Did Aretha Franklin bolt on Obama's fundraiser?

$

Aretha Franklin's firing back at reports that she left Thursday's fundraising dinner for President Barack Obama early. Saying TMZ "never has the facts right," the Queen of Soul updates the evening's schedule and even tells us what food they served.

Aretha Franklin

Did Aretha Franklin show President Barack Obama some R-E-S-P-E-C-T by sticking around his Manhattan fundraiser on Thursday evening? Or did the Queen of Soul eyeball the exit after 20 minutes, as was previously reported by TMZ?

Calling it “The $40,000 Eat-And-Run,” TMZ claims Franklin bolted the dinner held at actress Sarah Jessica Parker’s New York City abode, saying Franklin was “the first to arrive … [but] also the first to leave.”

Normally, few would care about the comings and goings of the rich and famous at an upscale political brouhaha. But Franklin received such criticism for allegedly dissing President Obama that the singer finally shot back.

“I arrived at 5 o’clock and I did not leave the fundraiser until around 7:15,” Franklin told the political Web site Politico, saying that TMZ “never has the facts right” and that she “had a wonderful time” but had “a second appointment at the Songwriters Hall of Fame.”

Not that there weren’t plenty of other A-list celebrities in attendance at the event. Oscar winner Meryl Streep, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and Parker joined Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama at the event, which cost attendees $40,000 a plate.

The uproar over Franklin’s departure from Obama’s event seems silly, in hindsight. As most of you likely remember, the singer was hand-picked by the President to sing at his inauguration ceremony in 2009.

As for the dinner, even if Franklin only stayed for a few minutes, she lingered long enough to know what they served, telling TMZ, “They had something very gourmet — it was a chicken that had different accents of color, tomato and something that looked like a mustard sauce under the chicken. I didn’t get a chance to taste it.”

Probably because she left so early.

Bachelorette’s Arie: "I take a big risk this week and break the rules"

Bachelorette's front runner Arie Luyendyk lets us in on what to expect on next week's episode.

Arie, The Bachelorette

On last week’s episode of The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard got pretty upset at her suitors after only Doug told her what a d-bag Kalon was. One person who took the brunt of her unhappiness was front-runner Arie Luyendyk.

Emily Maynard furious with Arie Luyendyk >>

The 30-year-old Arizona race car driver told SheKnows this week that he goes above and beyond on next week’s episode to prove his feelings and support for Emily and make amends for disappointing her.

“I take a big risk this week and I break the rules,” said Arie.

Still, Arie defended his decision to not tell Emily what he had heard about Kalon, saying that he only learned of the “baggage” comment moments before that night’s taping.

“I really didn’t feel like it was my place to say anything at that point,” he said.

From joking about “his fiancé” to alluding to the possibility of going home, Arie wouldn’t let on to the results of his “big risk.”

“The storyline this week really turns things up emotionally,” Arie added. “This is definitely a turning point for me this week.”

When questioned whether he would consider becoming that next Bachelor, should he not receive the final rose, Arie toyed with our curiosity.

“Who knows what happens,” Arie laughed. “If I am engaged to Emily, I don’t think it would be possible for me to be the next Bachelor.”

We’ll have to wait until Monday to find out Arie’s strategy to make amends, and whether it works, but he did share his current feelings for the Bachelorette.

“My feelings are still as strong as they were then,” said Arie.

Arie's pal thinks he's the perfect match for Emily >>

He adds that their date to Dollywood was, “the best date of my life.”

And as for rumors that Arie dated a producer on the show, the race car driver says that all of that is discussed and cleared up on the show.

Tune in to ABC Monday night at 8/7 c. to see what happens next with Arie and Emily!

Easy gel mani/pedis

Gorgeous color that lasts for weeks is easy to achieve at home with gel nail polish for perfect mani/pedis!

Having a beautiful manicure and pedicure is a little luxury that finishes your look, but often women simply don't have the time or feel comfortable with the expense of regular salon appointments for the upkeep necessary to maintain their nails perfectly. Enter gel nail polish.

These smart new formulas for home manicures are easy to use and deliver gorgeous, glossy color that lasts without chipping. Best of all, you can do the manicure yourself for a fraction of the salon cost and get flawless results!

Ready, set, sensational

Prep your nails as you would for any manicure — remove cuticles and clean hands and nails to get rid of any oils and build-up of lotions. Gently buff each nail until they are no longer shiny — this helps the gel polish stick to the nail to ensure a longer-lasting manicure. Don't over-buff as it will weaken your nails. Wash your hands to remove residue from the buffing. When applying the color, always avoid the cuticles so the polish doesn't lift away as the cuticle begins to grow out.

