Her ring is one-of-a-kind: It's made from one of Unger's wisdom teeth.

The pair met at a music festival in Canada and have the same fun-loving view on life, so it only made sense to them to have something different to signify their love.

"When we’d spoken about it, I’d said that diamonds are so overrated," Leifkes told BuzzFeed. "My birthstone is a diamond. I don’t need one to prove how much someone loves me. He’d already moved all the way from Canada to do that!"

Unger's family kept his teeth from when he was younger and his dad sent one for the ring. They then took it to a jeweler to get it set in a band. He officially proposed on Halloween and they're getting married later this month in Las Vegas with Elvis as the celebrant, of course.

And as for why having this ring was important to her?

DWTS' Nick Carter's baby news gave fans something to cheer about

Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson kicked off Dancing with the Stars' Icon Night with a solid salsa dedicated to singer Marc Anthony, but the next few dances featured some mistakes, and the judges offered up technical notes and small criticisms. Given the expectations this many weeks into the competition, it was a little anti-climactic and fans were beginning to feel let down.

Baby news

Nick Carter chose his wife, Lauren, as his inspiration. He explained that he considers her to be his savior and talked about how they had been trying for a year to conceive a child and his devastation when they suffered a miscarriage. Carter then announced that his wife was 16 weeks pregnant. He danced a flawless contemporary routine in her honor that left him (and Carrie Ann Inaba) in tears and that Bruno Tonioli called "poetry."

After the Dancing with the Stars judges awarded Carter and partner Sharna Burgess a perfect score, Erin Andrews announced that there would be a live gender reveal. Carter and his wife found out along with everyone watching that they would be having a boy! Fans were over the moon about the new little "Backstreet" boy, as were Carter's former bandmates.

Dance-off

The DWTS couples without immunity had a chance to earn extra points by competing in a dance-off. They only found out what style of dance they were performing right before they went on. The audience helped to choose the winner by voting live.

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough challenged Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson for jive. Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson got the extra two points.

Tamar and Val challenged Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas for cha-cha. Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas got the extra two points.

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold challenged Andy Grammer and Allison Holker for samba. Andy Grammer and Allison Holker got the extra two points.

Elimination

Andy Grammer and Allison Holker, who were at the bottom of the Dancing with the Stars leaderboard tonight, ended up in jeopardy along with Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson. Andy Grammer found out he was going home.

The Voice: Blake Shelton outrages fans with his bias during the Knockouts

Roberts and Nicole are both talented singers, but there was something really special about Nicole's rendition of "A Woman's Worth." She took a huge risk with this song — a risk that should have paid off. Roberts, on the other hand, remained in her comfort zone, as Pharrell was only too happy to point out. Her cover of "Cowboy Take Me Away" was nice, but unremarkable.

Like Pharrell, Levine was quick to compliment Nicole. Although he conceded that Roberts seemed to have her place on The Voice and in the music industry at large all figured out, he told Nicole, "You have other things about you that I haven't heard yet... and I want to hear more."

Fans of the show agreed with Levine's take on the Knockouts, although they were a bit more adamant about their desire to see Nicole move on in the competition. Several annoyed Twitter users complained about Roberts' victory, with a few even claiming that her win was merely a result of Shelton's preference for country music.

Shelton may have a history of sticking with country musicians, but he also has a history of winning. Over the years, he's crafted a strategy that works. His approach to putting together a dream team of (mostly) country musicians has helped him win The Voice multiple times.

Ultimately, Shelton's decision came down to which artist he believed had a better future in the music industry. While commenting on tonight's performances, he highlighted the niche Roberts carved out in the country music genre, as well as her mainstream appeal. In his opinion, Roberts is going to be around a long, long time.

Shelton's intuition has served him well during past seasons of The Voice, and there's a good chance the same will happen again. Still, it's sad to see an amazing artist sent packing after delivering an exceptional performance. Hopefully, Shelton's predictions for Roberts' longevity in the music biz will also come true for Nicole, regardless of her unfortunate dismissal from The Voice.

Do you think Blake Shelton's decision was influenced by his bias for country music? Or did Roberts win based on her performance and marketability alone? Comment and share your opinion below.

The tattoo trend that will hurt your eyes, literally

That's right, people are permanently tattooing their scleras from the natural white to red, blue, green… and everything in between.

