It's hard being the young mom in a sea of older moms

$

0

To me, this was perfectly normal, and at the time I didn't consider myself an especially young mother. I was married at 23 and we knew we wanted kids fairly soon. It felt right to start when we did. After all, my mother had been telling me for years that it was best for my body to have kids young (she works in healthcare) and I always assumed I would be a younger mom.

What I didn't take into account was my generation and the fact that many women my age were putting off having children to get careers off the ground or, to simply enjoy their 20s. While I was posting pictures of my new baby girl on Facebook, my high school friends were posting about trips to Europe, new job opportunities and fun nights out. I didn't regret my choice to have a baby as young as I did, but I also had literally no friends my age with kids.

I joined a few playgroups hoping to find common ground with fellow moms, and as far as finding other mothers with kids my daughter's age, I succeeded. Playgroup was wonderful for that purpose, and I won't ever regret joining.

However, there were precious few moms with babies my daughter's age who were anywhere near mine. The vast majority were eight to 10 years older than me. That didn't make much difference in our baby talks, but it made a difference in most other areas. Discussing college or high school, marriage (they were all several years married while I was two or three), our childhoods, 40th birthday parties... it became quickly apparent that I was in the minority as the 20-something mother of an infant.

The bond of having little ones the same age was enough that I felt accepted in the playgroups for the most part. It was when my kids entered school that I noticed a bigger chasm.

I volunteer in their classrooms free of make-up, in jeans and a ponytail, which I realize gives me even more of a juvenile vibe. In talking with other moms, the subject of our age will come up in various ways — be it discussing what year we graduated high school or an upcoming birthday. Without fail, I am almost always the youngest by several years. I get the "Oh, hush! You can't whine yet about feeling old!" line regularly. They're probably right, but when so many conversations center around that topic, it's weird to sit silently, unable to participate.

More: The hardest part of parenthood is discovering the truth behind these lies from your childhood

This brings me to the strangest and loneliest part of all. My high school and college friends are all just now having babies. I am 33. My Facebook page is littered with their pink, screaming newborns and round, pregnant bellies while I am over here coaching my daughter on the importance of wearing deodorant daily and how to deal with bullying.

When I spend time with these friends, I find it hard to connect. In the ever-changing world of what's popular for infants, I am very behind. No one uses Bumbos anymore, there are all kinds of squeezable fruit pouches that weren't available when my kids were babies and everyone has new theories on how to get an infant sleeping through the night. I already feel obsolete in my attempts to give them advice, and of course they have little interest in my life as the mother of elementary school kids, as it seems so far off from their perspective as brand-new mothers. It seems this is one area where we simply won't ever find common ground.

It's far from the biggest tragedy, but I can't help but feel as though this is something rarely discussed in the realm of parenthood. We are in a generational shift with moms deciding to have kids at an older age, and I went against the grain. And while I have been fortunate to find many women online to relate to with kids the same age as mine, I feel like I don't fit with the people I grew up with and those in my current circle. I don't feel like I fit in with any group of moms now.

I wouldn't change a thing about the age when I started having kids, but it doesn't mean I don't feel lonely.

Plastic surgeon says he can now give nose jobs without surgery

It's absolutely something you should do if you want, but more plastic surgeons are developing alternatives that don't require anesthesia.

More: This foolproof method will make any lipstick matte

One of these treatments is the non-surgical nose job innovated by Hollywood's favorite plastic surgeon, Dr. Simon Ourian. He's the one who gave Kylie Jenner those famous lips, so he knows his stuff. But non-celebrities with non-celebrity incomes can still get his treatments. One Londoner, Joanna Della-Ragione, recently went through the nose procedure and the results are quite dramatic.

non-surgical nose job

non-surgical nose job

"I wasn't unhappy with my nose as it was but I didn't like the deep curve in the bridge and seeing the pictures on Dr. Ourian's Instagram page made me realize it could be refined and improved without too much pain and downtime," Della-Ragione wrote in an essay for the Daily Mail. "However, if you can get results that are as good as, or better than surgery without the danger of anesthetic and the resulting pain, bruising and downtime, then this procedure is well worth it."

More: What skin care experts do when they get a breakout

Basically, it's all about evening out the nose's proportions with fillers like Voluma and Restylane.

