Gary Glitter, also known as Paul Gadd, was charged this week with eight sex offenses involving two young girls who were 12 and 14 years old at the time. The charges stem from incidents that happened between 1977 and 1980.

The 70-year-old former pop star was arrested in October 2012 as a part of Operation Yewtree, which was a national investigation in Britain. The sting was launched after the late BBC entertainer, Jimmy Savile, was involved in a child abuse scandal.

This isn't Glitter's first time with child sex abuse issues. In 1997, he pleaded guilty to 54 counts of distributing child pornography of children under 16 and making it available on the internet. He served four months in prison in addition to being placed on a sex offender's list.

After his release from prison, he went to Cambodia where he was deported for alleged sex tourism. In Vietnam, he was convicted of molesting two young girls under the age of 12 and served three years in prison. After his Southeast Asia imprisonment, his music career suffered greatly, but his music continued to play in sports stadiums around the globe.

Bethenny Frankel's bitter custody battle officially over >>

Glitter is best known for his sparkly jumpsuits and silver platform boots from the '70s. He had 26 Top 100 hits in Britain between 1972 and 1995. His hits include "Do You Wanna Touch Me" and "Rock and Roll Part 2." The NFL banned playing "Rock and Roll Part 2" from any of its official stadiums in 2006 due to Glitter's pedophilia issues.

He is expected to appear in court in London on June 19.

Dave Coulier sets record straight on Alanis Morissette song

Is Alanis Morissette's song "You Oughta Know" about Dave Coulier or what? The comedian has finally set the record straight and given fans the absolute truth. Hopefully, the public isn't too disappointed about the real story.

In a new interview with BuzzFeed, the former Full House star talked about the hit song almost 20 years later.

The guys of Full House joke about Alanis' "You Oughta Know" >>

He shared, "I never think about it. I think it's just really funny that it's become this urban legend, so many years after the fact."

Then the actor gives the inside scoop on the single.

Coulier explained, "I dated Alanis in 1992. You know, it's just funny to be the supposed subject of that song. First of all, the guy in that song is a real a**hole, so I don't want to be that guy. Secondly, I asked Alanis, 'I'm getting calls by the media and they want to know who this guy is.' And she said, 'Well, you know it could be a bunch of people. But you can say whatever you want.' So one time, I was doing a red carpet somewhere and [the press] just wore me down and everybody wanted to know so I said, 'Yeah, all right, I'm the guy. There, I said it.' So then it became a snowball effect of, 'Oh! So you are the guy!'"

Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill: The Broadway musical >>

So the urban legend is just that, an urban legend. In fact, it's something Coulier knows he "just [has] to laugh at."

For anyone who was dying to know if it's his favorite karaoke song, think again.

He joked, "No! 'Cause I don't think I could get that drunk."

8 Gross things that dogs do

$
0
0

Dog Slobber

1

Eat poop

Some dogs eat their own poop, and some dogs eat other dogs' or animals' poop. Experts say that some dogs do this because they are lacking something in their diet, while others say it's a behavioral problem that owners should try to correct. Either way, yuck! We wish that dogs knew that poop carries diseases, and that eating it is an act that is frowned upon by their owners, especially when they are smooching them on the cheek.

2

Lick their private parts

Licking is the way that dogs clean themselves, but excessive licking can sometimes mean that there is a medical condition that needs attention or a behavioral problem that needs to be addressed. Whatever the reason, it would be nice if dogs would lick themselves a bit more quickly and in private, rather than by their owners' heads when they are trying to fall asleep.

3

Slobber/Drool

Dogs can drool for a variety of reasons, and some dogs are just made to be drool machines. People who have a dog that is known to slobber usually don't think twice about it. But for those who aren't fans of the slime, the sight of slobber hanging from a dog's mouth or being wiped on their pants can cause a quick gagging reflex.

4

Lick their pee

Sniffing pee is one thing, but once dogs actually go in for a taste, that's a whole different story. But once you know what they're actually doing, in a way, it's kind of cool. Experts say that a dog has an organ, called the vomeronasal organ, on the roof of its mouth that allows it to taste scent. It's not a skill we're jealous of, but it is interesting.

