl Code, while Abraham watched from backstage. During the interview, Lowell mentioned that her feud with the Backdoor Teen Mom star was over — but Abraham disagreed.

"There's somebody still in denial... still in denial land of white trash!" Abraham said backstage, according to International Business Times. And things turned from bad to worse, because during Abraham's interview she went on to call her costars "fake."

More: Farrah Abraham talks about her future — and it doesn't include porn (VIDEO)

"From the past, I've never initially got along with the girls. They had some other issues with myself from the get-go," Farrah said of her strained relationship with the other Teen Mom stars. "I never spoke to them. I would never confide in them."

When questioned about how she feels about Portwood, Lowell and Bookout now, she admitted that they are definitely not her favorite people.

"Would I ever confide in people who are very fake and not real with themselves and kind of in denial and can't empathize with someone? Of course not!"

More: Teen Mom Maci Bookout's outlook on baby No. 2 has changed for the best

The adult film star clearly doesn't mind that she doesn't get on with anyone else in Teen Mom OG, and she has long stopped trying to be friends with them. Watching Abraham's interview from backstage, her costars shook their heads in disdain, with Portwood saying, "She just burned bridges with everybody. What an idiot."

Wowza! It's only Episode 2, and it looks as though this is only the beginning of a very nasty feud.

Maru cat really loves his new bag outfit (VIDEO)

Perhaps it's my tendency to be OCD, but there's just something about seeing things fit together perfectly that puts me at ease. On what is often the week's most stressful day, this may be exactly what you need to take a breath and realize everything's going to work out in the end.

Maru bag

Maru bag

It's certainly what Maru needed, as you can tell by how serene he gets once totally settled inside the bag. The most satisfying parts for me are when his seemingly too-large head pokes through the hole that his owner no doubt fashioned for him, and when he relaxes into the bag, becoming that perfect cat loaf. Cats feel safest when they're being pressed on all sides — perhaps it's time for all of us to invest in a human-sized bag or box that we can squeeze into when life gets overwhelming?

Divorced people open up about the moment they knew their marriage was over

As we all know, divorces don't simply happen. Even when there is a trauma and someone cheats or someone else lies or screams, there is always some underlying cause as well. People grow apart. They stop communication. They stop being there for one another. Even so, there is almost always a moment when it all ends.

That's the moment at the heart of Huffington Post's questions: When did you know?

Here are some answers:

WhenI knew

HowIKnew4

Five different women, five different moments. The only unifying factor here is that there was a moment that clarified it all. Anyone who has ever broken up or gotten divorced knows how that works.

I know for me, when I broke up with my live-in fiance, there'd been a series of tough moments between us. But it was the night where he followed me to a dinner with my friends and watched outside the window that I truly knew we needed to end. It was like the clearest moment. This needs to end.

And the next day, it did.

It doesn't make it easy. Breaking up never is. But this Huffington Post tag has been around for a couple years and keeps getting resurrected for a reason. Breakups happen. People have terrible experiences. But these moments of clarity make it a little easier to know when to say when.

Did you have a single moment you knew you had to end things?

New 'feminist' lingerie that's not supposed to be sexy

British designer Hayat Rachi knows just how we feel, so she came up with this amazing new lingerie line for real women that doesn't require us to be sexy in it. Rachi (like many of us) had had enough of all the overly sexualized lingerie she kept seeing in stores and decided to make a bold move against it. She believes lingerie should be about self-expression and body positivity, not sexual objectification. Her brand, Neon Moon, allows women to just be in their underwear, rather than be what men or society want them to be.

She says on her Kickstarter page, "Neon Moon won't place pressure on girls; instead, it will design and sell intimate garments that young women can comfortably, and confidently wear. It's important for girls to not compare themselves to unachievable standards of 'beauty', but to succeed in their own way, and not purely out of the male gaze."

