Singer Michael Bublé and his Argentine-born wife, Luisana Lopilato, announced on Thursday that they're expecting a bouncing baby boy!

MichaelBubleboy

Are you keeping score with the number of celebrity babies due in Hollywood, and who's having a boy and who's having a girl? Well, add Michael Bublé to your scorecard. He and his wife, model and actress Luisana Lopilato, announced to the New York Post's Page Six that they're having a boy.

The singer shared, "We are so excited. We have just come from the hospital, and the sonogram was pretty clear, it's a boy! We are thrilled."

It was an interesting day for the Argentine-born model who went to the doctor with her husband after the Vatican revealed the new pope was from her country.

The Grammy-winning singer told the Post, “She said, ‘It is a sign!’ But there’s no way we are going to call him Frank, even if it did work well for Frank Sinatra.”

The bundle of joy is due in August and he'll be the first child for the couple. The duo met in 2008 at an industry party in Buenos Aires. The couple became engaged in November 2009 after he proposed in front of her family, and were married in March 2011.

Bublé and his wife have shared much of their relationship with their fans. The 37-year-old's hit "Haven't Met You Yet" was written for Lopilato and she even appears in the music video. The couple also shared their baby news on the actress' official YouTube page in January.

The text in the video read, "Mike, Lu and . . . mini Buble!" The text in the clip read, "We're having a baby Buble!"

It's officially a baby blue Bublé!

Kristen Bell's best: Why we're stoked to see Veronica Mars

$
0
0
With over 20,000 fans having already donated their hard-earned dollars to the tune of nearly $2 million, the dream of a Veronica Mars movie can’t be far from reality. Hey, we’re all for anything starring Kristen Bell! We cherry-picked a few of our other favorite roles from the CW series’ leading lady.

Veronica Mars actress Kristen Bell

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

In our humble opinion, this is Kristen’s funniest movie to date. And how could it not be? The plot is thick with hilarity. As TV star Sarah Marshall, Kristen bails on her TV-music composer boyfriend, Peter Bretter — a stellar Jason Segel — for some R & R with her rock-star lover, Aldous Snow — played by the ever-comical Russell Brand. Lo and behold, the exes end up vacationing at the same resort! From Mila Kunis flipping her s*** on an old flame to the exes trying to outsex each other, the movie induces the kind of laughter that leaves you with side stitches.

When in Rome

Playing an unlucky-at-love art curator, Kristen Bell guarded her heart as Beth in 2010’s When in Rome. It may seem far-fetched that the gorgeous actress would ever have trouble with men, but she seemed completely believable as a women who’d been burned in the past . Part of what made her so gosh-darn likable in this romcom was her chemistry with her co-stars — or, in this case, love-struck suitors — played by Josh Duhamel, Will Arnett, Danny DeVito, Jon Heder and a hilariously narcissistic Dax Shepard, to whom Kristen is now engaged and expecting a little bambino with in real life!

Gossip Girl

Okay, so you don’t actually get to really see Kristen in Gossip Girl until the final episode. But — and this is important — the series would not have been the same without her. Why? Because Kristen gave voice to the show’s snarky namesake, of course! She set the tone at the start of each episode with her trademark line — “And who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell! You know you love me. XOXO, Gossip Girl.” Kristen may not have been a major player on-screen, but she brought the show’s most important character to life in our imaginations, which probably kept us from guessing all those years that the real gossipmonger was none other than Lonely Boy.

You Again

Don’t like the girl your brother's dating? She’s probably not that bad. If you need perspective, simply refer to Kristen’s character, Marni, in You Again. Marni struggled to survive high school at the hands of a merciless head-cheerleader bully — one who Marni later discovers is about to marry her older bro! Painfully awkward at times, Kristen is endearing as a self-conscious, blemish-ridden, bad-bangs-stylin’ reverted version of her high-school self. Not to mention, the ensemble cast is killer: Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver, Odette Yustman, Betty White, Victor Garber and Kristin Chenoweth nail their respective roles. I mean, c'mon... any movie with Betty White is comic gold, right?

DIY bohemian boots

If you’re bored with your old boots, you can give them a new lease on life by adding pretty lace, leftover fabric and beads for a cute and unique look to suit your personality.

DIY bohemian boots

Instead of investing in a new pair of shoes, recycling is more fun and good for the environment too. The boots can be decorated in a few quick and easy steps with materials you already own.

