James Corden is making his late-night presence known in a hilarious and big way.

The new Late Late Show host's most recent skit, "Carpool Karaoke," is spot-on with a huge guest star: Mariah Carey!

He thanks her for riding with him and then turns on some tunes. Not surprisingly, several of Carey's most famous chart-toppers are played. Corden and Carey proceed to trade turns belting out lines.

This skit is so good, you feel like you're sitting in the car with them, not watching a late-night show.

Their flirting is fantastic, and Corden couldn't be funnier.

Check out the entire video.

Prosecutor in Alps plane crash says it was intentional

The black box recorder from the flight seems to suggest that the co-pilot took control of the airplane, locked the other pilot out of the cockpit and headed straight into a mountain at more than 400 mph. Apparently there is some indication that passengers screamed in terror the whole way down.

Words cannot adequately express the horror.

Some horrifying facts we have on this plane:

  • A group of 16 young exchange students was on board the plane. All are thought dead. They were also traveling with two teachers. They were from Joseph-König-Gymnasium in Haltern am See, Germany. The group had traveled to Barcelona for an exchange program.
  • The plane was flying from Barcelona, Spain, to Düsseldorf, Germany. It crashed on Tuesday in the French Alps.
  • It is likely that all 150 passengers and crew aboard the doomed flight were killed.
  • Of the 150 passengers, at least 67 were German, another 45 had Spanish names, two were Australian, and at least one was Belgian.
PlaneCrash

PlaneCrash

  • A Spanish mother and her 7-month-old son, Marina Bandrés López-Belio and Julian Pracz-Bandrés, were among the victims. They were returning from a funeral.

There really are no words for a tragedy like this. Every victim deserves their own special memorial. Every victim has family and loved ones who are in horrible pain right now. And no one has an answer. Why would someone do this? Could this really be the work of someone on a mission? Could someone really have watched a young mom and her baby, a group of high school students and so many other vibrant, living people get onto a plane, and then purposely crash it into a mountainside?

We hope people wouldn't be that cruel. But all signs seem to indicate that our hopes are wrong here. My heart breaks for everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.

The 10 Worst fictional dads

$

From deadbeats to drill sergeants, much has been made of "daddy issues." The bumbling idiot dad is an easy TV and movie trope, but every once in a while you stumble across the odd psycho or downright villainous jerk. Thankfully, you are unlikely to find too many dads like these in real life.

1. Royal Tenenbaum, The Royal Tenenbaums

royal tenenbaum garbage truck gif

Image: Giphy

Royal's failure as a dad didn't necessarily come from malice, but it takes a pretty messed up individual to fake stomach cancer just to mess with his ex-wife and kids.

2. Peter Griffin, Family Guy

peter griffin terrible dad gif

Image: Giphy

Peter is a selfish, gluttonous imbecile and a jerk to everyone from his wife to his neighbors, but especially to poor Meg.

3. Tywin Lannister, Game of Thrones

tywin lannister gif

Image: Giphy

Most of the dads on this list wouldn't be up for any sort of parenting award, but none are quite as awful as Tywin Lannister, who is as ruthless as he is unfeeling. You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't think he got what he deserved.

4. Al Bundy, Married... with Children

al bundy

Image: Giphy

Al peaked in high school and spiraled downward from there, heading up a hugely dysfunctional family that all but hated each other's guts. Plus his stupid voice was annoying.

5. Darth Vader, Star Wars

darth vader gif

Image: Giphy

For the first half of his children's lives, he was nowhere to be found, making him pretty much the ultimate deadbeat. Eventually the gang was reunited, after which he actively tried to kill his offspring.

6. Harry Wormwood, Matilda

danny devito matilda gif

Image: Giphy

Ugh. Poor Matilda. Her dad was a sleazy used car salesman who thought her incredible gifts were freakish. Plus he was fond of piling on tons of verbal abuse.

7. Lucius Malfoy, Harry Potter

lucius malfoy

Image: Giphy

Who uses their own child as an assassin, knowing that the experience will likely traumatize and mar him for life? Lucius Malfoy, that's who.

