Five surprising actors who've never won an Academy Award

$

While many A-list actors have won an Academy Award or 10, some very big names have never graced the Oscar stage. Here are just a few of them.

Leonardo DiCaprio

There are a lot of brilliant and talented actors who have won an Oscar, or have won many Oscars. But you might be surprised by the talent in Hollywood that has yet to win one. Here are just a few.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo has been nominated three times for acting awards at the Oscars: for Best Supporting Actor for 1994’s What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, for Best Actor for 2005’s The Aviator , and for 2007’s Blood Diamond. But , DiCaprio has never won his own Oscar.

It was called a snub when he wasn’t nominated for 1997’sTitanic but his co-stars Kate Winslet and Gloria Stuart were .

Oscar nominations: The snubs and surprises>>

DiCaprio continues to do larger-than-life movies, and hopefully his day will come soon.

Sigourney Weaver

Weaver has also been nominated for three Academy Awards. In fact, in 1989 she was nominated for an Oscar both in the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories, for Gorillas in the Mist and Working Girl, respectively. She was also nominated in 1987 for Alien. But the A-list actress has never taken home the prestigious award, and hasn’t been nominated for almost 25 years.

Johnny Depp

Depp is a surprising Oscar-less actor, largely because of the roles he plays. Depp is very picky and doesn’t choose many movies that aren't up to his standards. Like the previous two actors, he's also been nominated for three Oscars. For Depp, though, his nominations all came in the last decade.

5 Reasons Seth MacFarlane will deliver as Oscars host>>

In 2004 he was nominated for the first in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, for Best Actor. The next year he was nominated for the same award in Finding Neverland, where he played the author of Peter Pan and in 2008 he was nominated for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.

Julianne Moore

Moore has been nominated for four Oscars, but each time has gone home empty-handed. It's been 10 years since her last nomination, and in fact that year she was nominated for both acting Oscars in a lead and supporting role, for Far from Heaven and The Hours, respectively.

In 2000, she was nominated for Best Actress for The End of the Affair and in 1998 she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in Boogie Nights.

Tom Cruise

Cruise is another actor who has been nominated for three of the prestigious acting awards but again has gone home without. His first nomination came almost 25 years ago, for 1989’s Born on the Fourth of July. He wasn’t nominated again until 1997, for Jerry Maguire. His last nomination came 13 years ago, when he received the nomination for his supporting role in Magnolia.

Experience the Oscars red carpet firsthand>>

These five actors show that star power and Oscar don’t always go hand-in-hand. The actors are all still working, and could easily still win their awards at some time in the future.

Harry Styles spills Taylor Swift breakup secrets

One Direction's Harry Styles is breaking his silence about his breakup with Taylor Swift and telling the world exactly what he thinks of her little stunt at the Grammys.

Taylor Swift and Harry Styles are no more, but that doesn't mean he's got to be a hater. The One Direction singer has broken his silence on the split, and he has nothing but nice things to say about his ex.

In an interview with British radio station Capital FM, Styles complimented the crossover star on her performance prowess and "sweet" personality. But what all the girls want to know is, has his broken heart healed?

"Yeah, I'm good," he told the radio station.

"She's a great performer. She always performs great and she's always good on the stage," he said.

But what about that not-so-subtle moment during her Grammys performance of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" when she broke into a British accent?

"She's done it for a long time. She knows what she's doing onstage," Styles said diplomatically. "It was just another good Taylor Swift performance. It was good."

Why Taylor Swift should celebrate 2013 with a vow of celibacy>>

The pair will be reunited soon, as they are both scheduled to perform at the Brit Awards on Feb. 20. While most of us would find that sort of run-in with an ex in such a public venue totally awkward, Styles said it's no biggie.

"I'm not worried about seeing her at all," he said. "She's a sweet girl, you know. I don't have a bad word to say about her."

Styles' niceties differ greatly from what unnamed sources had to say about Swift after the couple's breakup. Insiders gossiped that Swift got the ax because she acts like a frigid old lady.

"Taylor is so concerned that the public will think she's a whore because she dates around, that she doesn't put out," a source told RadarOnline.

"What she doesn't get is that the guys keep dumping her because she's being a prude."

"It's no secret he's sexually active and is enjoying his fame at the moment. But Taylor just wasn't up for it as much as he is. They were sexually incompatible."

"Harry wants to go out to fancy bars and clubs and enjoy being young — but Taylor's more of a homebody and all she would talk about was antiques!" the insider said. "It drove him crazy, so he gave her the elbow!"

No shame in acting like a lady, Miss Swift. We'll go antiquing with you any time.

The James Bond flicks are known for sexy, powerful gals who are as elegant as they are bada**. Not only has the most recent installment made Moneypenny a modern woman with her very own license to kill, Skyfall is nominated for six Academy Awards… one for SheKnows' favorite sultry songstress who got an Oscars nod with fellow songwriter Paul Epworth in the Best Original Song category. Celebrate strong, beautiful women with this strong, yet elegant martini.

Yields 1

Ingredients:

Tip: This is a strong drink! If you like it a bit less brash, use 1 ounce of vodka and 2 ounces of half-and-half.
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Gold cupcake sprinkles
  • Ice
  • 2 ounces Skyy Vodka
  • 1 ounce Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • 1 ounce half-and-half
  • 3/4 once orange Grand Marnier liqueur

Directions:

  1. Drizzle the chocolate syrup in a pretty pattern on the inside of a martini glass and place it in the freezer for about half an hour to set the design.
  2. Place the gold sprinkles on a small platter in a circular pattern around the same size as the martini glass' rim. Using your index finger and thumb, rim the martini glass with just a bit of water . Spin the martini glass upside-down in the sprinkles to rim the glass. Place the glass back in the freezer to keep the chocolate from melting.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, the vodka, the chocolate liqueur, the half-and-half and the orange liqueur. Shake to combine.
  4. Strain the mixture into the chilled martini glass.