Supplies:

  • A pair of ankle boots
  • Fabric of your choice
  • A strong clear glue, preferably an epoxy or Araldite-based glue
  • Two belts
  • Leather string
  • Feathers
  • Chain, jump rings and small pendants

Instructions:

1
  • Cut two long strips of cotton and lace. These need to be long enough to go all the way around the boot.
  • Your cotton strip needs to be thinner than your lace.
  • Pin your fabric around your boot and cut the excess fabric off.
  • Do the same with your lace.

DIY bohemian boots

2

Sew each of your long strips of fabric together to form a round loop, and repeat this step with the lace.

DIY bohemian boots

3

Arrange your lace and cotton around your boot. Once this is done, you can add a small amount of glue to the inside of your fabric to attach it to the boot. Only use a very small amount of glue to avoid having it seep through your fabric.

DIY bohemian boots

4

Stuff your boot with some tissue paper or fabric . This needs to be done before you attach your belts to ensure your belts are not too tight in order for your feet to slip into the boots comfortably.

DIY bohemian boots

5

This step is optional. I chose to decorate my boots with chain and feather pendants as well as feathers and beads attached to leather string . Attach your belts to your boots and carefully add glue to the inside of your belts once they are positioned on your boot. Do not use too much glue . Allow them to dry for 48 hours.

DIY bohemian boots

6

Add your chain and feathers to your boots, and voila, you have a unique pair of boots.

Lena Dunham reveals herself to Playboy

$

Millennial feminist Lena Dunham sat down with Playboy magazine for their April 20Q column and it's annoying, refreshing and ironic.

Lena Dunham chats with Playboy for their April 20Q.Lena Dunham and Playboy. Not exactly a predictable combination but then again, fortune-telling is always a difficult practice.

Playboy nabbed Dunham for a fascinating interview that delves into the mind of the young creator of HBO's Girls in a way that's just as annoying as it is refreshing. It's a very conflicted spot.

Top 8 moments from this week's Girls>>

While the interview is captivating in the familiar way that Dunham dissects her perspective on what's wrong with Hollywood, the irony of her chatting with Playboy is somehow lost. And of course, she tells Playboy how she doesn't aim to match the sultry, oversexed version of beauty they — and others like them — feature each month.

Lena Dunham represent herself very well but it's the idea that she represents a generation of women that is bothersome. A generation that seems to exclude experiences outside of the liberal, middle-to-upper class educated environment. If Girls is Dunham's tribute to just her own experiences, that's fine. Many women, the author of this article included, can identify with HBO's hit show. Dunham just needs to take ownership that Girls and her world view is narrow.

Lena Dunham finally addresses the N-word issue>>

Asks Playboy, "How do you want Girls to contribute to the ongoing conversation about feminism?" To which Lena Dunham responds in a typical Hannah Horvath way:

"On Girls I like being a mouthpiece for the issues I think young females face today. It's always shocking when people question whether it's a feminist show. How could a show about women exploring women not be? Feminism isn't a dirty word. It's not like we're a deranged group who think women should take over the planet, raise our young on our own, and eliminate men from the picture. Feminism is about women having all the rights that men have."

An open letter to Lena Dunham about Girls>>

And don't think for a minute — if you ever did — that Lena Dunham craves that enviable Victoria's Secret body. Hey, it's society's standards of beauty that make those VS models enviable anyway. Dunham's not fooled.

"I don't think I'd like it very much," she says of the thought of her magically waking up with the body of a Victoria's Secret model. "There would be all kinds of challenges to deal with that I don't have to deal with now. I don't want to go through life wondering if people are talking to me because I have a big rack."

Point taken, Lena.

You can read the full interview with Lena Dunham in Playboy's April issue which is available in print on Friday.

In a pickle: How to save a burnt cake

Burning a cake, unfortunately, is bound to happen to us all at some point. Whether we didn't hear the timer go off or our oven baked it way quicker than the recommended time, our cake is burnt.
Unhappy woman with burned cake

Burning a cake, unfortunately, is bound to happen to us all at some point. Whether we didn't hear the timer go off or our oven baked it way quicker than the recommended time, our cake is burnt.

What to do with
burnt cake

I hate to admit this, but this happened to me just last week. Had it been a box cake, I wouldn't have been too disappointed, but unfortunately it was a cake I had made from scratch. To make matters worse, I don't even own a mixer — meaning I spent a good hour mixing and combining all the ingredients by hand only to wind up with a dark brown crust surrounding my creation. Luckily, I didn't throw it out and was actually able to salvage it. That's right — there are ways you can save a burnt cake if disaster were ever to strike your scrumptious dessert.

