If you hated Fall Out Boy's Ghostbusters song, here are 8 other covers

0

You've probably heard by now that the upcoming all-female version of Ghostbusters has been met with mixed emotions. While many are super pumped to watch Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones bust the hell out of some ghosts, some people are taking the stance that the remake will destroy their childhood memories.

Now, Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott have officially released their remake of Ray Parker Jr.'s original Ghostbusters theme and, unlike it's movie counterpart, the first release off the new soundtrack is not polarizing the general population. In fact, the consensus seems to be almost unanimous: The Fall Out Boy version ain't so great.

More: SNL's Leslie Jones shuts down Ghostbusters controversy

The song isn't that horrible, but, let's face it, it seems longer than every other song Fall Out Boy has ever written and performed, and we can kind of see why everyone is considering it a desecration of the nostalgic original. We're also kind of wondering why they didn't keep with the all-female theme and just have Elliott record the track.

Whether you love or hate their take on the classic, Fall Out Boy are far from the first to tackle covering the theme song. Here are some others.

1. Hoobastank

Hoobastank's fun version of the song is giving us simultaneous nostalgia for both 2005 and 1984. Where did they find those amazing proton packs?

2. Kasabian

Who knew that listening to a song about busting ghosts could be so mellow?

3. Bobby Brown

OK, so it's not really a cover of the original, but we'd be remiss not to bring up Brown's song off the soundtrack for 1989's Ghostbuster's 2.

5. Conor Oberst

6. This metal version

How to make steak with chimichurri like an Argentine steakhouse chef

Skirt steak with chimichurri is just sophisticated enough to let you get away with pretending you’re a top-notch cook. The truth of the matter is, it's a dish easy enough to whip up in 15 minutes.

More: 8 tips for grilling skirt steak all summer long

My recipe is a cilantro-based chimichurri (because I love cilantro), but you can use any herb you like. If you like basil or mint better, then you can swap in those herbs instead of the cilantro. Once your chimichurri is done, simply grill or sauté your skirt steak for a few minutes on each side, and dinner is served.

Nashville is losing two series regulars, but I'm only sad about one

0
0

It's been a rollercoaster of emotions lately for fans of TV's twangiest series, Nashville. First, Nashies were dealt a blow when ABC dropped the show. Shortly after, in response to the impassioned cry of fans, CMT saved the day by revealing their plans to pick up the show for a fifth season.

More: Nashville is back from the dead! Here's what we need to see in Season 5

And now, nearly two weeks after CMT's joyous announcement, news has broken that series regulars Will Chase and Aubrey Peeples won't be returning when the show does. Sad face, y'all. Sad face.

In a perfect world, all of our beloved series regulars would have signed back on for at least one more season — if for no other reason than the fact that we need closure. Both Chase, who played hunky country superstar Luke Wheeler, and Peeples, who played up-and-comer Layla Grant, ended Season 4 with open-ended arcs.

Chase's character, Luke, just scored a major win against a homophobic TV host when he staged a concert for Will Lexington (a gay artist signed to his label) right outside her studio. Based on a conversation between Luke and Will afterwards, it seemed like a safe bet Luke was going to try to win his ex-wife back.

More: Now that Nashville's over, will Jonathan Jackson return to General Hospital?

As for Peeples' character, Layla, her arc didn't end nearly so well. After manipulating Avery (played by Jonathan Jackson) into a relationship, she began making even dicier movies like staging photo ops with paparazzi and leaking news about Avery's ex, Juliette Barnes (played by Hayden Panettiere).

So, here's the truth: I'm not super heartbroken to see Peeples go. While I think she is a lovely actress and a truly talented musician, I just didn't like her character. Too needy. Too scheming. Plus, she got in the way of Juliette and Avery, and I'm a total Javery shipper.

However, I am deeply saddened to see Chase go. The growth his character has shown in the last four seasons has been tremendous. His story arc last season was actually my favorite. I feel like TV needs characters like Will Lexington, absolutely, but also like Luke Wheeler — the advocates and allies who aren't afraid to say what needs to be said because, to borrow one of Wheeler's lines, they ultimately know they're on the right side of history.

Plus, if we're being completely honest, I really wanted to see who they would cast as Wheeler's wife should he try to rekindle that relationship.

More: 17 unanswered questions from the Nashville series finale

While there's no official word yet on either star's departure, Peeples could be leaving to pursue her career on the big screen — she starred in last year's Jem and the Holograms — or to hit the books. In April 2015, she told Refinery29 that she had Ivy League aspirations prior to landing the part of Layla.

