The Sing-Off renewed for fourth season!

Meet Pentatonix... and prepare for another round of The Sing-Off!

The Sing-Off returns

Ahem! Glee enthusiasts and a cappella singers rejoice: Your favorite reality show/singing competition is finally returning! And soon, too! After a year and a half off the air, NBC has finally decided to renew the almost cult favorite, The Sing-Off.

Nick Lachey talks about The Sing-Off>>

Season 3 featured Nick Lachey as host and Sara Bareilles, Ben Folds and Boyz II Men's Shawn Stockman as judges. While the people who watch the show were excited about and obsessed with it, the third season drew in a less-than-excitable amount of viewership. That's why NBC had a hard time agreeing to bring it back and yet, didn't want to cancel it.

Now, however, seems like a great time to try again. After the blockbuster hit Pitch Perfect took various demographics by storm as it was a kind of mix between a musical and an American Pie-like comedy, it proved people were still interested in the vocal arts. It also helped that the winners from The Sing-Off's most recent season, Pentatonix, saw their debut album break the top 15 on Billboard's Top 200. Sweet!

The Sing-Off's Season 2 winners>>

If you're not sure what, exactly, The Sing-Off is but are intrigued by the references to Glee and Pitch Perfect, here's the breakdown: The Sing-Off is a competition where a cappella groups perform against one another to take home $100,000 and a Sony recording contract. There's just one rule: No instruments except your voice. And if you think that sounds like a bunch of dorky barbershop music, you've got another thing coming! Check out this video from one of last year's performances:

You're curious now, aren't you?

We have no return date just yet, but they'll begin holding auditions on April 27 and will end on May 18. Auditions will be held in New York, Nashville, Chicago and Los Angeles. So if you have a singing group that knows how to get their vocal chords really vibrating, head on over to the audition site. If, like us, you know it's probably best to limit your singing to the shower and the car, just cross your fingers for the new season to start ASAP!

Britney Spears might have a new boyfriend

Spring is in the air and pop star Britney Spears seems to be enjoying a new romance with a regular guy. It might be just what the singer needs for a fresh start.

BritneySpearsnewromance

Is pop star Britney Spears in love again? All of the signs point to yes after she was spotted hanging out with her new beau, David Lucado, this week in Los Angeles. While the pop star has yet to confirm any such romance, she seems to be pretty happy these days.

A source for People saw Spears and Lucado hanging out in an L.A. suburb.

They said, "David drove Britney around and she looked very happy."

Their afternoon adventures included a stop at the Forever Bella tanning salon and a bite to eat at Cisco's Mexican restaurant.

While the couple did not pack on the PDA, the source revealed, "They were not affectionate during lunch, but Britney seemed very giddy."

The romance between the two is relatively new and they were first sighted on the golf course and going out for a friendly Valentine's Day dinner. Lucado is not in the entertainment industry, so that might be a refreshing change for the former X Factor judge.

Her 27-year-old date, who works for a law firm in their field research department, was introduced to the singer through mutual friends. He's been described by family and friends as just a regular guy.

A source told Us Weekly, "He's a good boy. He's from a good family. David grew up on a farm. He does alright. He's into restoring old cars."

Britney Spears: Brunette bombshell!>>

This type of guy might be exactly what Spears needs after ending her engagement to Jason Trawick back in January. The former couple's relationship was strained for some time, so the Grammy winner is enjoying the company of her new beau.

Spears is rumored to be close to a deal for a long-term Las Vegas residency; however, final details have yet to be announced. She was being courted by several casinos, but it appears that Planet Hollywood is the winning bidder.

She's also working on a new album post-X Factor, so it's nice to see the mother of two happy with a new romance and new projects on her plate.

Is Matt Lauer headed to Jeopardy to replace Alex Trebek?

0
0
No one knows what Matt Lauer's future with The TODAY Show holds, but it looks like he'll be just fine. His name is already being discussed in connection with at least one other show.

Matt Lauer

Rumors are again swirling over Matt Lauer’s future with The TODAY Show, and it looks like he may be considering a new job. According to the New York Post, Lauer is currently at the top of the list for possible successors to Alex Trebek on Jeopardy.

Matt Lauer almost resigned when Ann Curry left TODAY>>

Trebek is reportedly expected to step down in 2016, when he is 76 years old.

“Lauer is widely reported to be on his way out at the morning show, which has tumbled to No. 2 in the ratings in the last year,” said Michael Shain with the Post. “He is being blamed for the show’s fall from grace after 16 years on top.”

The Post reported earlier this week on rumors that Lauer is not expected to renew his contract with TODAY when it expires in 2015. The host is currently making $25 million a year.

Alex Trebek jokes about his recent heart attack >>

Trebek has been hosting Jeopardy since 1984, and Sony has reportedly been looking for a new host when the legend plans to retire.

“Trebek — who suffered his second heart attack last summer — said in interviews last year that he was thinking about retiring this season,” said Shain. “But Sony convinced him to sign one final, three-year contract — taking him to age 76 — to give producers enough time to find a next-generation successor.”

Trebek’s shoes will be hard to fill, as he is generally considered the face of the brand. According to the source talking with the New York Post, Anderson Cooper is another name being discussed to replace Trebek.

A bonus for whoever ends up landing the job is that weeks of the game show can be taped in just one day. But according to Shain, the decision on the new host is “at least a year and a half away, and much can happen before then.”