Remove the burnt edges

Tip: Covering the cake in this delicious buttercream frosting will hide any remnants of a burnt taste.

If you accidentally burned the outer edges of your cake, you can carefully cut them off with a knife. Make sure to trim the bottom of the cake, as well, since that area will be affected the most. Though your cake will be smaller, once it's covered in frosting no one will know what happened. As long as the cake isn't burned throughout, it should taste just fine once the burnt areas have been removed. To make frosting easier, place the cake in the freezer for about 30 minutes.

Add butter

Sometimes if a cake is overcooked it won't necessarily "burn," but will come out extremely dry. Dry cakes can be covered in frosting to help moisten them, but an even better trick is to spread melted butter on top of the cake before frosting it. The butter will melt into the cake giving it a moister, less crumbly texture.

Make a trifle

If you removed all the burnt edges and the cake is just way too small, break up the remaining, non-burnt pieces and make a trifle instead. We like simple trifles — start with one layer of cake crumbles, then one layer of your choice of pudding, then one layer of fruit. Repeat three times and top with homemade whipped cream!

Check out this vanilla berry trifle recipe>>

Tips for not burning your cake

  • Always set the timer! We sometimes think it's not necessary but with hectic lives and children, timers are always necessary.
  • Use an oven thermometer to make sure your oven doesn't get too hot. Most ovens vary about 25 degrees higher or lower than the temperature you set.
  • Halfway through baking, cover with aluminum foil to prevent the top from burning.
  • Check the cake regularly. We recommend setting the timer for 10 minutes less than the cake requires so you can check it. It could very well be done and had you left in it for the full amount of time, it could have burned.

Charlie Sheen's Twitter rant about daughter being bullied

Charlie Sheen takes to Twitter yet again to rant and rave about his daughter's former school and how she was a victim of bullying.

CharlieSheenrant

Charlie Sheen is making Twitter headlines again for his rant against his daughter's former school after she was a victim of bullying. His choice of retaliation? Well, let's just say it's a little juvenile.

Sheen tweeted on Wednesday night, "If you have a rotten egg, a roll of toilet paper or some dog s**t, I urge you to deliver it with 'extreme prejudice' to the campus run by trolls and charlatans. Make me proud."

He continued with, "And if you're feeling the 'show and tell' of it all, smear the s**t to spell one name on the front door: VICTORIA."

According to TMZ, Victoria is reportedly the name of the student who was victimizing his 9-year-old daughter, Sam. The challenging part to this story, outside of the threatening rant, is the fact that this event happened back in 2012. Sam has not been enrolled in the Viewpoint School since May of last year.

The bully supposedly teased Sheen and Denise Richards' daughter about everything from her hair, her looks and her father's ousting from Two and a Half Men. Even though Sam's family intervened three times in meetings with school officials, the issue was never resolved.

Charlie Sheen helps Lindsay Lohan again>>

Apparently Victoria's parents believed their daughter and accused Sam of lying about the teasing. Sheen and Richards pulled their daughter out of school in March and she officially withdrew as a student in May.

It's unknown why the Anger Management actor chose to air his family's dirty laundry months later, but the Viewpoint School responded to the Sheen threats on their Facebook page.

The school wrote, "Viewpoint School’s highest priority is the safety, security and education of our students."

The official statement goes on to address the bullying issue. "The parent of a former Viewpoint School student who has not attended Viewpoint School since March, 2012 has made certain accusations in the media. Viewpoint School first became aware of these accusations last year. Our administrators addressed the issue appropriately at that time."

Charlie Sheen asks suspected L.A. killer to call him>>

While school officials did say, "Our School takes accusations of bullying very seriously," they failed to address what steps they took to ensure Sam's safety and well-being. It's clear that Sheen felt they didn't take the proper measures.

TMZ is reporting that the school is taking no risks and that extra security has been called in to protect the students from any potential harm and the media onslaught.

Viewpoint School is located in Calabasas, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, where tuition fees for the current school year total over $26,000.

Plateaued?
No personality? Please!

This week on The Face, it's Karolina to the rescue when Naomi brings up, a few times, Margaux's modeling experience. But in the end, it's Naomi's team that ends up losing another model.