Looking for more ways to update your manicure? Check out these cool nail designs before heading to the salon.

What color will you choose?

Try the salon-favorite OPI brand for their iconic colors in the new gel formula. These deliver intense shine with a fast application and quick curing time. Much like a normal manicure, you will apply a base coat before the color, then sweep on the first coat of gel color — sealing the nail tip by extending the color past it. Allow a minute of drying time for each nail under an LED light. These drying lights are inexpensive to purchase at a beauty supply store or online, and are a good investment for women who will be doing home gel applications. By the time you've applied color to the second hand, the nails on the first hand will by dry and ready for the last coat of color. Give your nails two coats of color on top of the base, and let the color cure for a full minute with each application. Many women finish off with a clear top coat, again allowing nails to cure and dry.

No more chips!

You now have gorgeous color that dries hard as plastic and doesn't chip! There's no sitting around waiting for your color to dry only to smudge or smear a freshly-painted nail as you fumble for your keys or a credit card. The shine is brilliant and your gel color should last up to three weeks.

By choosing an OPI color, you'll also have the option to touch up nails as they grow out with a coordinating nail color in their regular line. These gels are really easy to apply and are self-leveling for smooth results. When you want to remove them, they soak off in as little as 15 minutes.

Quick tip

Take time when applying to start as close to your cuticle as possible -- carefully, with no gel on the skin so any regrowth will be less visible and your manicure looks fresh longer.

Relax, everyone: Lindsay Lohan is fine

Paramedics were called to Lindsay Lohan's Marina Del Rey hotel room on Friday morning when she wouldn't wake up for filming. Find out what happened.

Lindsay Lohan found unconscious

Is Lindsay Lohan going down the same drug-addled path she was on before? It sure seemed like it: First there was the questionable car accident, then paramedics were called to her hotel room Friday morning in Marina Del Rey when a production assistant for her film, Liz & Dick, couldn't wake her up.

False alarm: Turns out she was just tired after a long few days of filming.

"Lindsay has been working a grueling schedule for the last couple of days," Lohan's rep, Steve Hoenig, told E! News. "Last night she worked from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. She was exhausted and went back to her room to sleep. Producers were apparently concerned and called the fire department and paramedics found her sleeping but determined that she was fine, just extremely exhausted and slightly dehydrated."

"She is on her way home now to rest and will be back on set later today."

Uh, we'd be tired too. This is one time we actually believe Lohan — even though she's used the "exhaustion" excuse in the past, it seems like she's really just tired.

Part of her exhaustion might stem from her worry over extensive nude scenes she'll be required to do in another film, The Canyons, co-starring porn star James Deen.

"Lindsay and her team are concerned about the nudity that is involved," a source told RadarOnline. "Lindsay would be required to do full frontal nudity, and the sex scenes are very, very graphic."

"Yes, Lindsay has posed nude for Playboy, but doing it in a movie is completely different. Lindsay needs to make sure that she is comfortable with it, and that this is something she can handle as an artist."

The Canyons is about "five twentysomethings' quest for power, love, sex and success in 2012 Hollywood," director and screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis said of the film, according to IndieWire.

Deen will play Christian, a "trust fund kid, power player and major manipulator, who is a film producer that enjoys filming his own three-way sex sessions." Lohan is slated to play Tara, his former model girlfriend who "has sold her pride for the material comforts Christian can provide."

Let's hope she takes a couple of days off between filming, though.

Is MTV reality TV bad for children?

The stars of MTV’s most popular reality TV shows are pregnant, intoxicated or incarcerated. Experts help you find teachable moments when watching reality TV with your kids.

The stars of MTV’s most popular reality TV shows are pregnant, intoxicated or incarcerated. Experts help you find teachable moments when watching reality TV with your kids.

Reality TV is not real

Allow it… a little

“Handle ‘junk TV’ the way you handle junk food: in moderation — once a week, for example,” says doctor of psychology and hypnotherapist Nancy Irwin. “Let them know that these shows are a fun, mindless treat now and then.”

As you watch with your child, ask them questions such as, “Do you know anyone at school who deals with these issues?” or “What do you think about teen pregnancy?” It’s a great way to open a dialogue on important topics.

“Let them know that you struggled with your thoughts about these issues when you were a teen too,” added Dr. Irwin.

Is your child watching too much TV? >>

Be curious with your kids

“Most kids are just curious,” explains Dr. John Duffy, author of The Available Parent. You can be curious, too, about why your child finds the shows so enthralling.

“Attempt to be non-judgmentally curious about your child’s interest in the show. You may gain some insight into the workings of your child’s mind.