"Much like a trip to the dentist, the procedure isn't painful but it's hardly pleasant either," she continued. "There are a lot of injections but Dr. Ourian works fast and the whole thing is over in about five or six minutes."

non-surgical nose job 2

"I prefer this strategy because it's far more direct," Dr. Ourian told her. "Surgery is very permanent. With this if the result is not as desired I can easily dissolve the filler, reversing the treatment." And though the before-and-after pictures show a big change, the real-life view is subtle enough that her friends didn't know the difference until she told them.

"And I have to say, I'm very happy. This is the true magic of Dr. Ourian: The effects are subtle enough that you wouldn't notice a difference unless you were told, but at the same time the procedure has given my face an overall more refined finish," she said.

"There is no downtime and I go for dinner with friends that evening. They remark that I look well but no one even remotely notices the difference until I show them the video taken on my phone. They gasp in surprise and collectively ask for Dr. Ourian's contact details."

This is the make-or-break week for your relationship. Either things will come together in the most spectacular way — like he'll be vaulting over cars stopped in traffic to tell you how much he loves you — or this is when you give him his walking papers and tell him it's over for good. Emotions are always heightened and unpredictable when Mars forms an opposition to Uranus and the fact that this is happening so close to Christmas will make it all the more dramatic. Nevertheless the time has come to stop beating around the bush and to cut to the chase.

Conventional wisdom says you should never take a rebound relationship seriously. It's generally understood that the go-to guy is meant to help you pull yourself up by the bootstraps so that you can get your self-confidence back on its feet again. It's why so many rebounders turn out to be old flames, friends with benefits or some random dude at the gym. But what if you discover that the relationship you're rebounding from wasn't really that big of a deal after all and that this one has more merit? It's something to think about when the moon occults Venus on Dec. 7.

You were born under the zodiac sign of the huntress. You never approach things directly. When you see something you like you will make a wide circle — even feign disinterest — as you gradually zero in on your quarry and then once in reach: You pounce! This covert operation applies to bargain basement deals as much as it does to potential boyfriends. The only problem is that the moon/Venus occultation on Dec. 7 shows that you may have set your sights on someone who's been targeted by someone else. This could lead to an intense tug-of-war over the next two weeks.

Padma Lakshmi's shocking revelation about Ann Coulter on The View

On Thursday, Dec. 3, Padma Lakshmi joined Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live along with fellow guest Adriana Lima. Cohen asked Lakshmi about that time in October when she joined the ladies on The View as a panelist.

Just like many days on The View, things got heated. Especially with Ann Coulter as the guest. She joined the ladies to discuss her views on immigration and her new book, Adios America!: The Left's Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third-World Hellhole.

Coulter said, "We're bringing in millions and millions of people from very poor cultures, from very backwards cultures. We don't need to be importing other countries' poor people."

More: Hot new Hollywood couple: Richard Gere and Padma Lakshmi

This statement would be bound to make anyone hot and bothered, either pro or con, but for Lakshmi, it made her want to sit on her hands because it was a very personal issue. She was born in India and emigrated to the U.S.

"Ann Coulter was there promoting her book on immigration and she was sitting next to me, and obviously I’m an immigrant, as you are [to Lima], and so is [The View's] Ana Navarro, and so it’s... She got into it with everybody," she shared.

More: Top Chef: Surprising elimination angers fans

While Lakshmi didn't say anything while sitting next to Coulter, she told Cohen what was going through her mind.

"I was thinking, 'Lord, please don’t let me slap a bitch on national TV.' It was my first time on The View and Ann Coulter is a very bright woman, she’s whip smart, she has a right to her own opinion. And I’m on The View, I respect her right to express her point of view. But, you know, I don’t agree with a lot of her views and I don’t agree with them for some very vehement reasons. Especially on immigration. I just thought, 'I have to be graceful because I have a limit. She may not have that limit.' I didn’t even need to talk. You can see it on my face."

I doubt it's the first time someone sitting next to Ann Coulter wanted to bitch-slap her. It would've made for great TV. But I guess that's why Lakshmi is on Top Chef and not The Real Housewives.

"Men should see how positive of an impact this type of honesty can have on both parties," Erin told Cosmo of why she put the message out there. And somewhere in Long Island is this guy, looking online for love. I'm not saying you should look for him on OKC, but I'm not saying not to, either.

Once Upon a Time: Will going to the Underworld really save [spoiler]'s life?

