6 Times the reality curse has destroyed a Real Housewives marriage

Phaedra Parks' husband Apollo Nida pleads guilty to fraud, faces jail

It looks as though there may be a reality TV curse on the Real Housewives franchise, because the show's rate of divorce is particularly high and multiple couples on it have already called it quits. Can a TV show really be at fault for a marriage failing? Or does it just highlight and document the cracks that are already there?

Whether the reality TV curse exists or not, here are some of the most notorious Real Housewives divorce cases.

Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida

According to E! News, Parks plans to end her marriage of five years to Nida, and she has retained an attorney "with the intent of amicably ending her marriage," her rep, Steve Honig, told the publication.

RHOA's Apollo Nida heads to the slammer for eight years

Nida is currently serving an eight-year jail sentence in a Kentucky prison following a conviction on several fraud charges, for which he turned himself in last month. While some couples are able to make their marriage work despite jail time, Nida was convinced he and his wife would not be one of them.

In July, he told Atlanta's B-100 radio that he doubted his marriage would survive his jail sentence.

"It's hell on wheels," said Nida. "My wife didn't even f***ing show up for my sentencing," he added. "I'm still salty about that. You know, whatever."

Camille Grammer and Kelsey Grammer

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Camille Grammer and Frasier star Kelsey Grammer finalized their divorce in 2011 and it was a particularly ugly one. The former couple's divorce was very bitter and played out in public on the reality show.

Porsha Williams and Kordell Stewart

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams and her husband, former Pittsburgh Steelers player Kordell Stewart, filed for divorce in March 2013, after Stewart claimed that his marriage to his reality TV star wife was "irretrievably broken."

RHONYC star Ramona Singer opens up about divorce

LuAnn de Lesseps and Count Alex de Lesseps

Real Housewives of New York City star LuAnn de Lesseps and her husband Count Alex de Lesseps called it quits in 2009 after 16 years of marriage. The reason for the divorce? LuAnn's husband informed her via email that he and met someone else and that it was serious. Ouch.

Ramona Singer and Mario Singer

RHONYC star Ramona Singer and her husband Mario called it quits after she kicked her cheating husband to the curb earlier this year. The reality TV star revealed via Twitter in July that she would be moving on with her life, without Mario, but that she was excited for the new chapters in her life.

Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy

RHONYC's Bethenny Frankel and her husband Jason Hoppy's relationship played out during the show, and fans were witness to the highs in their marriage and the very, very lows. The couple separated after 33 months of marriage in December 2012, and this year they were still battling it out in a bitter custody struggle for their daughter, Bryn.

Mother of six Kim Zolciak, who gave birth to twins Kaia and Kane 11 months ago, revealed she had a tummy tuck and even posted before and after pictures on her Facebook page.

The Don’t Be Tardy star showed off her size 4 frame in the before photo — and her even tinier shape in the after pic. Why did she do it?

"Just so you guys are aware of how fabulous I was before my tummy tuck! This picture on the left was taken a few months after I had the twins and before surgery!" she humbly captioned the photo. "A plastic surgeon is NOT the cure all! I had a hernia I needed repaired as well as my muscles so don't get it twisted for you lazy asses that sit on the couch. And think I look this good from a surgeon you are now set straight! enjoy!! Take a look at the placement of my belly button before and after!"

Zolciak, who, in addition to the twins, also has kids Brielle, 16, Ariana, 12, KJ, 2 and Kash, 17 months, called out her haters in the past who claimed she photoshopped herself for a swimsuit picture she has posted.

"I think I have officially read it all after posting my bathing suit pic yesterday! From Photoshopping a thigh gap, to Photoshopping my breast, to Photoshopping a butt how about... it's me alllll Zoom in real (expletive) close too... I dare you... no Photoshopping!!" she wrote. "My surgeon didn't change my size, I'm the same size 4 I have always been, YES bitches I'm a size 4, he simply fixed my hernia, repaired my muscles and gave me the most incredible set of tatas EVER!"

