Jon Stewart single-handedly takes on Fox News and their lies (VIDEO)

He's been tearing it up with his monologues in the past few weeks. First, he put Mike Huckabee in his place. Then, he masterfully attacked Alabama and Kansas for their homophobic behavior. Now he's single-handedly taking on Fox News and their lies. Oh, and it only takes him six seconds.

More: VIDEO: Stephen Colbert gives girls the best advice ever

The challenge began after news of Stewart's departure from The Daily Show led Fox News to make some pretty harsh comments against the host, calling him "a little nasty" and "not a force for good." Some Fox commentators even went so far as to accuse Stewart of bending the truth for the sake of humor.

Stewart did not brush these comments off.

Instead, he challenged Fox News to a lie-off, but not before he put them in their place, pointing out that The Daily Show has someone on staff who "uses every fiber of his being" to ensure facts are reported correctly.

When accused of "poisoning the brand" of Republicans and conservatives at Fox News and beyond, Stewart showed some super-unflattering clips of Rush Limbaugh before asking, "How do you poison a cyanide factory?"

More: Is Jon Stewart leaving The Daily Show for NBC Nightly News?

He further accuses the network of being more concerned with "discrediting anything that they believe harms their side" rather than with actually searching for truth. And to prove that they're the ones who are actually lying, Stewart presents 50 Fox News lies... in only six seconds, thanks to a brilliant Vine.

More than sadness over not seeing Jon Stewart's goofy face every day when he's gone, this report just makes me nervous for the future of satirical news. After all, who will call out the political liars of this world once Stewart has left? I need his epicness in my life. Because it may be humor, but it's also truth delivered in the best possible way.

The model, who wed New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, in 2009, is celebrating the couple's sixth wedding anniversary today — and to celebrate, she gave fans this little treat.

So what does a supermodel wear to her wedding? Nothing less than a skintight mermaid gown covered in sequins!

This is only the second photo we've seen of the couple's nuptials, but this one shows the clearest view of her dress yet. Bündchen shared another last year, on the couple's fifth wedding anniversary, that looks like it could be from their first dance as husband and wife.

Just months after the wedding, Brady described the couple's "perfect" day to GQ.

"We planned [the wedding] in like 10 days, and it was perfect," he said. They held the ceremony in a Catholic church in Santa Monica, then afterwards, "We went back to the house and I barbecued aged New York strips. We had champagne, a cake, some ice cream. It was a great night," he said. "I think you always have this idea that weddings need to be 200 people and you invite everybody, and I'm all for it if people want to do that, but I think there was really something special about just having our parents there."

The couple later held a second bash at Bündchen's home in Costa Rica, but still kept it intimate with only 25 guests.

Six years later, the couple shares two children together, as well as Brady's son from his previous relationship with Bridget Moynahan.

The $100 million deal was negotiated by momager and star of the show, Kris Jenner, and is reportedly the largest deal in history for a reality brand. According to Page Six, it includes herself and her daughters Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall and Kylie Jenner for the next four years.

Bruce Jenner is not part of the deal and will not be appearing in Season 10 of the show, as previously reported.

Though the news just broke, the sisters are already celebrating. Kylie Jenner, who is just 17 years old, bought herself a $2.7 million bachelorette pad.

Meanwhile, Kim is celebrating her newly minted 27 million followers on Instagram with a thong selfie.

The deal not only covers Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but also future opportunities for the ladies. Kris is rumored to be working on a Kardashian YouTube channel, Khloé is expected to continue working with E! on the red carpet and with other hosting opportunities, and Kim may be producing some future upcoming shows for the network. All of these opportunities and more are also rumored to be included in the deal.

The investment is well worth it for E!, according to the New York Post. The ladies are worth a few thousand per tweet (Khloé apparently makes up to $8,000 per tweet), not to mention public appearances, modeling campaigns and books.

So far, E!, Kris Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian ladies aren't commenting on the deal.

Are you surprised E! wants to keep such a hold on the Kardashian family for the next four years?

13 Moments from Drew Barrymore's life that everyone can learn from

$
0
0
Through a turbulent childhood, a rough adolescence, failed relationships, career hiccups and other personal and professional issues, Barrymore has demonstrated her ability to rebound after tough times and better herself by triumphing through tribulation.
Perhaps the most impressive part of Barrymore's knack for making lemons into lemonade is that she always does it with a smile on her face. She just seems to have been born with an innate energy, as if she knows that the universe will always find a way to make things right.