$

More: Once Upon a Time: Will Hook really get his revenge on Rumple? (VIDEO)

Finally, Emma and Hook's reign as the Dark Ones came to an end. Unfortunately, that also meant Hook dying at the hands of Emma. It was one of the most gut-wrenching scenes to have ever happened on Once Upon a Time. After Hook finally realized (thanks to that flashback with his father, Papa Hook) the man he wanted to be had to save Storybrooke from the Darkness, his true love Emma and her family, he sacrificed himself in order to do so. However, despite thinking they got rid of the Darkness once and for all, Rumple pulled quite the twist out of his hat.

Did anyone else see it coming that Rumple is once again the Dark One? Hero Rumple sure was short-lived. Apparently, Rumple saw Hook's plan as an opportunity to embrace the true man he is. Rumple channeled all the Darkness into himself, because that's who he is and what he does. Sorry, Belle, but it looks like the "selfless" man you thought Rumple turned into is no more. Seriously, when is Belle going to catch a break?

Hook and Emma
Image: Tumblr

As usual, Once Upon a Time's midseason finale left a lot questions unanswered. Here's hoping once it returns in March (yes, fans have to wait until March!), not only will Hook somehow be saved, but these questions will be answered — ASAP.

1. Is Hook really dead?

Technically, and unfortunately, yes. However, Emma, Charming, Snow, Regina, Robin, Henry and Rumple are all headed to the Underworld. Emma believes she can find Hook and save him, which leads me to my next question...

2. Will Emma be able to rescue Hook?

The Underworld is a realm Storybrooke has never traveled, so will it be as easy as Emma is making it sound to save Hook? Most definitely not, especially since many familiar faces are returning, including Peter Pan and Regina's mother and father. Emma's plan is to follow in her parents' footsteps by sharing her heart with Hook to bring him back to life.

3. Who's going to die to save Hook?

As stated above, Emma hopes to soon share a heart with Hook. However, there's a catch: In order to restore Hook's life, someone must die. So, who's going to bite the dust?

More: Once Upon a Time: Why Dark Hook’s plan spells major trouble for Storybrooke

4. Will Rumple once again redeem himself?

It seems time and time again Rumple finds a way to redeem himself, especially with Belle. However, seeing as he chose to become one with the Darkness, rather than staying the hero Emma made him, there might not be any coming back from this. Let's face it: Rumple as a villain is way more enjoyable than Rumple as a hero.

5. Will Belle forgive Rumple — again?

She's forgiven him so many times already, I don't think Belle will remain with Rumple once she finds out what he did to become the Dark One. He's no longer the "selfless" hero she wanted to be with at the end of the midseason finale.

6. Is Belle going to get pregnant?

Seeing as Emilie de Ravin is pregnant in real life, does this mean Belle will become pregnant? I mean, Rumbelle did rekindle their love by episode's end, so it could easily happen.

7. Who and where is Hook's brother?

As told via flashback, not only did Hook kill his own father (FYI, he really wasn't a good guy), but Papa Hook had another son, who he named Liam in honor of Hook's deceased brother. So, who and where is Hook's brother? I'm sure we'll meet him sooner rather than later.

8. What is Robin and Zelena's baby's name?

Seriously, pick a name already! With that said, I guess it's up to Regina and Robin now, especially since Regina sent Zelena back to Oz way of tornado. Unfortunately, the picking of names might have to wait until they get back to Storybrooke. Maybe they should just go with Zelena's choices: Pistachio, Kelly or Hunter (all names of paint colors).

Kristin Cavallari fears for her brother's safety

The Hills star Kristin Cavallari got awful news the day after Thanksgiving. Her older brother, Michael Cavallari, was reported missing after his car was found abandoned on a highway in Grand County, Utah.

His 2014 Honda Civic was found on Interstate 70, just five miles south of exit 175. The Grand County sheriff's office stated that they searched the area but couldn't find Michael.

The police investigated the area and used surveillance and credit card receipts from a convenience store in Monticello, Utah, to determine that Michael was the driver of the missing car. According to a press release from the Grand County sheriff's office, they are treating the disappearance as an active missing person's case.

This can't be an easy time for Cavallari, who just gave birth to her third child with husband Jay Cutler on Monday, Nov. 23. Daughter Saylor James joins older brothers Jax, 17 months, and Camden, 3.

No word from Kristin yet on her brother's disappearance. But she did miss her Laguna Beach high school reunion.

