VIDEO: Did Naya Rivera get a boob job?

Naya Rivera posted a hot photo of herself on the beach with her fiancé, Big Sean. But it's not the beautiful scenery or the loving couple that has everyone talking — it's Rivera's body.

Happy 100th! Glee's very special setlist >>

After the Glee actress posted the photo on Instagram, her breasts became the topic of conversation across the internet because the bikini Rivera was wearing made her look a little bigger (or a lot bigger) in the chest.

Although many are speculating that Rivera may have had surgery to enhance her assets, the larger chest could very likely be an optical illusion. Rivera is often seen in a cheerleading uniform, which doesn't exactly show off the body (at least not in the way a bikini does). She is also often photographed in more covering clothing, and it's also possible her bathing suit manipulated things to make her look a size or two larger.

Naya Rivera is gleefully engaged to rapper Big Sean >>

Rivera is obviously so much more than her body — she is a talented actress, singer and dancer. And, for now, Rivera is just focusing on the 100th episode of Glee. She tweeted her excitement at being a part of such a milestone.

Glee's Lea Michele also tweeted her thanks to everyone who has supported them through their last 99 episodes.

What do you think? Is Rivera's new look an optical illusion or a sign of surgery?

Kate Gosselin is making a comeback on TLC. The network that first introduced us to the sharp-tongued mother of twins and sextuplets with Jon & Kate Plus 8 is bringing her and the kids back for an upcoming one-hour special.

Jon Gosselin: Kate needs a psychiatrist! >>

Celebrating the big news on Twitter, the ex-wife of Jon Gosselin wrote:

"I grew up watching your family! I can't wait to see how you've been," one person wrote to the former coupon blogger, which she retweeted. Another added, "Well, look at that. Good things do come to those who wait."

Kate Gosselin's twins embarrass her on live TV >>

As you might imagine, though, not everyone is thrilled to hear the 38-year-old and her kids will be back on the small screen.

"You humiliated the twins on The Today Show & The View," one Twitter user commented in reply to the announcement. "Are you forcing them to perform on this show as well?"

Another user questioned "What r u up 2 now?????? Dying to get [your] faces on TV," before referencing her ex's disapproval of his children being on television by adding, "[Your] husband is right."

Dodging the comment with kill-them-with-kindness style, Kate Gosselin replied, "I'm single. Haven't been married for over 4 years now! So glad ur happy we are back! We're all happy here, that's 4 sure!"

Will you be watching Kate Gosselin's one-hour special? Why or why not?

Kate Winslet reveals meaning of eccentric baby name to Ellen

Kate Winslet gave birth to new baby Bear Blaze 14 weeks ago and, at first glance, the name is quite unconventional. The A-list actress sat down with Ellen DeGeneres to let the world know the sweet meaning behind the name and how the whole family was involved in picking it.

Worst celebrity baby names 2013 >>

Winslet's two older children from previous marriages — Mia, 13, and Joe, 10 — played a big part in naming their new brother. "We were thinking about names during the pregnancy and actually I had never... when I was pregnant with Mia and pregnant with Joe, I didn't name them before they came out because I just felt I needed to see them and see who they are going to be," the Titanic actress divulged.

"But, of course, this time around, there was Mia and Joe and the whole pregnancy is about 'what are we going to call the baby?' So it was really lovely, actually; they were very much included and we settled on Bear quite early on. A friend of mine when I was younger was nicknamed Bear and I just had always really loved it."

And Bear's middle name? Well, the second name is an homage to how she met her husband, Ned Rocknroll (yes, that's really his name). "Bear's second name is Blaze because my husband and I met in a house fire basically," said Winslet, referring to the fire that burned down Virgin mogul Richard Branson's home in the Caribbean in 2011 when she was staying there. "The house burnt down and we survived, but we wanted something of the fire, and so Blaze was the name that we came up with."

When asked if baby Bear would carry his mama or papa's last name, Winslet was quick to answer that her offspring's last name would not be Rocknroll. "Why not?" asked DeGeneres. "Why do you think, Ellen?" quipped Winslet.