Mindy McCready: Dr. Drew's insight on the "last straw"

Dr. Drew has a thing or two to say about Mindy McCready's death and those who believe Celebrity Rehab may do more harm than good. It turns out the doctor and the deceased spoke not long before the singer's mental state took a turn for the worse.

Dr. Drew

Dr. Drew Pinsky is one of many mourning the loss of Celebrity Rehab participant Mindy McCready. Calling into The View Tuesday, the doctor shared details of his last phone call with the singer.

Explaining that the death of boyfriend David Wilson had left Mindy McCready "severely shattered," Dr. Drew said friends of the late mother of two began urging him to call her.

Mindy McCready is Dr. Drew's 5th dead celeb patient >>

"So I called her, and she was in trouble," Dr. Drew said via a phone conversation with the ladies of The View.

"She eventually did go to the hospital, which is where she should have stayed. But unfortunately, and I really do believe it is because of this same fear of stigmatization, she left prematurely, and that's when things really unraveled. She then lost custody of her children, and that was the last straw."

Celebrity Rehab's Dr. Drew a drug peddler? Yes, say the feds>>

Perhaps treating celebrities with serious problems on reality television isn't the best idea, considering five of those who've taken part in Celebrity Rehab are no longer living?

Dr. Drew addressed that idea in a roundabout way, stating that it is unfortunate those who were his patients left his care.

"In a weird way, I wish I could claim more responsibility for this," the 54-year-old explained. "The reality is, though, I haven't seen Mindy, say, in years. I've talked to her occasionally, and we've been friendly, but I've not been her doctor in years. I wish some of them would stay with us.

"Some of them do, and some of them are sober, but some go on their own way and cut their own path. And I wish I could be more responsible for them."

Kelly Clarkson: I don't have to cower to Clive Davis!

Kelly Clarkson sees Clive Davis' memoir as filled with "misinformation." While the rest of the world is hung up on the music exec's bisexuality, the young singer has other bones to pick.

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson will no longer be "bullied" by Clive Davis, now that she's a grown woman. The singer took to her WhoSay account Tuesday in response to the music executive's newly released memoir, clearing up what she believes to be "misinformation" and "memory lapses."

"So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music," Kelly Clarkson's post begins. "I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don't have to cower to anyone — even Clive Davis."

Clive Davis: Bisexuality came later in life>>

Battling what she says is a lie, Kelly Clarkson continued:

"First, he says I burst into 'hysterical sobbing' in his office when he demanded 'Since You Been Gone' be on my album. Not true at all. His stories and songs are mixed up. I did want more guitars added to the original demo and Clive did not. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn't be more proud of the life of that song. I resent him dampening that song in any way."

The part about the tears wasn't entirely false, however. The 30-year-old went on to admit, "But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called 'Because Of You.' I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a 'sh**ty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me'.... I should just shut up and sing."

Finding victory via the fans who loved her song, Clarkson added, "But I continued to fight for the song and the label relented. And it became a worldwide hit. He didn't include that in the book."

Kelly Clarkson's wedding theme: Earthy>>

After arguing that her album My December was a success despite the 80-year-old's assertion that it was lacking, the singer turned to focus on the bright side .

"Anyway, I love my job,"the chill bride-to-be concluded. "I love my music. I love my fans. I love my label and all of my professional relationships... now. And I am grateful for Clive for teaching me to know the difference."

Mario Lopez is going to be a dad for the second time!

The baby boom has hit Hollywood! Extra host, Mario Lopez, and his wife, Courtney Mazza, announced on Tuesday that they are expecting their second baby.

Mario Lopez

This is the month of love. and it seems like all of Hollywood is sharing exciting pregnancy news with their fans. Now, let's add one more to that baby list.

Extra exclusively announced on Tuesday that host Mario Lopez and his wife, Courtney Mazza, are expecting their second child.

Mario told Extra, "I am the happiest father in the world. We cannot wait to welcome baby Lopez No. 2 into our lives."

The news was announced at the taping of their daily entertainment show at The Grove in Los Angeles. Co-host Maria Menounos was on hand to assist with the big news. The mama-to-be walked on set with their 2-year-old daughter, who wore a T-shirt proclaiming, "Big Sister Gia."

The X-Factor host exclaimed, "The Lopez family is having another baby!"

Pregnancy concierge Rosie Pope was also there to help celebrate. She gifted Courtney with one of the maternity dresses from her fashion line and offered Mario her book, Mommy IQ, to brush up on a few parenthood tips.

One person in the house might be a bit apprehensive about the new addition. When the Lopezes' little girl was asked by Menounos if she wanted a brother, sister or a monkey, she stated, "A monkey."

So how is pregnancy treating Mazza? She told Us Weekly, "I'm due around Gia's birthday [Sept. 11]. I'm in that stage where I can't fit into my regular clothes anymore but I can't fit into maternity clothes yet either. But I'm good, it's all good!"

And how is dad doing? Lopez is taking it all in stride, saying, "I'm just so excited I can't take it!"

The couple met in New York when they were both starring in the Broadway revival of A Chorus Line. They began dating in 2008, had baby Gia in 2010, and married last December in Mexico. Their wedding was filmed for TLC and aired as a two-hour special.

The Academy: It's "The Oscars"

$

About three weeks ago, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences changed the name of the show — but the Academy didn't tell anyone until now. Know that it's the Oscars, not the 85th Annual Academy Awards.

Seth Macfarlane

Don't you dare call Hollywood's biggest night the 85th Annual Academy Awards. It's simply "the Oscars" this year. In a unprecedented move, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to rebrand the show about three weeks ago.

On Monday, Neil Meron, co-producer of this year's show, told TheWrap.com, "We're rebranding it. We're not calling it 'the 85th annual Academy Awards,' which keeps it mired somewhat in a musty way. It's called 'The Oscars.'"