"Really sad about missing my 10 year high school reunion last night...so many people I wanted to see...but at least I have a good excuse," Kristin Instagrammed.

Hopefully, her brother is found safe and sound. I couldn't imagine taking care of three kids and worrying about a missing sibling. All during football season, too!

Teach kids it's OK to ask about disabilities and illness

Your paths cross in a swirl of awkward quick glances and tight smiles, and no one is better or worse for the encounter. Or are we?

Imagine that same experience for a child whose filter is undeveloped and whose internally emerging conventional wisdom screams, "Whoa! What is that? I gotta find out!"

Depending on your history of such interactions, that can feel refreshing or panic-inducing.

I've been on both sides. I have a kindergartner with Down syndrome, and when he was a newborn, a child asked why Charlie kept sticking his tongue out.

I was completely blindsided. I stammered and possibly broke out in a sweat. Then I replied with what made the most sense at the time. "He must be thinking about ice cream!"

Brilliant.

More: How to talk to your child's peers about Down syndrome

Children with Down syndrome often have low muscle tone, which affects oral motor skills. As Charlie has grown and strengthened, he can better control his tongue protrusion, but it still happens when he's concentrating hard or feeling tired or just having a moment. I could have given an abbreviated version of this that answered the child's question honestly.

What made the child's question jarring was not the question itself; I should have known it would come. My reaction was based solely on my own fears and lack of mental preparation. Imagine if my husband and I had talked about questions people might ask and prepared ourselves to respond appropriately.

My point is, it should be OK to ask. It should be OK for adults to ask, and it should be doubly, triply OK for children to ask.

Hold on, there. I feel you recoiling. Let's talk this through.

Education is power. Once we understand more about each other, we can move on to the joy of discovering who a person really is beneath an initially distracting surface. I believe if we tackle a difference head-on, we diminish its command of the room. It becomes less fascinating when we better understand it.

I think we all want our children to understand that differences we choose, or differences that occur genetically, don't define us. They just make initially interesting talking points that, eventually, become something that just doesn't really matter.

(Unless, of course, you're 8 years old and desperately jealous of your classmate's ability to careen through the halls in her super-fast wheelchair. Please see articles on "jealousy" and "fascination with speed.")

More: When strangers stare at children with special needs

Sure, I still have moments where I bristle at a new acquaintance's unsure inquiry. But I'm always working to reset myself, because I want my children to feel comfortable fielding questions — and also asking them.

Because the truth is, we all wonder about differences. Why not embrace them from the outset? Won't that help us move forward to the good part, where we learn about each other's hearts and experiences?

Now, let's be realistic. We can't suddenly race through the streets pointing and shrieking, "What is that on your face? Why are you so tall? How does that thing on your leg work?" If we're going to decide it's OK to ask, we need some ground rules.

Like kindness.

It's OK to ask with kindness. Kindness must be a requisite, and so the concept of kindness must become part of our dialogue as adults and parents. Language nuances can become verbal assurances that we don't intend to embarrass or hurt someone by asking a question. Beginning with, "May I ask a question about…?" Or, "I was wondering about… " can mean the difference between making someone feel confronted and helping someone feel safe.

More: People with disabilities encourage "people-first" language

Embracing the philosophy that "it's OK to ask" is why I am totally and completely in love with a new book from Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare, illustrated by Nancy Carlson.

It’s Okay to Ask! introduces five children who have disabilities or complex medical conditions. These children all share a love of reading, playing, telling jokes and making friends. The book teaches three main lessons: It’s OK to ask questions, everyone is more alike than you might think, and people of all abilities can be friends.

The best part? You can read the book online for free, and if you want to purchase softcover books, each is $11. All proceeds of the book benefit Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.

So, you want to teach your child that it's OK to ask about differences, but you're not sure how to broach that subject on its own? It's Okay to Ask! provides a beautiful intro, whether you read the book online with your child or purchase your own copy.

The book also includes a read-aloud discussion guide that breaks the conversation down into before, during and after stages of reading the book.

Talking to a child about something like disabilities or illness may feel daunting, but the truth is that our children's innocence and inquisitiveness are natural guides, and starting the conversation can be as simple as asking, "So, what do you think Joey likes to do for fun?" Talking about our similarities can lead to an honest Q&A about differences, which is a great opportunity to talk about how we all have differences.