And, like everyone else who was present in Los Angeles this past week, Winslet got a a little shake-up from the rather sizable earthquake that occurred on Monday. She was awake in her hotel, on the phone with her husband, when the rumble started. She was also apparently connected to a breast pump and "carried on pumping through the entire thing... it was actually quite scary!"

So... if this was another scary, life-threatening force of nature she braved together with her husband, will it be reflected in the name of their next child? We're thinking Tiger Tremor Winslet has a nice ring to it.

The Face "modelestant" Afiya Bennett shares her first exclusive blog post with SheKnows!
The Face

Week 2: Naomi Campbell's best advice

Week 2 of The Face brought all-new challenges to the "modeltestants" — and one difficult elimination.

We started off this episode with Naomi upset about being forced to eliminate a woman of color from the competition. I completely understand why Naomi was upset because she of all people knows firsthand that it is hard to be a successful model of color in the fashion industry. So to be put in a situation where she was forced to remove one of the few who actually made it on the show was heartrending. If I was in the situation I would have definitely been upset as well.

It was an honor working with Tyson Beckford because I remember admiring his career as an aspiring model. I vividly remember him in the Ralph Lauren campaign and acknowledging his outstanding success as a model. Although he is male, I still saw a part of myself in his career, like, "If he can do it, so can I."

Meet our newest blogger: The Face's Afiya Bennett >>

"Keep your head up and walk proud."

Modeling in the latex skirt was far more difficult than any of the girls made it seem. We literally could not move anything above the knee and the shoes were not only extremely uncomfortable to walk in but the steps up and down the runway were added obstacles. Thankfully, I was able to conquer that particular runway. I was so flattered that Tyson thought I had an amazing presence on the runway. Hearing that from him definitely keeps me encouraged and reminds me of why I continue to pursue my dream.

Pamella Roland is an amazing designer, so to be working with her on a campaign is incredible because by doing well it will only create further opportunities for the future. Her dresses are amazing because they cater to all ages. Nothing comes to mind but excitement at the idea of the winning team owning one of her dresses and bags! We have to do this.

The Face, episode 2

Walking on the dinner-table runway was extremely difficult because not only was the runway narrow and filled with dinner set for 40, but I had the heaviest and longest dress of all the girls. It was expected that I would knock down a few things on the table with the dress I was given but not the whole table! All I could ask myself was, "How am I gonna make it down the runway in this dress without knocking anything down? It's impossible!" When I asked Naomi what to do, she said, "Keep your head up and walk proud." I think I wore that dress well, I never stopped walking, and kept my head up high and proud. That is some of the best advice I was ever given.

I was devastated that my team didn't win. Losing a team member is always unfortunate, but it just means I have to step up even more because now my chances of going home go up if I mess up. There is no room for error next week.

Officially over last summer's obsession with Lorde's "Royals" and looking for something new to get you through the wet, clingy spring and straight into a sizzling summer? Try Allie X's killer new single, "Prime."

Also perfect for summer: Lily Allen's upcoming new album! >>

"Prime" is everything wonderful about pop music and it's perfect for setting the mood in whatever dark room it's being played. The single is filled with jarring synthy sounds to make hips twitch and heads roll. Allie X's voice is '80s Day-Glo happiness served with a side of sassy. Mix them together and what Allie X offers is 4 minutes of intergalactic dancing... or biting your lip in the corner.

Are you hooked yet? That's what we thought.

For more synthy fun, try the Daft Punk-Jay Z collaboration >>

Believe it or not, this Canadian wonder is still unsigned talent. We doubt she'll remain that way for long, though. She was drop-kicked onto millions of radars earlier this month when none other than Katy Perry pimped out Allie X's first single, "Catch."

The brilliance that is "Catch" turned plenty of heads and taught many of Allie's "Xistence." The song taps into current pop music's obsession with late '80s and early '90s throwback sounds, but twists it into something more modern. Allie X cuts through the sweetness of her voice with a breathiness, capitalizing on the song's hook, "Wait until I catch my breath." Even as the twinkling synth builds and the music takes new shape, "Catch" remains simple and, yeah, catchy.