NBC: Matt Lauer isn't going anywhere >>

Until then, Lauer’s future remains a question mark.

Baked Avocado “Fries”

Get ready for an avocado adventure! Too tasty to keep just for sandwiches or as a dip for chips, why not branch out with how you incorporate avocados into your meals?

If you love avocados, then you'll love these three out-of-the-ordinary recipes using this great green delight!

Baked avocado "fries"

Super simple to make, baked avocado "fries" could be the ultimate snack! The crispy-smooth texture is a great combo, and the flavor can't be beat! Enjoy them with salsa or your favorite dip.

Yields 16 "fries"

Ingredients:

  • 2 large avocados, sliced into wedges lengthwise
  • 1-1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, or a bit more to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or a bit more to taste
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Salsa for dipping

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F. Spray the top tray of a broiling pan with the nonstick spray and place it on a baking sheet. Set aside.
  2. Gather three shallow bowls, and add the flour to one, the beaten eggs to another, and the panko breadcrumbs to the third.
  3. Add the salt, pepper and Parmesan cheese to the breadcrumbs and mix to combine.
  4. Place your baking sheet with the tray near your bowls.
  5. Do this for each avocado wedge: First dip a wedge in the flour to coat it, then dredge it in the egg and allow the excess to drip off into the bowl. Finally, coat the wedge in the breadcrumb mixture and place on the tray.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, keeping a watch on the avocados so they don't burn. When they turn golden, remove them from the oven and serve with salsa or another type of dip.

  2. Blend the mixture until it's very smooth and set it aside.
  3. When the linguine has finished cooking, drain it and immediately return it to the hot pan.
  4. Add the avocado mixture to the linguine and toss it well to evenly coat the pasta.
  5. Serve on individual plates and garnish it with the remaining lemon zest and a few avocado cubes.

Jon Cryer: Two and a Half Men scandals were "surreal"

0
0
First Charlie Sheen, then Ashton Kutcher, then even young Angus T. Jones got controversial. Jon Cryer is spilling the beans on what it's like to be part of the craziness that is Two and a Half Men.

Jon Cryer

Jon Cryer is probably the most normal, down-to-earth cast member of Two and a Half Men— so it's no surprise that the crazy controversies caused by his co-stars have left the actor scratching his head.

First there was Charlie Sheen's notorious breakdown and hate campaign against show creator Chuck Lorre. Then Ashton Kutcher took over in a lead role in the midst of his cheating scandal and split from Demi Moore. Finally, the youngest cast member, Angus T. Jones, found himself in hot water after a religious zealot caught him on video proclaiming the show to be "filth."

So what does Jon Cryer, seemingly the only normal one of the bunch, think of all this?

"It is surreal to be part of several internet s**t storms," he told Fox11. "When the latest one happened, Ashton came up to me and he looked like he had seen a ghost and he was like, 'Did you hear about Angus?' and I was like, 'He is OK?' He said, 'Sort of,' and he showed me the video. And as I said, having become a veteran of the internet sh*t storm, afterward I just looked at Ashton and said, 'Well do you think he still wants to go in on the crew gift?' It's just been one after the other."

"My life has taken a lot of strange turns. Mostly I'm just glad everybody is still alive," Cryer said. "It is crazy. I have no explanation for it. You could say the show is cursed except the show has been cursed with being monumentally successful so it's hard to call that a curse. Angus' one was so minor because I wasn't actually worried that any actual harm would come to him and he's already been back to work several times."

"It was strange to be the object of paparazzi," he explained. "That was a part of my life that was never an issue before. If I'm at a press event I'm happy to talk to the cameras. When they wait outside my house, then I get mad."

Controversy and crazy cast-mates aside, Cryer is simply grateful to be part of such a long-running hit.

"It's a great feeling," he said. "You cannot fool yourself into thinking you know why this has happened or that you have any idea how to replicate it because it's never the same. But, absolutely, I am amazed that the show has had such longevity and [I] feel incredibly lucky about it."

What to eat The morning after

Instead of sipping on bloody marys or lying holed up in a dark room, why not do something different to cure your spring break, partied-too-hard hangover? Here are a few unique food-related hangover cures that span the globe. Bottoms up!

To learn more about what to eat to cure a post-spring break hangover, we turned to Douwe Osinga, a travel expert who has been to more than 100 countries and co-founded Triposo, a comprehensive travel app he created with his brother Richard and their friend Jon Tirsen.

First they mined the data from a World Health Organization study of which countries drink the most wine, spirits and beer . They then went through the data and added up the totals for each alcohol category to find out which countries are the heaviest drinkers, and researched the top hangover cures for the morning after. "Some countries have specific foods that they believe help cure hangovers, while others simply specialize in certain cuisines that have properties that help lessen the effects of hangovers," Osinga explains.

Luxembourg

If you happen to be in Luxembourg and have a few too many, you can try their go-to hangover cure: Something called verwurrelt gedanken. "These are in essence small sugar-coated doughnuts," Osinga says. "They're perfect for restoring the sugar that your body has likely lost from a night of heavy drinking," he explains. "It's popular during Carnival, a popular alcohol-fueled celebration in Luxembourg and can be hard to find during the rest of the year."

Austria

Austrians prefer to combat their hangover with a hearty soup. The hangover soup cure of choice is called rindsuppe, a beef soup with a clear, golden color that has excellent rehydrating properties, Osinga tells us. A good place to get it is Restaurant Zum Weissen Rauchfangkehrer in Vienna.