Some parents think these conversations are best addressed when questions arise. Every parent knows his or her own child best, but consider whether you want to wait for questions to bubble and stew in your child's mind before he or she decides to ask. If you broach the subject first, you have a better chance of managing your child's understanding and perceptions. We all remember having perspectives shaped by schoolyard conversations with non-experts.

Here are some guidelines in talking with your child about disabilities and illness.

  • Keep it simple. Most children won't understand the science behind a cognitive or physical disability or a complex illness. Think about what the child needs to know to better understand another person's differences. For example, if a child uses a wheelchair, the most basic explanation can be best. "Joey's legs may not be as strong as yours, but his wheelchair helps him go even faster."
  • Pair an explanation of the difference with an explanation about a strength or similarity to help your child see past the difference. For example, "Kara uses those super-strong glasses to see better, and she loves to read, just like you."
  • Discussing illness can be delicate, because you want to provide information without fear. For example, for a child going through chemotherapy: "David takes medicine to make him feel better, and sometimes the medicine may make his hair fall out. I was thinking we could find a really fun hat to cheer him up and keep his head warm. What do you think?"
  • Address concerns honestly. Seeing a child unable to walk due to an injury may prompt a child to worry that the same thing will happen to him or her. While we can't reassure a child that something like that will never happen, we can talk about how smart doctors are there to take care of us, and whatever happens, we will tackle it together as a family.
  • Use books like It's Okay to Ask! as conversation starters.

Perhaps the most important tips for parents preparing to talk with a child about differences may seem counterintuitive.

  • Listen.
  • Sit in silence.
  • Invite questions, and patiently wait for them to flow.
  • Embrace the child's inquisitiveness.
  • Rather than reacting to a child's blunt remarks, ask the child to consider how he or she might like to be approached about a difference.
  • Talk about what is important to a friendship. While we all have differences, what similarities help friendship blossom?
Plan to revisit the topics periodically with your child to reassess the child's "kindness gauge." Being open to talking about sensitive topics when a child is young establishes a foundation of trust that can benefit a lifetime.

Why is Blood & Oil reducing Billy and Cody's story to a cheap ratings grab?

$

I am having an existential crisis of the first-season-show variety. Did I just blow nine hours of my life on a show that was not worthy of such an investment? Should ABC just cut their losses now and let the fledgling show go? Or can it be saved?

More: 8 Reasons ABC's Blood & Oil shouldn't be canceled

If the latter is going to happen, they're going to have to do some major damage control where Billy and Cody are concerned.

In full disclosure, I don't mind the show's melodramatic slant — if a western and a soap opera got hitched and had a little modern baby, it would be Blood & Oil... and I'm down with that. I welcome this last dose of escapism on Sunday evenings before the weekly grind begins again.

What I do mind is that the show has now tipped the scales entirely in the direction of melodrama, particularly when it comes to the relationships.

Was I surprised when it came out that Jules was having an affair with Hap behind her boyfriend/his son Wick's back? Not really, because Hap and Wick were both set up as slightly seedy characters from the show's start.

More: Blood & Oil: Why Wick's girlfriend totally got what she deserved

It's the way the show has recently zeroed in on any relationship of apparent substance in the name of cheap ratings grabs that has my guard up.

First, it was Billy and Cody's Nigerian friends, Ada and Kess. They were such a loving, beautiful couple — the first people to help Billy and Cody adapt to this slick new oil town. So not only did it irk me when they had Ada share a kiss with the couple's food truck partner, Finn, but I also found it unbelievable.

Still, I gave B&O the benefit of the doubt when they divulged more information about the couple's story. Kess had gambling problems in Nigeria too, and it was the reason Ada had agreed to move here. These things can put a strain on a marriage.

However, and this is a big however, there are couples who don't buckle under pressure. There are couples who take their vows very seriously. I'm not naive. I obviously know people do stray and make mistakes. But I also know some people don't, and those kinds of couples are no longer represented.

Because tonight, we saw Billy and Cody crumble when Billy kissed his new geologist partner, Emma. Some may argue that she kissed him, and she did. C'mon, though. He definitely kissed her back.

Blood & Oil Chace Crawford
Image: ABC

It's the first season, and our ride-or-die husband and wife heroes are already bailing?

Sigh. I feel like this was what B&O thought would get a ratings spike for a faltering show — a show they were certain would be their fall lineup's biggest hit. And while it has all the necessary ingredients, it simply hasn't panned out as predicted.