Don't lose your breath trolling for music news: Our newsletter brings it to your inbox >>

"Catch" would have easily pulled in plenty of new fans. It's a great song that fits perfectly into music's current tech obsession. But, it's two shots in the torso to one in the head for "Prime." "Prime" is the killer track that should take Allie X from "girl Katy Perry likes" to full-blown pop star by the end of the summer.

She took us out in one "Prime" shot. How long will you last before you fall, too?

Are The Bachelor's Juan Pablo and Nikki seeking counseling?

After a surprising ending to The Bachelor's latest season where Juan Pablo Galavis didn't propose to his final choice, Nikki Ferrell, the couple reportedly already went in for some relationship counseling.

Galavis and Ferrell's odd relationship seemed doomed after the infamous bachelor refused to say "I love you" to his final pick. Most fans didn't think they'd make it at all. But now, the controversial reality couple allegedly went to see WE tv's Marriage Boot Camp counseling pair Jim and Elizabeth Carroll, Us Weekly reported.

Best quotes on Juan Pablo from The Bachelor's Chris Harrison >>

Galavis and Ferrell could be in trouble, but it looks like they may be trying to work things out. Unless the duo is just trying to appear in another reality show together, the lovebirds are apparently trying to make it work. However, while the new Bachelor couple is not actually going to star on this season of Marriage Boot Camp, they have not ruled out working with the show at a later time.

Meanwhile, the Carrolls detailed their conversation with Galavis and Ferrell, revealing that they believe the duo is thinking about marriage. But, they also said they may run into some relationship issues as well.

Jim said that Galavis "is a very strong leader, he's masculine, he doesn't like to compromise a whole lot, and he's got a good value system." On the other hand, Ferrell is very "nurturing, sympathetic, and she's more feminine in her values." Jim added that with this combination of personalities, the stronger one, which is Galavis, "would run over somebody like Nikki, if Nikki doesn't have good boundaries."

The Bachelor host Chris Harrison: No chubby Bachelors >>

But, Elizabeth added that contrary to what most fans believe, Galavis is not afraid of commitment.

"A lot of people are saying that he's commitment-phobic or he's not ready for commitment," Elizabeth said. "Not only is he not commitment-phobic, he is very serious about commitment — that's why he didn't jump into the engagement right away, because it is very serious to him."

Giving the exclusive to The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Justin Timberlake debuted his new video for "Not a Bad Thing," where he looks for a couple who got engaged on a train.

Timberlake's new video is a tribute to couple love and is about a man who proposed to his sweetheart on a train from Long Island to New York on Jan. 12. However, no one knows who the couple is, and Timberlake wants to find them.

Why did Justin Timberlake thank Ellen DeGeneres at the 2014 People's Choice Awards? >>

"The video is based on a true story of a guy that proposed to his girlfriend a few weeks ago on a train and who used this song," Ellen says upon introducing the video. "But, Justin hasn't been able to find the couple, so this song is actually a search for them."

The video begins with a dramatization of the proposal between the wanted couple and goes on to detail how two people are making a documentary on finding the lovebirds. In between the search scenes, the video features different couples talking about their own love and how they feel about the train proposal.

Survey says: Americans want Justin Timberlake as POTUS >>

"Love is not something you can really look for — it's not scripted, it just happens," one man said. "I think when you publicly propose to someone it really inspires love all around," said a woman.

The search continues, but no luck on finding the missing lovers.

"I think love is an attachment, and I found that I was so attached to my lady that I couldn't love anyone else," another man said about his girl.

"I think this couple is inspiring," one of the documentarists added about the train couple. "I think their story is a reminder that romance isn't dead and that you can look around and see love everywhere."

Editor's video pick: Justin Timberlake "Mirrors" >>

The video ends with the documentarists getting ready to knock on a door that could possibly belong to the now-famous engaged couple. But, before the door opens, the camera pans to black and a message appears, saying, "To be continued."