More: Are people with tattoos aggressive? Science says yes, but don't be so sure

The trend started when a tattoo artist's friend expressed interest in looking like a character from a movie. "There used to be a private body modification convention that happened every few years in Canada," Luna Cobra told the BBC. "That year, an old friend had Photoshopped a picture of his eyes to look blue like in Dune. I told him, 'I think I can do that for real.'"

He then enlisted the help of three friends willing to lend their eyeballs. The process involved poking the color into the conjunctiva under the eye's thin top layer.

"I'm aware of how insane that sounds, but I've been doing this type of thing for my whole life so I wasn't coming from nowhere with this," he said.

It takes several injections to cover all of the white — and yes, it's permanent.

"If you want to amuse yourself by decorating your eyeball, why not do it?" Luna told the BBC. "I do a lot of things that look like tie-dye or 'cosmic space'. I think it brings a realm of fantasy into everyday life."

Kylie Garth, one of the few women with the tattoos, said that it was "mentally intense" to go through the inking process. "It feels like somebody is poking at your eye, then it feels like strange pressure and then it feels like you have a bit of sand in your eye, but there's no pain," she said.

More: Ladies of London fans shocked by Annabelle's behavior

juliet and annabelle

1. The non-Thanksgiving

Season 2 began with an unpleasant standoff between Marissa and Juliet about who would be hosting Thanksgiving, where and why. Juliet cajoled Caroline Stanbury into hosting Thanksgiving/Juliet's birthday dinner at her house, which led to Marissa excluding Juliet from a family sing-along at Royal Albert Hall. There was various mudslinging and ousting, until the two finally committed to sitting down together for an ill-fated tea. The moment of truth came when Juliet asked Marissa if she thought their friendship had petered out. She thought it was good that they cleared the air, regardless of "whether it's BFF or F" now, to which Marissa replied, "F." Ugh. Tell us how you really feel, Marissa.

2. When Caroline Stanbury implied that Julie was a terrible yoga instructor

Well, sort of. At Juliet's New Year's Eve party, Caroline Fleming and Julie were doing headstands (as you do when you're a baroness and a viscountess at a social gathering), and it was Fleming who stayed up longer. When Caroline Stanbury said she was surprised, since Julie's the yoga instructor, Julie burst into tears and spent some quality time wailing to Annabelle about how sensitive she is and how important yoga is to her. Later, Caroline Stanbury apologized, but then she took it back.

3. "Hump-gate"

What happens when you combine alcohol, allegedly well-mannered ladies, animal onesies and more alcohol? Caroline Stanbury (clad in a unicorn onesie) standing above Juliet's husband, making, um, thrusting motions. Juliet freaked out, prompting fans to take sides. Was Caroline's behavior totally uncalled for? Did Juliet just need to calm down? Was the whole thing hilarious? (Yes.)

4. The "cougar" Incident

When Marissa learned that Caroline Fleming's boyfriend is considerably younger than she is, she proceeded down an ugly path, which culminated in her taking advantage of the fact that Caroline wore a bowling shirt with "Cougar" on the back of it. Among Marissa's classy comments were "Lock up your children!" and making reference to little boys. Ew.

5. The apology — round 1

The ladies headed to the country for a pheasant-shooting adventure, while the tension between Marissa and Caroline Fleming was still fresh. At a fancy dinner, everyone urged Marissa to fix the situation, and she and Caroline sat down for an awkward, unpleasant, stilted apology, which involved some hand-holding and Caroline telling Marissa that it wasn't even about the cougar comment (and the other gross things she said), but it was the fact that Marissa had said mean things about her boyfriend to her sister. The two agreed to put it behind them, but you could tell that the whole thing wasn't over.

6. The apology — round 2

Marissa and Caroline Fleming met in a cafe to chat — and things went south quickly. Marissa was clearly caught off-guard, thinking everything was over and done with, but Caroline was cold and abrupt and made it clear that she wasn't ready to let it go.

7. When in Denmark, Annabelle is a jerk

Caroline Fleming decided to take the ladies to Denmark for what she hoped would be a relaxing weekend, but viewers knew better because we watch television. When Julie wasn't interested in going to the furrier with the rest of the group and opted to go to a coffee shop instead, Annabelle assailed her for being rude. It was startling for fans to see her lash out at Julie, because they'd been so tight for the entire season so far and Annabelle had spent time encouraging Julie to stand up for herself.

