Johansson as Leigh on cover of V

Scarlett Johansson discusses her role as Janet Leigh, playing alongside Anthony Hopkins in the upcoming film Hitchcock.

Scarlett Johannson is fully in character as Janet Leigh for the upcoming film Hitchcock — so much so that V Magazine decided to dedicate their cover shot to a Leigh-inspired shower scene re-enactment.

Beyond the stellar snapshot, Johansson sat down for an in-depth interview to discuss her role, working with Anthony Hopkins and even her personal sex appeal and her upcoming role on broadway.

We can't tell you everything, but V passed on some of the interview, and we'd like to share!

V: About shooting the iconic shower scene

Johansson: "We only had the luxury to shoot the scene for a day, and everybody was feeling very nervous because it involved water, and nobody wants the actor to get wet. They were concerned with modesty and all these things — but I don't care about any of that stuff, and Janet Leigh never did either. You have got to be brave, get into the shower, and face Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock jabbing you in the face with a 12-inch kitchen knife, you know..."

V: About her sex appeal

J: "I think all little girls are aware of their sex appeal, I think probably more so when they're pubescent. I mean, I remember being an extremely flirtatious little girl. I liked boys. I think I was also inspired by certain films I watched when I was a girl. I loved Judy Garland, and I loved these Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, and I had this idea of romance — the dream girl getting the dream guy — and all that stuff."

V: About her upcoming Broadway performance in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

J: "It's just that the last time I found my way onto Broadway, it was such a fresh and amazing experience... For this play, it's going to be hard to live that many weeks in a state of embarrassment and regret and self-loathing and desperation and all the things the character has gone through. To live that eight times a week for two hours each time, and then all of a sudden, Monday comes around and you find the theater closed — you say to yourself, 'Oh, what is different about today? Oh, right, I haven't been in an emotional turmoil for 24 hours.' So, I get a break from this, like, pulling at whatever you can to get where you need to go in the moment. I think it's just not a natural state to be in, to constantly dig up what stirs and disturbs you and air it all out for everyone to see, so to speak. So the preparation for such a project is like you have to have a huge surgery or something, and you're going to be out of commission for six months. It's a big pill to swallow — a big, wonderful pill."

For more on the interview and behind-the-scenes insight to everything Hitchcock and Johansson, be sure to check out the newest issue of V Magazine, which hits the newsstands Nov. 15.

And go see the film in theaters Nov. 23!

Country singer Sammy Kershaw involved in tour bus accident

The country singer's tour bus was hit by a car last week. His crew was "shaken" but not injured, but it reminded Kershaw how lucky we all are to be alive.

Sammy Kershaw

Country singer Sammy Kershaw feels thankful to be alive after his tour bus was in a bad accident with another vehicle on Friday in Texas.

The bus was actually hit by the car, which caused "major damage to the bus," said the Associated Press.

The car involved was totaled, and its driver was sent to the hospital. Kershaw and nine of his crew members were on the bus at the time.

Kershaw said they were "shaken and sore" but not seriously hurt.

"We got hit on the side of the tour bus, mainly towards the front end... I mean, it could have turned out really bad," Kershaw told E! News. "We were all very lucky, including the lady that hit us. All the [air] bags deployed. She had to go to the hospital, but none of my guys did. We were all pretty sore but OK."

Kershaw said he heard that the woman ended up with a badly broken ankle and a face bruised from the air bag impact, but he knows it could have been a much worse situation than it was.

"Buses and cars can be replaced, but people can't," Kershaw told the Associated Press.

Kershaw also said he was thankful that no one died and that his crew was OK, but after the accident, he feels he has "a guardian angel."

Kershaw is still going, though, and he has decided to continue on his regular tour schedule. His next show is on Friday in Cambridge, Maryland, and his current tour ends in December. He goes out on the road again starting in March and will be playing many dates in California and the South.

Country music fans would best remember Kershaw from his 1990s hits, including "She Don't Know She's Beautiful" and "I Can't Reach Her Anymore." According to the Associated Press, the singer has sold over 5 million albums.

Denzel Washington's movie Flight hits some turbulence

Anheuser-Busch is not impressed with its brand's portrayal in the latest Denzel Washington movie.

BudweiserwantsoutofDenzelmovieDenzel Washington's new movie, Flight, is receiving critical acclaim from audiences and movie reviewers, but there are a few people who are not so pleased with the film.

The film was released last week, and it features a pilot who miraculously lands his plane after a midair incident. The passengers all survive, and the pilot is deemed a hero, yet Washington's character is hiding an addiction to alcohol.

