Tori Spelling
has revealed the details of her dramatic fourth pregnancy to US Weekly, in a cover story that divulges the health issues that almost took her life. Pregnancy number four was a complete surprise for the actress, as she and her husband, Dean McDermott, had just given birth to their third child, Hattie.

Spelling received a bit of heat from other moms for publicly disclosing that she and McDermott had sex before she was medically cleared at the six-week mark after giving birth. She consequently became pregnant with her fourth child, and at twenty weeks into her pregnancy, trouble began.

Spelling was diagnosed with placenta previa, which results from the placenta growing into the lower womb and covering the opening of the cervix, a part of the birth canal. It is seen in 1 out of 200 pregnancies, and women who have had multiple pregnancies and a history of C-sections are at high risk for the condition. The actress fell into both of those categories, making her fourth pregnancy extremely high risk.

Spelling spent over four months on bed rest, including a 10-week stay in the hospital to prevent any internal bleeding.

The difficult pregnancy terrified the actress, and she told Us Magazine, "I just remember thinking, I can't leave three children behind."

Fortunately, baby Finn Davey was born on Aug. 30, despite enduring nine episodes of bleeding during delivery.

Spelling says, "When they put him in my arms, I was like, 'We made it.'"

Spelling did undergo a fourth C-section, which led to emergency surgery about a month ago because her scars had split open. However, the reality star is recovering nicely from that final scare.

Spelling is currently the host of the show Craft Wars on TLC, and she is also the owner of a Los Angeles antique store, InvenTORI.