Apparently, the "Not a Bad Thing" couple hasn't been found yet.

"Obviously, if you know this couple, contact us," Ellen said following the video presentation. "Because Justin is trying to find you and we'll put you all together."

After years apart, it looks as though Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may have finally realized they are meant for each other. Bieber never let Gomez go, and has been talking (pretty constantly) about his ex-girlfriend since they broke up, but Gomez appeared to have left Bieber behind.

Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez: Is sex with the ex a good idea? >>

But now that they are hanging out again, it looks like they may have a future in mind with each other. That future may not just be romantic, but could also be professional.

"The duo hope[s] that hitting the road will repair their battered images," a source reportedly told Star magazine.

Although the magazine is hardly a solid source, they may be on to something. The couple was spotted a few weeks ago at SXSW, and a video leaked of them performing a very steamy dance in a Texas dance studio.

The owner of the dance studio told Hollywood Life that the Biebs and Gomez "were together then and they seem together now. They were practicing a dance together, so what do you think?"

Taylor Swift on the outs with Selena Gomez over the Biebs >>

The video sparked speculation that Bieber and Gomez were again a couple, but it could also signify that they are preparing to be on the road together.

"Ticket sales would be through the roof, and they desperately need the positive publicity after Justin's bad-boy behavior and Selena's stint in rehab," the magazine explained.

The dance video came only days after Bieber posted a photo of Gomez on his Instagram page with the caption, "Most elegant princess in the world."

No matter what the reason, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are definitely in each other's lives again, and Gomez may be here to stay this time.

Karrueche Tran has played a big role in Chris Brown's life throughout all of his troubles and woes. However, she chose to back away after the singer couldn't keep his hands to himself.

While it was originally reported that the model was upset that Rihanna continued to stay in touch with her ex-boyfriend, the situation was far more serious than that. According to TMZ, Brown had numerous texts from various girls on his phone that Tran discovered while she was visiting him in rehab.

That was the final nail in the coffin on a relationship that weathered a long love triangle between the "Turn Up the Music" singer, RiRi and Tran. She felt betrayed because she had supported Brown through his latest legal mishaps.

TMZ also reported that outside of the inappropriate texts, Brown was allegedly hooking up with a few girls while he was in rehab. Tran was not aware of this situation until after they broke up in February.

Even though the relationship is over for now, Tran was quoted outside of the West Hollywood hot spot 1 OAK on Wednesday night where she told TMZ cameras, "I support him regardless."

It sounds like Brown might not have a girlfriend in Tran forever, but he sure has a friend.

As for the troubled musician, he was kicked out of rehab and placed in jail. The court has ordered him to remain in prison until April 23 since he failed to complete his anger management course.

When it comes to Spice Girls fandom, Emma Stone is no "Wannabe." The Spider-Man actress revealed she is totally obsessed with the millennial girl band — like, Belieber-level obsessed.

Stone's deep, dark secret came to life during an interview on Australia's 2D FM on a show that Mel B usually co-hosts — and while the former Scary Spice couldn't make it into work that day, she had a special surprise for the superfan actress nonetheless.

"Wait, Mel B, could have been here?" Stone said when the news of the singer's absence was broken to her, voice cracking and eyes filling with tears. "I'm gonna cry."

Suddenly a voice came over the airwaves: Scary Spice saying "Hi Emma!"

Cue Stone totally freaking out. "Oh my god, is Mel B talking to me?" she said as she began sobbing, for real. "Oh my god, I'm so excited. I'm legitimately crying. I'm the biggest Spice Girls fan ever."

"First of all, I want to say I absolutely adore you," Mel B replied. "I love you. And I want to say thank you for being such a Spice Girl fan. But my question to you is, why did you like Baby Spice and not me more?"

She was referring to a confession by Stone in Entertainment Weekly that Baby Spice is actually her favorite Spice Girl, not Scary.

Reports surfaced recently that the case into Kurt Cobain's death was going to be reopened by authorities, but Seattle police have slammed the rumors on Thursday, March 19, saying it isn't so.

