Updated Dec. 15, 2017, 10 a.m. PT: Ladies and gentlemen, we have a date! According to the official Kensington Palace announcement today, we can all tune in to see Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot on May 19.

"His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018," the palace announced in a tweet. "Today's announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle."

There still hasn't been an exact time announced, so we Americans don't know yet what time to set our alarms for. But all in good time, fam.

Updated Nov. 30, 2017, 7:30 a.m. PT: Obviously the entire royal family is pretty excited for Prince Harry right now. He and Meghan Markle finally announced their long-anticipated engagement, and so far, every member of the family that's spoken out has had nothing but words of excitement and encouragement for the prince and his bride-to-be.

But no one has hopes for the future quite as high as Prince William's.

While William was in Finland touring a child welfare charity, reporters couldn't resist asking him what he thinks about his little brother's engagement. And boy, does the eldest prince have some thoughts.

Prince William's thoughts on Harry and Meghan Markle

"For me, personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and stops him from scrounging for food as he’s done over the last few years," he said.

Dream big, Will.

Updated Nov. 28, 2017, 9:14 a.m. PT: We can't imagine any woman (or man) is allowed to join the royal family without getting the nod of approval from the queen. The former Kate Middleton's permission, on the other hand, likely isn't necessary, but considering her close relationship with Prince Harry, we're sure her opinions hold a lot of weight. So what does the Duchess of Cambridge think of her brother-in-law's engagement? “William and I are absolutely thrilled,” she said according to People. “It’s such exciting news. It’s a really happy time for any couple and we wish them all the best and hope they enjoy this happy moment.”

So bride-to-be Meghan Markle — who will most likely be granted the title of Duchess of Sussex — is being welcomed into the family with open arms before she says I do to Prince Harry in spring 2018.

Original story published Nov. 27, 2017: It happened, fam. It. Finally. Happened. On Monday, Nov. 27, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle confirmed they are actually engaged. This is a big moment for fans across the world because we've been waiting for this day to arrive. So, if you're like us, you need all of the details and fast. Fear not. We've got them all right here for you, so keep reading.

These two and their love story have had us swooning since it was revealed they had started dating last year. And that's not about to stop now, because one of the first details we learned about their engagement is that Harry asked Markle's parents for her hand before he popped the big question. How sweet is he?!

Prince Charles, Harry's father, revealed that little detail in his statement announcing the engagement, which said that he "sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents."

Markle's parents, not to be left out of this joyous day, released a statement of their own.

"We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry," they said via a statement released by Kensington Palace shortly following the news. "Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together."

Of course, we have to know what the queen had to say about this news. Obviously, she approves since the engagement would have to go through her before becoming official. For her public statement, released along with her husband, Prince Philip, the queen kept things short and sweet. She and Philip "are delighted for the couple and wish them every happiness."

The statement continued with this warm sentiment: "We’re both thrilled. We hope they’ll be very happy indeed."

Following the engagement announcement, Harry and Markle attended a photo-call in London, where they posed for reporters and offered a few brief answers to questions. They also confirmed their wedding is set for spring 2018. Today was on the scene and captured a video of the couple looking positively giddy over the big step they've taken in their relationship.

That's also where we got our first glimpse of the ring, which we've obviously been dying to see. A source told E! News that Harry designed it himself before having it made by Cleave & Company, court jewelers and medalists to Queen Elizabeth II. The center stone is reportedly from Botswana, where Harry and Markle celebrated her 36th birthday together, and the side stones come from Princess Diana's personal collection according to reports. The three stones are set on a classic gold band. Oh, and did we mention that the ring is massive?

We expected nothing less than a ring that stunning for future royalty.

Halle Berry Is Officially Giving Up on Love

How many of us have said after a particularly rough breakup that we're giving up on love? We've all been there. Halle Berry is there right now.

Just a few days after her breakup with Alex da Kid, Berry posted a photo to her Instagram story showing a rope in the shape of a heart. Over it, she drew a red heart, then wrote, "Done with love." She included a few flexing emojis, just in case anyone forgot she's a hella strong woman and doesn't need no man.

It's super sad that Berry is feeling this bummed about her breakup. But breakups always suck, and we have no doubt she'll be back in the game in no time.

It was just earlier this week that Us Weekly confirmed the breakup via an anonymous source. We didn't want to believe it was true, but Berry's Insta story doesn't really leave anything to the imagination here. They were a cute couple from the minute they confirmed their relationship, back in September when they both posted on Instagram the same black and white photo of themselves cuddling up. Berry captioned it, "My balance."

Viral Video Shows Hectic Reality of Stay-at-Home Parents

There’s an irksome little stereotype that has trailed stay-at-home moms since the phrase was first coined. It’s the idea that these moms — "housewives," if you will — do nothing but sit around, snack and gossip all day while Dad slaves away at work. One mom just reminded her partner (and the world) this couldn't be further from the truth.

After getting fed up with her partner assuming she just "hung out all day," Gemma Chalmers, a stay-at-home mother of one, shared a time-lapse video of what her typical day looks like.

“All weekend my lovely partner has been moaning that I do nothing all day, so I thought I’d show him a full day,” she posted on Facebook. “Before I even started this video I had two smashed glasses to clean up as the little man thought it [would] be funny to throw then [sic] off the kitchen unit. I emptied the dishwasher, gave the little man breakfast, managed to get a quick shower(with the little man coming and checking on me throughout) changed his bum and got dressed myself.”

