11 predictions for the next episode of The Bachelorette and beyond

$
0
0

Tonight's episode of The Bachelorette ended on maybe the biggest cliffhanger in the series' history, so I'm coping with some fun and, hopefully, laugh-worthy predictions about what's to come.

WARNING: Some Reality Steve spoilers below and potential bad awesome jokes about the remaining episodes of The Bachelorette Season 12.

More: Last night's episode proved The Bachelorette is more desperate for drama than ever

1. Luke Pell will be eliminated

I mean, the dude created a heart out of flowers. Was JoJo really confused about Luke's feelings for her? No. She just felt bad that he felt the need to say "I love you" right before she broke his heart. She wasn't feeling conflicted. She was feeling guilty. Anywho, Reality Steve is reporting that Luke will be the one to bite the dust.

2. JoJo will just keep pacing

JoJo will spend so much time pacing around that airport that she'll hatch her 10k egg in Pokémon Go. #TeamValor. That's right, I went there.

3. There will be some technical errors

Right after JoJo eliminates Luke, the three remaining guys will all hop on the private jet with JoJo only to realize that the plane doesn't work. Whoops. Which means JoJo and the other guys will have to stand next to Luke awkwardly while he waits for the limo to take him to the airport.

4. Chase will be next to go

I, personally, can't believe JoJo will eliminate Luke over Chase after hometowns, and there's no way I'm the only one. Chase was definitely the slow burn and I wouldn't be surprised if JoJo chose not to sleep with him during the overnights because she's just not there.

5. JoJo won't sleep with all three guys

See No. 2. But it also seems to be a trend lately on the seasons that the Bachelor/ette chooses to eliminate one person rather than have sex with them on overnight dates and then break their heart. I think it's a respectable decision and JoJo seems like a respectable gal. Of course, that isn't to say that if she is feeling it with all three she shouldn't go for it. Get it, girl.

More: There's another Jordan Rodgers Bachelorette rumor, but we're totally over it

6. JoJo will cry a lot. A lot, a lot.

That girl is going to be a finale waterfall. If tonight's private jet pace is any indication, she's going to ugly cry all over the next few episodes.

7. Jordan Rodgers is going to admit he's a Vikings fan

The guy is clearly not so close to his brother and there are definitely deep feelings there. I wouldn't put it past him to have turned a little just to spite Aaron Rodgers.

8. Robbie's going to swim away

Robbie will be so upset when he gets eliminated in the finale that he's going to forgo the boat altogether and just swim away from the island. He's a former pro, after all.

9. The Men Tell All episode will be so hilarious, I mean, dramatic

Evan, Alex and Chad all in a room together? Bring it on. I. Can't. Wait. It's gonna be so great it is sure to inspire GIFs for years to come.

10. Jordan Rodgers will win. Obviously.

But will he propose? Oh, yeah. There's no way JoJo's walking away without a ring. Jordan is going to wife her up.

More: JoJo's obsession with passion could keep her from finding love

11. Aaron Rodgers will show up

Right after Jordan proposes to JoJo, Aaron Rodgers and Olivia Munn will show up, and Aaron and Jordan will have a bromantic reconciliation. Hey, it could happen.

I'm jealous because I can't get pregnant, but I still support your right to an abortion

When I was 22, one of my best friends told me she got pregnant while on the pill and then had an abortion once she realized she didn't have the money, support or desire for a child. Even though it was the right decision for her, it was deeply difficult for her to deal with. I hugged her tight, not able to fully grasp the enormity of her loss.

When I was 24, a woman I had not known long but still considered a friend told me she had an abortion while her children's father sat in jail for beating her. She looked down with shame as she admitted she wouldn't have another one of his children. Empathy swelled in my chest as I told her she had no reason to feel ashamed.

More: I volunteer to hold women's hands while they're getting an abortion

And even after numerous tales like these, it was different when, a year later, another best friend told me she was pregnant but simply did not want to have anymore children. It was different because I knew I may not be able to have children of my own, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous of her.

You see, I have polycystic ovarian syndrome, which can cause a multitude of health issues, including infertility. But if there is one thing infertility has taught me, it's that too often we shame our bodies for what they do or will not do for us. We shame our bodies for something that has happened to us or something we were born with. That makes it even more important for us to protect the right that allows a woman to choose what happens next.

More: Daisy Ridley: Thank you for helping us kiss PCOS taboos goodbye

While I was ashamed and hurt and angry with my body for what it could not do, this made me feel even more steadfast that women who find themselves pregnant when they don't want to be should have a choice. We can't shame people for choices that aren't our own. Just because I desperately want children but am unsure if I will ever be able to have them doesn't mean those who find themselves unexpectedly pregnant shouldn't have the right to a medically safe abortion procedure. My jealousy and personal feelings regarding my own fertility are just that — mine — and should not legislate what other women are able to do for themselves.

I wouldn't choose an abortion, but I'll gladly let a friend lean on me after making that very difficult decision for herself and as she battles the sadness afterward. Giving women the freedom to make that choice is necessary if we want to call ourselves the land of the free.

Kimye's rivalry with Taylor Swift has done wonders for their relationship

Anyone remotely interested in Hollywood and celebrity gossip will know what's been going down between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West versus Taylor Swift, and yes, it's not pretty.