Margaux Brooke on The Face

Tonight’s episode starts with Jocelyn mentioning my eight years of modeling experience and that I have “plateaued” and have “no personality.” Do I sense a theme arising? While I have been modeling for eight years on and off, I've also been going to school full-time. Modeling is my job, and I’ve been signed to professional agencies, including Elite and Wilhelmina, my entire adult career. I’ve been humble about the fact that I'm just another model among the hundreds of thousands out there, and that’s why I came on this competition — to learn from the best.

This week is no different and starts with a test shoot, judged by Naomi Campbell. The theme is “chemistry,” and Naomi demonstrates her skills in a Christian Louboutin ad with none other than Amar’e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks. It was steamy, if I do say so myself. I’ve worked with male models before, but it’s only ever been cutesy, like "let’s go on a mini golf date" type stuff. I was a little nervous for sure. I gave it my best, but it wasn’t good enough for Naomi. I personally thought Devyn did a really good job, and I have to hand it to my girl Stephanie — she killed that test shoot. I was so proud to call her my teammate; she had all of our jaws on the floor after her little performance with Kyle, the male model.

Sandra chose a more “intimate” approach and actually kissed Kyle on the neck, which sent Naomi into complete hysterics to the point of the whole thing becoming uncomfortable to watch. I actually felt bad for Sandra. Sandra took Naomi’s reaction personally and talked back to her mentor and eventually walked off the set. While Sandra’s reaction was understandable, Naomi was right: she needs thicker skin. There are clients out there that will react similarly to Naomi and she has to learn to just brush that stuff off and keep working. In the end, Stephanie wins — congrats, girl. I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was jealous — I’ve always wanted a pair of Christian Louboutins!

Up next: The campaign and elimination >>

{pageBreak}

Plateaued? No personality? Please!

This week on The Face, it's Karolina to the rescue when Naomi brings up, a few times, Margaux's modeling experience. But in the end, it's Naomi's team that ends up losing another model.

Margaux Brooke on The Face

Next was the campaign. Each team had to create a short video sharing a product for Open Sky. Team Coco chose a blazer. We were limited to products around the loft, and since Stephanie and I both like fashion, why not? Team Naomi picked a beanbag. I personally thought that was strange, but I guess models are supposed to be able to sell “anything.” Lastly, Team Karolina picked palm aid, a product both Ebony and Devyn use every day on themselves and their children. Smart.

"I’ve got the looks; I know I’m not the books, so I need this."

Team Karolina went first and did an amazing job — they were engaging and real. I liked their video a lot. We went second, and I'll admit: I stumbled — a lot. I get really nervous whenever I have a speaking role for any job, but I always push through it, and in the end, we got a good take. Stephanie did amazing. I definitely learned a thing or two from her in this challenge. Naomi’s team went last, and I felt theirs was the most scripted of the bunch, but each team got through their individual videos, so it was hard to say who was going to win. In the end, Team Karolina wins, and it was well-deserved. I was very happy for them all.

Margaux Brooke on The Face

Coming up to elimination, I knew I was going to be nominated. Stephanie did a better job than I did, plain and simple. Coco made the fair choice sending me in there. Naomi sent Sandra for her bad attitude, also a fair choice. When Sandra and I were in front of Karolina, she asked why each of us should stay. Sandra said, “I’ve got the looks; I know I’m not the books, so I need this,” as if models are only pretty and not smart. I personally took offense to that, and I’m sure Karolina did, too. Karolina then asked why I should stay and I said because I am hardworking and professional. Karolina then followed my answer up with, “So you believe Sandra is not?” I answered honestly and said, “No, I do not think Sandra has been professional.” In the end, Karolina kept me over Sandra. I think she also made the fair decision. Thank you, Karolina.

When I walk back into the loft, Naomi immediately says to her team, “Now Karolina’s team is going to lose, watch.” I’m flattered Naomi sees me as such a threat, but if I win The Face, Naomi’s team would lose too, just to clarify. She made the idea of her team losing seem impossible. Well, Team Karolina just proved that theory wrong. Naomi calls Karolina an idiot and goes on about how I am the competition while simultaneously bringing up my eight years of modeling experience and that I “should have been somebody by now.” All I can say is that she was liking my eight years of experience when she wanted me on her team; I guess I made the right choice picking Team Coco. Karolina stands up for me, mentioning that I was in school the entire time I was modeling. Again, thank you Karolina. All of Karolina’s efforts are futile as Naomi once again walks off the set, saying, “Save it, save it, save it.”