More: It's hard being the young mom in a sea of older moms

That's all before the start of Chalmer's time-lapse video in which we see her in the role of maid, nurse and so much more. In her own words, Chalmer's basically “a cleaner, a driver, a cook, a storyteller, a nurse, a playmate, a toddler wrestling coach, a teacher, an art director, a potty trainer, a champion tickler, a wardrobe stylist, a personal dresser, a laundry operator, a personal shopper...” You get the idea.

More: How the "mommy needs wine" trend makes new motherhood harder for some

For any parent of a young child, even a day off from work is never really a “day off.” While you can always let work emails and calls go unanswered for a while, you can't stockpile all those diaper changes for later. Chalmers’ video is the perfect glimpse into the complex role of parent on the home front (yes, this goes for stay-at-home dads too) — the parents who, as Time magazine’s Belinda Luscombe puts it, “are not working for pay outside the home.” Got that? They are not working for pay or outside the home — but they are absolutely working.

The best part of Chalmer's video is probably the dig at her partner. Sorry, bro: No more saying, “Enjoy your day off,” or “What have you done all day?”

Maybe those two lovebirds should trade places for a day? I spy a killer comedy screenplay in the making.

My Perspective on Health Changed After Losing My Mother

$

Although it has been nearly a year now, it feels like almost no time has gone by since my mom passed away at the beginning of the year. A lot has happened since then too, like my brother getting married, starting my career as a full-time freelance writer and moving to a new town to live with my girlfriend. Losing a parent and dealing with that grief is a lot for anyone to deal with, but I have another added layer to my grief that I’m only beginning to unpack and learn to deal with: the fact that I could get sick too.

We found out my mom might have cancer in late February 2016. It was only two days after my grandpa died after steadily going downhill in a matter of weeks. I was already exhausted with my grief from his passing, and the last thing I expected was to hear my mom might be sick too. She went in for surgery prep several weeks later to have the tumors in her uterus removed, and they discovered she also had lung cancer that already metastasized to her brain. The news of lung cancer shouldn’t have been shocking since my mom was a heavy smoker and her mom died from lung cancer when I was 18, but it was. She was only 52, far younger than the average diagnosis age of 70.

More: How to Support Someone With Breast Cancer

The doctor decided the lung cancer was more serious than the tumors, so she spent the summer and fall alternating between chemo and radiation. It shrank the cancer in her lungs and brain some, but not enough to stop the progression. In November, Mom finally had her surgery, a total hysterectomy, and spent much of the rest of her life recovering from it. Right after Christmas, she visibly began to get worse, and it was decided during a hospitalization that hospice would step in. The original plan was to bring Mom hope and take care of her there, but she deteriorated so quickly she went into inpatient hospice instead. Three days later, she was gone.

I didn’t know what to feel at first. I’d been dealing with loss and grief for nearly a year straight and didn’t really know how to function without it anymore. I saw a grief counselor that helped me work through a lot of issues I had with my mom. I’d been journaling pretty regularly ever since my grandpa seemed likely to pass, and it helped me collect and analyze my thoughts, tracking the progression or regression of mourning.

Just when I felt I was finally getting to a manageable place emotionally, I discovered my risk of getting cancer was much higher than I’d thought. A family history of endometrial cancer in a parent increases the risk of the child getting it. I also went through precocious puberty, which is also associated with higher cancer risk. Given that both my mom and grandma had lung cancer and the possible link between family history and lung cancer, my own odds didn’t feel very good.

More: Having Breast Cancer at 32 Put Me in Control of My Body

For a while, I simply ignored it. I was used to being chronically ill and having my body work against me, so this didn’t seem much different to me. If I were eventually diagnosed with cancer, it would simply be one more thing for me to deal with if or when it happened.

I started thinking about it a little more and realized that, although there wasn’t anything I could have done to prevent my chronic illnesses, there might be things I could do to decrease my chances of cancer. I could also learn healthy ways to live with the knowledge that I could get sick someday. Psychologist Roya R. Rad recommends finding a way to acknowledge and accept what you’re feeling, which I had to learn to do. I had to allow myself to feel uncertain and afraid so I could learn to live with an unknown future.

Dr. Patrick O’Malley, the author of Getting Grief Right, says it’s helpful for people to write their “grief story" to expose “beauty, pain, and the complexity of your emotions.” My grief counselor also recommended I utilize my writing as a way to both deal with my grief and potential health complications. I had already been writing a lot, but it was more superficial than it could have been, not as introspective as I needed. Writing feels like one of the biggest helps in my grieving process.

More: How Having Cancer Changed the Way I Look at Dating

Talking about my grief to the people in my life has also been helpful. They’ve encouraged me to take my time with myself and to talk to my gynecologist about the best ways to be proactive about my health. As a result, I’ve been keeping even better track of my body than I had before when I was just monitoring my chronic illness. It is impossible to know what my future holds, but I want to take care of myself until I know.

Chrissy Metz has a new role in the works, and fans may be a little surprised to hear about it. Metz will reportedly star in the Los Angeles revival of Fat Pig, a 2007 New York play by Neil LaBute.