On Wednesday, the vice president of Budweiser, Rob McCarthy, spoke about his displeasure with the movie's depiction of Washington's character using the beer brand while he is behind the wheel.

In a public statement, McCarthy said, "We would never condone the misuse of our products and have a long history of promoting responsible drinking and preventing drunk driving. We have asked the studio to obscure the Budweiser trademark in current digital copies of the movie and on all subsequent adaptations of the film, including DVD, On Demand, streaming and additional prints not yet distributed to theaters."

The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Neither the director nor the studio had any comment as of press time.

The film also features Washington's character using other alcoholic beverage brands, including Smirnoff, Stolichnaya and Absolut . It seems that not a single brand was licensed for the film, as William Grant & Sons, which distributes Stoli, told USA Today that it did not give permission to the filmmakers and probably would not have if they had asked.

In terms of legal issues, the movie studios have won in situations where they were sued over the unauthorized, on-screen use of brands. The use of brands is protected by the courts, even if the label isn't portrayed in a positive light.

It will be interesting to see how Paramount responds to Anheuser-Busch's demand that it keep Budweiser's brand out of the movie and thus help it maintain its squeaky-clean image as the "King of Beers."

Stacey Dash writes rational rant over Obama's win

Stacey Dash didn't vote for President Barack Obama, but she's still going to support him.

Stacey Dash writes letter about election

Former Single Ladies actress Stacey Dash received death threats and all sorts of nasty messages when she came out in support of Mitt Romney for president earlier this fall. We wouldn't have blamed her if the whole experience had turned her into a bitter right-winger. That's definitely not the case, though. The actress wrote a 1,344-word open letter to TMZ that talked about the reasons she voted for President Obama in 2008 — and why she opted for Romney in 2012.

Stacey Dash is officially single & ready to mingle >>

"I freely admit that presidential politics was not something I had much time for before the 2000 election. With Gore and Bush fighting [it] out to the last hanging chad, it was an experience that made me turn even further away from politics," she wrote before alluding to the threats sent by Internet tough guys.

"At the end of the day, we are in this together. This is Our American Family. I do not want to be a part of the hateful voices insulting each other. I want to be a part of the voices that help shape the future. Don't you? Perhaps I publicly endorsed Romney from a slightly naive place, thinking that I could speak my voice without being criticized in such racially charged and hateful tones.

"People get it wrong. My vote for Romney isn't a vote against Obama. That's not how full participants in the democratic process operate. We vote for candidates, and we vote for issues.

"I voted for the Romney ticket because I was inspired by their promises of working tirelessly to create a strong economy as their first objective. I have other issues that are close to my heart, like equality and women's rights and the benefits of strong public schools. I realize, on these issues, I'm entirely progressive. There are plenty of moderate Republicans who feel exactly the way I do on these issues. I don't think we have to trade one for the other. The main objective of our nation must be repairing the economy. All our social concerns must come after this. Without a stable economy, our great nation falls.

"Ultimately, I know that what Stacey Dash thinks about who will be the next president of the United States isn't that important in the scheme of things — but I feel a desperation for the country. The fact is that when the two parties are not working together, it makes things worse!"

The bulk of the letter was written before the election ended, though she added a postscript congratulating the president on four more years.

Stacey Dash can't understand the Mitt Romney fury >>

"President Obama has been re-elected. I congratulate him. No, he was not my choice, but he was the choice of the majority of our country. I do respect and appreciate that the country came together to make a choice. So for that, I applaud Americans," she wrote.

"Although I am disappointed that Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan did not win, I am hopeful that President Obama will lead us to becoming the great UNITED STATES OF AMERICA that thrives."

Level-headed discourse — imagine that! Take note, Donald Trump.

Tom Bergeron will be on DWTS "til they drag me... screaming"

The TV host only feels comfortable in front of a camera. But Bergeron said he actually suffers from social anxiety, so people get the wrong idea about him when he's out in public.

Tom Bergeron

It's hard to believe, but this season of Dancing with the Stars is the show's 15th since it began in 2005, and Tom Bergeron has been there since the very beginning. The host says he knows reality shows don't last forever, so he is just trying to enjoy it while it lasts.

"[I'll host] 'til they drag me kicking and screaming off the set," he told Access Hollywood, according to Yahoo! "Look, all shows, someday, come to an end. So, I'm just bankin' it and having a ball."

Bergeron is completely at home on TV, also being the host of America's Funniest Home Videos and having hosted Hollywood Squares for six years. But he told Access Hollywood hosts Kit Hoover and Billy Bush that he feels most awkward when there are no cameras around.