Czech Republic

Like the Austrians, Czechs also believe soups are a particularly comforting way to relieve a hangover. "Czech citizens often use the Eastern European garlic soup to get over their headaches and get on with their day," says Osinga. He says that one of the best place to get it is in Olomouc, at U Andela. "Add some of the local cheese and promise not to kiss anyone."

rollmops
Rollmops

Germany

In Germany, some locals swear by certain types of marinated fish to cure a hangover, Osinga says. These include rollmops , brathering or Scandinavian-influenced heringsalat . "The German seafood chain NordSee can be found in bigger German cities and is quite a good place to get rollmops," he advises.

Denmark

A popular breakfast in Denmark also happens to be an excellent cure for hangovers. Get back on track after a night of drinking with smoked eel on dark rye bread, topped with scrambled eggs, herbs and a slice of lemon, suggests Osinga. If you're ever in Denmark, try it at Ida Davidsen in Copenhagen where he says they have an excellent breakfast buffet.

Lithuania

Lithuania is another country that looks to soup to remedy a hangover. "Raugintu kopustu sriuba is a sauerkraut and boiled cabbage soup popular for relieving hangovers," notes Osinga. "The best place to head with a hangover in Lithuania is Mano Guru run by former drug addicts. Just tea and soup here, no alcohol served."

Ireland

Ireland's hangover cure of choice has spread throughout the world, and you've likely ordered it after a night of drinking. "The Irish breakfast is a well-known and highly effective cure, consisting of sausage, fried egg, bacon, white pudding, black pudding, toast, fried tomato and sometimes mushrooms, baked beans, liver or soda bread, all served with coffee or tea," says Osinga. He suggests having your Irish breakfast at Bewley's Café, a place where Bob Geldof and Bono used to go to.

Guatemala

A hangover here is called "goma" Osinga tells us. "Guatemalans prefer to cure a goma with spicy food," he says. Most often they turn to caldo de pollo, chicken soup with hot peppers in it.

Frequent Flier: Get to know Antigua, Guatemala>>

Bolivia

When they've had too much to drink Bolivians turn to fricasé, a spicy pork stew which is similar to chili. The dish is spicy and yellow in color with garlic and cumin-flavored pork and is typically thickened with crumbled bread, hominy and potato, explains Osinga. The mix of tongue-tickling spice and stomach-coating carbs helps give hangovers the boot.

South Korea

The South Koreans have developed their own version of a "hangover stew" called haejangguk. This dish typically contains beef broth, with cabbage, bean sprouts, radish and egg, Osinga tells us. But there is one more addition to the recipe. "They add one extra-potent ingredient: chunks of congealed ox blood," he says. This one might not be for everyone but Koreans seems to think it works.

Senegal

The Senegalese turn to a type of chicken stew called jassa to cure their hangovers. "Their version involves grilled chicken, onions, lemons and super-hot African chilies," says Osinga. The chilies help you sweat out your post-hangover pains.

Dream Team: A Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock comedy tour?

0

Dave Chappelle is reclusive but the comedian just gave some surprise performances at the famed New York theater, the Comedy Cellar. Chappelle also surprised fans with a hinted-at comedy tour with friend Chris Rock.

Dave Chapelle performs stand-up in a rare appearance.

Fans hoping for a Dave Chappelle return to comedy may just get their wish. Dave Chappelle gave a surprise performance at New York's Comedy Cellar and joked with Chris Rock— who joined Chappelle — that the two should tour together.

Did Chris Rock steal Aziz Ansari's joke?>>

The Los Angeles Times broke the story regarding the prospect of Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock going on a comedy tour together a few days ago. "You should come down to Palm Beach," said Chris Rock to Dave Chappelle.

"After next Tuesday," Chappelle responded, "I'm free for like 11 years." The comment seemed tinged with both humor and honesty so fans are unsure if Dave Chappelle is joking.

Chris Rock didn't seem to think Chappelle was joking. The two discussed availability onstage and said they could possibly tour in October 2013. "This could be the show," said Chappelle to Rock. "Fireside chats with Chris Rock.""I'm in," said Rock.

The Dave Chappelle's connection to Charlie Sheen>>

Dave Chappelle abruptly left his wildly popular Chappelle's Show in 2005. He later revealed to Oprah Winfrey that the constant pressure to balance art and business interests became too problematic. Chappelle also expressed unhappiness with the sketch comedy format of the show and said some of the skits made him feel "socially irresponsible."

When Chappelle appeared in blackface for one of the performances, Dave told Oprah he later felt uncomfortable with the reaction from some of his white employees. "There was good-spirited intuition behind it," said Chappelle to Winfrey. "So then when I'm on the set, and we're finally taping the sketch somebody on the set [who] was white laughed in such a way — I know the difference of people laughing with me and laughing at me — and it was the first time I had ever gotten a laugh I was uncomfortable with. Not just uncomfortable, but like, should I fire this person?"

Chris Rock in hot water over racial Twitter comment>>

However, fans should be skeptical of a Chappelle-Rock comedy tour. "You know how he is," said a friend of Chappelle's to the Los Angeles Times when the paper attempted to reach out for an update. "Dave's just a reclusive dude."

Matt and Kim on filming “It's Alright” and their relationship

SheKnows caught up with indie-pop duo Matt and Kim during their tour stop in Phoenix, Arizona. The couple gave us the dirty details on filming “It's Alright,” performing at Ultra Music Festival, life on the road as a couple and more.