When a report from Seattle radio station KIRO 7 claimed that police would be reexamining the Cobain case, the news spread like wildfire, The Washington Post claims. The station prompted listeners to tune in to that night's news at 11:00 p.m. for more information, saying that police had obtained certain new photographs related to the case.

KIRO later tweeted messages about the news and said a detective on the case told the station's managing editor he had reopened the case himself. After that, the news made it to Gawker, Fox News and others, causing an avalanche of tweets in response.

However, police have now confirmed that the reports were indeed just rumors and a case reopening is not happening at all.

"No, we have not reopened the Kurt Cobain case," Police spokeswoman Detective Renee Witt told The Washington Post.

A detective from the cold case division was examining the details in the Cobain case files because the anniversary of the singer's suicide is next month, Witt added. In the files, the detective found some old undeveloped film that contained already released photos, but in better quality.

"No change, no developments, no new leads," Witt continued, and said that all the reports claiming that the case was going to be reopened were "very, very incorrect."

Meanwhile, Gawker has changed their article to say the case was being reexamined and not reopened, while Fox news still hadn't changed its reporting as of The Washington Times' posting time.

The photos acquired by the cold case detective may be later posted on the Seattle Police Deparment's blog.

VIDEO: Louis C.K.'s theory wrong — Bradley Cooper is famous

Sorry, Louis C.K, you are definitely wrong on this one. In a trending post on BuzzFeed, the site points out a 2009 interview the comedian did with The Stephen Merchant Show where he pontificates about the Bravo TV show Inside The Actors Studio.

He shared, "You know when an actor stands up one of the people in the audience and says 'I am an actor, what can I do?' and asks Sean Penn or whoever 'What can I do to reach your level of whatever?' And you just wanna say 'That's it! You never will be famous.' There's no way you ask Sean Penn and question and then you're going to be huge."

Louie takes a break until summer 2014 >>

Perhaps that theory holds true for a majority of the students sitting in the studio audience, but Bradley Cooper is proving him wrong. In 1999, the two-time Oscar-nominated actor asked a question of Penn himself.

Cooper said, "My name's Bradley Cooper and I'm a second-year actor. My question is regarding Hurly Burly. What was it like to revisit a character, Eddie, after a 10-year hiatus? Did you have new discoveries? Did you find it was a new approach because you had already done this character before?"

Kind but hard to house-train, the breed is an excellent addition to active families.

A loving and cuddly breed, the Norwegian Lundehund loves people of all ages and sizes and being very close to them. Kind, he is likely to love with all that he has. Requiring a yard to play and romp in, the breed is not ideal for apartment life. A natural-born hunter, the Lundie enjoys sniffing things out and is easy to groom. The breed does have an incredibly hard time becoming housebroken and will require a lot of patience and intelligent training. In addition, a Lundie needs a human who is able to provide leadership and discipline to avoid behavioral problems. In need of a lot of socializing, he is a watchdog and barker.

A dream day in the life of a Norwegian Lundehund

Given the opportunity, the Norwegian Lundehund would wake up next to his owner and stay in bed with her all day. But if this is not an option, the dog will instead poke around the house looking for affection and play. After a few fun games of fetch, he'll head outside for a romp. Sniffing out any questionable smells, this natural-born hunter may chase a bird or two. As the day ends, the Norwegian Lundehund will love more cuddles and play before snoozing off to dreamland with his best friend at his side.

Hot chile grilled cheese

I love satisfying a craving in a nontraditional way. Mexican is something I crave a lot but there's not really any great Mexican restaurant nearby to help out. A recent chili relleno craving spurred the idea of deconstructing the popular Mexican dish and creating a grilled cheese with some of the typical ingredients. I still missed the endless guacamole and chips to start, but this spicy, cheesy sandwich definitely kicked that craving to the curb.