Tune in to see what happens next Tuesday on The Face at 9/8c, only on Oxygen!

Lindsay Lohan's trial begins on Monday

It looks like Lindsay Lohan has run out of time. Her trial for her involvement in a June 2012 car crash begins on Monday.

Lindsay Lohan

Thursday was a tough day to be Lindsay Lohan. Not only was she criticized by pop superstar Justin Bieber on Instagram, but a last-ditch effort to keep the starlet out of jail has failed. Her long-awaited trial for her involvement and alleged lying about a June 2012 car crash is set to begin on March 18.

Lohan was offered a plea deal that would have kept her out of the slammer in exchange for 90 days at a locked rehab facility. It's been reported that Lohan was adamant about not taking a plea deal because she felt she was innocent of any charges.

TMZ is now suggesting that prosecutors have reached the end of the road with the actress and they are ready to move forward with the trial. All plea negotiations have been terminated.

Her new lawyer, Mark Heller, who replaced her longtime attorney Shawn Chapman Holley, has not had an easy time since taking over the case. He is not a member of the California bar, so he has been schooled by the presiding judge over failing to study specific California state procedures that apply to this case.

Earlier in the month, Judge James Dabney told Heller, "Somebody needs to come to assist you who has some experience in California law or procedure or Miss Lohan is going to have to come in here to waive her right to have attorneys who are competent in California law and procedure to go forward."

Charlie Sheen helps Lindsay Lohan again>>

Even the Liz & Dick star's estranged father, Michael Lohan, has tried to intervene. TMZ discovered that Lindsay's dad was trying to bring a California attorney onto the case. David Wohl is reportedly helping Heller behind the scenes, but Wohl has not been approved by the troubled actress.

Michael has asked this new lawyer to appear at the start of the trial on Monday. It will be interesting to see how this plays out — and whether Lohan manages to avoid jail this time around.

It's a slippery slope, and the actress just might have run out of chances.

Rihanna will wear Givenchy on tour

Rihanna has enlisted an haute couture heavyweight to create her new stage costumes.

Rihanna

Rihanna is known for her sexy outfit choices, but she might be showing off a goth side during her upcoming tour. The "Diamonds" singer enlisted couture design house Givenchy to design the stage outfits for her upcoming tour.

"Rihanna represents what young and amazing means today. She is punk and talented. She offers intelligence, energy, and pure beauty," Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci said in a statement. "She is the face of her generation."

Among the designs? A floor-length, ruffled, silk crepe cape embellished with three-dimensional collar embroidery and a parka featuring silver stars and a target on the back.

Interesting.

Then again, we wouldn't expect anything less from the 25-year-old thong enthusiast. RiRi is known for her eclectic style — and now her fans are dressing like her, thanks to her collaboration with British clothing brand River Island.

The "designs" — including questionable denim-on-denim and assymetrical pieces — are selling out on the River Island website.

And she'll have more soon. Co-designers Adam Selman and Mel Ottenberg said they're planning another collection with RiRi's help.

"We all have the same idea of what 'chic' is at the moment, as much as I hate that word," Selman recently told Elle. "It is more about the woman and the ease and beauty. A woman [should] wear a dress as opposed to the dress wearing her."

"It is very collaborative," Selman's partner, Mel Ottenberg, added. "But she has great style, and she is not a mass-produced creation of me."

Wonder if she'll partner with Givenchy for a ready-to-wear collection anytime soon? Somehow we doubt her average fan would be able to afford those ensembles.

Zooey Deschanel loves the thrift shop!

It's probably not surprising that quirky actress Zooey Deschanel loves scouring the thrift shop for deals. Still, we love her for it!

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel might have millions now, thanks to her successful movie career and hilarious role on FOX's New Girl, but she's still a thrifty girl at heart. The Los Angeles native told InStyle in a new cover interview that women can be just as fashionable in secondhand finds as they can in couture dresses.

"Style isn't when you buy yourself the most expensive things. It's being creative and able to put together what you've collected," she told the magazine, adding that she learned that while struggling to make it in her career. "I didn't have a lot of money, so I got things for, like $2, $3, and made myself look as good as I could. Limitations make you more creative."

Totally agree with that.

Also, swoon. We love it when celebrities — including Kate Middleton— show off a good deal. The pregnant duchess recently delighted fans when she stopped at a London Top Shop to buy a $55 maternity dress from Lovestruck.