It's oddly comforting to me to know she clearly has such a bright future ahead of her. It makes me feel less bad about not mourning her character's exit on Nashville. But join me, won't you, in a moment of silence for the loss of our dear Luke Wheeler.

What do you think? Are you bummed to see Chase and Peeples go?

I'm so not down for Meredith and Riggs to fall in love on Grey's Anatomy

0
0

Meredith Grey has had more than her fair share of heartbreak on Grey’s Anatomy, so it makes sense that, when Meredith jumped into bed (or, uh, the back seat) with new guy Nathan Riggs at the end of Season 12, fans were skeptical. Is Meredith really ready to move on from Derek’s death? Should she be? Now, slut-shaming aside (seriously, people, it’s been years since Derek’s death), I still don’t think it’s a good idea for Meredith and Nathan to start another epic Grey’s romance.

More: Did Grey's Anatomy just suggest Riggs is Meredith's new Derek?

To be fair, Meredith’s romantic relationship with Nathan is still in the early stages. They’ve only hooked up once (or four times in one night, if you want to take Riggs’ word for it), and neither one seems eager to enter into a full-on relationship. However, I think it’s fair to say that Meredith and Nathan will be hooking up again… possibly multiple times. Actor Martin Henderson, who plays Nathan Riggs on the show, confirmed as much in an interview with TV Line. Nathan and Meredith, he said, understand each other because of their “shared loss,” adding that their similar experiences “may be fertile ground for them to actually have a relationship with some meaning.”

Now, I like Nathan — he’s charming but flawed, not too much of a player and super nice to look at — but I’m not so sure he’s the next love of Meredith’s life. What I am sure of is that I don’t want him to be. And I especially don’t want to see these two become all lovey-dovey next season. Let me be clear: My objection to the Mer-Riggs union has absolutely nothing to do with Derek or the belief that Meredith should still be in mourning. If Meredith wants to fall in love, I am all for it. What I’m not excited about is the idea of having to watch it. Look, Grey’s Anatomy is, essentially, 12 seasons of dramatic romance, so I get that fans expect every new character to fall in love with at least two other doctors at Grey Sloan Memorial. But maybe it’s time to take Meredith off the love roller coaster for a bit and remember that not everyone who has sex falls in love with each other.

More: Why fans still aren't over McDreamy one year later

Nathan and Meredith are fun to watch together because they’re friends — flirty friends, yes, but friends nonetheless. It’s part of their attraction and part of what makes us want to see them hook up. He brings a bit of lightheartedness to Meredith’s life that she more than deserves as a single mother of three. “Nathan is irreverent and kind of calls Meredith on her shit, and that might be really good for her, because he doesn’t take [things] all that seriously,” Henderson told TV Line. If Nathan and Meredith were to fall in love, the spontaneous aspect of their relationship would probably disappear and everything would become serious. That’s just something I don’t want to have to care about, let alone sit through.

There’s also the fact that any Nathan-Meredith love story would eventually have to deal with the fact that Maggie also has a crush on Riggs. Correct me if I’m wrong (I’m not), but sisters don’t normally like to share men, which means that should Meredith and Riggs get closer, drama’s on its way. (On a personal note, as one of three sisters, if Shonda Rhimes makes me sit through a Maggie-Meredith-Riggs love triangle, I might never recover.)

More: Grey's Anatomy: Is it too soon to see Meredith with another man? (POLL)

I just want Meredith to enjoy her new friends-with-benefits relationship and leave all the dramatics and doom and gloom to Alex and Jo or Owen and Amelia; I think they can handle it for a season or two. Is that too much to ask?

The Bachelorette's Jordan Rodgers has had enough of all those dating rumors

0

The Bachelorette contestant Jordan Rodgers is under fire for having an active online dating profile, but he is angrily defending himself.

Rodgers has been accused of having an active profile on the private, members-only dating app Raya — but he says it's total BS.

A Bachelorette fan found the profile and tweeted a heads up to JoJo Fletcher about it.

Entertainment Tonight also found a profile seeming to fit Rodgers, featuring his photo and personal info that matches up.

But Rodgers has angrily denied that he is trying to do anything remotely fishy and he posted a lengthy explanation of why his dating profile still appeared active even though he never meant it to be.

"Unlike every other contestant on this show who was flown [in] for final selection and [a] finalized spot on the show in January, I was never contacted nor was the show even on my radar until early March," he revealed. "Just over a week before filming I was reached out to by a producer.