This is in line with what Meron and fellow producer Craig Zadan told SheKnows at the Oscar Nominations in January.

Meron told SheKnows, "There's been criticism in the past about The Academy being very stuffy and mired in tradition, but I think what we're doing... is kind of blowing some of the cobwebs and dust away and allowing this to really be relevant."

A source also told SheKnows exclusively that the change in marketing plans was sudden enough that even some of the production crew were taken by surprise. In fact, some of the materials had to be reprinted at an additional cost.

One reason this move is such a big deal is that it's happening in an anniversary year. Typically, former Oscar winners are brought back every five years to honor the tradition of the show and Hollywood history. This year, it has all changed.

Whether this change is permanent remains to be seen, but Academy spokesperson Teni Melidonian told TheWrap.com, "It is right for this show, but we could easily go back to using 'Academy Awards' next year."

Inside the Oscar Nominees Luncheon>>

One other question that lingers is how long the show is going to run this year. Each morning, the media are greeted with another press release announcing more celebrity names as presenters, performers and red carpet hosts. It's a pretty extensive list with a full variety show roster.

From the cast of Les Misérables to Catherine Zeta-Jones leading her cast of 2002's Chicago onstage in a musical tribute, the Oscars promises to be an action-packed night.

SheKnows also got the inside scoop that a few familiar faces from So You Think You Can Dance will be appearing as well. Fans of the show can expect to see Alex Wong, Kathryn McCormick, Spencer Liff, Jaimie Goodwin and George Lawrence II in different portions of the evening.

So, get ready to count down to Hollywood's biggest night. Just don't call it the Academy Awards.

NBC unleashes a creepy Hannibal trailer

Hannibal the Cannibal is coming. The infamous character will headline his own series for NBC. The network's released a new trailer that showcases its take on the serial killer.

Laurence Fishburne

Mads Mikkelsen has some big shoes to fill. The Danish actor will play the title role in NBC's Hannibal. The character's the star of Thomas Harris' book series, which includes Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs, Hannibal and Hannibal Rising.

The most notable interpretation of the villain appears in the film version of Silence of the Lambs. Anthony Hopkins scared his way to an Oscar with a chilling performance as the cannibal. Can Mikkelsen pick up where he left off?

Ex–The Young And The Restless' Ellen Greene to Hannibal>>

NBC's released a premiere trailer for Hannibal, which shows the actor in action. The creep factor is definitely there. He's joined by Laurence Fishburne, who plays Jack Crawford, and Hugh Dancy as FBI profiler Will Graham.

Ted Danson replaces Laurence Fishburne on CSI>>

The last time we saw Fishburne as a TV regular was on CSI. But after a few seasons, he returned to film .

Hot trailer: Man of Steel is the new Superman>>

Hannibal has its work cut out for it. It's another adaptation of a popular film/book that will air on TV's toughest night. NBC's scheduled it for Thursdays at 10/9c. That's the same slot as CBS' Elementary and ABC's Scandal. The latter has experienced a major surge in popularity, while the former is one of the highest-rated new shows of the season. That's some tough competition.

Hannibal premieres April 4 on NBC. Good luck!

Vin Diesel shows his softer side by singing Rihanna's "Stay"

He's muscular, he's an action star, and he sings? Vin Diesel shows his romantic side with a little help from Rihanna.

Vin Diesel

Who knew that Vin Diesel was such a romantic? His girlfriend, Paloma Jimenez, clearly knows now, since she was on the receiving end of a Valentine's Day gift that has gone viral.

On the day of love, the actor posted a raw video of himself singing along to Rihanna's single "Stay." It was just Diesel in a dark room with a microphone and the Rihanna video projected on the wall next to him. The video was uploaded to his public Facebook page, where it got a lot of positive comments from his fans.

It went over so well that the Fast and Furious actor decided to recut the video with better lighting and a more artistic feel. He uploaded the new one on Monday.

On his Facebook page, Diesel revealed, "So Our Vinbook video went viral... Naturally, I became self-conscious... and thought maybe I shouldn't have exposed myself like that... Then I had dinner with my dad, and surprisingly... he said he loved it... and thought it was deep on a few levels...."

Not only did Diesel's dad respond, so did Hollywood.

The actor shared, "The Studio called today... and asked if I would be interested in doing a Musical... Hmmm... P.s. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, you don't have to be perfect... just believe in yourself."

It might be interesting to see the muscular action star sing in his impressive range and break out of his stereotypical movie roles. While there is certainly no casting news to announce yet, it is something for Diesel to mull over.

Fast and Furious: 6 Plot details finally revealed>>

What is certain is that he loves his girlfriend, whom he addressed in the video with "Happy V day, amore," three times at the end of the song.

Diesel, who is notoriously private about his personal life, told Hollywood.com in 2006, "I'm not gonna put it out there on a magazine cover like some other actors. I come from the Harrison Ford, Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino code of silence."

It looks like that silence was just broken with a song.

Law and Order: SVU tackles "legitimate rape" scandal

$

Law and Order: SVU is no stranger to controversial topics. This season, it'll cover the recent political attacks on women — specifically, the issue of pregnancies brought on by rape.

Lauren Cohan

Once again, Law and Order: SVU is turning fact into semi-fiction. The long-running drama centers on sex crimes committed against women and children. In an upcoming episode, it will tackle a topic that's been ripped from the headlines.

Law and Order: SVU lives to see Season 14>>

Last year, when the election was in full swing, a U.S. Senate candidate in Missouri, Todd Akin, made a disturbing comment. He claimed that women's bodies have a way of stopping pregnancy brought on by rape.

"It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, that's really rare," Akin said. "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down."

Law and Order: SVU will test that theory with the help of Lauren Cohan.