8. Dr. Evil, Austin Powers

dr evil gif

Image: Giphy

Another deadbeat more wrapped up in his career than his child. Scott has to practically beg him for any kind of attention, for which he is routinely mocked.

9. Jack Torrance, The Shining

jack torrence gif

Image: Giphy

They don't have a Father's Day card for the dad who drags his family out to somewhere they don't want to be and then chases them around with an ax in a rabid attempt to murder the crap out of them.

10. Walter White, Breaking Bad

walter white pizza gif

Image: Giphy

People were always unfairly judgmental of Skyler, when Walt was the lying, manipulative jerk who abandoned his family to manufacture massive amounts of meth. He even screwed over poor Jesse, who wasn't actually his son but still looked up to him. Rude.

Gina Rodriguez gives Deadline's racist comments the benefit of the doubt

More: Shonda Rhimes reacts perfectly to racist article about 'ethnic casting'

On Wednesday night, the Jane the Virgin actress attended the Procter & Gamble Orgullosa night of Nuevas Latinas Living Fabulosa — an event celebrating Latina women and the success of the modern Latina — when she caught up with Refinery 29, who was curious to get her thoughts on Rhimes' reaction.

"I'd love to believe that we're misreading the tone of that article. I don't think there's anybody that reads that and agrees that anything's being taken away from anyone," she said, speaking to the writer's claims that there's been a noticeable shift toward minority castings, making many roles off-limits for Caucasian actors.

"Let's just hope the writer has the opportunity to clear up anything we've maybe misread as negative," she added.

The star then went on to explain that although many tend to agree with Rhimes' comments on the piece, she's eager not to blame anyone because she's tired of all the negativity in the world.

"I love to give people the benefit of the doubt. Nobody wants negative in their life," she said.

Individual no-bake mascarpone cheesecakes are a taste of spring

Rather than using cream cheese, I opted for creamy mascarpone, which is an Italian version of cream cheese. Its smooth texture and mild flavor work beautifully with the fresh lemon and agave in this easy, hassle-free dessert.

Whip up a batch of the filling up to two days in advance, and simply layer it into dessert glasses with fresh whipped cream and any type of berries or fruit you desire.

This is a great dessert for entertaining or for a light summer treat when it's too hot out to turn on the oven.

Individual no-bake lemon-mascarpone cheesecakes with fresh strawberries recipe

Creamy mascarpone is lightly sweetened with agave and given a touch of tartness from fresh lemons, then spooned into glasses with fresh berries and whipped cream.

Serves 6

Prep time: 20 minutes | Inactive time: 1 hour | Total time: 1 hour 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 12 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 fresh lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1/4 cup raw agave or raw honey
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, minced, plus extra for garnish
  • Whipped cream and toasted almonds, for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone, lemon juice and zest, agave or honey, vanilla and sea salt.
  2. Using a hand mixer, blend the mixture until it is very smooth and creamy and there are no lumps.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap, and place the mascarpone filling in the refrigerator for about 1 hour to chill.
  4. Meanwhile, wash and dry the strawberries. Carefully remove the stems, and dice into small pieces, reserving a few for garnish if desired.
  5. When ready to assemble the dessert, remove the mascarpone filling from the refrigerator, and spoon a small amount into the bottoms of dessert glasses.
  6. Layer with strawberries, and repeat until all the ingredients are used.
  7. Top with fresh whipped cream, almonds and a fresh whole strawberry, and serve.

More: Cate Blanchett learned the most beautiful lesson by becoming a mom

The Cinderella star was there to talk about her new movie, but the interviewer, Jonathan Hyla, was far more interested in other topics, including what vodka he should have brought her and why he would be a really controlling parent. The questions were all in jest, and the Oscar-winning actress played along with him.

But the best part came when Hyla asked Blanchett about the cat in the film and how she managed to get the adorable gray animal to walk on a leash.

"OK, serious question, how were you able to get that cat to do what you wanted it to do on a leash?" Hyla asked, referring to the Russian Blue cat that Blanchett's character owns. "I tried to put my girlfriend's cat on a leash and it just never works for me!"