"I did not sign or agree to do the show until March 12, the day before we reported to [Los Angeles] for filming," he said. "My name was leaked before I ever gave a verbal [agreement] and in fact I said I would not do it, yet I was leaked anyway before agreeing."

He went on to explain that immediately upon signing onto the show, he deactivated his profile and fully deleted it after returning from filming.

"Per contract, immediately after my filming on the show ends I cannot use these types of applications nor would I want to breach contract by doing so," he said. "I immediately deleted the profile as soon as I had access to do so. However the auto renewal had already been processed through the month of May and into June. Despite this I have not used this app, had it on my phone or accessed it in any capacity since my portion of filming was done... any photos attempting to prove otherwise are old screenshots from before filming.

"These reports are false," he continued. "I would not be dumb enough to breach my contract or do anything related to a dating app to give any insight to what may or may not have happened on the show.

"Had I had any lead time more than 24 hours to know I was going to be on this show I would've more efficiently wrapped up issues like this, including my gas/electric bills which I missed and had to try to pay, without access to my phone, from another country during filming," he added.

Rodgers, who was recently branded a cheater by his ex-girlfriend, is currently a frontrunner to win Fletcher's heart.

Bringing Up Bates apparently doesn't equal wealth for the Bates family

0

Tonight's episode of Bringing Up Bates really made me wonder how much the Bates family is making for being on a reality TV show.

More: The new Bringing Up Bates baby name shouldn't come as a surprise

I don't think it's as much as I previously thought.

Of course, throughout the seasons, we've seen the Bateses shopping at some secondhand stores for good deals, but I just thought it was because that's the type of people they are. But after seeing how hard Alyssa and John Webster are working to make ends meet for their family, it really put into perspective that the Bates family is not a wealthy one.

According to Starcasm, the Bates family didn't even have health care as of August 2012.

Gil Bates touched on how the family makes ends meet during an interview with 20/20, explaining, "We try our best to live as cheap as we can. I’m a real penny pincher. I’m probably worse than a penny pincher. We try not to buy stuff that’s full price. We wait till it goes on sale, and if it’s not a necessity, we try not to buy it unless it’s something we really need."

More: Bringing Up Bates officially has our interest again with its new romance

But now that the family has starred in four seasons of their own show, you would think that their financial obligations would be a little less stressful.

Unfortunately, I failed to find any information for this article about the Bates family's paycheck for each episode they film of Bringing Up Bates.

I am definitely not suggesting that the family is going under by any means. I'm sure they are doing just fine. And I kind of love watching for the fact that the Bateses live the simple life and love it. It's just surprising to me that even a reality TV show paycheck apparently isn't keeping this family from putting in the hard work. I mean, Alyssa and John are scrubbing toilets for a living, in between John's other full-time job. That's impressive work and long hours with an infant child.

Even Alyssa commented tonight about their financial state. "I definitely think that a lot of people get the idea that just because, you know, his [John's] dad's a congressman that, you know, we just make tons of money and I'm like, 'No, everything we make, we work hard for.'"

More: Is there trouble in paradise for a Bringing Up Bates courtship?

OK, so a congressman doesn't make you rich, but what about a famous reality TV family? Apparently, that won't do it either when there are 21 mouths to feed in the entire Bates clan.

Are you surprised the Bates family isn't rollin' in the dough?

Jules Wainstein's divorce drama may not be enough to keep her on RHONY

0
0

Jules Wainstein made her The Real Housewives of New York City debut in Season 8, but amid her crazy divorce drama, rumor has it she won't be returning to the show next season.

"Bravo isn't asking Jules back," according to an inside source for Us Weekly.

More: RHONY cast reportedly wants Bethenny Frankel axed from the show

This report comes shortly after the news that Jules and her husband, Michael Wainstein, are getting a divorce after eight years of marriage.

In true Real Housewives fashion, the drama doesn't stop there, though. The former couple engaged in a seriously heated he-said, she-said battle this week, with Jules' rep saying Michael cheated on her with one of her friends, and his attorney claiming she physically attacked back him in 2012.

More: How I knew RHONY's Jules Wainstein was headed for divorce

While divorce drama typically provides juicy fuel for reality television, it seems as though it may not help her stick around on RHONY next season. Despite Wainstein opening up about her eating disorder and chaotic home life on the show during Season 8, she supposedly didn't reveal enough about herself to connect with the network's audience.

"She isn't resonating with viewers," according to Us Weekly's source.

