Thomas Rhett's Baby Turns 1, & the Pics Are Beyond

What's a first birthday without a grubby, happy, cake-covered baby? Thankfully, country singer Thomas Rhett has some photos that fit the bill, as his little girl, Ada James, looks like she dove into her birthday cake face-first.

It looks like Ada really enjoyed her Coco-themed birthday cake. The dark blue frosting totally got everywhere, including her face (of course), her fancy white shirt that says, "One," and her white high chair... even the seat. She looks pretty pleased with the whole situation, with her sparkly "1" birthday hat on her head and a huge, cake-fueled smile on her face.

Thomas Rhett's family is just more adorable with each Instagram shot he posts (I mean, check out this amazing matching swimsuit shot!). The couple adopted their older daughter, Willa Gray, from Uganda, and it was during the lengthy adoption process that his wife, Lauren Akins, discovered she was pregnant. In fact, it was during her third trimester that the adoption went through. Akins had to fly home to get a checkup, but Akins' mom and dad were able to bring Willa home to her new parents.

Let's hope these parents continue to post super-charming photos of the girls as they grow. While Ada may not be smashing her face into a birthday cake when she's a teenager, these treasured family photos are certainly something to look forward to — and look back on — as the years go by.

Rhett told People, "Before you become a dad, you talk to other dads and moms and everybody is like, 'Dude, soak it in because it’s going to go fast. And somebody told me this quote: 'The days are long and the years are short.' I don’t think you fully understand what that means until you have kids."

We have always adored and will continue to adore the Scott brothers. And it was no different when the time came to closely follow Drew Scott and his now-wife, Linda Phan, as their wedding plans came together and culminated in a gorgeous Italian destination wedding. Now, we're finally getting to hear about their first big milestone as a married couple: the honeymoon. According to Scott, who recently opened up to Us Weeklyit sounds like he and Phan have opted for something a little unexpected (but totally wonderful!) for their special trip.

“We’re not traditional — we don’t want to just go relax on a beach somewhere,” Scott told Us. “Laying on the beach, yeah, that has never been a big thing for us.”

So what did Scott and Phan do? Well, the pair partnered with WE — a philanthropic organization helps to empower "communities to lift themselves out of poverty through our holistic, sustainable international development model" — and went to the Amazon to help build homes.

"For our honeymoon, we actually went to Ecuador, which is at the end of the Amazon rainforest, into a small village, and [we helped] build these bathrooms" in villages which "have never had bathrooms.”

Of course, building homes in the tropics may not seem very romantic, but Phan believes that that is what made it perfect. "The trip was great for me because we’re not conventional in terms of romance and date nights."

And fear not: the couple did manage to find some down time. Scott told Us that he “worked with [WE resort Minga Lodge] one night to set up a romantic dinner for me [him] and Linda" and that, when the newlyweds were in the Galapagos, they "had this surprise next-to-the-water, romantic dinner."

We May Finally Have a Drug to Treat Postpartum Depression

One out of every 7 women has experienced (or will experience) postpartum depression. It's a perinatal mood disorder that affects new moms, and it is characterized by prolonged periods of sadness, anxiety, irritability and fear. However, there may soon be help (and hope) for women in the grips of PPD: Scientific American reports that a drug specifically tailored to treat postpartum depression is close to receiving approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

More: What to Know About Postpartum Depression & Anxiety

Of course, postpartum depression is nothing new. According to Spring Hill College’s Peace and Justice Magazine, the earliest reports of women experiencing emotional difficulties after childbirth date back to 700 B.C. However, it didn’t become a defined medical condition until 1850.

That said, since that time, treatment options haven’t changed very much, i.e., postpartum depression was (and still is) treated the same way as generalized depression: with cognitive therapy, psychotherapy and SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). But brexanolone, a new drug from Sage Therapeutics, may change all that.

Brexanolone was submitted to the FDA in April after successfully completing phase three clinical trials. While the approval process can take some time, positive results from phase two clinical trials caused the FDA to give brexanolone “breakthrough therapy” status, which expedites the application, which — according to Endpoints News — should be reviewed and approved by Dec. 19.

So, how does this medication differ from other antidepressants? Well, according to Scientific American journalist Dana G. Smith, the reason for the drug’s success has to do with biology. When a mother becomes pregnant, she “experiences a dramatic rise in the reproductive hormones estrogen and progesterone." She also experiences a spike in allopregnanolone, a neuro-steroid, which when triggered activates GABA receptors. During pregnancy, these chemicals have little to no effect on the body. However, if the GABA receptors do not rebound as they are supposed to, women can experience postpartum symptoms. "Immediately following birth, estrogen, progesterone and allopregnanolone drop back to normal levels, after which GABA receptor levels rebound quickly. But in some new mothers, the readjustment in GABA receptors takes longer... [and] this lag may underlie the depression some women experience postpartum.”

In short, brexanolone will work to reactivate the GABA receptors — not to increase serotonin levels, which SSRIs do.

Of course, whether this drug will work on all women with postpartum depression remains to be seen; however, the potential for this product is unparalleled.

9 Quick Tips That Will Make Your Mani-Pedis Healthier & Longer-Lasting

There are few things more cathartic than having your hands and feet pampered at the salon or blocking out time to carefully paint them yourself. The process forces you to put down the phone, focus on one thing and treat yourself to a little sparkle (or color, depending on your style). Rigid rules would definitely take the fun and relaxation out of a mani-pedi sesh, but there are a few guidelines that will keep your nails healthier and extend the length of your paint job.

More: Stunning Celebrity Nails to Inspire Your Summer Manicure

Play nice with your cuticles

According to Skyy Hadley, celebrity manicurist and owner of As U Wish Nail Spa in Hoboken, New Jersey, and Blink Beauty Boutique in Harlem, New York, one of the biggest misconceptions about mani-pedis is that the cuticles have to be trimmed or cut off completely.

“Trimming or cutting cuticles is purely cosmetic and sometimes doesn’t even benefit the nail in any way,” she says. “It’s important to remember that the cuticle is the barrier to protect the surrounding skin and help protect the nail from infections.”

Push them back if you must, but they’re there for a reason.

Don’t forget the other side

Understandably so, we’re more concerned with the top part of our nail — especially if we’re doing them at home — but don’t forget about the bottom.

“When cutting your nails, always make sure that you clean under the nail,” says Hadley. “Otherwise, bacteria could form.” Also, keep your clipping supplies separate. Keep one reserved for your fingers and the other for your toes.

Match your nail shape & cuticle

Ever been stuck on how exactly to cut your nails? If you’re unsure of what shape they should be — whether round, square or in between the two — just look at your cuticles.