Now that she has announced she's writing a new book, we can't help but wonder how much wisdom she will impart through its chapters. Here are 13 moments from Barrymore's life that most people can relate to and learn from, on one level or another.

1. Her first job interview

Barrymore was bitten by a dog at her first audition for a dog food commercial when she was 11 months old, according to contactmusic.com. Instead of crying, baby Drew laughed and landed the job. The incident not only proved that Barrymore was born with a resilient attitude, but also shows that sometimes when you're in a bad situation, the best thing to do is just laugh it off.

2. Landing the role of Gertie in E.T.

Barrymore's first major role was in the legendary Spielberg film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, when she was just 7 years old. While nabbing a part in a major motion picture and becoming a child star is a dream for a lot of people, the fame and pressure the film brought sent Barrymore on a downward spiral of addiction and other issues kids shouldn't have to deal with. Lesson learned: The thing you think your dreams are made of is not always what's best for your life.

3. Her first stint in rehab

Barrymore hit the party scene hard and began experimenting with drugs before she was 10 years old, which landed her in rehab at the age of 14. No one is invincible and above needing help from addiction.

4. Second rehab stint

Not long after her first stay in rehab, Barrymore ended up going back after a suicide attempt. After she emerged from the facility, she lived for a time with singer, David Crosby, who said that "she needed to be around some people who were committed to sobriety," according to People magazine. This shows us that surrounding yourself with the right people can be the key to success.

5. Being blacklisted in Hollywood

"I walked into [an] audition and the casting director just sat there laughing," Barrymore said in 1992, according to Hello magazine. "He said, 'I can't believe you have the balls to walk into this audition, Little Miss Drug Addict. Right, like we're going to give you this job.' I was blacklisted, big time," she added. If she had listened to that casting director and stuck her tail between her legs, we wouldn't know Barrymore as the amazing actress/director/producer that she is now. Don't ever let someone else tell you what you are, or aren't, capable of.

6. Her first marriage

At 19, Barrymore married 31-year-old bar-owner, Jeremy Thomas, after dating him for six weeks and the wedding was presided over by someone they found on a 24-hour wedding hotline, according to People. Barrymore filed for divorce less than two months later. The lesson here is pretty cut and dry: Don't marry someone you don't know!

7. Posing for Playboy

While she was still a teenager, Barrymore bared it all for Playboy magazine. The spread garnered a strong reaction from Barrymore's godfather and former boss, Steven Spielberg, who sent the actress a quilt with a note that said, "Cover yourself up." Feel free to be proud of your body and do what you want with it, but be prepared to deal with the consequences when people close to you have an opinion.

8. Formation of Flower Films

In 1995, Barrymore and her business partner, Nancy Juvonen, created their production company, Flower Films, and Barrymore's acting career took off like wildfire, proving that creating opportunity and success for yourself is always possible.

9. Divorce from Tom Green

After several years of dating, Barrymore and Green tied the knot in 2001, but Green filed for divorce just five months later. Both Green and Barrymore released incredibly warm statements about each other after the separation. Sometimes relationships just don't work, but that doesn't mean there is any less love or admiration between the people involved.

10. Her super-private relationship with Fabrizio Moretti

Barrymore was with the Strokes drummer for five years and she credited the success in the relationship to their decision to keep a low profile. "We don't walk down the red carpet and we don't sell our love," Barrymore told People when the couple was still dating. "That takes a lot of the pressure off of us because we don't care what people think." Barrymore and Moretti's romance can be a lesson to all of us non-famous people, as well: Keeping your relationship off of social media and away from public scrutiny is usually best for everyone.

11. Reconciling with her estranged father

In 2004, Barrymore reignited her relationship with her father in the last stage of his life, despite him not being there for her as a child. "I don't want to be crippled by things that happened in the past," she told People. Barrymore got the closure she needed to move on and be productive in her own life, something that's healthy for everyone.