More: Taylor Swift responds to Kim Kardashian turning the Internet against her

Multiple celebs have weighed in on the situation, and fans are wondering if Kardashian's Snapchat story could result in legal action being taken against her and West. But two people who aren't worried about the media firestorm? Kardashian and West, because this latest feud has reportedly strengthened their relationship.

"The feud with Taylor has brought Kim and Kanye closer than ever before," a source told Hollywood Life, adding, "Kanye feels like Kim really is his ride or die until the end of time. They are stronger than ever as a couple."

More: Khloé Kardashian and Chloë Grace Moretz are going to war — Twitter war

In fact, the source goes so far as to say that all the petty arguments and disagreements between the couple, prior to their Swift takedown, have been forgotten and replaced "with a love forged stronger by the battle they have been in together against Taylor Swift."

No one can deny that Kardashian and West are really a team. They certainly have each other's backs and there appears to be an incredible amount of love and support in their marriage, and Kardashian's decision to share her husband's recording with the world has proved this, as the source reveals, "Kanye is proud Kim is his wife today and the feeling from Kim is mutual."

The school uniform debate just got a whole lot more complicated

$

It seems innocent enough, but bring up the topic of school uniforms among your fellow parents, and you're probably going to start a hot debate. While plenty of parents are in support of school uniforms, others stand strongly against them. And a uniform policy, or lack thereof, can also determine where you send your kid to school.

If you haven't formed an opinion yet, we've broken down both sides of the argument. Here's what you need to know about this decades-old debate.

More: The braid ideas for little girls every mom needs to save

Pros of school uniforms

  • Students experience less pressure in deciding what to wear each morning.
  • Uniforms cost less overall.
  • Student attendance improves.
  • Encourages discipline.
  • Students takes less time to get ready in the morning.
  • Children are free to concentrate on lessons.
  • Uniformity promotes a reduction of violence in schools.
  • A decrease in peer pressure to wear trendier brands.
  • Uniforms can be reused and recycled.
  • School intruders are more easily identified in a school of uniformed children.

More: These parents are calling out the 'sham' of perfect parenthood with photos of their kids

Former President Clinton is perhaps the most famous and influential advocate of school uniform. In a March 1996 speech he said:

"If it means that the schoolrooms will be more orderly and more disciplined, and that our young people will learn to evaluate themselves by what they are on the inside instead of what they're wearing on the outside, then our public schools should be able to require their students to wear uniforms."

Next Up: Cons of school uniforms

{pageBreak}

Cons of school uniforms

  • Uniforms detract from a child's individuality.
  • Students will always find ways to express themselves, leading to less desirable forms of expression such as tattooing and piercing.
  • Schools should be a place where diversity is celebrated.
  • The cost of uniforms is prohibitive, especially when a family includes more than one school-aged child.
  • An unfair additional cost to tax-payers sending their children to a public school.
  • A financial burden to lower income families.
  • A child in a uniform may be the target of bullies from a different school.
  • Uniforms may lessen the child's comfort level while attending school.
  • Enforcing rules about uniforms is difficult.

More: 50 trips all kids should take before graduating from high school

According to the most recent data from the National Center for Education Statistics:
  • 19 percent of schools across the United States require a uniform.
  • Fewer secondary schools require uniforms compared to elementary schools, at 12 percent versus 20 percent.
  • Up to 47 percent of high-poverty public schools require uniforms as a security measure.
  • Only 6 percent of low-poverty public schools require uniforms.

What parents say

Now that we have heard the arguments on both sides, what do moms really think about this debate? SheKnows interviewed three moms on opposite sides of the debate. Here's what they said:

Toinette Campbell, mom of two boys from Burbank, California: "Uniforms? I love them. The key word being uniform. It gives kids a level playing field and gets them away from one-upmanship on designer labels. It also gets kids used to taking care of their clothes. Getting rid of status symbols prevents children from being teased because they aren't wearing $150 jeans."

More: I was afraid to drink in front of my stepkid, but I shouldn't have been

Carol O'Neil, mother of two boys from East Kilbride, Scotland: "I am totally for school uniforms as they keep children dressed the same and stop all of the nonsense with kids wearing designer gear. If kids are dressed the same, then they are less likely to be bullied." (In the UK, uniforms are compulsory in both state and private schools.)

Eduarda Schroeder, mom of two daughters from Chandler, Arizona: "Uniforms can be a financial burden for poor families because they are an additional expense for parents who pay taxes for a free public education. I am more in favor of a dress code."

As time continues on, it looks as if the line still stays down the middle in regard to school uniforms. However, while moms may have varying opinions on the issue, 95 percent of teachers believe that school uniforms promote a positive learning environment and improved behavior in students.

Fans are loving Willis' look and comments on the post include "Wow!! Stunning!," "You look so beautiful!" and "You look amazing!!" And multiple comments also include reference to Jessica Rabbit (from the animated film, Who Censored Roger Rabbit?), including one from bmerrow, who wrote, "Channeling your inner Jessica rabbit! Va va voom!"

We agree, Willis looks amazing but unfortunately some people have still managed to find an issue with the image.

Hollywood Life also observed the backlash over the photo, but commented that it's very unlikely that Willis would edit any of her pictures, because, as we all remember from her Vanity Fair cover shoot she is against Photoshop — she previously slammed the photographers on the shoot for altering her jaw.

