Ryan Reynolds' New Project May Be the Best Idea Ever

I don’t know about you, but I love Ryan Reynolds. (Like, love.) He is hilarious, down-to-earth, a good husband and father and, well, he is pretty darn cute. In short, the man can do no wrong. And his latest project, Stoned Alone — a modern day reimagining of Home Alone  is no exception.

At least, I hope it will be no exception.

More: Ryan Reynolds Jokes — Again — That Blake Lively Is Divorcing Him

The project, being produced by Reynolds and released by Fox, will be a comedy about a 20-something stoner who misses his plane for his holiday ski trip and goes home to get high. (Because why not make the best out of a bad situation.) However, shortly after, paranoia sets in, and the unnamed character believes thieves have broken into house. But the noises he is hearing aren't in his head; turns out thieves have broken into his house. So what happens next? Well, the stoner spends the remainder of the movie trying to stop the thieves.

Obviously.

This isn’t Reynolds' first foray into producing. In addition to acting in them, he produced the Deadpool movies, which were a massive success in their own right, grossing more than $1.5 billion worldwide. Reynolds will produce Stoned Alone through his Fox-based production company, Maximum Effort.

Maximum Effort’s George Dewey will be the film’s executive producer.

In addition to Reynolds and Dewey, Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider have signed on as screenwriters and Augustine Frizzell, the man who directed the Sundance comedy Never Goin’ Back, will take the director's seat.

No release date has been specified; however, we do know one thing: This film will almost certainly have an R rating.

Beyoncé Shares Rare Photo of Twins Rumi & Sir on Vacation

Beyoncé and Jay-Z aren’t private about many things, but when it comes to family life, the pair tends to keep things close to the vest. In fact, the couple is very protective of their children (what parent isn't?). But it looks like we're finally getting a glimpse into their current family life. On Wednesday, the Beyoncé shared a photo of herself with her now 13-month-old twins, Rumi and Sir.

The picture, posted on Beyoncé’s website, was taken on a recent family vacation to Europe and shows a giggling Rumi and a contemplative Sir.

Up until now, the only images we have seen of the pair were on Beyoncé’s Instagram page and on The Shade Room — but both images were taken when the twins were very young (1 month old).

Beyoncé also recently posted a photo of herself with her now-6-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, in which both of them are pretty in pink. (Seriously, they were super-cute. Like, I totally want one of those dresses.)

More: 40 Times Beyoncé, Jay-Z & Blue Ivy Were the Cutest Family Ever

Beyoncé captioned the series of photos with a simple "Thank you Europe" — Queen Bey and Jay had just completed the European leg of their "On the Run II" tour. While the pair clearly has a lot to be thankful for, members of the Beyhive are also thankful today for getting our much-awaited look at those adorable twins and their knee rolls.

Chrissy Teigen Is Under Fire for Letting Luna Play With Poisonous Wasp

Where would some people be without celebrities like Chrissy Teigen? This thought is something I wondered this morning as I learned that the internet police have once again put the celebrity in their crosshairs. Teigen's most recent offense? Allowing a bug to rest on her arm while vacationing in Bali while 2-year-old Luna watched.

More: 17 Times Chrissy Teigen Was the Queen of Social Media

It all started when Teigen tweeted a video of said bug with the caption, "time for another game of 'what's this bug?!'!" She must have had a hunch that this 2-inch creature could be dangerous, because she added, "I swear to god if one of you tells me this is a deadly bug I will vomit," over the clip.

Surprise, surprise! Many people did take the opportunity to tell Teigen that the bug in question is, indeed, quite dangerous.

"Tarantula Hawk Wasp! Be careful, it's [sic] sting is like being shot apparently," one person warned.

Another person tweeted, "no biggie just a tarantula hawk wasp that can put your arm in a state of paralysis when stung by," along with a pretty terrifying photo.

According to a report by Wired, tarantula wasps rank high up there on the Schmidt sting pain index, landing in the same category as something called a bullet ant. Apparently, the three minutes of pain someone endures after being stung is so bad that all they can really do is drop to the ground and writhe in agony. Sounds like a blast!

More: Chrissy Teigen & John Legend's New Baby Officially Has a (Super-Cute) Name

However, according to a self-proclaimed bug-lover, the insect may have been a paper wasp, which "can inflict a serious sting in self-defence or when defending the nest but are usually chilled when foraging away from the nest."

Despite the jury still being undecided on what kind of insect this winged beast was, Teigen felt the need to clarify a few things after repeatedly being stung by... commenters.

"Oh dear here comes the fun..okay, should I not hold potentially deadly creatures? no," she tweeted. "Should I do it around my daughter? Super no. But it crawled on me and seemed injured and well, not angry, not scary. And I'm normally super freaked (remember house centipede??)"

"I put it down gently and he crawled right back," she continued. "Maybe it was my reincarnated relative. Or puddy the bulldog. Either way, everyone is okay and the world continues to turn."

In sum, be nice to bugs! Be nice to people online! And most of all, live your life outside the comments section.

Here Are the Health Benefits of Chia Seeds

Chia seeds might be small, but don’t let the size of these powerhouse seeds fool you. Not only are they packed full of fiber, antioxidants, omega-3s and essential minerals, they also mix easily into some of your favorite foods. Here's an inside look into their health benefits.

What are chia seeds?

Chia seeds are edible seeds that come from the desert plant Salvia hispanicawhich is part of the mint family. Chia seeds are an unprocessed, whole-grain food and were a food staple for the Aztecs and Mayans.

Despite their ancient history as a dietary staple, Kristie Leigh, a registered dietitian and health affairs manager at Danone North America, tells SheKnows that chia seeds have only recently grown in popularity and gained recognition for their impressive nutritional value.

More: We Know Fiber Is Good for Us — Here's Why & What to Eat

Why are chia seeds good for you?

According to Courtney Ferreira, a registered dietitian, chia seeds are considered by dietitians to be an “almost perfect food.” That’s because chia seeds have among the highest antioxidant activity of any whole food, she tells SheKnows.

But the benefits of chia seeds don’t end there. Here are some additional reasons why chia seeds are so good for you:

Pack a lot of punch in a small package

With only 138 calories per 1-ounce serving, chia seeds pack a lot of nutrients, without adding extra calories to your diet.