12. Her appointment as the face of CoverGirl cosmetics

Barrymore became an easy, breezy, beautiful CoverGirl in 2007 and the company said she "emulates the iconic image of CoverGirl with her fresh, natural beauty and energetic, yet authentic spirit," according to the Washington Post. Be true to who you are, because people and success gravitate towards authenticity.

13. Taking a small role in He's Just Not That Into You

Despite being one of the biggest stars in the film's ensemble cast and being offered a bigger role, Barrymore says she chose a smaller part because it was perfect for her at the time. "I identified with that character," she said of playing Mary. "There were so many other great roles and there are so many awesome actors, I just wanted to step back and get into my character. I wanted to make her the one who is disenfranchised by technology. It was a perfect fit for me." Like Barrymore, the only one who knows what's right for you is you and you always have to do what's in your own best interest.

Kanye West had ulterior motives when apologizing to Bruno Mars

More: Kim Kardashian insists that she and Kanye West are happier than ever

The rapper has thrown shade at Taylor Swift, Amber Rose, Tupac, Jimmy Kimmel, Bruno Mars, Beck and more.

And while he and Swift have apparently patched things up since his infamous VMAs interruption — the two were seen hugging it out at this year's Grammys — West still has plenty of work to do before he's back in the music world's good graces.

More: Kanye West lost a ton of friends when he began dating Kim Kardashian

Apparently, West thinks Twitter is the appropriate place to make amends and Kim Kardashian's husband started with Beck.

Kanye West apologizes to Beck

Kanye West apologizes to Beck

This tweet was most likely trying to make up for West's behavior at the 2015 Grammys where the rapper almost grabbed the mic from the Album of the Year winner. At first, everyone thought West was joking, spoofing his behavior at the 2009 VMAs where he stole the mic from Swift.

But in an interview with E! after the show, it became very clear West wasn't joking. "I don't even know what [Beck] said," West explained. "I just know that, the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We aren't going to play with them no more."

Ouch.

Shortly after his apology to Beck, West released another couple of tweets apologizing to Mars.

Kanye West apologizes to Bruno Mars

Of course, this tweet came with an ulterior motive.

Kanye West apologizes to Bruno Mars 2

Kanye West apologizes to Bruno Mars 2

I'm assuming Kanye has people who will ask Mars' people about a collaboration. He doesn't need Twitter to reach the singer. Which means, I'm guessing, Kanye's people already tried this and Mars, rightfully, said no. So West is now heading to Twitter trying to get fans on board so Mars will agree to the song. Otherwise, why make it all so public so soon?

Do you think Bruno Mars should forgive Kanye West and collaborate with him on a song?

Leonard Nimoy dies: 5 Things we learned from the Star Trek star

More: Leonard Nimoy admits he is suffering from lung disease

Leonard Nimoy inspired generations as the logical and highly intelligent Spock, but he was also a human man who had much to teach us as well. Here are a few lessons we've learned from the man, the myth, the legend.

Don't be afraid of new things

Before he went to space on the starship Enterprise, Nimoy served in the U.S. Army and taught acting classes in Hollywood. He played a handful of small acting roles, including a Martian invader in a 1952 film called Zombies of the Stratosphere. Landing the part of Spock would prove to be his defining role, but Nimoy also went on to become an accomplished photographer, author, musician and director. This is a man who emboldened us to pursue life and to try new things, and to never be afraid of who we are.

More: Meet a mom who lived every kid's dream by going to Space Camp

Logic doesn't outweigh friendship

One of the undeniable draws of Nimoy's Spock was his ability to attack a problem calmly and sans-hysteria. Spock was smart. Logical. He always knew what needed to be done. But he also felt a deep loyalty to his crew, and — as the series continued — his friends, going so far as to sacrifice himself for them in The Wrath of Khan.

In real life, Nimoy echoed Spock's loyalty and friendship by maintaining his connection to the Star Trek family. Although he struggled at first with the largesse of Spock's fan appeal, he was able to recognize similarities between himself and his character, and to accept responsibility for the role — allowing him to embrace the Star Trek community (and its ferocious fans) as well. This generosity of spirit shone through, revealing Nimoy's all-too-human side, and endearing him to us for always.

Quit Smoking... Now!