Adolescent and family psychotherapist Dr. Fran Walfish, author of The Self-Aware Parent, agrees. “Parents are more likely to be heard, or even embraced, if they present themselves as curious observers,” says Dr. Walfish. “Watching TV together presents a gold chance to connect through talking, and talking is the glue that holds relationships together.”

Define “reality”

“Explain to children that these shows, although called ‘reality TV,’ do not reflect real life,” says Walter Meyer, author of Rounding Third. “The shows are highly edited and somewhat scripted and directed.”

Remind your kids that some people will do anything — degrade and embarrass themselves — for their 15 minutes of fame. “If you want fame or fortune, there are better ways to achieve it,” adds Meyer, “ways that improve the world, not make it less harmonious.”

“TV is now and has always been the land of make-believe,” says Dawniel Patterson Winningham, author of Girl! Power. “The faster we help our kids realize that, the faster they will start to view it as what it really is… entertainment.”

Is reality TV glamorizing teen moms? >>

This celeb mom watches "Teen Mom" with her daughter >>

Help your child create a positive sense of life

The kids who are most affected by the negatives of reality TV are those who lack a positive reality in their own home or community, explains Constance Dunn, author of Practical Glamour. “The best counteraction to having your child infected with the worst of pop culture is to show him or her some positive, alternative realities,” Dunn says.

Watching raunchy TV “is the equivalent of throwing a paper sack of fast food and a bottle of soda on the table for dinner each night instead of cooking a nutritious meal,” says Dunn. “Offer nourishing, valuable culture to your kids by seeking out positive TV shows that transmit a positive sense of life.”

Dunn adds, “The greater the positives your child experiences in day-to-day life, the smaller the smut will become.”

Jimmy Kimmel terrorizes innocents with Octomom porn pics

Jimmy Kimmel couldn't show the promotional images from Octomom Nadya Suleman's upcoming adult film to his studio audience. So he did the next best thing by taking them to the streets and showing them to innocent bystanders. The results are priceless.

Octomom

Remember our horror when reporting that promotional stills from Octomom Nadya Suleman’s porn debut had made their way online? It was pretty disturbing. But at least we had the decency to keep the images off the streets.

Not Jimmy Kimmel.

In an inspired bit, Kimmel took the images — which he admitted he couldn’t show on network television — and showed them to unsuspecting citizens trying to walk around the street of Los Angeles, then recorded their horrified reactions.

Priceless.

It’s rarely a good sign when someone looking at a photo of you has to ask, “Is that her stomach?”

Others merely felt their own stomachs churn, as when one lady bravely admits, “I’m about to throw up in my mouth.”

Well put, ma’am.

Our favorite comment from someone flipping through the photos, though, has to be when a lady asked, “Is that a man or a woman?”

As Kimmel points out, you’ll have to pay $25 to rent the Octomom’s pornographic movie to find out for yourself. That triggered Kimmel to claim, “Maybe Rick Santorum was on to something with that banning porn idea.”

He finally concluded, “I think porn has jumped the shark."

The reaction-shot video’s pretty fantastic. It’s a lot more enjoyable to look at than the promotional images from Octomom’s adult film. By any chance, will you be renting this fine piece of art when it’s available? Suleman seems pretty excited by it, telling the Huffington Post, “I owe a lot to Wicked Pictures contract star Jessica Drake; she opened my eyes to a whole different world of self-pleasure that I could have never imagined. They made me look so glamorous and for the first time in my life, I felt beautiful and sexy. I'm very excited for it to come out!"

False alarm: No baby for Kourtney Kardashian yet

The rumor mill was working overtime speculating that Kourtney Kardashian already gave birth to her daughter. It's just not true, though -- not yet, at least.

Kourtney Kardashian is still pregnant

Kourtney Kardashian is about to be a mother times two, it just hasn't happened yet. The pregnant reality star set off a firestorm of speculation when she tweeted about her plans for Thursday night.

"Chick-fil-A and a water birth," she tweeted. "No big deal."

Turns out she did watch a water birth — it just wasn't her own.

"Witnessed a water birth last night with @KhloeKardashian. What an experience! All I can say is WOW!" the oldest Kardashian sister tweeted a few hours later without acknowledging the controversy she created — have to keep people talking, after all!

That's not to say she won't be popping soon — the mom of Mason is set to give birth sometime in July. We have to wonder if this will finally calm the hard-partying ways of her dapper baby daddy, Scott Disick. It seems like his constant nights out are still a pain in Kardashian's side and her anger is the core subject of this week's Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

"You wouldn't answer my texts, but you were sending me pictures of you guys," she fumed to Disick, referring to his nights out with sister Kim Kardashian.

"Well, that's an answer," Disick replied. "Isn't a picture worth a thousand words?"