5

Drink out
of the toilet

What is it with drinking out of the toilet? Does the water taste better in there? Experts believe it does, and they suggest that dogs are drawn to drinking out of the toilet bowl because the porcelain keeps the water cooler. Experts caution that this is a dirty habit for dogs because of the unhealthy bacteria and cleaning agents that tend to linger in the bowl.

6

Roll around in
something stinky

For some reason, dogs always find the grossest things in the yard, like poop or a decaying animal corpse, that they find irresistible to roll in. There are a few different theories on this one. Dogs just don't want to smell clean, they want to cover up their own scents or they just want to tell you where they've been.

7

Eat their vomit

Some dogs eat their own vomit, and some dog's eat another dog's vomit. While this is incredibly gross, experts don't seem to really know why dogs do this. It could go back to hundreds of years ago, when it was thought that dogs ate their vomit so that other predators or members of their pack wouldn't know they were sick.

8

Smell butts

What is the fascination here? According to experts, a quick whiff of the anal glands tells a dog a lot about another dog, such as its current mood, its health and what type of food it has eaten recently.

In spite of all of the gross things dogs do, we still can't help but love them. What is the grossest thing your dog has ever done? Share your story in the comments below.

Demi Lovato is a talented pop singer with an interesting hobby in conspiracy theories. Just ask Seth Meyers, who learned all about it during her Late Night visit on Wednesday's show.

The talk-show host got straight to the point when he asked the former X Factor judge, "Do you think aliens are real?"

Next stop for Demi Lovato: A Grammy and an Oscar? >>

The musician responded with conviction, "I know that they are real. How self-centered would we be, as humans, to believe that we are the only living things in the universe?"

Meyers joked back, "Well, call me self-centered, because I don't believe in aliens."

As a fan of conspiracy theories, Lovato also admitted that she loved mermaids. However, her beliefs sounded a little convoluted when she explained that they are "an alien species living in parts of the Indian Ocean, which we have never explored before as human beings — and Christopher Columbus had actually seen three mermaids on his way to America."

She continued, "There's this really, extremely convincing documentary that came out..."

The former Saturday Night Live cast member interrupted and said, "The Little Mermaid?"

Lovato scrunched her nose and giggled while the audience roared with laughter.

While she never made a believer out of Meyers, the "Heart Attack" singer took the teasing in stride.

She summed up, "You can laugh at me all you want…"

Meyers jumped in, "Mermaids are real."

Lemon thyme olive oil cupcakes with lemon thyme buttercream

I have a huge weakness for cupcakes. I try not to make them too often for fear they will be the only thing I eat until they are all finished. Unfortunately my husband doesn't like cake, so they are all mine. It's a problem. However, after I made these cupcakes, I actually got his attention. They are the perfect blend of lemon, olive oil and fresh thyme flavors. Totally perfect for summer and just a little different from your average cupcake. The sprinkles are optional, but who doesn't love sprinkles?

  • 1 box lemon cake mix
  • Olive oil

  2. Gently stir in the lemon zest and thyme leaves.
  3. Add 24 paper liners to a cupcake tray, fill them with cake batter, and bake until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean. Follow the baking time recommendations on the box directions.

  5. Top the cupcakes with frosting (recipe below), and sprinkle them with sprinkles if desired.

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

However, I love a challenge, and leather is the up-and-coming trend in the craft world. Leather may stray far from my roots of pink sequins, but I think rustic leather makes the perfect craft item to work with and create a special frame for Dad.

While leather can be an expensive item to use for crafting, do not worry if you are budget conscious. I picked up a leather belt and a picture frame at the thrift store to create the leather-engraved frame for only $5. Belts and frames come in a variety of sizes, so measure both to ensure the leather belt will cover the frame.

Supplies:

  • Leather belt
  • Picture frame
  • Shears or razor blade
  • High-strength glue (example: Liquid Nails)
  • Clamp
  • Pen
  • Wood burning tool

Instructions:

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

Trim the belt buckle part from the belt and discard.

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

Line up belt to frame and cut according to length needed. Repeat until four sides are cut.

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

Glue belt to frame and clamp. Let dry for a few hours or overnight. (I like to be extra careful and make sure it sticks.)