Miranda Lambert to make acting debut as rape victim>>

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Walking Dead actress will guest star as "Avery Jordan, a popular sports reporter who accuses her cameraman of raping her. When she learns she's pregnant from the encounter, she opts to keep the baby."

The Walking Dead recap: Prison yard invasion>>

This isn't the first time Cohan's portrayed a victim of sexual assault. During the current season of The Walking Dead, her character, Maggie, was violated by the villainous Governor. She's still reeling from the trauma and hasn't dealt with the aftereffects.

Cohan's a strong actress who's fully capable of handling this material. She's previously appeared on The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural.

Law and Order: SVU airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on NBC. The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.

The Face's Margaux blogs: Christy should be ashamed to call herself a model

Christy was ignorant & rude

There's always a moment of relief when the week is over and the remaining models realize they've made it through to the next round. Unfortunately that moment doesn't last long as a new week begins and there are more hurdles to jump over.

Every week we expect new surprises when Nigel announces what our test shoot and campaign is going to be. The surprises we don't expect are the ones that come from the other contestants. For instance, when Christy makes her "one of these is not like the other" comment when referring to Stephanie, she goes on to say how Stephanie is "not a model and needs to work on being more toned". I assure you that this is not the Christy that I and many other girls knew and spent time with in the house. She was always bubbly and kind of ditzy but never rude. I was completely shocked, to say the least.

Margaux on The Face

Next it was time for our second test shoot, "Pose-Off," where we were each tested on how many poses we could do in 60 seconds while modeling a pair of Vogue Eyewear sunglasses or optical lenses. To highlight a few, I think Stephanie did an amazing job: she changed up her expressions and kept moving, she looked really confident and I know Coco was impressed. Nigel nailed Jocelyn's attempt with his "a lot of mouth-wide-open shots, I think we're selling toothpaste" comment. I guess her look book experience didn't help her here.

Zilin gets the award for how many ways you can pose with sunglasses without actually putting them on, if only that was the actual challenge. Lastly, you have to give Sandra credit — the girl has spunk, but I don't think I saw her eyes once during her pose-off and Nigel's comment about her looking more like Cousin It while modeling was pure gold.

Margaux Brooke on The Face

I felt pretty confident going into the challenge. What Jocelyn said was true: "How do you follow Coco Rocha?" The answer is you can't, she's the queen of posing — but that doesn't mean I wasn't going to try my hardest. I felt good about my own performance but I did have trouble with the wind blowing my hair into my face, so I knew I lost time and shots because of that. I honestly didn't know how I was going to place overall. But more than anything, I wanted to impress my mentor and make her proud.

We didn't get to watch each other pose, so I was slightly surprised to find out that all of Naomi's girls were at the bottom but happy to find out that Brittany and I were at the top, and not at all surprised that Madeleine won. That girl and I have had quite a few photo-booth sessions together at the loft and I know she's a pro at changing up her facial expressions. Way to go, Madeleine!

Sandra wasn't at all pleased that her team ended up at the bottom three and felt it was only appropriate to have a "team meeting" after the challenge. However, Jocelyn felt that because it was a test shoot and not a campaign that they should each deal with the loss as individuals. Sandra took that as Jocelyn being arrogant and not a team player, and started to show a whole other side of herself. Well, maybe this side isn’t entirely new but it definitely elaborated on her rage towards Jocelyn from the previous week. This time Sandra said she wished she could run into Jocelyn on the street, and that she was about to “throw something at her damn head.” I’m sure Jocelyn was happy not to be alone on a street with Sandra at that moment, and that she was safely surrounded by a modest-sized cast and crew, aka witnesses.

Apparently the altercation was dramatic enough for Naomi to be called in on her day off, because she showed up out of nowhere to council her fighting teammates. She told Sandra that she needed to get thicker skin and that she shouldn’t take things so personally, which is something Naomi has always struggled with. The irony was too much to handle — flash back to last week when she was slamming the door on Karolina’s heels for sending Aleksandra home. It wasn’t personal, right?

Up next: campaign day >>

The Face

Christy was ignorant & rude

There's always a moment of relief when the week is over and the remaining models realize they've made it through to the next round. Unfortunately that moment doesn't last long as a new week begins and there are more hurdles to jump over.

Next up was campaign day, something we were all excited about, yet scared of, because with every campaign comes an elimination. Nigel tells us that we'll be filming a 15-second commercial for Cosabella lingerie, and that the winning team will have a lingerie collection named after them. I instantly thought the “Margaux” bustier sounded pretty sexy and that I wanted to win this. Nigel goes on to say that we'll each have to portray a sexy, sweet or conservative woman in the commercial. I knew immediately that I wanted to be anything but conservative, but I was willing to fill whatever role my team didn’t want to play. Brittany jumped at the idea of sexy, mentioning how she’d been in Maxim before. Marlee was not very comfortable showing off much skin so she sided with sweet, and Stephanie took one for the team and said she would play conservative. So that left me with the choice of playing any of the roles, and I thought sexy would be the most fun because it’s the total opposite of my personality. I’m very much a goofy tomboy, but it’s fun to be sexy every once in a while.

We decided to go with matching blue lingerie to make the commercial more cohesive. It’s less distracting for the viewer’s eye, that way they can just focus on the actual style of each lingerie set. After we were all dressed in our lingerie, Coco showed up to coach us on how to do a lingerie campaign. I know a lot of people must be thinking, “What does Coco know about lingerie? She doesn’t even model it.” But Coco is a performer and a chameleon , and like she said, she's watched enough lingerie commercials to know what a good one looks like. She tried to instill a few basic thoughts in us: the most important one was that sexy is powerful. She wanted us to be strong, confident women and that alone would sell the product. She didn’t want us touching each other at all on set because that was “another kind of commercial” meant for a “different audience.”

Next we got to style our look. We chose to wear peep-toe Sam Edelman sling-backs, no jewelry and paired our look with tousled hair and a light smoky eye — simple yet elegant.