More: Chrissy Metz Addresses Backlash to Those Fat Stereotypes on This Is Us

Fat Pig, described by Deadline as a "disturbing drama," follows a young man who falls in love with a smart, sexy and accomplished woman named Helen, who also happens to be fat. First, his circle of friends finds it funny. Then they decide the match isn't right because of Helen's size.

Metz has already played the part of Helen in a one-night reading of the play. When it opens at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse on May 23, it'll mark her stage debut. Metz is already well known for her role in NBC's This Is Us.

Metz is a strong, smart woman, and we know she wouldn't take a role that disparages her, other women or fat women in general. That said, the play doesn't have a great reputation for how it treats its female characters, especially Helen. Luckily, Deadline reports, it's getting a minor rewrite before the revival opens that its writer claims will make its female characters more three-dimensional.

"Not long after Fat Pig’s extended run at the Geffen, I decided to expand the play to include another office scene and a varied take on the ending," LaBute told Deadline. "Both of these additions give new voice to the female characters in particular, yet I have never allowed the material to be added to a production until now. I have waited for a revival that excited me and that I could be an intimate part of, and I’ve now found that opportunity in the return of this play to its Los Angeles home."

Those in L.A. can start seeing previews of Fat Pig beginning May 16. We'll just have to wait until then to know for sure if the new script is worthy of Metz's badassery.

Yes, you read that right.

The wine will be available beginning January 2018 (assuming all the new legislation for marijuana's recreational use in California go through as planned), though Rebel Coast Winery is already taking preorders on the vintage. It is available to California residents who are over the age of 21.

According to the company website, the marijuana-infused sauvignon blanc has 4 milligrams of THC per serving and it takes about 15 minutes to feel the effects.

"Our goal is not to kill you after you've had a few glasses," the company further explains. "The goal is to get giggly and naked with someone. We set out to mimic the experience you'd find with traditional wine; a couple glasses will put most people in a great place."

Even better? No alcohol means no hangover.

The flavor of the wine is not marijuana-heavy according to Rebel Coast. Instead, the forward flavors are high acid, bright citrus and a crisp, clean finish.

"Winemakers have been making infused wine for years, but no one developed a reliable method to remove the alcohol and infuse it with cannabis' active ingredients in a way that wasn't impacting the quality of the wine," Rebel Coast founder Alex Howe explained in a press release.

Ben Affleck has been through a lot of changes of late, but there's one thing he's making sure stays consistent: his sobriety. Affleck has been pretty transparent about his goal to stay clean, and that means continuing treatment even as he's moving regularly across the country to be with his family in Los Angeles and his girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, in New York City.

More: Ben Affleck Wants to Help End Sexual Harassment in Hollywood

"Ben’s main priorities have never wavered," a source close to the family told Us Weekly. "He’s focused on his family and spending time with Lindsay [Shookus]. Dealing with this disease is something he’ll have to work on for the rest of his life, and he remains focused on it."

That means Affleck has a treatment plan and a support system that includes multiple treatment centers on both side of the country, Us Weekly reports. He's been spotted at several treatment centers around L.A.

Affleck has been fighting alcohol addiction for a long time. He completed his first treatment program in 2001 and has struggled to stay clean since then. In March, he posted a long, heartfelt message to Facebook explaining that he had been struggling with his addiction and was seeking help again.

"I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step. I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my coparent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery."

Hopefully, his current support system is just what Affleck needs to stay on track.

Drew Scott & Linda Phan's First Wedding Dance Will Have a DWTS Twist

With visions of Italian decadence dancing around in their heads already, it's tough to imagine how HGTV star Drew Scott and his fiancée, Linda Phan, could be turning up the greatness of their wedding a couple notches. On top of having an intimate Italian wedding, Scott and Phan will add a little Dancing With the Stars into the mix. With the help of Scott's recent DWTS dance partner, pro Emma Slater, he and Phan are going to incorporate some of the DWTS magic he no doubt picked up during his recent stint on the reality competition show. How cute is that?

From the rest of the caption, it looks like this dance rehearsal will be a part of an upcoming episode of Property Brothers at Home. This undoubtedly means that we'll not only get a look at these dance rehearsals, we may even get to see more reactions from Phan about taking dance lessons and the rest of Scott's family when they hear just how the couple is preparing for their first big wedding dance.

Selena Gomez Called a 'Disturbed Individual' After Wrapping 13 Reasons Why Season 2

On Tuesday, Selena Gomez excitedly announced that she was done shooting the second season of her popular Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. But for one father, the wrap wasn’t exciting news at all — it was a painful reminder that his daughter committed suicide shortly after she binge-watched the show’s first season last April.

In an interview with RadarOnline, John Herndon, a dad from California whose 15-year-old daughter, Bella, hung herself in her closet after watching 13 Reasons Why, slammed Gomez and Netflix for glamorizing suicide and leading to his child’s death.

“I’m still completely disgusted,” Herndon said. “Selena makes me sick. She is an extremely disturbed individual to think that this show has any kind of redeeming social value at all.”

Herndon told the outlet that his wife, Donna, found their daughter hanging in her closet on April 18, 2017. She was immediately rushed to the hospital and died 10 days later. After his daughter’s funeral, Herndon discovered that she had binge-watched 13 Reasons Why shortly before her death.