"[I'm] perfectly fine [on TV]," he said. "Twenty million people? It's like I've got bedroom slippers on... In real-life situations is when [I get nervous]."

Anyone who has watched DWTS knows Bergeron has no problem speaking to the camera, but he said it's in the more intimate situations in life when things are different for him.

"It's like my wiring is different," he said, according to Yahoo! "My wife and I will go to a cocktail party, and she'll make 40 new friends, and I'll be looking at my shoes."

The host worries that his anxiety and shyness may be misleading for people who see him out in public, but he says there is a simple explanation for the way he acts.

"People probably think I'm just stuck up. I'm not; I'm just weird!" he joked.

Bergeron has won both a Daytime Emmy Award and a Primetime Emmy Award for his different roles. He currently hosts Dancing with the Stars: All Stars, on ABC.

Billy Ray Cyrus leaks Miley's wedding details

The famous dad was talking about his daughter and her wedding, but he may have spilled the details she has worked so hard to keep quiet.

Billy Ray Cyrus

Since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced their engagement, they have stayed relatively quiet about any wedding plans, to the point that it seemed like they hadn't begun planning it yet. But Cyrus' dad, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, gave some of the details after a show this week, but only while telling of a joke he made to his daughter's future husband.

"Liam asked if he could have my daughter's hand in marriage, and I said yes, if I could be in his brother's next movie," Billy Ray told Us Weekly, referring to Hemsworth's brother Chris, star of Thor.

But Billy Ray also mentioned that the couple has decided to tie the knot three different times, which means he might be able to walk his daughter down the aisle three different times as well, which might mean more movie action for him.

"Now, they are going to have three weddings, so I'm thinking one movie with Chris, then we got the sequel to Liam's new movie [The Hunger Games: Catching Fire] coming out," he said. "They have got three weddings; that has to be three movies for me."

The couple has not announced where the weddings might take place, but according to the Huffington Post, the logical locations would be her hometown of Nashville, his hometown in Australia and their current city of residence, Los Angeles.

The "Achy Breaky Heart" singer also shared a story about watching Indianapolis Colts football coach Chuck Pagano make a speech that made Miley's upcoming nuptials all too real to him.

"During the halftime, he told his team he wanted another Super Bowl trophy and he had two daughters he wanted to walk down the aisle," Cyrus shared with Us Weekly. "When I saw that last night, this guy that's battling leukemia, and the fact that he is talking to his team saying, 'I want to hoist that trophy and walk my daughters down the aisle,' I immediately texted Miley and said, 'I just want you to know, whenever you're ready, I'm going to be very proud to walk you down that aisle.' She was like, 'Daddy!' with two smiley faces! That coach and that moment touched me."

There is still no word on a wedding date, but it looks like things are finally moving forward for the couple.

Did The Civil Wars just break up?

The band blamed the cancellations on "internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition." They didn't say much else but wanted to apologize to their fans.

The Civil Wars

The Civil Wars have always seemed to be the opposite of the name they gave themselves, but it looks like that's no longer true. The band canceled the remainder of their current tour on Tuesday, sparking speculation that they may no longer be a band.

"We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret," the band posted on their Facebook page Nov. 7. "However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition, we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support."

The band is comprised of only two members, Joy Williams and John Paul White, but they didn't mention whether the fight was only between the two of them.

"Williams and White are both married, but to other people," said the Associated Press. "Williams had a baby this summer with husband Nate Yetton, the duo's manager."

The band added that they hope to have new music out in 2013, possibly in an attempt to dispel rumors that they may be breaking up. But only time will tell if they get back together long enough to make that music. Williams and White seemed genuinely sorry for having to miss the dates, and they took the extra step of offering their fans a refund for any extra fees.

"We understand that there are many of you stuck with service charges and travel reservations due to our abrupt cancelations," they told their fans. "Please email us... if there are costs incurred that you would like to be reimbursed for... and we will do our best to reimburse you for nonrefundable charges."

The band won a Grammy Award in 2012 for Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Folk Album, but they may be best known to general audiences for their song "Safe & Sound," with Taylor Swift. The song was featured on the soundtrack for The Hunger Games.

The Vampire Diaries: Guilty, guilty!