"I'm not into staying home by myself every night while you guys are partying it up. I wake up in the middle of the night seeing if [you're] home — it's disrupting my sleep," Kardashian shot back.

She then laid the smackdown on her sister about keeping her fiance out at night.

"You can find your own boyfriend to hang out with because mine is going to be at home with his pregnant girlfriend and son," she snapped.

Pregnancy hormones alert! She's right, though we don't understand why she keeps putting up with his crap. We have yet to find one redeeming quality in him.

Cope with your child's summer allergies on the cheap

$

You shouldn't have to choose between saving money and giving your youngster relief from summer allergies. But, with the right savings tips, you can give your children relief without blowing through your bank account. From asking for prescriptions versus over-the-counter to irrigating your child's nose, uncover five tips from Jeanette Pavini, Emmy award-winning Coupons.com household savings expert about how to cope with your child's summer allergies on the cheap.

Compare prices

While many children's summer allergies can be soothed with over-the-counter medicine, your insurance may be a money-saving alternative. Find out which allergy medications your insurance will cover and compare the prices on paying out-of-pocket versus your co-pay when it comes to fighting and soothing what's making your child sneeze, wheeze or cough.

Go for generic

In addition to many name brand medications that tackle seasonal allergies, many generic versions can help you save even more with a little help from your medical insurance. Many pharmacists will attest to the fact that generics are just as effective as name brands, so ask your doctor for a list of recommendations and compare prices at your pharmacy.

Learn how to pick a pediatrician >>

Ask for free samples

Not all drugs are alike, so when given the opportunity to try before you buy, you won't have to worry about wasting money on medications that just don't work for your child. Before investing in a full prescription for your child's allergy medication, ask your pediatrician for a free sample for your kiddo.

Check for coupons

Whether buying over-the-counter or going prescription, save money by researching discounts on the allergy medication you're going to buy. Ask your pediatrician for coupons, browse for money-saving offers on the manufacturer's website or seek out savings on Coupons.com.

Wash out your child's nose

While Neti Pots have a bad rap, nasal irrigation of any kind using distilled, sterile or previously boiled water in the saline solution can help clear out seasonal irritants before they annoy your youngster. In addition, irrigating your kiddo's snout will also help soothe and moisturize nasal passages already aggravated by summer allergies.

Get tips on how to survive when your baby is sick >>

While these tips can help you cope with your child's summer allergies on the cheap, the easiest way to save money is to stop allergies before they start. You can use an allergen-reducing air filter, buy a vacuum with a HEPA filter and invest in dust mite covers for pillows and mattresses to keep indoor irritants at bay while reducing the amount of allergy medication your youngster will need in the long run.

Tony Parker caught in Drake and Chris Brown catfight

Tony Parker is sporting some cuts after he was caught in the crossfire of the Drake and Chris Brown fight earlier this week. Find out what he has to say about the injuries.

Tony Parker caught in the middle of Chris Brown and Drake fight

Okay, this whole fight between Drake and Chris Brown is getting stranger by the minute. It was bad enough that random W.i.P. clubgoers were caught in the crossfire, but now it turns out that San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker was thrown into the middle of the fight — and his eye is cut!

"I was there with a bunch of friends when a fight broke out. They started to throw bottles about... I got it all," he told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday afternoon. The ex-husband of Eva Longoria was sporting some sunglasses indoors to mask the injury. "The cornea has been touched. I can't do anything for seven days... But I was lucky. The injury won't prevent me from competing the Olympics in any way"

It sounds like he got it worse than Chris Brown — the singer only got a gash on his chin during the 4 a.m. fight. The actual details of the fight are sketchy, but it's clear that someone approached Brown's table to ask if he had a problem with Drake, according to the Associated Press.

It's widely rumored that Brown sent a bottle of champagne to Drake's table to "bury the hatchet" on their feud over Rihanna, but Drake allegedly sent the bottle back with a note that said "I'm f*****g the love of your life , deal with it."

However, Drake's rep said nothing like that happened and he was actually leaving the club when the fight went down.

"He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property," the Canadian rapper's rep said. Instead, many are saying rapper — and Drake pal — Meek Mill is responsible for starting the fight.

As for Rihanna? She hasn't commented publicly on the fight, but sources say she loves the drama.

Rihanna "loves this!" a source told US Weekly. "Men fighting over her? Are you kidding? Of course. [She] loves the drama."

The source added that the sexy singer "got text messages from everybody telling her what happened right after it went down. She just laughed. She's spoken to both of them and just thinks it's crazy. She's glad she wasn't there though!"

Uh, we love drama as much as the next person, but we really hope she doesn't encourage person-on-person violence — we all know her history with that and it's never cool, whether it's between two lovers or enemies.