Since then, Herndon has been on a mission to stop production on the series, which centers on a high school student who commits suicide and sends tapes to people whose actions led to her death, and force its creators (including Gomez, who serves as executive producer) to take accountability. Herndon believes that the show triggered his daughter, who was battling depression, to commit suicide.

“Remember that there are teens out there that are in a little darker place and these could be your friends, your sisters,” Herndon said. “Selena Gomez and Netflix need to understand that not everybody’s going to understand this very well. Some people who are battling with depression, this could catch them at the wrong time, creating what is called the trigger event.”

After repeated efforts to reach out to Gomez and her team to ask them to remove their support for the series and demand that Netflix end production, Herndon claims that he received “no response.” Due to financial setbacks, Herndon does not have any current plans to sue Gomez or Netflix, though he claims he would do it “in a heartbeat” if he did have the resources.

“Suing a billion-dollar company like Netflix is not within my means right now unless there are other like-minded individuals that want to engage collectively together to bring a suit against them,” Herndon said.

Right now, he’s focused on raising awareness that the series, which has been touted for opening up discussions about mental health and suicide, has a negative effect on many families. “I’ve seen too many posts by the creators who indignantly say it’s helped more people than it’s hurt,” Herndon said. “How many people have to be hurt before somebody aside from me stands up and says, ‘You know, this is wrong’?”

Lauren Conrad on Mom-Shaming & Why She Doesn’t Instagram Her Son

At 31 years old, Lauren Conrad doesn’t consider herself a millennial. “I feel like I’m right at the breaking point,” she tells StyleCaster, explaining she's now at an age when she has an Instagram, but doesn’t use it religiously.

Conrad, best known for her time on MTV’s reality shows Laguna Beach and The Hills, has a conflicted relationship with social media. After spending nearly nine years on reality television, where every breakup, make up and teary mascara fight was broadcast to the world (whether or not she wanted it to be), Conrad finally feels like she’s in the driver’s seat.

“I’ve spent so many years on reality television where I had to share as much of my life as they wanted, so now, I feel like I’m able to keep things more private,” she says at the grand opening of the Kellogg’s cereal café at New York City’s Union Square. (Her favorite cereal growing up was Rice Krispies.)

Conrad’s past is likely why she’s wary about what she shares online and curates her social media to include only what she’s comfortable with.

“To be able to enjoy moments with myself and not need to broadcast them is so special to me,” Conrad says. “I do share little things, but I’m definitely not an oversharer. I only share what I’m comfortable with. I feel like you don’t need to put everything out there.”

Conrad’s caution about social media is also likely why you’ll be hard-pressed to find many pictures of her 5-month-old son, Liam — whom she shares with musician husband, William Tell — on her Instagram. After seeing other famous moms being shamed on social media, Conrad purposefully kept photos of her son off Instagram to avoid being scrutinized.

“I haven’t [experienced mommy-shaming], but I have purposefully not posted a lot about my child,” she says. “Only because, especially as a first-time mom, there’s already so much pressure on you. I don’t feel like putting on any more. It’s hard. It’s one of the hardest times in your life, and it’s a shame that women aren’t more supportive of each other.”

Though Conrad admits she hasn’t really thought about whether she would be OK with her son being on reality TV in the future, she has put some thought into whether she’ll allow him to watch her on The Hills. “I don’t think I would necessarily sit him down and show him clips,” she says. “But I think you can’t control what your kids want to watch alone.”

But first, Conrad says, she knows there are plenty of steps to take before she crosses that bridge. “Right now, we’re just really focused on him being tiny and cute and learning how to smile,” she says. “We haven’t gotten that far.”

Chrissy Teigen is never shy about showing her true self on social media — lopsided breasts and all. On Thursday, the model posted a relatable Snapchat proudly displaying her uneven chest from months of one-sided breastfeeding.

The picture showed an aerial view of Teigen’s cleavage, with one breast looking noticeably larger than the other. In her caption, Teigen admitted that the lopsidedness was a result of nursing her 1-year-old daughter, Luna, primarily on one side. (Now that she’s pregnant with her second child with her husband, John Legend, she also made sure to note that the disproportion was from her past breastfeeding experience, not to suggest that she already gave birth to No. 2.)

“View from above. I really should have nursed out of both boobs (when I nursed),” Teigen wrote.

Lopsided boobs aren’t unusual for first-time moms. The unevenness, which is already a natural trait for many women, is caused during breastfeeding when the baby prefers one breast over another, resulting in the body producing a supply that caters to the demand according to an expert at Breastfeeding Basics. Or the sizing could occur when one breast naturally produces more milk, causing it to swell larger than the other.

Plus, now that Teigen is in the midst of her second pregnancy, her breasts are changing to prepare for Round 2 of breastfeeding.

These five OB-GYNs and health professionals are taking over social media with a message of support and turning their own platforms into resources for all those interested. Their take on Twitter is a welcomed change from the anxiety-inducing rhetoric that can sometimes exist — and that sometimes prompts a need for some major self-care.

Dr. Leah Torres

Torres (@LeahNTorres) is an OB-GYN and abortion provider in Utah. On Twitter, you can find her debunking the common myths that surround abortions — like that they’re not safe, that the people who provide them aren’t real health care professionals or that there’s a link between abortion and breast cancer. Torres began her Twitter career posting a medical fact every day, and when abortion opponents confronted her, she pushed back, unwilling to let harmful ideas about a common medical procedure be perpetuated. Her feed is a wealth of information, not just about abortion, but also about birth controlpregnancysexual health and the politics of health care. It’s also a great account to follow if you’re looking for someone who vocally (and regularly) affirms the fact that people have abortions, not just women.

