The Real Reason Margot Robbie Is Often Seen Without Her Wedding Ring

The fact that Margot Robbie is rarely seen wearing her wedding ring has nothing to do with the state of her marriage, as much as the tabloids would probably like it to. Nope, Robbie and her husband, Tom Ackerley, are perfectly happy, and she has a perfectly understandable reason for leaving her ring off on most days.

"Everyone's freaking out over that," she told reporters on the red carpet at the Gotham Awards. "When I'm at work, you can't wear a wedding ring in costume. If your character's not married, it's gonna look really weird if you have a wedding ring on. There is nothing more to it — I simply cannot wear it when I am in costume."

And so she only wears it on weekends. That makes perfect sense, if you think about it. Can we all calm down about Robbie's marriage now?

Because it sounds like she and Ackerley are really enjoying married life. After having a secret, super-private ceremony in Robbie's native Australia last year, they've just been settling into the routine of living together, something they've had plenty of practice at.

"My husband and I were roommates before we were even dating, so I’m kind of living with my roommate and it’s awesome," Robbie told Us Weekly earlier this year. One thing has definitely changed since they tied the knot, though. "We lived with a bunch of people and now we’re just living [as] the two of us, so we feel very grown up now."

Robbie and Ackerley have always kept their relationship as private as possible, but that's no reason to think they're on the rocks, even if Robbie's not wearing her ring.