Great source of fiber

These tiny seeds can absorb 10 times their weight in water, making them a great addition to improve hydration, Stephanie Wilson, a registered dietitian, tells SheKnows.

“Additionally, fiber slows the rate of digestion, helping you feel fuller for longer,” she adds. And with 10 grams of fiber per ounce (about two tablespoons), including chia seeds in your diet will help you reach the recommended 25 to 30 grams of fiber per day.

Low in carbohydrates

If you’re watching your carb intake, you’ll be happy to know that the carbohydrate content in chia seeds is almost all made up of dietary fiber. In fact, of the almost 12 grams of carbohydrates per 1-ounce serving, close to 10 grams of that is dietary fiber.

High in omega-3 fatty acids

Chia seeds boast the highest level of omega-3s found in any whole plant food, Ferreira notes, adding that including foods with omega-3s helps raise your HDL cholesterol (the “good” cholesterol) and protect against heart attack and stroke.

Rich in protein

One ounce of chia seeds contains 4 grams of protein.

Packed full of minerals

Chia seeds are an excellent source of bone-preserving minerals, including calcium, iron, magnesium and zinc.

Easy to include in recipes and everyday food items

You can add chia seeds to smoothies, pudding and yogurt or sprinkle them on top of fruit and cereal.

Recipes and tips for including chia seeds in your diet

One of the top reasons to add this powerhouse food to your day is how easy it is to incorporate them into your diet and favorite recipes.

Registered dietitian and recipe developer Stephanie McKercher uses chia seeds in everything from homemade crackers to energy bites and summer mocktails

Registered dietitian Lauren Manaker tells SheKnows she also sneaks chia seeds into recipes including meatloaf and hamburgers. “I mix chia seeds in with the meat mixture and cook as usual,” she says. “It adds a nice taste and makes me feel fuller for a longer time.”

If you'd like more ways to use chia seeds in recipes, here are some recipes straight from our experts.

Peach-mango chia jam recipe

Registered dietitian Toby Amidor tells SheKnows that chia seeds have a very mild flavor and add crunch when sprinkled over yogurt, salads or oatmeal. Here is one of her favorite recipes made with chia seeds.

Yields 1/2 cup

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh or unsweetened frozen peach slices
  • 1 cup fresh of unsweetened frozen mango slices
  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds

Directions:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook the peach and mango slices, stirring often, until soft, about 12 minutes.
  2. Using a potato masher or a fork, mash the fruit in the pan.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and add the chia seeds. Stir to combine. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 3 minutes.
  4. Remove the pan from the heat and allow the mixture to cool for five minutes.

Vanilla-matcha spring smoothie recipe

Leigh says she loves to add chia seeds to all kinds of foods, including yogurt, smoothie bowls and banana bread (one of her kid’s favorite treats). “Since chia seeds have a mild flavor, they can be added to savory and sweet recipes such as marinades, dressings and dips for fruits and vegetables,” she adds. Here is one of Leigh’s favorite morning meals with chia seeds.

Ingredients:

  • 2 (3-ounce) vanilla probiotic yogurt drinks
  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 2 teaspoons matcha powder
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds
  • Splash of milk
  • Ice, about 2 handfuls

Directions:

  1. Pour the yogurt drinks into a blender. Top with frozen bananas, matcha powder and chia seeds. Add a splash of milk. Pour ice into a blender and blend well for 20 seconds.

Chia seed pudding recipe

A simple meal to make for breakfast is chia seed pudding. Manaker says she likes this healthy meal because you prep it the night before.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk

Directions:

  1. Mix the chia seeds, honey and almond milk, cover and chill overnight. Top with fresh fruit or a spoonful of nut butter.

So, now that you know what chia seeds are, what they do and how to use them, give them a try!

There’s Good News About Lauren Cohan’s Walking Dead Exit

The Walking Dead has been making big waves since 2017 with all the casting and production changes that have come our way. First, it was announced that creator Robert Kirkman was leaving the series. Then, there was the confirmation at San Diego Comic-Con in July that, after it being heavily rumored earlier in 2018, the show's star, Andrew Lincoln, would be making his exit sometime during season nine. Now, even though we already know she'll be doing double duty on ABC's Whiskey Cavalier and TWD beginning in the fall, Lauren Cohan is giving us a clearer picture of her TWD character Maggie's future on the show.

More: Walking Dead Actors Got a Promotion for Season 9

According to Uproxx, Cohan — and thus Maggie — is safe on TWD for now. During an interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live on Thursday, the actor confirmed she will return to the show and that she will only appear in six episodes but crucially, she will not be killed off.

"The good news is — which is good for me and good news for fans — is that my The Walking Dead story is open," Cohan told Cohen. "[Maggie's story] is not finished."

It's certainly a relief to hear that Cohan's time on TWD is not coming to an end anytime soon. The announcement in February that she secured a role on Whiskey Cavalier — following reports that she wanted a substantial salary increase on par with costars Lincoln and Norman Reedus — had fans on tenterhooks for the better part of a year about what the future held for Cohan where TWD was concerned. Coupled with the rumors and eventual confirmation of Lincoln's departure, it's hard not to feel like the changes TWD is undergoing are happening at breakneck speed.

Of course, fans of Cohan were undoubtedly overjoyed by this news. However, even with this news, it is clear season nine will be one that is full of changes for the cast, for the crew and for the fans.

7 Car-Packing Tips From Moms of Large Families

$

A lot of things change when you become a parent: your sleep schedule, your after-work priorities, the food in your fridge. Another change? Whether you can just jump in a car. The days of grabbing your purse and going are on hiatus. In their place is a complicated system of making sure you have everything you and your kids need while you're away from home, whether you're heading to a sports game, to the dentist’s office or — gulp — on a long-distance road trip.

When you have a big family, it seems like the list of things you need in order to be prepared is constantly growing. To help, we talked to moms with more than three kids about how they handle packing the car for their big families for every kind of trip.

1. Be prepared for messes

Kids are great, but they also tend to make a heck of a mess. Having supplies to deal with the unexpected mess is crucial. “I always make sure I have paper towels, wet wipes, the portable potty chair and a change of clothes for the ones who sometimes get carsick,” says Megan, 36.