Cue the best response ever: a confused-looking Blanchett is blown away by this question and looks around for her publicist to see if Hyla is actually being serious.

"That's your question? That's your f***ing question?" she asks, before cutting the hilariously awkward interview short.

Three brothers were home alone in the Sugar Lane trailer park in Pasco County, Florida, and eating dinner when they began arguing over food. According to the report from ABC Action News

"The 13-year-old got a handgun, and shot and killed his 6-year-old brother, shot his 16-year-old brother, then turned the gun on himself, resulting in his death.

"The surviving 16-year-old called 911. He also made a social media post about the shooting using a cell phone, deputies said, and detectives have taken the device into evidence."

gun crime

I don't care if you are pro-gun ownership or against it. I think we can all agree that a 13-year-old should never have access to a gun. No one under 18 should. It's such a horribly tragic story, and there is a possibility the owner of the gun could be charged with negligence, which is how it should be. The boys' mother was at work when the incident occurred, and I'm sure she never thought a heartbreaking tragedy like this could happen to her family. According to the report, the scene was so horrific that a crisis intervention team was called for the responding deputies.

If you suspect someone might be considering suicide, or you have struggled with those thoughts yourself, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255). Parents asked to sign permission slip for kids to eat Oreos in class

$

One mother of a middle schooler, Main Line Housewife, couldn't believe the permission slip she was asked to sign for her son. Not for a field trip or special activity — so he could eat Oreos in class.

Oreo permission slip

Oreo permission slip

To be fair, they are Double Stuf Oreos.

The teacher, Mrs. Porter, is teaching about plate tectonics.

"The students will model plate movement and observe earth's features that occur as the plates move in this simulation lab," she explains on the permission slip. "They will be using a Double Stuff Oreo to simulate the 3 types of plate boundaries and the geographical features that are created at the boundary. The students may eat the Oreo after the investigation if this is okay with you."

It seems in a world of allergies and gluten intolerance and parents who demand only organic for their kids, even the simplest of treats, Oreos, have to be handled with the utmost care. And while most parents will join me in a hearty eye roll over the ridiculousness of an Oreo permission slip, the reality of school today is that instead of teaching plate tectonics, teachers are forced to police their students' food.

Schools have even banned birthday cakes and other treats because it's just too difficult to make sure none of the kids with special diets and allergies are exposed to the wrong foods.

Mrs. Porter is just trying to find some interesting way to get kids excited about science. I bet her Oreo plate tectonic lesson is really fun and the kids love it. And I can imagine her sitting at her desk, looking at her lesson plans and saying to herself, "I better cover my posterior and let parents know their kids might be eating an Oreo. I don't want to deal with angry parents later."

Mrs. Porter isn't the problem, folks. We are. Parents and communities have spent so much time beating the crap out of our teachers and treating them as adversaries rather than partners in raising our kids that this is the ridiculous result.

Can you imagine your parents getting upset about an Oreo? Not in a million years. Teachers used to be trusted by families to make decisions for their kids. That's simply no longer the case.

It sure would be nice if Mrs. Porter could spend her time on teaching instead of this administrative minutia, but that's not the world we live in. Sure, a permission slip so kids can eat an Oreo seems silly, but wouldn't you do whatever you could to protect yourself and your job from pissed-off parents?

The real victims of all this are our kids' school environment and the sanity of our teachers. If we want less of this, maybe we can all work together to try and chill out about what our kids eat.

What do you think about the Oreo permission slip? Crazy or smart?

Why was a mom blogger cyberbullied for sharing her pregnancy journey?

$

Venditti, 32, was actually putting together a different blog post when she came across some personal photographs. Looking at these, she realized she actually has more confidence in her body now even though it's curvier and less toned than it was pre-kids.

She was inspired to write the post What Having Four Kids (Including Twins) Has Done To My Body And My Confidence for her blog, Nesting Story, to share her experience with other moms.

"I made the decision that I would disassociate my body from my mind during my twin pregnancy and think of my body as a vessel," Venditti wrote. "Guess what… that worked! In fact anytime I'd start panicking about my size I would say to myself 'you are a vessel, you are a vessel'. It became my mantra."