"It's so exciting that the Duchess of Cambridge bought one of my designs," Lovestruck designer Erika Shaw told US Weekly in early March. "I think it's great that Kate wears high street brands."

The Sessions actress Helen Hunt even shops at H&M — she wore a creation from the retailer to the 2013 Academy Awards. Unfortunately, that dress — reportedly worth about $650 — won't be sold in stores.

Not all hope is lost, though! The Swedish clothing retailer later told the New York Times that it's planning a "red carpet collection" for release sometime later this year.

"This is a way for us to show we can do so many more things than what we have in our stores," Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design, told the Times of the collaboration with Hunt.

Stylish and affordable? We'll take that over stylish and expensive any day!

"I love you guys. You are all SO spectacular. I am speechless, " the mom-to-be, seen here in full bloom in late January, tweeted to fans as it became clear that throngs of people want to make a Veronica Mars movie just as much as she does.

Dax Shepard, due to become a father nearly any day now, also shared his gratitude, writing, "To everyone who helped my most beautiful, nerdy angel today, THANK YOU!!!"

Chelsea Clinton's apartment: A $10M pad to call home

Chelsea Clinton's new apartment isn't far from her old home location-wise, but she and husband Marc Mezvinsky have plunked down a pretty penny for the upgrade! Find out what $10.5 million will get a couple in Manhattan.

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky

Chelsea Clinton's new apartment is making the $4 million place she and husband Marc Mezvinsky have been calling home look like a bargain. After spying the new 5,000-square-foot property while out for a stroll, the pair have agreed to fork over $10.5 million to call it their own!

The New York Post reports Chelsea Clinton and her husband of nearly three years signed on the dotted line for the living space upgrade last month. The apartment, which has been completely renovated and updated, was originally built in 1924.

Vogue gets personal: Chelsea Clinton on love and politics>>

The Clinton-Mezvinsky part of the five-story building boasts four bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a home office and a den. It also has a planting terrace, in case Chelsea's got a green thumb, and a private storage unit.

The building, located in Manhattan’s Flatiron district, also boasts high-end amenities, including a full-time doorman, private gym and refrigerated package room.

Curious about the monthly cost of such a place? The U.K. Daily Mail did a little math and reported the monthly mortgage bill will be just above $57,000, if you assume they put down 10 percent. Their previous home, just across the street from the new digs, was worth $4 million — which would run roughly $18,000 a month.

Fancy-schmancy living certainly isn't cheap!

Chelsea Clinton headlines first National Day of Service >>

Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky tied the knot in 2010. Last summer she told Vogue the time for children hasn't yet arrived.

"Marc and I are both working really hard right now, but I think in a couple of years, hopefully... literally, God willing," the 32-year-old shared, noting her mother, Hillary Clinton, wouldn't mind some grandbabies sooner than that. She added, "I hope my mom can wait that long."

The Big Bang Theory actors talk about the show's success

The Big Bang Theory is one of the most successful shows on TV, but it wasn't always that way. So what changed it from a fledgling show to one that tens of millions of people watch each week?

Simon HelbergThe Big Bang Theory has only existed since 2007, but that has been enough time to shoot the show to the top of the ratings. The actors showed up to PaleyFest this year, where their show appeared four years ago, and talked about why they think it has become so successful.

American Idol vs. The Big Bang Theory: Has Idol met its match? >>

It seems like it all boils down to one thing: syndication. The fact that the show is now in reruns has helped the show's visibility. TBS debuted the show in syndication in 2011.

"You're kind of forced to watch the show now," actor Simon Helberg, who plays Howard Wolowitz on the show, joked to Michael Lennox with the Associated Press. "We're shoving it down people's throats, and then they're learning that they love that."

The Big Bang Theory's Mayim Bialik teams up with Texas Instruments >>

The show is centered around four scientist friends and their neighbor who is hoping to become an actress. Actor Jim Parsons plays physicist Sheldon Cooper, a bit of an eccentric genius. But in real life, Parsons has a hard time understanding the success of the show.

"There's something impossible to fathom about viewers and numbers and things like that," Parsons said. "I can barely picture 20 people in one room. If you want to say 17 or 18 million, well, you've lost me."

The Big Bang Theory likely has a long future ahead, but at least one of the actors has already started to think about how the show might end.