I've watched the show all season, and I've even defended against those who've said it has crossed the threshold from dramatic to campy. Tonight's development, however, made me question how ABC could possibly sustain the show.

For me, one of the biggest draws of the series (outside of Don Johnson) was the relationship between Billy and Cody. Perhaps because of Chace Crawford and Rebecca Rittenhouse's undeniable chemistry. Or perhaps because I thought they reminded me of me and my husband on some level.

More: Blood & Oil: Why Don Johnson rules the show

I think much of the magic in the show stemmed from their willingness to do anything for each other and to stick it out even when things got tough. That was kind of their song and dance from the very first episode. It's frustrating that it was already such an uphill battle rooting for them since they'd been plagued by problems from the onset, and for all of our optimism they just ended up another pedantic trope of young love gone awry.

People are cynical, yes, but we want more of a happy ending than seeing our heroes' seemingly unbreakable bond fracture before the close of the first season.

Were you as annoyed by Billy and Emma's kiss as I was?

5 Things Kim Kardashian West should be more thankful for

$

1. Khloé Kardashian has picked up most of the professional slack

It's great that Kardashian West is loving life as a mother, but she needs to make a greater effort to help her poor sister out. This issue was addressed during a previous episode of KUWTK, when Khloé Kardashian spoke of the time she spent at meet and greets. Kardashian West should thank her younger sister for taking over, and more importantly, she should demonstrate her thankfulness by making more of an effort to get involved.

2. She was fortunate enough to welcome two children into her growing family

Fans have tired of Kardashian West's constant complaints about her pregnancy. Sure, being pregnant can be tough, but at least she is lucky enough to have kids with a man she loves. She frequently whines in front of Khloé, who would love to be in a stable relationship and welcome a child into the world.

3. She has a curvy body shape that attracts plenty of attention

Kardashian West tends to complain a lot about her body, with the vast majority of these complaints occurring while pregnant or within a few weeks of giving birth. It's not exactly unusual for new moms to feel uncomfortable with the way they look, but Kardashian West takes this to a whole new level. The next time she complains about her body, she should remember that a whole lot of people find her attractive.

More: Keeping up with the Kardashians fans have no sympathy for Scott Disick

4. Her Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game has been a smashing success

Although Kardashian West loves to give herself credit for the success of her mobile app, she's really didn't play that big of a role in the creation and distribution of the app. The other talented individuals who made the game possible should receive greater recognition.

5. Kris Jenner has graciously offered up her home

Kardashian West's lack of gratitude was especially evident during tonight's episode of KUWTK, when she bossed Jenner around her own home. Kardashian West really doesn't need to be living with her mom at all, but if she does feel the need to return to the nest, she should at least let Jenner run the household as she sees fit.

Based on their feedback on Twitter, fans of Keeping Up with the Kardashians were not happy about Kardashian West's inability to count her blessings. Several of these Twitter users wondered why Kardashian West would be so obnoxious to the person putting a roof over her head.

Kristin Cavallari posts sad message about her missing brother (PHOTO)

Michael Cavallari went missing the day after Thanksgiving, after his car was found driven off a highway and abandoned in Utah.

Authorities in Grand County, Utah, began searching for Michael after police received a report of a car off the road about five miles south of Interstate 70 and exit 175 at 8 a.m. on Nov. 27. After finding his name on the registration, they were able to trace credit card receipts to a convenience store east of where the car was abandoned. Police pulled tapes and Michael was seen on surveillance footage entering and leaving the store at approximately 3:30 a.m. local time.

Police believe the car, a 2014 Honda Civic that was found running with the airbag deployed and his cell phone and laptop still inside, may have hit a large rock and veered off the road, but after that, the trail grows cold.

Kristin and her husband Jay Cutler have not mentioned a word about the case until today, when she broke her silence on social media — including a photo of the two when they were just tots.

Michael went missing just four days after Kristin gave birth to her third child, Saylor.

"If they've had any contact with him or they've seen him, people should call my office," Sheriff Steven White told the Deseret News, adding that his office was "deeming it suspicious, but there's nothing to indicate anything one way or another. The vehicle was just abandoned."

5 Times Kris Jenner proved she was queen of trap queens

$

As seen in the video above, Jenner wears a halter-style black swimsuit and bulky Boucheron jewelry while swimming around in a luxurious pool for the calendar. She appears confident and not the least bit shy as she takes a dip in the pool, while Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" plays in the background. But the tune is more fitting for her than you think. Here are five ways Jenner has lived up to the trap queen label.