Plus, following fellow housewife Ramona Singer's divorce back in Season 7, the source claims "producers don't want another divorced woman." Yikes.

More: Jules Wainstein addresses thin-shaming with eye-opening anorexia discussion

However, Bravo says not so fast. A rep for the network claims, "That is not accurate — the network hasn't made any decisions about another season or about casting."

It sounds like there could be hope for Wainstein to stick around for another season of RHONY after all! The reality star hasn't addressed the re-casting rumors on Twitter. Instead, she's been busying tweeting about the green tea clearing tonic she created that's sold at Whole Foods and online. Girl's gotta promote her product while she can!

All right, everyone, time to freak out: Supernatural's Sam really did get shot

0
0

It looks like Sam Winchester is going to start Supernatural Season 12 on the wrong foot. Remember how Season 11 ended with Toni Bevelle possibly shooting Sam in the Men of Letters bunker? According to Jared Padalecki, she definitely did.

More: Supernatural: I have never been more worried for Sam and Dean’s future

While chatting with TV Line at the 2016 Saturn Awards Wednesday, Padalecki revealed, "She shot him. I don’t know where, but I know she shot him." Great, Sam gets shot — again. If you recall, Sam also got shot earlier in Season 11, where he almost died. Thankfully, he didn't, but I guess Sam getting shot is just a recurring theme.

Even Padalecki joked about it to TV Line and said, "What else is new — Sam gets injured. At least I’m not getting tortured — yet." Yeah, fans shouldn't dismiss the latter, because Sam rarely avoids pain or drama on the series, that's for sure.

SPN Sam shot

SPN Sam shot

More: Supernatural: Never mind, I don't want Chuck to be God any more

As for him getting shot, well, fans should try to remain somewhat calm, because that doesn't mean Sam's fate is sealed. He could easily survive a gunshot wound. Plus, maybe Toni's shot doesn't seriously injure him, but is more to scare him into doing what she wants. Whatever the case, I doubt that Sam is going to die from her shot in the Season 12 premiere.

Hey, this is the Winchesters we're talking about. They've survived pretty much everything thrown at them, so I think Sam will come out of this situation alive.

Now, all fans have to worry about is Dean coming to Sam's rescue, because it sure looks like his baby brother needs him. Though, I don't know how quickly he will, especially with their mother, Mary Winchester, seemingly rising from the dead.

The upcoming season already sounds promising and filled with excitement. Too bad we have to wait until October.

Supernatural Season 12 premieres Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on The CW.

Gretchen Rossi's mother-in-law stepped in to basically call Bravo liars

0
0

Gretchen Rossi has been getting a lot of heat for what many believe to be her fake proposal to Slade Smiley, and she's been plagued by claims that her decision to propose was simply to keep her role on the show.

More: Tamra Judge, like all of us, was suspicious of Gretchen Rossi's RHOC proposal

To clear the air, Rossi decided to return to The Real Housewives of Orange County in a special uncensored episode, "The Real Housewives of Orange County Uncensored," in which she addressed the rumors surrounding her proposal and confessed that the reason she decided to do it was because the timing just felt right.

There's probably still more than a handful of RHOC fans out there raising their eyebrows at Rossi's reasoning, but Smiley's mother, Elizabeth Larson-Smiley's recent comments may make you think twice.

According to a new report from Radar Online, Larson-Smiley was furious after she watched the "Uncensored" episode (and witnessed Rossi's co-stars' harsh comments about the proposal), and she let her feelings be known in a scathing email to Bravo's production team.

More: Gretchen Rossi goes too far describing her "lovemaking" with Slade

"I am the mother-in-Law (to be) of Gretchen Rossi, and mother of Slade Smiley. I am sending you this email directly and have every intention of copying it to all of the media outlets that have posted negative articles about the kid's engagement," Larson-Smiley reportedly wrote.

She went on to claim that she understands that the shows are edited for dramatic entertainment purposes, but insisted that this time the network had "gone too far," adding that the network should be ashamed of their deceptive portrayal of Rossi and Smiley's engagement.

More: Gretchen Rossi's Vicki Gunvalson reunion makes us think she's returning to RHOC

Larson-Smiley also claimed that there were family and friends at the engagement party, all of whom could "happily debunk your claim about just waiting for a wedding special."

But what about Heather Dubrow's claims that no Housewives were invited to the engagement party because there was no real engagement? According to Larson-Smiley, she is "personally aware" and has "seen the emails from your producers who did not want the other [H]ousewives attending the engagement party because it did not match with 'the storyline.' Why would your team lie and say otherwise?"