8. The worst dinner

Caroline Fleming wanted to clear the air at the start of the Denmark trip, so she asked the ladies to say what was on their minds about each other before the beginning of a lovely dinner. Annabelle took her up on it and proceeded to take each woman to task in regard to the things about them that are... challenging. It was incredibly tense and weird, out of character for Annabelle and an open door for Caroline Stanbury to say what she'd been thinking about Annabelle for a long time.

More: Jessa Duggar makes fruity attempt to induce labor

And while we can imagine Duggar is, like any expectant mom-to-be, excited to meet her new little addition, there’s another reason the reality star may be getting antsy to get that baby out of there.

Apparently, big babies are not anything new for Duggar’s family or her husband’s, and every day that baby is in there is another day to keep on growing.

Duggar and her husband, Ben Seewald, celebrated their anniversary on Sunday, which was also the official due date for their first baby. Now, as Baby Seewald still hasn’t made his or her entrance, the couple has started taking bets on just how big the little one might turn out to be. According to a screen capture of a text message conversation with her mother-in-law that Duggar shared, bigger bets might be better in this case.

"We've been taking a poll with the Duggar and Seewald families over the past few weeks, and everyone is trying to guess how much they think #BabySeewald might weigh at birth," Duggar captioned the shot of the conversation, which reveals Duggar tipped the scales at just under 10 pounds when she was born and Seewald weighed in at a similarly respectable 8 pounds and 15 ounces.

At 9 pounds 15 ounces, just one ounce short of 10 pounds, Duggar was the biggest baby born in her family of 19. But if the genetics are any indication, Baby Seewald just might break that record. Just thinking about it makes our lady parts hurt.

"Haha! I'd say it's very possible we could have a chubby little baby," Duggar added in her post.

Duggar’s baby bump is already an impressive size — “as big as a barn,” as the star put it herself when she shared a selfie at 39 weeks.

A world first as transgender man joins Movember

For father-of-two, Jeremy Wiggins, these stereotypical ideas don't resonate with him, saying they actually stop men from being who they really are — complex, diverse, emotive people with a variety of behaviours and personalities.

Jeremy is one of the latest spokespeople for The Movember Foundation which focuses on both men's health issues and breaking down stereotypes about traditional forms of masculinity.

More: Meet a courageous transgender 5-year-old

"For some reason, when I hear: What is it to be a man or what is a man? I feel like there's a very strict, narrow stereotype of what that is. It's a hyper-masculinised version of what a man is," he said in the short movie released by The Movember Foundation.

Jeremy is then seen having his lumberjack-esque beard shaven off, something that he finds particularly difficult. It's the first time he's been clean shaven since his transition from female to male.

Transgender Movember

Video: The Movember Foundation

"Just given my history and relationship with gender identity — my beard is a strong part of that. I like the way it makes me look," Jeremy told the Huffington Post Australia.

At 21-years-old, Jeremy decided to think seriously about transitioning from a woman to man, packing up his life in Victoria and travelling to cities like New York, San Francisco and Berlin to meet with others who had gone through it.

More: My child came out as transgender, now what?

What he discovered was that there were many people living happy and fulfilling lives post-transition. This, he says, gave him the confidence and the strength to go through with it himself.

Issues of mental health have been raised in the LGBTI community, with studies claiming that gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and intersex people are three times more likely to experience depression.

They also experience physical and verbal abuse because of their gender diversity, which can lead to distress, drug use and even suicide, with the National LGBTI Health Alliance saying that mental health within the community is among the poorest in the country.

Now 34, and with the support of his wife and kids, Jeremy is focused on redefining what it means to be a man to open up people's minds about gender diversity. Being a man isn't about masculinity or toughness, it's about being human.

"If the questions was reframed, and I was asked: What does it mean to be human? Then you would actually get a more real, passionate, emotional response," Jeremy says.

"I can start to appreciate masculinity or who I am and it not be wrapped up in something that's physical. It's just who I am."

Feminist theory introduced in high school classrooms

The 'Fighback' initiative was an idea borne from the Fitzroy High School's Feminism Collective, a group founded two years ago, which gets together to talk about things like the objectification of women on Facebook, being called bossy instead of assertive and eating disorders.

After creating a successful crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, teacher Briony O'Keeffe is hoping to roll-out free information packs so other schools can add feminist classes to their curriculum, too.