"Well I think [Howard's] pants will probably be as skinny and probably a bit tighter," Helberg told Lennox. "I think that Sheldon will probably still be sitting in his spot. It may be in a different apartment. I think he'll sit in that spot until he's in a home. Howard and Bernadette probably will... God, God help them if they have children. We know she hates them and we know that Howard, essentially, is a child. So I wish them luck."

The Guardians of the Galaxy roster is growing. Marvel's upcoming superhero team just landed another star. Wrestler-turned-actor Dave Bautista has joined the cast of the blockbuster.

Dave Bautista

Marvel Studios has cast its second lead for Guardians of the Galaxy. The film's only confirmed star was Chris Pratt , but now he's got a partner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, WWE wrestler and mixed martial artist Dave Bautista has signed on. The beefy actor will play the role of Drax the Destroyer.

Bautista had stiff competition for the part. Aside from Isaiah Mustafa and Patrick Wade, Game of Thrones' Jason Momoa was gunning for the role. Momoa was rumored to be Marvel's top choice, but a deal never came to fruition.

The Avengers 2 is officially on! Sequel date revealed>>

Guardians of the Galaxy is part of Phase 2 in Marvel's Cinematic Universe, a film franchise and shared fictional universe. During its run, the films will cover more fantastical stories. Guardians of the Galaxy is a space-centric property with lots of aliens and foreign creatures.

Marvel Studios preparing a "Strange" Phase 3>>

According to the film's synopsis, "Galaxy centers on Peter Quill/Star-Lord , a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants."

Bautista's Drax the Destroyer is a superhuman warrior set on killing Thanos. If you saw The Avengers , Thanos was the villain who briefly appeared during the end credits.

We have two Guardians down with three more to go. The rest of the team includes Groot, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon. Those roles have yet to be cast.

Guardians of the Galaxy will be directed by James Gunn and hits theaters Aug. 1, 2014.

Struggling Smash moves to Saturdays

NBC is moving the struggling musical drama to Saturday nights. Is it an attempt to save the show or part of a plan to slowly watch it die?

Ivy and Karen on Smash

Bad news for fans of musical dramas who also like to spend their Saturday nights away from the TV. Apparently, our beloved Smash has been suffering in the ratings in its Tuesday night time slot, despite the powerhouse voices of Katharine McPhee and Megan Hilty. Instead of getting rid of the musical drama altogether, NBC has opted to move the Broadway-themed show to the less coveted Saturday night lineup.

Smash takes you backstage >>

Taking its place on Tuesdays will be the new reality competition show Ready for Love, brought to us by former Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria. It starts Tuesday, April 9. Reality and competition shows are still bringing in the major ratings, so Ready for Love will be aired along massive hit The Voice.

Eva Longoria's new series hits airwaves April 9 >>

Unfortunately for committed Smash fans, the series hasn't been able to hold its audience's attention. People in the most desired demographic, those ages 18 to 49, are barely watching the show... and neither is the rest of America. The last episode had only 2.9 million viewers. That sounds like a lot, but it's nothing when it comes to network television.

Fan favorites reunite on Smash! >>

At this point, it's hard to imagine that NBC will bring Smash back next season, as Saturday night seems like a place for shows to go to die. Aren't people at the bars, on dates, enjoying sleepovers or going to the movies then? Only time with tell if the struggling show will survive it's new scheduling debacle.

Will you stay faithful and watch Smash on it's new night? Tell us in the comments!

Pretty Little Liars: Has Spencer really gone to the dark side?

Executive producer Oliver Goldstick offers some insight into Spencer's sudden switch alliance with Mona and what happens next.

Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars fans were baffled and probably felt betrayed by Spencer Hastings' actions in the latest episode. Not only did she seem to join the A-team by pairing up with Mona, but she went as far as kidnapping Malcolm to break up Aria and Ezra!

But were her actions part of a bigger plan? Does she have a devious agenda? Is this part of a well-calculated scheme to outsmart Mona, or has she simply given in to the inevitable? Oh the lingering questions each episode leaves us with!

Is Spencer really the enemy? Check out last episode's recap!>>

Recently, PLL's executive producer, Oliver Goldstick, attempted to offer some insight into the never-ending mystery without giving too much away.

On the topic of Spencer's sudden switch to the enemy's side, he offered this response: "You should be asking what is behind that... Is this something she needs to do to reconnect and to find out there's any chance that Toby could still be alive? If you saw the closer, chances are he's not."

Troian Bellisario's great fashion  >>

Sure, the chances are he's not. But PLL has certainly found a way to trick us a time or two before. No doubt many of us are still holding out hope — just like Spencer.