Rossi echoed this claim. She previously took to Instagram to tell her co-stars why they didn't get an invite.

“The whole pregnancy thing is new to me, but the thrill of having a baby is not,” she wrote on her website. “We’ve known for a while that we wanted to add to our family and frankly didn’t really care how we chose to do that. We were considering adoption again, fostering or pregnancy if possible. Seeing as I have never been pregnant and, as my OB/GYN reminded me last year, I’m of advanced maternal age, I wasn’t sure pregnancy was even in the cards for us. Turns out it was very much in the cards!”

We turned s'mores into ice cream sandwiches, and we want s'more!

I love, love, love s’mores. Chocolate, graham crackers and marshmallows — that's all you need. But when the inspiration hits, I can't help experimenting with the classic. Enter the s'mores ice cream sandwich.

I made my own graham cracker cookies for this recipe, but you can also use store-bought graham cracker cookies if you’re on a time crunch. Dip the cookies into melted chocolate, add marshmallow fluff and chocolate ice cream, and the recipe is all set.

Softening the ice cream first, spreading it out on a cookie sheet, freezing it and then cutting out a disk the same shape as your cookie is an ice cream sandwich hack we got from Anna Gordon, baker and owner of The Good Batch bakery in Brooklyn.

But what great news could Calvert be talking about? Many believe that the couple is expecting.

"So she's pregnant.@jeremylcalvert505," on_fleek_tootie commented. kelciey3 was also curious about the news, writing, "She looks like a skinny Sammi from jersey shore, is the news a pregnancy?!"

While amberdeconti simply asked, "Is she pregnant?"

JoJo Fletcher is already getting hot and heavy with one of her guys

JoJo Fletcher might not be able to wait until the Fantasy Suit dates on The Bachelorette if her chemistry with her suitor Luke Pell is any indication.

More: Celebs tell us how they really feel about last night's Bachelorette episode

Refinery29 nabbed an exclusive first look at Pell and Fletcher's one-on-one date, and they can't keep their hands off each other.

"I'm running out of words to describe the level of passion that is Luke and me together," Fletcher says in voice-over during the clip as she and Pell kiss, with her hand braced on his thigh.

"Everything about you just makes me want more of you," Pell tells Fletcher before more kissing begins. He adds, "I want to know everything about you."

And, from the looks of it, they aren't wasting any time getting to know each other's bodies.

More: Ben Higgins isn't JoJo Fletcher's only Bachelor ex

Last season's Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe made headlines when she decided to have sex with her suitor Nick Viall before the Fantasy Dates, something considered a bit of a faux pas in Bachelor Nation. But it looks like the streak of fiery women doing things how they want to may continue with Fletcher this season, too.

I say, why not? If she's got the passion and she's feeling it with him, they should explore that without fear of judgment. I thought the same thing of Bristowe. We are modern men and women who should be able to make our own decisions about our bodies and how and when we use them.

That being said, who knows how far Fletcher and Pell will actually take their passion on their date. They may stop at just making out... for now.

More: The Bachelorette's Jordan Rodgers has had enough of all those dating rumors

Check out the full clip over on Refinery29's website.

The Bachelorette airs Monday on ABC at 8/7c.

Do you think Fletcher will go all the way with Pell before the Fantasy Suite dates?

Health apps to get your fitness, napping and doctor's visits in order

Most of us are — at least to a certain degree — addicted to technology. We have smart phones, smart watches and smart fridges. When, God forbid, there is a blackout, we have no idea what to do. While the advent of technology has sped up our lives and done a lot to improve them, the exponential growth of the number of gadgets we think we need on a daily basis is quickly turning us into zombies.

More: 5 tips to amp up your summer fitness

As the saying goes, technology is a double-edged sword. If used in excess, it can eat away at our lives and cage us in a virtual shell. However, we also have to argue for the benefits it can shower on smart users: We have never had access to a wider range of information, the world has never seemed smaller and we have never been as connected as we are today.

In a world where we sit too much and move too little, the app store can literally save lives. Costing nothing and taking up little space, there are countless applications that can help you live to be 100 years old, if you try.

1. Zombies, Run!

Image: Google Play

Probably the most creative idea for a fitness app ever, Zombies, Run! will turn all your otherwise mundane runs into an adventure. With everyone hooked on The Walking Dead, you can now put yourself to the test and see how you'd do in a real-life zombie apocalypse.