1. When she stands up for her family

krisjennerinsta

krisjennerinsta

Jenner has proven that family is her No. 1 priority countless times. Between her constant support for Khloé Kardashian and Lamar Odom and her endless concern for her son Rob, she's made it very clear that she always has her loved ones' backs. Most recently, she expressed her support for Scott Disick, taking to Instagram to write a caring message for the father of her grandkids.

jennerbdayvideo

That compassion clearly doesn't go unappreciated. Her daughters helped make the above video message for her recent 60th birthday.

2. When she's there for her friends

krisjennerinsta2

krisjennerinsta2

Jenner is devoted and loyal to her tight-knit group of friends. Case in point? In August, Jenner wrote a lovely and supportive note for celebrity pal Kathie Lee Gifford's 62nd birthday, and what would have been her late husband's Frank Gifford's 85th birthday. "Happy Birthday to my beautiful friend Kathie Lee...." she wrote via Instagram, alongside a snap of the longtime friends grinning and embracing each other outdoors. "I wish you peace and understanding. I know it's Franks [sic] birthday today too. I wish I was there with you today. Big hug my angel."

3. When she makes time for her fans — even celebrity ones

jennerkatyperry

jennerkatyperry

jennerjlaw

jennerjlaw

Jenner often takes time to talk to and thank her fans via social media. And she's racked up a number of celebrity admirers too. Both Katy Perry and Jennifer Lawrence are self-proclaimed Jenner fans, as evidenced by these Instagram snapshots

4. When she shuts down haters

Like any true trap queen, Jenner has as many haters as she does fans, but she doesn't let them get to her. After she and the rest of her family shared their feelings about Caitlyn Jenner's transition in the two-part special Keeping Up with the Kardashians: About Bruce, she received some flak from the public accusing her of saving her commentary for her own show. “Everyone loves to jump to conclusions you know? Haters are gonna hate!” she said at the time.

5. When she doesn't care what people think

kyliekris

kyliekris

If there's one thing we've learned from watching her on TV all these years, it's that Jenner really doesn't let public opinion sway her from doing what she wants — whether that means having a younger boyfriend, throwing a million-dollar birthday party or twerking in front of daughter Kylie. While that attitude may make for some pretty cringe-worthy moments sometimes, it's also part of why so many people love her. Hey, you have to have some serious confidence to pull this look off:

'Skinny' and 'plus size' are not the only body types

Yay for looking good and feeling great this summer! We have a huge range of swimwear styles for all body shapes. http://bit.ly/1StrNmb Posted by Target Australia on Wednesday, December 2, 2015
Notice anything unusual about this new bikini ad from Target? In an ideal world we'd all say, "Nope. Beautiful babes and cute suits!" and move on. But this ad is eye-catchingly different: It features an older woman, a plus-size woman, and a woman with boobs. Lots of non-modelesque ladies enjoy a swim and it's nice to finally see them represented in a swimwear ad. It shouldn't be revolutionary, but it is, and it's all part of a new movement in the fashion industry to feature body diversity in general and "curve" models in particular.
curve models 1a

curve models 1a

A curve model is a model who, regardless of clothing size, has curves: Bountiful boobs, a big butt, thick thighs, soft shoulders and/or a myriad of other body parts that don't fit into the stereotypical "model" look. And make no mistake, this isn't just another word for "plus size," as curvy has often been used in the past. Rather, it shows that women from a size zero to a size 36 can all be proportioned differently. Just because a lady is slim doesn't mean she has no hips, and just because a woman is bigger doesn't mean she can't have muscular arms.

Jordyn Woods 1a

Jordyn Woods 1a

"Curve modeling allows a variety of body types to work in an industry that you [would otherwise] need strict measurements for," said 18-year-old curve model Barbie Ferreira, who is often called the "queen of in-between" for her not-model-thin-but-also-not-plus-size measurements. But no matter what label you put on her, there's no doubt she's killing it in the fashion game with dozens of campaigns and hundreds of thousands of followers on social media.
Barbie Ferreira 1a

Barbie Ferreira 1a

It's that last part that makes her proud, as she loves showing that women who don't fit neatly into a certain category can be beautiful — not in spite of their differences but because of them.