Dr. Priya Agrawal

In her Twitter bio, Agrawal (@priya__agrawal), an OB-GYN, describes herself as using her tweets “to help those who are silenced.” (In other words, the kind of person we need more of on social media in general.) She’s the executive director of vaccines and women’s health at Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp. in the U.K. She tweets about maternal health, in particular maternal mortality, and also about the importance of making vaccines accessible, especially for HPV, and why it’s vital for boys to get the vaccine. Her account is a great crash course in how women are impacted by global health disparities.

Dr. Sophia Yen

Yen (@teenmd) is a Silicon Valley-based OB-GYN who specializes in reproductive health. She’s a provider at Pandia Health, an online service that streamlines the process of getting recurring medicines, in particular birth control. You can find her on Pandia answering questions about birth control, going into detail about methods and clearing up confusion. Her focus is adolescent medicine, so on her feed, you can find tweets about teens and addiction, teens’ (often problematic) relationships to social media, why it’s vital that particularly teenagers can access birth control and why it’s critical that role models for young women be visible. 17 Popular 2017 Baby Names We Never Saw Coming

It’s always a bit of a shock when baby names trend upward in a big way. Because guess what. Year after year, the most popular names tend to... stay popular. After all, the top four girl names in 2016 were Sophia, Emma, Olivia and Ava. And in 2017, they are Emma, Olivia, Ava and Sophia. Who knew?

But then there are the names that zoom into popularity, suddenly and without notice, surprising everyone and kick-starting trends left and right. Do you know any kids named Nova, Ezekiel or Valentina by any chance? Well, you will.

More: Short Baby Boy Names for Parents Who Like to Keep It Simple

In 2017, several classic names — including Naomi, Sebastian, Aurora and Theodore — have seen a resurgence, while scores of baby girls were given romantic names like Isla, Valentina, Brielle and Mila. Fabulous astronomy-inspired names like Nova and Luna also rose in popularity (possibly due to the eclipse?), while powerful names like Maverick and Roman took charge. Meanwhile, biblical names like Ezekiel and Levi rose in popularity, and Sawyer gained fans as well (though it’s tough to say whether that's because of Twain's classic novel or the hottie from Lost).

But while we didn’t see these coming, we have to say we kind of dig 'em. Ahead, check out 17 surprising baby names that made big moves in 2017.

More: These Hippie Boy Names Are Groovy, Baby

Girl names

Nova

Nova means “new” or “young,” and in astronomical terms is used to describe a star that suddenly shines thousands of times brighter and then gradually fades back to its original brightness. It's also the name of a classic PBS science show (that's worth a baby name in our books).

Luna

Luna literally translates to “moon” in Spanish, Italian and Latin. In Roman mythology, Luna is the goddess of the moon. (In Greek mythology, Luna was called “Selene,” which is another unusual and gorgeous name for girls.) Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's daughter may have contributed to the popularity of this one.

Isla

Isla means “devoted to God” — its rise in popularity could be partially due to actor Isla Fisher. The word isla also means “island” in Spanish.

Valentina

The romantic name Valentina means “brave," but we can't help thinking of a certain love-themed February holiday when we hear it. This moniker may have been nudged into fashion when actor Salma Hayek named her only child Valentina.

Naomi

This throwback name was the raddest in the ‘80s and means “pleasant.” Fans of actor Naomi Watts or country legend Naomi Judd will approve.

Mila

Mila means “industrious," and we likely have A-lister Mila Kunis to thank for its popularity.

Aurora

The name Aurora comes from the Roman goddess of the dawn. It’s also used to describe the Northern Lights phenomenon seen in the skies. Are parents naming their daughters Aurora after those swirling colors — or after Disney’s Sleeping Beauty? We may never know.

Brielle

This one came as a surprise indeed. Brielle is an Irish name that means “hill.” Our hypothesis? The name might have become well-known thanks to reality star Brielle Biermann, who has appeared with her mother Kim Zolciak-Biermann on The Real Housewives of Atlanta — and probably 3,488 of its spinoff shows.

Boy names

Maverick

This name has an interesting origin. According to lore, a 19th-century rancher named Maverick refused to brand his cows, and the name came to mean an independent thinker who does his own thing. (It’s also the name of the title character from the popular ‘50s TV show — and ‘90s film remake — Maverick.)

Ezekiel

Behold the Old Testament prophet who's also a Walking Dead character. Ezekiel means “the strength of God.”

Roman

Yep, this name's meaning is as straightforward as it seems: "from Rome.” Fueled by Americans' love for all things Italian or by Cate Blanchett's son Roman?

Sawyer

Sawyer means “cuts timber” and was once used to indicate a person who worked in logging. Its popularity likely comes from Mark Twain's Tom Sawyer or Sawyer on the endless ABC drama Lost — or both.

Jameson

Jameson means “supplanter." But hey, if you name your kid after whiskey, that's totally cool too. It's also the name of Pink's son with motocross star Carey Hart.

Theodore

This sweet old-fashioned name means “God-given.” It was the name of one of America’s most beloved presidents, Theodore Roosevelt, and also writer Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss. Oh, and a chipmunk.