More: Being a feminist is not making other women feel bad for their choices

Briony says the intention of the course is to encourage young men and women to think more critically about sexism and how that might affect how they interact with their classmates or those who engage with sexist behaviour at school.

A USB, full of course content and information, will be sent out to other schools that want to take part, which includes lesson plans, digital resources, worksheets, class activities and video clips.

The main areas the course focuses on are sexist language, particularly around the use of the word slut, and also the objectification of women and their bodies.

A poster was even created to share the effects objectification has on women and young girls, which the group hopes to put up around the grounds and throughout other schools that want to get involved.

"If we are to have a real impact, we need to teach people about the issues our posters address, and about sexism and misogyny more generally," Briony's Kickstarter campaign reads.

"At the moment, that doesn't really happen in secondary schools. Young women — and the young men who support them — have to put up with sexism and misogyny, online and in real life, all of the time."

According to a sexism survey carried out by Plan International Australia, more than 75% of young women and girls had received a sexist comment at some point, with 50% saying that sexism has affected their career path. And that behaviour begins, and should end, at schools.

At the moment three boys and around 10 girls have joined the Fightback class, which will be launched at the school on the 26th of November.

What are your thoughts on Fightback? Would you like to see it at your child's school? Share with us below.

Good news: You don't have to rake your leaves this fall

$

Raking and hauling away fallen leaves is a seasonal tradition in many households — a task parents eagerly delegate to the kids once they're old enough, but a task that must be done regardless. Actually though, the National Wildlife Federation says it's not a bad idea to keep fallen leaves where they lay.

More15 Ways to reduce your heating bill this winter

Why? Because science. Shedding leaves is part of a tree's natural life cycle. There are benefits to leaving those discarded leaves on the ground, covering your tree's roots, in your garden or along your fence line. Here are a few reasons you might want to skip raking the lawn this fall:

Critters. Some wildlife, like salamanders, chipmunks, worms, turtles, toads and shrews, use that natural leaf layer as a winter home and shelter or to find food during the cold months.

MoreTips for budget-conscious families to manage their money

Even more critters. Many species of moths and butterflies lay eggs on leaves. Those offspring become pupae and spend the winter on the fallen leaves, where they prepare to emerge in the spring. Getting rid of the leaves will likewise get rid of next year's crop of butterflies and moths, many of which are important food sources for the birds you love to watch in your yard.

Natural mulch. Another cool thing about a natural leaf layer is that it eventually breaks down, or decomposes, creating a layer of natural mulch that will help suppress weeds as well as fertilize the soil. The best place to let this happen is up for debate, though.

There is a concern that leaving a seemingly impermeable layer of leaves on your entire lawn can damage or destroy your turf by reducing light and air and encouraging growth of lawn-destroying fungi. According to Mississippi State University, you might want to mulch fallen leaves yourself so they can settle down to the soil naturally. However, this doesn't mean you have to scrape up every last errant leaf you find — there are other parts of your yard that won't be harmed by fallen leaves, which can lead to a more robust ecosystem on your property.

The good news is that if you can cross a comprehensive yard rake off your to-do list, you'll be able to spend that much more time doing the fall activities you love, and these are all even more amazing reasons to keep leaves in your yard.

More11 Hardy plants that make fall gardening a breeze

Kids love to play in them. Even if you have raked up leaves to deposit elsewhere in the past, you know that kids adore playing in the leaves, so you almost always leave some for them to pile up for a traditional fall leaf-jumping activity. If there are even more leaves on your ground, playtime will be endless.

More time spent with family. Relegating this chore to nature means you'll have a few extra Saturdays to do amazing things with your family. Visit an orchard, take a drive to revel at fall scenery, visit grandparents or do some cozy fall camping.

Enjoy your own scenery. You can spend some extra time just lounging in your yard without the specter of yard work hanging over your head.

So put down that rake, and enjoy your family this fall season.

"My feet are really gross," she told Us Weekly. "I felt so bad that they showed them! But they are actually superglued right now because I lost another [toenail] in dress rehearsal! I just have holes in my feet and my nails keep popping off, but if I superglue them they don't hurt as much.

On Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live Monday night, Jax Taylor and Tom Schwartz, bad-boy stars of Bravo's Vanderpump Rules, confirmed one thing we kind of already knew: Jax Taylor gets around.