Last week's episode got pretty steamy. This week, Elena has to deal with the consequences, the majority of which she seems to heave upon herself!

vampire diaries cast

When we last saw Elena , she'd just snacked on a delightful human and then bloodily danced with Damon at a frat party at a nearby college — all in the name of "learning to be a vampire," of course. The dance scene was filmed in the "shaky cam" technique and was, honestly, a little nauseating. But apparently, it was supposed to be sexy, especially when soundtracked by Calvin Harris' "Feel So Close."

Whatever. Anything involving Damon deserves the "sexy" descriptor, right?

This week, however, Elena has to deal with the consequences of that dance. She's given herself a major guilt trip — or, as Damon likes to call it, a "shame spiral." She still hasn't told Stefan about her dance with his brother.

Should she?

She admits she wasn't in her right mind but that she was "high on blood, like some crackhead."

Of things people do when they're high, dancing together through half a song seems pretty innocent, right? Yet, as always, Elena is still sulking... this time in shame.

Meanwhile, in Mystic Falls, a day can't go by without a do-or-die event. Today, the vampire hunter Connor is at the Grill and holding Jeremy, Matt and April hostage. Stefan and Klaus form an unlikely alliance in order to take down Connor, but will it work? Damon and Stefan disagree on what might be the best thing to do, and that, of course, leaves Elena in the middle — again.

Ariel Winter abuse update: Brother comes to mom's defense

Ariel Winter's brother, Jimmy Workman, says Ariel is lying about the abuse because she got in trouble with her boyfriend.

Ariel Winter's brother denies abuse.

Today, truly horrific and tragic news broke about the physical and emotional abuse allegedly suffered by Modern Family's Ariel Winter at the hands her mother. We learned of Winter's abuse ordeal when sources talked to TMZ and reported that just weeks ago, an emergency hearing was held to determine Ariel's safety.

"Court sources tell us... on Oct. 3, after a guardianship hearing, a judge determined the allegations that Ariel was being physically and emotionally abused by her mother Crystal Workman were serious enough that the judge placed Ariel in a temporary guardianship with her older sister Shanelle Workman," TMZ reported. "Our sources tell us... mama Crystal was ordered to stay 100 yards away from Ariel."

The report cites slapping, hitting and pushing, as well as "vile name-calling, personal insults... and deprivation of food" as just some of the abuse Ariel claims she experienced at the hands of her mother.

Later this evening, however, the Winter family denied all abuse allegations. Ariel's brother, Jimmy Workman, and Ariel's mother both came forward and talked to Entertainment Tonight. Jimmy Workman said his mother is completely innocent of the physical and emotional abuse accusations and said the abuse claims have to do with trouble related to Ariel's older boyfriend.

Modern Family's Ariel Winter is going goth>>

"The allegations are not true. This is stemming over a boy who is overage dating my little sister, my family had no idea about until the end part of it [sic]. It's not true. There's a mother who does everything for her children. So, this is just not right."

When Entertainment Tonight pressed Jimmy on the issue by asking him about the specific abuse allegations made against Ariel Winter's mom, including testimony Ariel's mom slapped her, Jimmy was adamant it was all a lie.

He shook his head and simply proclaimed, "Not true. It's an unfortunate situation."

Jimmy also revealed Ariel refuses to talk to any of her family directly. Instead, she communicates through her attorneys and through her sister Shanelle, with whom she is staying. Ariel's brother also denies the abuse Shanelle reported to police two decades ago.

"Look guys, I was there 20 years ago. I'm 32. That stuff didn't happen. It stems from almost the same situation."

Modern Family's kids mature; Alex "might kiss a boy">>

This situation is awful on all levels, even if Jimmy Workman's claims that the accusations are false and that Ariel Winter cried abuse as a mode of teenage rebellion are true. However, it seems hard to believe that a court would go so far as to remove Ariel from her home unless it had plausible evidence that Ariel was telling the truth about her home environment.

Ariel Winter's mother spoke to People magazine today and also denied the abuse allegations.

"It's all untrue, it's all untrue," she said. "I have my doctor's letter that my daughter's never been abused... I have stylists' letters that she's never been abused."

It's not clear from Ariel's mom's statement whether the doctor in question is a physician or a mental health specialist like a psychologist or psychiatrist.

News of Ariel Winter's abuse shocked the fans of Modern Family, a show that focuses on an unconventional family. Ariel Winter has not yet commented on the abuse claims.

Skyfall may be headed for record-breaking weekend

$

Skyfall is expected to surpass 2008's Quantum of Solace when it opens this weekend, which would make it the highest-grossing first weekend for a James Bond film ever.

Daniel Craig is James Bond in Skyfall

A movie franchise that is now 50 years old, James Bond has held its popularity better than much younger films. This Friday, Skyfall, the newest in the series, will open, and it may be the biggest one yet.