Asher

Based on meaning alone, we can see why parents are choosing the name Asher in droves: It translates as “happiness.”

Levi

Levi means “associated with him” and is another biblical name. In the Old Testament book of Genesis, Levi was the third son of Jacob; today, he's the first son of Matthew McConaughey.

Sebastian

Another adorable throwback name, Sebastian, means “revered.” This name can be found all over popular culture, so take your pick: Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Disney's The Little Mermaid or Tommy Hilfiger's son.

7 Reasons Not to Wait Until After the Holidays to Break Up With Someone

$

The holiday season is one filled with lots of stress and emotion. A new year just around the corner may have you questioning your life decisions, one of which could be your relationship. If your partnership has been on a slow fizzle to nothing and you feel you want to end it but the holidays have you thinking about riding out the relationship until after the holidays, don't! We talked to the relationships experts about why it’s better to break up with someone before the holidays.

More: 11 Little Things That Can Totally Transform Your Relationship

1. You don’t have to fake it

“If your relationship is burning out and you know in you heart it is really over, why prolong it and fake happiness at another family gathering that you won't be a part of anymore?” asks Susan McCord, a dating and relationship columnist and relationship coach. Can you really picture yourself going to holiday party after holiday party with this person you no longer want to be with? If the thought of faking a happy relationship to the people around you makes you dread the holidays more, you need to end it now.

2. You’ll both be surrounded by family & friends

One upside to the preholiday breakup is that this time of the year, we’re all surrounded by family and friends. When either of you is feeling down about the breakup, at least you’ll both have people to lean on. “Yes, you'll look like the bad person. There's no way to avoid that. But you've been honest with yourself and with your mate. Honesty is essential for any relationship, even those that are terminating,” explains relationship expert Susan Winter.

3. Living a lie will suck for both of you

Yes, breaking up with someone just before or during the holiday season is extra hard for both of you, but trying to "spare their feelings" by waiting until afterward is just living a lie, says online dating coach Eric Resnick. “You are tricking someone into thinking everything is OK when you know it isn't. It is cruel and unfair to that person. The breakup will hurt them, but knowing that you stayed with them waiting for the best time to break up with them will hurt them much more.”

More: 6 Women Get Real About What It’s Like to Be in an Open Relationship

4. You don’t have to exchange gifts

Breakups are not easy anytime of year, but spending money on them or letting them spend a lot of money on gifts for you when you are ready to walk away is not good karma, says McCord. Try to end things as early as you can. Don't wait to do it on the actual holiday. This will also allow both of you to return any gifts you may have bought for each other or each other’s families.

5. It may appear as if you’re using the other person

“Keeping someone around just for the holidays is ultimately unhealthy because it's delaying the inevitable. And it could seem like you're using that person as a "prop," keeping them around solely as a companion for Christmas events, family gatherings and someone to look good with on social media,” says relationship expert, David Bennett. It may also seem like you're just using them to get a gift. As hard as it may be to dump someone during the holidays, if you know it's time, it's ultimately the solution with the most integrity.

6. You’re just leading the other person on if you don’t

Carrying on a relationship through the holiday season can give someone the impression that the relationship is more serious than it really is. “Many people break up during the holidays because relationships move toward becoming too serious,” says Isabel James, a matchmaker and relationship coach. “Holidays mean spending time with family, buying expensive gifts and introducing the person you are seeing to colleagues and family. If somebody is not ready to do this and wants to avoid the uncomfortable experience of leaving the other person out, end the relationship.” In the end, it’s better than leading them on.

7. You avoid the embarrassment

If you wait until after the holidays to break up with your partner, you put your partner and yourself in the position of having to go back and tell all the friends and family (who saw you together at holiday parties) they got dumped as soon as the presents were unwrapped, explains Resnick. It’s better to end it before the holidays so you’ll only have to do the explaining once.

3 Tips That Have Helped Me Manage My Irritable Bladder

$

People develop irritable bladders for a number of reasons, but it’s not a topic that gets talked about a huge deal, probably because a lot of people expect an irritable bladder to be something that only develops later in life. However, as a person in their early 30s, I can confirm my bladder is something I have to manage on a daily basis, and that means monitoring what I drink.

The symptoms of an irritable bladder include waking in the night several times to pee, having a sudden urge to urinate and being unable to control your bladder, possibly even peeing a little as a result. Basically, the struggle is real.

My irritable bladder is caused by multiple sclerosis, but that’s not the only condition that can trigger an irritable bladder. As the Mayo Clinic notes, things that can cause an overactive bladder include neurological conditions, infections, excessive alcohol or caffeine, certain medications and other health issues. If you think you might have an irritable bladder, then it’s worth consulting a medical professional.

More: The Incredibly Simple Thing You Can Do to Prevent UTIs

For me, I realized I had a problem when I needed to rush to the toilet once an hour. This meant sleeping through the night was impossible, as I’d routinely wake up desperate for a pee several times before morning. I was tired and cranky and felt as though I was getting a urinary tract infection far too often. And sometimes, I was getting an infection for real, but because my bladder felt so acidic so often, it became difficult to tell for sure.