A little preparation can make summer camp anxiety-free

What does the word summer bring to mind? For many people, camp is as ubiquitous a summer term as ice cream, sunshine and swimming. Whether you would like your student to attend summer camp because you work or because you hope she will create positive memories like you did in your youth, the first day of camp can be nerve-wracking for both parent and child. How can you ensure your student will be safe and that she will enjoy herself?

More: 3 ways to choose the perfect affordable summer camp for your kids

Although research is the primary method by which families can choose the perfect camp, a pleasant experience also hinges on preparing for the first day and week of the program. Here are three ways to ready your student.

1. Familiarize her with the camp before daily programming begins

The unknown can be frightening for people of all ages. Once you choose a camp for your child, help her learn a little bit about it. If your student is in the late elementary or middle school years, allow her to browse the camp’s website, as well as its social media accounts. Its YouTube page, for example, may have short videos of fun camp activities. Younger children can also benefit from videos, as well as from touring the camp location (if it is accessible).

If your student can envision where she will be spending a portion of her summer, you may find that the transition to her first camp experience goes smoother than it would without advance preparation.

More: 4 ways for parents to make even the most reluctant readers love books

2. Complete all paperwork prior to the first day of camp

Whether your child will attend a day camp or overnight camp, registering for this summer experience will involve paperwork. In many instances, this paperwork is available on the camp’s website as a downloadable file, which must be returned by the first day of the program. Although it may initially seem convenient to wait — perhaps even to complete any necessary forms when you drop your student off on the first morning — doing so can contribute to a chaotic and rushed parting.

Instead, if you submit all paperwork a week or more in advance, your child’s initial glimpse of camp can be a calm one. This is an especially important strategy if you will also wish to speak to camp counselors about a serious issue, such as allergies.

3. Encourage her to help you pack her backpack and lunch box

If your student is younger, you will likely pack her belongings for her, but consider asking her to assist you. This is a fantastic way to introduce the idea of camp. For instance, if her day camp offers twice-weekly swimming lessons, you can talk about this aspect of the schedule as you select a swimsuit and towel.

In general, campers should have a hat, sunblock and water bottle with them at all times, but your packing list will vary based on your child and the camp she will be attending. If it is permitted, a small toy (such as a favorite stuffed animal) can provide comfort to a nervous student as well.

Thanks, Dead of Summer, for making our beloved Blair totally hate-worthy

$

Tuesday's Dead of Summer just proved that it may be more entertaining as a series surrounding teen drama and real-life issues at a summer camp minus all of the supernatural elements. Seeing as that's not going to happen, I will still take the time to praise the most recent episode for showcasing a great human story.

More: Dead of Summer's Amy clearly has ties to Camp Stillwater's cult

When I wasn't covering my eyes shielding myself from the Deb and Joel make-out session in the woods (please make this story line stop), I was holding my breath that the series wouldn't screw up Drew's transgender story line. Well, fans finally got a glimpse into Drew's past, and I have to say it didn't turn out terrible — save for that ending with Blair and Drew's family, but more on that in a bit.

In addition to learning that Drew was given the name "Andrea" when he was born, it was also revealed that he once attended Camp Stillwater at a young age as Andrea. None of his fellow campers picked up on that, except for Jessie. In her usual fashion, she treated Drew like the horrible character she is. However, in the end, the two ended up bonding and finding comfort with one another over their struggles. Anyone else glad that Jess is finally getting some dimension? It's about time she's given something more to do than being the so-called mean girl.

Dead of Summer, Drew
Image: Tumblr

Like several of the others at Camp Stillwater, Drew didn't have a great home life. His mother refused to accept her son's true identity. She even once told him, "You can't hide what you are." That's exactly what she was telling Drew to do when she kept telling him he was Andrea and not Drew.

More: Dead of Summer’s Amy really needs a hug and it’s only the first episode

Just when it seemed like Drew's mother finally accepted her son for himself, his story ended on a heartbreaking note. After school one day, Drew came home to find an empty home. That's right, his mother abandoned him because she could only accept Drew as Andrea and not the other way around. I was really hoping Drew's story (thus far) would end on a happier note.

Unfortunately, things just got worse for him when he confessed to Blair that he formerly went by Andrea. Sadly, Blair, who first came off as the most accepting character in the series, did a 180 and became an awful one. After Drew's confession, Blair said to him, "I'm sorry, are you crazy?" Talk about a poor choice of words.

What makes the situation even worse is at the beginning of the episode Blair went on and on about how important it is to accept people. Blair even told Drew a story about a past camper who gave him a mixed tape of David Bowie showing him that it's OK to be different. Just who gave him the tape? Drew. Yeah, that makes it all that much worse. In the end, Blair ended up running away from Drew. It was devastating watching Drew's heart break and to see him cry in Jess' arms.

Blair and Drew
Image: Tumblr

More: Pretty Little Liars' new villain had better be a Liar

Really, Blair? I understand that the '80s were a different time and not everyone was accepting. Plus, Drew's news may have shocked Blair somewhat. However, seeing as Blair knows what it's like to be an outsider and how he accepts everyone for their true selves, it was disappointing to see his treatment of Drew. Let's just hope Blair can redeem himself.