She went on to say that being pregnant and having kids has instilled in her a new sense of pride in her body: "I get it, I am the thirty-something mom now with four kids and I am really proud of that. I am so much more confident with my body than I ever have been before. Anytime I start doubting my new curves or war wounds I look around the room and ask myself, how many other people in this room grew two people inside their body at once?"

More: Pregnant model skinny-shamed because her belly is "too small"

Much to Venditti's surprise, her post went viral, and an outpouring of positive comments and thank-yous followed. However, with the good came the bad: criticism and nasty remarks. This prompted Venditti to write a follow-up post, How Being Cyber Bullied After Going Viral Will Make Me A Better Parent.

"Although I don't have any pearls of wisdom or tricks on how to deal with cyber bullying, I can honestly look at my children and tell them that I have experienced it," she wrote. "I have had to process hateful anonymous words and be able to let them go. It's okay to feel it, address it and defend yourself when necessary and find a way to move on."

"I have learned that there are adult bullies out there and am learning how to take a breath, let it go and move on," she added.

She also addressed the negativity on her Facebook page:

Nesting Story FB

Nesting Story FB

It's hard to believe anyone would attack Venditti for what's ultimately an inspiring, honest post. Yes, she's proud of having carried and given birth to twins. And so she should be. Those of us who've carried only one baby at a time will be the first to acknowledge how hard that is, so having two of them in there (and coming out of there!) seems nothing short of incredible.

With her blog now receiving more attention than ever, Venditti is learning to cope with the pressure that comes with it. Last week, she posted I Didn't Know I Was Supposed To Be Striving To Be Flawless, in which she talks about the assumptions some people have made that she will have plastic surgery to tighten her belly area after she reaches her goal weight.

"I am flawed," she writes. "My flaws tell my story. Who I am. Where I have been. The hardships I have overcome. The people I have given life to. So, I will never say never [to plastic surgery], but right now I feel in awe at my body's ability to be pushed to such painful limits and come back from the war with more fight in it than ever."

How Beyoncé's definition of feminism is changing the game in Hollywood

$

Now starring in an updated version of Gigi on Broadway, the young starlet has found a new understanding of the equality inherent in the term "feminism," admitting, "I used to be on the fence about it." Hudgens explains her hesitation stems from second-wave feminism "because it gets to a certain place where it almost has the reverse effect, where it's so overpowering and so aggressive that it's like rather than just standing up for female pride and female rights, it becomes, like, 'I am the man.'"

More: Vanessa Hudgens obtains restraining order against delusional fan

Vanessa Hudgens Gigi

Image: Joseph Marzullo/WENN

Hudgens, who has been the focus of leaked nude photo scandals in the past, is no stranger to the shame of living in a patriarchal society. The former Disney actress, forced to publicly apologize for the violations in which she was the victim, wants to see women on an equal footing with men in society, but she doesn't want it to come at the expense of men. So what prompted her to finally call herself a feminist? "Now I feel like there's this new wave of feminists coming up that are truly about equal rights for women," she says. "I mean, Beyoncé is, like, killing the game, and I love her."

Beyoncé isn't the first or last person to promote the feminism = equality doctrine, but her unapologetic promotion of this ideal is certainly making waves in Hollywood. Others may be afraid of straying too far from the preferred polite feminism so many men insist on, but Bey suffers no fools. The Grammy winner's brash feminism has been criticized for everything from her performance attire to her provocative dance moves to taking her husband Jay Z's last name, but guess how much Beyoncé cares about those opinions.

Beyonce nope

Image: Giphy

Last December, Bey released a 12-minute short film called "Yours and Mine" in which she opened up about her fame, marriage and her views on feminism. Like Hudgens, Beyoncé originally shied away from the label "because people put so much on it." The longtime promoter of female empowerment explains, "It's very simple. It's just a person that believes in equality for men and women."