My MS nurse suggested I get a bladder test and immediately asked me what I’d been drinking. As a heavy soda drinker, she suggested I cut back on my intake of Coca-Cola. She gave me a helpful list of drinks that make the bladder more active than it should be, such as citrus juices, soda, tea and coffee. The thought of cutting down on all my caffeine intake was terrifying, but if it was going to help my overactive bladder, it was worth a try. Here are just some of the ways you can manage an irritable bladder.

Drink more water & less fizzy or caffeine-based drinks

As Health magazine says, drinking both too much or too little liquid can cause an irritable bladder. If I’ve forgotten to have enough water, this causes a severe burning when I pee, not unlike the feeling when you have a urinary tract infection. Conversely, returning to my old habits of drinking too much soda makes me way more aware of my bladder and makes the urge to pee even greater. If you’re peeing too frequently and it’s interfering with your day-to-day life, then check the list of drinks that aggravate your bladder and moderate your intake. Switching caffeine-based beverages for water is almost always a great choice, although I find that a water-based coffee, such as an Americano, is usually fine on my bladder.

Make sure you empty your bladder fully when you pee

As my sensation has been affected by my multiple sclerosis, I’m not always 100 percent sure I’ve emptied my bladder fully. But it’s so important to make sure you’ve flushed out all the urine in your bladder so germs can’t manifest, causing infections and irritating the bladder more than is necessary.

More: I have a common bladder condition no one talks about, & it's taking over my life

Always pee right after sex

Before I began moderating what I drink, I often developed urinary tract infections after having sex. This was a combination of my irritated bladder and the germs that come into contact with the urethra during sex. Making sure I pee right after sex ensures any germs are flushed away, and I also find that showering wards off any potential infections. Everyone’s different, but for me, mixing sex with an irritable bladder was once a painful combo. Drinking plenty of water before sex also helps and makes sure my bladder isn’t overly stimulated.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Embraces Feminism With Its Female Characters

For the first time in the 40-year (and counting) history of the beloved Star Wars saga, it's the women in Star WarsThe Last Jedi who rule the galaxy and command the wars with courage, compassion and knowledge of the Force that will make women everywhere proud. This feels entirely fresh and unprecedented, considering this film franchise has been largely male-dominated since its inception in 1977. As such, even when a female character does get the spotlight (think Princess Leia in the first three films or Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), that glimpse into her independence and agency is fleeting and hard-won. What gives? Why couldn't these women be allowed to stand on their own, to fight the Empire in their own way and without the help of men? When would their time come?

More: 11 Times Princess Leia Was the Embodiment of Resistance Goals

Well, it turns out that their time has come with The Last Jedi. The more I thought about it, after watching The Last Jedi, I realized that there was more to the women in this film than meets the eye. So much so that I found it nearly impossible not to make connections between the women of The Last Jedi to the equally popular Game of Thrones, a show which has its fair share of independent, intelligent, badass women. While the female characters of these respective worlds were created independently of each other, its hard to deny that our understanding of what women can be characterized as onscreen has been elevated by Game of Thrones, thus making it difficult (well, for me anyway) to not draw connections between the women of Westeros to the women of pop culture's favorite galaxy far, far away.

So, on that note, let’s take a look at what makes General Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), Rey (Daisy Ridley), Vice Admiral Holdo (Laura Dern) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), true feminist icons and how they relate to the women of Game of Thrones.

Please note: Spoilers for Star Wars: The Last Jedi ahead.

General Leia Organa

TLJ General Leia
Image: Lucasfilm/Disney

Fisher was only 19 when she first took on the role of Princess Leia. Like many teen girls, Leia was awkward, unsure of herself and more beautiful than she could even imagine. Carefully, she learned from those around her and cultivated the ability to rely on just herself when there was no one else.

Now General Organa, she has connected with the Force and leads the rebellion against the Galactic Empire. She's gone from damsel in distress to General — something very few female characters in any genre, let alone sci-fi, have done. She's the clear role model for Daenerys Targaryen in Game of Thrones, another woman who started out fearful but then became a force to be reckoned with.

Daenerys from Game of Thrones
Image: HBO

For those of us who've grown up watching Leia's journey, it's been really exciting to see the young, vulnerable princess become strong and powerful all while keeping her moral compass.

And then there's Fisher herself, who makes seeing The Last Jedi a bittersweet experience. It's been almost a year since Fisher unexpectedly passed away, taking the legend of Leia with her. Perhaps the biggest holiday gift of 2017 is seeing Fisher play Leia one last time. We'll forever miss her, but it leaves the franchise no choice but to pass the torch.

Rey

TLJ Rey and Luke
Image: Lucasfilm/Disney

Starting out as a lonely scavenger from Jakku, surviving on the harsh desert planet gave Rey mettle. She's scrappy, fearless and understands there's something powerful stirring inside her. In The Last Jedi, she shows up at Luke Skywalker's doorstep insisting he trains her to be a Jedi. Eventually, Luke relents but Rey's mysterious "visions" are quite troubling. It seems the dark side is equally as powerful as the light inside her.

At one point, she calls upon The Force to show her who her true parents are. She’s led to a hall of mirrors that only show her infinite reflections. Later in the film, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) tells her she is "no one." This sounds eerily similar to Arya Stark’s training at the House of Black and White in season 5 of Game of Thrones, where she was beaten and made to confirm she was also "no one."

These parallels suggest that to use the Force, Rey must give up any notion of identity, lineage or preconceived destiny. Though Arya's journey was hard fought, it worked out well for her. We can only hope Rey's journey will save the universe, as she (hopefully) becomes the next Jedi Knight.