With that, let's leave on a positive note by praising Dead of Summer for showing viewers how important it is to not only love yourself for who you really are, but to always be kind and accept others. Also, props to Zelda Williams and her portrayal of Drew.

Dead of Summer airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Freeform.

Below Deck Med's Captain Mark made the right choice about Danny Zureikat

$

Danny Zureikat is off the boat! We all knew this moment was coming on Below Deck Med; it was just a matter of when. After repeated corrections from Bryan Kattenburg and constant private chats with Captain Mark Howard, Zureikat broke the rules one too many times — and paid the price.

More: I'm feeling less patriotic after tonight's episode of Below Deck Med

The infraction that ended Zureikat's time on the Ionian Princess? Use of his smartphone on deck. Under ordinary circumstances, this wouldn't be a big deal, but Zureikat had been banned from his phone as punishment for a whole host of other no-nos.

Danny Zureikat
Image: Bravo

Early in the season, I was quick to defend Zureikat and his unique philosophy of yachting service, but he made one mistake after another, and soon, I wasn't as sympathetic. I still think that he is more charismatic and more talented than his fellow deckhands care to acknowledge, but as Captain Mark admitted while delivering the bad news, his place is probably not on a yacht. He's a better fit for a more customer service oriented job, where he can chat with clients or guests to his heart's delight.

More: Below Deck Med's Chef Ben Robinson is insensitive, not classist

It could not have been easy for the captain to fire an employee right before the final charter, but ultimately, I think he made the right decision. Zureikat was by no means the only person contributing to the yacht's toxic atmosphere, but he played a huge part in the constant drama. Worse yet, he consistently flouted the rules of his superiors. The only person who even had a shot at keeping him in check was Chef Ben Robinson, and even he only had so much success in that regard.

Captain Mark
Image: Bravo

Danny Zureikat was certainly not the only person to make a mistake worthy of being fired, but he was clearly the weakest link on the yacht. Had he been allowed to stick around for the final charter, the captain would have continued to send the wrong message: that you can get away with repeatedly breaking the rules. Zureikat was given way too many chances, and eventually, enough was enough. I will miss his goofy personality, but I think the Ionian Princess is better off without him.

What were the AGT judges thinking tonight with their live spots?

$

Sometimes, the silliest acts on America's Got Talent are also the most entertaining. For one memorable contestant, all it took was a piece of tape and a thick coat of eyeliner to have viewers everywhere in stitches. Fans absolutely adored Tape Face's audition and so did the judges. But was his act really good enough to be worthy of the live shows? I don't think so, and not because he's bad at physical comedy, but rather, because there were more deserving comedy acts that got robbed of their chance at live TV glory.

More: America's Got Talent made a huge mistake with Steven Brundage

Tape Face
Image: NBC

I am disappointed by tonight's results, but I'm certainly no Tape Face hater. I usually love physical comedy and I can appreciate Tape Face's larger-than-life facial expressions and impeccable sense of comedic timing. America's Got Talent can always use more physical comedy and Tape Face certainly delivered. He's unique and he's memorable, and sometimes, that's all the show needs.

More: Jon Dorenbos has a future in magic after tonight's episode of America's Got Talent

Tape Face definitely has his talents, but his act doesn't seem to have a lot of substance. There's also not much for connection; the switch from the airplane shtick to the trick with Howie Mandel seemed a bit abrupt. This isn't necessarily unusual in comedy (especially of a physical variety), but I would have appreciated his act far more if he'd managed to somehow connect it all together.

Tape Face
Image: NBC

Now, had Tape Face genuinely offered up the best comedic act of the evening, I'd have been cool with him moving on in the competition. But he just wasn't the best of the bunch. Another comedian offered up a far more professional performance, and in addition to not receiving the air time he deserved, he was deprived of the opportunity to present his act during the live shows. Saddened, this deserving comedian immediately expressed confusion regarding the judges' decision — and I don't blame him. I thought the brief clip they showed of him on America's Got Talent was better than all of this season's other comedy acts combined.

More: America's Got Talent's Patrick and dog Ginger destroy OCD stereotypes

Ultimately, it's not about what I think, but rather, what the judges think and, of course, what the rest of America thinks. Obviously, America disagrees with me and I accept that. I think Tape Face does have potential, but I want to see him put together a better routine with a little more substance. I also hope those who were rejected realize just how much they have to offer.

What did you think of the judges' decision on America's Got Talent? Comment and share your opinion below.

Heartbreaking photo series gives a voice to women battling eating disorders

The road to recovery from an eating disorder is often a long, arduous process — and many who suffer from the realities of living with the devastating disease need professional help to make changes. One of the treatment centers founded to do just that is the subject of a new series by Marie Hald, a 28-year-old photographer.

More: Anorexia isn't caused by wanting to look good in a bikini

For the photos — all viewable on her website — Hald traveled to Drzewo Zycia ("tree of life" in English), a center set up in Malawa, a small village in the southern part of Poland, to give vital mental health care to young women each fighting their own battles against eating disorders. Inside, the women follow rigid schedules during the recovery process.

Marie Hald 1

Marie Hald 1

“Whilst they were often bored with everything being the same everyday it also gave them comfort and peace and allowed them to focus on the therapy sessions," Hald told BuzzFeed. These strict schedules also involved regular meal times, which the photographer said was the most difficult part to witness.

