It's true: Babies are being cured of HIV

Is there a cure for babies born with HIV? Doctors say the case of a second virus-free child seems that it could be so.

This week, researchers presented a case at the annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in Boston about a California baby born with HIV that was given three antiretroviral drugs hours after delivery. The baby does not show any indicators of the virus.

One researcher says about five other cases in South Africa and Canada seem to have had similar results.

Most recently, doctors administered the cocktail of AZT, 3TC and Nevirapine to a baby born last summer in California whose mother had AIDS. Hours later, doctors could not find the virus in her system. It’s similar to a case in Mississippi where a girl given the drugs has no evidence of the disease.

While the three-drug combination method shows promise, the results would need to be replicated in a clinical trial before new precedents are set on caring for infants with the virus.

Dr. Deborah Persaud, a virologist with Johns Hopkins Children's Center who was involved in both cases, said a trial is set to launch in a few months.

The virus passes from HIV-positive mothers onto children via antibodies, though only about 30 percent of mothers transmit the virus, according to Dr. Katherine Luzuriaga, an immunologist at the University of Massachusetts. With the appropriate treatment, HIV-positive mothers pass the virus on in only two percent of cases.

Overview

The first breed of the Americans, the Xoloitzcuintli is the oldest dog on the planet and the official pooch of Mexico. A godlike or healing dog, the name comes from the Aztec language. Also known as a Xolo (pronounced show-low), this is the first breed inducted into the American Kennel Club. The breed nearly fell into extinction in the 1800s. Becoming popular again thanks to celebrities, the breed was re-inducted into the AKC in the mid- to late 1900s. Often referred to as a Mexican Hairless Dog, there are actually a few varieties of the breed. Coming in toy, miniature and standard, one in five of the breed is born with hair. The only dog beginning with the letter X, the Xolo is still used as a protector against evil spirits in Central America. Often used in ugly dog competitions, these pups enjoy warmer weather and have very sensitive skin.

Breed standards

  • AKC group: Non-sporting
  • UKC group: Sighthound and Pariah
  • Average lifespan: 16 - 20 years
  • Average size: 5 - 45 pounds depending on size variety
  • Coat appearance: Soft and smooth if hairless or short and flat if hairy
  • Coloration: Black, gray, gray-black, red, bronze
  • Hypoallergenic: Yes
  • Other identifiers: Unique look with bat-like ears and features; dark, almond-shaped eyes; long tail and strong, athletic legs
  • Possible alterations: May be born with hair or have blue eyes

Is this breed right for you?

A kind and family-oriented breed, the Xolo should be monitored around young children. Good for apartment living, this dog will need adequate exercise to remain happy. Due to jumping, it's best that a Xolo has a fenced-in yard. Preferring warmer climates, Xolos cannot be outside pets due to their tender skin, and will not do well being kenneled either. Requiring sunblock and care, a Xolo is easy to groom but will need extra maintenance for his sensitive skin. In addition, he does require a special diet to avoid stomach problems. A nice breed, the Xolo is very attached to his owner and can be emotionally hurt easily. Intelligent, he's easy to train and will not respond well to harsh leadership. Considered a good watchdog, he will protect and serve his master without second thought.

A dream day in the life of a Xoloitzcuintli

If the Xoloitzcuintli had his way, he would sit on his owner's lap from sunup to sundown. However, since this may not be the healthiest way for him to live his life, it would be best to incorporate a walk and playtime in the Xolo's day. Enjoying playing outside, the breed will like to play with the older children and climb fences or trees if available to him. Going to sleep at his owner's feet, the Xolo will dream the night away while he keeps his ear out to protect the home.

Mean Girls was an unlikely little film in 2004, but turned into something of a cult hit. The film, produced by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels, also starred some big names, including Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried and Rachel McAdams.

VIDEO: Oprah tells off Lindsay Lohan — Cut the bulls*** >>

But, 10 years later, it looks like it may be time to revisit the story.