Chili relleno grilled cheese sandwich recipe

Yields 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 poblano pepper
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup grated cheese (cheddar, pepper jack or Monterey Jack)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pickled jalapeño, seeded and chopped

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to high broil. Place top rack in the upper third of the oven. Once hot, place whole pepper directly on the rack and broil until the skin is charred and blackened on all sides, about 10 minutes, turning every few minutes. Place pepper in a bag, seal and let sit for 10 minutes. Remove from bag, peel the outer skin off, slice in half, remove the seeds and set aside.
  2. Heat a small skillet over medium heat and add oil.
  3. Beat egg and milk in a small bowl and add to skillet once hot.
  4. Fold the sides of the egg in to create a rectangular shape, flip and cook on the other side until cooked through. Turn heat off and set aside.
  5. Butter 1 side of each slice of bread.
  6. Place the pepper on the non-buttered side of 1 slice of bread, top with egg then grated cheese and chopped jalapeño. Place the other slice of bread on top, buttered side up.
  7. Heat the skillet over medium heat, place the sandwich in the pan and cook for about 3 minutes per side, pressing down on the top with a spatula to help brown the bread and melt the cheese.
  8. Remove from skillet, slice and serve warm.

Woman gets slap on the wrist for sex with 8-year-old

When a judge in the U.K. sentenced 21-year-old Loren Morris with only 12 months of prison time, he said, "I have come to the conclusion that due to the concern and embarrassment caused to both you and your family that you will not be offending again." By the sounds of that, you'd think the young mother had been sentenced for vandalism or theft. Her crime? Morris raped a child over 50 times. The abuse started when the victim was only 8 years old and Morris was 16, and continued for two years.

Having sex is something you do when you're capable of consent

"Loren Morris raped a child, and there's no reason to soften the blow of that statement."

This case has been referred to as a young woman having sex with a boy. An 8-year-old boy, regardless of whether or not he's bragged about it, is not capable of consenting to sexual intercourse. I have an 8-year-old son. He isn't capable of remembering to bring his lunch box onto the bus. He has trouble discerning lies from truth. He believes in the tooth fairy. He's a child. Loren Morris raped a child, and there's no reason to soften the blow of that statement.

This wasn't a love affair

While asking the judge to spare her a prison sentence entirely, Morris' defense attorney said, "Her immaturity at 21 means she cannot accept the facts yet." If a 21-year-old mother is supposedly too immature to face reality, why is an 8-year-old boy being portrayed as a willing partner in an underage sex affair? Now 14, the boy was overheard bragging about what Morris had done to him. We shouldn't be taking cues from a teen's distorted point of view on sexual abuse. We absolutely cannot afford to view child rape through a romanticized lens simply because a female perpetrator abused a male victim.

Why are we sympathizing with the perpetrator of a heinous crime?

Loren Morris doesn't look like the sex offenders that show up on online directories — but that shouldn't change the way she's treated. While she was 16 at the time of her crime, what she did was just as damaging and heinous as what those stereotypical sex offenders have done. Morris now has a child of her own — and that doesn't erase her crime. Nor is it some kind of insurance against Morris taking inappropriate interest in a child again in the future. The judge acknowledged Morris' embarrassment while failing to weigh in on the long-lasting trauma she caused a young boy while raping him repeatedly over the span of two years. An adult who raped a child will walk out of jail in 12 months. Where's the justice in that?

Could you be subject to tax penalties under the Affordable Care Act?

Woman doing taxes

The tax man cometh

If you're an individual who's responsible for your own health insurance, the tax implications of the Affordable Care Act could hit you as early as your 2014 return. Do you know what to do?

The Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare) doesn't just provide more affordable health insurance for those who can't afford it, it levies some pretty stiff penalties on those who don't have it. But there's a lot of confusion and misinformation about just what's going to happen and who it will affect.

Why the penalty?

As John Green of Mental Floss so eloquently explained in his video dispelling myths about the high costs of health care in the U.S., those who don't have health insurance still have to get medical care, and often, they're only able to access that care from expensive facilities (like emergency rooms), so if and when they don't pay the exorbitant bill, our tax dollars go toward not only paying for their care, but for the cost of trying to collect. To offset that inequality and encourage people to have coverage, a penalty was written into the law that basically means you'll pay for it one way or another. Whether or not you think this penalty is fair, it's now the law, so you should understand how it works.