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a lung disease that blocks airflow block airflow, making it difficult to breathe. Its primary cause is smoking. Nimoy himself asked his Twitter followers to quit smoking this past January, expressing regret over the tobacco habit that caused his COPD.

Leonard Nimoy smoking tweet

Leonard Nimoy smoking tweet

Treat others well

In a 2006 interview with the Jewish Journal, Nimoy explained that "in Judaism, there is a philosophical understanding that the highest form of charity is that which is given anonymously." The actor then went on to explain that he only recently began supporting projects and organizations in his name after realizing that in doing so, he would be able to encourage others to donate as well.

Over the years, Nimoy has devoted countless hours and funds to various philanthropic projects serving the arts, space exploration and cancer research. He is oft-quoted as having said, "The miracle is this: the more we share, the more we have."

Those are excellent words to live by.

Life is change

Not only did Nimoy exhibit a flexible artistic spirit, he pursued his different fields with commitment and dedication, demonstrating an acceptance that life is fluid, things change and it's OK to do new things with one's life.

In a 2009 interview, Nimoy told a reporter that his adventure in directing wasn't something he'd set out to do, but "I suddenly found myself with a directing career which I had enjoyed and I had enough of it. I directed I think five or six films — I had a good time."

For emotional beings, we humans sometimes have a hard time remembering that change is a part of life. Saying goodbye to Leonard Nimoy is part of that change, and although we don't have to like it, his final tweet reminds us of this truth.

Madonna's fall at the Brit awards was more serious than everyone thought

More: Grammys: Madonna suffers serious wardrobe malfunction — on purpose (PHOTOS)

During Madonna's performance of "Living for Love" on Wednesday, she fell down several stairs after her long cape was pulled by a backup dancer. She may have carried on like the pro that she is, and even reassured her fans via Instagram on Wednesday evening that she was "fine," but it turns out that everything was not fine.

During an interview with The Jonathan Ross Show — which, according to People magazine, will air next month — the queen of pop revealed she actually hurt her head pretty badly.

"I didn't hurt my butt, I hurt my head," she confessed.

More: Madonna says ageism is just as bad as racism

Madonna continued, "I know how to fall. I've fallen off my horse many times, and I tucked, and I have good core strength... but the thing is, I had a little bit of a whiplash, and I smacked the back of my head. So, there was a man standing over me with a flashlight until about 3 a.m. making sure that I was still compos mentis."

And it was not just her head that was wounded during the performance, but also her ego. Madonna makes a point of delivering flawless performances, so she was understandably upset by the incident.

"It was a horrible nightmare, because I like to be amazing," she said. "Seriously, I rehearse and I rehearse and I rehearse, so that when I do the show it's effortless and I create magic, and I did the opposite. I actually created a horror show for everyone."

We're pretty sure Madonna will never wear a cape again after that performance, but we are happy to know that she is OK now. And hey, maybe some people didn't even notice that she had an unplanned tumble since the lyrics to her hit track do include the words "watched me stumble."

Facebook plans to fight suicide with social media technology

The social media giant sought out the opinions of experts in the area of suicide prevention, including Forefront, Now Matters Now, Save and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, and found that those suffering from depression and suicidal thoughts can be helped tremendously through the simple act of connecting with someone else — something Facebook is pretty good at.

Facebook suicide prevention

Facebook is also rolling out a new set of tools it says will streamline reporting content that might indicate someone is considering taking their own life and connecting them with resources that can help.

"Besides encouraging them to connect with a mental health expert at the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, we now also give them the option of reaching out to a friend, and provide tips and advice on how they can work through these feelings," according to a joint statement on the initiative from Rob Boyle, Facebook product manager and Nicole Staubli, Facebook community operations safety specialist. "All of these resources were created in conjunction with our clinical and academic partners."

Not only will Facebook continue to staff a worldwide 24/7 team to respond to reports of content that could indicate someone is suicidal, but Facebook will then send them a note with links to material that might very well be lifesaving.

Facebook Safety post

Facebook Safety post

It's encouraging to see Facebook tackling the issue of suicide, which claims the lives of about 40,000 Americans every year. Next, it would be nice to see Facebook take on cyber bullying. The two are closely related. In fact, one British study found that half of all suicides involve an element of bullying and that victims of bullying are anywhere from 2 to 9 times more likely to contemplate suicide.