Rachi put her life savings into creating this line of "nonconformist" lingerie, as she calls it. She also received significant funding through her Kickstarter campaign — she's already $3,000 past her goal, largely in part to Zooey Deschanel's support of Neon Moon on her Facebook page. The New Girl creator and star loves supporting girl power, and this is that times a thousand.

Besides Zooey, she's received significant support and encouragement from feminists (men, women and transgendered) everywhere. Her goal, to show the subjectivity of beauty, is obviously a universal one. Check out some more of the shots from the line's first photo shoot and you'll see what I mean.

Images: Neon Moon

The lingerie has no padding or underwire, but instead is made of a simple bamboo material designed to fit your body, not the other way around. Also, you'll notice her models have been left untouched by Photoshop and don't assume sexy poses, but rather just appear to be hanging out, like we sometimes do in our underwear. The first collection is called Mon Dieu, and comes in four styles: Coucou, Bof, Tac-Tac and Non. While basic and comfortable, each style is super cute and colorful. Remember, just because it's feminist doesn't mean it can't be fun and cool.

Pricing is yet to be determined but Rachi intends to keep it extremely affordable because she truly wants all women to be able to wear it. As of now, sizing is small, medium and large, but she plans to extend that once production is in full swing. If you want to buy a bra or "knickers" now, you can do so by donating on Kickstarter. You'll receive your body positive lingerie by October 2015.

If you want to embrace yourself, including all your "imperfections," give this line a try. Let's put a stop to lingerie being all about society's standards by redefining those standards to fit us. As Rachi says so eloquently in her campaign video, "there's a very narrow standard of beauty in today's society and Neon Moon is set on changing the lingerie industry for the better."

Pregnant meteorologist faces critics

Pregnant meteorologist faces critics

Kristi Gordon, who works the weather desk for Global News, announced her pregnancy earlier this year, and with memories of her first pregnancy still fresh in her mind, she asked her viewers to keep their hate mail to themselves. This plea seemed to do the job for a couple of months, but then the trickle of negative comments began in earnest and eventually escalated into straight-up body-shaming.

She reports that most of the initial comments were sweet and supportive, but soon a few mild "suggestions" from viewers starting popping up, suggesting the tops she was wearing that were formfitting weren't professional. "We all know you are pregnant and if you wear the tops like your 1st child we will not watch anymore," one viewer wrote in. "Why don’t you wear nice looser tops, they look much nicer! Hope more people write in and say the same."

As her belly grew, the comments became worse and worse, and she was called a "hussy" and asked why she didn't have more respect for her unborn child. And then the comments became super disparaging and personal, especially from a few people who donned the name The Group when they wrote her. They told her she was gross, her butt was enormous and that she should "cover up or take time off."

Gordon wrote up her experience for Global News and explained that despite her determination to not let any of the comments get to her, that last one did, and she actually thanks The Group for this important reminder. "The negative thoughts seep in when you don’t even realize it," she writes. "Even a little joking comment could do some damage. Hopefully this can help us all be more aware of our impact on others."

Gordon's amazing perspective certainly comes in handy, but I have to question those who would be disturbed at something as normal as a pregnant silhouette. I can't even wrap my head around this thought. If a pregnant belly bothers you enough that you body-shame the woman toting it, then you have to take a good, long look at yourself and the reasons you're doing so. The woman isn't running around naked — she's sporting attractive, well-cut maternity wear.

She notes that she will not be buying new maternity clothes and that she loves her job and will not be taking time off. Pregnant women can continue to work, and it's OK if we see that her belly is large. That's kind of what happens. Saying a highly visible pregnant woman should dress in loose clothes or just quit is pretty backward, and I'm glad she can roll with the punches as she continues her pregnancy in style.