Vice Admiral Holdo

TLJ Holdo Laura Dern
Image: Lucasfilm/Disney

Perhaps the most delicious thing about the new female characters in Star Wars, is how multi-dimensional they are. Laura Dern recently said that Vice Admiral Holdo is, "a complicated, powerful woman in a position of power — with a gray area." It that gray area we can relate to most.

Many of the women in the fantasy genre are relegated to princesses, temptresses and mothers. There's nothing wrong with these archetypes, but modern women wants to see themselves reflected more accurately. Holdo appears intelligent, brave and feminine signaling to young women that they can be all three.

Dern added, "[Director Rian Johnson is] saying something that’s been a true challenge in feminism. Are we going to lead and be who we are as women in our femininity? Or are we going to dress up in a boy’s clothes to do the boy’s job? I think we’re waking up to what we want feminism to look like."

We see shades of Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) in Holdo, meaning that we need to watch this Vice Admiral very closely in case she gets too power hungry. Or if she has a brother...

Cersai from Game of Thrones
Image: HBO

Rose Tico

Rose Tico
Image: Lucasfilm/Disney

Played by the real-life daughter of Vietnamese refugees, Kelly Marie Tran said this about her character: "Rose Tico is a mechanic, she doesn't have any special powers, she's not a princess, she’s just a character running around in the background. Rose portrays the idea that anyone can rise to the challenge and have an important role to play."

Rose is a powerful role model to young women today simply because she believes in equality, justice and the right to live in peace — all things the ruthless Imperial Regime want to take away. She's a beacon for any woman who feels disenfranchised, proving that everyone has a role in creating an inclusive, peaceful world.

Rose reminds us a bit of Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel), Danerys' lowly handmaiden who has the potential to influence the seven kingdoms of GoT as she steadily voices her concern for the common people to her Queen.

As we look at The Last Jedi, Game of Thrones and the fantasy genre as a whole, we can acknowledge that an entire generation of young viewers — female and male — are growing up with powerful, brave and feminine women whose stories are more inclusive. This is finally becoming the norm and it’s wonderful to see. Allowing these dynamic, multidimensional women to exist on film and in our imaginations lifts humanity as a whole and reflects the reality of our changing culture. And moving culture forward, for the betterment of its people, is what storytelling is all about.

The Last Jedi is currently playing in theaters.

Brit Marling Teases Big News About The OA

Christmas just came early for fans of the mysterious Netflix series The OA. Building up the anticipation,  star and co-writer Brit Marling revealed that filming on the second season starts next month.

More: Netflix's New Drama The OA Is Already Being Compared to Stranger Things

The first season, which aired in December 2016, drew mixed reviews but garnered a passionate fan base — the response from viewers was so strong that Netflix greenlighted a second season only six weeks after the first premiered. And now fans can rejoice once more, because Season 2 is officially written and ready to be brought to life.

"Excited and terrified by the road map of these 8 scripts, which took us all summer and fall to write," Marling tweeted on Saturday. "Shooting Part II of @The_OA starts Jan 2018. Here goes something..."

The OA Season 2

Seeing as how the Season 1 finale left fans with just as many (if not more) questions than answers, a second season really can't come soon enough. Is Prairie, aka "the OA," OK? Did all of this really happen, or was it just imagined?

Next to nothing has been revealed about the new season, save what Marling hinted at in her tweet. The most notable fact, of course, is that the season is mapped out in eight scripts — the first of which we can plainly see is called "Angel of Death." The fourth reads "SYZYGY," a word defined as "the nearly straight-line configuration of three celestial bodies (such as the sun, moon and earth during a solar or lunar eclipse) in the gravitational system." In other words, it's about to get even more metaphysical up in here.

The cover photo on the first script also seems to suggest it will take place in or pertain to San Francisco. Other than that, though, fans will simply have to brush off their interpretive dance moves and wait patiently for more news from Marling.

The OA is currently slated for return sometime in mid-2018 on Netflix.

Ah, to be young and in love... er, back in love, that is — Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber prove that, more than a month after giving their romance another go, they are still totally sweet on each other. The rekindled couple took date night to new heights on Saturday by hopping their private jet and heading to Seattle. There, they had some good ol' fashioned fun at the Sugar Factory.

"Selena and Justin are doing great. Justin is very affectionate to Selena. He wears his heart on his sleeve lately, especially when it comes to her. They are still learning about each other as grown adults," a source reportedly told E! News. According to another source, the pair enjoyed a playful date in Seattle, with Bieber even breaking into dance at one point.

Although neither singer has made a statement yet about their renewed relationship, it hasn't stopped them from being spotted out in public together numerous times since Gomez's October breakup from The Weeknd.

The very first time Gomez and Bieber were spotted being more than platonic in public was way back in December of 2010. After being photographed holding hands in Philadelphia, the couple kicked off a tumultuous on-off again, three-year courtship.

Although rumors have circulated in the time since about the couple reuniting, their current sightings together are the most solid confirmation that Gomez and Bieber are exploring romance once more.

"I don't know so much about their personal relationship because he doesn't share a whole lot, but I love her," Mallette said. "I support anything [he does]. If he loves her, I love her, and I've met her and we have a special bond so I think she's precious."