“The U-shape of the cuticle should be reflected (upside down) by the top of your nail. The primary goal is to mirror the shape,” says Hadley.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Contrary to popular belief, cuticle oil shouldn’t be an optional part of nail care. According to Hadley, not only does it keep your feet and hands soft and moisturized; it also keeps your nail polish from chipping too.

Don’t forget your base

A base coat helps to give the color something to sink into besides your actual nails, and it prevents the nails from getting stained. You only need one coat of this and should wait at least a minute before applying color on top. There’s no need to wait until it’s completely dry.

Seal the top

In addition to sealing in color, a topcoat is what gives your mani-pedi its shine and luster. Again, give your color (of which you can have two layers if the color is light or transparent) 60 seconds to settle before adding just one topcoat. Wait 2-3 days if you want to add a second.

Avoid heat

Try not to handle any blow-dryers or hot ovens right after painting your nails. “Most people don’t know, but nail polish takes about 12 hours to harden,” says Hadley. “Too much heat can actually melt your polish. If you stick your nails in cold water for a few minutes, it will actually help harden your nail polish faster.”

More: The 20 Most Game-Changing Beauty Products of 2018 So Far

Stay away from scents

Scented lotions with synthetic fragrances can cause your nail polish to crack. Make sure to use lotions that are unscented if you need to moisturize.

Gel should always be short-term

Be careful with gel manicures. You should really only keep the gel and/or acrylic nails on for two weeks, but the cut-off would be three weeks. It’s not good to keep them on any longer, as they will damage the nail beds and cuticles. Expired polish will also make infection more likely.

“There are nail polishes that actually don’t have a shelf life, like organic nail polishes, which can actually be kept in the fridge if you choose,” says Hadley. “However, polishes that contain chemicals like toluene and formaldehyde should be replaced every six months as a good rule of thumb.”

Did Ben Affleck Break Up With Lindsay Shookus?

Since his split with Jennifer Garner in 2015, Ben Affleck has been situated firmly in the spotlight of public fascination over his romantic travails. And, for the last year, SNL producer Lindsay Shookus has been sharing that spotlight. But with Affleck seen leaving dinner at Nobu in Malibu, California, on Aug. 16 with Playboy model Shauna Sexton, speculation that the actor-director broke up with Shookus is ramping up.

More: This May Be the Real Reason Jennifer Garner Isn't Officially Divorcing Ben Affleck Yet

But are they really broken up? Or just taking a night off from each other? The evidence at this point is anecdotal, at best. Here’s what we know.

On Thursday, Affleck was spotted leaving Nobu, where Sexton was also spotted. In fact, both Affleck and Sexton were photographed leaving the upscale Malibu eatery — but not together. PEOPLE referenced the fact that Affleck enjoyed dinner that evening “with friends,” implying he and Sexton were not alone.

An Us Weekly source seemed to confirm that the pair wasn’t alone but was vague as to whether the other guests were friends or part of Affleck’s working entourage. “Ben came in with a big team,” the source told Us Weekly. “He had bodyguards all around. He sat outside with Shauna, and they got a lot of food.”

Another source implied Affleck definitely wasn’t with Sexton, saying, “Ben arrived by himself and left by himself in his car. He tipped the valet with a $100 bill.”

So, is it possible Sexton simply happened to be among the group of friends Affleck was hanging out with? Sure. But alternately, there is some intel pointing to the contrary (or at least to a breakup with Shookus).

The night before his Nobu outing, Affleck celebrated his 46th birthday with his three children, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. Shookus was not in attendance and, per TMZ, the couple hasn’t been photographed together since late July.

And, while it could be entirely coincidental, a moving van was parked in front of Affleck’s $19 million Pacific Palisades mansion on Aug. 9, suggesting someone was moving either in or out. People previously reported that Shookus splits her time between Affleck’s home and her own place in L.A.

According to E! News, Affleck “feels it is over with Lindsay.” Regardless of their current relationship status, though, the Batman star apparently hoped to avoid the paparazzi during his dinner date with Sexton and pals. “He is not happy that there were photos,” an insider told E!.

Miranda Lambert's Rumored Boyfriend Is Officially Unmarried

It’s official — Evan Felker is no longer a married man. According to E! News, a source has confirmed that Miranda Lambert’s reputed boyfriend and his wife of just over one year, Staci Nelson (formerly Felker), have finalized their divorce.

Felker, the frontman for the Turnpike Troubadours, first met Lambert in person in early February, when his band played three dates on Lambert’s Livin’ Like Hippies tour. By mid-February he had filed for divorce from Nelson and, shortly after, rumors began circulating that he was dating Lambert.

More: Miranda Lambert Gets Real About Heartbreak & Refusing to 'Be Good'

In April, a source told People that Felker “full-on ghosted” his new wife by skipping his flight back to their hometown of Oklahoma after the Livin’ Like Hippies tour ended. He reportedly emailed Nelson at the time to say, “I’m not coming home this week.” The source claimed that the following month Felker “laid it all on the table, like, ‘Surprise!’”

In July, the alleged couple was photographed publicly for the first time, holding hands in New York City ahead of a show date at the Jones Beach Theater.

While neither Lambert or Felker have directly commented on their relationship status, Nelson has indirectly alluded to the demise of her marriage multiple times on social media.

In April, shortly after news broke of Lambert and Felker’s alleged relationship (and possible affair prior to), Nelson posted an Instagram Story that seemed to show her singing along to Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” while her friend beside her wears a “Team Staci” t-shirt.  She posted a selfie on her Instagram Story the same week showing teary eyes and sporting the caption, “PSA: If Staci Elker can make it through this week, so can you.”

More: Miranda Lambert's Love Life May Have Just Gotten More Complicated

And in early August, she shared that same teary photo on Instagram. Nelson devoted the lengthy caption to the best friends who “hid me out for months before things became public, because — trust me — there was a portion of this you wouldn’t have want to see.”

But on Aug. 17, the day the divorce began making headlines, Nelson posted an Instagram photo that felt decidedly more optimistic. “Free on earth,” she captioned the serene photo of herself smiling.

Nelson isn’t the only linked to Lambert that has shared cryptic commentary about Lambert and Felker’s reported relationship, though. When the pair was first pegged to be in a romance back in April, Lambert’s ex-husband Blake Shelton tweeted, “Been taking the high road for a long time.. I almost gave up. But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”

Fans quickly assumed Shelton was alluding to Lambert. At the time her relationship with Felker went public, she was still dating Anderson East — whom sources widely speculated she had begun seeing while still married to Shelton.

