ARIES (March 20-April 19)

You've never been a big believer in the saying that love saves the day, but you may experience an eleventh hour conversion on July 1 when Venus conjoins Jupiter in Leo. Leo is the zodiac sign of the heart. The heart is the seat of our emotions, our character and our courage. And courage is what your lover will be summoning up after weeks of skirting around the issue of whether or not you have a future together. The time has come to speak from the heart and to express true feelings. Don't worry. You won't be disappointed.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20)

Your ruling planet Venus is good-humored and easygoing when she's in Leo. It's an excellent time to have those conversations that you've been avoiding. You won't be talking at the same time as your husband or trying to outshout him. The kids won't be so contrary, your in-laws will be eerily cooperative, and even your pets will show a newfound respect and appreciation. You can expect life to be on the mend for the next 2-1/2 weeks. It won't quite be like the lion lying down next to the lamb, but it could be the next best thing.

GEMINI (May 21-June 20)

You'll want to be out and about this week because the Mercury/Venus sextile makes you especially effervescent, charming and beguiling. You may say you're not looking and that it's all harmless flirting, but the men trailing behind you with their huge puppy dog eyes will certainly wish it were otherwise. July 5 is both a red letter day and a red flag day for love. This could be when you meet someone you wouldn't date in a million years. He has a real bad boy reputation, but he'd be willing to play nice just for you.

CANCER (June 21-July 21)

Friends will accuse you of idealizing him, but isn't that what romance is all about? People don't go running after the great love of their life because they're thinking things through rationally. If that were the case, then there would be a lot more satisfied customers out there. Neptune is the planet of magic. It rules over symbols, imagination and infatuation. Neptune invites us to forget about the past disappointments and to fall in love again like it was the first time. The sun/Neptune trine on July 1 implies that this time it might really work out.

LEO (July 22-Aug. 22)

On July 1, Venus, the planet of love and beauty, conjoins Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and higher purpose, in your sign. Simply put? It doesn't get better than this. In fact, this may be the best day of the year for love. The energy is so romantic and affectionate that even the most aloof boyfriends will be rubbing up beside you and purring a gentle purr. This is also the perfect time to mend rifts and to rebuild friendships. People just aren't in the mood to fight and be difficult. They want to make love, not war.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

You're tired of friends playing matchmaker. You know that they mean well, but you can't help feeling like they're more invested in you making a love connection than you are. Sometimes they almost seem desperate — which can be attested to by their consistently poor choice in men. Nevertheless, say yes to the latest dinner party invite or weekend barbecue where you know they've got someone new waiting in the wings. Interestingly enough the sun/Neptune trine shows that it's not the guy they picked out for you who's the hot catch — it's the buddy that he brought along.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)

Don't be so quick to declare that you've found the love of your life because you may discover a couple of more contenders materializing this week. This is one of those problems that's never a problem to have. You can never have too much of a good thing when Venus conjoins Jupiter. These are the two benefics in astrology (i.e., these two planets always bring good things) so you can expect to be showered in an embarrassment of riches on July 1, 2 and 3. It's great news for love, money and enjoying the finer things in life.

SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

The plan is to forget about that guy who broke your heart, and the Venus/Jupiter conjunction on July 1 shows that you are surrounded by fellows who are only too happy to provide a pleasant diversion. Nevertheless, it does look like you will be hearing from Mr. Persona Non Grata near the end of the week. Expect a message that's short on words but heartfelt in sentiment. You swore you'd never let him rope you back in, but there's still some unfinished business between the two of you despite protests to the contrary. Welcome to Saturn retrograde in Scorpio!

