Farrah Abraham's visit to Derek Underwood's grave gets unexpected sympathy

Farrah Abraham has certainly been successful in provoking emotions for 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom viewers throughout her tenure on television. These emotions include anger, confusion, frustration and possibly fear. On Monday's episode of Teen Mom, between Sophia's epic meltdown about not having a father and a visit to Derek's grave, Farrah's situation stirred a new emotion in viewers: sympathy.

More: Farrah Abraham is not the only Teen Mom star who has a sex tape

Hating Farrah seems like it's a full-time job for some people on Twitter, so seeing them express any level of sympathy for her is pretty extraordinary. It was emotional to see Farrah dealing with Sophia's tantrum, especially when it involved the 6-year-old screaming that she wanted to die. The whole situation is a level or two up from last week, when Farrah's biggest issue seemed to be getting kicked out of a party. Derek's absence has been a source of pain for Farrah since her 16 and Pregnant episode, when we learned that they'd been in a relationship when Farrah got pregnant, then broken up and then that Derek was killed in a car accident.

After 16 and Pregnant, though, things got a little murky in regard to Derek. Teen Mom fans expressed their confusion as to what their relationship really was.

Even if someone is terrible and abusive to you, you can still be wrecked when they die. Grief is not black and white, so if Farrah did break up with Derek, she's allowed to feel all her feelings about his death. I seem to remember a story line in the earlier days of Teen Mom in which Farrah cried through several therapy sessions about Derek, how although she and Derek weren't speaking at the time of his death, she had been in love with him, and how her parents weren't at all supportive of her in her grief and instead wanted her to just get over it and move on. Farrah's parents haven't been awesome in many ways — watching the three of them interact can definitely give you the feeling that they'll never forgive Farrah for getting pregnant as a teenager and she'll never be good enough in their eyes.

We might not ever know what really happened with Farrah and Derek, but maybe it doesn't matter. Despite Farrah's abominable behavior, she is a person in pain and is clearly not dealing productively with it. It's good to be able to see her vulnerability sometimes. If nothing else, it's a good reminder that people on reality TV are actual human beings.

The Bachelor contestants disappoint by cruelly attacking Jubilee

She didn't say all the right things tonight. She was definitely awkward, especially at the start of her one-on-one. And she didn't act like all the other girls.

More: The Bachelor's Ben Higgins might have the weirdest women yet

But she absolutely made us fall in love with her tonight.

While a lot of the other girls failed to impress when their claws came out, Jubilee tried her best to stay out of the drama.

Meanwhile, Amber practically (and pretty much literally) tried to drag her into it because Jubilee had a rose yet decided to treat Ben to a romantic massage.

"There's definitely a respectable way to get Ben's attention," Amber said to the cameras, even though Ben had told Jubilee that massages were one of his favorite things.

Then Amber proceeded to try to "girl chat" with Jubilee. And when Jubilee refused to get involved, Amber made it seem like Jubilee was just trying to make herself the center of attention. It was insane.

No wonder the poor girl had a panic attack in the bathroom. She couldn't get away from the crazies any other way!

Luckily, Ben saw right through the BS and was clearly unimpressed.

More: Bachelor in Paradise reportedly nabs Ben Higgins' most dramatic suitor yet

I don't think Jubilee was being overly sexual at all when she offered Ben that massage. Rather, she saw that he'd had a hard day and wanted to show that she was there for him. The gesture was so sweet that it made my heart swell, until Jami interrupted them because she couldn't stand seeing another girl with Ben. Not because Jubilee was wrong, but because Jami clearly had her own set of insecurities to deal with.

Not to mention, Jubilee was one of the only girls we saw actually comforting Ben. He was clearly very upset by the loss of his friends. And all Olivia could talk about were her kankles?

Ben clearly thought Olivia was being insensitive since he was obviously trying to give her a wake-up call by giving her the last rose.

But worse were the girls who could only focus on Jubilee. I bet he wished he could take back that rose he'd given to Amber.

Maybe even better, Ben totally took Jubilee's side when Amber tried to explain herself, and it was awesome.

Ben, you just won major brownie points in my book. Sexier than any of his corny lines or extravagant dates was the way he supported Jubilee and took responsibility for the wellbeing of the ladies' emotions in the house. His mama taught him right! And he proved it tonight with the way he saw through the petty drama.

Now that gets me to swoon.

And it also made me really respect Jubilee for trying her hardest to stand above all the cattiness, which only made the other girls look bad.

I hope the girls' behavior toward Jubilee doesn't keep her from being herself for the remainder of her time on the show. She's clearly a keeper.

Were you as shocked as I was that the girls were so mean to Jubilee tonight?

Woman's attacker wasn't prosecuted for one horrific reason

More: Judge thinks you won't get raped if you stay sober

It sounds crazy, but sadly it's true.