2. Get clever about organizing

If you’ve got a big family, your car may need to go beyond a traditional organizing system. “I use laundry baskets to keep the ‘extras’ contained,” says Rebecca, 33.

If it’s more than just the extras that are turning your car into chaos, consider forgoing suitcases altogether. “I have four kids, and we go to Colorado for at least a month every summer. I use big plastic bins instead of suitcases,” says Kate, 40. “They stack nicely in the back of my minivan and can hold a ton more stuff.”

3. Use one large suitcase for everyone's clothes

"I used to have a mishmash of suitcases and bags — whatever we could find — when we'd go on vacation, and it would require a whole lot of finagling. Now I have one huge suitcase that fits nicely, and more importantly flatly, into the back of our Honda CR-V, making it easy to stack other things on top," says Jennifer, 41.

4. Prep an “emergency” stash for peace of mind

“Under the seats, I stash paper towels, grocery bags, Ziplocs (these can be for throw-up or for containing smelly messes like diapers), a nice picnic blanket, extra blankets for when the kids get cold and a small potty with diapers that I stick in to catch the mess and a roll of toilet paper,” says Susan, 37.

5. Store essentials in the car

There's nothing worse than forgetting something you absolutely need, like a stroller — but if it's always in the car, you can never forget it. “My trunk always has our stroller and infant carrier," Falin, 29, says. "And then depending on the day/activity, we bring stuff accordingly."

6. Pack for surprise activities

If you take a lot of road trips as a family, keep in mind what the kids are always happy to do. “I always bring a gym bag with swimsuits, goggles, flip-flops and flotation devices,” Susan adds. “Many times we stop at a hotel with a pool, and it's so nice to be able to say yes!”

7. Make kids as comfortable as possible

Cars aren’t necessarily designed with little ones in mind, so making changes to keep them cozy can make a big difference in how long they’re willing to go along for a ride. “My forward-facing kids all have a step stool so they don't get uncomfortable in the car with their legs dangling,” Susan says.

Legit Job Tips for Work-From-Home Parents

$

As a work-from-home parent, I find the thought of putting on "work clothes" and traveling beyond the four walls of my house to earn a living pretty grim. Don't get me wrong — working from home can be challenging, frustrating and exhausting, and it's not suited to everyone. But in my experience, the cons far outweigh the pros.

More: 7 Tips to Help Working Moms Maximize Their "Kid Time"

I love being able to set my own working hours, which allows me to do all the school drop offs and pick ups, and not caring peanuts about my appearance (unless I'm doing a conference call, in which case I will try to at least make my top half look semi-presentable). I have complete control over when I work, where I work and, to a certain extent, how much I earn.

To make working from home work for you, here are tips from the people who know best — work-from-home parents.

Beware of scams

But work-from-home jobs come in all varieties, and not all of them are legit. So my first tip for work-from-home parents would be: Beware of scams! If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Be wary of any job that requires you to part with cash upfront as well as anything that "promises" or "guarantees" overnight riches yet doesn't have a set pay rate. If you're considering a position but suspect it might be a scam, check with the Better Business Bureau or the Trade Commission

Consider what you're good at

As a growing number of parents seek work-from-home jobs, the market becomes more competitive. You have more chance of securing a great work-from-home job if you have the skills and experience to impress prospective employers. Make sure your résumé is up-to-date (check out these simple ways to refresh your résumé) and highlights the skills, experience and qualities necessary or desirable for the job you're applying for.

Lucrative work-from-home jobs include:

  • Freelance writing and/or editing
  • Home day care
  • Graphic/web design
  • Photography
  • Accountancy/bookkeeping
  • Human resources
  • Telemarketing
  • Programming/coding
  • Database entry
  • Virtual assistance
  • Fundraising/grant writing

Cast your net wide

There are a ton of resources out there to help you find work-from-home jobs. Check these out for starters:

  • Craigslist: It may have a name for scams (if anything asks for fees, bank details or other financial information, move right on), but you can find good work-from-home jobs on Craigslist. Check the "telecommute" box on the job search page in order to return a list of all work-from-home-friendly jobs.
  • Upwork: Formerly Elance, this is an excellent resource for finding online work positions.
  • Facebook/Twitter: Social media isn't just for posting pics of your kids and getting into heated political debates. If you follow the right people, you can find some sweet work-from-home gigs.
  • LinkedIn:  LinkedIn is quickly becoming one of the best online networking platforms. Many companies post job ads on LinkedIn before anywhere else, and features like Open Candidates give recruiters the signal that you're interested in remote work.
  • Guru: It's quick and easy to create a freelancer account on Guru, which is billed as the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent.
  • iFreelance: A variety of jobs are available on iFreelance in fields from accounting to writing.
  • Fiverr: Don't be put off by the fact that Fiverr is best known for $5 services. You can make good money through the site if you have an eye-catching profile and work hard to get great ratings from clients.
  • Indeed: More of a search engine than a jobs board, Indeed lets you create an online profile, upload your résumé and search job sites, newspapers, associations and company career pages.
  • Monster: Monster is one of the top job-hunting websites, which lets you filter your search for off-site/freelance opportunities.
  • WAHM.com: Created by a work-from-home mom to help others find flexible jobs, the site offers business opportunities and plenty of tips and advice for work-from-home parents.

Once you've bagged your ideal work-from-home job, you'll need to make a few lifestyle tweaks.

Get creative with childcare

You'll probably have to get creative with childcare because, well, you have no choice — unless you're lucky enough to have a work-from-home job during day care or school hours, in which case... hold onto it.

Childcare is a major expense whether you work in or out of the home. When you're working out what you can afford, calculate every billable hour against childcare costs. If you barely make enough to pay for childcare after taxes, you either need to try to earn more or rethink your childcare plan.

Less expensive options include help from friends, family and neighbors, hiring a mother's helper (such as a high school senior) and swapping playdates with other working parents. Michelle, a work-from-home mom from London, U.K., has an arrangement with her retired neighbor. "She looks after my kids for a couple of hours after school, twice a week, and in return I do her grocery shopping and wash her car," she tells SheKnows. "It works for both of us, and a lovely bonus is that she and my kids have developed a really great relationship."