“We're in-between
two worlds"

SheKnows caught up with indie-pop duo Matt and Kim during their tour stop in Phoenix, Arizona. The couple gave us the dirty details on filming “It's Alright,” performing at Ultra Music Festival, life on the road as a couple and more.

Matt and Kim

Known for their infectious onstage energy and quirky music videos, Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino have made a name for themselves as the power couple making waves in the indie, pop and electronic music worlds. Four albums and six years of touring later, they've shared the stage with bands ranging from punk band Against Me! and indie-rock foursome Passion Pit to DJ acts Tiesto and Avicii. Unable to be pigeonholed into one genre, their music ― with hints of hip hop, punk, techno and nearly everything in between ― is, no doubt, gaining popularity.

We caught up with the duo backstage in Phoenix, Arizona, and they dished on everything from their upcoming performance at Ultra Music Festival and their dream lineup to spending every waking moment together on the road.

On Ultra Music Festival and dance parties

SheKnows: You have a lot of exciting shows coming up, including Ultra Music Festival. How does it feel to be on the lineup alongside some of the best electronic dance music acts in the world?

"We're not two people; we're 2,002 people. So we always try to make a lot of light in the rest of the room, and we all feed off each other."

Matt Johnson: Soon, we're going to be in Miami for Ultra Music Festival, which is predominately electronic dance music. It's funny, we keep getting asked, “Are you nervous?” because we're a live band ― live drums, vocals, singing, all that. But, in the end, where we always make sense is wherever the dance party is.

Kim Schifino: Our shows are not shows where people stand or sway; it gets pretty crazy. We do a lot of things in our sets that will cover some hip hop tracks, or stop for a second to have a dance party to a Baauer song. I think it fits really well, and I think it's going to be exciting.

MJ: I always thinks it's funny, one of our first supports ever was with this punk band Against Me! and people would say, “You're too electronic for that; people are going to hate you on that tour!” But it made sense; when people go out, they dance, they mosh, they crowd surf ― that's what a Matt & Kim show is like. It's just funny that we're in-between two worlds, but it doesn't mean we don't fit anywhere. It just means we fit in more places. The only place we don't fit is where people go and stare at their shows to listen to music.

KS: Yeah, a sit-down venue? No way.

On their dream lineup for a festival

SK: Let's turn the tables. If you were creating your own festival, what would your dream lineup be?

KS: Beyoncé, Kanye West and Jay-Z.

MJ: Japanther, Japanther's there; Girl Talk, who's always one of my favorite shows; and Dan Deacon.

KS: That would be a really good festival. We should get on that!

MJ: Coming 2014: Jay-Z, Kanye West, Beyoncé, Japanther, Girl Talk and Dan Deacon.

KS: Can we be on it, too? I want to be on it!

MJ: And Matt and Kim! We're headlining that.

On what makes the Matt and Kim audience so bada**

MJ: Part of what separates the Matt & Kim audience is we really try to make the whole building know that they're all part of the show. People always say, “You're just two people. How do you project so much energy?” And we say we're not two people; we're 2,002 people. So we always try to make a lot of light in the rest of the room, and we all feed off each other."

"Our shows are not shows where people
stand or sway; it gets pretty crazy."

On being in a relationship — on the road

Matt and KimKS: I will say, being in a relationship on the road, we get along great. But for some reason, this last tour, I've been having the craziest dreams where Matt's cheating on me. Or we're broken up but still best friends. It's really weird; I think there's something with the bus.

MJ: I think there's a gas leak in the bedroom. But, it is interesting. There's no separation between the personal life and the professional life. We spend every waking second of every day together. The only times we're apart are during the holidays when we go to our own family's houses.

KS: I would say, out of the year, we're apart five days.

MJ: In any other relationship I would have been in, we would have killed each other, in like disastrous, terrible ways.

KS: This was from the beginning when Matt and I first started dating, we weren't a band; we were doing art projects together, film projects, and we really work well together, and we have similar ideas. We bounce ideas off of each other well. I feel like it would be tough if we were always butting heads, but it'll be like he'll say something, and I would be like, “That's genius!” Or, sometimes he'll say that my ideas are genius, but it's not that often.

On filming the music video for “It's Alright”

SK: And were one of these ideas the bed choreography of “It's Alright”? How did that come about?

KS: Yeah, that's another example of Matt being a genius is the “It's Alright” video. Matt comes up with all of the video ideas — well, most of them.

MJ: We thought we'd learn [the choreography] quick, just a couple two-hour rehearsals. But it was six or seven days of six-hour rehearsals, and then we shot it in one day, which I didn't think would ever work out.

KS: In this video, there's definitely a portion that gets real, and Matt got extremely uncomfortable.

MJ: When she says “gets real,” it's only probably eight seconds of the video, and it was actually my idea to just look up a book of sex moves, and we shot like 30 sexual positions; but by No. 25, and we're there with a 15-person crew, and we're in [positions] like Bumper Cars or Ear Muffs or...

KS: Hey, a lot of that crew got laid that night.

MJ: But I knew we just had to get through it. I'm comfortable with myself, but I was turning a little red.

What's on the horizon for Matt and Kim?

MJ: The touring just doesn't stop. The next six months or so, a lot of festivals we're excited about. I just love that there's the two parts of what we do. We love playing shows and we love touring; and that's what we were based on before we even made an album — we were touring. But once you've been on the road for a long time, you can just sit in one place and make music. It's just such a different way of life. Then, once you've been home, and you're over it and you want to get out there, then you get to travel again. The two sides really balance each other out.