More: Beyoncé, Lady Gaga join forces to fight for women's rights

All it takes to cause ripples is a single drop, and Beyoncé's bare-bones, explanatory voice in the sexism debate has proven to be just that, regardless of how she dances or which last name she signs. And isn't that kind of the whole point of feminism? Putting it in these terms has given women one more way to embrace feminism, even if they've long feared the weight of the label.

Hopefully, Vanessa Hudgens won't be the last lady in Hollywood who takes Beyoncé's words — and gives-no-craps attitude — to heart. Insurgent star Shailene Woodley, who continues to denounce feminism in favor of "equalism," is one young actress who could use a little of Beyoncé's feminist schooling.

More: Shailene Woodley's latest interview proves she's a very confused feminist

Hollywood has room for all sorts of feminists. From the quiet ones who play nice with the boys, like Emma Watson and the #HeForShe campaign, to the loud, subversive ones, like Broad City's Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer — there's no wrong way to go about it, and no wrong outfit to wear while you do it. Beyoncé gets it, Vanessa Hudgens gets it. Your move, Hollywood equalists.

What end-of-life care really means for your loved ones

$
0
0

If you choose palliative care, it does not mean we are giving up on you or your loved one. In fact, palliative care often allows us to better treat a person. I know it's hard to resign yourself to the fact that you or your loved one's cancer, or congestive heart failure or chronic lung disease is not going away. You want to fight. You want to live, or you want them to live. Trust me, we want you to live too. Even in today's world, where palliative care has a strong presence, it is hard for most doctors to accept death, because it goes against everything we were taught — to heal, to cure and to save lives.

Palliative care is a spectrum, not an end point. Whether you or your loved one are months, days, hours or minutes away from death, we can help. Our focus is on comfort instead of fixing the unfixable, which allows us to explore all areas where suffering may hide. If you have ever lost a loved one, you are likely well aware that suffering is more than just physical pain. Are you spiritual or religious? We can find you a priest or pastor or other religious figure to speak with. What are your fears? What would you like your last days to look like: in the safe, well-staffed quarters of the hospital, where your pain is easily attended to, or in the loving, warm surroundings of your own home? Are you nauseated? Are you short of breath? And of course, are you in pain? When we're focused on searching for a miracle and exploring futile treatment options, we often don't have time to ask these questions.

If you have witnessed a loved one suffer in their last days, you may be terrified of what's to come. You may have seen the worst of death and dying and believe the process must always be painful. I want to know your fears. Share your experiences with me. Let me reassure you that death can be pain-free. I have witnessed it. Having an incurable illness leaves you vulnerable, I know. You may feel as if you have no control over your life anymore. You may feel that choosing palliative care is giving up the last bit of control you do have. In fact, acceptance will allow you to choose how you live your final days. Let's work together to take back control of what we can: to bring peace to your mind, body and soul. My hope for you is that your pain is controlled, you are comfortable without agitation both physically and mentally and that you are at peace — emotionally and spiritually. Tell me what you hope for.

For many, selecting palliative care means accepting something they aren't ready or able to accept yet. I know you are not ready yet, and it breaks my heart to see you suffer. I wish I could offer you a miracle treatment option. I wish I could turn back the clock. Let me help you through it. Let me offer you counselling. Let me offer you whatever support you need. Let me hold your hand and grieve with you. Let me explain to you what your diagnosis means so that there are no unknowns, so that you understand. Let me help you accept this very difficult outcome.

Remember to speak with your family about your wishes. Write these wishes down so you are always in control even when you can no longer speak for yourself. Be clear and concise in your wishes, and include your family physician so that there is no confusion. These open discussions will save your loved ones the heartache of making decisions for you in the future.

When it is my time to go, I know what I want. I know how I want to go. So do my parents and my husband. I'm not saying it will be easy, but death never is. Under oath, I spoke the words "thou shalt do no harm." There is nothing in medicine that exemplifies this better than palliative care.

5 Rules for teen drivers to keep them focused and save lives

$
0
0

In fact, according to new research from AAA, distracted driving is to blame for six out of every 10 teen driving accidents — four times the number of accidents officials previously believed were caused by distraction. Teens have by far the most crashes of any other group.