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22 -Dec. 20)

You'll be casting your gaze far afield now that Venus is joining Jupiter in Leo (July 1). This could lead you to fall in love with long distances — or at least with the people who travel them. Anything that strikes you as exotic will be an immediate turn-on. It's all very romantic, but what looks appealing to you may not go over so well with family and friends. They're not exactly keen on you pulling up stakes and moving halfway across the world.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)

You were born under a sign that's famous for saving money for a rainy day, but did you ever think about spending it on a sunny one? There's a sensational lineup of planets this week so if there was ever a time to splurge on your lover, then this is it. Treat him to a spa package, a night on the town or a weekend getaway. He'll be so thrilled that you thought of him — not to mention shocked that you actually orchestrated something extravagant like this. It's nice to know that you haven't lost your romantic touch.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 17)

Aquarians are often portrayed as open-minded, experimental and laid-back in love. Yet nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, you swing between the extremes of control freak and anarchist. It's why you get upset when people come into your life and throw you off balance. Right now it looks like someone is succeeding in doing exactly that which is why you're contemplating a swift and quiet exit. The stars would advise against it. Yes he's as exasperating as he is egotistical, but you must admit that it's been a long time since someone rocked your world.

PISCES (Feb. 18-March 19)

It isn't easy being born under the zodiac sign of unconditional love. New Age books make it sound so easy. Unconditional love is all about peace, compassion and forgiveness. But what they neglect to tell you is that unconditional love is free of all limits — free to the point of being generic. If the love you have for a lover is no different than what you feel for your best friend, a dog, a favorite song or your collection of Manolo Blahniks, then who matters most? Thankfully the Mercury/Jupiter sextile on July 3 will help you to prioritize.

But what actually happened during the show was pretty low and had a lot of viewers upset. During Chris Brown's performance, the cameras cut to a close-up of Brown's ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

More: Nicki Minaj brought an adorable surprise guest to the BET Awards (VIDEO)

The two had a tumultuous relationship, during which he pleaded guilty to the 2009 assault that left Rihanna bloody and battered. According to police affidavits published shortly after the attack, Brown, 19 at the time, beat Rihanna in a rented sports car on their way to the Grammy Awards, punching her repeatedly, biting her and choking her until she nearly lost consciousness. Brown fled the scene, but he later turned himself in. His felony probation that resulted from the attack was only lifted earlier this year.

A no-contact order prevented Brown from reaching out to Rihanna but was later lifted when the two began dating again. They broke up soon after, but they have worked together a number of times since, collaborating on three songs since 2009.

ARIES (March 20-April 19)

But don't let this go the way of all things where you start out strong and finish weak. Commit to your idea by putting together a proposal, drafting a plan and then outfitting it with a budget and time line. You'll wake up on July 1 with a burning desire to replace that old couch that's on its last legs. And once you get started with one piece of furniture, it will be impossible to stop right there. In fact, you could be pouring over swatches and new paint colors by the end of the week. Fourth-grade Girl Scouts to participate in first-ever White House Campout

Little girls across the country are packing their bags and heading to our nation's capital for something big. No, they don't have plans to lobby Congress, but they will enjoy an unforgettable camping experience with first lady Michelle Obama. She'll host the first-ever White House Campout that will allow 50 Girl Scouts to put their outdoor skills to the test during an evening of fun, adventure and learning.

Michelle Obama also serves as the honorary national president of Girl Scouts of the USA.

Those selected to participate have an opportunity to scale a rock climbing wall, pitch a tent and try other outdoor activities that challenge their physical fitness and ability to work with one another. In addition to spending the evening with Michelle Obama, NASA staff — including astronaut Cady Coleman — will join the Girl Scouts for a stargazing activity.

The White House Campout event is co-sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Interior and part of the Let's Move Outside! initiative. "I am determined to work with folks across this country to change the way a generation of kids thinks about food and nutrition," notes the first lady. With the goal of promoting a healthier lifestyle among children, the campaign works to create strategies that get young people moving and making more nutritious decisions.

Celebrating Great Outdoors Month and the National Park Service Centennial, the White House Campout will take place June 30 on the South Lawn.

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity for young girls to travel, work together and visit the White House. Not too many people can say they stepped foot inside the president's house, let alone camped outside with the first lady.

Even though many moons have passed, I can remember my days as a Girl Scout Brownie. I had so much fun meeting other girls and going on local adventures. Aside from looking forward to earning badges for my sash, there were annual camping trips that allowed my troop to put what we learned to the test. Sure, it was no trip to the White House South Lawn, but still a very memorable experience.