In this toy story, your favorite musclemen and women come to life in a battle to defend their existence against the evil Zartan and win back their dignity in the eyes of their own government.

Move aside Barbie and Ken: These muscle machines are the ultimate in toned physique and taste in music. Ken might want to cover Barbie's eyes with the return of the onscreen stripper we all learned to love in Magic Mike, Channing Tatum. Isn't the saying "If you've got it, flaunt it"? You may remember G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra back in 2009. However, the cast is definitely a little beefier this time around.

With all the testosterone of Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis and more, who really keeps these bad good boys in line? Adrienne Palicki as Lady Jaye rides along with these toys and laughs amusedly at Roadblock quoting Jay-Z. Silly boys. I guess they will still be boys even as grown men. Whether she's laughing at his character or at Dwayne's bad acting, I guess we'll never know.

I know what you might be thinking. Why is Jay-Z not in this film? Well he's been busy charming the crowd alongside Justin Timberlake in his new hit "Suit & Tie." I'm just wondering why they don't make Jay-Z a G.I. Joe so he can rap about "Suit of Armor." Maybe his own music will be featured in the movie? Judging by the film credits, there will definitely be a ton of visual effects and stunts to get you amped up at the gym, whether or not you hear Jay-Z's jams. Just think about looking like a G.I. Joe when you're pumping iron to get ripped.

See the G.I. Joes larger than life in 3D and IMAX 3D starting March 28. It will be huge!

Brooke Burke-Charvet believes there should be no shame in kissing your 20s goodbye. The mother of four insists embracing Mother Nature is the way to go, though she wouldn't mind a tiny bit of help keeping the wrinkles at bay!

Brooke Burke

Brooke Burke-Charvet has made a long career out of looking drop-dead gorgeous. Now that she's over 40, however, her attitude is evolving. Find out how the mother of four, who is now happily cancer-free, is embracing aging with grace!

Speaking to Health magazine for the April 2013 issue, the 41-year-old admitted, "The 40s are a reality check. That's when some people are trying to look 25.

"I would like to slow down my aging process, but I don't want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen! I don't want to fill every flaw in my face."

She added with a laugh, "A few? But you have to embrace Mother Nature a little. I'm a woman. I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four. I don't want to look like a 25-year-old anymore. I want to be my best healthy self."

Brooke Burke-Charvet's scar reveal: No more "scarfing" it up!>>

That doesn't mean super-strict is the only way to go, however.

"If your body is really craving something, you might need it," she pointed out.

As an example of listening to her own body, the happily married Mrs. Charvet explained, "Last night, my mom came over and made homemade meatballs and Bolognese, which is so not on the plan. But I had a couple of meatballs and a little less pasta. Do it in moderation, then get back on track."

Brooke Burke-Charvet dishes the dirt on lingerie and love>>

One last tip — don't skip that workout!

"Pay for that class, buy that DVD, commit with a girlfriend," the super svelte star added.

"As working women and moms, we make it to all our meetings, get our kids to every appointment. But you have to make yourself a priority. Just commit. Write it down. Make a plan. I try to do my workouts early in the day, after I drop my kids off at school, so they're just done. I think if you procrastinate your workout, as evening falls, it's just never gonna happen! Also, I want that energy. I want that adrenaline."

Are you on board with Brooke Burke-Charvet's aging gracefully attitude?

Royal baby name mystery solved? It's a big one!

Is the royal baby name a thing of mystery no more? Rumor has it Kate Middleton and Prince William have decided what their child is to be called, and their multiple selections are full of tribute.

Kate Middleton

If gossip sources are to be believed, the royal baby name has been revealed! Could Kate Middleton and Prince William be naming their daughter Elizabeth Diana Carole Mountbatten-Windsor, as the U.K. National Inquisitor reports?

Claiming to have inside knowledge of the royal baby name, despite no official statement having been made, the newspaper's website reports the moniker is meant to pay tribute to a trio of women the parents-to-be hold in high regard.

What does Kate Middleton call her royal baby bump?>>

Elizabeth, Diana and Carole reportedly honor Prince William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II; his mother, Princess Diana; and Kate's mother, Carole.

Hollywood Life also notes that Carol is the Latin variation of Charles, so William's father  gets some respect as well. Additionally, Kate's mother's middle name is also Elizabeth.

However, many other outlets are reporting no decision has been made yet on the royal baby's name.

Kate Middleton pays for her clothes... Yes, really! >>

"Nobody knows what William and Kate are calling their baby or even if they have decided on a name," a royal source told E! News. "They are being very careful to keep everything to themselves. The duke and duchess are taking their privacy very seriously. They are not speaking to anyone about these private matters."

Adding credibility to the argument that the baby's name is still a secret, it's notable that although a gender reveal is said to have occurred, no official confirmation has been made. Meanwhile, the duchess was forthcoming about her pregnancy and due date when rumors kicked up.

What does your gut say about the supposed royal baby name reveal?

The Following sneak peek: "Love Hurts"

Hooking up with Emma wasn't enough to get Carroll to forget his wife, Claire. His rampage to find her will continue with more killings, as someone is murdering women named Claire.

Carroll and Roderick in The Following

Poor serial killer Emma is in for a world of disappointment.