Writing in The Guardian, Greenwood shared the story of her horrific experience. She arrived home after a night out, during which she had a few cocktails, and a man appeared from out of nowhere and punched her three times in the face: twice in the jaw and once in the mouth. He used such force that he broke her front teeth in half and damaged her jaw so severely that she "had to eat mush through a straw for the next month".

While the police were "sympathetic" to start with, the charges of GBH ended up being dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), despite Greenwood having picked the man out of a lineup and being prepared to give evidence.

Shortly before the trial date, she was contacted by the CPS and told that the case had been dropped.

"I turned to the officer in charge of my case for a fuller explanation," she said. "He said the CPS didn’t think the artist’s sketch and the suspect looked alike. Moreover, 'they have grave concerns about the fact that you had been drinking on the night'. The case had been dropped, he said, due to lack of evidence."

More: Petition calls for Essex Police to ditch 'victim-blaming' posters

Lack of evidence? Or lack of sobriety? Since when were criminal charges dropped because the victim had been drinking?

"I had gone out, had a few drinks and so was not credible," said Greenwood. "I had held the entitled conviction of a middle-class, white British woman that all victims of violent crime could expect access to justice. They can't, it turns out — and particularly not if they have been drinking."

And if it wasn't enough that Greenwood had been cast as an unreliable witness, there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. In the U.K., victims have no legal rights, so she couldn't fight for the suspect to be prosecuted.

Later this month, Keir Starmer, Labour MP for Holborn and St Pancras and former director of Public Prosecutions, will launch a Victim Support bill, which will be the first piece of governance around victim's rights in the U.K. — if it becomes law.

The bill will set out a framework for victim's services and a legally enforceable code for victims, including the right to question the CPS on a decision to drop a case.

"We will only see the cultural shift we need on victim's rights when they are enshrined in a Victim's Law," Starmer wrote in The Huffington Post. "This would be a powerful break with the current piecemeal approach and help tackle one of the most fundamental problems in our criminal justice system: a lack of faith among victims that they will be supported, listened to and treated fairly."

"Stained glass" hearts

Image: Amy Vowles and Michelle Maffei/SheKnows

Kids of all ages can make these "stained glass" hearts to hang in the window. Young kids will need an adult to do the ironing to seal the hearts together. This is a cool craft to do at a kids' Valentine's Day party or just as an afternoon craft with your own children.

Supplies:

  • Wax paper
  • Crayon shavings (adult should shave crayons with scissors)
  • Scissors
  • Iron
  • Yarn

Directions:

  1. Each child should cut 2 identical hearts out of wax paper.
  2. Sprinkle a light layer of various colors of crayon shavings on one of the hearts. Cover the shavings with the second heart.
  3. Place a paper towel on the top of the heart to protect your iron. An adult will then seal the wax paper together with the iron on low heat.
  4. Punch a hole near the top of each heart and string yarn through the hole for hanging. The "stained glass" hearts can be hung in the window.

Heart wreath

Christmas isn't the only holiday for wreaths. If you want an easy craft for kids to make at a Valentine's Day party, this heart wreath is just perfect. With construction paper and just a few other supplies, kids can make these Valentine's Day heart wreaths.

Supplies:

  • Paper plate
  • Poster board
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Construction paper
  • Markers
  • Glue stick

Directions:

  1. Trace around the paper plate with the pencil onto the poster board. Then draw another circle about 1-1/2 inches inside the first one. Cut out both circles to create the wreath base.
  2. Make a heart pattern out of the scraps from the poster board. Use the pattern to make enough pink and red hearts to go all the way around the wreath (approximately 12).
  3. Write messages on each heart (like you would find on conversation candy hearts). Arrange the hearts on the top of the wreath base and use the glue stick to attach them.

Whether you keep as a decoration or give as a sweet Valentine's Day tiding, your child will adore crafting a heart-shaped mouse!

Supplies:

  • Red card stock paper
  • Pink card stock or construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Red pipe cleaner
  • White glue
  • Wiggle eye
  • Black marker

Directions:

  1. First, fold your red card stock in half. Starting at the folded line and cutting towards the open side, help your youngster cut out a half of a heart shape that will open up to a full-sized heart. There's no right or wrong size when it comes to this craft for kids, so long as it makes a general heart shape.
  2. Using the scraps from the red card stock paper, cut out a smaller heart using the same technique to form the ear for the Valentine's Day craft mouse. Repeat with pink card stock, creating a slightly smaller heart to fit inside the small heart and glue the 2 hearts together.
  3. Next, fold the large heart in half again and adhere a half of a length of red pipe cleaner to the inside of the heart to form a tail. At this point you'll also want to glue the heart shape in half permanently.
  4. Now, glue the heart ear and a wiggle eye to the pointy side of the half-heart shape.
  5. Finally, use the black marker to draw on a little mouse nose and whiskers to the pointy side of the half-heart shape and your Valentine's Day craft for kids is ready for love!