Daniel Craig will be playing 007 for the third time in Skyfall, directed by Sam Mendes. the Hollywood Reporter is predicting the film could hit $70 million over the weekend. The last Bond film, Quantum of Solace, brought in $67.5 million its first weekend out in 2008. And if Skyfall’s opening overseas is any indication, it will at least hit that target.

"Skyfall's prospects are buoyed by its massive showing overseas, where it began rolling out two weeks ago," said the Hollywood Reporter. "The Eon Productions movie, from Sony and MGM, has earned nearly $300 million to date, pacing well ahead of Quantum and Casino Royale in most markets."

The film's studio, Sony, is guessing it will bring in only $67 million, mostly because Hurricane Sandy's destruction has closed some theaters on the East Coast. Online ticket company Fandango is reporting that early ticket sales for the film are already double what Quantum of Solace's were at this point, but Fandango was also much smaller back in 2008, so this may not be a good indicator.

"The critically acclaimed Skyfall opens in IMAX and on other large-format screens at 12:01 a.m. Thursday . It opens everywhere at 12:01 a.m. Friday," said the Hollywood Reporter.

Another film opening in limited release this weekend is the long-awaited Steven Spielberg film Lincoln, starring Daniel Day-Lewis. Even though it opens nationally on Nov. 16, people in 11 lucky cities will be able to see the film this weekend. The early opening is hoping to benefit from this week's presidential election.

Lincoln also stars Sally Field, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tommy Lee Jones.

Cyndi Lauper reveals her uncle died in Hurricane Sandy

The singer performed at a benefit Monday and said her uncle George was one of the victims of the storm. She said her family "just didn’t think it was going to get that bad."

Cyndi Lauper

After the destruction and heartache caused by Hurricane Sandy, many East Coasters have said they didn't evacuate because they just didn't think it would get as bad as it did. One celebrity to suffer the consequences is Cyndi Lauper. The singer spoke at the Lenox Hill Autumn Ball, a benefit for storm victims, on Monday and shared that she lost a family member in the storm.

"I lost my Uncle George in the hurricane," she said, according to the New York Post. "He was old. He didn't want to leave his house. I was in Chicago, and I called and said [to relatives], 'Why did you guys leave him,' and they just didn't think it was going to get that bad."

Lauper's uncle, George Stathis, was 90 years old and was found in his home in the Rockaways, said the NY Post.

The story has been repeated many times after the storm hit. Officials in all the affected states have worked to bring normalcy to their residents, but some people in New York and New Jersey are still without power and resources. Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel was an honoree at the benefit and spoke about the human will to help others.

"We witness a disaster... that left so many families abandoned and abandoning whatever they had," said Wiesel. "If we are not moved by their suffering, how can we even claim to deserve the title of humanity which is ours?"

Lauper also performed at the benefit on Monday, dedicating her song "Time After Time" to her uncle George. The ball happens annually but normally benefits a hospital. The day after, Lauper also shared her thoughts on the election happening Tuesday.

"People, I love ya and hope u aren't suffering because of Sandy, but please vote," she tweeted. "The out come of this election will really effect all of us."

Music review: Kate Earl's "One Woman Army"

$

Kate Earl flatters our ears and ignites our hearts in her first single off her new album and in an exclusive behind-the-scenes music video.

Kate EarlA melting voice from a melting pot

The voice is as unique as the beauty of this artist. Sometimes she sounds innocently country, other times eerie folk-indie, and then I almost hear light-hearted pop. Whatever it is, it is delicate and pure. Gentle and beautiful, her singing style reminds me of Kate Havenik. And it helps that she also is easy on the eyes. An Alaska native, she is of Filipino and Dutch/Welsh descent. When you watch the video below, you will notice a passing resemblance to Jessica Biel or Sarah Shahi .

This particular song exudes a certain '70s vibe . But it was Glamourthat put it perfectly — her music on this album, titled Stronger, is similar to that of Joni Mitchell or Stevie Nicks. In the behind-the-scenes exclusive video , we all get to see the inspiration responsible for the song: her darling 2-year-old son. "One Woman Army" was written for him and is the first single off her new album.

What's stronger than a mother?

Nothing. Speaking of armies, mothers are soldiers aren't they? They fight our battles, make sacrifices, and protect us. That's what makes this song so profound — it's about making an unselfish decision to be fearlessly devoted.