On last week's episode, she finally got what she'd always wanted: Joe Carroll . And she let those girlish fantasies play out, expecting them to become reality now that she'd slept with him.

Instead, on this week's episode, "Love Hurts," Carroll instensifies his search for his wife, Claire, and puts a stop to anymore "indiscretions" between him and Emma. Who knows what the little murderess will do now? She's visibly hurt by Carroll's rejection. Perhaps her feelings will intensify until she turns on him. You know what they say: Fool me once... And Emma is a smart girl despite her fascination with death.

Missed a few episodes of The Following? Catch up with the recaps>>

Over at the FBI, Mike Weston is still healing from his stab wound, and Ryan Hardy is still obsessed with tracking Carroll and finding Joey.

Carroll calls Hardy and tells him he is willing to go to drastic lengths to find Claire. His first move: Send one of his followers out to kill women named Claire. By the looks of the promo, the follower is a girl who seems a little more than insane. Not that that's unusual for Carroll's followers. But, she says ominously, "Tell Ryan Hardy that love hurts," before seemingly causing havoc at a restaurant.

Judging by the show so far, I bet Carroll will have his moment to face his wife. She definitely won't stay hidden forever. It's only a matter of when.

How The Following lured Kevin Bacon to TV>>

Fox also tells us that followers from the past will make a shocking return in the upcoming episode. Who could it be? My guess is that Jacob and Paul are alive.

"Love Hurts" will air this Monday night on Fox.

Once Upon a Time preview: "Welcome to Storybrooke"

From fairy-tale land to Storybrooke: Find out what happened in the days immediately following the curse.

Once Upon a Time

Here is the official synopsis of the episode from ABC:

"Emma, David and Mr. Gold must protect Mary Margaret against Regina, who is out for revenge and has made it her mission to kill Mary; and Henry, fed up with all of the feuding, devises a plan to put an end to magic. Meanwhile, Regina discovers that a father and son have somehow found their way into her allegedly undetectable town as she and the fairytale characters deal with the effects of the newly cast curse 28 years prior."

Once Upon a Time recap: Who will die?>>

From that, we can see that a lot will be going on in this episode. Now let's take a look at some sneak-peek clips.

In the first sneak-peek video, we find Regina crying over her mother's grave when Mr. Gold comes in to pay his respects to the fallen queen. He claims that though they had their differences, she will always have a place in his heart, though he doesn't deny it when Regina accuses him of killing Cora to save himself. Regina promises Gold that though she may not be able to get to him, thanks to his dagger, she is going to make sure that Mary Margaret dies for her part in Cora's death.

In the second sneak-peek video, we go back in time and see Mary Margaret teaching school when Regina comes in and takes her away. This is obviously very soon after they were all deposited in Storybrooke after the curse, because Regina seems intent on proving that it worked. Sure enough, our resident evil queen looks quite happy to discover that Snow White doesn't remember a life before teaching school or her husband Prince Charming.

ABC planning a crazy Once Upon a Time spinoff>>

In the third sneak-peek video, Gold has arrived at Mary Margaret's door and finds the whole family gathered around as she lies depressed in her bed. David and Emma tell him to get out immediately, but he warns them first that Regina is plotting her revenge. When he can't provide details on what exactly Regina will do to Mary Margaret, David demands that he help them because, not only are they all family now, but Mary Margaret also saved Gold's life and he owes her a debt.

I don't know about you guys, but just seeing these short clips has got me very excited about this episode. I am dying to see what it was like for all of the characters when they were first cursed and landed in Storybrooke.

Once Upon a Time clip: Death comes knocking>>

Which character's story are you looking forward to seeing the most in tonight's episode? How do you think Gold will help Mary Margaret now that he owes her for his life?

Holy Moses! Christian Bale to star in biblical epic?

Will Christian Bale put his scruffy beard to good use? The British actor has his eye on Ridley Scott's Exodus. It's the latest film to tackle the biblical tale of Moses.

Christian Bale

How do you top an Oscar-winning performance in The Fighter and a final bow as the Dark Knight? You reach to the heavens, which is exactly what Christian Bale is said to be doing. The actor is rumored to star in Ridley Scott's new biblical drama.

Christian Bale says bye-bye to Batman>>

According to Deadline, Bale is eyeing the role of Moses in Exodus. Scott and 20th Century Fox are in the early stages of negotiations with Bale as their top choice. The script was originally written by Adam Cooper and Bill Collage, but Steve Zaillian has come on board for rewrites.

We're not sure how much of Moses' story the film will cover. 1956's The Ten Commandments did a pretty good job of illustrating his eventful life.

Actor Charlton Heston, film icon and NRA leader, is dead>>

In the film, the late Charlton Heston played Moses. He was born a slave, became an Egyptian prince and eventually delivered his people from bondage.

Scott plans to hop on the Exodus train as soon as he wraps up his current film. Meanwhile, Bale is working on David O. Russell's drama, The Counselor, alongside Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Louis C.K.

Exodus is just one of two Moses movies in development. The other, from Warner Bros., it's called Gods and Kings. Steven Spielberg was set to direct but has since dropped out. Now the studio's looking at Life of Pi's Ang Lee to take the reins.

Do you think Bale would make a good Moses?

Lil Wayne near death from possible codeine overdose

Lil Wayne is near death from a possible codeine overdose — the rapper is in an induced coma and on life support at a Los Angeles–area hospital.

Lil Wayne December 2012

Lil Wayne is near death. As this story goes to press, Lil Wayne — real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. — was reportedly being read his last rites with his family saying their goodbyes at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California, according to TMZ.