Zolciak isn’t the only new mom that is proud to show off her post-baby body. Singer Ciara showed off her 60-pound weight loss in a pair of Calvin Klein underwear.

"After Delivering My Son I Feel Like There's Nothing I Can't Do. I Feel Like I Can Conquer The World. #ANewMe #NewMusic. So Proud To Rock #mycalvins 60lbs later!!" she captioned the photo.

“I feel so proud to say that 4 months after delivering a 9 lbs. 10 oz. baby, I can finally rock My Calvins!” she wrote in another tweet, which linked to another photo of her lounging in her undies.

Ciara and her boyfriend, rapper Future, welcomed a son they also named Future.

According to the Daily Mail, the auction house, Bonhams, will sell some pricey pieces from her estate. Included in the lot are two Henry Moore sculptures, which will be up for auction this fall, as well as six other items from Pablo Picasso, Joan Miró and Alexander Calder, which will be available in March.

10 Things you didn't know about Lauren Bacall

Bacall also had a large African art collection that was sparked while her first husband, Humphrey Bogart, filmed The African Queen, and she accompanied him on location in 1951. The entire lot is expected to bring in at least $3 million.

All of the items up for auction come from her home with Bogart, her Long Island house and her Central Park apartment at The Dakota. Besides the Picasso and other famous works, collectors can look forward to 18th and 19th-century furniture from France and England, Louis Vuitton luggage and contemporary prints.

What Lauren Bacall taught me about real beauty

Some of the other precious memorabilia in her estate will be kept private according to her will. Bacall wrote, "I request that my children respect my wish to keep private certain personal letters, writings, diaries and other papers or memorabilia."

Her $26.6 million estate was split between her three children: two kids from her first marriage and one son from her second marriage to Jason Robards. She also left money to several of her household staff and her beloved spaniel, Sophie.

Bacall died on Aug. 12 after suffering from a stroke.

iCarly heads to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

The iCarly star appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Thursday as a judge ordered the fan, Joshua Stockton, to stay at least 100 yards away from Cosgrove, TMZ reports.

The judge told Stockton to not contact the actress for the next three years and to turn over any weapons.

According to TMZ, Stockton appeared in court on Thursday wearing a big, black fur coat and a white bandanna around his head. The publication also claims that he was very disorientated and unable to tell the judge his age without looking at his driver's license for confirmation.

Miranda Cosgrove: From iCarly to Despicable Me

This has been a very unpleasant experience for Cosgrove, who said that Stockton was stalking her and sending her messages threatening suicide because she did not return his love. He also sent her chilling photographs of his slit wrists and the message, "Maybe I'll finish the job I started."

At the time of the scary pictures, Stockton had been upset that Cosgrove sent back, unopened, gifts that he had sent her via UPS.

OITNB's Taryn Manning's alleged stalker gets arrested

Cosgrove told the LA court that Stockton is "not living in the real world" and that he is a danger to himself and to her. The judge agreed.

Let's hope that Stockton adheres to the restraining order and that Cosgrove no longer needs to be afraid for her safety.

You'll never guess which Palin family member hit the hardest during brawl

Bristol Palin's chaotic parenting style horrifies Melissa Rivers

It looks like Bristol Palin ditched her ballroom moves that night and instead of going left, right, left, she opted for the right hook, repeatedly. According to Us Magazine, who snagged a copy of the police report from the incident, Bristol Palin was one of the most violent aggressors that evening.

While Track Palin was apparently defending his sister Willow's honor by starting a fight with some guys, Bristol Palin was getting into a side argument with Korey Klingenmeyer, the host of the party. According to the police report, Klingenmeyer asked the Dancing with the Stars alum to leave. She responded by asking "Who the f*** are you?" and threatening to "kick his ass."