Once you've downloaded the app, you'll need to plug in your headphones and you're good to go. When a virtual zombie gives chase, you'll need to put your feet to the ground and move it — humankind depends on you.

The app allows you to run wherever you'd like and is free for iOS and Android, although you can buy supplies for real-world money.

2. Daily Yoga

Image: Google Play

For all the yogis out there, Daily Yoga offers high-quality HD videos for all your asana needs. If you prefer to do yoga at home instead of in a studio and feel you are still in need of instructions, this is the app for you. You will even have access to playlists to help you reach for the Zen.

While yoga has quickly become the go-to fitness routine of many, a lot of people still shy away from trying it out and often have a bit of anxiety about getting down on the mat. Others simply don't have the time to stick to a predefined class schedule. Drop the excuses and don't miss out on all the amazing benefits. Grab Daily Yoga, and you are good to go.

3. Lybrate

Image: Google Play

Lybrate was voted most innovative startup in its category last year, and it is unique in that it brings you in touch with thousands of doctors at the touch of a button. In other words, if you have a nagging backache but think you are too busy to go to a general practitioner or if you are not sure if you are allowed to drink green tea while on the birth control pill, you can log into your app and ask.

The true benefit of apps like Lybrate is that you will no longer have an excuse not to ask a doctor about your fears and worries. Let's face it — we are all already googling every symptom we have ever had and, in the words of Miranda Hobbs from Sex and the City, waiting for the word "cancer" to appear on the screen. You can at least decide to turn to a person with a degree for your fears.

4. Fooducate

Image: Google Play

Do you often find yourself unsure what to buy at the grocery store? Have no fear, Fooducate is here! This handy app will tell you how healthy a product is and will help you stay on track with all your fitness and healthy-eating goals. All you have to do is scan the barcode of the product you are aiming to put in your basket, and voilà — you will know in a second how detrimental to your health it might be.

The apps' database is updated on a regular basis and will most often be able to provide accurate info on calorie count, nutritional values and food points.

5. Sleep Cycle

Image: Google Play

Finally, you'll need an app to help you monitor your sleep. While it may sound a bit far-fetched and unreliable, Sleep Cycle uses sound analysis to determine whether you are in a light or deep phase of sleep and will wake you up accordingly. All you need to do is provide the app with a 30-minute window in which to do the waking.

While you may not realize it consciously, your daily mood is often determined by how you were woken up. Even if you get up every day at the same time, your sleep patterns will differ greatly, and you will not feel as energized on a Tuesday as you did last Friday with the same amount of sleep.

Head over to your app store and download an app that best suits your lifestyle and preferences, and get a head start on your road to longevity.

Why Kourtney Kardashian needs to dump Scott Disick's ass, once and for all

0
0

Everyone who’s been Keeping Up with the Kardashians knows that Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian have had a volatile relationship, to say the least. It’s been almost 10 years since we were introduced to Kardashian and Disick, and that means it’s been about 10 years since I have been waiting for them to break up for good.

It’s been almost a year since Disick and Kardashian officially parted ways in July of 2015, and so far, the two have shown no signs of getting back together. And sources say a reconciliation is unlikely to happen anytime soon. “They are very, very unlikely to get back together,” a source revealed to People. To those of you sad about this news, let’s take a step back and evaluate the situation. Kardashian and Disick should not get back together. In fact, I think they need a clean break, and here’s why.

1. Kardashian wants to change Disick

Scott Disick Meme

Scott Disick Meme

Change can be good, but I’m pretty sure you shouldn’t want someone to change who they are entirely in a relationship. Yet that’s exactly what Kardashian wants if she were to get back together with Disick. “She would never say never, but he needs to completely change his personality,” a source told People of their odds. Think about that for a minute — to get back together with Kardashian, the mother of his three children, Disick would have to “completely change his personality,” as in become an entirely different person. Instead of wasting her time praying for Disick to change, maybe it’s time for Kardashian to just accept that he’s not right for her and move on.

More: No, the Kardashian curse is not a real thing, and it needs to die

2. They want different things

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick (4/2015)

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick (4/2015)

It’s become clear from Keeping Up with the Kardashians that Kardashian and Disick do not want the same things out of life. While Disick would rather be out on the town, Kardashian prefers to stay in with her kids. Kardashian prefers to eat strictly organic and healthy foods, while Disick doesn’t seem to care all that much. I’m not saying that opposites can’t make it work, or that one of them is wrong and the other is right, but it just seems like Disick and Kardashian want different things, and that’s OK.