Ingredients and supplies:

  • 1 hollow chocolate bunny
  • 2 strips Oscar Mayer bacon
  • Frying pan
  • Paper towels
  • Sharp knife

Directions:

  1. Fry the bacon in a skillet until desired crispness. Pat dry with paper towels, and set aside.

  3. Heat the knife by running the blade under very hot water over a sink, then dry the knife completely.
  4. Using the dry, warm knife, gently cut the bottom off the bunny. Set the bottom piece aside.
  5. Insert bacon slices into the hollow bunny, breaking the bacon into smaller pieces as needed to completely fill the hollow cavity.
  6. To reseal the bunny, heat the knife once more by running the blade under very hot water over a sink. Dry the knife completely.
  7. Replace the bottom piece onto the bunny.
  8. Slowly run the flat side of the knife back and forth over the seam, melting the chocolate and resealing the bottom.
  9. Enjoy the bacon-y surprise with friends and family.
Can you imagine anything cozier for your eggs than a bacon nest? Not only are these perfect for chocolate eggs, but there's no reason you couldn't serve your breakfast in these too. Bacon nests all around.

Ingredients and supplies:

  • 3 strips Oscar Mayer bacon
  • Hard-boiled egg, chocolate or candy of your choice
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Kitchen shears
  • Paper towels

Directions:

  1. Using the kitchen shears, cut each bacon strip lengthwise into 3 long, skinny strips.
  2. Line the microwave-safe bowl with paper towels.
  3. Place the bacon strips in the bowl to form a loose nest, making sure to build up the sides of the nest with bacon strips.
  4. Wad up a paper towel, and place it in the center of the nest, then tuck 1 more paper towel into the bowl.
  5. Microwave at full power for 4 to 5 minutes or until the nest reaches desired crispness. Let cool in the microwave for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the paper towels, blot the bacon nest to dry it, and serve with your favorite Easter candy or hard-boiled egg in the center.
Admit it... you hate that fake green Easter grass that somehow ends up in all the nooks and crannies of the house, only to be found months later. I guarantee that will not be a problem with bacon Easter grass. This might even get gobbled up before the candy is.

This savory Easter grass is as easy to make as cutting your bacon into thinner strips and frying as usual. Instant salty treat.

Indiana gets HIV outbreak after shutting down Planned Parenthood

$

The outbreak is the largest in state history, and as a result, Governor Pence had to declare a public health emergency last week. HIV epidemics are much more common in urban areas, where there are more people per square mile, so why did Austin, Indiana, a small town in Scott County, get hit so hard? The CDC is pointing to a surge in intravenous drug use among a rising number of people who live below the poverty line.

The only public health facility in the county where locals could get tested for HIV was the Planned Parenthood center, so when that was forced to close due to major budget cuts, there was nowhere for people to turn. The cuts to funding began in 2011 due to a local political campaign to combat the free health care provider. Since then, four other Planned Parenthoods have closed their doors, leaving rural counties like Scott without an affordable testing and treatment center.

The state-imposed Planned Parenthood budget cuts were drastic, to say the least. Between 2005 and 2014, their funding dropped by about half, from $3.3 million to a meager $1.9 million. As a result, many of the smaller clinics in Indiana simply couldn't keep up with the rising costs required to remain competitive and useful medical facilities, so they had to close. In many cases, they were the only facility in the area that offered HIV testing.

While this statewide battle against Planned Parenthood originated from conservative anti-abortion campaigns, none of these five smaller clinics offered abortions. However, now that Scott County is facing an epidemic, Indiana is hastily trying to assemble several pop-up clinics to help keep it at bay. Most think the attempt is too little too late.

Patti Stauffer, Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky's vice president for public policy, told Huffington Post, "Without a testing facility until a few weeks ago is a glaring example of the kind of public health crisis that results when prevention and testing are left unfunded."

Likely in response to the shuttered five smaller clinics, HIV testing at the remaining 25 Planned Parenthoods in Indiana and Kentucky has skyrocketed over the last few years. They administered 8,000 tests in 2014, a staggering 1,000 more than the previous year. If there had been any indication that an epidemic was on the horizon, that was it.