Taking the same approach to content that gets reported or flagged for content that could be part of a larger bullying campaign might go a long way and allow for critical intervention before permanent harm is done.

"Keeping you safe is our most important responsibility on Facebook," the company said in its statement. Bravo, Facebook, for having a conscience.

If you suspect someone might be considering suicide, or you have struggled with those thoughts yourself, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).

Are Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian becoming BFFs? The singer posted this photo of herself in the front row with Kim K. and 1-year-old North West at a fashion show.

"Beautiful Princess North," Beyoncé captioned the photo. North West is now a fashion show pro, as the toddler has been spotted at several shows sitting in the front row with her mom (and yes, she has thrown a few tantrums).

Beyoncé very wisely left her daughter Blue Ivy at home, but she did post this adorable snapshot of the mother-daughter duo on Valentine's Day with bees stuck on their faces, probably as a nod to her "beyhive."

Naya Rivera

Glee star Naya Rivera announced she and her new husband, Ryan Dorsey, are expecting their first child together — however the timing of the pregnancy announcement is raising a few eyebrows.

Rivera shared the news on Twitter and Instagram on Feb. 24 by posting the following.

On her website, Rivera posted a caption under the photo of the "bun in the oven," writing, "Surprise! We're having a baby! Ryan and I feel so blessed and can't wait to welcome the newest member of our family."

The timing of the announcement is interesting because Rivera's ex-fiancé, Big Sean, dropped his new album on the exact same day. To make matters even more interesting, Rivera and Big Sean broke off their engagement in April 2014, and Rivera married Dorsey just two months later.

Dorsey took to Twitter on Wednesday to clear up the reason why they decided to announce the pregnancy on the same day. He wrote that OK! Magazine was going to publish the pregnancy news and they wanted to announce it before the magazine.

"Even though it was way before we wanted to share...At the very least, thanks for the heads up OK so we could share it on our own.#Dadlife!"

No baby bump pics just yet, however, Rivera did post this wedding picture from Valentine's Day, as she kissed Dorsey in a gorgeous lace wedding gown.

Have you spilled one too many scoops in the darkness of your Gilmore Girls binge-watching blanket fort and lived to rue the carpet stains the next day?

Are you never quite sure what food you should serve at your next underground rave?

If so, your life is about to get wayyyy better thanks to 196 Below.

neon ice cream

neon ice cream

Australian company 196 Below just released a line of neon ice cream in three fruity flavors, all of which use UV-reactive liquid coloring to glow in the dark.

Not only does it glow, but in an equally futuristic bent, it's frozen using liquid nitrogen. And, just for bragging rights, the ice cream is also vegan and preservative-free. Gilding the lily? Yes. But that's what makes us want to get our hands on it all the more.

There are three flavors currently available: Pine Line, Mango Passionfruit and Raspberry.

Now here's hoping that this space-age snack makes its way to the good ol' U.S. of A., like now. Barring that, who's down for an Australian vacay?

15-Year-old babysitter makes almost half a million dollars a year

$
0
0

So how did this little entrepreneur do it? The idea actually came from her own experience with babysitters (which she probably remembers well, since it was only a few years ago). She was never thrilled with the sitters she had and felt there must be a better way to match sitters with families and children. "For what you're paying, your kids should be more stimulated," says the teen. "At 7, I would tell my mom, 'You need to get more bang for your buck.' It would drive me insane!" Noa told the New York Post. This kid already talked like a CEO before she was even a double-digit age!

She started building her nanny network through her own babysitting circle (yes, she was once one herself), at her gym and through college career websites. Each nanny is thoroughly screened through interviews, social media, background and reference checks, resumes and, of course, photos. If you're hired, you get put in a database that matches you with prospective families. The site originally charged clients $100 to $200 for a nanny match, but now it does it by rates, which can be anywhere from $15 to $25 an hour.

Since she's still a minor, Noa's father helped her open an LLC for her exponentially growing business. The company takes a standard 15 percent fee from each nanny's initial gross salary — usually somewhere between $50,000 and $80,000 — which seems incredibly lucrative, and I'm seriously considering applying.