Bristol Palin loves Hilary Clinton, hates Glee

Klingenmeyer said Bristol Palin was the first to throw a punch, and he spurred her on, telling her to hit him "if it makes her feel better." Bristol Palin allegedly took this as permission to keep going, so she threw another half-dozen or so punches. Klingenmeyer then "grabbed her fist as she punched again and he pushed back and she falls down. He says she gets up and tries to punch him again and he grabs her fist again and pushed her away and she falls down again." The scuffle ended when "a bunch of wives tackled her ass," according to a boy in attendance at the party.

The report also said there was a strong smell of alcohol from the Palin clan, which police officers noted when they arrived at the party. Track Palin was especially bad, described as appearing "heavily intoxicated" and acting "belligerent."

Track Palin divorce: So long, high-school sweetheart

It looks like the Palin parents are standing behind their children's alcohol-fueled behavior. Todd Palin said that Track's friend was attacked first, making it "a situation they couldn't walk away from."

Charges have been dropped so it looks like, legally, the Palin family is in the clear. But you just can't make this stuff up.

No one from the Palin family involved in the incident has officially commented on the event.

What is this pug so afraid of?

It's not often the perfect photo op just pops into your life, but you certainly have a better chance of it happening if you own this terrifying shirt and mask combination.

The man behind the mask is Mark Potts, and his apprehensive sidekick is Gizmo T. Pug. They are perfect together:

OMGPUGWAT

Mark, bless him, is fully aware of how upsetting this picture is.

"The pug shirt was a funny gift from my wife, while the pug mask was a funny gift from me to her; and the night she got the mask I got this idea," Mark says. They knew what needed to be done.

However, they couldn't have predicted that Gizmo would have, well, a pretty appropriate reaction.

"[My wife] took it and then somehow it ended up everywhere," Mark says. "I'm glad it's brought joy and slight fear to millions around the world.”

Yes, equal parts joy and fear. That sounds about right.

ointment for women

Preparation H Medicated Wipes for Women: Yep

Don't think hemorrhoids should be discussed in polite conversation? Well. We're going to go there anyway. Because we all have butts, and those of us who may have pushed babies out of our bodies have certain concerns regarding our butts. And those concerns are called hemorrhoids. There's just no cutesy way to describe it — although I'd be interested in hearing euphemisms. Please share them with me. Anyway, even though I'm wiling to admit that hemorrhoids are a thing, I still kind of want hemorrhoid products that look more like normal skin care lady-stuff. So, I'm pretty into Preparation H Medicated Wipes for Women. They have cucumber! When I partake in them, I can pretend like I'm having a facial. A facial for my butt.

toothbrush

Toothbrushes: Apparently nicer ones actually work better?

I am usually an absolute cheapskate about toothbrushes. I get whatever is on sale and I wait until the kids go to the dentist and get their free ones. Unless they get strep. And then I also get whatever is on sale. When I got Reach Complete Care samples I didn't expect much, but I tried them out. And I've been purchasing them ever since. I don't know what kind of sorcery they built into these things but it feels like a mouth massage and my gums don't bleed when I floss anymore. This is a huge win, because I really hate getting lectured by the dentist. I use a sonic toothbrush once a week for a deeper clean and use the Reach brush daily. I'm digging the way my mouth feels. Just remind me to floss every actual day.

firefly brush for kids

More toothbrushes: Because kids like stuff that lights up

The only thing I hate more than trying to remember to floss is trying to get my kids to brush their teeth. The Firefly Ready Go Brush works really well if you let your kids use it in a darkened bathroom. It indicates how long they should brush and it also looks like one of those $45 light-up toys they sell at the circus and Walt Disney World. Sometimes kids are painfully easy to bamboozle and when it comes to stuff that lights up, you're guaranteed to get more cooperation. They could make light-up flu shots and kids would probably line up for them. I like the new Firefly set because Star Wars. Think of the endless Yoda grammar puns you can make while trying to teach dental hygiene.

The writer received the Firefly Ready Go Brush, Reach Complete Care brush and Preparation H Medicated Wipes for Women from the respective brands so that she could try out the products. All opinions expressed in the article are based on the reviewer's own assessments of the products.