Exactly How I Threw a Wedding That Cost Me Less Than $10,000

$

I wish I could say I never fell for what some wryly (and rightfully) call the “wedding industrial complex.” From rings that cost three times your salary to reality shows encouraging women to say yes to six-figure dresses, the message brides-to-be get is that you’re not taking your wedding — hell, your marriage — seriously if you don’t break the bank.

This is particularly true in the city my husband and I call home, Manhattan, where the average wedding costs more than $88,000.

More: The 13 Best Places to Buy Wedding Dresses on the Cheap

Though some part of me knew better, another part of me clung to a girlhood vision of a fairy-tale wedding draped in tulle and buttercream for a very long time. If money wasn’t an issue for me, my wedding would’ve featured horse-drawn carriages, ice sculptures, chocolate fountains, doves flying out of my ass — you get the picture.

But, of course, money was an issue for me, as it is for many of us. So when I first got engaged, my partner, Arran, and I sat down and worked out a wedding budget. We wanted to figure out what was reasonable to spend given our modest salaries (he works at an NGO; I’m a freelance writer). Since we’re both self-sufficient adults in our 30s, we didn’t expect our family members to foot the bill.

More: Pampas Grass Is the Underrated Plant Every Outdoor Wedding Needs

We’d saved a bit of money since moving in together, but neither of us was particularly eager to blow our life savings on one hour of passed hors d’oeuvres (no matter how delicious). So we set our wedding budget at $10,000 — by no means “cheap,” but a far cry from what Manhattan nuptials tend to cost.

And we did it. From start to finish, our wedding ran us about $10,000 — that includes our rehearsal dinner and our honeymoon too. Here, exactly how we planned the budget wedding of our dreams.

The power of embracing plan B

Initially, we had what I’d thought was a modest idea: We’d hold our wedding in Montauk, a village in New York’s Hamptons. We soon discovered modest and Hamptons were mutually exclusive terms, and we stumbled upon the first (and most enduring) lesson of planning a wedding on the cheap: Embrace plan B.

Flexibility became a running theme in decision-making. The pre-reception cocktail hour costs more than our first car? OK, we’ll do a Champagne toast instead. The over-the-top centerpieces are starting to add up? We’ll scrap the design for something simpler. Can’t bring ourselves to spend $250 on a flower crown? I can make one myself.

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

Without fail, the second I let go of the thing I’d had my heart set on, an even better option appeared. On Memorial Day, Arran and I were enjoying a casual lunch at one of our favorite farm-to-table restaurants in New York City’s Union Square Park when one of us said, “Why don’t we look into getting married here?”

Our new vision: a five-course sit-down dinner celebrating our love — and highlighting my second love, food. (See, I told you a better option always appeared.)

The appeal of the underrated (inexpensive) venue

Hosting your reception in a restaurant saves you money on rentals, staff and decorations. And if you choose a restaurant that’s not known for hosting weddings, like we did, they may be even more eager to work with you.

Another advantage: A lot of Manhattan restaurants are just the right size for an intimate gathering. Even though our venue could have hosted more, we kept our guest list to a minimum (around 50 people at $120 a head). And to shave some time (ahem, money) off the rental, we chose a nearby community garden as the ceremony location.

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

One consideration we had to keep in mind: Most New York City restaurants don’t allow dancing. For my fiancé and me, this was no big sacrifice. I don’t drink, and my husband dreaded the idea of a “first dance.”

This was an easy place for us to save, though I’m sure other couples might have a harder time bidding adieu to such cherished wedding traditions. (Remember, you can always save money on alcohol by doing a BYOB wedding rather than having an open bar!)

The necessity of penny-pinching

Instead of throwing our hands up and letting costs soar, we embraced every opportunity to save.

In lieu of pricey stationery, we went with digital invitations ($150). We took a chance on a photographer who was newer to the industry and booked three hours instead of six ($600). I paid a friend who works as a professional makeup artist ($200) and hired another acquaintance to do the wedding party’s hair ($200).

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

Instead of paying a requisite $2,000 “donation” for a Buddhist officiant, we entrusted the job to a friend (free!).

Swapping big-ticket must-haves for budget picks

I’d always imagined myself getting married in a straight-up ball gown. But when I started shopping, I found that traditional gowns overwhelmed my petite frame. I needed to revise my idea of the perfect dress to find the perfect dress for me (and my budget).

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

In the end, I found my dress on a sale rack at Anthropologie — not their wedding brand, BHLDN, but the everyday line. Wrinkled and dirty along the hem, the dress looked as if it might have been on the floor. "But with a good clean and some alterations," I thought, "it was just the look I was going for." The price? $83.

The importance of splurging when appropriate

Like many couples, the months between our engagement and our nuptials were consumed by wedding budget-related logistics. I wasted countless hours (and at least a couple hundred dollars) on DIY failures.

One thing that kept me sane? Allowing myself to splurge every now and then. Rather than obsess about finding a less expensive option for our aisle, I rented a vintage rug from a prop company ($250). It saved time and energy — plus, it looked incredible.

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

By far, our biggest splurge was our wedding night suite. I wanted a space for me to get ready in, and my husband-to-be and I needed somewhere to come back to when the wedding was over (that didn’t smell like our two dogs).

We reserved a king-size room at the Bowery Hotel ($910 for two nights), which was less expensive than a suite, and crossed our fingers we’d be blessed with an upgrade. (We were.)

The necessity of going with the flow

All my married friends warned me to expect the unexpected, but nothing could have prepared me for the moment the weatherman predicted a literal hurricane on our wedding day, which is unheard of in New York City.

The day before the event, the garden canceled our contract, fearing high wind. Fortunately, the restaurant volunteered to host the ceremony for free, and the hotel offered us use of their event space for photos.

We didn’t let ourselves get bent out of shape. As luck would have it, the morning of our wedding, we awoke to clear blue skies.

A Wedding That Cost Me Less than $10,000

Admittedly, my feelings throughout the planning process were complicated. The morning before, as I picked out my bouquet from the farmers market, I bought an extra hundred dollars’ worth of roses — just because. I worried I’d regret not breaking the bank on every little detail.

But when I look back at pictures from my wedding day, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Big Little Lies Fans Will Love Renée Zellweger's New (& First!) TV Gig

Following a six-year hiatus from acting that began in 2010, Renée Zellweger returned to the big screen in 2016 with films like The Whole Truth and Bridget Jones’s Baby. And while we’re pretty pumped for her upcoming Judy Garland biopic, we’re arguably even more excited for the just-announced next phase of her comeback: a TV series

Zellweger has signed on to star in a new drama series from Netflix titled What/If. It will mark Zellweger’s first time on the small screen (other than voice work) since her one-episode stint on Rebel Highway in 1994 —  so, essentially, the new gig will be her first major TV role.