Lohan appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday night, March 6, and talked about the chances of a possible sequel. The conversation started with Fallon asking Lohan about a word she began using that he thought she may have made up.

"I thought you were making up a word like fetch," Fallon said, referring to Mean Girls.

The mention got Lohan talking about the film and everything she knows about the cast getting back together.

"When I was backstage I saw Tina [Fey], and she mentioned some sort of reunion," she said. "That would be amazing. She said she was talking to Lorne about it, so she was talking to the big boss."

Fallon volunteered his show for the reunion, likely as a skit. Whether Fey and Michaels are seriously in talks to remake the film, it's not clear if it would be something quick, like a skit, or a full film. But one thing is for sure, fans of Mean Girls agree with Lohan when she looked at the camera and said, "Tina, this is important. This needs to happen."

Are you keeping score about the number of times Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber break up and reunite? We've lost count at this point, but it looks like the two are back on.

According to E! News, the pop stars were spotted in McAllen, Texas, grabbing a bite to eat with several pals and one of Bieber's bodyguards nearby. The couple ate breakfast at Don Pepe's and tried to keep their presence as low-key as possible.

Has Bieber reached stalker status with Selena Gomez? >>

After a breakfast of huevos rancheros for the Biebs and pork chops with salsa for the "Come and Get It" singer, they headed off to the florist, LA Imports. They were seen hugging each other and talking about flowers.

Gomez is in the area for a concert tomorrow night at Hidalgo State Farm Arena. Bieber was last seen in Miami after his deposition in a civil case against his bodyguard. This sighting comes on the heels of the 20-year-old posting Gomez's photo from the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday. He captioned the photo, "Most elegant princess in the world."

This on-again, off-again saga is exhausting to follow. Their tumultuous relationship has gone on since 2011 and the duo seems to have a hard time letting go of each other. Gomez's rehab stint has even been blamed on Bieber's bad influence on the former Disney Channel star.

For now, consider the Biebs and Gomez back on... until they break up again.

Why e-readers are evil and books are far superior

Are you an e-reader or a bookie?

I won't do it. I won't buy an e-reader or a tablet. I won't. Call me old-fashioned, but there is something about holding a book in my hands. There's something about turning each page — a certain sense of accomplishment. I sniff books, I pet them and I decorate my house with them. Does this make me a dying breed?

It is true that e-reader sales are down, but not because people aren't reading e-books. Sales are down because the price of tablets has gone down, and tablets are multifunctional. You can do a lot more than just read on a tablet, so people are forgoing e-readers to multitask.

I do understand the e-book phenomenon from a practical perspective. E-readers and tablets allow book nerds to carry an entire bookcase in the palm of their hands. When book nerds vacation, they no longer have to leave that extra pair of shoes at home for the newest Patterson; now, they can fit both and more!

12 Books that will improve your outlook on life >>

I still won't do it. I will not convert.

Every day, I read about independent bookstores closing across the nation. These are bookstores that have been around for decades, and now, they're closing down. I'm a bookstore geek. I enjoy wandering the aisles, seeking out my next great read like a detective scoping for clues. I spend hours in bookstores, but I'm afraid someday they'll be gone. Then, where will someone like me go to hide?

Jerry Seinfeld once said, "A bookstore is one of the many pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking." A bookstore is a place to go and meet like-minded folks. It's a place to talk about books, authors and... nerdy things. In a bookshop, you share a commonality with everyone there: you're all looking for something.

10 Unexpected places to meet men >>

E-readers are so cold, so solitary. With an e-reader, you sit in your empty house all by yourself and read your lonely book. There is no sense of community. It's just you and technology — and we all know technology is evil. Just ask John Connor.

Plus, I have the endless fear that if I got an e-reader, it might crash, and boom! Books gone. The only way that'll happen with an actual book is if my house literally burns to the ground.

Your choice

Will you condone the death of bookstores? Or will you seek out that dog-eared copy of Catcher in the Rye? Will you make conversation with that cute guy in the suspense section? Will you be old-fashioned like me?