Participating with an organization like Girl Scouts taught me so much about myself and how I interact with fellow peers and adults. It's so important for children to get involved in their local communities and find ways to give back.

John Oliver explains why the fight for transgender rights matters (VIDEO)

Last Week Tonight's John Oliver ranted for a good 16 minutes about the challenges and legal struggles facing transgender men and women in the U.S. He broke it down in easy-to-understand bits, showcasing a variety of examples and stories about different legal fights and challenges occurring within the transgender community.

John Oliver clip

John Oliver clip

Peppering his rant with jokes that punch up, attacking the system and those ignorant on the struggles of transgender individuals, Oliver hit a few key issues. He noted that while there have been amazing strides made in the LGBT community in general, there is still a ways to go when it comes to "the T part."

He starts in on the media, admonishing them for always asking intrusive questions when it comes to trans people. "It is no more OK to ask transgender people about their sex organs than it would be to ask Jimmy Carter whether he's circumcised," Oliver says exasperatedly. He then offers up a very simple description of what it actually means to be transgender, as many in the media still seem to be unclear.

When discussing some of the challenges many transgender people still face, Oliver shares the story of two transgender women from West Virginia who were told by the DMV that they would not photograph them for their licenses unless the two removed all of their jewelry, makeup and wigs.

The military is next on Oliver's list, as he digs into the hypocrisy present regarding those who serve and protect our country. Oliver also tackles politicians who dehumanize transgender individuals and the problem with policing bathrooms.

Transgender individuals face a lot in their daily lives, including increased risks of violence, housing and job discrimination and more. John Oliver plainly puts it out there, explaining just why fighting for transgender rights is so important. Hopefully he catches the attention of folks who may not have put much thought into this before.

Unconditionally.

Forget your baby's butt: Baby powder is actually dry shampoo in camouflage. Sprinkle a bit on your tresses, shake it through and watch the grease disappear.

Anything that can hold a night's worth of pee is worthy of your attention. Once that duty is behind them, your nappies can find a happy home in your kitchen. There they can function as heavy-duty wipes or, if you soak them in water and alcohol (just a splash), they can be frozen and turned into ice packs.

6. Baby oil

Other than coating your hands, sniffing it and crying about how tiny your baby used to be, once it’s no longer needed, baby oil can be used to moisturize your skin, to massage it or even to polish steel. You’ll have the best-smelling pots in the business.

7. Baby wipe containers and formula tins

Of course you could employ these to serve cocktails and drinks to your family and friends, but that may not go down so well. They were, after all, once filled with your boob juice. Instead, use baby bottles as measuring cups to ration out ingredients for cooking, baking and merry home making.

9. Sudocrem

It's not often that you'd use a butt product on your face, but do it. Zinc is the mortal enemy of blemishes and eczema, so if your kid no longer needs to have his tushie lathered in Sudocrem, use it on your face and watch your pimples quiver.

10. Lanolin-based nipple cream

Now that your nipples no longer need to be saved from the gums of doom (aka your newborn), you can use your lanolin-based nipple cream on leather shoes and handbags. We all get cranky and irritable when we don’t get enough sleep, but the quality of sleep you’re getting is also a big factor in your overall mood. "Sleep abnormalities are a hallmark of depressive disorders, with many depressed patients experiencing insomia," according to a New York Times depression guide. "Likewise, insomnia or other changes in waking and sleeping patterns can have significant effects on a person’s mood, and perhaps worsen or draw out an underlying depression." So, if you're being treated for depression or experiencing symptoms of depression, sleep quality could be a factor.

2. You're accident-prone

One of the scariest long-term effects of poor sleep quality is something called "microsleep." When this happens, almost like narcolepsy, you fall asleep for a few seconds at a time and it’s completely out of your control. Your body needs sleep and will get it however it can. Microsleeping could be the cause of those unexplained trips and falls and can become incredibly dangerous behind the wheel of a car.