More: You Need to Watch This Clip From Renée Zellweger & Greg Kinnear's New Movie

Per a press release from the streaming giant, the social thriller “explores the ripple effects of what happens when acceptable people start doing unacceptable things”

And, happily for fans of Zellweger, it would seem Netflix has high hopes for the series. According to the release, each season of What/If — suggesting they foresee there being more than one — will focus on “a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life.”

Zellweger will star as Anne. The anthology series will also follow broke newlyweds who “weigh a lucrative but ethically dicy offer from a powerful woman,” says Vulture. It’s unclear at this point whether Zellweger’s Anne is a newlywed or the mysterious woman of power.

More: Renée Zellweger Completely Transformed for Her New Movie Role

Hmm, sounds intriguing, no? And doesn’t it also sound a bit familiar? What/If, although it will undoubtedly be unique, sounds like a shoo-in for fans of Big Little Lies.

Consider the first season of the HBO series. Each of the series’ leading ladies — Madeline (Reese Witherspoon), Celeste (Nicole Kidman), Jane (Shailene Woodley) and Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz) — deals with the ripple effect caused by acceptable people doing unacceptable things. And the season one series finale was a study in how a single fateful decision might change the trajectory of an entire life... or the trajectory of many lives.

With Academy Award winner Zellweger starring in What/If, it could easily turn into a runaway hit in the vein of Big Little Lies. We already know an audience for this type of drama exists — plus, like Lies' Witherspoon, Kidman, and Streep, Zellweger will be bringing one of Hollywood's favorite film stars to the small screen.

More: We Know More About Meryl Streep's Role in Big Little Lies, & It's So Good

Regardless, we know at least one person from Big Little Lies will be cheering for the success of the series. Zellweger’s real-life bestie, Witherspoon. In Sept. 2016, when Zellweger made her big screen return with Bridget Jones’s Baby, the Big Little Lies’ star-slash-producer gushed about the film and her friend.

“Always [love] seeing my friend #ReneeZellweger and her return to one of my favorite characters! Bridget Jones’s Baby was so fun. Did y’all see it??” Witherspoon wrote.

But in addition to having Witherspoon’s likely support, What/If has another ace in the hole. Mike Kelley will act as the writer/showrunner. The talented writer-producer-director created the cult favorites Revenge, Swingtown and Jericho, and also served as a writer on such popular series as The O.C. and One Tree Hill.

It’s official — we can’t wait to watch. It’s good to have you back, Zellweger.

Wait, Are Winona Ryder & Keanu Reeves Really Married?

$

What the world needs right now is a new power couple to love, and we vote for Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves. Are they together romantically? Nope. But are they possibly also married? That’s the latest scoop according to Ryder — in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Stranger Things star confessed that she and Reeves may have accidentally gotten hitched back in the ‘90s.

We’ll give that a minute to sink in.

So, here’s what we know about this blessed pseudo-union. In 1992, Ryder and Reeves co-starred in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, as you may remember. When the subject of marriage came up during a press interview with EW for the pair’s upcoming rom-com, Destination Wedding, Ryder flashed back to a very specific memory from the set of the costars’ early ‘90s gothic endeavor.

More: Winona Ryder Admits Being a Pop Culture Icon Again Is 'So Overwhelming'

“We actually got married in Dracula,” she told EW. “No, I swear to god I think we’re married in real life.”

The onscreen marriage is easy enough to mentally fact-check and confirm for anyone who’s seen the movie. Still, Ryder’s statement necessitated more information — which she readily offered. “In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola, director] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married,” Ryder elaborated.

In his trademark laidback style, Reeves laughed and joked to Ryder, “It’s lovely to see you again.” But Ryder wasn’t letting the pair’s purported nuptials go that easily, reminding her repeat costar that they actually said “I do.” When Reeves didn’t immediately recollect that detail, Ryder prodded, “Don’t you remember that? It was on Valentine’s Day.”

At this point, Reeves gave every ‘90s kid the happy ending we deserve by acquiescing. “Oh my gosh, we’re married,” he said to Ryder. Praise be the Romanian priest responsible for this delightful revelation!

In real life, Ryder has reportedly been dating fashion designer Scott Mackinlay Hahn since 2011, while Reeves isn’t currently romantically linked to anyone.

So, we might not get a legitimate Ryder-Reeves wedding (outside of Romania). However, we do get to catch the pair together again onscreen in Destination Wedding, out Aug. 31.

More: ThisStranger ThingsStar Finally Agreed to Officiate a Fan's Wedding

In the rom-com, Ryder and Reeves play characters on their way to a destination wedding who realize neither one really wants to go. Despite their individual social awkwardness, pessimism and general dislike of each other, the duo begins to fall in love as the weekend progresses.

And although Reeves didn’t quite remember the costars’ Romanian vows, he’s quick to point out that they do make a pretty great team.

“Winona is a lovely person and a talented actress,” he told People earlier this year. “I think we make a good couple, and I liked that it’s a two-hander. To them, nobody else matters anyway, right? We did something like five eight-minute scenes, which you don’t often get a chance to do in films.”

It’s been an unfathomably difficult few years for Michael Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato. In 2016, their then-3-year-old son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer, throwing the couple’s world into a tailspin. But with Noah now in remission, Bublé says the experience has made his marriage to Lopilato even stronger

In an interview with Australia’s Stellar Magazine that aired on Saturday, the crooner exclaimed of his son's remission, “Food never tasted so good, music never sounded so good, my relationship with my family… all of it.”

Bublé points out that getting through the ordeal often times proved overwhelming, and he questioned whether he could even continue in his career. As he tells it, he underwent an unprecedented shift in priorities.

“I truly thought I would never go back [to music]. I was done. It just seemed completely unimportant compared to what was going on with Noah. Things got very clear for me, very quickly,” he said, adding, “I live with no fear now. I’ve been to hell.”

Or, to be more precise, they — Bublé and Lopilato — have been to hell and back, and they’ve come out on the other side even stronger. “My wife and I, we got happy, we fell in love again,” he shared, divulging that the entire ordeal meant they saw “the very worst and also the best of each other.”

As for little Noah, the grateful dad says his son is “perfect” following his bout with cancer.

“Clinically speaking, it was a tumor within the liver,” he said. “And the most important thing was to get it out, with clean margins. Because if you do, it goes from being this scary thing to just being tremendous odds.” Those odds, he elaborated, were good enough for the family to “not live in fear every day.”