Kevin Costner prevails over Baldwin bro in slippery lawsuit

"The bigger celebrity won" in a lawsuit over an oil spill cleanup device worth millions. Read on to find out why Kevin Costner risked a trial instead of offering a settlement to his former investor, actor Stephen Baldwin.

Kevin Costner

In the battle royale between Kevin Costner and Stephen Baldwin, Robin Hood won, of course. Costner has prevailed in a suit claiming he and business partner Patrick Smith conspired to cut Baldwin out of a lucrative contract with BP involving an oil and water centrifuge spill cleanup device.

A jury rejected Baldwin's claim less than two hours after closing arguments finished.

So why go to trial? Why didn't Costner just settle and get the thing over with? Time is money, right?

"My name means more to me than money and that's why we didn't settle," Costner told reporters outside the New Orleans federal courtroom.

Baldwin sued Costner and his business partner for allegedly failing to reveal ongoing negotiations with BP to sell 32 of the devices for $52 million. Baldwin banked just $500,000 when he sold his shares in the company shortly before the sale went through — and he wanted more than $17 million in damages to make up for it.

Not gonna happen.

"We're disappointed," Baldwin's lawyer James Cobb said. "We thought we proved rather convincingly that these two guys, Mr. Costner and Mr. Smith, defrauded us. The jury saw it a different way but we respect the jury's verdict," adding, "the bigger celebrity won."

Tell us: Do you think the jury was swayed by Costner's brighter star power?

Cancer has claimed many entertainers this year, from Adam Yauch to Donna Summer. Now, former Moesha actress Yvette Wilson — in the far right of the photo — succumbed to her fight with cervical cancer on Thursday, her friend Jeffrey Pittle confirmed. She was 48.

"It is with a heavy heart that I can verify that Yvette passed away last evening after a lengthy and hard battle," he wrote on a website set up to gain donations for her medical treatment. "She was a fighter to the end, and her talent, humor and amazing friendship will be sorely missed. She will live on through her awesome body of work."

The actress — best known for her role on the Brandy comedy and the spin-off UPN show, The Parkers — also acted in other projects, including the short-lived sitcom Thea and films like House Party 2, Friday, Poetic Justice and Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.

In recent years, Wilson worked in real estate and managed a record company.

Her celebrity pals and former co-stars have expressed their sadness over her death in tweets and statements.

"F--- Cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... oh god ... my heart is soooo unbelievably broken ... I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home," former Moesha co-star Shar Jackson tweeted.

Pink pedicure

You definitely don’t have to be a total girly-girl like Elle Woods from Legally Blonde to wear pink. If you want to rock the color on your toes though, you do need a pro friend like Paulette to tell you what’s up!

Pink is the new Black

Here are seven tips for achieving the perfect pink at-home pedi .

Remove your old polish

First things first, you'll want to remove your old polish. Grab a cotton ball , and soak it with nail polish remover. Gently rub away any remaining color from your nails, making sure not to miss a spot. If you notice yellow stains on your nails after doing so, dip an old toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide and use it to scrub your nails. This should do the trick.

Soak your feet in warm water

To soften your cuticles and moisturize your skin, founder of Beauty Booked Hillary Hutcheson recommends soaking your feet in a bowl of warm water for about five minutes. Add some essential oils to the mix to create a relaxing, spa-like experience and really pamper your feet. Hey, after a long day, they deserve it!

Looking for more ways to update your nails? Check out these cool nail designs before heading to the salon.

Create your own scrub

Create your own scrub by mixing 2 tablespoons of granular sugar with your normal body wash, says Hillary. "Then massage into your feet to get rid of dry skin and/or rough spots." You can also use a pumice stone to buff away dead skin.

Take care of your cuticles

Now that your cuticles are all nice and soft, dab a drop of cuticle oil on each nail and then use an orange stick to gently push them back.

Trim and shape nails

If your nails are too long, trim them down first and then file in one direction to create a perfectly rounded square shape, says Hillary. Wipe any excess oil from nails using nail polish remover before adding a base coat.

Apply two coats of polish

After applying a thin layer of base coat, add two coats of pretty pink polish , waiting a couple of minutes between each application. If you're having a hard time deciding on a certain color, right now we're loving punchy pink brights and soft pastels for summer.

Add a top coat

Last but not least, finish off your look with a high-shine top coat to prevent chipping, says Hillary. "Let your nails dry for at least 10 minutes, and then you're all set for any summer occasion!"

  • Decorative paper for accessories
  • Scissors
  • Glue or double-sided craft tape

Optional Materials:

  • Bone folder
  • Hole punch
  • Decorative wrapping paper
  • Instructions for DIY Father’s Day shirt card

Throughout the craft, it's important to create crisp folds. A bone folder can help make this easier.