Later on set we met Guido Campella, vice president of Cosabella, and Brian O’Carroll, who would be directing the commercial. I was so excited to work with a new director and that I had another client to impress. The best part about The Face is that we got to work with real clients that we could potentially book future jobs with, so it was important to impress them every chance we got.

"What does Coco know about lingerie? She doesn’t even model it..."

It was time for the games to begin, and Team Karolina was first. Christy switched up her role from conservative to sexy right in the middle of shooting. This may have had something to do with her earlier opinion about being “miscast” and how she felt she didn’t know how to play conservative. After all, she didn’t “run every day to wear a potato sack.” But I guess that completely outweighs her actual job, which is to be a model and play whatever role is given to her, including ones that may cover up her “smokin’ bod.” Hmmm. Needless to say, she switched to a much sexier bra and matching panties, and she definitely showed off her body, but at what cost? Even if Karolina knew every one of Victoria’s Secret's models, I don’t think it would be enough for their team to score a win.

We were the second team to go up. I was feeling confident about what Coco had gone over with us back in the loft, and we all knew what roles we were going to play and how to play them. Once we got on set and the bed was set on fire — yes, our bed literally had fire shooting out of the bedposts — we all had our game faces on and were ready to work. Coco did an amazing job at directing us, and even though Karolina felt she was being bossy, Coco was just doing her job, and that was to coach us. Her coaching combined with Brian O’Carroll’s laid-back, confident direction made the entire process run smoothly. This was the first time where I felt I was actually working, like any other job, and I became completely unaware of the cameras all around me. We all really worked together, stayed in character and followed direction. I don’t think we could have done a better job with the time we were given. I felt Team Coco had this one for sure.

Last to go was Naomi’s team. They, like Karolina’s team, seemed very confused about which role each girl was supposed to play. Sandra continuously flopped from overly sweet to overtly sexy. Zilin also seemed a little too sweet and sexy at times for her conservative role, but I think because Jocelyn chose sexy she did a good job. I would have been interested to see if she could have done an equally good job in a different role, like conservative. Team Naomi tried their hand at a pillow fight, something Team Coco tried first but was cut out of the aired material. Honestly, I didn’t know what Guido thought of Team Naomi, other than his blatant curiosity about whether any of her girls had done a lingerie shoot before. That doesn’t sound like he was feeling too confident about their performance.

After watching our performance versus the other teams, I was 100 percent sure, without a shadow of a doubt, that Team Coco was going to win. Even Guido’s comment about me being one of the strongest on my team was too much to bear. But in the end he loved the “aloofness” of Zilin and chose Team Naomi. I’m pretty sure the entire cast and crew was shocked about that decision. Even members of Team Karolina came up to us afterward completely flabbergasted, commenting on how Team Naomi’s commercial looking like “soft-core porn” versus our tasteful display of Cosabella beauty. So now the world can go out and buy Cosabella’s special edition Never Say Never panty packs with Jocelyn, Zilin and Sandra’s faces on them. Enjoy!

This was an emotional loss for Team Coco, and Sandra’s dramatic celebration of screaming, jumping and running around was like pouring salt on our wounds. None of us deserved to be put up for elimination, let alone to be sent home. Coco had a tough decision to make — I’m sure she was terrified to send any of her girls in the ring with Naomi Campbell choosing their fates, but someone had to go. Coco came into our room on the verge of tears, saying how the decision was killing her and how we all did an amazing job, but in the end she had to pick someone. I knew I was going to be safe, and figured Brittany probably was too — we both performed well in the test shoot and in the campaign, so it was between Marlee and Stephanie. But out of complete fairness she chose Stephanie again. Stephanie had totally stepped up her game but her overall performance just wasn’t as strong as the rest of us. So she was going to have to face Naomi in the elimination room, her second time there.

Karolina chose Christy for switching up her role mid-commercial and confusing their entire team. Christy felt that experience paired with her “extremely long legs and bombshell hair” were enough to keep her in the game. Ironically, after talking all of that crap behind Stephanie’s back, Christy couldn’t even muster a defense in front of Naomi, making it all that easier for Naomi to tell Christy that she was “not The Face” and saving Stephanie. Naomi definitely made the right choice, making Stephanie and Team Coco very happy.

Christy from The Face

The show closed with Christy sitting down in front of the lone makeup table to wipe her face clean and speak her parting words. “I feel that the total wrong choice was made. Just because this is a model competition, I’m 5’ 11.5” and 117 pounds, and the girl that got to stay is about 5’ 8” and probably 165 pounds.” Again, modeling, according to Christy Nelson, is one word: “classy.” Being a model isn’t about having one set of characteristics. There are so many different models that are of different heights, weights, skin colors and textures and with varying facial features. So for Christy to say that she was built for this over Stephanie was totally ignorant and rude and she should be ashamed to call herself a model. I’m just glad we all got to see this side of Christy. The Face is one of the few reality television shows that is actually “real” on occasion. I assure you none of the girls knew that Christy was like that. Good riddance and tune in next week to see what happens!

The Face airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Oxygen.

Woman in organized living room

Welcome to Decorating Diva, where every week we share fresh, fun ways to update your home and spice up your living space!

Easy ways to
get organized

One of the easiest ways to enhance your home is by getting — and keeping it organized. So we're showing you how to declutter and tidy every room in six easy steps.

1

Make cleaning more fun!

woman cleaning

We get it, cleaning isn't fun. But you can inject a bit more playfulness into the process to help keep boredom at bay. For starters, put on your favorite tunes to get you motivated to move. There's no rule that says you can't dance around the house while you clean it! You can also put on a cheesy movie while you work to help pass the time, or involve your kids and make cleaning a game — whoever completes their task first gets a prize. The point is to take some of the snooze factor out of cleaning and organizing.