Thanks to in-vehicle video recorders, researchers were able to analyze the last few seconds before a teenaged driver crashed to see how many were caused by being distracted from the road. Out of the 1,700 videos analyzed, 58 percent of those crashed were caused by a distracted driver. Previous official estimates only attributed 14 percent of teen car crashes to distracted driving.

Here's an infographic that breaks down the study's findings.

AAA distracted teen drivers infographic

Image: AAA

Want to keep your teenager safe behind the wheel? Insist they follow these five non-negotiable rules to keep their distraction to a minimum. It will not only save their lives, but the lives of everyone on the road.

1. No more than one friend in the car at a time

AAA found that 15 percent of teen crashes were caused by a driver who was distracted while interacting with one or more passengers. A car full of kids, as any mom knows, is distracting, so limit your teen driver to a maximum of one passenger who isn't an adult.

2. Absolutely, positively no cell phone or other device while the car is moving

How many people tried to kill you on the road today while they were texting and driving? This is a no-brainer. Not hands-free, not speaker phone — there is no reason to handle your phone, tablet, music player or any other device while you're driving. Ever.

3. Mess with dials before you drive

AAA found that looking at something in the vehicle was the cause of 10 percent of teen crashes. Messing with the car's features, dials and controls or getting directions should never be done while the car is moving. Make sure you insist your teen drivers have everything set — from the temperature to the GPS — before hitting the road.

4. No grooming

Putting on makeup or fixing your hair is a bad idea behind the wheel for any driver, but a super big no-no for an inexperienced teenager. In the AAA study, grooming was the cause of six percent of teen crashes.

5. No music

It's important to teach your teen that driving is serious business that can have fatal consequences in an instant. Singing and moving to music in the car — which is something every single driver has done — was the cause of eight percent of crashes. And looking at something outside the vehicle caused nine percent of crashes. While no music while driving might seem like a strict rule, a general lesson about the importance of taking the responsibility of driving and the serious consequences of just a moment of distraction is probably a good idea.

Here's a video from AAA showing the seconds before a crash. But be warned, you might not ever want to hit the road again for fear of getting plowed into by a distracted teen. They're really terrible drivers.

The California roll actually got its start (or at least its rise to stardom) in California. Though it's very similar to rolls served in Japan, the California roll is thought to be from the U.S. and is one roll that is now very popular across the world.

5. Spam rolls

Hailing from the Hawaiian Islands, itself a place where many cultures collide and produce wonderful food, the Spam sushi roll is a piece of dubious Americana. Sure, no one in America really wants to claim Spam, but it does make a great roll.

6. Teriyaki chicken rolls

Americans, in general, seem to have more of a squeamishness around raw fish than their Japanese counterparts. That's why there's a movement to include cooked items in our sushi. Oftentimes this is cooked fish, but sometimes it's other meats.

7. Buffalo chicken rolls

This same need to have cooked protein in the sushi sometimes goes to eleven with the addition of a very strong piece of American cooking: Buffalo wing sauce.

8. Rolls covered in sauce

Saucy sushi

Actually, that's a good segue. Americans love to drown their rolls in eel sauce, Sriracha, spicy mayo, kiwi sauce, etc. That's an American tradition not found as much in Japan.

9. American sports rolls

One will never find a roll celebrating the Kansas City Royals in many Japanese sushi restaurants.

10. Pink Lady rolls

Last but not least, we end our list with a roll that's both cream cheese-based and sweet. Yes, the Pink Lady roll (on the left) is a dessert roll filled with sweetened cream cheese that's wrapped in rice and soy paper, then topped with chocolate and raspberry sauce. It's sweet, weird, cream cheesy and very, very American.

Fabulous Iris Apfel, 93, flirts with this unlikely fashion icon (VIDEO)

She's an iconoclast, and at 93 years old, she's still got it. I'm talking about none other than Iris Apfel.

In just about a month, Apfel will have a documentary released in theaters in which we see her schmoozing and rubbing elbows effortlessly with fashion gurus and unfazed by fashion giants such as Jenna Lyons and Alexander Wang, who fawn and praise her themselves.