Vivica A. Fox shares a touching life regret with Oprah

She revealed, "The biggest regret of my life that I have is that I didn't have a child. But I'm a good godmother. I bring the best gifts and throw the best parties. If that's the one thing that I have a regret about, that would be that I didn't have a child."

Oprah gets catty on the new cover of O magazine

Oprah seemed a bit taken aback by the revelation. She responded, "I didn't expect that answer."

The Kill Bill: Vol. 1 star explained that seeing Halle Berry on the red carpet after having her first child had a deep impact on her thinking.

Fox explained, "I'll never forget seeing Halle on the red carpet at the Essence luncheon, and she had just had Nahla. And I said, 'Wow, she's so beautiful.' She said, 'Vivica, if I knew then what I know now, I would've had five of them.' And she said, 'The joy that I see in her eyes is just like no other high that I've ever experienced.' So I don't get to see my eyes in a child."

Quotes from Oprah Winfrey that will inspire all moms

The Independence Day actress has had some high-profile romances, but they never brought the family she longed for. Some of Fox's former paramours are 50 Cent, Jamie Foxx, Flo Rida and Dennis Rodman.

She admitted to BET in 2013 that she didn't always choose the right mates.

Fox joked, "I used to be so lustful. I would lose my mind over a six-pack and a smile. It would get me every time and usually get me in trouble. Pretty eyes, pretty teeth? Forget about it! But I think now I'm looking for a good partner, just a good man, whereas before it would be mostly physical. Now, I need a man who's a gentleman, more old-fashioned. Someone who I could laugh with and have fun with. I'm trying to date above 30 now. Thirty to 35 is the window. Not saying I won't make an exception if someone special comes along, though!"

Hugh Grant and 5 other celebs who have denounced Hollywood

$

Anne Hathaway can't handle the hate

"It's miserable," Grant said of acting during a recent interview, via Yahoo Movies, while promoting the new film Rewrite. "It's a very cruel world, no one should go into it. I'm always getting cousins and friends, and daughters and sons of friends... wanting to talk about going into acting and I always say just don't do it at all. It's brutal."

It's not the first time Grant has said he loathes his chosen profession. He declared his hate way back in 2003. However, the About a Boy actor says he's totally over Hollywood now. "I'm not out there looking for films," he said. "On the whole, I'm out of show business."

Grant's not the only celeb who has achieved success only to later decide that the Hollywood life wasn't worth all the fame and fortune. Here's a list of actors who chose to leave the industry.

1. Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Back in the '90s, you couldn't pick up a Tiger Beat or Big Bopper magazine without JTT being on the cover, but the young actor walked away from it all, seemingly at the height of his fame. "I'd been going nonstop since I was 8 years old," he told the Huffington Post last year of his decision to quit. "I wanted to go to school, to travel and have a bit of a break," he added, noting that he has "no regrets" about leaving acting.

2. Shia LaBeouf

LaBeouf's exit from the industry began in 2012, when he announced that he was "so done" with big-budget movies. Earlier this year, LaBeouf publicly declared that he didn't want to be part of the Hollywood scene at all by wearing a paper bag over his head that read "I Am Not Famous Anymore." He continued on a short downward spiral, getting into bar fights and logging an arrest, jail time and some rehab. Just recently, LaBeouf told Ellen DeGeneres that his behavior was the result of an "existential crisis," and according to IMDb, he has a film in pre-production, so there's a possibility he hasn't thrown in the towel completely. For now, the Transformers star seems to be content with running his butt off.