The website reports Lil Wayne is in critical condition after suffering several seizures. He was placed in an induced coma earlier this week after being admitted to the hospital on Tuesday, when he collapsed during the shooting of Nicki Minaj's music video for the song "High School."

Lil Wayne misses deposition due to seizures>>

Sources for TMZ say Lil Wayne might have suffered from a codeine overdose after the rapper went on what's known as a "sizzurp" binge. Lil Wayne's stomach was reportedly pumped three times after "doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system," says TMZ. Codeine is a narcotic used to treat pain and coughs. It can cause dizziness, shortness of breath and lightheadedness and is also classified as an opiate.

Lil Wayne has acknowledged his use of codeine in multiple rap songs, including "We Takin' Over" with the lyrics "I like my Sprite Easter-pink," which refers to mixing cough syrup with a soda like Sprite or Mountain Dew. Lil Wayne also discusses codeine use in "Duffle Bag Boy," in which he raps, "Weed and syrup until I die."

October 2012: Lil Wayne hospitalized in Texas>>

In 2008, MTV said Lil Wayne publicly discussed his use of codeine, explaining to a New Jersey concert audience that "sipping syrup" was cultural.

"I've been criticized for the things I chose and things I've chosen to do," said Lil Wayne at the concert. Although the article does not quote Lil Wayne directly referencing his drug use. MTV went on to say Lil Wayne finds it difficult to stay off codeine.

"Do you history, do your research," said Lil Wayne. "It ain't that easy — feels like death in your stomach when you stop doing that sh**. You gotta learn how to stop, you gotta go through detox..."

In 2012, Lil Wayne was hospitalized in Texas for dehydration and a severe migraine, though some speculated it was actually for a seizure. TMZ later reported that Lil Wayne had reported to a judge that he could not make a scheduled deposition due to suffering from "several seizure-like episodes."

TMZ reports Lil Wayne's mother is currently on a plane to Los Angeles so she can decide whether or not life support should be discontinued.

We wish the best for Lil Wayne and his family during this difficult time.

Update: There are currently conflicting reports as to the condition of Lil Wayne. TMZ stands by its report and says Lil Wayne is stabilizing but his "prognosis is uncertain." TMZ does not specify its sources of information regarding Lil Wayne's condition or his possible overdose.

About an hour ago, Lil Wayne's Twitter account was updated: "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love." CNN reports Mack Maine, the president of Lil Wayne's music label Young Money, tweeted the TMZ report was untrue: "Don't believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe... that's false."

We will update this story as it develops.

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough call it quits

Another celebrity couple has called it quits. In breaking news on Friday, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have decided to go their separate ways after over two years of dating.

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough

In breaking news on Friday, People was the first to report that Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have broken up and are no longer living together. The news comes on the heels of reports earlier this week that Hough had expensive jewelry given to her by the host stolen from her vehicle.

The news was confirmed to the entertainment magazine by friends close to the couple. However, no official statement has come from reps of either celebrity.

The 24-year-old dancer and actress has been dating the multitalented Seacrest for over two years. They quietly began dating in 2010, but they didn't confirm their status until several months into the relationship. Many members of the media were speculating about when they would get married, so the news is shocking most people in the entertainment industry.

Both Seacrest and Hough have been on an upward career trajectory. One can only speculate that their busy schedules played a huge part in the breakup. People's source said that finding time together was a "great challenge," but the duo are still friendly even though they have split up.

Ryan Seacrest shares life lessons from Dick Clark>>

Hough has even commented on the commitment it takes to keep the spark alive.

She told PARADE magazine, "It's a hard thing to do, especially when you're so caught up in your work and bettering yourself. I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what's really important."

The former Dancing with the Stars pro crisscrossed the globe with the recent promotion of her Valentine's Day film, Safe Haven, while the 38-year-old American Idol host was heavily involved in awards show season. The couple was spotted, by this reporter, on Feb. 5 at the premiere of Hough's latest film, and they were hanging out together at the after party.

Julianne Hough reveals shocking childhood abuse>>

Hough has two projects in the can, including the Diablo Cody film Paradise starring Holly Hunter and Russell Brand and Skum Rocks! with Teresa Palmer and Kevin Bacon. Both films are slated to hit the big screen this year.

Seacrest continues to be the busiest man in the entertainment industry with American Idol, projects for E! and Bravo, and his syndicated radio shows.

Love in Hollywood sure isn't easy.

After Earth: Will and Jaden Smith survive together

Will Smith and his son, Jaden, take us on a futuristic journey where Earth and fear are the enemies. After Earth transports us into the future June 7.
Will Smith and Jaden Smith

Fear is
a choice

Will Smith and his son, Jaden, take us on a futuristic journey where Earth and fear are the enemies. After Earth transports us into the future June 7.

Will Smith and Jaden star as father and son once again on the big screen in the soon-to-be-released summer sci-fi adventure After Earth. It was back in 2006 when we were touched by the heart-to-heart moments between their characters, Chris and Christopher, in The Pursuit of Happiness.

In another story of survival, Will's character, Cypher, and Jaden's character, Kitai, are the only survivors of a crash landing on a deserted Earth. Just as Jaden has grown up before our eyes in movies, his character Kitai learns how to be a courageous young man.