A lot.

During a segment that Cohen dubbed "Vander-Dump," where Schwartz spilled his guts about Taylor's hookups, we got way more than we could have bargained for when he answered all of Cohen’s rapid-fire questions pretty candidly.

Not only do we find out Taylor has hooked up with (at least) four girls in one night — barf — but we learned of one major celebrity hookup. We even found out he has had several celebrity trysts, although we only get one name.

More: Vanderpump Rules: 7 reason why James and Kristen's relationship is a disaster

Cohen asked Schwartz, “Has Jax ever hooked up with a celebrity?” And Schwartz responds, "Yeah… multiple." When Cohen prods him for a name, Schwartz sheepishly whispers, "Lindsay Lohan," under his breath.

Taylor elaborated that it was only one time and awkwardly claims Lohan is “affectionate” in a failed attempt at playing coy.

But what Taylor seemed most red-faced over — read: proud — was his fling with a porn star. Taylor makes a halfhearted effort to keep Schwartz from dishing the dirt on this name before Schwartz blurts out, "Bridgette B."

But the very best part of this whole video is when the couples read out their first messages to one another and they are hilariously cringeworthy.

Matt and Allyson's relationship has withstood the test of time, but Patrick's message includes mention of Russell Crowe in Cinderella Man, and Allyson's are close to the typical clichés, like "going for early morning bike rides" and "going to the beach." All she needed to add were "long walks" and "romantic sunsets." Jokes, she's totally awesome — we wish we were that smooth.

Susan Williams told Good Morning America in an exclusive interview that while her famous husband had battled addiction and depression in the past, the paranoia and anxiety he experienced leading up to his suicide were caused by Lewy body dementia, which could not be fully diagnosed until autopsy.

"Lewy body dementia killed Robin," she said. "It's what took his life."

While the family released the information that the disease was discovered after Robin's death, the full extent of its effect on him was unknown until now.

"People in passing… would say to me, 'God, I wish I had done something more for him. If only I had called him," Susan explained. "And I'm thinking, 'No one could have done anything more for Robin.' I just want everyone to know that. Everyone did the very best they could. This disease is like a sea monster with 50 tentacles of symptoms that show when they want. It's chemical warfare in the brain. And we can't find it until someone dies definitively. There is no cure.

"I've thought about this. Of what was going on in his mind, what made him ultimately commit — you know, to do that act. And I think he was just saying, 'No.' And I don't blame him one bit. I don't blame him one bit."

While Robin had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease the previous spring, his descent into depression, paranoia and anxiety was caused by this even more sinister disease.

"It was not depression that killed Robin," she told People in another interview. "Depression was one of let's call it 50 symptoms, and it was a small one."

"I've spent this last year trying to find out what killed Robin. To understand what we were fighting, what we were in the trenches fighting, and one of the doctors said, 'Robin was very aware that he was losing his mind, and there was nothing he could do about it,'" she says.

"This was a very unique case, and I pray to God that it will shed some light on Lewy bodies for the millions of people and their loved ones who are suffering with it," adds Susan. "Because we didn't know. He didn't know."

You can cut the prep time down by using store-bought dough. I like to make my own dough and freeze some so I always have pie dough on hand — yes, I'm that obsessed with pie.

Pie dough recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of butter (cold and cubed)
  • 2 teaspoons of white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup of water

Directions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the flour, sugar and salt.
  2. Add 1/2 the cold, cubed butter to the food processor. Pulse a few times until the butter is mixed in but still visible. Add the remaining butter, and pulse a few more times. The butter should be pea-sized and running throughout the flour.
  3. Slowly drizzle in the water. You may not need all of it, so start with 1/3 cup, and add more as needed. Pulse the mixture just until it starts to come together.
  4. Wrap the dough in cling wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before rolling it out.