Right now, the agency serves 191 clients in the New York City area and employs 50 full-time nannies and 100 babysitters, who work approximately 15 hours a week, but the agency is always looking to increase its numbers. Now, long-time, seasoned nannies are calling Noa up, looking to assume a spot in her database.

"Noa interviewed me on the phone. I had no idea she was a kid. I was intimidated — she's so well-spoken," says Dahlia Weinstein, 37, to the New York Post.

Her business has grown so much in such a short time that Noa needed to hire a CEO so she could still attend school and feign the life of a normal teenage girl. Cue Allison Johnson, a 26-year-old social worker who had actually initially applied to be a nanny.

"In the summer, Noa reached out to me and told me she was starting high school," Johnson told ABC. "I had no idea she was a minor. Noa's definitely unique. She's extremely advanced as far as being business savvy. We always saw this mutual respect for each other."

According to Noa's mom, Meredith Berkman, this entrepreneurial ambition is inherent in her. She told the New York Post, "Noa is a natural-born serial entrepreneur — from 6 or 7, she was always trying to start these mini-companies."

While she was certainly always ambitious, I'm sure her mom had no idea her drive would take her this far so fast. However, her decision to hire a CEO definitely shows she wants to hold on to some aspect of her kid life as long as she can. Her ambition is a powerful force, though, and we will no doubt see great things from Noa as she comes into adulthood.

Noa told ABC News, "I want to continue to see the business grow geographically with the number of clients and investors. I want to become the nation's leading child care agency." Based on her story, I would say that's a pretty achievable goal, Noa.

Yes, domestic violence can happen to anyone — even lesbians

All women — especially homosexual women — need to stand up and reveal that they too were subjected to a situation that might make them seem weak. I’m here to say, don't hide behind what has happened to you. Live in front of what you've survived, and stand strong.

Domestic violence in a gay relationship can occur on so many levels — the abuse can be physical, emotional, verbal and sexual. This probably all sounds so similar to that of D.V. in a hetero relationship, and that's because they are indeed the same. We just need to talk about it more, and we need to talk about how women suffer from it and how they overcome it, whether it's a man or a woman who abused us.

I knew that to accomplish what I needed to accomplish for myself in life, I had to hit the reset button, and what a giant reset button that was. To rebuild my life from the ground up, to be strong and it be real, to love myself and to know who I am. That's the strongest, most powerful force you can put into the universe.

These are some of the rules I live by now, rules I hope can help anyone who is facing domestic violence.

1. You cannot change someone who cannot see they need a change.

Once a person has placed their faults on you, it's only a matter of time before they find a way to manipulate you into believing you are the source of the abuse and therefore you need changing.

Positive, healthy relationships don't look the same as unhealthy, abusive ones. So we see this picture of what we desire and try our best to fit our current relationship into that idea, even when it may not be.

2. You are not weak. They are the weak ones.

I never once fought back, perhaps because I was in shock that this woman, who I believed to love, could hurt me with her words and with her actions. I know now I was blinded by that idea of us I had created, that I thought, in the end, once we'd put the abuse in our past, we'd ultimately be OK.

This type of rationalizing is not healthy. There should be a mutual respect between partners that is fact-based. So if you respect me for my career, then don't tell me I'm worthless and lazy because I need to go to bed early from a long day. This line can easily be crossed, and believe me when I tell you that if they cross it once, they will cross it again. You could be the strongest woman walking this earth, and they'll find a way to chip away at your self-esteem little by little, until you find yourself with zero self-esteem and no self-will to make a difference.

Waking up from that situation was one of the most liberating days of my life. To see my life as a revolving door was disappointing. Those cycles she put me through, they were scary to replay in my mind. I had prided myself on being a successful, strong woman, and the moment I stood up and said, "I'm done," that was the moment I decided to break the cycle.

3. If it happens once and you don't leave, you're accepting their behavior.

An abuser creates cycles to forgive themselves, not you. Once I was able to look back into what my relationship actually was, I noticed these clear cycles of behavior. First it would be words — terrible words that tore my self-esteem down to put me in a vulnerable state. I'd try to argue back but wound up allowing her to blame me for mimicking her feelings. This would lead to an explosive argument; she would lose control and attack me. Then I'd be upset, and she'd say it was my fault because I triggered her anger. She didn't want it to be this way but I made her that way. False.