It's still hard to believe that sexy Susan Sarandon is going to be a grandmother. However, we now know she is going to be a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl.

On Thursday, Sarandon's daughter, Eva Amurri Martino, announced the baby's gender via Twitter. She wrote, "Who run the world? GIRLS! #BabyGirlMartino." The 28-year-old mother-to-be also included a sweet mother-daughter shoe photo from her WhoSay account.

He wrote, "Found out our child will never be on the @ussoccer team....but may be on the @ussoccer_wnt. #ItsAGirl!!!"

The couple first announced their pregnancy on the day of love, Feb. 14. Eva told People, "Having a family has always been a priority for us both and we couldn't be happier!"

The duo got married in October 2011. Eva continues to act in shows like New Girl, How I Met Your Mother and The Mindy Project. Her husband is now a soccer analyst for NBC Sports.

As for the grandmother-to-be, she's been busy dating her 36-year-old business partner, Jonathan Bricklin. Together they own SPiN, a ping-pong club in New York. She has yet to comment publicly about her granddaughter-to-be, but if she's as excited as her daughter and son-in-law, that's going to be one lucky baby.

Congratulations, Eva and Kyle!

Kim Kardashian & Kanye West hammer out their prenup

With that reported May 24 wedding date looming, it looks like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are focusing in on a prenuptial agreement before the big day. According to Radar Online, things are moving rapidly and without fuss between the couple.

Unlike the frustrating negotiations with ex-husband Kris Humphries, Kim doesn't have much to argue about with Kanye.

The astrological meaning behind Kimye's wedding date >>

A source told the gossip site, "The entire process for the prenup for Kim and Kanye has been extremely easy and relatively drama-free. Kanye didn't even think the couple needed a prenup and was ready to give Kim carte blanche to all of his financial assets. Yes, he loves Kim that much. There is a huge difference from Kim's prenup with Kris Humphries… the preparation of their agreement went on for several months. It was long and tedious."

Here's how insiders are reporting the prenup will break down: Kardashian will get $1 million per year for every year she is married to the musician. That number will be capped at $10 million. In addition, the reality star will get the title of their new Bel Air home in her name, and she is entitled to keep all of the gifts and jewelry given to her by West.

The income she earns from her reality show and other merchandising ventures will be considered her separate income. There are no custody stipulations over their daughter, North, and a life insurance policy worth $20 million will be the E! TV personality's to keep even if they divorce.

Kanye West forbids Kim Kardashian from doing paid dates >>

That doesn't sound like a bad deal at all for Kardashian. However, the insider told Radar Online that the couple sees it from a more romantic perspective.

"The couple is focused on the wedding and looking forward to spending the rest of their lives together. Kim is head over heels in love with Kanye and knows this is forever. Despite having been married twice before, Kim is treating this wedding as her one and only," said the source.

Let's hope that the third trip down the aisle is the one that sticks!

Women of soul take over the White House

There was a whole lot of girl power up in the White House last night! Michelle Obama hosted the Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House concert, which was a scheduled part of Women's History Month. "As someone who shares this house with brilliant, creative, talented, somewhat stubborn women," Barack Obama said, according to ABC News, "I think Women's History Month is the perfect time to honor a few more: the women of soul."

Michelle Obama to release hip-hop album to help kids >>

According to CBS News, the event was a huge success — aside from one teeny tiny little gaffe by Mrs. Obama's husband while he was paying tribute to the great Aretha Franklin. "When Aretha first told us what R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her," Obama said, then paused to wait for the eruption of audience laughter to cease. "She had no idea it would be a rallying cry for African-Americans, women and then everyone who felt marginalized because of what they looked like or who they loved," he continued. Despite the flub by the president (who also paid tribute to the late Harold Ramis recently), the overwhelmingly positive message was well received.