3. You're more aggressive or impulsive

Are you finding your road rage harder to control? Did you recently make a ridiculous large purchase? You might be surprised that impulsiveness and aggression are both totally exacerbated by a lack of restful sleep, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine and Institutes of Health. If you find yourself flipping out at the grocery store cashier for no reason, you might be suffering from the effects of poor sleep quality.

4. You're forgetful

If you're misplacing keys and forgetting the milk at the grocery store more often than usual, a lack of quality sleep might be the culprit. According to a Harvard study, people who don’t get good quality sleep not only experience short-term problems with focus and memory, but this could also be a long-term risk for dementia.

5. You're packing on pounds

Turns out that extra jelly around the middle might have more to do with how well you're sleeping than you thought. Poor sleep quality makes fat-producing hormones go crazy and makes you crave more fatty, high-calorie foods. In one study from the Mayo Clinic, women who got less than six hours of sleep a night were likely to gain 11 pounds more than another woman who got seven hours.

6. You've got high blood pressure

Along with weight gain, long-term poor sleep quality can raise your blood pressure — putting you at greater risk for both stroke and heart disease. If you’ve recently seen your blood pressure rise, you might want to talk to your doctor about boosting your sleep quality with medication or behavioral therapy.

7. You've got serious job burnout

Are you on the verge of a full-on "Take this job and shove it!" moment? Before you go out in a blaze of glory, consider that crummy sleep might be to blame—even though you might not really feel all that tired. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that 30 percent of working Americans aren’t getting the good, restful sleep they need and it's causing massive job burnout.

8. You're looking older than you should

If you're not getting enough rest at night, your skin is missing out on critical time to repair itself, leading to more fine lines and wrinkles, saggy skin and even age spots. A lack of restful sleep will also make your skin drier and keep you from recovering from sunburns as quickly as you should. Beauty sleep is real.

10 Slightly unsexy body hair issues that every woman has

Come on, ladies. I know it's not just me. We are all dealing with slightly unsexy body hair issues. Unless, of course, you're one of those lucky women who likes her armpit hair. (In which case, yes, you are totally sexy and enjoy.)

According to Dr. Garrett Gause, Director of Medical Affairs for Ideal Image, women head to hair removal facilities in secretive, flocculent droves. "The most common complaint seems to be facial hair," he says. This was relieving news to me, since I spend time each week plucking four persistent whiskers from my right cheek and left neck-chin. "Other common problem areas are the bikini line, full bikini including nether parts, the lower abdomen, underarms and legs," he says. It's also common for women to seek help for their woolly feet, hands and toes.

More: 6 Wacky (but amazing) face masks you have to try

Upon discovering that my ankle hair is totally normal, I will probably just let it grow out. Strength in numbers, right? In honor of all those body hair issues that we usually don't discuss, here are the top 10 I've heard about in conversations with my best girlfriends. Women, unite.

1. The lady mustache. It is a thing of mystery. Shadow? Food particles? Or your own glorious facial hair?

2. Big toe hair tufts. These curly beauties are certainly the topic of conversation every time you seek a professional pedicure.

3. Sasquatch arms. You keep the arm hair for warmth, because you're a practical kind of woman.

4. The happy trail. Gotta love that dark arrow of hair growing between your belly button and your pubic bone.

5. Swaths of invisible pubes. These are the pubes that are invisible to the human eye until you're laying out in a bikini in the light of day.

6. Windblown behind the knees. Your legs are so smooth. So perfect. Until you step outside in a sundress and feel the wind blowing through your knee-pit hair.

7. The uni-brow. It lends an air of intrigue, don't you think?

More: It's actually a good idea to shave your face if you're a woman

8. Prickly whiskers. At least that one stubborn cheek whisker grows in at the same place every few days. And at 37-times the thickness of a normal whisker.