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

Write your message to Dad with your pen onto the leather belt. (I used stencils because I have the handwriting of a doctor, but I encourage you to use your own handwriting; everyone loves the handmade touch.)

DIY leather belt picture frame for Father's Day

Using your written message as a guide, trace over with the wood burning tool and your frame is engraved.

If you would like to test the color first, use the tool on the leftover pieces of belt. Another option for engraving is to use a leather stamping kit.

For the final touch, add a favorite photo of your little(s) — the most important part.

The split rumors are true and things are done between Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart. Their breakup was confirmed today, Friday, June 5, amid reports that the former backup dancer sexted with someone else recently.

After being together for 2 1/2 years, Lopez and Smart have gone their separate ways due to their relationship having grown apart. They have actually been apart for about six weeks now, sources claim. Rumors surfaced that their relationship was in trouble after Smart sent steamy texts to another woman, but the pair slammed these allegations.

"It has actually been an amicable process that started a few months ago," an insider told Us Weekly. "It wasn't an easy decision, but they decided to stay friends... Their relationship couldn't work with the distance. He started trying to establish his own life and career, and she is so focused on hers, and they just couldn't be all about each other anymore."

Lopez is reportedly "doing fine" with the split and is very "focused on promoting" her new album, while Smart is also in a good place with his career at the moment.

Jennifer Lopez deserves the Billboard Icon Award for these five reasons >>

While the breakup is supposedly a friendly one, the rumors that Smart had been sending steamy texts and photos of himself to a transgender model spread like wildfire. Gossip site The Dirty claimed it had evidence of the photos and messages exchanged between the pair.

However, Lopez and Smart are adamant about these reports and their reps insist they had nothing to do with their split. A source in the know told TMZ that as a single man, Smart "can text whoever he wants, but the idea he was knowingly texting a transsexual is laughable."

Jennifer Lopez brought to tears by son's emotional note >>

The site went on to say that "like a lot of single guys online he obviously likes to look at a lil' T and A." But he and Lopez remain close friends and broke up mutually — they just "grew apart" and decided to pursue their interests separately.

TLC spent most of the '90s chasing waterfalls in midriff-baring crop tops, but they did leave their unmentionables covered — at least most of the time. Now the two remaining members of the group are taking a swipe at today's pop stars who think they need to bare it all to be successful — specifically Rihanna, who appeared at the CFDA Awards wearing pretty much nothing but some body glitter smeared on fishnet.

"Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked," T-Boz said on Australian morning show Channel 7′s Sunrise. "It's hard for us to say anything because any time we do, they say, 'Oh TLC, they must be jealous...' I call a spade a spade."

"We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot," Chilli added, and T-Boz said, "We could go around with booby cakes out all day long."

Girls, we are so excited to share this news with you. The Mindy Project's super-goofy Ike Barinholtz (who plays Morgan) has been cast as the lead male role in Tina Fey's new film project The Nest. He's on board to play the love interest of none other than Fey's BFF, Amy Poehler. We've eagerly anticipated this movie since the first announcement, but Barinholtz's addition brings a whole new level of awesome.

Ike Barinholtz chats about the possibility of getting inked >>

The Nest finds two sisters (played by Fey and Poehler) returning home for the first time in quite a while. Tasked with the job of collecting their belongings before their parents sell their childhood home, the sisters soon find themselves on a walk down memory lane. With only so much time left in the house that built them, there's only one logical conclusion for the sisters to reach: It's time to throw one last raging party. They and their former friends aren't as young as they used to be, but as adults they have more reason than ever to let loose and party away their issues. Barinholtz will be the nearby neighbor and love interest for Poehler. But is he a former flame or someone Poehler's character only discovers upon her return? We can't wait to find out.

All the times The Mindy Project finale completely slayed us >>

Barinholtz's credits are a mile long and all his work is stellar. Of course, his two years as Morgan on The Mindy Project is our favorite role, but we'd be remiss not to mention his time on Eastbound and Down and his hilarious spot in Neighbors. He's also done more than 100 episodes of MadTV. He's more than just a goofy character, though. Barinholtz is also a gifted comedy writer. Dude has written some two dozen episodes of The Mindy Project and MadTV. He's an absolute gold mine of talent and the perfect score for The Nest.