Step 1: Create vertical folds

If using decorative paper, turn the paper over so the right side is facing down. Fold the paper in half.

Father's Day shirt card: Step 1 fold in half

Lay the paper flat and fold each side up into the center fold. Open up paper and lay it flat.

Step 6: Add a personal message

To add a personal message inside the card, cut out a piece of cardstock that can fit inside the card. The one used here is approximately 3-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches. Secure it to shirt with glue or double-sided tape. Write dad a note.

Father's Day shirt card: Add personal message

Step 7: Accessorize the shirt

Add embellishments to the outside of the shirt to give it some of dad’s style. Ideas to consider include a tie, pocket, bowtie, or buttons.

To make a tie: cut a 1/2-inch strip of decorative paper. If you know how to knot a tie, now’s the time to show your skills. If not, fake it by looping strip around the top until a faux knot is created.

Father's Day shirt card: Loop paper to make a tie

Father's Day shirt card: Tying a tie knot

Snip the bottom corners of the paper to create a pointed end. Secure to shirt with a dab of glue or double sided tape.

Father's Day shirt card: Secure tie to shirt

Father's Day shirt card: Tie and hanky

To add a pocket, cut a small square of decorative paper and round-out the bottom edges . Using the same paper as the personalized message, free-hand cut a small shape to serve as the hanky. Secure it to the shirt with glue or sticky tape.

Father's Day shirt card: Striped tie and pocket hanky

Father's Day shirt card: Bowtie and buttons

To add a bowtie, cut a small rectangle and slightly snip the corners on a diagonal. Add buttons by using a hole punch. Secure it to the shirt with a dab of glue or sticky tape.

Father's Day shirt card: Bowtie and buttons

Father's Day shirt card: Made with wrapping paper

Wrapping paper also works as a substitute for cardstock or decorative scrapbooking paper. This one was made from leftover Christmas wrapping paper. Wrapping paper wrinkles a little easier, though, so if you're using it, plan to make one as a mockup or be very precise when making the first folds.

Justin Bieber's manhood takes a hard hit from manager

Justin Bieber may have just recently celebrated his 18th birthday, but his manager says the boy-wonder is no adult. The man in charge tells a Britney-esque tale of young Bieber, who is not a boy -- but not yet a man.

Justin BieberJustin Bieber's manhood is apparently up for debate. The singer, who recently turned 18 years old, has been dissed by his manager, who insists the teen heartthrob is nowhere near being a man.

"Adult artist? Just because he's legal now doesn't mean he's an adult," Justin Bieber's manager, Scooter Braun, recently told Billboard. "He still needs guidance; he's still finding his way. He's no longer a boy, but he's definitely not yet a man."

Scooter Braun went on to say that Justin Bieber is under more pressure than other pop stars, because he's essentially a one-man band making a go of stardom in the modern world.

Without further ado, Justin Bieber's "Maria" >>

"No one in the history of the world has ever grown up with the pressure that he has, being a solo artist that young, that famous, in a world with technology that exposes us 24/7," Bieber's manager explained.

"He was literally going through puberty in front of the entire world, with everyone expecting something from him and a lot people waiting for him to screw up. He's a fighter. I'm proud of him — how's he's stayed true to himself and taken control of the entire situation."

Justin Bieber vs glass wall: Who won? >>

The 18-year-old himself recently spoke to GQ about not being able to let anyone into his private world, explaining, "I mean, I keep my guard up a lot, because you know, you can't trust anyone in this business. That's what's sad. You can't trust anybody. I learned the hard way."

Hopefully the young Biebs won't be insulted by Scooter Brauns' comments on his manhood! Perhaps the singer could do a remake of Britney Spears' "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman" for his fellow pubescent males?

Catherine Zeta-Jones' Rock of Ages look can be best described in four little words said with glee: "So bad it's great!" The actress details what it was like to do the time warp back to the 1980s, and which co-star she was stoked to do a duet with!

Catherine Zeta-JonesCatherine Zeta-Jones both loved and was completely freaked out by her Rock of Ages makeover. The actress, who was happy to sign on for yet another musical role, says seeing all of her co-stars done up in their 1980's duds was fantastically horrible!

"When Adam [Shankman, choreographer] called me and said, 'Darling, would you ever think about doing another musical?' I went, 'Yeah. With you?' He went, 'Yeah.' I said, 'Sure,'" Catherine Zeta-Jones told OnTheRedCarpet while out promoting Rock of Ages. "I mean, I didn't have to think much about it 'cause I wanted to work with him."

She continued, explaining he told her, "So we're writing something in for you and you're going to be able to be a villain, very conservative.'"