As a woman who has a ridiculously hard time finding a pair of pants that fit my smaller waist but still flatter the killer quads and butt I work so hard for in the gym, this is a movement I can appreciate. I spend most of my life in leggings and skirts, both of which I love, but I wish that I had more options. And I would definitely love to see more women that look like me on websites and in ads, at the very least to help me see what the clothing might look like on a figure like mine.

More: Woman told she was 'undateable' shows off large birth mark she hid for years

Curve modeling isn't a trend I expect to see on the catwalk any time soon but it is one I hope to see on the streets — especially my street! — all the time. And while we're at it, let's see more women of color, older women, women with disabilities and other ladies that show the wonderful and beautiful diversity of womanhood.

Farrah Abraham shares sickening details of alleged rape by James Deen

According to Abraham, Deen drugged her in a ploy to manipulate her into making the sex tape that became Backdoor Teen Mom, and her therapists and legal teams have made her realize that equals rape.

When asked by the Daily Mail directly if Deen raped her, she responded, "From my intensive therapy, yes. Under my doctor and everything that I've been through, that is what has gone on."

She went on to describe how the couple had a casual dating relationship, and that Abraham's capacity for making good decisions was clouded by Deen's lies and manipulations.

"Deen said at that time he didn't drink or do drugs. But clearly I was drugged, and my legal staff and my therapist know that," she said.

"I don't know if he just drugged women to take advantage of them or what was going on. I experienced extreme anger problems and abusive behavior from Deen. He treated me like he wanted to break me and ruin my career as a reality star-celebrity, as many witnessed. I no longer wanted to be around him."

The tape, which Abraham has always maintained was meant to be a personal performance for their eyes only, wound up being leaked before she sold it to Vivid Entertainment to take control of the situation — and she said Deen is the one to blame.

"I was lied to by him and he doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself," she said.

"It was a set-up against me by James Deen… I got dropped from MTV's Teen Mom back when all this happened, a show I created and starred in. He conspired what he did with me, this is the truth. The rape victims coming forward are telling the truth as well. They would have no reason to be lying or defamatory in what they're saying.

"I'm thankful that I have separated myself and gotten beyond how horrible, evil, abusive and a rapist James Deen is.

"I feel every time someone calls me a porn star, it's like them, to me, seeming like a rapist and a derogatory, abusive womanizing manipulator like James Deen," she continued. "I'm saying that because that's how it made me feel — because I also have amazing friends who are porn stars and I'm proud of them.

"I've had so much intensive therapy since, some seen on VH1's Couples Therapy. I've learned and I need to admit [what happened] — this was conspired, this was a form of rape.

I was drugged and manipulated. He's a disgusting person."

Thankfully, Abraham says she is on the road to an emotional recovery.

"I'm very thankful, I've been recovering and very accepting of my therapy," she said. "That's something very big for me because normally, I don't admit those things."

Charlie Sheen hits back at ex's lawsuit with a shocking claim

In court docs filed last week, Rossi claimed Sheen physically and verbally abused her, hid his HIV status until long after they began a sexual relationship and forced her to get an abortion — but Sheen's camp says it is all a lie.

In fact, a friend of Sheen's says the star does not believe she was ever pregnant in the first place, let alone terminated a pregnancy.

"Charlie believes the entire baby claim was a total lie," an insider told Radar Online.

"Did she ever even have an abortion? She left Charlie's house one morning — came back a few hours later — and announced to Charlie that she'd had an abortion. There was no paperwork, no receipt, or no discussion beforehand. It's suspicious.

"Charlie's legal team intend on pursuing this aggressively in defense of the lawsuit in an effort to prove Scottine fabricated the entire situation," the source added.

Rossi claims in the suit that when he was drinking, Sheen "became violent and abusive and uncontrollable," saying that he once dragged her "out of the room by her arms… violently shaking her while screaming obscenities at her" and "screamed at her, pushed her, cornered her, broke items in and around their home, threw items from their bedroom out the balcony window and into the pool, and shook her…"

However, Sheen's pal said it was actually the other way around.

"Charlie was forced to restrain her on one occasion and he prevented her from hurting him or herself," the source said.

"These allegations have only surfaced since Charlie started dating other women after their breakup. She is jealous. Friends have told Charlie that Scottine is his Fatal Attraction."

Sheen, who already blasted the lawsuit through his lawyer Marty Singer, reportedly plans to file a formal legal response in court this week.