Don't ignore your kids

Multitasking is a great skill, but you simply can't give 100 percent to your work and your kids at the same time.

It sounds obvious, but I've definitely been in the situation in which I'm deep "in the zone" and my kids are craving my attention. I've found that when I dedicate a set period of time to them, whether it's reading, drawing, walking the dog together or just having a chat, they're cool with amusing themselves when I go back to work for an hour or so.

Get excellent at time management

This is a no-brainer. To maximize efficiency, you have to make the most of every available moment. "If I'm waiting for a conference call, I'll pay some bills online, start planning my family's meals for the week or give the room a quick tidy up," says work-from-home mom Kristi from Miami, Florida. "This has actually made me more productive in all areas of my life. And when I do get the chance to sit down in the evening and relax, I can do so knowing I've achieved a lot during my working hours."

More: 4 Ways to Master Being a Single Working Mom

Remember: You're only human

You're a parent, not a superhero (except in your child's eyes, naturally). So don't put crazy pressure on yourself to be 100 percent on top of everything, 24-7. Things happen: Kids get sick and can't go to school, work projects go over deadline, the dog throws up just as you're about to Skype your boss...

"You just have to roll with it and keep a sense of humor," says work-from-home dad Tony from Brazoria County, Texas. "Working from home when you have kids presents some very unique challenges, and decent employers understand that. Being honest about setbacks and problems is the only way to establish a relationship of trust."

Working from home may not be for the fainthearted, but it can definitely be worth it.

What Is Miro Cheating & Is Your Partner Doing It?

$

Often when we think of cheating in dating, we associate it with physical infidelity. But there is another trending term called “micro-cheating” that is sweeping the dating scene.

“Micro-cheating is basically anything that crosses healthy and expected boundaries in a relationship, but stops short of physical infidelity,” says psychotherapist and dating coach, Toni Coleman.

“While physical cheating is obviously much more black and white, micro-cheating involves forms of subtle signals and patterns which demonstrate that you are not 100% focused on your partner. Evidently, the area in which these behaviors lie is far more grey,” adds Amanda Bacchus, M.S.W., R.M.F.T., founder and director of Vaughan Relationship Centre.

These inappropriate behaviors, or covert micro-aggressions are risky because they can and often do lead to something more and can be seriously damaging to the primary relationship, adds Lauren Dummit, a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified sex addiction therapist. “Although these inappropriate behaviors may seem like a gray area, they are typically executed without the partner’s knowledge.”

Some examples of micro-cheating include telling someone else that one is attracted to him or her, late night texts or messages, lying about relationship status on social media, intentionally leaving one’s wedding ring off, and lying to a partner about dinner or drinks with someone else.

“There is an element of dishonesty, whether the person is omitting truth or blatantly lying. Most people who dabble in these behaviors would be crushed to discover their partners were behaving similarly behind their backs,” says Dummit.

“Micro-cheating can also be that moment when away with a co-worker on business, they socialize with alcohol, one thing leads to another, and they kiss passionately and perhaps consider moving to something more,” adds Coleman.

Another common example is reconnecting with someone from their past, whether by phone or social media, and hiding it from the partner.

Micro-cheating can be hard to identify so there are some ways to tell if your partner is engaging in this behavior.

“If your partner is evasive on the topic of a co-worker who texts/calls often, it can be a sign. If a partner is keeping their phone with them at all times and using it out of earshot or if a partner is often working late suddenly or spending a great deal of unexplained time online—something is probably amiss,” says Coleman.

Dummit says that someone who is micro-cheating may also suddenly develop new interests, such as football, yoga, politics, salsa dancing, etc. in a way to get closer to this other person they’ve taken an interest in. “There could be changes in behavior or routines, like suddenly obsessively going to the gym.”

“You may notice he/she suddenly is not wearing their wedding ring,” says Dummit. And when you bring it up, they may come up with an excuse like, “I forgot”, or “I took it off to go to the gym”.

Above all, signs of secrecy and shady behaviors are what to look for.

“If you get the feeling that your partner is hiding something, you should confront them about it. When people seem like they’re hiding something, they usually are,” says Bacchus. "Remember, the main difference between harmless flirtation and micro-cheating is the intention behind the actions. Establishing their intentions when discussing the action with your partner will allow you to understand better if they really are emotionally cheating or not."

Is Gordon Ramsay Following in Bobby Flay's Footsteps With His New Show?

National Geographic is seriously stepping up its game. The network just announced two new shows, one with the master of culinary hellfire himself, Gordon Ramsay, and the other with looks-so-good-we-could-eat-him zaddy Jeff Goldblum. What did we do to deserve this? I guess the universe is finally trying to make up for 2017.

Now, I don't want to invoke the Gordon Ramsay gauntlet, but I can't be the only one who thinks Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted sounds uncannily like Throwdown with Bobby Flay.

The premise of the show is that Gordon Ramsay will travel to locations around the globe learning about different cultures and their foods. Then, he'll engage in culinary battle, trying to best local chefs making their most iconic dishes.

OK, so, the scope of the show is a little broader than just some Throwdown knockoff. According to the press release, "Each episode of UNCHARTED will include three key ingredients: unlocking a culture’s culinary secrets through exploration and adventure with local food heroes, no matter where they may lead him; tracking down high-octane traditions, pastimes and customs that are specific to the region in hopes of discovering the undiscovered; and, finally, testing Ramsay against the locals, pitting his own interpretations of regional dishes against the tried-and-true classics."

They'll also rely on Ramsay's athleticism (he's an Ironman athlete) for some adventurous excursions, like hunting for tarantulas in Cambodia and scaling the roofs of caves in Malaysian Borneo on the hunt for fresh nests.

More: Jeff Goldblum's Reddit AMA: No Cavities & Dolphin Dreams

It sounds exciting, though I'm a little leery of the competition aspect. Nothing like a white British dude going into a new country and trying to convince the locals he knows how to make their food better than they do, am I right? It smacks more than a little of colonialism, but hey, it would also be great if the set up is just to show Ramsay losing every single time because of course visiting a new country for a couple of days isn't enough for someone to both master and reinvent that region's most iconic dishes. Only time will tell!