Shia LaBeouf runs

Shia LaBeouf runs

3. Dave Chappelle

Who didn't think Chappelle's Show was hilarious? The comedy program was hugely popular in the mid '00s, but right when it hit its pinnacle, Chappelle was out. The stand-up comedian virtually disappeared, retreating to Africa and later saying he couldn't handle the pressure of having so much power. "I felt in a lot of instances I was deliberately being put through stress because when you are a guy who generates money, people have vested interest in controlling you," Chappelle told Oprah in 2006, via MTV. He also felt that the money being generated wasn't being handled in a socially responsible way — meaning he wanted the show's network, Comedy Central, to give more money to charity. Chappelle has since completely quit Hollywood without looking back.

4. Mara Wilson

The actress who portrayed Robin Williams's adorable youngest daughter in Mrs. Doubtfire renounced movies because, well, basically she hates everything about it. "Here's something no real celebrity will ever tell you: film acting is not very fun," Wilson wrote in her personal blog. "Doing the same thing over and over again until, in the director's eyes, you 'get it right,' does not allow very much for creative freedom... The celebrity aspect is nothing short of ridiculous, and auditioning is brutal and dehumanizing. Every time I see a pretty young girl on the subway reading sides for an audition, my only thought is, 'Man, I'm glad I'm not doing that anymore.' I never feel nostalgia, just relief." Wilson is now a writer living in New York City.

5. Amanda Bynes

Before Bynes started down her current troubled path, way back in 2010, she publicly declared that she would be retiring as an actress. "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem," Bynes tweeted. "I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she added. "I know that 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I've #retired."

Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gun: Bonus clip during credits

Disney XD announced the exciting news during its panel at New York Comic Con on Friday. The animated series will, of course, center around the band of misfits Peter Quill, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon and Groot. The show will be part of Disney XD's "Marvel Universe" programming.

"This is a very exciting time for the Marvel Animation Studio as we get to explore the cosmic side of the Marvel Universe by developing the first-ever Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy animated series," Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel Television, said in a statement. "After starring in the biggest movie of 2014, everyone wants more of Star-Lord and his crew — now they'll get it."

Chris Pratt is ditching his diet for pancakes and fast food

Not only did Disney XD and Marvel make the announcement, they also debuted a clip of the show. The minute-long footage shows Rocket and Peter comparing the size of their blasters, all while escaping from perilous danger, of course. Check out the first clip of the series below.

Eating healthy is easy with this spicy salsa verde turkey chili

$

I usually always have lean ground turkey breast on hand and definitely a variety of salsas. Hence the inspiration behind this green salsa-based turkey chili. I added canned white beans for texture and fiber, and fresh garlic and onions for additional flavor. My mom always served chili over elbow macaroni, but I decided to keep mine a bit healthier and serve it over cooked quinoa.

Spicy verde turkey chili over quinoa recipe

Spicy verde turkey chili over quinoa recipe

To keep things healthy and filling, I used lean ground turkey breast in this chili dish. But if you are a vegetarian, then try using crumbled veggie burgers in place of the turkey. And if you like sour cream on top, then try using a dollop of plain 0 percent Greek yogurt instead.

Serves 6

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 25 minutes | Total time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground turkey breast
  • 2 cups green salsa verde (I used Whole Foods brand)
  • 1 (15 ounce) can white beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • Minced red onion, for garnish (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish (optional)
  • 3 cups cooked quinoa, for serving (optional)

Directions:

  1. Heat a large, nonstick pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the turkey, and cook for 5 to 6 minutes or until the turkey is no longer pink.
  3. Stir in the salsa, beans, onions, garlic and seasonings, and simmer 10 minutes or until the onions have softened.
  4. If serving with quinoa, then divide the cooked quinoa among serving bowls (about 1/2 cup per serving).
  5. Top with warm turkey chili, and garnish with red onions and cilantro. Best served warm.

Amanda Bynes hospitalized: Is she OK?

Nick Cannon finally says what needs to be said about Amanda Bynes

The troubled young woman has been taken to a hospital just outside of Los Angeles and placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold, according to TMZ.

