One of the most popular and delicious Hanukkah dishes is a nice, juicy brisket. But the daunting truth is that, for as many people out there who love brisket, there are just as many ways to prepare it. There is a simple way to make a mouth-watering brisket, though, and we’re here to show you how.

Braised beef brisekt

What you'll need

For this delicious dish you’ll need:

  • Beef brisket
  • 1 cup of ketchup
  • 1 ounce of dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can of ginger ale
  • 3 carrots, cut
  • 1 small onion, sliced

Step 1: Start preparing

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl, mix the ketchup, soup mix and ginger ale. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and pour the mixture from the bowl over the brisket. Place the carrots and onion around the brisket in the pan and cover the entire top with aluminum foil.

Step 2: Cook the brisket

Once the oven is preheated and the brisket is prepared, put it in the oven for two hours. After two hours, remove the aluminum foil and continue for an additional hour. Remove from the oven and let the brisket stand for a few minutes.

Step 3: Add some garnish

If you want to add more flavor to your brisket there are plenty of ways to do it. Brining the brisket 24 hours before you bake it is a great way to keep the moisture in and add flavor. You can also garnish the brisket with apricots or cranberries for a unique flavor.

Now you’re ready to slice and serve to your eager guests.