Another highlight of the concert was the powerful voice of a young singer relatively new to the music scene. Ariana Grande (who has shown the world she has diva potential) seemed a bit nervous to take the stage in such legendary company, but she proved that her voice can hang with the big girls' as she brought the (White) House down with Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing."

Franklin didn't seem to mind Obama's misspelling of one of her most famous songs. As she took the stage, she declared she was ready "to party."

Other performers included Melissa Etheridge, Patti LaBelle, Jill Scott and Janelle Monáe.

Not wanting her POTUS husband to be alone in his embarrassment, Michelle (who we already know loves to party) created a blush-worthy moment of her own. "Find your own voice and then be proud of it," the first lady said after referencing a comment by LaBelle about taking chances and singing her butt off. "And then sing your butt off. Or work your butt off. Or whatever you do, do it until your butt comes off. OK, that quote is going to be kind of funny in the papers. Already know it."

The concert airs April 7 on PBS.

Jennifer Lawrence's bf dishes about their relationship

Jennifer Lawrence has certainly been riding high on her career success the past couple of years, and judging by comments her long-term boyfriend and fellow actor Nicholas Hoult has made, her personal life ain't doin' so bad either.

Jennifer Lawrence left mortified by her sex toy discovery >>

Hoult, who you might remember as "R" in Warm Bodies, spilled his guts about his feelings for his supertalented gf in a recent interview with VMAN magazine, according to The Huffington Post. His candor is a bit surprising, considering the lovebirds usually keep their romantic details locked down tighter than Fort Knox. Not that we're complaining.

The actor, who briefly split from Lawrence back in 2013 and undoubtedly spends a great deal of time away from his significant other, spoke of the "brilliant" time he had when they got to work together on set while filming X-Men: Days of Future Past. "It's fun because in this business you are away from one another for long periods of time, so when you are on set together it's a brilliant thing, because you actually get to spend time together. Especially on this film, I got to spend time with her," Hoult confessed.

The awesomely supportive Hoult also gushed about how much he admires Lawrence for being able to remain grounded despite being Hollywood's "It" girl. "It's like that thing whereby you don't believe your own hype. Enjoy the good times, but don't get swept away with it," he said, adding, "I think that's something she's capable of doing, and that's what makes her special, but yeah, it's very odd, and I am just kind of a bystander in many ways. It is well-deserved for her. I haven't really seen any change in her."

Not that dating a mega-star doesn't come without its stresses. "The privacy thing changes but the rest pretty much stays the same," Hoult said.

Look for the article and Hoult's photo shoot with Mario Testino in the spring edition of VMAN magazine, out March 13.

And in the end you want to be with someone who makes you the best version of yourself."

3 reasons Kesha's name change is a step in the right direction

It's been a challenging year for Kesha, who entered rehab for an eating disorder in back in January, but the pop star recently exited the facility and debuted her new happy outlook on life. Now that she's back on the outside, she has a new Twitter handle and, according to TMZ, has changed the "$" in her name to "s" to mirror her new point of view. Here's why we think @KeshaRose will come out on top by celebrating herself and ditching the dirty, sucky old name.

Demi Lovato admits she was uncontrollable before rehab >>

1

Choose your name, choose your destiny

Maybe the songstress didn't even come up with the name on her own, and the former Twitter handle was a statement against the moniker Ke$ha itself. There's a strong possibility the name was picked by producers, her label, whatever "team" she had in place before hitting the big time: the same people Ke$ha claimed pushed her toward an eating disorder in the first place. @KeshaRose symbolizes the artist stripping down and becoming herself again. And speaking of stripping...

2

New name, new lifestyle

$ reminds of dollar bills. Dollar bills remind us of strippers. Strippers remind us of glitter. Glitter reminds us of pre-rehab Ke$ha, who had a poor self-image. Is it possible this rings true for the pop star as well? A little party never hurt nobody, but now that she's focusing on her own health, that raging lifestyle might be a thing of the past.