Kate Earl is a mother and a musician. This song exposes the often tough sacrifices and responsibilities mothers face while balancing a thousand different roles. As if motherhood wasn't tough enough, imagine the competition and work ethic needed to make it in music. Beyond that, the video gives us a bird's-eye view into her life while she balances both passions — parenting and singing/songwriting.

Although that may be how the song took root, the lyrics are versatile. It could apply to anyone with fierce beliefs and a drive to persevere to provide loyal companionship to a friend, family member, or loved one:

"Never knew what I was signing up for,
Knew it was hard but not this hardcore,
Never gonna stop, never gonna give up on you."

We hope to hear more and see more of this talented, fresh-faced mother who has already opened the floodgates of respect for her tribute to her beloved child. Fans of unadulterated true talent, honest lyrics, and a tranquil voice will find her music refreshing.

Keep an eye out for new music from her!

Jermaine Jackson name change: I'd like to buy a vowel

Would Jermaine Jackson by any other name sing as sweetly? Prepare to find out, as the older brother of the late Michael Jackson has filed a petition with the state of California requesting a vowel shakeup!

Jermaine Jackson

Jermaine Jackson's name change isn't as much of a shocker as it is a puzzler. Why go through the trouble of filing a petition if there's only one little letter than needs a makeover?

All the same, prepare to soon start referring to Jermaine Jackson as — drumroll please — Jermaine Jacksun.

Prince Michael puts the Jackson family on blast>>

On Tuesday, the 57-year-old, seen here with 12-year-old son Jermajesty Jackson, filed a name-change petition in Los Angeles.

The Jacksun name makeover has been confirmed by the singer's rep, who pointed out, "His actual name has not changed. It's just the spelling; [it's] one letter. It is a personal choice of Jermaine's, and it's not a big deal."

Jackson family visits Gary, Indiana, for Michael's birthday>>

Not only is it not a big deal, but there's a bit of fun with lyrics to be had about the seemingly silly desire to swap an "o" for a "u."

"Phonetically, it changes nothing," the rep added. "It is something he has chosen to do, and it's fair to say that you cannot blame this one on the boogie — you've got to blame it on the sunshine."

"Blame it on the Boogie," get it? Like that song from The Jackson 5. Oh, 1978, I want you back.

No word yet on whether Jermajesty, any of Jermaine's five other children or any of the extended Jackson family members plan to jump on the Jacksun name-change bandwagon as well.

Ellen hosts bachelorette party for Miley Cyrus

Miley is right in the middle of wedding planning, so the talk show host wanted to remind her what it's like to be a future bride, complete with two strippers.

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus appeared on the Ellen Show on Thursday and got the surprise of a lifetime. The soon-to-be bride was given a sort of bachelorette party by the talk show host.

"Cyrus, 19, was focused on telling host [Ellen] DeGeneres about her upcoming wedding when a spark suddenly flew from the corner of the stage," said the NY Daily News. "Startled, Cyrus quipped that she thought the noise was 'a surprise bachelorette party or something.'"

DeGeneres said there was nothing going on and it must be "maintenance." But those maintenance workers ended up being two male strippers. The song "It's Raining Men" played while the former Disney child star said, "Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god."

DeGeneres also asked Cyrus about how the wedding planning was going, which the actress has kept super-secret before now. But Cyrus said the details are taking a lot of time and she didn't realize how long it would take to plan a wedding.

"I'm so focused on my record that I don't want to be between touring and trying to plan all that, and I really didn't realize until I got a wedding planning book what you have to decide on," she said. "Like, I don't care what color the napkins are, to be honest. I really don't care. It's a lot of weird detail. And I don't want to be doing too much and be too crazy and forget about the moment of it all."

But through it all, she has remembered the most important part is the relationship, and the actress knows she has that.

"It has to be perfect," she told DeGeneres, according to the NY Daily News. "It has to be like a soundtrack in a movie. That's the one day that movie crap is real. That romance. That look is the time that you get that... I've been to probably 10, 20 weddings, and I've seen that real look five, six times. It's rare that people just stop to really look the person in the eye and know that this is your life together."

You should expect more from television than just comedy and drama. There's also a whole wealth of music. Maybe not on MTV, of course! But what about PBS, home to Austin City Limits?

Austin City Limits hosted The Civil Wars before they broke up

For a lot of musicians, performing on Austin City Limits is a highlight of their career. It feels even better than winning a Grammy. They go, they perform a half dozen songs in front of their fans, it's filmed and then it's sent out to millions of viewers across the country. For many performers, it's a catalyst to their success, showing them off to people who may never have heard of them. Austin City Limits is already midway through its 38th season, and it's worth noting that it might just be the best yet.

