It looks there one Canadian out there who's not as sweet as the maple syrup which flows forth in great quantity from that great northern land.

Former Friends star and your secret '90s crush Matthew Perry says he allegedly fought Justin Trudeau, the current Prime Minister of Canada, while they attended the same high school. Uh, come again? This sounds wholly unlike the Perry fans know and love, both in real life and on Friends. What would have caused Perry to want to hurt the feminist politi-babe currently presiding over the wonderful nation of Canada?

I'm only joshing about Perry not being a nice guy, but seriously, this story is strange and should be taken with a grain of salt. It is also entertaining as hell. While on The Jimmy Kimmel Show, Perry recounted how he may or may not have beaten up Trudeau when they were wee lads. "I was reminded this, my friend Chris Murray, who was also in the fifth grade in Canada, reminded me that we actually beat up Justin Trudeau," Perry told Kimmel. "We both beat him up. I think he was excelling in a sport that we weren’t so it was pure jealousy."

Perry admits that both boys may have been around 10 years old at the time and, if his memory serves, Trudeau was not being guarded by bodyguards at the time (Trudeau's father was also Prime Minister, which would explain why Trudeau may have been guarded). The idea that two soon-to-be-famous Canadians were brawling over something as silly as being good as sports is, at equal turns, hilarious and ridiculous.

Perry, though, wanted to spin this odd tale into something of a triumph. "I think it was rather instrumental in him…going to such great heights and becoming the prime minister. I think he said, 'I’m gonna rise above this and I’m gonna become prime minister.'" Whatever you say, Perry. Whatever you say.