"Then I said, 'That sounds too much fun, I'm not missing it," the 42-year-old actress went on. "And then he told me I could get to sing a Pat Benatar song -- 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot' and do a duet with Russell Brand, which is a wonderful medley of two songs that are fantastic. So it was a slam dunk for me. It really was. It was too much fun. It was way too much fun."

Rock of Ages movie review: Sex, laughs and rock 'n' roll >>

Of her own real-life fashion sense in the '80s Catherine Zeta-Jones explained, "Up until '87, I was working in theatre in London and I had big hair and wore big shoulder pads."

Transforming into the fashion glory of three decades ago for Rock of Ages proved to be quite the fun experience. "When we did 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot,' we were all waiting to shoot and we all came in with our hair and makeup and we're like, 'Oh my God, that is so bad, it's great," Zeta-Jones said, laughing. "And then they go, 'Oh, look at you! Oh no, that's horrible!'"

Kim Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey

Kim Kardashian and the whole family have been treated to an Oprah Winfrey inquest into just what the heck they're actually famous for. Starting June 17, Oprah's Next Chapter will air the Kardashian family's two-part interview in which Kim reveals she's had an "epiphany" in the past year.

"You're growing up," Oprah Winfrey can be heard kindly telling 31-year-old Kim in a clip from their chat.

"I'm totally growing up," concurred Kim in reply, adding that she has consciously started surrounding herself with older, more mature people. "A lot of my friends, the people that I love to just sit and talk to and spend my time with, are wiser, a little bit older than me."

Are there wedding bells in Kim Kardashian's future? >>

"Before I used to, you know, all my boyfriends were younger," added Kim Kardashian, now dating 35-year-old Kanye West after having divorced 27-year-old short-time husband Kris Humphries. "I always dated five years younger. My whole thing was completely different."

"I love that I'm with someone who is a couple years older than me," she added of West. "I love that my friends are even sometimes 20, 30 years older than me."

"Kourtney had this epiphany when she had the baby and she changed into a different person," Kim went on to explain, comparing her process of maturity to her sister becoming a mother. "I feel like I've had an epiphany over the last year for what I've been through, and I am that changed person just from my own experiences."

Anna Wintour thinks SJP's decor isn't fit for a president, apparently

$

Even Carrie Bradshaw's sense of style isn't good enough for the Ice Queen. Word is the Vogue editor-in-chief took one step inside of Sarah Jessica Parker's West Village mansion and wasn't having any of it before the big presidential fundraiser the two co-hosted. Wintour cleaned house, literally, as movers scrambled to unload the Parker family's shabby chic stuff to make way for something more "presidential" right before the $40,000-a-head event Thursday night.

Anna Wintour SJPSJP's stuff stinks. At least that's what fashion pacesetter Anna Wintour thinks.

The New York Post reports Wintour was in a dizzy-tizzy over the furniture and decor in the home Parker and husband, Matthew Broderick, share with their son and twin daughters.

There was no way the Vogue editor was going to let the Obamas see that House of "Shabby Chic" Horror during the $80,000-a-couple campaign funder the pair organized jointly.

"Let's just say, Anna wanted less shabby and more chic," a source said.

Sources report a "small battalion" of cleaners descended upon the Parker mansion earlier in the week. They were seen scrubbing door handles and windows, hauling in rented chairs and flowers and moving SJP's beloved tchotchkes upstairs -- to the floor where the family was relegated until the whole frenzied overhaul was complete.

"It's not like this is an event at the Trump SoHo," a source sympathetic to the busy mom/actress said. "It's the place where [Parker] feeds her kids."

Far-right pundits have been quick to politicize this ordeal. Yes, even this.

Rush Limbaugh on his show Friday insinuated that this was just another example of the Hollywood and "Coastal Elite" mentality that is represented by individuals like Wintour and by the president who "pals" around with the stars.

"Movie stars and fashion designers are probably the only people on earth who are more out of touch than even Barack Hussein Kardashian is!" he said.

Back to the actual event at hand: Those who "were there" downplayed Wintour's actions.

“Anna didn’t decide the décor," the source said. "That was done in a meeting without her.

"Furniture was being brought in and out, but not for Anna’s benefit to preside over, they were in prep mode.”

Is anyone surprised by Anna's part in all of this? After all, let's not forget, the devil is a woman who wears Prada. Plus, furious scrubbing and organizing is in store if, like Wintour, you're in the running for a plum ambassadorship to Britain.

That's My Boy movie review: Daddy don't

$

This male fantasy fulfillment comedy gets its laughs from all things inappropriate. But what else would you expect from Adam Sandler in this father/son romcom? And the barf and other bodily fluid on the wedding dress is an extra-nice touch.