“We know we’re OK now. But what we went through was f***ing brutal,” he explained, apologizing for the (understandable) profanity.

Happily, the family can breathe easier for now. And considering Noah — whom Bublé calls his “hero” — has a little brother, 2 1/2 -year-old Elias, and a brand-new baby sister, Vida, we imagine the proud parents can use all the extra steam they can get.

Anthony Bourdain's Life & Legacy Will Be Honored in a New Documentary

When the 12th and final season of CNN's Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown airs this fall, it will look different from previous seasons for one key reason: Chef and author Anthony Bourdain will be present in the episodes, but won't be narrating them. Instead, his various guests will take on that responsibility, as a means of paying their respects to the late Bourdain's memory. And next year, CNN plans to release a feature-length documentary on Bourdain, which is sure to be even more emotional.

Vanity Fair reports that CNN is collaborating with Bourdain's production company, Zero Point Zero, for the documentary, which is currently in preproduction. It will likely be released in 2019 and follow a similar path as the CNN documentary RBG (which showcases Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's life). It will air at festivals, then in theaters, then on CNN itself.

"As well as we knew Tony, because he did reveal himself in the series, there was still a hunger to know more about him, and to honor his work and celebrate him. The documentary format became one of the more obvious ways to go,” said CNN executive vice president for talent and content Amy Entelis told Vanity Fair.

Because the project is currently in its early stages, Vanity Fair reports that other details are scant. It would seem that CNN is eager to honor the memory of this globetrotting, life-changing chef, whose suicide in June prompted a massive outpouring of grief from people all over the world. When fans discovered that Parts Unknown was set to leave Netflix on June 16, just eight days after Bourdain's death, they begged the streaming giant to keep the series on longer. Luckily, Netflix listened, according to Entertainment Weekly: the company tweeted an announcement on June 12 promising that Parts Unknown would be available for "months to come."

People aren't just tuning into Bourdain's TV work as they grapple with this loss, however. Following his death, book sales skyrocketed, per The Hollywood Reporter, with Kitchen Confidential — the book that blasted Bourdain to celebrity status in 2000 — landing at No. 1 on the Amazon top-sellers list.

With this hunger to know more about Bourdain and to connect with his work in a new way that honors his memory, it's important that CNN get their planned documentary right. Per Vanity Fair, Entelis said, “We just want to make it perfect. We want to make it exquisite for Tony. We want to do him justice.”

Summer may almost be over, but Burger King wants to keep it hot, hot, hot. Added to their menu for a limited time are two new, spicy sandwiches: the jalapeño King sandwich and the spicy crispy jalapeño chicken sandwich.

More: McDonald's Is Testing Out a New Sweet & Savory Breakfast Sandwich

Burger King kept the launch pretty low-key, with no official press release, but the items can be found on their menu online. They're both described as having a layer of spicy jalapeños, a slice of pepper jack cheese and a smattering of creamy green chili aioli.

Spicy Crispy Jalapeño Chicken Sandwich

The spicy crispy jalapeño chicken sandwich is made with 100 percent white meat and breaded with bold flavors and "just the right amount of heat," topped off with thick-cut smoked bacon.

Jalapeño King Sandwich

The jalapeño King sandwich, on the other hand, is a stack of two grilled beef patties, totaling more than a half-pound of beef. Be warned, though: This sandwich clocks in at nearly 1,000 calories (990 to be exact), so you might want to hold off on eating this until your cheat day. The chicken sandwich has 760 calories.

Worried the sandwiches won't be hot enough? Rest assured, they apparently are. One YouTuber immediately began coughing after one bite. "But it's very fresh," he adds. "The pepper jack cheese makes it even spicier."

This isn't the first time Burger King toyed around with jalapeño-flavored items, though. In 2016, the chain tested jalapeño chicken fries, a spicy twist on their original chicken fries. If these two new sandwiches become popular enough, maybe we'll see the jalapeño chicken fries return.

Heather Locklear Gives the World an Interesting Life Update

Heather Locklear has had a long, difficult 2018. Locklear was arrested in February following an apparent domestic dispute then again in June after she allegedly assaulted a police officer and an EMT after her mother called emergency services because Locklear was "erratic." She was later rushed to the hospital after an apparent overdose, and in July, at the urging of her family, Locklear checked herself into rehab. However, her first Instagram post in four months doesn't dive into any of that.

More: Heather Locklear Reportedly Hospitalized for Psychiatric Evaluation

Instead, Locklear's first Instagram post after all this legal and medical drama is a photo of her Maltese wearing round sunglasses. She captioned it, "Sun shining day." While we can't assume that this is a sign of things settling down for the star, we can hope the caption points to a much brighter, better future.

Fans commented on Locklear's post showing their support. One person wrote, "Heather - hang in....everyone is rallying behind you! I have enjoyed so many of your shows and movies. I wish you health, healing and peace. Believe in yourself and b [sic] strong. You are a huge talent and you are worthy of everything, including love and respect."

Another added, "Prayers go out to you, I’ve only been sober 60 days. This one day at s [sic] time is not easy. I understand what you are going through. If I could help you in anyway please reach out to me."

Others commented directly on Locklear's adorable dog. One person wrote, "I'm so glad you have this special friend by ur side." And someone else said, "Too cute! He needs his own Instagram page," complete with a dog emoji.

According to ET, a source said that prior to returning to rehab in July, Locklear had "isolated herself from most of her friends." They added, "[Her friends and family] are all worried sick."

Social media has become a minefield for celebrities, especially after highly publicized events like Locklear's troubles this year. It's sort of refreshing to see someone not directly addressing things on their Instagram feed, though of course, we can't help but wonder if there's subtext to this otherwise super-adorable dog photo. Whether Locklear intended the photo and its caption to represent how things are going now versus earlier in the year, we hope her situation has improved.

How Music Helped One Woman Cope With an MS Diagnosis at 23

Sponsored by LEMTRADA / Sanofi Genzyme.

Six months into their marriage, Megan and her husband, Corey, were finally finding their footing in the whirlwind that is post-grad and newlywed life. They had just graduated from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, where they played in the band together; Megan the flute and Corey the clarinet. They had found jobs in music and a place to live, and they were ready to start this exciting new chapter of their lives together.

Then Megan, 23 years old at the time, began to develop a vision problem. On their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple, a doctor diagnosed Megan with relapsing multiple sclerosis (RMS).

Adjusting to the diagnosis

"It was a lot to take on, and I am so glad that Corey came into my life when he did because he no doubt helped me deal with something so serious at a young age," Megan said. "What 23-year-old really worries about their health? Not many."