Never mind the giggling girls in the corner. We'll be right here waiting for Ike and The Nest.

Jane Fonda and Conan teach us it's not just about the boner

Jane Fonda and Conan

During her appearance on Conan this week, she talked about the importance of sex as you age.

This is especially true for men over 50 (Conan cautiously admitted to being 51). "If [men] aren't aging successfully in that department, you can see it. You either get it up or you don't, right? Women don't have that problem."

Honey, I took the pill

Your female spouse or lover isn't necessarily going to be all that thrilled with her man popping a pill, then driving home from work, thinking that everything will be like it was when you were decades younger, Fonda says.

Although the over-50 man may feel that all he has to do is "perform" sexually, Fonda says, and even though enhancement pills can prolong the physical aspect of sex in aging men, "nothing is worse than the pressure of feeling like you have to perform."

It's not just about the boner. Fonda's book includes an entire chapter on pleasing your sexual partner, and taking the time for that to be a realistic outcome, she says.

"One thing about aging is that the spontaneity kind of goes out the window, and you have to plan, which in itself can be exciting actually. You have to decide, 'How long from now am I gonna want to be able to perform'? And then it depends on what kind of pill you take. And then you have to factor in the foreplay [for her]," she adds.

"A lot of men think that as long as they can perform, that it's all [good]."

Bottom line: Plan the pill around the foreplay. Don't just take the pill and forget that she needs time, too.

Hollywood's humanitarians: Glee's Lauren Potter takes special needs advocacy to "new horizons"

Growing up, Lauren Potter always wanted to be an actress — an ambition she wasn't shy to share with people. Sadly, such proclamations were often met with disbelief or disapproval from people who didn't believe this little girl with Down Syndrome could make it in the world of entertainment.

"I just didn't listen to anyone who told me I couldn't," she told us of never giving up. "I listened to people, like my family, who said I could do anything I put my mind to and anything I worked hard at."

Potter's perseverance has clearly paid off. In 2009, she landed a major role on then-fledgling Fox show Glee, and over the past five years as Cheerio Becky Jackson, she has endeared herself to millions and become a true inspiration for people with special needs — a notion which actually inspires her. "I feel honored when people tell me that. I want other kids and people to follow their dreams and never give up," she said.

To that end, Potter has partnered with New Horizons, a nonprofit supporting people with special needs. This weekend, she's serving as the Grand Marshal of the organization's 7th Annual 5K Run/Walk on the Horizon. "They do so much to help people with disabilities," Potter gushed about the nonprofit. "They've been around for 60 years and they help people find jobs, learn skills to live independently and to follow their dreams."

Recently, the pretty star got the opportunity to spend some time at New Horizon's home base in North Hills. "I got to go see their place in the San Fernando Valley, and it was so cool to meet the staff and see the workshop and classrooms," she shared. "It was really fun to take pictures with the clients. They do amazing things there."

Since the organization's inception, they've evolved from helping a handful of individuals with special needs to providing services and support to nearly 1,000 individuals and social and recreational services to nearly 3,000 individuals. And Potter is optimistic that those numbers will continue to grow.

The key, of course, is involvement. You don't have to live near New Horizons to make a difference in the life of those with special needs, Potter explains. "[People] can help New Horizons help lots of great people with special needs by making a donation," she explained. "They can also help people with disabilities by being friends and accepting them."

So, we ask the actress, how do we as parents start a dialogue in our own homes about befriending special needs children? Particularly, how do we help our kids avoid becoming part of the cycle of bullying?

"You can teach your kids that words do hurt sometimes," offered Potter, who has been on the receiving end of insensitive slang. "And if there are better words to use that don't hurt someone, you should use those instead. Kids also need to stand up against bullying and feel safe to tell someone if they are bullied. And I guess it helps if parents don't use words that hurt, too."

As one of several characters with Down Syndrome depicted on Glee, Potter is proud to be part of a show that works to reduce preexisting stigmas surrounding people who are "different" and which has "done amazing things for diversity for all people."

And it doesn't hurt to have encouragement from her fellow cast members, either. As the right-hand girl to Jane Lynch's hilarious Coach Sue character, Potter has had the privilege of working alongside Lynch as her "Beckretary." The veteran star has been incredibly supportive, Potter says.

