The holiday presents came early for Dancing With the Stars host Brooke Burke-Charvet: Doctors just told her that she's cancer-free! The mom of four underwent surgery last week to get rid of the nodules around her thyroid gland — and it worked!
"While the presence of papillary cancer was confirmed in a small nodule, it was encapsulated and all the surrounding tissue was clear," she said in an interview with her parenting website, ModernMom.

She'll have to go back for a check-up in six months, so there is still some waiting involved. Still, it's great news for the mother of four.
"It was the best case scenario," she said. "We're so happy and relieved."
Burke-Charvet came forward with the diagnosis via a YouTube video in early November. She kept her positive attitude throughout the ordeal though.

"I'm going to make a positive out of this negative thing," she said at the time. "I am going to be a really good patient and I am going to do everything I need to do… Doctors say this is a 'good' kind of cancer to have ... My doctor did tell me this is a happily ever after ending kind of thing."
So, what's next for the 44-year-old star? Some well-deserved rest and relaxation.

"I'm taking the rest of the year off to spend time with my family," she told ModernMom. "I'm really looking forward to the holidays, we'll be celebrating each other and most importantly celebrating life."