Next Up: Salt dough conversation hearts

Keep them year after year or give them as gifts — your kids will love making these salt dough conversation hearts adorned with their favorite sweetheart candy sayings.

Supplies:

  • 1 cup flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • Food coloring
  • Rolling pin
  • Cookie sheet
  • Cookie cutter
  • Red marker

Directions:

  1. First, preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
  2. Mix flour, salt and water together in a bowl until dough is formed.
  3. Separate dough into enough portions for the number of colors you wish to use and knead a few drops of food coloring into each portion until your dough is the color of the conversation heart candy of your choosing.
  4. Working with one color of dough at a time, roll the dough on a floured surface with a floured rolling pin to about 1/4-inch thickness and use the cookie cutter to cut out heart shapes.
  5. Repeat with each color separately.
  6. Carefully place the hearts onto an ungreased cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 1-1/2 to 2 hours. You want your salt dough to be hard, but not burnt. Also keep in mind that they harden as they cool, even if they come out slightly puffy from the oven.
  7. Once cooled, use a red marker to write your favorite conversation heart phrases onto your baked salt dough shapes. You can display them on your favorite Valentine's Day plate or in a bowl year after year — or let your youngsters give them as gifts.

Note: Since this craft takes 2 hours to bake, for parties that do not have the luxury of time, you may consider baking the hearts ahead of time and letting kids decorate them at your V-day bash.

It isn't exactly the life you imagined — it's better, but not the kind of better that you're expecting. I know that you're currently infatuated by the boozy bliss of collegiate freedom, so it's unlikely that the image of two adorable little blonde toddlers would serve as a catalyst in anticipating the future, but you'll get there eventually. Oh, wait a second; you don't want kids, do you? Or to get married, or to be bound by the restrictive confines of societal conformity because you're so ideological and "cool." Pardon me while I go laugh hysterically...

Remember that guy who also never wanted to get married or have kids, and was equally enthused about the nomadic adventures that the two of you so deeply craved? The tall, dark, handsome one? He's an incredible husband and an even better father, and he also ages like a fine wine. I don't want to give away all the goods, but the two of you get married and have two boys together. They're 15 months apart (not intentionally), and even though they drive you crazy, you stare at them like a total creep while they're sleeping because you're so freaking in love with them.

Your life is about to change in ways that you never imagined, but you'll still hold steadfastly to your strong will. In fact that strong will is exactly what led us to where we are today, and just so you know —we're incredibly happy. There's a lot coming your way, and whether you realize it now or not, it's right around the corner, so you should probably rest up.

Enjoy sleeping in on Sundays (or any day for that matter) and drinking mimosas at brunch. Also, enjoy the speed in which you recover because your body is about to turn on you. Revel in the cleanliness of your apartment and the free time you spend not doing mountains of laundry. Embrace your Hot Wheels-free existence, your perfect throw pillows and your comically small high school jeans.

You should understand that you're not invisible, nor are you immune to the effects of aging. Your bras are going to eventually resemble hardware, and the bra fitter at the maternity store is going to mock you relentlessly as you attempt to tame your side boob in double-D cups. You have no idea what's about to happen up there. Your body is going to change. It's not going to look like it runs 10 miles every day anymore, and that's going to affect you in ways you thought you were immune to. Try to keep in mind that your body did something truly amazing — it brought life to two incredible little boys that melt your heart into a sentimental pile of mush every single day.

As it turns out, we're actually not so bad at the whole mom thing, and our boys are pretty much awesome; smelly, but awesome. They say please and thank you, and do touchdown dances when Tennessee scores. They high-five strangers in Target (we go there way too much, by the way), and give the sweetest goodnight kisses. Motherhood is hard, yes, but it's also remarkable to watch our kids grow and play and learn and thrive.

You're going to get crapped on a lot, both physically and metaphorically speaking. It never ceases to amaze me how much our life revolves around the bowel movements of two little humans (it's not as bad as it sounds, I promise). Also, the people that you would never expect to let you down are, well, going to let you down. You're going to have to say goodbye to some people you love long before you're ready, and though you've done that before, it never gets any easier. That's going to suck... big time. But you're soon going to realize that you've got some truly incredible people in your life. They're going to offer you a shoulder to cry on, and at some point you're actually going to use it (yes, really). They're going to pour you drinks without judgment and listen to your endless, annoyingly drunken rants.

Really, I just want you to calm the heck down. Things turn out OK for us. More than OK, actually. It's beautiful here — messy, smelly and covered in either urine or crackers, but beautiful nonetheless. So stop worrying and take a nap while you still can.

Sincerely,

Josh Duggar gets slammed by his former friend, Mike Huckabee (VIDEO)

Presidential candidate Mike Huckabee has stood by the sides of the Duggar family through numerous scandals, supporting them and their values. But although Huckabee still speaks highly of the family itself, that sentiment no longer appears to include Josh Duggar, who was at the center of multiple major scandals last year, including the revelations that he had molested his sisters as a teenager and cheated on his wife through Ashley Madison.