3

Do away with the negative

Lastly, and perhaps most simply, the handle @Ke$haSuxx reeks of negativity. It was an overt way for the formerly self-loathing celeb to put herself down. As implied by the symbolic pic of herself on a plane she posted yesterday, she is ready to leave all that behind. And judging by another photo she posted on Instagram, she's ready to thrive.

Considering Kesha's mother claims the singer nearly died from starvation before getting help, we truly hope that she is now on the right path and wish her well. We're in your corner and hope you come back better than ever. Three cheers for positivity, Kesha Rose!

7 Truths Oprah's new show taught us about Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is very polite

Yes, Lindsay Lohan is an actress desperate to get her career on track who recognizes that her fairy godmother, Oprah, has given her one chance to make that happen. It stands to reason that Lohan may have a strategy to appear or act a certain way to win fans back. Regardless of whether or not it's an act, in the premiere of her reality TV show on OWN on Sunday night, Lohan was polite to everyone — saying please and thank you at every opportunity. Even when she got snippy with her Realtor after living in a hotel room for more than 30 days (a lifestyle that she says is reminiscent of a destructive time in her life so she hates it), she prefaced her irritation with the broker by saying, "I'm not trying to be rude."

Lindsay Lohan

Lohan has a lot of stuff

Holy acquired crap. In the opening of the show, we follow Lohan to a storage facility. We envision a storage unit, maybe two, like most of us would get when we move. Instead we are taken to a Costco-like warehouse with boxes and crates of Lohan's possessions. Many of the boxes are filled with miscellaneous, random junk, and we never see what's in the crates. Throughout the documentary, we see Lohan on the floor sifting through piles of jewelry. If — as the rumors suggest — Lohan is in financial trouble, she could try auctioning off some of her warehouse possessions.

Her assistant is hot

Matt Harrell, who has worked with Prince and Steven Tyler, is now Lohan's assistant. And we've got to say — the guy's kind of hot. We're not sure if it's because he always wears a suit, that he does all of Lohan's personal bidding (who wouldn't want that?) or if it's because he talks about Lohan in a truthful but professional way — but Harrell had us saying, "How you doin'?" Makes a girl wonder what's going on under that suit — wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

What Selena, Kanye, Miley & Lindsay Lohan have in common >>

Low maintenance, kind of

Previews for upcoming episodes profile Lohan as a bit of a diva, but in the premiere of Lindsay, we didn't see a lot of theatrics. In fact, the first 20 minutes were downright dull. She's polite to the movers. She isn't terribly demanding with her real estate agent — the only time she appears a bit demanding is when they are discussing square footage (and toward the end of the show when she gets impatient with her broker for not disclosing that she has to sign a $10 million insurance waiver). Lohan seems pretty laid back until…

You breach her trust

If you bait and switch Lohan, that is when s*** gets real. In the docuseries, Lohan explains she has trust issues stemming from her dad's broken promises. So we see Lohan pitch a fit when a friend/producer lures her into doing a shoot and when she arrives, the producer has drastically changed the format and scope of what Lohan initially agreed to. We also see Lohan get a little restless when, as mentioned above, she can't get into her apartment until she signs a $10 million insurance waiver that was not part of the original deal. Lohan admits to having trust issues and getting "pissed" when people lie to her, but in fairness, anyone would get annoyed in these situations.

Smokes like a stack

Like a lot of recovering addicts (if the participants on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew are any indication), Lohan smokes. A lot. And indoors. We thought there were rules and regulations against indoor smoking in most public places, but Lohan clearly needs her nicotine to keep an even keel (and that skinny bod!).

Lindsay Lohan and Oprah

Compromised coping skills

Anxiety is a killer and it's difficult to imagine how anxiety is magnified when you are a recovering addict. For all of Lohan's recovery achievements, her coping skills seem a bit compromised at times. Of course, if we were in the middle of a move, starting a new reality TV show with the most famous woman in television (Oprah) and lived our life under a microscope, we'd probably get rattled occasionally, too. It will be interesting to see what Lohan does with this pressure as the show progresses. Will it teach her how to deal with conflict without hitting the bottle or will it send her spiraling out of control?