For music fans, the best part of Austin City Limits is the chance to see bands in concert that never head their way or are too expensive to catch live.

Marcus Mumford of Mumford and Sons

Or, in the case of The Civil Wars, it's the chance to see a band perform after they've broken up. The episode currently airing on your local PBS station features Americana artists The Civil Wars performing an entirely accoustic set. If you were hoping to see them live, Austin City Limits may be your only chance — and it's only being aired for a few more days.

PBS celebrates Women Who Rock>>

Up next for Austin City Limits? It recently headed to the Americana Music Awards and will air special performances from the show. Featured artists include Alabama Shakes, Bonnie Raitt, John Hiatt, and Booker T. Jones. Holy cats! Can you imagine how much money it would cost to go see each one of them live?

There's more to come, too. Up ahead there'll be shows by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Delta Spirit, and Steve Martin. Austin City Limits will also be rerunning the episode featuring Mumford and Sons and Flogging Molly! ACL recently played host to Neon Trees and Lupe Fiasco as well. Plus, with recent guests including the likes of Radiohead, that's only the beginning of what's to come in the months and years ahead.

Advice: Spend your November and December nights at home, on your couch and with Austin City Limits.

Is Ashley Judd running for Congress in 2014?

The actress is never shy about sharing her opinions, including her love for the state of Kentucky. So politicians may be counting on her in 2014 to oust the longest-serving senator in state history.

Ashley Judd

With the 2012 elections over, politicians are already looking to the future for their next chance. With Kentucky's longest-serving senator still in his seat, a challenge in the next election would have to come from a formidable opponent. So state Democrats are looking outside the world of politics for that opponent. And in Kentucky, it looks like that opponent may be actress Ashley Judd.

"If you had an Ashley Judd–McConnell race, I think it would be as high profile a race as Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown," Democratic U.S. Rep. John Yarmuth told the Courier-Journal in Louisville.

Senator Mitch McConnell has held his seat in the U.S. Senate for the state of Kentucky since 1985, and he is the Minority Leader of the Senate. But Judd may not be jumping into the race quite yet. She spoke to Us Weekly and stayed very vague on whether she had considered running.

"I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I'm very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let's focus on coming together to keep moving America's families, and especially our kids, forward," the actress said.

But for the Democratic Party in the state, it seems that Judd's name recognition would give them a great chance of finally winning the seat back from the Republican senator, who will be running for his sixth term.

"The money would pour in here as soon as she entered the race," Rep. Yarmuth said.

And as for Sen. McConnell, he doesn't seem too worried. In fact, he told Us Weekly he knows Judd's work and really respects everything she does. And that goes for both her professional and political life.

"Senator McConnell and his wife are big fans of Ashley Judd's movies and appreciate her energy, particularly when it comes to getting young people engaged in the political process," the senator's campaign manager told Us Weekly.

Time will tell whether Judd decides to run, but she'll have to make the decision in the next few months since campaigning will start soon for the 2014 races.

Past James Bond Boys who make us swoon

The famous British spy celebrates his 50th anniversary this year with the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall. To celebrate Bond’s big achievement, we’ve rounded up the six actors who made 007 the iconic man he is today.

Sean Connery

Sean Connery

Oh, Sean Connery — the man who started it all. While Daniel Craig currently dominates the role of James Bond, this Scottish star is one of the most beloved Bond actors. He kicked off the franchise in 1962's Dr. No and starred in five movies before taking a brief hiatus. In 1971, Connery returned as Bond in Diamonds Are Forever and also starred in an unofficial Bond picture, Never Say Never Again. Despite the slew of actors after him, Connery still serves as the ultimate Bond archetype for many fans.

George Lazenby

George Lazenby

Stepping in for Connery in the sixth Bond movie, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, was George Lazenby. The handsome Australian had little acting experience but managed to snag the role as the suave spy for one film in 1969. The youngest of all the Bond actors, Lazenby brings out the secret agent's softer, more vulnerable side.

Roger Moore

Roger Moore

As the third actor in the series, Roger Moore is known for depicting a more humorous and playful Bond. He charmed his way into audiences' hearts and starred in seven James Bond flicks from 1973 to 1985, starting with Live and Let Die. This English playboy was particularly known for his way with the ladies, scoring the most on-screen kisses of all the Bond men.