Huckabee made his new stance clear during a recent campaign stop. When a woman asks him about his views on child abuse and his relationship with the Duggar family, his reply gets heated.

"You don't know — ma'am, I'm sorry, but I'm going to stop you... you're accusing me of supporting child abuse," he rants. "And I'm going to take you on on that because that
hurts my feelings and is absolutely... let me tell you something: You have no idea what you're talking about. You don't know that family and I do. You don't know them. I've never supported child abuse. Let me finish."

More: New Anna Duggar rumors suggest she might be pregnant with baby No. 5

Amid interruptions from the woman, Huckabee continues, "You accuse me of supporting child abuse. You do not know that family. I never supported anything that happened to those daughters. I supported the fact that those daughters were maliciously and savagely abused, not just by their brother, but by the news media who exploited them for their own purpose without proof of what it was doing to those young ladies. I know them. I've known them since they were babies. You don't know what those parents did and how they worked to try to take care of their entire family. You don’t know."

As the woman continues the push for answers, Huckabee gets angrier.

"No. You know what? You've come in here to confront me, which is fine," he says. "But you cannot abuse, which is what you're doing, the reputation of a godly family who have been through hell because a son of theirs — one of their many children — did something evil and sinful that nobody is backing up and supporting. But I would support any family who tries to work through their problems under the grace of God."

Men get sad about single life on Valentine's Day more than women do

According to a new national survey, it turns out men are just as likely to get emotional around Feb. 14.

Dairy Queen partnered with relationship expert Dr. Joseph Cilona to look at how gender, relationship status and location affect our take on Valentine's Day. They surveyed 1,200 adults, both single and in relationships, aged 21 to 54. The results showed that single men are more likely to feel sad that they aren't in a relationship than single women. (Maybe that's because we have Galentine's Day, right ladies?)

Even more telling, 25 percent of single men have lied about having Valentine's Day plans when they didn't. It's almost refreshing to know that men feel the pressure of this made-up holiday as much as women do.

More: Guys reveal what they really want for Valentine's Day

Love isn't the only realm where men are upending gender norms. A recent survey of 400 men and women by RealSelf and Grooming Lounge showed that men devote more time to grooming than women. The majority of men surveyed spent 31 to 45 minutes getting ready each morning, while women were more likely to be good to go in 16 to 30. Men are also devoting about three times as much time to hair care as women — 70 percent of men report spending one to three hours in the salon each month, compared to 39 percent of women. Is it possible that the more well-groomed men get, the closer we are to gender equality?

Some of Dairy Queen's data did feed into the cliché: Your climate can affect how invested you are in Valentine's Day, exactly in the way that you think. Hotter climates tend to be happier and have more success during this romantic holiday. The Southern and Western U.S. report the highest level of romance (no word on how that was measured) and happiness. True to form, the Midwest came in the middle of the U.S. regions. The frigid Northeast came in last. Perhaps the Northeast is in for better luck this Valentine's with this year's mild winter?

"Taylor has asked Bentley to be his ’mini’ best man, and Bentley agreed. Not sure he is aware of the responsibilities of a best man, but I’m sure he will do just fine! Jayde will definitely have a part in our wedding too — it’s just a matter of figuring it out considering she is still so young. I am excited to have them share this day with us."

Orange Is the New Black theory: Alex didn't die; she just flew the coop

$
0
0

The last time we saw Alex Vause, Piper's on-again, off-again girlfriend, she was in Litchfield Penitentiary's greenhouse. As she stayed behind at the end of her work shift to clean up, a new Litchfield guard approached her — and it's Aydin, one of Kubra's assassins.

More: Orange Is the New Black Season 3 drinking game

Alex has been on Kubra's bad side before, and when it happened, Aydin was the one tasked with disciplining her. Alex also watched Aydin kill Fahri, so she's well aware of his capabilities. She spent all of Season 3 feeling terrified that Kubra was after her for testifying against him, and when Aydin appears in the final episode, we realized that her fears were actually quite justified.

Or were they?

Since Season 3's release last summer, plenty of fans have been convinced of Alex's fate.

Yet, the teaser for Season 4 opens with her voice, asking: "How am I back here?"

To be clear, this isn't a new line of dialogue. It's a question Alex asked Piper at the start of Season 3, when she was getting over the shock of returning to prison for violating her probation. But the choice to include it in the Season 4 teaser is suggestive, to say the least.

One implication is that Aydin didn't come to Litchfield to kill Alex — perhaps, instead, he came to save her. Sure, Kubra can't be please to know that his former protégé has been testifying against him, but it's possible he knows that she's still capable of doing a lot of good for him — and it would be in his best interest to keep her alive, protect her and even help her escape.

More: OITNB Season 3: 15 Unexplained details that need to be deciphered

There wouldn't have been any safe or logical way for him to communicate this plan to Alex, though. Not before the plan was ready to be implemented. All he could do was get a henchman like Aydin to weasel his way into the prison and try to break her out. Which, naturally, Alex would perceive as a death sentence, because what else has ever come of Kubra's scheming?