4. You are the only one responsible for yourself, your actions, your feelings and, most important, your body.

You are not the reason they lay unloving hands on you. Those issues are rooted in something you cannot understand. It has nothing to do with you.

I can only accept that through those years of abuse, I was not vindictive. I forgave with a whole heart and tried my best to move forward. So much of her unhealthy personality was placed on my shoulders. She led me to believe I was unhealthy, and I began therapy, trying to find answers to why I could be so crazy as to force someone to be violent. My therapist, my voice of reason now, led me to the correct path to a positive, healthy life.

5. You will be able to forgive yourself with more and more distance.

You need to forgive yourself to become healthy again. No one can do that but you. You have to be willing to want something different, to know you deserve something different and to have the courage to make that happen for your life.

Just go. Move. Make it happen. Don't look back, and don't maintain communication. They have their own journey to face, and it shouldn't include you. I've rebuilt my life. I moved to another city. I took only my personal belongings but nothing I had built with her.

Shortly after, I met a friend who introduced me to the wonderful world of roller derby. Slowly I began to reshape my ego. I grew leaps and bounds as an educator. I have my own home, my own life and, most important, my safety. Derby propelled me with such intense, quick-forward motion that I barely felt the months pass by. It helped me discover this strong, fun, loving, intelligent, athletic, "I can do anything" person who I cannot lose again.

In fact, I will not lose again.

Kate Middleton rushed to the hospital after fearing for her baby's health

The former Kate Middleton, who is thought to be approximately seven months pregnant, was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering severe abdominal pain that she feared was premature labor.

"Kate was frantic. William wasn't home, and she was seriously concerned about the pain she was in," a source told Star Magazine. "She was doubled over in agony, and her immediate fear was for her unborn baby. So she had her aides call emergency services."

"At first they thought she was in labor, but her contractions weren't regular enough to warrant them preparing for birth," the source said.

The timing of the incident is unclear, but Prince William is currently on an official visit to Japan — so it's a good thing Kate's pains were determined to be Braxton Hicks contractions.

More: 11 Signs you're too obsessed with Kate Middleton and the royal family

What the heck are those? Braxton Hicks is basically false labor — for some women it barely causes any discomfort, but for others the pain is nearly indistinguishable from true labor pains. The main difference is that Braxton Hicks tend to be sporadic and irregular, and don't bring on the other physical signs of labor that real contractions do.

There is no word from the palace confirming or denying this story, but we do hope for poor Kate's sake it's not true. She already had to suffer through hyperemesis gravidarum twice, and the third trimester of pregnancy is tough enough without having to deal with the scare of false premature labor!

Why did Gomez feel it was so important to touch the life of this one struggling person in particular?

"Selena cares so much about her fans. She reads their messages as much as she can and she takes it very seriously when anyone talks about suicide or depression because she knows exactly what it feels like to be depressed," a source told HollywoodLife. "She's been through that hell herself and she still has her dark moments.

"She has a huge heart, and that's part of the reason life is so hard for her sometimes," the insider added. "She feels everything so intensely and she feels other people's pain too."

This is a distinctly Taylor Swift-ish thing to do — no wonder they're BFFs!

New Game of Thrones poster proves two fan favorites finally meet (PHOTO)

The poster shows Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) at the bow of a ship, looking out at the ocean. But this is far from a Leonardo DiCaprio/Kate Winslet moment à la Titanic.

I'd say what comes out of the fog is much worse than an iceberg. A dragon looms before Tyrion, and it looks like Drogon, the most fiery of the three.

Still, I don't think this spells bad news for Tyrion in Season 5. If anything, I think it's good news, since it means he will finally be meeting Daenerys. Though we've known Tyrion's journey would be leading him to the Mother of Dragons for a few months now, thanks to some sneaky paparazzi photos, HBO is definitely confirming the encounter with the new poster.

Game of Thrones Season 5 poster

I think this is my favorite Game of Thrones poster yet. Normally, the show seems to favor some dark profiles or subtle imagery to depict the theme of the seasons. But this poster depicts a moment that we can't wait to see unfold. Hopefully, it means we'll get a lot more of the dragons in Season 5. I get it, the CGI is expensive — but Game of Thrones can afford it now, so bring it on.