Timothy Dalton

Timothy Dalton

The classically handsome and chiseled Timothy Dalton inherited the role of the martini-sipping spy in 1987's The Living Daylights. While Moore had played a jovial character, Dalton is known for his serious and intense depiction of 007, which is said to be similar to Bond creator Ian Fleming's concept. The English star only served as Bond twice before calling it quits.

Pierce Brosnan

Pierce Brosnan

Irish star Pierce Brosnan picked up where Dalton left off in the 1995 film Goldeneye, playing a suave and charming Bond in four movies. The actor was originally pegged to take over for Moore but was unable to fulfill his Bond duties because of a conflicting TV obligation. Aside from being recognized for his talent playing James Bond, Brosnan's good looks have landed him fame as one of People magazine's "World's Most Beautiful People" and the title "Sexiest Man Alive."

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig plays the current — and dare we say, the sexiest — James Bond. The English star made his debut in the franchise's 2006 movie, Casino Royale. Despite some initial doubts about the fair-haired actor's ability to portray the traditionally brunette Bond, he's received some serious praise for his acting abilities. Among his supporters is fellow Bond actor Roger Moore, who was quoted as saying that Daniel Craig will go down as "the best Bond in history." We won't argue with that!

Ted Nugent's choice words for election 2012 voters

Everybody's got something to say about the 2012 election, including Ted Nugent. Depending on how you cast your vote this year, you quite possibly could be among those the rocker has classified as a pimp, whore, and/or welfare brat. Isn't that lovely?

Ted Nugent

Ted Nugent's take on the election comes with a few choice insults sprinkled into a verified rant. The rocker, none too happy with Obama being given four more years, not only let loose on the voters who disagreed with him but predicted a dismal future for the country as a whole.

This journey to the center of Ted Nugent's mind comes courtesy of Twitter, where anyone can rant and rave to the world via social media in 140 characters or less.

Ted Nugent's election rant began Wednesday morning with these opening remarks: "Pimps whores & welfare brats & their soulless supporters hav a president to destroy America."

The "Cat Scratch Fever" rocker added roughly an hour later, "What subhuman varmint believes others must pay for their obesity booze cellphones birthcontrol abortions & lives?"

"Goodluk America u just voted for economic & spiritual suicide," Ted Nugent concluded, sounding as though he may be considering separating himself from these United States. "Soulless fools."

One day before the "pimps, whores & welfare brats" took to the polls, the 63-year-old turned to a higher power to plea for Barack Obama not be reelected. On Nov. 6, Ted Nugent tweeted, "Dear God in heaven America vote Mitt Romney Paul Ryan Republican and save America."

So far, no one seems to be taking Ted Nugent's election rant all too seriously. In direct reply to his characterization of Obama voters, one person tweeted simply, "Um, wow."

A second, responding to the "whores" descriptor in particular, replied, "1, we prefer 'hoes.' 2, HAHAAAAHAAAAA."

A third, apparently all too aware other celebrities have also lost their cool over the election, chimed in, "And I thought Trump was bad..."

Timothy Dalton also calls Daniel Craig the best Bond ever

Timothy Dalton, who played the secret agent in the 1980s, feels the new movies are much better than the past couple of incarnations of Bond, James Bond.

Timothy Dalton

With Skyfall opening nationwide this week, many people have been talking about the James Bond franchise and the many men who've played the secret agent in the past 50 years. Sir Roger Moore already said he felt Daniel Craig might be the best James Bond ever, and it looks like another former James Bond might agree with him.

"There's a case to be made that Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever, or at least in a very long time," Timothy Dalton told Steven Zeitchik with the Los Angeles Times. "With Roger Moore it was a pastiche that almost became a parody at the end. And with Pierce [Brosnan], I think he wanted to go darker and deeper but that wasn't what those movies were."

Dalton, however, did not mention himself or Sean Connery in that scenario, as well as all other "pre-Moore Bonds," according to Zeitchik.

Dalton admitted he has not yet seen Skyfall, but he did see the past two films with Craig: Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. He said Craig's portrayal showed a spirit that the recent Bonds didn’t have, as well as echoing the early Bond films.

"Daniel Craig's Bond movies are absolutely modern, up-to-date versions, but they're also the legitimate heir of Dr. No and From Russia With Love," he said.

Dalton starred in two James Bond films in the 1980s, but the studio decided the character needed a change after releasing Licence to Kill. The film was not well received by critics, and Dalton said it was probably too dark for audiences at the time. But he misses the character and knows how fun it is to be involved with the franchise.

"James Bond is in everybody's heart, so everybody has an opinion about it," he told Zeitchik. "I understand that, but it's different from working on any other movie."