2

Stay on top of things

Trying to tackle the entire home from top to bottom in one day is daunting. Who wants to spend the entire day with a mop in hand? Not us, which is why we're big advocates of doing a little bit of cleaning every day so you don't ever have to feel compelled to spend the day inside scrubbing and polishing, when you'd rather be doing anything but. Decide on an amount of time you'll spend each day and use that time to keep on top of the cleaning. Put things away, wipe down counters and sinks, spot clean any sticky spots on the floor — do whatever you can fit into that time. Set a timer if it helps keep you motivated.

3

Create a cleaning schedule — and stick to it

One of the biggest challenges many people have when it comes to cleaning and organizing is doing it at random times, rather than on a schedule. If you really want to keep your home in order, the easiest way to ensure it happens is to create a checklist of whatever needs to be done each week and allot a specific day to each item. Post the list on the fridge or the home message board and consult it through the week so you know what needs to be done, whether it's mopping the floors, changing the sheets, doing laundry or dusting. The more you can keep chores on a schedule, the more consistently they'll get done.

4

Donate or have

a garage sale

garage sale

Want to spend less time lamenting how cluttered and disorganized your home is? Do a purge and get rid of as much as you can. The less you own, the easier it is to keep your space looking great. We suggest going through each room and pulling out anything you no longer use or like. From there, decide whether you want to sell some of it at a garage sale or whether you'd rather donate it. Once you've committed to getting rid of something, it goes. If you haven't looked at or used an item in at least a year , there's no need for you to hang onto it.

5

Store what
you don't use

Storage bin

Books to remote controls to toys can easily end up throughout the house long after they were in use, but the more you let things like that pile up, the messier your house is going to look. Solve that problem by implementing a rule for everyone in the family that says anything you take out needs to be put back. This also means stocking up on more storage if you don't currently have enough bins, baskets or boxes to hold the items in question. There are lots of stylish storage solutions to choose from to make that process easier.

6

Add hooks and shelves
if you need to

Like the aforementioned baskets and bins, it's also important to have enough hooks and shelf space so nothing needs to be left on the floor. Go through your home and see where hooks are lacking, and then add some to the backs of bedroom doors, in the bathroom, and in the entryway, so things like coats, towels or bathrobes can be neatly hung versus tossed on the floor or shoved into a closet. The same goes for shelves. If you have more books than shelf space, it's time to add more storage space. Floating shelves make for an easy way to increase space for things like books and home accents you want to display.

I think every mom can agree that once their bundle of joy enters this world, life as they know it changes completely — especially style. Yes, we see celebrities looking chic and stylish almost immediately after giving birth, but we do need to remember that they usually have a team making sure that they are as fabulous as ever! For the rest of us, our style naturally changes as our family and responsibilities grow. Here real moms and mommy bloggers tell us ways that their style transformed once they became a mother:

Mommy style

I think every mom can agree that once their bundle of joy enters this world, life as they know it changes completely — especially style. Yes, we see celebrities looking chic and stylish almost immediately after giving birth, but we do need to remember that they usually have a team making sure that they are as fabulous as ever! For the rest of us, our style naturally changes as our family and responsibilities grow.

We asked real moms and mommy bloggers to tell us how their styles transformed once they became mothers. The answers might surprise you!

Trend #1: Comfort and convenience!

The first trend I noticed when talking to “real moms” was that their wardrobes transformed from expensive and dressy to basic, comfortable and budget-friendly. Moms need wardrobes that can withstand anything from spit up and playing in the dirt at the park to cooking and cleaning. Obviously, nicer designer duds are saved for work or a night out on the town.

As a beauty and style expert and a mom of two young boys myself, I have noticed the evolution of my “mommy clothes” and my “dress up clothes.” I never used to care about “washability” but now it is a big deal. I can’t just wait to dry clean clothes or to sit and hand wash pieces. I need to be able to throw it in the washer and dryer and be good to go!

Here is what other moms had to say:

Molly Skyar

Conversations With My Mother

Molly SkyarAfter becoming a mother, I've found that I buy more work staples for my wardrobe such as black skinny pants and longer tops because I have less time to shop and need quick and easy dressing solutions. On the days I don't have to go in to an office, I'm all about Lululemon yoga pants. I wear them everywhere. They are technically workout pants, but they have a nicely tailored fit, so if you add a cute top and an accessory , you can pull it off as an easy, casual look and it's super quick to put together. I stick with black for the pants. I have no time to spend on myself in the morning between getting the kids up and going to school, making breakfast and lunches and getting out the door on time!

suzanne

I'd say now I dress for comfort. My clothes are definitely inexpensive and washable!

Dessa Meyer

The truth is, my style hasn't really evolved. It's actually gone somewhat downhill as I don't have time to maintain my clothes, beauty, etc. Yet, I try to keep things more simple and stick to nice, good quality basics when it comes to items like coats, boots and cashmere sweaters. My clothes for going out are nice and better quality than my stay at home mommy clothes. I now realize my day clothes don't need to be expensive as I am cooking and rushing around all day. I think this separation of almost two wardrobes helps me feel even more special when I go out since I'm excited to wear my nicer clothes.

Trend #2: Find your chic go-to outfits

Moms have become savvy at pulling together outfits that are stylish and easy to wear. Instead of just wearing sweats all day, we know that a great pair of jeans paired with a blazer and perfect accessories can take us from day to night:

Jennifer

Perfectly Disheveled:

Jennifer BrandtBelieve it or not, I started to care more about how I dressed after becoming a mom. Though I do spend a good portion of my days in workout clothes , when I go "out," I do think about style and want to look cute. I have worked with my dear friend and stylist, Robin Saperstein of High Heel in a Haystack, at coming up with adorable, layered and chic looks that can be taken from day to night, park to party. The key piece, I think, is a fabulous pair of skinny jeans and a cute, comfy blazer.