Goldblum's show, The Curiosity of Jeff Goldblum, isn't exclusively food related. It's a 12-part documentary that will explore the science of things we often take for granted, which will include taking a look at how items like ice cream, coffee and cereal make it from farm to table. Hey, if there's anyone who could keep me absolutely rapt with attention while talking about the dairy supply chain, it's Jeff Goldblum. Preferably, while he's wearing a well-tailored suit and slightly unbuttoned shirt. Or a leather jacket. Really, the possibilities are endless.

It's not Goldblum's first foray into food television. He has a food show on Funny or Die called Cooking With Jeff Goldblum and Special Guest, two episodes of which are available to watch now.

Both new shows will premiere on National Geographic in 2019. Finally, something we can all look forward to!

Michelle Williams & Her New Stealth Husband Are Blended Family Goals

Michelle Williams is in love, and for the first time in a long time, she doesn't care who knows it. The actor, who notoriously keeps quiet on her relationships, told Vanity Fair that she married musician Phil Elverum in a private ceremony in the Adirondacks earlier this month, and honestly, their romance sounds like a dream.

"Obviously I've never once in my life talked about a relationship," she told the magazine. "But Phil isn't anyone else. And that's worth something. Ultimately the way he loves me is the way I want to live my life on the whole. I work to be free inside of the moment. I parent to let Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free."

Both Williams and her new beau, more commonly known by his musical moniker Mount Eerie, have suffered a great deal of heartbreak in the past. Before meeting Williams, Elverum was married to musician and illustrator Geneviève Castrée, who died in 2016 from pancreatic cancer. The two shared a daughter, who is now 3.

The death of a loved one is something familiar to Williams. In 2008, her ex, Heath Ledger, died from a drug overdose, leaving her to raise their then-2-year-old daughter, Matilda, alone.

"When you're a single parent, and that element of provider and protection is missing, it's scary," Williams told Vanity Fair of the experience.

More: Michelle Williams Says Heath Ledger's Death "Will Never Be Right"

Though the aftermath of Ledger's death was difficult, Williams said she still talks about him fondly to her daughter, now 12.

"I never gave up on love," she said. "I always say to Matilda, 'Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes."

I'm not 100 percent sure if I believe in fate, but it seems to me these two were destined to meet each other. Today, the blended family of four live together in New York, where they are exploring a new world of love and belonging. It doesn't get much sweeter than that.

As the doctor began threading the needle through my skin, I bit down hard to prevent myself from crying out in pain. The night before, I'd slipped and fallen onto a pair of dubiously placed wine glasses, and I sliced my arm open. After realizing the bleeding wasn’t going to stop on its own, I made an appointment at my University's health clinic.

Despite three injections of local anesthesia and painkillers to dull the pain, I could feel every puncture from the stitches in my arm. At the time, I assumed I was a giant baby or the doctor actually had no idea what he was doing. It was until a few years ago that I learned the likely culprit of my sensitivity to pain. The responsible party was my two little variant melanocortin 1 receptor alleles, MC1R, better known as the redhead gene.

More: You Can Now Blame Your Genes for Your Bad Sleeping Schedule

On average, gingers need 20 percent more general anesthesia than their blonde, brunette and black-haired counterparts, according to 2004 study in the Anesthesiology journal. In my experience, the anesthesia wears off as quickly as cheap nail polish, but does work initially. Another study in 2005, also published in Anesthesiology, showed that redheads are also more resistant to the effects of local anesthesia (the dentist is enemy No. 1). But beyond needing more pain meds, redheads have heaps of other health issues.

One author of the study, Dr. Daniela Robles-Espinoza, explained why redheads are more sensitive to UV rays and much more prone to melanoma, which has to do with the variant gene's inability to control the production of pigmentation that protects humans from DNA damage.

"Redheads cannot efficiently protect themselves from the sun," writes Robles–Espinoza. "Instead of producing the dark melanin, they produce another version which is red or yellow. It cannot protect against UV rays. It is useless in that aspect."

Before you start throwing a non-redhead theme party in honor of your lack of scarlet hair, put down the confetti. You may still be at risk for many of the same issues that plague gingers. A 2016 study in the journal Nature Communications found that many people carry one variant allele of the MC1R gene (it takes two to be a redhead).

The twist, according to Robles-Espinoza, is there are many people who carry the variant gene and may have a similar level of risk as card-carrying redheads. Having just one variant allele of MC1R could increase cancer mutations at a much faster rate, reaching the number found in a non-carrier 21 years older. Additionally, the redhead gene might show up in a family that hasn’t seen a ginger for decades. You may have no idea the variant allele is lurking in your DNA.

"Non-white people can carry the gene," says Robles-Espinoza. "Hispanics are a good example of that because we are a mixture of so many [nationalities]. Italians and Spanish surely have a lower proportion of the gene but even though they are more tan and dark-haired, they could still be carrying the gene."

More: A Guy Wouldn't Date Me Because I Have Red Hair

Although I am half Irish, nobody else in my family has red hair. There may be a third cousin or great aunt somewhere, but both my parents and two sisters are blondes. People rarely believe I am related to my two siblings because of my hair color and freckly skin. I spent a lot of my childhood unreasonably jealous of the dark tans my sisters enjoyed while I slathered on chalky SPF 100.

For me, the sun has always been more foe than friend, as I've cowered beneath umbrellas while growing up in Southern California. Despite my precautions, my sunscreen and shade are unlikely to protect me entirely from melanoma. A 2012 study published in Nature journal on mice with the red hair/fair skin phenotype and who had never been exposed to UV radiation showed the biological pathway that generates red pigment is in itself mutagenic. This could mean that being born a redhead may be in itself carcinogenic (cancer-causing). Awesome, let me go ahead and add that one to my list of doomsday anxieties.

After mentioning the mice study, Robles-Espinoza was quick to acknowledge that no such study on human subjects has taken place, but it does raise an interesting point. Being a redhead or carrying the gene may mean there are numerous other health issues hiding in the gene that scientists have yet to uncover. It also might reveal that redheads actually have superpowers (definitely) but for now, we’ll have to wait for the research to catch up to the many hypotheses out there.