"Jane is so nice and so sweet and so amazing," remarked Potter. "She is so funny, too! She has really helped me when we're in scenes together and, in the beginning when I would get nervous or stubborn, she helped me calm down and be the best I could be. I love Jane."

Ultimately, the actress — whom President Obama appointed to the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities — hopes that through her character on Glee and through her advocacy with New Horizons, she can help people come to the realization that "different isn't bad — different is just different."

"I just want everyone to treat everyone equally, because we really are all different in so many different ways," she wisely observed. "But we are all people, and we all have the same feelings and hopes and dreams. I want to live in a world where we can all be who we are and where that's OK."

7 Nasty germs that are lurking in your carpet and mattress

Two of the most important and expensive investments in your home are your carpet and your mattress. But there are hidden germs lurking in two of the places you and your family use the most.

About carpets: Wall-to-wall germ farms

Research by Philip Tierno, Jr., Ph.D., New York University Langone Medical Center microbiologist, immunologist and author of The Secret Life of Germs, shows that your carpet is a lot dirtier than you think. In fact, it probably has about 200,000 bacteria per square inch. That's about 4,000 times grosser than your toilet, in case you were keeping track.

About mattresses: Sleeping with the enemy

According to The Mattress Doctor, one of the most sacred places in your home, a place where you're the most vulnerable, may be subject to invasion by bacteria and viruses, some of which have become more aggressive over the past several decades. Some are even resistant to antibiotics.

Those nasty little dust mites and allergens you always hear about aren't the only things you have to worry about, unfortunately.

1. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus — This penicillin-resistant superhero of the bacterial world can run rampant in your carpet and mattress, especially if you have any athletes in the house.

They'll bring it home from the gym or the locker room in that nasty gym bag you just realized you never wash, take off their shoes before setting a nasty dirt-covered foot on the carpet… and track in whatever they brought home after sweating through practice. You don't just walk (barefoot) on your carpet. You play video games, wrestle, watch TV and more. Hopefully you don't have a cut. MRSA loves those. Then it's bedtime.

MRSA can be carried by healthy people for hours or even years. It causes red bumps that become more painful and larger over time and results in a fever and rashes. It only gets worse from there and can become untreatable, eventually leading to death.

2. Campylobacter — Generally, this one is the most dangerous during the winter months, especially as you and the little ones track in bacteria-friendly dampness on those galoshes. It causes a potentially deadly disease known as campylobacteriosis, which can be dangerous to people with a compromised immune system, like small children or the elderly. Symptoms include bloody diarrhea, cramping, abdominal pain and fever.

Campylobacter

3. Norovirus — Also known as the Norwalk virus, Norovirus causes symptoms similar to food poisoning or even the stomach flu. It can survive in your carpet or in your bed for four to six weeks, and it becomes airborne as people walk or roll across it. If you live in areas with a prevalence of dust, like Texas, New Mexico or Arizona, you're in even more danger.

4. Fungi and mold — Several fungi and molds can invade your home, some of which can cause serious allergies and even death. Aspergillus, Rhizopus, Alternaria, Geotrichum and Cladosporium are all potential bedmates.

5. Micrococcus — This one can be particularly nasty for those with compromised immune systems. It can cause some serious-looking skin infections, septic shock, meningitis (among other things) and even death.

6. Enterococci —This one is actually a normal bacteria that exists in your intestines, but some species can cause serious infections in humans. It can cause urinary tract infections, bacteremia, bacterial endocarditis, diverticulitis and meningitis, and some strains are resistant to treatment.

Enterococci

7. Other bacteria — These certainly aren't the only things that can live in your mattress or carpet, so it's important to take the proper measures to reduce their impact.

Bacteria

The solution

Vacuum regularly, keep your carpet dry, and have it cleaned at least once per year, preferably twice. You can also cover high-traffic areas with washable (or at least more easily replaceable) area rugs.

Also, clean your mattress regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions. You should also take a shower before you go to bed each evening to reduce what you take to bed with you and again in the morning to wash off anything you may have picked up. Add an additional layer between you and the mattress by using a washable mattress pad (and clean it regularly). And, of course, buy a new mattress every seven to 10 years, more often if you have allergies.