More: A letter to the woman who weighs herself every day

“The girls were miserable afterwards," she continued. "They took about an hour to finish the same portion of food that I quickly finished and they were clearly struggling with the voices inside their heads.”

It's important to note that the women at the center are not weak but strong, unique individuals dealing with a real mental illness — and Hald did a good job of not defining them by their eating disorders.

“I was surprised to see how brilliantly clever, funny, friendly every single one was," Hald said, adding that the young women spend many nights "playing guitar and singing pop songs, both Polish and American, and reading magazines whilst lying in each others bed.”

Hald is happy that the project gives the women a chance to show their experiences and voice.

“I think they’re so brave for participating and opening up to my camera and to the world," she said. "I explained a lot about photojournalism and they felt a kind of strength in being able to tell their stories and have a voice.”

The Office's Angela Kinsey says being a cat lady is actually cool

As Angela Martin on The Office, Angela Kinsey played the epitome of the stereotypical crazy cat lady — at one point, her character had around 15 cats. She did things like set up nanny cams to watch her kitties at home while she was at work, and she even licked one feline's face.

Each week, she played out the comically hyperbolic relationship between cat owner and cat that has become a cultural qualifier... and people loved her for it.

More: The internet is going bonkers for these architect-designed cat houses

If anyone understands the hero worship surrounding cats, it's the woman who brought Angela Martin to life. And seeing that Martin was so endearing to viewers goes to show that being a crazy cat lady, well... it's not so crazy after all. Cat lady, schmat lady, eh?

Kinsey is on a mission to debunk the cat lady stereotype. Or, rather, the stigma surrounding it. Because, after chatting with her about her love of felines and her own BFF (best feline friend, natch), Otter, it's clear there's no shame in this cat lady's game.

Angela Kinsey 1

Angela Kinsey 1

"I don't feel like the 'cat lady' is a bad thing," she told SheKnows. "I don't mind being the cat lady at all. That means that I love animals, and that's a good thing."

Having said that, though, Kinsey admits that cat lovers are their own special breed of people and, like the cats they adore, can be quite quirky.

"I think that cat people think that cats are superior. To get a cat's affection, you have to work at it — you can't just throw a stick somewhere," she said, laughing. "Cats are picky, so I think cat owners feel special. But then I think dog owners are like, 'But dogs are so laid-back!' It's sort of like, 'Is the dress blue, or is it gold?' It's very interesting to me."

And Kinsey is right; ask any dog person, and they'll certainly espouse the virtues of having a pup as opposed to a cat.

So how come cat owners get labeled and dog owners don't? Kinsey has a theory about that too. "I do find that if you're going to have multiple pets, there are people who tend to have more cats in one home than dogs, maybe just because dogs you have to walk and things like that. You'll meet someone who could have five cats, but people usually don't have five dogs. So I think we get the stereotype of the crazy cat lady."

To be clear, even as a self-professed cat lady, Kinsey admits to doing weird and mildly embarrassing things for both her cat and her dog, pointing out, "I talk to them — I really do."

In fact, she doesn't just talk to them. They essentially talk back. "In my mind, Otter shoots down everything. I'll be like, 'Hey, Otter, do you want to wish everyone a happy Father's Day?' She's like, 'Nah, not interested.' I think I give them internal monologues, which is probably weird," Kinsey said.

Don't worry; her Chihuahua-dachshund mix, Biscuit, gets one too. "I say that her internal monologue is, every morning she wakes up, and she's like, 'All right, guys, people are gonna come here today! They're gonna attack us! I'm not really sure what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna give 'em everything I got. I'm gonna throw everything I got at 'em! Who's with me?'" Kinsey shared. "I find that I do these kinds of things."

This "weird" habit could become even funnier in the near future should Kinsey decide to adopt another feline friend.

When asked what she would name another cat if she got one tomorrow, she responded, "I'll tell you something I think is kind of fun, [and that] is to name a pet a super-normal name, like Jennifer. So you can walk around going, 'Jennifer! Jennifer, come here! Jennifer!' And people would think, 'Who is she talking to?' And I'd be like, 'That's my cat, Jennifer.'"

More: A meow is not just a meow: Learn how to understand your feline friend

As hilarious as that will surely be, the truth is, Kinsey relates to cats on a personal level, confessing that she possesses a few very cat-like traits. "I think I am a little picky," she said. "Well, 'picky' is not the right word. I'm particular. I'm very organized, and I like my house a certain way, so I think I'm a little particular like that."

As for the other thing? Let's just say Kinsey would not object if someone told her she needed to get the 18 hours of sleep per day that a cat averages. "I love to sleep. I love it!" she gushed. "I look forward to it the way people might look forward to a vacation. I think because I work long hours, I'm like, 'Oh my gosh, I'm going to get to bed tonight before 9:30 p.m. — kabooooom!' Like, I get really excited for sleep."

Of course, Kinsey's super-packed schedule keeps her from being able to indulge in much napping, and recently her work schedule even prevented her from visiting hallowed ground for cat lovers: a cat café. ("I was so bummed... I definitely am going to do that, though. It's on my list!")

What she always, always makes time for is taking care of her pets. Even when doing so requires doing things that give her flashbacks to her Office character.

"You know the monologue that she says to Dwight about how to care for Sprinkles? 'There's an ointment that goes in the ears. You've gotta lift the tail and massage the cream on the anus...' That crazy stuff — I would do that for my pets in a second."