Planned Parenthood spokespersons are using this devastating situation to get the attention of Indiana legislators and make them understand the importance of public health care.

"We applaud the state's public health officials in acting to address this epidemic, but we also encourage our legislators to adequately fund public health efforts to protect all Hoosiers from future health crises from HIV and other devastating outcomes," said Stauffer to Huffington Post.

Hopefully this terrible series of events will get Indiana state officials to see the light and increase funding to Planned Parenthood to help keep similar outbreaks from surfacing. Governor Pence is already attempting to right the wrong by calling for a needle exchange program to help curtail the epidemic. Let's hope these late responses make a difference.

Woman delivers baby at work, hides deceased baby under desk

Baby found dead under desk

Baby found dead under desk

Ceva Logistics in Redford Township, Michigan, was the site of the unhappy discovery. Employees had heard moaning coming from a nearby bathroom, and when they went to investigate, they found blood everywhere. They were alarmed, because even a little bit of blood would warrant an inquiry on the status of the other staff, and reports say that blood was all over a bathroom stall.

They then went around to make sure everyone was OK, and everyone answered — except for a 26-year-old woman. When they noticed she was also bloody, they called the police, who investigated the scene and unfortunately found a dead baby under her desk, stashed away in a bag.

Both mother and baby were taken to the hospital. The infant was officially pronounced dead upon arrival, and an autopsy was performed. The results of that autopsy are still pending. Before the investigation can proceed, they will need to determine if the baby was stillborn, died after delivery or if a homicide is suspected, and the autopsy report can help answer that question.

Nobody at the business knew the woman was pregnant, and grief counseling has been offered to the 150-plus employees at the location.

This story is sad for many reasons — that the woman felt she needed to hide her pregnancy, that her co-workers were treated to an unwelcome horror show in the bathroom and that the infant was possibly murdered by its mother.

I can't imagine going through labor and delivery in a semi-public bathroom and then trying to go back to work while my dead infant was stowed away under my desk in a bag. Regardless of whether the baby was born alive or dead, the mother should have made an effort to get help when she went into labor, and even accounting for the possibility that she didn't know she was pregnant or in labor, once the baby was born, she should have gotten help right away.

It's difficult to speculate on her reasons when we don't know exactly what happened, but hopefully the autopsy will bring at least some answers to light.

More: Nicki Minaj just achieved something no other woman ever has

The little boy, whose name is Donny, began to cry when he met his idol, telling Minaj, "I've been dreaming of this moment for so long."

The "Bang Bang" hit maker responded to Donny by giving him a massive hug and holding him gently against her bosom (which was bulging out of her tight sparkly top), and what happened next was rather cheeky, because you could instantly see the little boy's tears turn into a massive grin.

Minaj thought this was pretty hilarious, because she took to Instagram to share a picture of the moment — which pretty much proves that her boobs have healing powers.

Iced tea causes man's kidneys to fail

Unfortunately too much iced tea is actually really, really bad for you. And it's a lesson a 56-year-old man in Arkansas now knows too well. The man will now likely be on dialysis for life thanks to his 16-cups-of-iced-tea-a-day habit.

Black tea contains a lot of a compound called oxalate, which can harm our kidneys, according to Live Science. That said, this man was drinking a gallon of the stuff a day. So does our typical consumption cause as much of a problem?

Doctors seem to suggest no. That's comforting, right?

Unfortunately we all are probably consuming more oxalate than we should be anyway. It is found in spinach, chocolate, nuts, wheat bran and many other common foods. The recommendation is 50 milligrams per day, but many of us are consuming more like 152 milligrams to 511 milligrams. Yikes.

Personally, my takeaway is that no matter what the drink, there is nothing that compares to plain old boring water. Water rocks, and it's usually free. It clears the skin and flushes the system, and so long as you drink the recommended amount, it won't kill you, hurt you or maim your body.

So yes, let's drop all other drinks. Except coffee. Let's not be rash here.