In the meantime, redheads and non-redheads alike benefit greatly from avoiding the sun between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and adding sunscreen into their daily routines, says Robles-Espinoza. When I mentioned claims that typical sunscreen contains dangerous chemicals, she explained, "There are no studies that prove that they do any damage when used correctly, that is, when applied frequently when out in the sun." Any certified sunscreen over SPF 30 should do the trick, she added.

Although I'm not thrilled my redheadedness requires extra precautions and warnings to my dentist of my possible terror screams, I am happy to know this kind of niche research is taking place. Because, hey, maybe gingers really do have superpowers.

Michelle Williams' New Relationship Is Basically a Nicholas Sparks Love Story

In a turn of events that truly nobody saw coming, the world learned on Thursday, July 26 that actor Michelle Williams had secretly gotten married to musician Phil Elverum. The beans were spilled as part of an extensive profile as part of the September issue of Vanity Fair, which included Williams discussing the highly-publicized pay gap issue she found herself at the center of for her December 2017 film All the Money in the World and her life as a working mother.

More: All the Celebrity Couples Who Recently Said I Do

But really, it's the surprise wedding and the man Williams has said "I do" to that we cannot get over. Who is he? How did they meet? How are they going to be blending their lives together to create one harmonious union?

For those who are unfamiliar with his work, Elverum is a musician who performs under the name Mount Eerie. He's been working professionally as a musician since the mid-1990s, getting his start in a band called The Microphones. He also has one daughter, Agathe, from his first marriage to Geneviève Castrée, a Canadian musician and illustrator who sadly passed away in 2016.

As Williams told Vanity Fair, her connection with Elverum seems to have given her a new lease on life that she, a famously extremely private person, is finally ready to talk about. "Obviously I've never once in my life talked about a relationship," she explained. "But Phil isn't anyone else. And that's worth something. Ultimately the way he loves me is the way I want to live my life on the whole. I work to be free inside of the moment. I parent to let [my daughter] Matilda feel free to be herself, and I am finally loved by someone who makes me feel free."

The specifics remain fairly vague (par for the course when talking about two very private individuals who eschew social media or oversharing in the public eye) but the Vanity Fair profile notes that Williams and Elverum were introduced through mutual friends. Given that Williams' lifelong friend Busy Philipps posted a photo of her and Elverum together at the March for Our Lives demonstration in March of this year, as E! News notes, one might suspect that Philipps had something to do with their meeting.

Vanity Fair notes that the couple was married in front of a small group of friends and family somewhere in the Adirondacks in New York. Additionally, sometime in July, Elverum and Agathe packed up their everything, moving from Anacortes, Washington to Brooklyn to live with Williams and Matilda.

More: Michelle Williams & Her New Stealth Husband Are Blended Family Goals

Williams remarked to Vanity Fair that she hoped perhaps the highs and lows that is her romantic life can provide some special message for other women out there.

"I don’t really want to talk about any of it. But there’s that tease, that lure, that’s like, 'What if this helps somebody? What if somebody who has always journeyed in this way, who has struggled as much as I struggled, and looked as much as I looked, finds something that helps them?" she stated, continuing on to explain what lesson love has taught her thus far in her life. "Don’t settle. Don’t settle for something that feels like a prison, or is hard, or hurts you. If it doesn’t feel like love, it’s not love."

Become a Master of Back-to-School Shopping With These Tips & Tricks

With the upcoming fall season comes the changing of the leaves, that special smell in the air, the enthusiasm of a fresh school year — and, of course, the shopping. Are we the only suckers for the heady excitement of filling shopping carts with crisp composition notebooks and writing utensils galore?

But there are two things that usually happen when we are in the throes of BTS shopping: We start haphazardly tossing things into our cart and get so excited that we forget half the things we came for.

The following must-know back-to-school shopping tips will help you become a master and make it out of the store without having to schedule a follow-up trip. Because everyone wants a one-stop shopping experience that's time-efficient and a blast, right?

More: The Only Back-to-School Clothes Checklist You Need This Year

1. Follow back-to-school hashtags

Take advantage of living in the digital age. When you follow back-to-school hashtags, you can catch wind of great deals as soon as they hit the shelves. Bonus? Other parents will share their secrets and scores for your benefit. Check out: #backtoschool #backtoschoolshopping and #bts for starters.

2. Sign up for email alerts

If you have your eye on a particular prize — say, a super-cute Cat & Jack sequin unicorn backpack your kid has been begging for — see if you can set up an email alert for the brand (or even that specific item). If you set these up a few weeks out, you'll have time to monitor the price and spring into action when it's too good to pass up.

3. Utilize technology

Instead of toting around a handwritten list that's been folded so many times it looks like origami, consider filing your list digitally. After all, you'll probably lose a piece of paper, but it's far less likely your phone will wind up in the lost and found.

Wunderlist and Todoist both offer great options, but a quick Google search will yield a wide variety of apps to choose from for your list-making needs.

4. Create an online spreadsheet

Hop into Google Drive and create a shareable online spreadsheet to keep track of exactly what your student needs for the new school year. Not only is this a great visual to recenter your focus when you start wandering down the aisles aimlessly, but it's also perfect for sharing with family members who might be picking up supplies for your child.

5. Map your attack

If you're heading to Target for supplies (and, really, who isn't?) and prefer to shop in person rather than picking up or delivery, their store app is a lifesaver as well. It'll tell you what items your home store has in stock and even has a map of where each department is located.

Organize your list by department too. Then you can use the store map to figure out where you need to go in order instead of zigzagging and going from the clothing department to the office supplies and then back to clothing. Cutting out the back-and-forth will save you hours.

6. Nail your timing

Back-to-school, like the holiday season, is one of those times when everyone is shopping — so stores tend to get a little crowded. But if you avoid peak hours, you'll have a little more room to breathe and enjoy yourself.

How do we figure out what peak hours are, you ask? Don't worry; it's easy. Go to Google and search "[the name of the store you are going to] near me" ("Target near me," for example). A list of the nearest stores will pop up.

Back-to-school shopping tips

Click the store near you and scroll down a little below "See what's in store," and you'll find a graph of popular times. It'll even give you a live view of how busy it is at that moment in time.