What are the penalties?

The amount of your penalty depends on who in your household isn't covered and their age. Under the individual mandate, in 2014, you'll pay $95 per uncovered adult and $47.50 per uncovered child or 1 percent of your total household income, whichever is greater, up to a maximum that's equal to the national average premium for the least expensive ("bronze") plan available on the exchange website. The penalty will increase in 2015 to 2 percent and again in 2016 to 2.5 percent. The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates that in 2016, the penalty will be about $5,000 for a person and $12,000 for a family. It will continue to increase based on the rate of inflation.

You'll be assessed the penalty on your taxes if you don't have health insurance by March 31, 2014, and those taxes will be assessed for each month you don't have health insurance, so if you get it by May 30, you'll only be penalized for two months.

Is there any way around it?

As with all things related to taxes, there are exceptions. If you would pay more than 8 percent of your household income toward health coverage, you're exempt. You're also exempt if your income is below the filing threshold of $9,750 for an individual and $27,100 for a family of four (as of 2012).

But there's also a hardship exemption. This exemption, however, is made on a case-by-case basis and ruled through the marketplace. If it's determined that you suffered some kind of hardship that prevented you from getting coverage, you may be exempt from the coverage requirement, and therefore, exempt from the taxes (at least in 2014). This also applies to people whose coverage was cancelled as a result of the law.

There's also a short coverage gap exemption. Basically, you're still required to have insurance by March 31, but if after that you have a gap in coverage of no more than three consecutive months, you'll be exempt from the penalty. Additionally, if you fail to sign up by March 15, your insurance won't go into effect until May 1, and there's a special exemption for that.

Other exempt parties:

  • Those who are members of recognized sects that have a religious beliefs that reject health care
  • Members of federally recognized Indian tribes
  • Those who are incarcerated
  • Those who are part of a recognized health care sharing ministry
  • Those who were already covered by plans that don't meet the Obamacare requirements (until 2016), though states can force companies to cease making those plans available

You should be aware that you have to have qualifying insurance in place, not just any insurance. So make sure your plan meets the minimum requirements of the ACA. The easiest way to do that is to purchase your insurance through the government-provided marketplace.

Should I sign up?

Yes! Because most people who use the marketplace will qualify for a hardship discount of some kind, it's probably going to be cheaper to at least have a bronze plan than to pay the penalties. Even if it's not, why pay the penalties and get nothing out of it?

As Michael Mahoney, senior VP of consumer marketing at GoHealth notes, "If you don't qualify for an exemption, you are required by law to enroll in a health insurance plan or pay the tax penalty. The law does not offer additional leniency. The cost of the tax penalty is consistent across the country: 1 percent of your household income or $95 per adult ($47.50 per child). This fee increases to 2 percent next year and 2.5 percent the following years, so the need to select the right plan or be penalized isn't going away — it's becoming greater each year."

Johnny Weir announced his split from husband Victor Voronov via Twitter on Wednesday. It doesn't look like the two estranged spouses are going to stop the endless social media spat anytime soon.

On Thursday, more tweets were sent out to their followers as Weir told his side to Billy Bush, host of Access Hollywood, and Voronov hired a legal crisis manager to handle his affairs.

From the messages being sent out today, the marriage is over and no reconciliation is planned on either side. It started off rather nicely with the former Olympian's tweet about love.

The NBC commentator then confirmed he will be talking about it publicly with Bush.

On the other side of the fence, Voronov not only unlocked his private social media account, but he expressed how stunned he was by the divorce announcement.

The lawyer then added the shocking news that a divorce had been in the works for months, unbeknownst to him.

If that wasn't enough, Weir's mother, Patti Weir, jumped into the fray with a cryptic tweet late on Wednesday.

According to TMZ, the couple do not have a prenup agreement, so it could be an ugly battle in the upcoming divorce proceedings.