Lisa Haisha

Creator of Soul Blazing:

Lisa HaishaMy style went from getting up at 6 a.m., working out, showering, dressing up and putting on high heels and makeup to do coaching, business and marketing calls to rolling out of bed, then throwing on sweats, a cozy top, flat shoes and then putting my hair in a ponytail. Then attending to my daughter's needs. This was the first year. Now, four years later, I'm more balanced. I wear some makeup and dress casual nice .

romy schorr

Blogger at RomyRaves.com:

Romy SchorrIn all honesty, it really didn't change. I've always dressed to flatter my curves, to wear statement making accessories and lightly embraced trends. While it hasn't changed since I've become a mom, I've never let myself go either . I consider myself a hip, on trend mom, and I embrace that!

Deep silver

I definitely became more functional. Not in a boring way, just in a more applicable way to having kids in my life. Sassy sandals went from having a 3-inch heel to being flat. Nice pants were traded in for easy wash trendy jeans. Marc Jacobs handbag was traded in for a patent leather diaper bag. I welcome my new evolved style and I love my two little accessories that are always by my side — Bella, age 4 and Anya, age 1.

Trend #3: Conservative mommy

Another evolution seems to be be that moms have become more conservative after having kids. I know I became much more conscious of low-cut blouses and even my bathing suits became more conservative. Even at the local swimming club, I found myself wanting to wear a one-piece or a tankini even though it would have never crossed my mind in the past. Not so much for figure concealing, but for modesty and “playability” .

Other moms shared:

Penny earnhart

I realized that my daughters pay close attention now to what I wear, so I make smarter choices so that I am setting a good example for them from the very beginning. They even help me decide which shoes to wear now and I usually agree. The catch is that if I don’t agree, I shouldn’t have asked them because I always try to follow through with their decision!

Tracy Horan

I stopped wearing clothes that were too revealing — no more short shorts or teeny-bikinis. No more white clothes either!

Real people sound off on Oscar-nominated movies

Who decides which films are the best of the year? What does your average American think of these movies and their critical acclaim? Does Hollywood just tell us which movies are the best, or do we disagree? Here we bring you a no-holds-barred look at what people really think about a few of the Oscar-nominated movies...

Zero Dark Thirty

Zero Dark Thirty

We've all heard about this Oscar-nominated film depicting the manhunt that got Osama bin Laden, but how did it trickle down to theaters? The reviews found on IMDb for Zero Dark Thirty were largely unfavorable.

David from Silicon Valley sets the tone with, "In short too unrealistic to feel like a true to life story , and too slow to enjoy like a piece of fiction."

JD from Canada, whose review is titled, "I can't believe how bad this movie is" went on to say, "After watching Zero Dark Thirty I am simply amazed at the critical reception it's received."

From the comic relief side of the IMDb review aisle, we have Janis, who said, "Take this movie and take a dump on it."

By and large, reviewers felt the movie had bad dialogue and no character development and is snooze-worthy.

Movie Lincoln

Lincoln

Facebook friends were happy to weigh in on this Oscar nominee.

Milan, who works in construction, thought that Daniel Day-Lewis' portrayal was "awesome" and that the politics of the Lincoln era demonstrate that nothing has changed since Athens and Rome. Milan went on to say that Lincoln was "better than any action movie out there."

Writer and musician Ed agreed. "I went to Lincoln twice and thought it was the best movie of the year, hands down. I thought Django Unchained was a hoot, but would you really want to encourage Tarantino with an Oscar?"

Django Unchained

Django Unchained

Steven, an engineering student, loved Django Unchained, as did his 26-year-old real estate agent sister, Stephanie. When I asked why, Stephanie explained, "Because it was a rousing love/revenge story. It also had an old-time western flair."

Despite the controversies about racial epithets and violence that surrounded this movie, it was a fan favorite. Mindy, who filed a comment under a Huffington Post review of Django Unchained said, "I felt the movie was brilliant. It made me laugh, cry, cringe and cheer."

Bradley Cooper of Silver Linings Playbook

Silver Linings Playbook

Starring Bradley Cooper as a guy who suffers from being bipolar and Jennifer Lawrence as a sex addict who has recently lost her husband, Silver Linings Playbook stood out for audiences. Where other Oscar-nominated films were viewed as long and boring, SLP became a frontrunner for a movie people would have seen even if it hadn't been so highly acclaimed.

Mother of a 4- and 13-year-old and morning radio DJ Laurie says, "Silver Linings Playbook was so well-acted. I actually watched the whole thing — a movie that can keep me awake that long has got to be good!"

Of interest, many viewers loved the characters but found the story line flawed. Coup, a "Super Reviewer" on Rotten Tomatoes, sums up this sentiment with his review: "Silver Linings Playbook [features] two richly developed, superbly acted performances slightly tainted by a false scene that was tonally, very off."

Ben Affleck in Argo

Argo

Of all the "real" people I polled for this article, only one, Lauren, had seen Argo. She says, "I liked it, but personally, I don't think it's Oscar-worthy. Everyone else seems to think so. I guess the cheese stands alone on this one."

Turns out Lauren is not completely alone. If you read just a few reviews on IMDb, you come away with a consensus — Ben Affleck did a good job directing this film, but the historical inaccuracies annoyed many moviegoers.

James, an IMDb reviewer who titled his review "Yet another inaccurate historical film," had this to say: "This film spends half its time calling Hollywood a bunch of phonies and liars, then makes a phony film that tells a lie. The true story is amazing. This one completely misleads on the actual events, and leaves out some of its greatest heroes. I've seen Ben Affleck on multiple talk shows talking about politics. This film had a chance to tell an amazing story of diplomacy, cooperation and bravery, but failed to tell the story."

Kim Kardashian explains her maternity fashion choices

Kim Kardashian has turned heads with her fashion choices, both before and during pregnancy. But the mom-to-be explains her body makes her dress that way.