So my new theory about OITNB Season 4 is that Alex's murder is an elaborate setup to conceal her escape. We already know, of course, that it won't work; just like the others, Alex always ends up back in Litchfield. And we know that she'll be returning this season, and it's highly unlikely that her character is going to have an elaborate subplot outside of the prison gates.

Dead or alive, escaped or confined, Alex Vause will be returning for the new OITNB season this summer. We'll just have to wait a few more months to figure out how, exactly, she's been surviving all this time.

Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams teases Jon Snow's living dead return

We know the adorable Maisie Williams as the irreverent, teenaged swordswoman, Arya Stark, in our favorite fantasy show, Game of Thrones. It seems like she, along with the rest of us, is also reeling from the brutal death of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), last season.

Nominated for the Young British Performer of the Year Award at the London Critics' Circle Awards for her role as Lydia in the indie film The Falling, Williams walked the red carpet with an excitement so palpable, she seemed to buzz.

But when an interviewer for The Upcoming asked her about Jon Snow's death, her answer was quite befuddling. She revealed that something quite unexpected is in store for Jon Snow in Season 6.

Jon Snow
Image: HBO

"There's a great twist, but I can't say that he's going to be alive," said Williams. So, he's dead but still hanging around somehow?

More: Game of Thrones hits rock bottom with Sansa's horrific wedding

Let's think for a moment. There are all sorts of supernatural elements that inhabit the GOT plot lines, from sorcery to dragons. We already know the show's producers are purposefully going to veer away from the books by George R. R. Martin, but what exactly do they have in mind? It would be too easy to conclude that Jon Snow will appear in flashbacks; that doesn't seem meaty enough. Having him come back as a zombie seems off-genre. Jon Snow haunting the show as a ghost seems too Shakespearian, but it would be a big twist.

We think it's most likely that the body of Jon Snow will somehow be reanimated by Melisandre (Carice van Houten), member of the cult of the red god R'hllor, through some sort of magical spell.

If this is the case, we can't expect the lionhearted Jon Snow we all fell in love with to return. Most likely, he'll be tortured with Melisandre's personal agenda and act as a warrior on her behalf. Watch the interview below and let us know what you think.

Supernatural's Castiel could be on his way to becoming Lucifer's vessel

More: Supernatural: 7 Bobby and Rufus moments that need to be in Season 11

Whoa. What? Now, if this is the direction Season 11 is taking, I don't know for certain. However, the trailer does spell that bad things are ahead for Cas. Sam and Dean are heard discussing "getting him back," which I assume means the beloved angel. Then, Dean says, "No matter how much it hurts, no matter how hard it gets, we gotta keep grinding. And that’s how we’re going to win. We’re going to save Cas. We’re going to ice the Devil. And we’re going to shank The Darkness and anyone that gets in our way — or God help them."

So, why does Cas need saving? He's been out of the picture for a while recuperating after being under Rowena's spell, but maybe he comes to Sam's rescue regarding Lucifer. Knowing Cas, to protect both Winchesters, he may offer to become Lucifer's vessel to prevent Sam from having to do it. Plus, if Lucifer can really fight The Darkness, Cas might be willing to do whatever it takes.

Some might think I'm grasping at straws here, but if you take a moment to watch the below video (why wouldn't you, especially when Dean is dressed as a sailor?), there appears to be a moment between Rowena and Cas filled with sexual tension. Remember how Crowley's mother had the hots for Lucifer? If Cas is Lucifer's vessel, that would explain their touchy-feely interaction. Or, you know, maybe Castiel is getting ready to choke/kill Rowena?

If that isn't ominous enough, there's a moment in the trailer where Cas opens up his shirt and burned onto his chest are the words, "I am coming." Is this a message from God? Here's hoping, because now more than ever, he might be the only one who can save Cas, Sam, Dean and everyone else from The Darkness — and even Lucifer.

Young Australians are lagging behind when it comes to digital intelligence

Research released at the World Economic Forum at Davos compared young people from nine nations and their digital proficiencies.

1,000 people between the ages of 16 and 25 were polled from each country, including Australia, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, South Africa, Britain and the United States.

The study, conducted by leading IT firm Infosys, found that not only are young Australians not particularly optimistic about their job prospects but only 19 per cent showed an interest in coding, the lowest figure reported by all nine countries.

More: 10 Adulting awards we wish were real

This telling information comes just a few short months after Malcolm Turnbull announced a $1 billion innovation statement, aimed at enabling startups and collaborations between the public and private sector.

The government will also contribute $51 million over five years to help Australian students "embrace the digital age and better prepare for the jobs of the future".

"Part of being a government committed to innovation is to lead by example and respond to changing circumstances," the statement read.

Clearly the circumstances reveal that Australia's young people aren't in touch with the opportunity that digital intelligence can provide.