Perfect apple pie filling recipe

Ingredients:

  • Lollipop or cookie sticks
  • 3 tablespoons of butter, at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup of white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 apple, diced
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 teaspoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of white sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 egg, for egg wash

Directions:

  1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the 1/3 cup of white sugar, brown sugar, butter and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a different bowl, mix the diced apple (it should be cut into fairly small chunks so each mini pie has plenty of apple in it), lemon zest, lemon juice and 2 teaspoons of sugar and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  4. Roll out the pie dough, and use a cookie cutter to cut out shapes. Make sure the pieces are at least 2 inches in diameter, or the pies won't be big enough to fill properly.
  5. Start with 1 piece of pie dough. Press the lollipop sticks about halfway into the dough, and gently push into the dough.
  6. Place a little bit of the butter-sugar mixture in the center of the dough. This will melt and turn into caramel, coating the apple mixture while it bakes.
  7. Spoon on some of the apple mixture. Top with pie dough. Use a fork to crimp the edges together.
  8. Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Whisk together an egg and a little water. Brush the egg wash onto the pies.
  10. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until golden brown.

Dog-matching site borrows cue from online dating to find pups fur-ever homes

More: 12 Thoughts every woman has while Tindering

It's called PawsLikeMe.com, and there's only one catch — your potential new partner will be extremely hairy and bring an abundance of drool to the table. And, oh, did I mention he or she will also walk on all fours?

That's right, y'all. There's now a dating app for dogs. Well, not for dogs, per se. They lack the opposable thumbs swiping right requires. Rather, PawsLikeMe.com hopes to match pups with compatible people.

Using the same online dating-style algorithm made popular by romantic companion sites such as Match.com, this doggy-matching database uses a short assessment to pair pups in need of a good home with people based on their compatibility and proximity to the user.

PawsLikeMe 1

PawsLikeMe 1

And I, for one, think it's brilliant.

Statistics suggest that nearly a quarter of dogs dropped off in shelters were originally adopted from the originating shelter or another shelter or rescue. Given that five million companion animals enter into animal shelters nationwide annually, you do the math — that's a staggering number of dogs missing out on time with their forever families, and I would wager it is largely due to incompatibility.

More: 12 Truths about rescue dogs every owner understands

Perhaps the person doing the adopting didn't realize how high energy the breed was. Maybe they thought a large dog was up their alley when, in reality, their personality is more suited to a teacup pup. Or maybe the person and the pet's personalities just didn't vibe. Dogs are remarkably emotive and similar to people in their individuality. If you're a pet lover, you know this to be inherently true.

PawsLikeMe.com created their complex matching score by combining four core personality quadrants — energy, confidence, focus and independence — and then applying scoring weights based on environmental (think kids in household, other pets, etc.) and special (dog traits, quirks, etc.) factors.

"The two major issues I saw running a nonprofit dog rescue were one, people's assumption of what they needed wasn't in line with what pet was best for them and second, a ton of people were wanting to surrender their pet without putting it in a shelter," explained Elizabeth Holmes, CEO and co-founder of PawsLikeMe.com. "We wanted to provide a way for people to connect on a national scale."

More: How to tell if your dog needs more of your attention

Rest assured, though, the site is not in it for the money. They charge nothing if users find a dog at a shelter or organization on the site (adoption fees would be up to the adopting organization), and they only charge a nominal fee for connecting dogs and people through private pet owners. Fret not, feline fans — the site eventually plans to include cats, but working out that algorithm is decidedly more complicated.

So the aim of PawsLikeMe.com is pure — to find good, lasting homes for four-legged friends who've yet to experience the kind of true love that comes from being placed with the right family.

And that, I think we can all agree, is a concept worth swiping right for.

3 Asian stereotypes this mom is tired of hearing

You see, I adopted my daughter from China when she was just one year old and I'm your usual, generic white lady, so I knew people would bring up race. I was prepared for that. What I wasn't prepared for were the racial stereotypes people would say to my face. And because she's Asian, "the model minority," people truly think these ignorant remarks they are repeating are compliments.

They're not compliments people. They are stereotypes. And they hurt my child, they hurt me and they need to stop.

So friends, family and random strangers in line at El Pollo Loco, enough with these ignorant beliefs.

Here are some of my favorite racist remarks cleverly disguised as compliments.

"Of course she's good at math, she's Chinese."

Guess what? She's not good at math because she happened to be born in China. She's good at math because she enjoys it, and because she studies. I can name several of my own family members and friends who are gifted at math and weren't born in the People's Republic of China.

There are over 1.5 billion people in China, someone's gotta suck at Sudoku.

Let's flip the script. If my daughter were African American would you say, "I see your child is black. She must be a great basketball player!"

Same thing.

"All Asians are smart."

There is nothing like a sweeping racial generalization to make my day. Asia is the largest and most populous continent on the planet. They probably have their share of stupid and silly people too. How else would you explain Japanese game shows? Or grown women in Tokyo carrying Hello Kitty backpacks?