Her hospitalization comes about two weeks after Bynes was arrested for a DUI in California, which was a shock to many who felt she had rebounded from her psychiatric issues from last year. After the DUI, Bynes seemed to unravel quickly. She was seen at LAX talking to herself and acting strangely. Reports began to trickle through that Bynes had been expelled from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising for bizarre behavior, and her parents admitted that they couldn't control her and had not had much contact with her since their conservatorship ended months ago.

Bynes then surfaced in New York City, walking the streets alone with a bandage on her face. She was allegedly busted for shoplifting several times, and video surveillance that went public showed her flailing around a boutique in NYC, making obscene gestures toward a security guard. Her family became worried that something tragic was on the horizon after Bynes allegedly attacked a fan in a nightclub Monday night, and they issued a statement asking the public to stand clear of their daughter.

After accusing her father of abuse and saying her brain was microchipped on Twitter, Bynes was taped arriving at LAX on Friday and a car service took her straight to the hospital, where the family's lawyer and doctors were waiting, according to TMZ. Her behavior is nothing short of disturbing in the video, in which she continues to make statements about her father and compares her relationship with him to that of Britney Spears and her father, Jamie Spears.

What's even more disturbing than Bynes's behavior in the TMZ video is the amount of paparazzi assaulting this clearly gravely troubled woman. They stalk her through the airport, blind her with camera flashes and ask deeply personal questions, knowing full well that this is an extremely ill human being. We felt guilty for even clicking play and watching the footage. The behavior of the paparazzi, and the travelers in the background happily snapping pics, is nothing short of disgusting.

Now that Bynes is back in custody, we honestly hope for the best. The psychiatric hold reportedly keeps her at the hospital for 72 hours and can be extended up to 14 days. During that time, her parents will try to to get another conservatorship, TMZ reported. Hopefully, this time, Bynes will be able to get the help and supervision she desperately needs. This is clearly a life-and-death situation.

Where the hell's Hank? Kendra's man still MIA on Kendra On Top

The question of relatability

Last week, I caught some flak for saying the season premiere was real and relatable. But I stand by what I said and, for the most part, I feel the same way about this week's episode.

Perhaps it's because, like Kendra, I have two young children. When the episode starts with her trying to gather the inexplicably massive amounts of stuff a baby requires and getting little Alijah to a doctor's appointment, I empathize with her.

When she nearly loses her shit because she can't figure out how to fold the stroller, I think, "Oh, honey, I have so been there."

How the Kendra On Top premiere was real, relatable and so devastating

When Kendra shows up at the doctor's office and is heckled by some random dude asking "Where's Hank?" and then the doctor asks her how things are going, I completely understand how deceptively profound her simple utterance of "You have to go, or you'll stop" is.

Because as mothers — and, beyond that, just as women in general — isn't that our go-to coping mechanism? We keep things afloat. We soldier on. To me, that's what much of Episode 2 is about: Kendra trying not to get bogged down.

She confides to her best friend, Jessica Hall, that part of what terrifies her so much about the situation is that she's never been on her own before. She lived with her mom growing up, moved into the Playboy Mansion at 18 and from there moved in with Hank.

"It's good that Kendra is aware that she's never really been on her own," SheKnows Dating and Relationship Expert Andrea Syrtash weighed in. "It's important for women (and men!) to know themselves outside of a relationship. I always say that you can't be a good we without being a good me."

Moms are the best medicine... hopefully

Perhaps the silver lining here is that Wilkinson and her mother are finally able to put the past aside so that Wilkinson can have her mom by her side during this difficult time.

While it remains to be seen if their relationship will once again turn toxic, the fact that Wilkinson reached out to her mother at this point is positive, according to Syrtash.

"At this point, Kendra needs support. Mending her relationship with her mother is a good thing if this is a relationship she values and misses. Also, it's good for her kids' grandmother to be in their lives. The important thing moving forward is that she and her mother communicate their issues and create a spirit of open dialogue, rather than repeating past unhealthy patterns," Syrtash said.