In fact, she has done that crazy stuff for her pets.

"I've done the thing where, you know, if you're a pet owner, I had to turn in a poop sample of Otter's. So I had to scoop up her poop, put it in a little Ziploc bag, put it in my purse and then take it to the vet's office," she said through laughter. "You know, I'm driving around with some fecal matter in my purse. But that's what you do."

When all is said and done, it's readily apparent that Kinsey simply loves her pets like family and has a particular soft spot for her 19-year-old friend, Otter, whom Kinsey says is "definitely in the twilight."

"She was almost feral when I got her, and it took a lot for her to get super comfortable with people," Kinsey revealed. "But she was always really comfortable with me, and maybe that is the epitome of what the cat lady is. Otter made me feel special. Otter chose me. Otter loved me, and Otter didn't love a lot of people. Maybe that's what Otter and Angela Martin have in common."

CBS' Zoo just killed off [SPOILER] and it was a huge mistake

For the record, last week when I complained there were too many couples to ship on CBS' second season of Zoo, I didn't mean they should kill someone off. You've gotta believe me, you guys — I would have been content with your garden variety messy breakup drama.

Before we talk about which ship was severed in the most final way, though, consider this your spoiler alert. We are about to dive into this week's intense episode of Zoo and major plot points will be discussed (read: lamented over) at length.

I think it's best if we take the whole just-rip-the-Band-Aid-off-approach, don't you? So, Chloe's dead. There, I said it. Go ahead and boo me... I boo me too right now. Not only did I not want to see Chloe die, but I was also wholly unprepared for it.

More: Zoo's Season 2 premiere was wild, but could animals have died during filming?

Sure, we saw her collapse in a cloud of poison gas last week. And, yes, the teaser trailer for this week implied she could be in danger still, despite showing her alive at least momentarily. But, to be honest, I could not believe CBS actually went through with her death.

I'm not alone, either. I think it goes without saying that Chloe is one of the most popular characters on the show and central to the plot of the entire series. Fans, myself included, are not impressed with the decision to off her.

Some fans are sad. Some are angry. Some are in downright denial. But the general consensus is the same: Zoo should have spared Chloe's life. The show simply won't feel the same without her — the series could have just tanked its own dynamic.

Why would they risk such a ratings loss so early in the second season?

Well, I have two theories about that. The first is that the show is on a downward trajectory where viewers are concerned and they're jumping the shark in a desperate attempt to hold onto viewers through shock value alone.

The data seems to support this. This season so far, the series is only capturing .80 of the coveted 18 to 49 demographic, a 24.53 percent drop from last season. It is averaging only 4.947 million viewers, representing a 22.70 percent decrease in viewership from last season.

Having said that, though, it certainly isn't the lowest performing show on TV right now either. Other more critically acclaimed shows are pulling in fewer viewers, so you can't necessarily base everything off these figures. Which brings us to my second theory...

They didn't take the risk. Yes, this is a theory shared by many fans — Chloe isn't actually dead. Did she look pretty darn dead on that gurney? You betcha. Did she show any signs of life for, like, the duration of this week's episode? Nope.

More: Can Zoo's Logan be trusted, or is he a predator, too?

But, real talk, this is Zoo, people. Weird shit happens all the time. Tonight alone, Jackson cried oily black tears because he's turning into a mutant. And, oh, did I forget to mention that a poison-glass-shard-shedding snake popped out of a man's throat?

Zoo Chloe 11

Zoo Chloe 11

Nothing is outside of the realm of possibility on this show and there are all kinds of fantastical ways they could explain away Chloe's seeming death.

A little sleuthing on IMDb (which, admittedly, rarely gives away too much these days) shows that Nora Arnezeder, the actress who plays Chloe, appears to be booked for every episode this season. Of course, this could be the show's attempt to throw us off the scent of her character's arc.

So it remains to be seen, but this much is certain: If Chloe is really dead, CBS might have a mutiny on their hands.

Lena Dunham doesn't know Matt Damon & Julia Stiles don't do movie marketing

Matt Damon and Julia Stiles started their press tour for the newest Jason Bourne movie and one of the questions they’ve been asked frequently is whether or not they’ve heard Lena Dunham’s attack on the movie’s poster and if they have a reaction to her.

Most recently, Damon and Stiles sat down with E! News to share their reaction, and they were both tremendously classy in the face of a question that, frankly, isn’t their problem.

More: Matt Damon makes controversial comments on diversity (VIDEO)

Damon said, "I totally get it. I mean especially given what's going on recently, and I get not wanting to see a picture of a gun right now, and I don't blame her at all."

Stiles followed up by saying, "Obviously there's an incredible amount of violence going on in the world and in the United States right now that's devastating, but this movie's perspective is not one that glorifies or makes heroic the idea of being violent. In fact, it's the opposite."

And then Damon made the most important point, "I mean for the marketing purposes of Jason Bourne — I mean he is a guy who runs around with a gun, so it's not gratuitous marketing.”

More: Lena Dunham uses Sundance to talk about sexual assault, women's rights

Dunham is entitled to share her opinion on the matter. She can even rip down every poster she sees if she really wants to. But Damon and Stiles are not responsible for the marketing of the movie. Requiring them to answer to Dunham is just awkward and unnecessary — especially when her brand certainly has problematic elements.