A thousand years after humans left Earth, everything has evolved into an effective predator. Cypher and Kitai struggle to survive, battling threatening animals, including large gorilla-like monkeys. Earth is also misbehaving like a teenager, suffering extremes of high and low temperatures, the implication being that global warming is affecting our planet.

However, Kitai learns from his father that the biggest enemy he will face is fear itself. Cypher teaches his son that fear is not real and that it is only a product of thoughts. The only real threat is danger, while fear is a choice. In this clip, we learn how to survive on the same planet that gave us life.

The latest brainchild of M. Night Shyamalan,  After Earth portrays our world as a giant metaphor. Unlike the imagined enemies of Shyamalan's other sci-fi films, evil in this movie is created by humans. We are all afraid of death and losing someone. There are monsters everywhere we go, but our fears are our greatest enemies. Our superhuman power is courage and the ability to trust in the good.

Writers try to send M. Night Shyamalan back to film school>>

Will and Jaden are an adorable heroic team in the survival tales they've acted in. They show us how to stick together and fight as a family in an unstable world. The difference between this movie and The Pursuit of Happiness is that poverty is not the threat to survival here; rather we are our own obstacle.

After Earth lands into theaters and IMAX June 7.

What are your biggest fears? What would it take to face them?

Spring is in the air — and we thought it’d be a good idea to not only spring clean your house, but also your finances. What a perfect time to get your house, money and budget in order, for good!
Woman going over home finances

Spring is in the air — and we thought it’d be a good idea to not only spring clean your house, but also your finances. What a perfect time to get your house, money and budget in order, for good!

Get your money cleaned up

Finances. Money. Budget. Savings. These are all words we cringe at but know they’re essential to our lives. Our finances and money allow us to provide for ourselves and our children, our budget keeps our spending in check and our savings help us prepare for the future. While in the spring cleaning mode , let’s get our finances in order along with our kitchen pantry, hallway closet and guest bathroom. After all, our money situation is way more important than a clean house, so here’s to spring cleaning our finances!

Track spending for one month

Before you can get your finances in order, you need to know where exactly your money is going. We challenge you to keep track of your money coming in versus your money going out for one month. Make a simple Excel spreadsheet, leaving the top 5 rows for incoming money and the rest of the rows for outgoing money. This includes bills, credit card payments, gas, trips to the grocery store, fun money, trips to Starbucks and anything and everything in between. If you spend, record it. It’s as simple as that. No need for anything fancy — just record it.

View the results

Are you spending more than you’re making each month? Or are you making more than you’re spending? Hopefully, you’re making more than you’re spending. If not, some adjustments need to be made. It’s vital to save every month, and it’s possible for every income. Some tips for learning to save money include:

  • Switching to less-expensive cell phone and cable/internet plans
  • Buying generic food and cleaning products when possible
  • Asking credit card companies to lower your interest rates
  • Treat savings as a bill and pay yourself first

Click here for 10 Easy, everyday ways you can save money>>

Look at places you can cut back

Even if you’re saving money each month, it’s important to be aware of how much you’re spending so you can pinpoint any areas in which you could cut back. Let’s face it — we can all cut back. If you spend a lot on work lunches, commit to bringing your lunch once per week. If you find a good chunk of your money is going to hair and nail salons, take out a trip or two per month. Do you go to Starbucks every morning? Downsize your drink or only go three times per week instead of five. The little things do add up — and you’ll sleep better and be happier knowing you’re saving more!

Go through all financial documents and paperwork

box of receipts

This one could take some time, but it goes hand-in-hand with spring cleaning your house. Sort out all of your financial documents — including bills, pay stubs, credit card statements, tax returns, insurance policies, deeds and investment statements. Anything that’s old or no longer necessary, shred. For the remaining documents, purchase a file cabinet or file box to keep everything organized. Now, whenever you need to access an important document, you’ll know just where to go.

Do this every year. Spring cleaning is no longer just about deep-cleaning your home, it’s about getting down and dirty with your finances!

The wait is over. Scary Movie 5 is almost here, and the film's first poster has been released. It features plenty of familiar faces, including returning star Charlie Sheen.

Scary Movie 5

It's been seven years, but the Scary Movie franchise is back. This spring, we'll get a new sequel in the parody series. There's a fresh crop of films to be mocked, and Scary Movie 5's got them covered.

Dimension Films has released its first official poster. It features an array of characters played by Charlie Sheen, Ashley Tisdale, Mike Tyson, Snoop Dogg , Katt Williams and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland.

Trailer: Lohan pokes fun at herself in Scary Movie 5>>

This time around, Scary Movie's poking fun at Guillermo del Toro's Mama, the upcoming Evil Dead, Paranormal Activity and Ted. Yes, Seth MacFarlane's Ted has found its way into a horror film. For some, the idea of a talking bear could be terrifying.

Scary Movie 5: Former Disney star replaces Anna Faris!>>

Noticeably absent from the poster is Lindsay Lohan. It appears that she and Sheen have similar screentime, but she's MIA. To be fair, Sheen did headline Scary Movie 3. Therefore, he already has a connection to the franchise. You also may have noticed that mainstay Anna Faris isn't featured. Maybe she'll make a cameo?

Lindsay Lohan refuses to kiss Charlie Sheen>>

The film centers on a French dance company director named Pierre and his latest production. Jody , a late-20s mother of two, and her late-20s African American friend Kendra are vying for the lead. Jody’s controlling mother is determined to get her the part. But once the company's veteran dancer Heather Daltry is cut, everything goes berserk.
