Nelly swears the drugs and gun weren't his

Cops stopped one of Nelly's buses on Thursday and found some illegal drugs that are a lot more potent than a little marijuana.

Remember Nelly? He was the one who told us to take off our clothes when it got "hot in hurr" and to drop down and get our eagle on, whatever that means. The St. Louis-born rapper's career has waned over the years, but he's apparently still on tour. How do we know? Cops found heroin and illegal weapons on his bus during a stop in Sierra Blanca, Texas.

The rapper and six other people aboard the bus were detained in the zero-tolerance town.

"It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th," he said in a statement, adding that he knew nothing about "the small plastic container containing marijuana" and "a very small Ziploc bags containing [.64 ounces of] Heroin and a loaded .45 cal pistol."

"Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials in Sierra Blanca, Texas did not press charges against anyone other than that individual."

Six of the seven detained — including Nelly — were released after a man named Brian Keith admitted that he owned the illegal goods. U.S. border agents eventually arrested Keith after drug dogs found "controlled substances emitting from the seams of the main entrance of the vehicle."

Celebrities engaging in illegal behavior should probably just stay away from Sierra Blanca. If you'll remember, it's the same border town where Fiona Apple, Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg and Armie Hammer were detained for various drug infractions.