All Damon and Stiles did was act in a movie that now they have to promote. It’s their livelihood. They can’t speak out against the way the movie is marketed and hope people protest the movie they’re trying to get people to go to.

More: Lena Dunham's outspoken opinions can now be found in your inbox

I think it’s time we all realize that Dunham, and others, don’t always have to be acknowledged. They can most certainly continue to speak their mind. And people can or cannot pay attention to what they say. But putting other celebrities in awkward situations because Dunham wants them to say something isn’t a trend we should continue.

Black-ish star follows Jesse Williams' lead with a must-watch speech

Most Americans today feel like we’re in the middle of a revolution. Each day we wake up feeling like this could be the day we finally tip over — to one side or the other. Celebrities like Jesse Williams have been doing their part to make sure when this is all over, Americans are more accepting, inclusive and educated about each other and the rest of the world. And now, 16-year-old Yara Shahidi is adding her name to the activism list.

Shahidi is the star of the sitcom Black-ish, in which she plays a teenager who is trying to figure out how to live in the world as a young, African American. Shahidi herself is half-African American and half-Iranian, so she sees part of her work’s purpose to educate people on the importance of acceptance and celebration of differences, not discrimination because of them.

Shahidi recently won an award for her philanthropy at the Points of Life Conference on Volunteering and Service, and used the time she had for an acceptance speech to drop some heavy knowledge on everyone in attendance.

The video is a must-watch, but here are the top five quotes we think you’ll want to share right now.

Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi

On parity of all humans

"It seems that many times it’s difficult for the majority culture to believe that there are biases when we speak about ethnicity, sexuality, gender, race parity. How can there be parity, or the belief that we are valued similarly, if we are still being perceived and perceiving others as a tired stereotype or as one-dimensional?"

On TV's role in our reality

"Good, bad or indifferent, TV helps define our collective reality. And if a child grows up never seeing themselves represented as successful or as the hero, then they are the anomaly if they succeed and the expectation if they fail."

On the dangers of the news

"The purpose of the news is to highlight out of the ordinary events. Yet, if your only interaction with the Muslim faith and community is through the depiction of the heinous actions of terrorists, a natural assumption may be that Muslims equal terrorists, but wouldn’t a more plausible assumption be that some extremists become terrorists?"

More: Jesse Williams responds to critics who want to get him fired from Grey's Anatomy

On cultural appropriation

"In order to lessen cultural appropriation, stereotyping and institutionalized discrimination, we must start the conversation about cultural appreciation that is inclusive of all people on all platforms."

On art and activism

"Art plus activism in any and all forms is a powerful statement that can spread a message that transcends the barriers and limitations of our different realities to reveal the commonality of our shared human existence."

It's clear that Shahidi only has one mission in mind, and that is to spread her message that "beneath everyone’s skin, identity, beliefs and melanin is a human trying to succeed in this crazy world."

The eye disease that caused Bill Cosby to go blind

Bill Cosby is now “completely blind" and in his "own personal hell" because of a degenerative eye disease, according to new reports.

More: Take it from this woman — you need to be wearing protective glasses at the dentist

A source told Page Six that the actor is homebound and relies on his wife to work on his legal issues. Cosby was charged with three counts of felony aggravated indecent assault for allegedly assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand in 2004, “He is confined to his house in Pennsylvania, and the only person on his side is his wife, Camille, who is masterminding his defense," the source said.

The reason for the decline in Cosby's eyesight is a condition called keratoconus, according to Page Six. Keratoconus (often called KC) is a non-inflammatory eye condition caused by the thinning of the cornea and eventually causes a cone-like bulge, according to the National Keratoconus Foundation. Though it's not common, about one in every 1,000 people develops KC and it's typically diagnosed during late adolescence.

More: My physical disability made me consider abortion for the first time

In early stages, KC shows with symptoms like "ghosting, multiple images, glare, halos, starbursts around lights and blurred vision," according to NKF. These visual distortions and sensitivity to light progress over the next 10-20 years and special contact lenses are needed to correct the symptoms. In later stages, a corneal transplant may be required. It doesn't often to lead to complete blindness, according to Keratoconus Australia.

It's unclear how long Cosby has experienced keratoconus or if he really has it, but recent photos — including his 2015 mug shot — do show an abnormality in one of his eyes.

If you're having symptoms of KC, it's important to get to an eye doctor — stat. Treatment can do amazing things and many people with it experience full, rich lives afterward.

More: Taking photos of people in the locker room isn't just gross, it's assault

"My life, in just a few short weeks, has been irrevocably changed. We are still working out the fine tuning, but the vision restored is unbelievable," Rene Vasquez wrote in a blog for The Discovery Eye Foundation of his KC treatment. "I never thought I would see this well again."

My medication controls my chronic pain... and my sex life

$

I have an autoimmune connective tissue disorder and fibromyalgia, so I'm no stranger to chronic pain, and as someone who has my pharmacy on speed dial, I have been on many a medication with sexual side effects. Exhibit A: One of the medications I take every day for my fibromyalgia makes my orgasm take a lot longer. I can still get there, but it’s a lot more work and my partner, and I often give up when my wrist starts to hurt too much. At the same time, that medication results in significantly less pain every day. As you can already see, chronic pain and sex are a frustrating combination.