But it is when she runs into Kanye West, who at least in his own mind believes he is a fashion legend, Apfel turns the charm way up. In the clip, which is from 2011, you can see Apfel stop, smile and begin by saying she is a big fan, which Kanye seems genuinely and endearingly surprised by.

Then the camera pans a front shot of Iris, and you see she is donning her iconic costume jewelry and large round glasses. Kanye compliments her, saying she looks very nice. She doesn't miss a beat; she bats her eyes and flirts so hard that I'm blushing for Kanye myself!

She says, "My goodness, coming from a handsome young fella, wow."

Baller. Watch the clip below, and her documentary will be released on April 29.

It's the stuff of dreams… or nightmares.

Jimmy Fallon is hilarious, so having him multiply seems like it could be awesome, right? Well... maybe.

Fallon got five wax figurines delivered to his dressing room before The Late Show last night, and what started out as a fun sing-a-long with his look-alikes turns into a nightmarish scene when they seem to turn on him during their performance of the Beach Boys' "Barbara Ann."

But he wakes to find it was all a dream. Or was it?

Check out the hilarious video here.

Apricot sticky chicken is your 30-minute dinner tonight

Sweet-and-sour chicken was so amazing as a kid before thoughts of "well, what the heck actually is this sauce?" started floating around in my head.

Sticky sauces make pretty much any dinner a million times better, and this apricot chicken proves it. All you need is a jar of jam, and you're on your way to a finger-lickin' good dinner in just 30 minutes. Want to keep things on the lighter side? Skip the breading step completely, and just do regular chicken with the apricot sauce. That'll take a few minutes off prep time as well as make this an even easier weeknight meal.

Apricot sticky chicken recipe

Reminiscent of sweet-and-sour chicken from the local Chinese takeout joint, this easy apricot chicken is made in just 30 minutes. Serve it over hot sticky rice.

Serves 4

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes | Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken breasts
  • 1 (10 ounce) jar apricot jam
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 cups water

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F, and grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium saucepot, combine the water and rice. Bring to a boil, then reduce to low, cover, and let cook until all the water is absorbed by the rice.
  3. To a small saucepot over medium-low heat, add the apricot jam, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Stir until it becomes liquidy, then pour all but 1/4 cup into the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Rinse and pat the chicken completely dry.
  5. In a shallow bowl, beat the egg.
  6. In another shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, salt and pepper.
  7. Dip the chicken into the egg mixture, and then coat it in the breadcrumbs.
  8. Place the chicken into the baking dish, on top of the apricot jam sauce.
  9. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how thick the chicken breasts are, until cooked through, flipping once after 10 minutes.
  10. Place the rice onto a serving dish. Place the chicken on top, and then drizzle the remaining apricot sauce all over the top of the chicken and rice.

Giuliana Rancic body-shamed yet again, but over a photo with her son (PHOTO)

Recently, she posted a super cute photo of her and her son at the park, and, of course, no one can just say things like, "how cute," or "it's so nice she is spending time with her son" or "what a good mom she really seems to love her child." Nope, almost nothing like that can be found. What can be found in spades are negative and disturbing comments about her weight and how sick people think she looks.

Giuliana Rancic pic with son

Giuliana Rancic pic with son

This is nothing new for Rancic, who is probably sick and tired of people being "concerned" for her health with backhanded comments that don't show concern at all, only contempt.

Some of the best: "I don't know what is going on G with your health but I wish you good health forever. You do look way too thin esp when watching E news. Maybe that is the Hollywood look but I hope it is nothing more."

And another gem, "Eat a cheeseburger @giulianarancic you don't look healthy!"

Now, there were several people defending the mother, but the overwhelming majority had something to say relating to their concern about her tiny frame.

Can we please set down some ground rules for the internet and get rid of all this body shaming?

Can we please stop being disgusted with people who are considered "too fat" or "too skinny" or that there must be something wrong with someone who is skinny? And furthermore, if there did, heaven forbid, happen to be something wrong with Rancic's health again, the last thing she could use is people telling her she looks terrible and unhealthy.

Get it together people. Can't you see a loving mother and not a body type?