More: Why you should consider purchasing a franchise this year

But how can we ensure it's made a priority, so we're not left behind in the world of innovation and technology?

1. Build some confidence in the area

Young Australians, while being among the most aware of the power of technology and role it will play in the future of business and innovation, lack confidence to pursue this area. In order to build confidence, we need to inspire our young people to get involved and learn about different technological skills. "This disparity needs to be addressed so we can empower our future leaders to succeed in the workforce of the future," Infosys Australia and New Zealand vice-president and regional head Andrew Groth says.

2. Seek opportunities to learn new skills

In 2015 it was found that only 32 per cent of Australian students said they have been given an opportunity to learn coding in school. Two-thirds of students said they wanted to learn coding, but didn't know how to pursue it. Making these opportunities available is fundamental if we want the knowledge of our young people to expand. Look for courses and opportunities by searching online or talking to the school.

3. Get creative

Think outside the box. I know it sounds cliché but hear me out. There are loads of startups, incubators and other industry bodies out there that are facilitating digital growth. Take a look at what other digital companies are doing around the world in order to get inspired to create your own opportunities. According to research, young people today aren't fixated on securing one job for the rest of their lives, entrepreneurship is a real possibility. "Research shows that young people recognise a 'job for life' is a thing of the past and so they can expect to retrain and re-skill a number of times during their working life," Business Council of Australia chief of staff Matt Garbutt said.

What do you think about young Australians and their level of digital intelligence? Let us know.

Eva Marie reveals her plans to make amends on Total Divas Season 5

This is a super-exciting time for Eva Marie. In addition to making a name for herself in the WWE and on Total Divas, she is busy pursuing a career in acting (her mentor is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson!) and making the world a more stylish place with her own hair extension line, which reflects her vivaciousness.

More: Total Divas' Paige reminds fans that she's far from perfect (EXCLUSIVE)

In the past, Eva Marie's feisty personality came through in her interactions with the other Divas. It would be an understatement to say that she and her fellow Total Divas cast members didn't get along. That is all about to change, as she has a new lease on life. "I definitely tried to stay out of as much drama as I could this season, considering I had enough of it last season."

In order to get past the drama, she had to make amends with the other Divas, many of whom were angry about the special treatment she allegedly received. According to Eva Marie, fans can expect to see a lot of her "mending some relationships with the girls" when Total Divas returns.

More: Nikki Bella dishes on the pressure of leading the Divas Revolution (EXCLUSIVE)

WWE fans have frequently blasted Total Divas for its lack of focus on wrestling and the hard-core training the Divas must pursue in order to be ring-ready. This will not be a problem going forward, for, as Eva Marie reports, it's going to be all about the ring in Season 5. Die-hard WWE fans will be glad to learn that there will be a greater emphasis on NXT than there has been in the past. "You're going to see a lot of my matches and my progression and training on NXT... it's cool not only to show the WWE but also the NXT universe and how things work within WWE."

Eva Marie is especially excited for viewers to witness her title match with fellow NXT star Bayley. She admitted, "I would love to have a continuous feud with [Bayley]. Not only is she a great person to work with, we have awesome chemistry while we're in the ring. She's a great person to tell a great story with."

More: 11 Things to know about Mandy, Total Divas' newest star

Bayley is Eva Marie's favorite opponent, but if allowed to create her own tag team, she would choose Nia Jax in a heartbeat. She told SheKnows, "[Nia Jax] is in NXT right now and I really hope I can team up and tag with her. I think we'd be dominant. I'd love to make that progression up on the main roster and take over the division that way."

Just as accomplished outside of the ring as she is while wrestling, Eva Marie now has her own hair extension line. Her hair extensions are, as expected, bright red, although Eva Marie has expressed interest in eventually changing her own hair color. In an exclusive interview with SheKnows, Eva Marie admitted, "I can't wait to make another hair color line because I'm not going to have red hair forever." There is the possibility that she will eventually go back to the jet black color that she had when she first entered the WWE. For now, however, she's happy to remain a redhead with a feisty personality to match.

Whether she ends up in a tag team with Nia Jax or in Hollywood, it's clear that exciting things are in Eva Marie's future. Learn more about her NXT and WWE journey on Total Divas, which returns to E! at 9 p.m. EST on Jan. 19.

Arrow spoilers: Roy Harper may have met his fate in that dreaded grave

More: The Flash & Arrow crossover spoilers: 6 Most exciting details (VIDEO)

It's been teased that Colton Haynes would be reprising his role as Roy sometime in Season 4, and that's definitely been confirmed in the new promo released Tuesday. In addition to Roy, many familiar faces have returned, including Katana and Shado's twin sister Mei (or is it Shado?).

That said, really anyone could be in that grave, but based on Oliver's expression and Barry Allen showing up to support his friend in his time of need, it has to be someone he deeply cares about, like Roy. Seeing as Haynes is no longer a series regular and only pops up from time to time, it would make some sense to kill him. He is no longer a huge part of Team Arrow, nor Thea's major love interest anymore, so maybe this is the perfect time to off him?