Meatless Monday: Zucchini & corn quesadillas with spicy homemade salsa

Zucchini & corn quesadillas with spicy homemade salsa

This Meatless Monday recipe for zucchini and corn quesadillas with spicy homemade salsa combines the best of a few worlds! You'll find a bit of crunch and color from the zucchini and corn, gooeyness from the cheese and let's not leave out the heat you'll discover from this simple homemade salsa.

Just because a meal is simple doesn't mean it has to be boring. Admittedly, zucchini isn't the first veggie I think to add to a quesadilla, but it has worked its way to the top of my list. I love the color and bit of crunch it adds to what is a favorite (and quick to make) meal.

Zucchini & corn quesadillas with spicy homemade salsa

Let's not forget the salsa! I have a feeling you might forgo the jarred variety for this spicy homemade option — another part of this meal that couldn't be easier to make. This recipe combines color, crunch, gooey cheese and a spicy salsa that definitely makes a satisfying, meatless meal.

Zucchini & corn quesadillas with spicy homemade salsa recipe

Serves 2

Ingredients:

For the salsa

  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 pepper and 1 tablespoon sauce from a 7-ounce can chipotle peppers in adobo sauce (reserve the remaining for another recipe)
  • 3 tablespoons diced onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

For the quesadillas

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 (12 inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 small zucchini, ends trimmed, sliced very thin
  • 1 cup corn (thawed if frozen)
  • 4 ounces shredded Mexican-style cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Directions:

For the salsa

  1. Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, then remove from the heat and bring to room temperature.
  2. Transfer to a small food processor and blend until smooth.

For the quesadillas

  1. Add 1/2 tablespoon of vegetable oil to a skillet over medium heat. When hot, add 1 tortilla to the skillet.
  2. Layer half the zucchini slices over half the quesadilla, followed by half the corn. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper.
  3. Add 2 ounces of the cheese over the vegetables, and fold the tortilla in half over the ingredients.
  4. When the tortilla has browned a bit after a few minutes of cooking, carefully flip it over and cook the other side for another few minutes.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining ingredients.
  6. Slice each quesadilla into wedges and serve warm with the salsa over the top or on the side.

Tie together great flavors, colors and textures in this dish!

St. Patrick's day activities | Sheknows.com

I found two similar activities that allow the flexibility to teach multiple children in different grade levels at the same time. Homeschooling is always more fun when everyone can participate and learn together.

I found the lessons below at Mom on Deals and No Time for Flash Cards. We used the basic themes and tweaked them to work for our educational needs.

Learning rainbow

St. Patricks day activity learning rainbow | Sheknows.com

Supplies:

  • Small cardboard snack box or cereal box
  • Construction paper in various colors
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape

Directions:

  1. Cut a half circle toward the top of your box, allowing enough room to make a rainbow above the half circle.
  2. Have your child cut out or color a black pot, a rainbow and 2 clovers.
  3. Once the items are cut out of the construction paper, they can be glued or taped to the box to form a rainbow that sits above the half circle.
  4. The black pot will sit below the opening of the half circle so that coins can go "into the pot."

Fun Fact:

According to Irish tradition, the shamrock or three-leaf clover represents the Holy Trinity — the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. When a four-leaf clover is found, it represents God's grace.

Learning clovers

St. Patricks day activity learning clover | Sheknows.com

Supplies:

  • Colored craft sticks (wooden or foam)
  • Card stock
  • 3 clovers cut out of card stock or foam
  • Pencil for tracing
  • Scissors

Directions:

  1. Mark the numbers 1, 2 and 3 on the clovers.
  2. You can teach a simple syllable game by clapping out St. Patrick's Day vocabulary words and matching them to the correct syllable clover.
  3. Words with 1 syllable will go with the number 1 clover, and so on. You can also write math problems on the colored sticks and have your child match the correct math problem to the correct answer on the clovers.