Issues with vision are among the most common symptoms reported in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) – other symptoms may include, but are not limited to, fatigue, numbness, stiffness and cognitive changes — according to the National MS Society. During college, Megan experienced what she described as "awkward sensory issues," like her arm falling asleep.

"I didn't know at the time, being young, that it is just not necessarily normal when your arm feels asleep for a week," she said. "I didn't have that life experience of realizing that is not OK."

When it comes to MS, women are affected two to three times more than men, and most are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, according to the National MS Society.

Valentine’s Day now holds a different meaning for Megan and Corey. Following Megan's diagnosis, she had to adjust to differences in her day-to-day life from what she had come to know as normal.

"All of a sudden, in a way, your norm changes," Megan said. "You're kind of stuck in this life you thought you had with the stuff you thought you knew, because that is still there and every single day is still very consistent. But then at the same time you're struggling with this idea of 'I'm being told something different' or 'I’m experiencing something different.' And you start to ask yourself, 'How do I all of a sudden start to bridge my two realities or build off the reality that I know?'"

Finding an outlet in music

For Megan, the only way to go was forward. She had to take action in order to build that bridge between her two realities and to feel grounded in her life again, but she also had to find solace in the people and things she loved most.

Like Corey, music came into Megan’s life at the perfect moment. When she was 9 years old, Megan decided she wanted to take up piano, but on the day that was supposed to be her first lesson, her dad died of cancer.

"We knew that this day would come eventually, but it was still difficult. Music came into my life at exactly the right time, and I started taking lessons once things settled down. Since then piano — music, period — has become my time to work through things."

"When I am creating music, no one is looking at me with pity," Megan said. "My hour every day that I am sitting there playing is my time. From a very early age, I started to understand the value of having something you can use to express yourself."

Megan's journey with music helped her learn and understand the power of hard work, perseverance and resilience.

And so, years later, when she was faced with her diagnosis of RMS, Megan turned to music as a way to cope, while also taking action to try to help manage the disease.

Treating RMS

"The worst action is inaction. I’ve always lived with that," Megan said. "That is why I made sure early on in my RMS journey to bring together the right care team for my disease."

"Over the years, I’ve developed an honest and trusting relationship with my neurologist, so when he mentioned LEMTRADA® during one of my appointments, I wanted to hear more." After weighing the potential risks and benefits, Megan and Corey decided together that LEMTRADA was an appropriate treatment choice for Megan. However, she recommends "people bring all options and all knowledge to the table when speaking with their neurologist," and, ultimately, choose what is right for them.

"RMS is unique to each individual," she said. "But it is important for everyone to be proactive with their care and their care team, like I was, and seek answers to any questions that they might have about the disease. There are many different helpful resources available to those living with this disease."

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and other leading advocacy organizations provide a variety of services and online resources for people living with RMS. People can also look to websites such as the LEMTRADA Voices of Determination blog for perspectives from others living with RMS.

Living with the disease today

Megan and Corey recently bought a new house and are raising their daughter, Brennan. Music continues to be a staple in their life together — in fact, Megan has been at her current job as a band director for nearly 12 years.

"Despite living with this disease, I realized that life goes on," she said. "You may change jobs, you may buy houses and buy cars and you may have kids. But no matter what, I am constantly reminding myself that I am more than this disease."

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

LEMTRADA can cause serious side effects including:

Serious autoimmune problems: Some people receiving LEMTRADA develop a condition where the immune cells in your body attack other cells or organs in the body (autoimmunity), which can be serious and may cause death. Serious autoimmune problems may include:

  • Immune thrombocytopenia, which is when reduced platelet counts in your blood cause severe bleeding that, if not treated, may cause life-threatening problems. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms: easy bruising; bleeding from a cut that is hard to stop; heavier menstrual periods than normal; bleeding from your gums or nose that is new or takes longer than usual to stop; small, scattered spots on your skin that are red, pink, or purple
  • Kidney problems called anti-glomerular basement membrane disease, which can, if untreated, lead to severe kidney damage, kidney failure that needs dialysis, a kidney transplant, or death. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms: blood in the urine (red or tea-colored urine); swelling of legs or feet; coughing up blood

It is important for you to have blood and urine tests before you receive, while you are receiving and every month, for 4 years or longer, after you receive your last LEMTRADA infusion.

Serious infusion reactions: LEMTRADA can cause serious infusion reactions that may cause death. Serious infusion reactions may happen while you receive, or up to 24 hours or longer after you receive LEMTRADA.

  • You will receive your infusion at a healthcare facility with equipment and staff trained to manage infusion reactions, including serious allergic reactions, and urgent heart or breathing problems. You will be watched while you receive, and for 2 hours or longer after you receive, LEMTRADA. If a serious infusion reaction happens while you are receiving LEMTRADA, your infusion may be stopped.

Tell your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms of a serious infusion reaction during the infusion, and after you have left the healthcare facility:

  • swelling in your mouth or throat
  • trouble breathing
  • weakness
  • fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat
  • chest pain
  • rash

To lower your chances of getting a serious infusion reaction, your healthcare provider will give you a medicine called corticosteroids before your first 3 infusions of a treatment course. You may also be given other medicines before or after the infusion to try to reduce your chances of having these reactions or to treat them after they happen.

Certain cancers: Receiving LEMTRADA may increase your chance of getting some kinds of cancers, including thyroid cancer, skin cancer (melanoma), and blood cancers called lymphoproliferative disorders and lymphoma. Call your healthcare provider if you have the following symptoms that may be a sign of thyroid cancer:

  • new lump
  • swelling in your neck
  • pain in front of neck
  • hoarseness or other voice changes that do not go away
  • trouble swallowing or breathing
  • cough that is not caused by a cold

Have your skin checked before you start receiving LEMTRADA and each year while you are receiving treatment to monitor for symptoms of skin cancer.

Because of risks of autoimmunity, infusion reactions, and some kinds of cancers, LEMTRADA is only available through a restricted program called the LEMTRADA Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) Program.