Is it better to kill off a major character or someone who guest stars every now and again? Is there really any good time to say goodbye to a beloved character? No, there's not, especially if it's Roy, whom I adore deeply. Arrow's already faked his death once, so maybe this time around they'll throw fans for a loop and do it again, but permanently.

More: 8 Reasons Arrow's resurrection story lines are getting annoying

Plus, as executive producer Wendy Mericle told TV Line about Roy's return, "Whenever we bring people back — same with Sara — we always have a very specific character reason in mind. We wanted to see Colton [Haynes] again, we wanted to bring Roy back into the fold — at least temporarily. He’s going to have a really cool and emotional story with Oliver and Thea when he comes back."

She uses the words "temporarily" and "emotional," so maybe those are clues to Roy's possible death. However, Mericle also describes his story line as "cool," which means maybe I'm way off-base with the identity of whoever is in that dreaded grave.

Whatever the case, someone dying on Arrow is never a good thing, especially if it's someone who's a fan favorite.

Arrow airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.

Smoking restrictions on YouTube videos could help curb poor health choices

Thirty years later, images of cigarettes and alcohol are still making their way onto our television and computer screens and it's having a damaging effect on teenagers, research has found.

A recent study published by the British Medical Journal found that a variety of popular video clips, including Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and Beyoncé's "Drunk in Love", featured images that glorify the use of tobacco, alcohol and e-cigarettes.

More: This man burned money to motivate himself to work out

The same researchers said that young people who are exposed to alcohol and tobacco are much more likely to consume them themselves.

There are strict laws about cigarette and alcohol advertising on television and in film in Australia, but it is easy for images of people smoking and drinking to slip through the cracks through online video clips because they aren't subject to age restrictions and regulations.

According to research, nearly half of all the popular movies released in 2009 contained some sort of image of smoking including 54 percent of the films that were rated PG-13.

Subsequently, much research went into the relationship between young adults seeing smoking depicted in film and then taking up smoking themselves.

More: The Biggest Loser trainer criticised for postpartum exercise advice

According to a 2012 report, "The evidence is sufficient to conclude that there is a causal relationship between depictions of smoking in the movies and the initiation of smoking among young people."

Smoking claims the lives of 15,500 Australians each year and the most recent data from 2014 says that approximately 5 per cent of 12 to 17-year-olds are smokers.

The research published by the British Medical Journal claims that because of the restrictions placed on tobacco and alcohol companies to advertise, they are using music videos and YouTube clips as a way of being seen by a young and impressionable market.

No doubt watching videos of their idols smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol is going to normalise the act and encourage kids that smoking and drinking is cool again.

For concerned parents and adults, though, there are YouTube filters that can be enabled to make sure kids cannot access certain content. You must be logged into a YouTube account to activate the restricted mode, which means inappropriate content will be filtered out. YouTube warns that these block-out methods aren't completely accurate, though, so other filter systems and programs can be bought or downloaded as a substitute.

This is particularly good for the younger kids, but no doubt the teenagers will be able to navigate their way around these types of restrictions easier than we can set them up.

What do you think? Should there be tighter YouTube restrictions when it comes to advertising? Let us know.

Domestic violence victim shares injuries from vicious attack on Facebook

She posted a video on the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence Facebook page on Jan. 16 detailing her own story of domestic abuse at the hands of her "love-no-longer" — her boyfriend.

More: Stigma facing male domestic abuse victims has to stop

"A few days after Thanksgiving this past year, my love went straight psychotic and beat me brutally for 10 hours. He had planned it out; I was supposed to die," she wrote in the video caption. "I survived or escaped, whatever you want to call it, and spent four days in the hospital, eyes swollen shut, wondering why, wondering why."

Amaker was left with serious injuries on her body that will heal, but she'll be left with some physical signs of the awful abuse she endured.

"I asked my doctor why I look different in the mirror, assuming it's a psychological consequence of savagery," Amaker wrote of her injured face. "Softly she remarked that all of my bones are bruised, quarter-inch ridges that I can feel — my face is different, it's one-half inch wider now."

She made the post public, she said, to create a "small triumph" in her battle in order to "salvage anything from my shipwrecked heart." Her ex now faces felony charges and several years in prison for the savage attack.

"Domestic violence is not a faraway issue," she continued. "It affects people you know, cheerful people, people who sing, people who love. We the humans must be better, kinder, stronger. We the loving must not tolerate abuse. We the living must facilitate life."

These days I'm all about leggings (who isn't?), but I wonder if in 20 years I'll feel the same way about my favorite athleisure wear as I do about the thong-short combo. Probably, judging from Mode's latest "100 Years Of" video featuring fitness gear from the 1910s until now.