Kendra Wilkinson finally tells us the truth about the cheating scandal

Here's my thing, though: Wilkinson's mom has never liked Baskett. In fact, she claims he's the cause of the rift between her and Wilkinson. Couldn't that make it hard for Wilkinson to sort through her feelings about her husband?

In a word, yes.

Syrtash warned that Wilkinson's mom could solidify her mistrust of Baskett and further alienate her from him. "She may need to create a clear boundary that she wants to get back on track with her mother but also establish that her mother needs to respect her children's father in front of them," Syrtash said.

"This isn't a good time for 'I told you so' or harsh judgment. Kendra needs support and love."

Just a friendly phone call?

And, well, apparently Baskett needs some support and love, too... but from Wilkinson's bestie?

Wilkinson walks into the kitchen to find Hall on the phone with Baskett. The situation is made all the more awkward by the fact that Wilkinson then (like most women would, I imagine) whispers directives to Hall to guide the conversation.

"It's not uncommon for the 'guilty' party to seek an empathetic ear, or to involve someone who knows and respects him to hear his side," said Syrtash. "It's likely that Hank just wants another person to defend him or support him as he navigates this tricky situation and as he tries to convince his wife of his love for her and the family."

But while I think Hall is an amazing friend to Wilkinson, it kind of bothers me when she tells Wilkinson after the call that Wilkinson "owes it" to Baskett to hear him out.

6 Reasons the Hank Baskett cheating scandal is super weird

"The issue is that Kendra is in the middle of emotional turmoil and should deal with it as she sees fit," said Syrtash. "If she needs a break from Hank or needs more time to process, she shouldn't be forced to speak with her husband right away. For the sake of their kids, Kendra should confront him and the situation at some point... but she deserves the space to process it and her feelings first."

The paparazzi have arrived, but still no Hank

The other hitch I had with the episode revolved around the paparazzi.

Wilkinson cites them frequently as a source of stress, but we only see them once. And, even then, it doesn't seem entirely overwhelming. Although I'm not naturally a skeptical person, I questioned how many paparazzi were actually plaguing Wilkinson.

According Kendra On Top's executive producer, Wilkinson's concern is legit. One explanation for why we don't see the paparazzi? Wilkinson lives in a gated community, so no one — barring drones or helicopters that spy on her from overhead — can get within a mile of her home.

That doesn't mean the paparazzi aren't waiting for her, though.

"Depending on what is happening, various numbers (can be 3 or 20) stay outside the gates of her community and that's why her friends typically drive for her," the executive producer said.

"How close can they come? As close as they dare. The paparazzi communicate with one another, and they are all trying to get a better shot than one another. Each competes with the other to get the best shot and the big money."

Maybe next week we'll actually see Baskett and start to get his side of the story.

Next week: Hank returns to LA as Kendra Wilkinson tries to deal with the aftermath of the scandal. Watch this sneak peek from Friday’s all-new episode of Kendra On Top.

Sriracha udon noodle bowls recipe

My husband and I love exploring ethnic recipes and getting creative. We both love fairly hot and spicy food and decided to try to make a sauce using Sriracha sauce for some udon noodles we had on hand. The end result was indeed one super-hot bowl of noodles, literally!

We also tossed in fresh vegetables we had, such as broccoli, onions, sliced peppers and cool cucumber. Not only are these noodles tasty, but they can be enjoyed both warm or chilled, and they make great leftovers.

If you like to spice things up in the kitchen, then this sauce is the perfect balance of sweet and super spicy. You can also add chicken, beef or even tofu to this recipe for texture and extra protein.