And what about the kidnapping? That seems like an extreme first move for Spencer. Could she really turn her back on her friends so drastically and quickly?

Oliver said, "This is the ultimate sacrifice, that's she's willing to go undercover and do something dark. That was sort of the idea of kidnapping Malcolm, to prove to Mona that she's serious."

Has Spencer finally lost it?>>

We'd all like to believe that Spencer is simply going undercover, but does having a secret agenda justify hurting her friends so deeply? Oliver does promise that we'll get some answers in the finale.

"I don't want to give away too much," Oliver teased, "You're going to find out more next week."

Certainly more answers will only lead to more questions. There's no doubt this show will produce a surprising cliffhanger that will leave us on the edge of our seats until next season!

What's your take? Has Spencer gone to the dark side, or this all part of a bigger plan?

These grilled Greek chicken pitas are fun, interactive and totally delicious! Serve them in foil or wax paper bags to make it feel like they came right from your favorite Greek restaurant or food truck!

Grilled Greek chicken pitas with simple tzatziki sauce sauce

Make these one time, and you'll want to make them at least once a week! Finding a good, quality, pocketless pita bread makes all the difference!

Grilled Greek chicken pitas with simple tzatziki sauce recipe

Yields 4-6 pitas

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 pocketless pita breads
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, diced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise or sour cream
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1/2 cup fresh dill, chopped fine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1 large tomato, seeds and pulp removed and roughly chopped
  • 1 large onion, sliced into thin long strips
  • Jar of Tabasco or other hot sauce on the side

Directions:

  1. Place chicken, olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt in a large zip-closed bag. Move bag all around to coat the chicken well. Allow chicken to marinate at least one-half hour or up to overnight in the refrigerator. Place pita breads in stacks of 3 and then wrap them in aluminum foil.
  2. Heat outdoor grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Spray grill grate or pan with cooking spray and cook the chicken on both sides until lightly charred and fragrant, about 5 minutes per side depending on the thickness of the thighs. Remove chicken from the grill and allow it to rest.
  3. At this point, if you're cooking on an outdoor grill, place your wrapped pita breads on the grill and allow them to heat up about 3-5 minutes per side. If you're cooking indoors, place your wrapped pitas in a preheated 375 degree F oven for about 10 minutes.
  4. Place the remaining cup of yogurt, lemon juice, mayonnaise, cucumber and dill into a medium-sized bowl and mix well. Salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Slice the chicken against the grain and then give it a rough chop and place it on a serving plate. Unwrap warmed pita breads and also place them on a serving plate. Serve buffet style allowing people to place chicken in their own pita bread and then top with the tzatziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and hot sauce if desired.

Emma Watson to star in Fifty Shades of Grey?

Emma Watson, currently riding a wave of buzz due to her role in director Sofia Coppola's glam larceny flick The Bling Ring, may be taking on another big-girl role soon.

Emma Watson at premiere

She shot to fame playing a magical schoolgirl, but Emma Watson is said to be signed on for a decidedly more provocative role: Anastasia Steele, the submissive, seduced college girl who becomes enthralled with dominant, older money-man Christian Grey in the film adaptation of the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey.

It's all hearsay for now: The hacker group Anonymous broke into the servers of Germany's Constantin Films and leaked documents it found there, including one that said Watson is attached to star in Focus Features' Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation.

Anonymous boasted about their break-in on Twitter; the studio confirmed to the Hollywood Reporter that it had been hacked, but said the documents were both out of date and not that private, available to many Constantin worker bees.

Cate Blanchett, evil stepmother>>

Regardless, the rumor that Watson was to play Steele has been widely reported; the Anonymous hack just maybe confirms what we kinda-sorta knew already, even though there have been plenty of other 50 Shades casting rumors, including one that Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale was chasing after the role, and Ryan Gosling as Christian Grey.

USA Today has it that The Vampire Diaries' Ian Somerhalder is the "fan favorite" to play Christian Grey. He appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael Wednesday but wouldn't fess up to any casting decisions. "There are so many young boys up for this role,"USA Today quotes Somerhalder as saying. "I can't say anything other than it's a very interesting story."

Watson was reportedly up for another high-profile role that she just rejected, that of Cinderella in the live-action remake of the Disney classic directed by Kenneth Branagh. She will not be playing Cinderella, with Cate Blanchett as her evil stepmother, more's the pity.