100 years of workout style

100 years of workout style

The video features Blogilates founder Cassey Ho showing off the best of the best from days gone by, ranging from full maxi skirts, button-down blouses and heels during the '20s and '30s to the super-styling sweatsuits of the '90s.

The video also shows various workout devices from each period, and save for some — like the vibrating contraption that looks more like a sex device than workout equipment — the rest aren't that different than what we use today.

The biggest takeaway for me is that fashion comes and goes, but keeping yourself healthy never does. And no, you shouldn't take this as the end-all, be-all of workout wear. Feel better working out in a sports bra and shorts? Go for it. T-shirt and basketball shorts? More power to you. Wear what makes you feel best — that's what fashion should be all about.

Shadowhunters' lame reveal could actually lead to something major

More: Shadowhunters: "Is Valentine Clary's father?" and 12 other premiere questions

While visiting the City of Bones alongside Jace, Izzy, Alec and Simon, Clary set off to have the Silent Brothers (who literally have their eyes and mouths sewn shut) uncover her memories that her mother had Magnus erase. Jace and the others hoped to learn the whereabouts of The Mortal Cup, aka the most powerful object for Shadowhunters that can create more Shadowhunters and can control demons. Of course, it wasn't going to be easy, because if Clary couldn't handle the pain, then she would die.

Spoiler: She didn't die. That said, she did receive quite the shock in no relation to The Mortal Cup. In a past memory, Clary overheard her mother, Jocelyn, and Luke talking about her father. "Isn't he supposed to be dead?" you might be asking yourself. Yes, that's what Jocelyn told Clary, but guess what? He's alive! That's not the only so-called shocker, because his identity was also unveiled.

Are you ready? Clary's father is Valentine. Clearly, this isn't news to fans of the books, but it most definitely is to anyone new to the story, including myself. Oh, and it shocked and upset Clary, too. I mean, if I learned that my father who I thought was dead is actually alive and is evil, yeah, I'd be feeling a lot of emotions as well.

Clary and Jace

More: Shadowhunters spoilers: Will the show live up to the book series?

That said, it was pretty apparent from Episode 1 that Valentine is Clary's father. If you recall, Valentine had a telling expression on his face in hearing that Jocelyn had a daughter. That moment gave it away. Maybe some other viewers didn't pick up on it and were shocked. However, for those who were expecting Valentine to be Clary's dad, it was a bit lame. I mean, at least try to surprise us somehow.

I'm hoping this isn't any indication of what's to come, aka future yawn-worthy reveals. Though, maybe the series is trying to get the most obvious information out there in the open immediately and is saving the good stuff for later.

Also, I'm still hoping that there is more than meets the eye to this whole Clary being related to Valentine thing. Seeing as her memories were erased and her mother kept a lot of secrets from her, I have a feeling fans don't know the half of what's coming up in future episodes. Well, let's hope so.

Shadowhunters airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Freeform.

Lisa Rinna's 5 nosiest RHOBH moments

1. When she became the Meghan Edmonds of RHOBH

On RHOC, Meghan Edmonds instigated drama by digging into Brooks Ayers' cancer. The RHOBH equivalent involves Yolanda Foster, who, (surprise, surprise) has been questioned extensively about her Lyme disease diagnosis.

2. That time she accused Brandi Glanville of being an alcoholic

Several Housewives have expressed concern regarding Brandi Glanville's booze consumption, but Glanville found Rinna's questioning most annoying. After Rinna claimed that Glanville desperately needed to put herself in rehab, Glanville responded by advising her RHOBH frenemy to mind her own business.

3. Last season's drama with Kim Richards

Rinna is very, very curious about Kim Richards' sobriety and legal drama. This is nothing new; last season, viewers claimed that Rinna's poking and prodding actually prompted Richards' meltdown.

4. Repeated inquiries about Richards, even after she's departed RHOBH

Never one to let an issue rest once it has captured her interest, Rinna has continued to question Kyle Richards about her sister's functioning, despite the fact that Kyle is clearly not eager to talk about her family's ongoing drama.

5. When she questioned new Housewife Kathryn Edwards about her ex-husband and O.J. Simpson

Typically, Housewives wait until they've been hanging out for at least a few minutes before they start to make new cast members feel super uncomfortable. But Rinna decided that it was better to rip the Band-Aid off right away by approaching newbie Kathryn Edwards with a super-awkward comment about O.J. Simpson. Evidently, Edwards' ex Marcus Allen had previously been accused of having an affair with Nicole Brown Simpson. This is all very interesting, but it's not a good way to welcome a new cast member to the show.

More: RHOBH fans concerned about Yolanda Foster's use of colonics

Rinna's nosiness was a popular topic on Twitter during tonight's episode of RHOBH. As expected, several social media users spoke ill of Rinna. These critics mentioned Rinna's excessive interest in the private lives of Kim Richards, Yolanda Foster and Kathryn Edwards. Suffice to say, Rinna is not the most popular lady on RHOBH at the moment!