Back-to-school shopping tips

7. Eat breakfast

Now is not the time to skip your morning meal; you need sustenance! Back-to-school shopping can be fun, but it's also pretty much a marathon. You need your energy while looking for the best loose-leaf notebook paper and three-ring binders.

If your kids are coming along for the shopping experience, make sure they eat a wholesome breakfast and have an energy-boosting snack to scarf down too.

It’s a happy day for Michael Bublé and his wife Luisana Lopilato: On Wednesday, July 25 the couple welcomed their third child — and first daughter — to the world.

The couple announced the baby’s arrival on Instagram on Thursday, with an adorable black-and-white photo of a tiny little newborn hand. Lopilato captioned the photo in Spanish, her native language, but — when translated — the post reads: “How to explain that our heart explodes with love? That there’s not enough hours in a day to think about it. I thank God for making us this gift of life and happiness! Because looking in her eyes is looking at heaven itself!”

According to USA Today, Bublé and Lopilato’s little bundle of joy is named Vida Amber Betty, and when Vida gets home, she will joined by her big brothers Elias, 2, and Noah, 5.

Bublé and Lopilato have had a rough few years. In 2016, Noah — the couple’s oldest son — was diagnosed with liver cancer. Both parents put their careers on hold to care of Noah. However, in April 2017 Lopilato revealed their son was doing much better, and in November 2017 Bublé announced he would be returning to the stage.

PEOPLE confirmed that the couple was expecting in February, and earlier this month, Bublé revealed that their third child would in fact be a girl. “I got my first little girl coming in three weeks,” Bublé said on Ireland’s Today FM radio’s The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show. “I’ve actually never said that before in public [but] I’ve got a daughter coming.”

The Real Reason You Can't Stop Watching Those Pimple-Popping Videos

If you can't stop watching Dr. Sandra Lee's (better known as Dr. Pimple Popper) videos, you've got plenty of company. In addition to her Instagram account, which boasts nearly 3 million followers, Lee has launched a skin care line and has her own show on TLC

The squeamish among us often need to look away, but the proof is in the numbers: Millions of people find these videos appealing. "The best-studied reason for why people like seeing videos and TV shows featuring medical procedures is the process of curing someone of the disease," psychiatrist Dr. Damian Jacob Sendler tells SheKnowsnoting that we like to see broken bones get fixed, bleeding stopped with pressure and brain tumors that get sucked up into surgical vacuums.

"It makes us feel as if the disease process is being eliminated," Sendler says.

More: 5 Things Dr. Pimple Popper Wishes Her Patients Knew About Their Skin

There's also the matter of disgust being a survival mechanism. "While watching gross videos featuring popping pimples on Dr. Lee’s show or eating bugs on Fear Factor satisfies our inner curiosity about how other people can do these gross things and 'survive,' the underlying reason why we like to expose ourselves to these materials is to learn how to deal with these gross situations ourselves," Sendler explains.

Dr. Hersha Diaz, licensed clinical psychologist, also tells SheKnows that at least part of the fascination with these videos may be biological in nature. "[The videos] appear to trigger an adaptive response that developed as we evolved to understand the importance of removing dangerous parasites or cysts from our bodies in order to improve survival," Diaz says.

Viewers experience a sense of relief when the potential source of harm is removed, triggering the release of the "feel-good" chemical dopamine, Diaz explains.

More: What Happens to Your Skin When You Pop a Pimple

For her part, Lee tells SheKnows that she thinks her videos are appealing because they make many people feel happy, content and relaxed. "There's a sense of completion, of cleansing. It calms people with some obsessive-compulsive tendencies," Lee explains.

Diaz says that in addition to communicating a potential harm, the inclination to share Dr. Pimple Popper's videos with our family and friends may also be to "share the sense of relief and enjoyment that one experiences from this internet sensation."

More: If You're Into Pimple Popping, Here's Just the Product for You

The videos also serve what is arguably an even more important purpose: According to Lee, people who have a tendency to pick at their own skin when they're stressed have told her that watching the videos helps them kick this habit and keep their hands off their own skin.

Lee says the videos may also give people a rush, comparing it to what we may feel when we ride a roller coaster or watch a scary movie. "I think it's fascinating for many people to see what can come out of the skin of a regular, normal, healthy human," she tells SheKnows.

And, going back to Sendler's point that the appeal is related to humans' survival mechanism, he adds that the videos show there are solutions for us if we ever develop the same skin problem. "It's all an innate survival strategy — learning to deal with something by looking at tested solutions," he explains.

Whether they give you a rush, assure you that (almost) any skin problem can be remedied or both, it doesn't appear that the fascination with Lee's videos is going to die down any time soon. And, luckily for us, now we have a TV show and social media to satisfy all our pimple-popping viewing needs.

How to Coexist (& Co-parent) With Your Kids’ Stepmother

$

My ex-husband and his new wife were a picture-perfect couple. So much so that they were photographed for the cover of Crain’s Chicago Business magazine. They were featured in an article about how stepparents are supposedly either relegated to support status or are simply invisible.

But his new wife wasn’t invisible. She posed with him and our three children on the front steps of my house — sorry, now their house— as if she had lived there for more than two months, as if she had been mothering my children for years. She was being interviewed because she had started a support group for other women like her.

“There was an air of relief for all of us,” she was quoted as saying about their first support meeting. “Somebody gets it!”

I’m glad that someone "got" her. I’m even glad that she "got" my husband. And she wasn’t even the woman my husband left me for; in fact, I had to wonder if she knew she was one in a line of many. My friend, also divorced, suggested that we “save a seat on the bench” for her when the revolving door began turning next.

More: 5 Harsh Truths About Co-parenting With an Ex

I didn’t want to be cynical. I hoped, because my ex-husband married her, that she might have a successful and long-lasting role as my kids’ stepparent. Reading the article about her enthusiastic efforts to start a supportive community made me feel that she earnestly wanted to do a good job.

Perhaps to match her enthusiastic efforts, I suggested that the three of us meet with our kids’ therapist to discuss what her duties as stepmother would entail. Would she pick them up from school? Should I call her or their father to arrange afternoon activities? What did she want the kids to call her?