What a U.S. military prostitution ring tells us about workers' rights

McQueen, who served as an Army sexual assault prevention non-commissioned officer, faces multiple charges, including pandering, adultery and sexual assault. He allegedly groomed young, broke female cadets into his prostitution ring, and pimped them to male soldiers for $100 per sexual encounter.

So how is it that we live in a society in which our soldiers feel pressure to work as prostitutes to make financial ends meet?

The role of poverty in prostitution

When I first heard this story, I was disheartened but not terribly surprised. The female experience of poverty is a major predictor of entry into prostitution. In fact, in their book Backstreets: Prostitution, Money and Love, prostitution experts Hoigard and Finstad say, "Money is the reason for prostitution. We know of no woman who prostitutes for any reason other than money." According to research published in Issues in Mental Health Nursing, economic instability both pushes women into prostitution and keeps them there. Finally, a National Institute of Justice summary is clear that most women in prostitution continue turning tricks because they see no other way to make ends meet and keep a roof over their heads.

While McQueen's betrayal and abuse of power is egregious, his methods are as time-tested as the oldest profession itself. He is being accused of what all pimps do — recruit young and vulnerable women who perceive few reasonable options to pay their obligations.

A look at the living wage

Visit the Go Army website, and the subjective feelings of impoverishment become a lot more objective. Our nation's lowest-ranking soldiers earn roughly $18,000 per year, not including variable allowances. If you do the math, this comes out to about $9 per hour for extremely challenging, stressful and sacrificial work. It may meet minimum wage requirements, but $9 per hour doesn't seem like a fair wage for our soldiers. If any of the young soldiers lured into prostitution earned this rate of pay — particularly if they have children or other financial obligations — it makes perfect sense that they'd need extra cash to meet their needs.

As a social worker, I've seen what happens when women must work a low-wage job. They bring home $1,500 per month in income, and have to pay $1,000 of it to a daycare provider. Never mind food, rent and clothing.

Some might argue it's appalling that our women soldiers succumbed to this but if you had less education, less income, less support—and, most importantly, less hope that your financial status was only temporary — would prostitution really be off the table as a financial choice?

In a shocking move, Melanie Griffith has filed for divorce from Antonio Banderas Jr. after 18 years of marriage.

Documents submitted by famed celebrity divorce lawyer Laura Wasser in Los Angeles show that Griffith is the petitioner, and do not list a date of separation or any reason for the split other than "irreconcilable differences." Griffith is asking for child support and sole physical and joint legal custody, despite the fact that couple's only child turns 18 in September.

She is also asking for spousal support. TMZ reports the breakup is "amicable," and that the only complication will be splitting the couple's various properties both domestic and in Spain.

Griffith and Banderas wed in 1996 after meeting on the set of the movie Two Much. The actress has long struggled with addiction, admitting to cocaine and alcohol dependency in the '90s. She went to rehab in 2000 for a painkiller addiction and returned in 2009 for three months for what her publicist referred to as "part of a routine plan.

"She is there to reinforce her commitment to stay healthy," spokeswoman Robin Baum told the Associated Press. "This is part of a routine plan that was designed between her and her doctors years ago."

Despite rumors that the couple was splitting two years ago, Banderas continued to support Griffith through her struggles with chemical dependency.

"Overcoming addictions is tough but it can be made easier if you have someone that can offer support," she wrote on her now-defunct website. "My husband and family supported me so much through this journey and continue to do so."

The split marks Griffith's fourth divorce and Banderas' second. She was previously married to Steve Bauer and twice to actor Don Johnson, with whom she has a daughter, Dakota Johnson of the upcoming flick Fifty Shades of Grey. Banderas was previously wed to Ana Leza.

Reps for the couple have yet to comment.

Cheesy steak & guacamole sandwich

What better way to treat Dad to something special this Father's Day than to take control of the grill and serve him a cheesy, guacamole-filled steak sandwich? One bite into this, and you'll be declared the favorite child, hands down.