Kim Kardashian

If you thought Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy would get her to wear more appropriate clothing, you would be wrong. Kardashian’s choice of maternity clothes has some questioning her fashion sense, but she says she dresses that way because of that fashion sense.

Most anticipated births of 2013>>

“I think because I have big boobs it could make me look heavier if I don’t, like, show off my waist or something,” Kardashian told DuJour magazine. “So I just have kind of learned to dress one way only.”

Kardashian also seems to compare herself to her sisters, but the three are completely different when it comes to size, shape and fashion sense.

Khloé can wear flowy, pretty things because she’s really tall. Kourtney is, like, really little,” she told the magazine “I’m just kind of in between, so it doesn’t really work.”

What do celebrity couples' outfits reveal about their relationship?>>

But Kardashian has to deal with something very few pregnant women do: going through your pregnancy in the public eye.

“When you live your life so publicly, like on a reality show, people assume that they know every side of you already,” Kardashian said. “But they always want more.”

Besides the world following her every move, the pregnancy has brought many other new challenges. Kardashian says she was always excited for pregnancy so she could eat whatever she wanted, but she has found the opposite is true.

Mommy tweets: Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, Kendra Wilkinson>>

“I’m like, OK, I want to eat as healthy as possible,” she said. “Though lately I’ve been watching shows like I’m PregnantAnd Addicted to Meth. It definitely makes me feel better if I’m wanting one sip of Diet Coke or, you know, too much sugar. I’m like, ‘This woman is on meth.’”

Just like her sister Khloé, Kim knew she could have difficulty having children. But now that she's pregnant, she's excited for things to come.

“I just feel so blessed and excited and ready for the next phase,” she said.

Is Victoria Beckham preggo again?

David and Victoria Beckham have both been telling of a certain desire to make another little Beckham, as rumors rise that Beckham #7 is already on the way.

Victoria Beckham at Fashion Week

Only the Beckham family knows Victoria Beckham's conception status right now, but rumors are flying that she's already knocked up.

Of course, gossip watchers will recall that it was bandied about that she was pg in October after she abstained from drinking during the Summer Olympics in London . She shot that rumor down.

But Entertainment Wise reported that the Beckhams did try to conceive during said Olympics, as it would be fitting to get pregnant during the year of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee.

Both Beckhams are on record as saying they'd love a fifth child.

David Beckham told a British talk show that he and the former Posh Spice would like to have "one or two more" children.

Posh and Becks must be so proud! Romeo's new gig>>

"We're not thinking about it yet, but if it happens, great," the Daily Mail quotes him in his talk show interview. "We're busy people and we're enjoying the four kids that we've got already and we're lucky, we're lucky to have four healthy children."

For her part, Victoria Beckham told Glamour in 2012 that in five years she'd "never say never about another baby. It’s a juggling act — a career, family, a husband who’s busy. But I’d never say never!"

Closer magazine reported that a source said Victoria and David's lucky number is seven, so they'd like to add at least one more to their ridiculously gorgeous brood to get up to that number. She also wanted to give Harper a sister/best friend.

Closer also reported this month that with David signed on to play with French soccer club Paris Saint-Germain, the family is settled in Paris together after living in Los Angeles for several years.

Perhaps a little one to brighten up Chez Beckham?

Peter Facinelli found Breaking Dawn script really scary

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 Blu-ray is set for a March 2 release and in this exclusive clip, stars Kristen Stewart and Peter Facinelli explain why turning the Breaking Dawn book into a movie was a formidable process.

Breaking Dawn still

Turning Stephenie Meyers' 768-page wrap-up to her Twilight Saga into a movie wasn't an easy task, stars Kristen Stewart and Peter Facinelli assert in this exclusive clip from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2's Blu-ray edition, out March 2.

As the stars tell it, making the separate halves of the almost four-hour-long Breaking Dawn set was a Herculean task.

"It's being shot like one movie," says Kristen Stewart, being interviewed for the DVD extras. "And the book is not broken up into two different stories, so it's kind of just one long movie."

She sounds tired, no?

Peter Facinelli, who plays vamp dad Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the Twilight movies, said that he felt pretty intimidated when the movie's scripts arrived.

"When I got the scripts to these movies they were 250 pages," he says in a gee-whiz tone. "Like two scripts. It was heavy and I looked at it and I was like whoa, this is pretty daunting."

Maybe so, but perhaps it was worth it? Some fans were so excited for the movie's release that some started camping out almost a week before it came out. Too much, you think?

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 Extended Edition will also be available March 2.

Taylor Swift hit with lawsuit over canceled concert

Taylor Swift has been slapped with a lawsuit for pocketing $2.5 million for a concert that never happened.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift will be partying at the Brit Awards tonight, but her lawyers aren't in such a jolly mood. The crossover singing sensation has been slapped with a lawsuit for allegedly pocketing a huge chunk of cash for a concert that never happened.

Swift was supposed to perform at the Capital Hoedown in Ottawa, Canada, in August 2012 for the tidy sum of $2.5 million — but the show was canceled because the organizers were bad at organizing. The concert never came together and the ticket company was forced to refund $1.8 million to buyers.

Now that company thinks Swift should be the one footing the bill — not because she had anything to do with the cancellation , but because she never actually performed due to the organizers' own negligence.

Boiling that down, they want Swift to pay for their mistake.

Carrie Underwood denies feud with Taylor Swift>>

If Swift did actually foot the bill she would still walk away with $700,000 for doing exactly nothing, but her peeps are not so quick to throw a check out there. Her rep told TMZ that she never made any kind of refund agreement with the ticket company, nor has she even seen the lawsuit.

The 23-year-old has much bigger fish to fry, like making recent ex Harry Styles eat his heart out during her performance at the 2013 Brit Awards tonight and trying to beat out Rihanna, Lana Del Rey, Alicia Keys and Cat Power for Best International Female Solo Artist. Will she repeat her Grammys dis?