Do not receive LEMTRADA if you are infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

Thyroid problems: Some patients taking LEMTRADA may get an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) or an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism). Call your healthcare provider if you have any of these symptoms:

  • excessive sweating
  • unexplained weight loss
  • eye swelling
  • nervousness
  • fast heartbeat
  • unexplained weight gain
  • feeling cold
  • worsening tiredness
  • constipation

Low blood counts (cytopenias): LEMTRADA may cause a decrease in some types of blood cells. Some people with these low blood counts have increased infections. Call your doctor right away if you have symptoms of cytopenias such as:

  • weakness
  • chest pain
  • yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes (jaundice)
  • dark urine
  • fast heartbeat

Serious infections: LEMTRADA may cause you to have a serious infection while you receive and after receiving a course of treatment. Serious infections may include:

  • Herpes viral infections. Some people taking LEMTRADA have an increased chance of getting herpes viral infections. Take any medicines as prescribed by your healthcare provider to reduce your chances of getting these infections.
  • Tuberculosis. Your healthcare provider should check you for tuberculosis before you receive LEMTRADA.
  • Hepatitis. People who are at high risk of, or are carriers of, hepatitis B (HBV) or hepatitis C (HCV) may be at risk of irreversible liver damage.
  • Listeria. People who receive LEMTRADA have an increased chance of getting a bacterial infection called listeria, which can lead to significant complications or death. Avoid foods that may be a source of listeria or make sure foods that may contain listeria are heated well.

These are not all the possible infections that could happen while on LEMTRADA. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have symptoms of a serious infection such as fever or swollen glands. Talk to your healthcare provider before you get vaccinations after receiving LEMTRADA. Certain vaccinations may increase your chances of getting infections.

Inflammation of the gallbladder without gallstones (acalculous cholecystitis):

LEMTRADA may increase your chance of getting inflammation of the gallbladder without gallstones, a serious medical condition that can be life-threatening. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have any of the following symptoms:

  • stomach pain or discomfort
  • fever
  • nausea or vomiting

Swelling of lung tissue (pneumonitis): Some people have had swelling of the lung tissue while receiving LEMTRADA. Call your healthcare provider right away if you have the following symptoms:

  • shortness of breath

  • are taking a medicine called Campath® (alemtuzumab)
  • have bleeding, thyroid, or kidney problems

  • have received a live vaccine in the past 6 weeks before receiving LEMTRADA or plan to receive any live vaccines. Ask your healthcare provider if you are not sure if your vaccine is a live vaccine
  • are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. LEMTRADA may harm your unborn baby. You should use birth control while receiving LEMTRADA and for 4 months after your course of treatment
  • are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. You and your healthcare provider should decide if you should receive LEMTRADA or breastfeed. You should not do both.

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. LEMTRADA and other medicines may affect each other, causing side effects. Especially tell your healthcare provider if you take medicines that increase your chance of getting infections, including medicines used to treat cancer or to control your immune system.

Kelly Ripa Is Still Battling Rude, Body-Shaming Trolls on Instagram

Social media opens women up to a world of harassment — literally from all over the globe — but it seems like some people go out of their way to leave hate on certain celebrity Instagram accounts. Kelly Ripa's commenters in particular can't seem to resist the nasty urge to criticize her appearance (or her work ethic) every time she posts, but luckily, Ripa doesn't resist the urge to clap back.

More: Kelly Ripa Shamed for Wearing a Bikini Because She's Too Old, & We Can't

On Friday, Ripa shared a "double flashback Friday" post with side-by-side photos of herself and her husband, Mark Consuelos, in 1995 and 2009. She wrote, "before I discovered that I needed a stylist and had a GOOD side," along with the eyeballs emoji.

Consuelos made a joke about his own 1995 style in the comments: "Belt, jeans, hiked up high.. sweater tucked in??? Lord have mercy.... and I know I looked in the mirror that night and said 'yeah. You look awesome dude.'"

Ripa replied, "@instasuelos babe that was the style then. To look our absolute worst was all the rage (you were and are still the sexist man I have ever seen)."

However, some commenters took the opportunity to accuse Ripa of getting plastic surgery done in the 14 years between the two photos. Several people said it looked like she had a nose job and veneers, with one person commenting, "Thank god for plastic surgery!"

Ripa had no time for the negative comments. She wrote back, "I'm gonna tell you right now. No nose job, and no veneers. I wouldn't be sleeping in a retainer every night if I had. You guys do know how to make a girl feel special."

Further down in the comments, Consuelos also defended his wife, adding, "I can attest.. Same nose. No veneers.." In a second comment, he wrote, "and fierce retainer."

Ripa replied, "Thanks honey, I'll wear it for you tonight."

We appreciate that these two are able to keep their humor even when people are being especially nasty. From what we can see, Ripa, Consuelos, and their three children are living their best lives. So, who really cares about internet trolls?

This Mom Turned Her Daughter's Food Allergies Into an Incredible Business

Denise Woodard enjoys a healthy, active and on-the-go lifestyle. Her fast-paced daily routine often means grabbing some healthy premade snacks as she runs out the door. When her daughter, Vivienne, started eating solid foods, that all changed.

Vivienne is now 3 years old, but when she first started eating solid foods, it became clear that she had several food allergies. The on-the-go lifestyle Woodard and her family had become accustomed to came to a screeching halt because Woodard could no longer run into a grocery store, grab some snacks off the store shelves for Vivienne and hit the road. Instead, she left the stores feeling frustrated that there were no safe and healthy options available for her family. "It was so frustrating because when I would find one of the few things she could eat, she either did not like the taste or I was not happy with the nutritional profile," Woodard tells SheKnows.

More: Every Woman Needs to Watch These Super-Empowering Ads

But from that frustration, a business idea was born. "I was literally in my living room in June 2016, talking to our nanny, and she was asking 'Why doesn't Vivienne ever eat anything fun?', and I reiterated the dilemma I was faced with at the store and I just didn't have the time/energy to continuously make fun snacks from scratch, and she asked, 'Why don't you just start a company?'"

That's when Partake Foods was born. "We went on to win a pitch competition — The Start Something Challenge — a few weeks later just based on our idea, and that gave me the confidence to turn my idea into a reality," Woodard says.

More: Brooklyn Decker Tells Us Why She Became a Tech Entrepreneur

That wasn't the only competition Woodard has won. Woodard and Partake Foods recently won The Pitch competition at SheKnows Media's #BlogHer18 Creators Summit in New York. The Pitch spotlights up-and-coming female visionaries, giving them the chance to explain their business ideas to a panel of judges. After a hardball Q&A session, the audience votes, and the winner takes home a prize of $50,000 and a dinner with business mentors. Woodard pitched her company to the audience, and later that afternoon, Jessica Alba and SheKnows Media CEO Samantha Skey announced that Woodard was the winner of the grand prize.

More: We're Giving One of These Female Entrepreneurs $50,000

Partake Foods currently produces three flavors of mini-cookies that are free of the top eight most common food allergens. They are vegan, gluten-free and delicious, but developing recipes that are safe, healthy and taste good wasn't an easy process. "I knew I wanted a product that was made with whole or ancient grain flours, included fruits/veggies and had less sugar than existing options, so it was quite difficult," Woodard tells SheKnows.