Cheesy steak & guacamole sandwich

Cheesy steak and guacamole sandwich recipe

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 pound boneless sirloin
  • Salt and pepper
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 tablespoons minced red onion
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro
  • 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bread

Directions:

  1. Season the steak generously with the salt, pepper and lemon juice. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high, and cook the steak until desired doneness. Let it rest for a few minutes before cutting it into 1/2-inch pieces.
  2. While the steak cooks, make the guacamole by combining the avocado, red onion, lime juice and cilantro in a bowl. Mash together with a fork until well combined. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
  3. Lay 4 slices of cheddar on 2 pieces of bread, and toast all 4 slices of bread in a toaster oven or on the grill until the cheese is melted.
  4. Layer the steak on top of the slices with the cheese, and spoon the guacamole on top. Top with the other piece of bread, and cut in half to serve.

There is some dispute on whether Angelina Jolie was the right choice for the role of Maleficent, after receiving some very stiff competition from 50 Cent on Thursday night. The rapper spoofed Jolie's film on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he came out as "Malefiftycent."

Beat down! Beyoncé is feisty, or so says 50 Cent >>

50 Cent showed off his best assets, and a few new ones — in the form of the Disney character's signature horns. He also used his own life experiences to show what he could bring to the character.

"I've been shot nine times — I'm not afraid of no little white girl," he said at one point, referring to his infamous shooting years ago.

He also had a few other select lines that fit with the movie, including, "This s*** just got magical" and "Get witch or die tryin'."

Although Jolie personifies Maleficent perfectly in the video, 50 Cent definitely gave her a run for her money, thanks to Jimmy Kimmel. The rapper showed his softer side, and that he definitely has a sense of humor when he wants to. During his interview with Kimmel, he also opened up about his wayward pitch during last week's Mets game.

The ball was sent far to the left of home plate, but 50 Cent laughed that one off as well.

"The worst part was watching the catcher's face," he explained.

"One thing you don't have at the house is a pitcher's mound," Kimmel replied, although 50's mansion does have pretty much everything else, including a nightclub.

This is Dexter at his finest. Please note his shaking hips, involuntary happy noises and general zest for life. That's so Dexter.

2. Flower child Dexter

Dexter with a flower is just about the cutest thing we've seen all week. We've already added this video to our "when we're feeling low" internet routine. We suggest you do the same.

3. For the love of a good hot dog Dexter

We get it, Dexter. We love hot dogs this much, too.

5. Dexter and his "enemy"

Enemy may be a strong term here, but it's clear Dexter is not into this toy, and it's clear he gets a lot of pleasure from tearing it apart. Even Dexter's destruction is passionate.

6. Sweater Dexter

Let's focus on the five things we love about this video: 1) the sweater, 2) Dexter's wagging tail, 3) the sweater, 4) the toy, 5) but mainly the sweater.

Dexter is legitimately shaking with joy here. Dexter, what's your secret to living life so happily? Are you willing to do a TED Talk on the subject?

8. Tennis Dexter

Dexter loves a good tennis ball. Well, loves, adores, shows more exuberance for a tennis ball than any dog ever has. You pick the description — they all apply.

It has been a long custody battle to decide who is responsible for the well-being of legendary radio host Casey Kasem — a battle that may end in a hospital in western Washington. Kasem is listed in critical condition at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington.

Casey Kasem hospitalized after wife throws raw meat >>

"Mr. Kasem is alert and appears comfortable at this time," Scott Thompson, a spokesman for the hospital, told CNN.

Thompson added that the 82-year-old is receiving antibiotics through an IV, medicine for blood pressure and care for his bedsores.

Kasem's wife Jean and children have been battling over the custody of Kasem for the last year, and his daughter Kerri recently won the right to take care of him for the time being after he was reported missing. The children had said Casey Kasem's wife wasn't allowing his children to visit.

After finding Kasem at the home of a family friend, Kerri Kasem had a doctor examine her father. He was then admitted to the hospital by ambulance.

"Any further updates on Mr. Kasem's condition will be at the discretion and approval of his children," Thompson explained.

Casey Kasem's wife stripped of power over his medical care >>

A spokesperson for Kerri Kasem said that other family members were on their way to Washington. When asked if they feared their father might die, he said, "It could be his last moments, or he could get better," according to CNN. The spokesperson's office said there will be further information available about the court case on Friday, June 6.

Kasem hosted American Top 40 and Casey's Top 40 for decades, and retired in 2009.