That's My boy Sandler and Samberg

The movie starts in 1984 with 13-year-old Donny Berger who gets seduced by his math teacher Mrs. McGarrigle . The story is taken from a real-life headline that doesn’t exactly strike me as fodder for a comedy, but I’m not Adam Sandler. When student and teacher are caught in the act, young Donny becomes a legend and pregnant Mrs. McGarrigle gets 30 years in the slammer. Donny gets custody of his son, whom he names Han Solo, when Donny turns 18. But he’s so bad at single parenting, Han Solo abandons his bad dad and reinvents himself.

Han Solo is now a neurotic hedge fund manager who calls himself Todd , and is about to marry a spoiled little rich girl named Jamie  who loves to demean him. So traumatized by his childhood, Todd’s forced to take two Xanax each morning and carry a pair of “security underwear” in his pocket — just in case.

thats my boy tattoo

When older Donny Berger discovers he owes thousands in back taxes, he devises a plan to reunite his son and former teacher-lover in an effort to cash in on what’s sure to be a hot reality TV reunion.

So Donny shows up at the giant mansion on the Cape where Todd, his fiancée, her family and Todd’s boss Steve prepare for the extravagant nuptials.

Here, Sandler is in his element as the beer-guzzling, mulleted, walking embarrassment-of-humanity, ready to offend everyone and their mother.

When Donny looks for inspiration to have a wank, he picks Jamie’s Grandma Delores’s photo. The double frame has a picture of her as a young bathing suit model and now as the octogenarian. Having known only older women from a young age, you can guess which picture really does it for him.

In a new twist on the bachelor party, Todd, Donny and other hedge funders go to the spa for facials and nail treatments, “making good use of a Groupon.”  But Donny can’t stand to see his son have such a dismal marital sendoff and takes them to his favorite strip club to do the bachelor party old-school style.

That's My Boy strip club

Underneath all the sleaze, Donny truly wants his son to be happy. That’s why he changes his mind on asking Todd to be part of the reality TV money-making scheme. But when Todd starts to accept his father for who he is and shows up at the women's prison to reunite with his mother he’s in for a big surprise.

That’s My Boy is at its best with uncomfortable sexual liaisons and bringing back icons like Vanilla Ice from the 1980s. There are lots of laughs, but the movie feels a tad long at nearly two hours.

Bottom line: This R-rated comedy is rude and crude but funny. It’s boys acting like dirty, reckless boys with some really fun '80's flashbacks. Just be prepared for the potty humor.

Tinseltown's best and worst father figures

$

With Father's Day looming, there's no time like the present to reflect upon the doting Hollywood dads who are our heroes... and the less-than-stellar pop culture papas who are -- how shall we say it? -- zeroes in the paternal department.

Hugh Jackman with Daughter Ava

THE MACK DADDIES

Hugh Jackman. This Aussie import is rarely caught on camera without his tots in tow: They stroll through the park; they cheer outside at basketball games; they eat popsicles on a park bench. Clearly, his heart is made of gold — not adamantium.

David Beckham. Ever the athlete, Becks seems to favor frequenting sporting events with his sons Romeo, Brooklyn and Cruz. We can't wait to see what he has in store for baby girl Harper. Daddy and daughter tea party, anyone?

Will Smith. This man-in-black makes killing super-sized aliens onscreen look easy, so it's no wonder he makes parenting look like a breeze too. Adorably, he is unapologetically affectionate with kids Trey, Jaden and Willow. Um, adopt us please!

Ben Affleck. Could Affleck be any cuter as a daddy? We think not. Whether he is pushing daughters Violet and Seraphina on a swing or snuggling with baby boy Samuel, he and the kids always have huge smiles plastered on their faces.

Alec Baldwin with Daughter Ireland

THE SLACK DADDIES

Alec Baldwin. Call us crazy, but dubbing your 11-year-old daughter "rude" and a "pig" in a voicemail message might just land you on the list of worst dads ever. Unfortunately for Alec, pig is not a term of mis-endearment people will soon forget.

Michael Lohan. Do as I say, not as I do. Or, in Michael Lohan's case, avoid everything I say or do altogether. The jailbird makes headlines for his alcoholism, drug abuse and loopy behavior. Guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, eh LiLo?

Mel Gibson. Last year, Gibson became embroiled in a bitter battle with ex Oksana when she claimed he beat her and threatened her — while she was holding their then three-month old daughter Lucia. Somebody deserves a spanking!

Woody Allen. Brilliant mind he may be, but Woody Allen sure knows how to up the ick factor as well. His big scandal? When he began courting longtime-lover Mia Farrow's daughter who, at 21, was 34 years his junior. Creepier still? They are now married.