And by the way, all the super smart Asian American kids? It's not some genetic superiority, it's usually a thing called a Mom. A person in a minivan hauling ass across town to go to math tutors and weekend Korean or Chinese schools in many U.S. cities.

All that supposed intellectual superiority is lots of hard work by many Asian American students.

"She's shy and quiet because that's what Asian women are like."

Of all the comments that people make, this is the one that burns my toast the most. This is the one that makes me want to spit fire.

Have you been watching some old 1970s spy movie where the beautiful Asian women are languidly reclined in slinky dresses waiting for James Bond to appear?

These people have obviously never known the many strong, capable, pushy and demanding Asian women I've known.

These people need to get their heads out of their you-know-where; stop watching Hollywood's tired portrayal of Asian women and watch Margaret Cho drop some F-bombs in her stand up routine.

Did you know South Korea's president is a woman?

Are you aware that China is home to more self made female billionaires and millionaires than any other country on this planet?

I don't think these women got so powerful by being shy and subservient or reclining in satin dresses. Thanks Hollywood.

My daughter is like anyone; a complex mix of shy and outspoken, calm and steel. And her disposition has nothing to do with her ethnicity any more than my frequent memory lapses have anything to do with my being blonde.

So, long story short; keep your Asian "compliments" to yourself.

And a good point to remember: whenever you ascribe certain traits to an entire race of people you are damn sure to be wrong.

Kim Kardashian urges her sister to take drastic measures for a baby

Recently, Khloé Kardashian spoke with Yahoo! Style, opening up about all sorts of things, as she does. We’ve come to know we can expect Kardashian to answer questions pretty candidly. She spoke about her family and the intensity of their circle. She discussed her body transformation and how people seem to discuss her looks with or without those extra 35 pounds.

Then, she opened up about her love life.

She is still dating James Harden, and she explained a lot of things about Lamar Odom. It had been rumored that they were getting back together, after reports surfaced that they put the brakes on finalizing their divorce. But Kardashian explains why this is not the case, saying, "There is so much more medically and emotionally that we have to go through in order to even think about anything romantically. This is a very serious situation with a lot of layers. He has a long road ahead of him, and I will be there by his side. I will always love him unconditionally. That will never waver coming from me," she said.

She also said, "We had a great love story, so I think people want to see that for me again."

And it would seem her sister, Kim, would like that so much that she is offering some advice on any future family plans. Khloé, according to Us Weekly, told Yahoo! Style that she hopes there are "little Khloés" running around someday. "I hope so," she said, "There has to be eventually. Kim’s trying to talk to me about freezing eggs. I’m like, ‘Bitch, how old do you think I am?'"

After Kim’s well-documented troubles getting pregnant, you can’t really blame her for wanting to look out for her sister, offering what she considers solid advice for Khloé’s future.

You might also remember Kardashian and Odom’s struggle to get pregnant was a large part of the storyline of their own reality show, which turned out to not be a medical issue, but because Kardashian was still taking precautions to not get pregnant.

Stefani and her fellow coach on The Voice, Shelton, were seen holding hands and cuddling at a Halloween party last weekend.

E! News nabbed the pics showing the pair — and possible love interests — at Adam Levine's Halloween bash, in full costume, getting very close. In fact, the witness said Shelton's hand wandered from her shoulders all the way down to her backside!

While the photos are a bit blurry, Stefani and Shelton can be seen wearing the same costumes in a photo posted to Instagram by Levine's wife, Behati Prinsloo.

More: Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale's divorce reportedly takes an ugly turn

When asked about the rumors by Ryan Seacrest on his radio show this morning, Stefani decided to be cute and coy instead of giving fans a straight answer.

"I'm not going to answer that right now, Ryan," she said, adding, "I think I've given enough of myself this morning to you. But I think he's hot, don't you?

"But to be super honest, it is kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time. There's been so many people that I've gotten so much comfort from. Just people coming to me and telling me their story. Not confiding, but sharing, which has just helped me see things from a different perspective and move forward.

"I don't know anything right now. I'm living in the moment, you know what I'm saying? I'm actually so grateful just to feel so alive. Honestly, I'm feeling everything so much and that's great. The sadness, the happiness, the extremes are really extreme right now."