3. Disick has not stopped drinking

Scott Disick 1 Oak

Scott Disick 1 Oak

Despite his rehab stint following his split from Kardashian in 2015, Disick has reportedly not quit drinking — just like he didn’t quit drinking last time he went to rehab either. Now, it’s not my place to say that Kardashian shouldn’t be with Disick because of his addiction issues. However, Disick’s sobriety and struggle with addiction has been well documented throughout the Kardashian reality empire, so it’s fair to say that Disick has put himself up for examination from the masses.

His decision not to quit drinking makes him a ticking time bomb in my eyes, especially considering his infamous drunken breakdown during a season of Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, which ended with Kardashian and baby Mason leaving their apartment in a hurry as Disick punched a mirror in the bathroom. Over the years, Disick has been on and off the wagon more times than Kim Kardashian has gotten married, which is really saying something. And it doesn’t take an expert to know that this kind of erratic behavior, especially where alcohol is concerned, isn’t conducive to a solid relationship.

More: Scott Disick's taste in women has freaked out Kourtney — but it shouldn't

4. Disick is unreliable

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian Insta

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian Insta

Disick’s addiction problems aside, he’s never been a reliable guy, even when sober. Time and time again, we’ve seen him flake on plans, be late to family events and ditch Kardashian and their kids to hang out with friends. Disick is just plain unreliable, and Kardashian deserves better.

5. They're co-parenting

Mason, Penelope, Reign Disick

Mason, Penelope, Reign Disick

This one isn’t so much a reason that they should break up, but more of a reason why it’s fine if Disick and Kardashian never get back together. If this season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians has proved anything about their relationship post-split, it’s that both of them want to do their best to co-parent their three children. Of course, navigating their new dynamic is difficult for both of them, but the fact that they put effort into co-parenting shows that they can still be a family if they aren’t together, and that’s no easy feat.

More: Since when are Kourtney Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan BFFs?

At the end of the day, Kardashian and Disick are adults, and they can do whatever they want to do with their lives and their relationship. But as long as I'm watching all the drama unfold on television, I'm going to keep rooting for Kardashian to dump Disick for good.

Let's stop acting like breastfeeding is gross if PDA is A-OK

0
0

Dig, if you will, the picture… my husband and I at an intimate candlelight dinner. We’re huddled close over the table, holding hands, kissing, touching foreheads, caressing each other’s cheeks. Our legs are entangled under the table. Our food comes, we eat, taste each other’s dish, feed one another. We’re laughing and looking into each other’s eyes. My dress is deeply cut, the entire inside of my breasts are visible. Killer cleavage. We’re clearly having an intimate evening in public. We’re not ashamed of our affection.

More: Tess Holliday's breastfeeding selfie isn't a breastfeeding selfie after all

Now imagine you overheard comments from a table nearby.

“Why do they have to do that in public?”

“Oh my God, you can see her whole boob!”

“She’s clearly just trying to get everyone’s attention.”

“No one wants to see that.”

“That’s an intimate moment and we shouldn’t have to look at it.”

“That’s between a husband and wife and should be done in private.”

“That’s so gross.”

“She should have more respect for herself than that.”

“I got out to eat with my husband too, but I have more class than that.”

Are you confused yet? You’re thinking, “No one says things like that to a couple having a romantic dinner. This is just silly.” That’s OK. You’re right. No one ever says anything like this to adults eating dinner, sharing intimate moments in public or wearing sexy clothing that displays beautiful breasts.

More: Psst: Even spanking parents know it doesn't make kids behave

But we hear these statements made every day about a mother breastfeeding in public. People list endless stipulations about how a mother should breastfeed. There are rules. Rules about rules. Subcategories of rules about the rules. Opinions are stated as facts. Everyone believes that they are right in how a mother should be feeding her own baby with her own body; a decision that most definitely does not affect anyone but the mother and child.

If someone were to express disdain for my husband and me at dinner, you would certainly say that this person should mind their own business, that this intimate dinner has nothing to do with them and that if they have some personal vendetta against PDA they can simply look away. It’s easy to pick out couples on the street; we don’t feel shame about holding hands or kissing our partners in public. When a couple is having a romantic moment, I tend to look away and give them their space. I figure they are having a moment to themselves and don’t need an audience. I suppose some people might stare; I assume the couple doesn’t care.

More: Mom slammed for letting impressionable little boys see her breastfeed

Why is it so different for breastfeeding mothers? This is an intimate moment between Mom and Baby. Baby is eating. Baby wanted to nurse while Mom was out in public. Mom uses her breast to feed her child (that’s what breasts are for). She is focusing on her baby. She is not drawing attention to herself. She has a great deal of respect for herself and her baby. She is a woman and a mother.