Use these crafts to teach multiple subjects

Math

Both crafts can be used for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts. With the learning clovers you can write math problems on the colored sticks and match them to the correct answer on the clover. Use the learning rainbow in much the same way by matching the correct problem and answer on the coins. Once the coins have been matched, they can go into the golden pot.

Vocabulary / language arts / history

Learning rainbow: Label the coins with vocabulary words about St. Patrick's Day and the history of Ireland. You can throw the coins on the ground and have the children take turns picking up the coins and giving a definition of the word on their coin, as well as using the word in a sentence. Get the creative juices flowing and have children tell a story with the coins they pick up. You can start a short story about St. Patrick or Ireland and each child will continue making up the story with facts as each coin is picked up. The child with the last coin will end the story. You can also try a rhyme game with younger children by matching words that rhyme and then putting them in the gold pot.

Learning clovers: You can try the above games in much the same way with the colored sticks. The three clovers are the perfect set up to teach syllables. Match the syllables in each word to the correct clovers 1, 2 and 3.

St. Patrick's Day Vocabulary Words

  • apostle
  • bagpipe
  • bishop
  • blarney
  • clover
  • fiddle
  • Gaels
  • horseshoe
  • Ireland
  • jig
  • legend
  • leprechaun
  • missionary
  • Scotland
  • shamrock
  • snake
  • St. Patrick

Memory game

Create a memory game with vocabulary words or St. Patrick's Day stickers on the coins. Place coins face down and have your child find the matching words or pictures by flipping the coins over, one at a time, and finding matching pairs. When a matching pair is found, they place the pair in the golden pot and continue until all of the coins are in the pot.

Science

Study the newfound science behind the four-leaf clover. Learn what a rainbow is and how they form. Learn about the seven colors found in a rainbow as well as prisms and white light.

The best part about these crafts is the many ways you can incorporate fun, hands-on, educational lessons that will feel much more like playing than learning.

Fun Fact:

Rainbows occur when water droplets scatter white light rays from the sun into their component colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Jennifer Aniston's body trade: Who would she choose?

Jennifer Aniston reveals who's body she'd like to trade for

Women across the globe would kill to have a figure that looks as good as Jennifer Aniston's!

The 45-year-old star has a lot of positives happening in her life right now. Not only is she smoking hot in her mid-40s and enjoying a successful career, she's also engaged to some serious eye candy — Justin Theroux!

So it may come as a bit of a surprise to learn that the Horrible Bosses 2 actress would like to trade bodies with another woman for 24 hours, although, since that woman is the beautiful Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen, we can forgive her for the body envy.

In a candid interview with Self Magazine, Aniston opens up about her disdain for selfies, her impressive cocktail skills and who she'd like to trade bodies with. And guess what? She's managed to make us love her even more!

When asked if she could switch bodies with one person for a day, Aniston quickly revealed who her body inspiration was. She said, "I'd love to be able to ski like a crazy person, like Lindsey Vonn. Then I'd also like to have Gisele [Bündchen]'s body, just 'cuz, why not?"

And the interview is not all body envy-related — no, Aniston has a little trailer trash secret, too. The former Friends star has a love of Bloody Marys and apparently makes a rather mean one. So was she willing to cough up her secret?

"It's actually just Mr. & Mrs. T Bloody Mary Mix!" Aniston confessed. "It's very trailer trash. But it's the amount of lime, a splash of olive juice and a couple of other secrets I can't give away."

Also, there's one thing that you will never find Aniston doing! When asked to make a choice between giving up her favorite food or posting a selfie every day for a year on Instagram, the Just Go With It actress confessed, "I'd definitely give up Mexican food for a year."

"I don't have Instagram. And I'm not a fan of selfies. I don't understand them. I feel like there's enough out there, why add to it?"

Guess Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj didn't get that memo?