"I initially worked on the formulas myself, but we ended up bringing in a food scientist, who also has food allergies, and we got really creative using dried plum concentrate to help sweeten, rosemary extract as a natural preservative and figuring out how to get those fruits and veggies in," Woodard says.

Partake Foods is now available at Amazon, Wegmans and a bunch of health food stores across the country — a pretty impressive feat. But like most female entrepreneurs, Woodard quickly learned that starting a company is much more difficult for women than men. "I thought that with my background — I worked in venturing and emerging brands at Coca-Cola, building and selling entrepreneurial brands and am a food allergy mom — starting a company focused on allergy-friendly products, our team and traction, we would be an 'easy' sell, but I can't count how many times I've been asked questions like, 'Well, who will take care of your daughter if you're busy with this?' Woodard tells SheKnows.

"Luckily, I haven't let this deter me," she continues. "It's forced us to grow a financially stable, sustainable business, which I'm proud of."

As for the future of Partake Foods? Woodard has big plans. "We're working diligently to grow distribution of our existing products, but my bigger brand vision is that we will innovate across multiple categories, providing meal or snack options for every part of the day that are delicious, nutritious and allergy-friendly. Our mission is to provide peace of mind to those with dietary restrictions and simple enjoyment to those without, and my hope is that Partake Foods becomes synonymous with bringing people together through yummy, healthy meals and snacks that everyone can enjoy."

Alec Baldwin Is Being an Awkward Instagram Dad Again

Reasons public social media accounts can be awkward: Parents can see them and leave comments on posts too. Alec Baldwin and his daughter, Ireland Baldwin, have had a famously fraught relationship, though they're apparently on much better terms now that she's an adult. However, that doesn't stop him from leaving awkward comments on her racier Instagram photos.

More: Alec Baldwin Reacts to His Daughter’s Naked PETA Ad

When Ireland shared a photo of herself wearing a black bikini and cowboy boots straddling a motorcycle to her Instagram recently, she captioned it, "stay extra." Then, as the Instagram feed @commentsbycelebs later reported when they posted Ireland's photo alongside Baldwin's comment, the veteran actor apparently left what may be the finger-wagging version of a comment on the photo, writing, "No. Just...no."

Some fans came at Baldwin for the comment, reading it as controlling. One person wrote, "patriarchal and misogynist much? he doesn’t own her and she can do whatever she wants."

Another added, "Sometimes Dads are wrong. You're beautiful. Enjoy it. Celebrate it. Own it."

According to Entertainment Tonight's report on this awkward moment, this banter between father and daughter is part of a long history they have of lightly roasting one another. In 2017, Ireland famously and publicly got to poke fun at her father when she participated in the Spike TV special One Night Only: Alec Baldwin.

During the roast, Ireland said, "I’m here to roast this big old ham I call my father. Speaking of pigs, some of you may remember me as that thoughtless little pig you read about. That was a decade ago, and my dad and I are in a much better place now. He would never say something like that — because I’m 6-foot-2 and I would kick his ass."

More: Alec Baldwin Compares His 4-Year-Old Daughter to Oprah — Here's Why

This isn't the first time Baldwin has commented on his daughter's modeling photos with an awkward comment. When she posed naked for PETA earlier this year, he shared the photo on his own feed with the succinct caption "O...M...G..." He may be awkward — and he may have an awkward history with his oldest daughter — but we're pretty sure these comments are meant in jest.

Do not mess with Thor, especially when it comes to his kids

Chris Hemsworth — who portrays Thor on the big screen — lit up the cover of GQ for the September issue. In the issue, he spoke about ditching Hollywood's paparazzi scene for the surf-happy shores of Australia back in 2014 with longtime love Elsa Pataky and their children.

"Both trips we did, it was like pouring rain. And [Elsa] was like, 'I don't know what the big fuss is.' Then I said, 'Let's do a trip up to Byron Bay,' and we get off the plane and it's raining. I'm like, 'Oh, my God. I'm not selling it,'" Hemsworth told GQ. "And she instantly went, 'No, there's something different about this place. It is a very special place.' She went, 'This could be it. It could be the best decision we've made.'"

Occasionally, Pataky and Hemsworth post pics of their kids — but the actors do not show their children's faces. However, Hemsworth recognizes that this is indeed the era of social media — and he admits he's not always sure how to proceed with that, especially when it comes to his kids.

Hemsworth told GQ, "The social media side of it is just trying to work out: How do you keep up with the times?' You see that Sylvester Stallone has an Instagram account, and you kind of go, 'This is the world we're in.'"

Taika Waititi, the director of Thor: Ragnarok, admires the way Hemsworth and Pataky are handling social media as it applies to their kids. Waititi said, "In the few and rare times that he does, it's genuine. It's, 'Here's this amazing moment when my daughter was surfing!'" (Cue delight from Hemsworth's 20 million followers on Instagram.)

But Hemsworth won't be selling any of his family time, thanks much. "The exploitation is something I'm very wary of," he said. "We've been offered things like, 'Advertise such-and-such and have dinner with your family.' There's no way."

Paparazzi obsession has lessened with the family's move to Australia but hasn't disappeared altogether. Just recently, paparazzi hounded the family and kept shooting when one of Hemsworth's sons took off his bathing suit. Bad move, paps.

"He's naked, and I look over, and they're still shooting. I ran over, and they knew. I just very pointedly and definitely said, 'Don't you dare,'" Hemsworth said. "I was close to destroying the camera." With his Thor hammer, naturally.

Family is everything to Hemsworth, and while he enjoys making movies, he says he feels more content, more "relaxed and open about it."

But he's competitive when it comes to being the best dad — especially if there's a chance to impress his daughter. Recently, Hemsworth competed in a fathers race (those poor other dads had no chance) and won first prize (big shocker there).

"There was just this wave of nirvana. I turn around, and I go, 'Where's my daughter? Where is she?' And she's like, 'Dad, did you win?' And I'm like, 'Did I win? You didn't see it?!' They gave me a sticker. A first-place sticker," he says.

Pataky missed the race but found Hemsworth's excitement hilarious. "I've never seen him so excited, not even about getting a big job. It was probably one of the best things that has happened to him in his life, which is funny, right?" Pataky laughed. "All the things he has achieved?"

Can you imagine having Thor participate in a daddy race at your school? Dang. That's pretty fabulous — even if we'll never get to see a photo of it.