Just to complicate things more, I recently began seeking treatment for the terrible mood swings around my period, though “mood swings” sounds so benign for what it feels like. Three weeks of the month, I am a relatively psychologically stable and happy person. However, for one week of the month I consider checking myself into psychiatric treatment because my anxiety and depression get so bad.

More: Depression doesn't play fair, especially when it comes to your sex drive

I went to my gynecologist’s office. We talked about my symptoms and she seemed to take me seriously when I explained that these hormone fluctuations were seriously messing with my life. She prescribed me birth control pills to take continuously so I don’t have my period, ergo I don’t have the hormone fluctuations that cause me to cry uncontrollably and want to die every month. Great! So I started taking the pills and… I lost my sex drive entirely.

As a chronically ill mom of four kids including a toddler, it’s not as though I have the time, energy or the physical comfort to have actual sex as much as I would like to. But I still love flirting and sexy banter and even the small thrill of seeing a hot person walk by. Thanks to my new birth control, all of this was gone too. It’s wasn't that I didn’t want to have sex; it’s that I couldn't even relate to sexual thoughts anymore.

It begs the question: What do those of us with illnesses — physical and mental — have to sacrifice to get the symptom relief we need? Since I got sick several years ago, I still grieve long walks, full-time employment and not being in constant pain. But it wasn’t until I was faced with the “choice” of either having a sex life or avoiding a mental health week of hell that I started to think about what I have given up and what I am still willing to give up in the name of "health."

More: We don't talk enough about how anxiety disorders change our sex lives

I had to decide: keep taking the birth control pills to control my anxiety, or try a completely different course of action and get my sex life back. Call me crazy, but I chose my sex life.

And since I went off the birth control, I’ve been able to manage my freak-out week with anti-anxiety medications… for now. I still take my fibromyalgia medication, which still makes my orgasms harder to reach. But, for now, I'm back to enjoying sex despite the extra work it takes to finish. That counts for something.

Honor Garry Marshall with more than just Happy Days quotes

Garry Marshall has passed away tonight at the age of 81. He was a true legend in Hollywood who gave nothing but iconic, feel-good movies and sitcoms. Marshall was responsible for shows like Happy Days and the classic movie Pretty Woman.

As Access Hollywood first reported, Marshall died from complications with pneumonia following a stroke that he had. He was being treated at a hospital in Burbank, but ultimately couldn’t overcome the complications.

More: Garry Marshall takes us inside Pretty Woman

Marshall got his big break when he created The Odd Couple for NBC back in 1970. He then went on to create Happy Days in 1994 which became a number 1 show that is still adored to this day. His directorial debut came when he shot Pretty Woman — a film and script he is attributed to making leaps and bounds better just by adding his expertise to.

It was in film that he really created some masterpieces that everyone loves. From Pretty Woman to The Princess Diaries to Georgia Rule and his most recent film, Mother’s Day, Marshall worked on what he loved most up until the very end of his life.

His respect for the craft, the knowledge and desire to create something spectacular were only outshone by the positive and kind attitude he brought to every set he was on. Already there is an outpouring of love and admiration for Marshall from all those he touched while he was working with them.

Almost as if written by Marshall himself, Henry Winkler wrote the first tweet, saying “GARRY MARSHALL Rest In Peace. Thank you for my professional life. Thank you for your loyalty, friendship and generosity.”

Famously Single's Calum Best doesn't have a short fuse, Brandi Glanville does

$

There’s something about a bad boy who actually cares that is irresistible. Calum Best is that guy so it makes sense that Brandi Glanville wants to keep him all to herself while they’re rooming together on Famously Single. What doesn’t make sense is how the therapist reprimanded him for Glanville’s bad behavior.

In tonight’s episode we see the fallout from Best saying he would go on a date with another girl who wasn’t Glanville. He thought he had to pick another woman because those were the rules of the exercise as they were explained to him. Glanville immediately got pissy with him and Best was as confused as all of us as to why he turned out the be the bad guy.

More: Brandi Glanville may be searching for her ex Eddie Cibrian anywhere she can

That’s all normal stuff, especially for a reality show based on love and relationships. What wasn’t normal was when the therapist on the show accused Best of having a short fuse and being unable to communicate correctly.

If anyone didn’t communicate correctly, it was the therapist who didn’t make it clear to Best that he didn’t have to choose another girl to take on a date if he would have preferred Glanville.

It’s not so much that she was telling him that he needed to re-evaluate the way he reacts, because maybe that is a valid critique outside of this one incident. What was so maddening about the situation was that Glanville got off without having any of her behavior corrected, when she so clearly reacted out of emotion and insecurity.

More: I'm no therapist, but I know why the cast of Famously Single can't find love

Best is not exclusively dating Glanville. She had no right to paint him as a terrible guy who uses women when he was genuinely trying to use the process to help him be better in love. But her ego was hurt so she acted out.

I get that it would be embarrassing for someone to pick a stranger over you in front of an entire group of people (not to mention the viewers at home), but that doesn’t excuse your behavior. It doesn’t mean that you can pass the blame onto someone else.

If anyone in this house is expected to get some actual help, they need to be congratulated when they do things right, and corrected when they overreact to something meaningless. So far, the signs aren’t pointing to success.