What’s the difference? What’s the big deal?

Anna Duggar gets some birthday love after the toughest year of her life

Anna Duggar, now just two years away from 30, was the subject of a special tribute from two of her sisters-in-law who didn't help her escape when she had the chance.

"We're so grateful for your love for the Lord," said Jana, speaking to Anna in the tribute video. "You just really challenge me in just how you have sought the Lord so much through the good times and the hard times."

"Your genuine love for others is shown by all that you do, even us in our own lives, and always encouraging us," Joy-Anna added.

The sisters also expressed appreciation for the fact that Anna has willingly allowed herself to become the Duggar family's Cinderella, doing all the gross, disgusting chores "no one else wants to do."

Age 27 pretty much sucked for poor Anna. After the shocking public revelation that her husband, Josh, had molested five young girls, including his own sisters, as a teen — a fact Anna said she knew about before she married Josh — he was busted with an Ashley Madison account and admitted to cheating on her with multiple women and to having an addiction to pornography. He spent almost seven months in a faith-based sex rehab program and was released in March.

Hopefully, 28 treats Anna a little better.

However, the couple initially took some flak for their relationship because Thicke's wife, Paula Patton, had only filed for divorce around six months before (in October 2014), and then there was the 18-year age difference. But when it comes to matters of the heart, age is but a number — something Thicke and Geary have recently proved.

The pair are still dating and currently appear to be enjoying a beach vacation. Geary's Instagram is filled with pictures of herself drinking rosé in the sunshine and posing in a bikini.

Lionel Richie will prob have a heart attack over his teen daughter's new BF

Lionel Richie's other daughter who isn't Nicole Richie is dating a much older man, and we're not entirely sure it's legal.

Sofia Richie, 17-year-old younger sister of former reality star turned designer Nicole Richie and daughter of Grammy-winning singer Lionel Richie, was spotted with a much older man Thursday night — and judging by the hand-holding going on, the pair are more than just friends.

Sofia and Manchester City soccer star Samir Nasri were seen leaving Los Angeles hotspot 1Oak together after celebrating his 29th — yes, just one year from 30th — birthday.

That's a 29-year-old man with a 17-year-old girl. She doesn't even turn 18 until August.

Her dad just celebrated his own birthday a few days ago, and rather than party at the club until all hours with him while she's underage, per Sofia's Instagram, a FaceTime session had to do.

"People look at me thinking, 'Oh, you are probably going to go through the same thing,' [Nicole] says. 'Don't let people pressure you to do what they think is cool, like taking drugs. Be true to yourself,'" Sofia said.

Funfetti biscuits with icing recipe

Yields 5

Prep time: 15 minutes | Bake time: 10 minutes | Total time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

For the biscuits

  • 2 cups flour, for the dough
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, chilled (right out of the fridge), for the biscuits
  • 1/4 cup Funfetti candy sprinkles (heaping)
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons flour, for flouring the cutting board
  • 2 teaspoons butter, for greasing the pan
  • 1 egg, beaten, for the egg wash
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • Funfetti candy sprinkles, for garnish
For the icing
  • 1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

For the biscuits
  1. Heat the oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. To a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder, salt, milk, sugar and butter.
  3. Using a pastry cutter or a large, sturdy fork, cut the butter into the flour mixture until the butter is in small crumbles and incorporated with the dry ingredients.
  4. Add about 1/4 of the Funfetti candy sprinkles, and use your hands to knead the dough. Continue adding more Funfetti candy sprinkles and kneading the dough until the candy is evenly dispersed throughout the dough.
  5. Onto a floured cutting board, roll out the dough until it's about 1-1/2 inches thick.
  6. Using a 3-inch circular biscuit or cookie cutter, cut the dough into 5 biscuits.
  7. Grease an 8-inch iron skillet with butter, and add the biscuits to the pan.
  8. To another small bowl, add the egg and water. Whisk together.
  9. Brush the egg mixture on top of the biscuits.
  10. Bake until the tops of the biscuits start to turn a light golden color (about 9 – 10 minutes).
  11. Place the biscuits on a serving dish. Drizzle icing on top, and garnish with Funfetti candy sprinkles.
For the icing
  1. To a medium-size bowl, add all the ingredients, and stir together until incorporated.
  2. Serve drizzled on top of Funfetti biscuits.