After each question, she looked to my ex-husband, as if he would answer. He didn’t. It was clear the two of them hadn’t discussed any of this, which resulted in a vague, unsatisfying conversation until the therapist stepped in and suggested that my ex and I continue to coordinate all child matters between us.

More: Can Kids Benefit From Instability?

As time passed, it was apparent that to our two boys, she was the new wife. They resisted anything resembling mothering from her and, truthfully, weren’t always nice to her. But to my daughter, just 9 years old at the time, she was much more. They became close, and my daughter genuinely enjoyed her company.

I quickly learned that coexisting peacefully with my ex-husband’s new wife would ultimately make life more peaceful for me and my kids. By controlling my own behavior, I could support their relationship. So here are some simple rules I set for myself that helped me successfully interact with her in a positive way.

  • Be polite. This is another version of the golden rule and should be extended to bad drivers, telemarketers and, yes, even stepmothers.
  • Be firm about who’s the parent. Politeness doesn’t mean rolling over and abdicating all authority. Two natural childbirths and a caesarean earned me the final say in big-picture kid matters such as summer camps, doctor visits and whether my daughter is allowed to dye her hair. It’s also true that when the kids are at their dad’s, I need to let him make day-to-day decisions about them — without me undermining him. This is a balance that’s hard enough to achieve with two parents; three is definitely a crowd, so stand your ground.
  • Take nothing personally; we’re all doing the best we can. If my own kids often surprise and baffle me, how can I expect a newcomer to understand them? This is where having a spirit of sisterhood is appropriate, and giving their stepmother the benefit of the doubt goes a long way.
  • Don’t take sides. There were times when my boys would complain about the new wife, and my daughter would tearfully defend her. Neutral phrases like, “I’m sure you’ll work it out,” and, “It sounds like you’re having very different experiences and that’s OK,” helped me sympathize with my kids without slipping into trash talk about their stepmother.
  • Be fair. This is my simplest but most challenging rule. I had to admit that fairness did not always equal what I wanted. When my kids’ stepmother did something they thought was cool, like call them “dude” and buy them video games, I needed to praise her, even if it was through gritted teeth.

More: How to Help Kids Through a Messy Divorce

Flash-forward four years, and the then-new wife and my ex-husband have also parted ways. Yet she remains a loving presence in my daughter’s life. They shop, trade makeup, meet for brunch, see movies. Curiously, now that we share an ex-husband, when he isn’t around, there is no strain between us. Not long ago, we both showed up at one of my daughter’s basketball games and we sat beside each other, literally sharing seats on a bench, as predicted. We both were focused on my daughter, cheering her on. And that’s just the way it ought to be.

How Tarek El Moussa Feels About Being Neighbors With His Ex

It looks like Tarek El Moussa is going to be very familiar with his new neighbor, who will live right down the street from him as he gets settled in his new bachelor pad in Costa Mesa, California. You guessed it: after a public, emotional rollercoaster of a split and the uneasy navigation back to normal, we learned on Friday that Tarek is going to be neighbors with his ex-wife, Christina El Moussa. So, how does he feel about it?

More: This Is How Tarek El Moussa Characterizes His Divorce From Christina El Moussa

Talking to E! News, Tarek joked, "I'm like, 'Get out of my neighborhood!'" when explaining his reaction to the funny turn of events. But on a more serious note, Tarek made it clear once again that he and Christina were cool and that, if anything, them living still living close to one another would be the best for their children, Taylor and Brayden.

"The great thing is we are so close we can see the kids more often," he told the news outlet. "Taking them to school is not a half hour drive anymore, it's a five-minute drive. And, I think having both houses in the same community will make the kids have a sense of community, a sense of home."

It's yet another silver lining Tarek has found in this new chapter of his life, which now includes moving into his very own place (one of those aforementioned houses that his kids will have to call home) and getting it all ready for his new life. According to E!, the house flipper went into full remodel mode, making over the kid's rooms (a cars theme for Brayden and mermaids galore for Taylor), and sprucing up different areas of the home, including a yoga studio, 26-foot fireplace and spacious backyard and pool.

Disney Is Removing Plastic Straws From Their Theme Parks, Cruise Ships & Resorts

It seems like straws are in the news every day now, and for good reason — straw waste is a very real thing. According to the National Park Service, Americans use 500 million drinking straws every day. (Yes, every day.) And since plastic straws are not recyclable, these “disposable” products don’t disappear; instead, they end up in landfills; in rivers, lakes or oceans; and/or blowing down the street.

Luckily, The Walt Disney Company is working to change all that: on Thursday, the company announced they would be eliminating single-use straws and stirrers from all their properties. This includes their cruise ships, their resorts and their theme parks with the exception of Disney Tokyo.

The change, slated to go into effect by mid-2019, will lead to a “reduction of more than 175 million straws and 13 million stirrers annually.”

More: Your Next Trip to Disney World Is Going to Be More Expensive

“Eliminating plastic straws and other plastic items are meaningful steps in our long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Disney Parks, experiences and consumer products. “These new global efforts help reduce our environmental footprint, and advance our long-term sustainability goals.”

Disney’s statement comes just weeks after Starbucks announced they would be phasing out plastic straws and less than a month after Seattle announced it would be instituting a citywide ban on straws and other plastic utensils. San Francisco is also in the process of enacting a straw ban, which, if approved, will go into effect next July.

But how will this news affect those traveling to the happiest place on Earth? According to Disney, several changes will be coming over the next few years; however, the most notable is the transition to refillable in-room amenities, a move that is expected to reduce plastic by 80 percent, the company estimates.

Of course, this change may be hard for some to swallow, but Disney is definitely doing the right thing.

It's something we've all mumbled while shoving pizza down our gullet: "If I could get paid *chews* for eating pizza, *takes another bite* I'd be rich." Well, here's a napkin to wipe those greasy fingers, because your dream job just opened up, and it requires you to hop on Google Flights and book a flight to the U.K., stat.

MyOffers, a U.K.-based website, has announced it's looking to fill two open positions as part of their Testers Keepers program: Pizza Hut secret diners. Job duties include taking their money (£125 or $165 USD), handing it to the cashier at Pizza Hut, eating all the pizza, taking photos and, finally, writing up a review published on MyOffers.