The trailer for the show teases the encounter between the two beloved characters as well, but it doesn't show Tyrion actually meeting Daenerys.

"I will never sit on the iron throne," Tyrion tells Varys.

"You could help another climb those steps and take that seat," Varys responds.

While I think it's likely that Daenerys will be skeptical of Tyrion initially, with Varys' blessing and some proof that Tyrion is responsible for his father's death, I think he is bound to become one of her most loyal advisors.

Pregnancy test dispensers pop up in Alaska bars

The $400,000 study will evaluate if posters attached to pregnancy test dispensers in bars work better than posters that are merely placed on a wall. The posters read, "Remember the last time you had sex?" and "Take a pregnancy test before you drink tonight." It's also part of a larger campaign to reduce the occurrence of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).

The first Alaskan pregnancy test dispenser was installed in an Anchorage watering hole called the Peanut Farm Bar and Grill, and while it's reported that the owner was initially hesitant, he eventually realized that there was no loser here — if even one woman finds out she's pregnant and chooses to not drink, that alone can save $1.5 million to $2 million — the estimated cost of caring for an individual suffering from FASD over the span of a lifetime.

There are plans to install another 19 or so test dispensers across the state, and in addition to providing the tests free of charge, they are accompanied by a container of free condoms.

While Alaska is not the first state to install pregnancy test dispensers in bathrooms, it's the first to look at the effects of campaign advertising. The researchers behind the study are also hoping to determine which poster position has the most impact. Women are going to be asked to visit a website or to call a toll-free number to take a survey about the posters, for which they will be gifted a $15 iTunes card. Researchers will also follow up with the same women six months later to see what knowledge of the program they retained.

Is this a good use of state funds? Sure. Even if they don't determine any solid evidence that a poster on a test dispenser is better than a wall poster, distributing pregnancy tests, for free, in bar bathrooms may make a difference in one life, if not more. I don't see this as government overstepping its bounds — nobody is forcing women to take pregnancy tests before they slam back a few. I see it more as offering a service that can have a major impact on a mother and her child.

Your teen may be playing this weird social media selfie game right now

$

So I stalk them, of course I stalk them, and I stalk their friends too. And recently I came across some interesting stuff that may or may not be familiar to you all, and as a fellow parent, I feel it's my duty to share. I like to call it a type of cyber-flirting or cyber-flattering and it goes something like this:

HMU4ATBH

Any ideas?

Well, it means: Hit me up for a 'to be honest.'

In a nutshell, this is what happens. Your teen (let's assume it's your teen because if you've got your 8- to 11-year-old on Twitter, Snapchat or Instagram, I'm going to just have a heart attack right here)… anyway, your teen will post a gratuitous selfie (redundant, right?) and then post "HMU4ATBH."

This invites all his or her friends/followers to "like" the gratuitous selfie. Once the selfie is "liked" by all friends/followers, your teen will then go onto all his or her friends' pages and post a "to be honest" on their latest photos.

Now, these 'honest' revelations can be just about anything, because I asked my kids. These bits of honesty can be as tame as:

To be honest, I wish we hung out more;

To be honest, I don't see you that often, only at lunch;

To be honest, you have really pretty hair;

To be honest, you're not that great at basketball (ouch!).

According to my 15-year-old daughter, they can get racy too, like:

To be honest, you're really hot, you have a nice a$$, let's date;

I asked my daughter what's the point of participating in the To Be Honest game? She said it's more of a self-esteem thing. You ask someone to hit you up — or rather, "like" your picture — that way the person is getting more "likes" and then someone is saying something nice back to that person. "It's a win-win," my daughter says.

I guess it seems pretty harmless as long as no one is saying anything rude or mean, which as far as I can tell, the "to be honests" are not cruel. However, if I was playing the To Be Honest game, you can bet I'd be really honest and some of my answers might be:

To be honest, honey, it's time to get those roots dyed;

To be honest, you should have stopped at that second glass of wine Friday night because you were acting like an idiot;

To be honest, you need to stop making that duck face in your selfies because you look ridiculous and while we're on the subject honey, you're in your forties, why don't you stop posting ridiculous selfies already. YOU LOOK RIDICULOUS!

OK, so maybe the To Be Honest game is best left for the teen set?