Serves 4

Ingredients:

For the Sriracha noodle sauce

  • 4 tablespoons Sriracha hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sweet rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced or pressed
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger root
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • 1 lime, juiced and zested
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the udon noodles

  •  1 (16 ounce) package udon noodles
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/4 cup minced red onion
  • 1 small cucumber, sliced or shredded
  • 1 small handful fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Fresh jalapeño pepper slices, for garnish (optional)

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients for the sauce.
  2. Mix well, and let sit for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
  3. Fill a pot with water, and bring to a boil over high heat.
  4. Add the udon noodles, and cook as directed on the package. Once cooked, drain the noodles, and set them aside.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium, and add the sesame oil and broccoli. Lightly cook 3 to 4 minutes or until the broccoli has softened to desired taste.
  6. Add the cooked noodles back into the pot with the broccoli. Pour the Sriracha noodle sauce over the top, and gently toss using tongs until the noodles are warm.
  7. Divide among serving bowls, and top with red onion, cucumber and cilantro. (If desired, garnish with jalapeño slices.)
  8. Enjoy warm or chilled. Store remaining noodles in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden keep us guessing with some serious bling

There are certainly plenty of reasons to believe that they did.

Benji Madden's a lucky man to be dating Cameron Diaz

The Other Woman actress was spotted at the Academy's Hollywood Costume luncheon on Wednesday sporting a brand-new accessory on the fourth finger of her left hand: a sparkling diamond ring.

According to People magazine, an eyewitness who was present at the event said that Diaz was really keen to show off her new bling and she kept "casually and constantly twirling her ponytail, showing off the ring and often playing with it."

The ring was actually made up of two: one a twisty, figure-eight design and one a diamond band. And it wasn't just being worn for the luncheon, because Diaz and Madden were spotted together (ring included) later that evening enjoying dinner with friends at the Italian restaurant Madeo in Beverly Hills, California.

Cameron Diaz ends interview after Drew Barrymore snark

A source revealed to People, "They arrived together with Benji driving. Cameron showed off her new ring and was smiling. They enjoyed dinner for several hours."

While a diamond ring on an engagement finger doesn't always mean the obvious, Madden's comments during a recent interview with Details have added fuel to the fire. Madden previously hinted at the fact that he wants a family, saying, "It's what every man wants, whether they admit it or not."

Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden are getting serious

The lovebirds have been together since April, when matchmaker Nicole Richie introduced them, and they certainly appear to have hit it off. Madden has already met his lady's parents, and the couple is even rumored to have moved in together.

So, could these two have taken the next step in their relationship and gotten engaged? We hope so.

You shouldn't wait until the New Year to make this resolution

This month is a time for new beginnings. Fall is in the air, the new school year is underway and Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, was celebrated a few weeks ago. So why not make a resolution or two? Why wait till January?

I was thinking about this and recalled a whole book of resolutions that we published six years ago, Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Resolution. These were resolutions that could be made all year, not just during a fit of remorse after a month of holiday excess. Some changes are difficult and take time to implement, such as quitting smoking, losing weight or organizing the closets. But many of these are resolutions you can start implementing in a second, simply by deciding that you will. It's amazing how many positive changes we can make in our lives merely by deciding to change. And one of those decisions can be what we say or don't say.

One of the resolution stories that has stuck with me was by Linda O'Connell, who made me think about the negative power of the word "but." She wrote, "I've been listening to myself lately, and I don't like the way I sound. As a veteran teacher, I know that praise can be a huge motivational tool." Linda went on to admit, "My daughter called to tell me about a house she was interested in. I listened to her. I said, 'Honey, I am glad that you've found something you like, but don't you think, with the gas prices, you might want to buy closer to your work?'" The moment Linda said the word "but" she could hear her daughter's excitement falter.

Linda gave us another example: "Recently I visited my son and his 6-year-old little boy and 6-month-old daughter. I told him he was a great father. He beamed, and then I flubbed. 'You should be commended for spending your whole day taking your little boy to his sports events, but don't you think he might be worn out and ready for a bath?' There I was with my bad word again!" Linda's son stopped smiling and said tersely, "He'll be fine. I'll get him to bed soon." By accident, Linda had turned a compliment into a complaint.

The British author Dorothy Nevill said it best: "The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment." I'm working on it.

Read Linda's story, "Two Little Words with a Big Impact" from Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Resolution.