9. Ankle hair curls. These are similar to the hair that blows behind the knees. Only more curly, and more pube-like.

10. The lady-glove. Is it a demure Victorian-style glove, or is it a downy layer of finger hair? A lady will never tell.

These are normal issues, and you're not alone. If you're concerned with your body hair, Dr. Gause said that most issues are easy to troubleshoot. Try a razor for a quick fix — or a depilatory cream or waxing for longer-lasting results. A professional laser treatment, however, is the only solution if you want a permanent fix. "Utilizing well-trained medical professionals with state of the art lasers is going to be your best bet for any type of unwanted body hair," Gause said.

8 Steps to make a litter box area more organized

1. Start with a compact closet

If possible, keep your cat's litter box out of high-traffic areas. Your cat will appreciate the privacy of a compact closet and you'll appreciate that doing so will minimize odors. Just make sure that you can keep the closet door open at all times.

2. Place a rubber mat on the floor

litter mat

Place a rubber mat underneath the litter box to protect your flooring and catch litter box spills. Your best bet is a grooved and flexible mat so it can catch litter and you can easily pour it back into the box. (Petco, $12 and up)

3. Keep cat litter in a cute storage bin

cute and colorful trash bins

Sure, you can just store your litter in the box it comes in, but why? Pick up a cute bucket to match your decor and pour your newly purchased litter in here for a more stylish way to solve your litter eyesores. (Ikea, $15)

4. Keep plastic bags handy with a wall mount

wall mount bag dispenser

You'll need plastic grocery bags to haul away clumps of litter and cat poop when you clean your litter box. Keep them handy with a wall mount bag dispenser rather than wildly searching for a fresh bag every day. (Amazon, $10)

5. Affix a paper towel dispenser to the wall

paper towel dispenser

In addition to the grocery bags, you know that you'll need paper towels to clean up your cat's unfortunate misses. Don't just place a roll of paper towels on the floor next to your litter box, since doing so is clearly in the splash zone. Screw a dispenser into the wall for easy access instead. (Walmart, $15)

6. Invest in a scoop caddy

litter scoop caddy

Please don't confess that you just place your soiled scoop to the side of the litter box. That's gross. Hang a scoop caddy on the side of your litter box to contain its ickiness and organize your space. (Amazon, $9)

7. Hide a mason jar of baking soda

mason jar air freshener

Baking soda is a natural and scent-free odor eliminator that belongs in every cat owner's home. Keep your home smelling fresh by placing baking soda in your litter box area. Change the baking soda every 30 days for the best results. You can conceal the box of soda or display it in a mason jar decorated to complement your litter storage tote.

8. Conceal everything with a tension rod

Never underestimate the beauty of a tension rod. Once you've feng shui-ed your litter box area, conceal the space with a tension rod and a curtain. Your cat can easily access the litter box, but you won't have to look at it every time you walk by the closet.

Bristol Palin says pregnancy was planned, not an 'abstinence spokesperson'

Palin appears to be doing a bit of backpedaling. The 24-year-old recently announced she is pregnant with her second child, and in addition to saying it was a disappointment to her friends and family, she also wrote, "I've been trying my hardest to keep my chin up on this one."

After getting quite a bit of backlash, she decided to post a new blog post in which she addresses the "giddy a$$holes" and insists the pregnancy was planned.

"So here are the things you should all get straight before you continue to mock me, judge me, and talk about me. None of us are perfect," she wrote. "I made a mistake, but it’s not the mistake all these giddy a$$holes have loved to assume. This pregnancy was actually planned."

Palin has never revealed who the father of her baby is, however she did call off the wedding to Dakota Meyer one month ago. She has a 6-year-old son named Tripp from a previous relationship with Levi Johnston.

"Everyone knows I wanted more kids, to have a bigger family. Believing I was heading that way, I got ahead of myself. Things didn’t go as planned, but life keeps going. Life moves on," she continued. "But I do not regret this baby. This baby is not a disappointment, and I cannot wait to be a mom times two. Tripp is going to make the best big brother!!"

Palin also addressed those who criticized her for her speeches preaching abstinence.

"Let’s get another thing straight, because I can’t tolerate all the talk on this subject. I have never been paid as an 'abstinence spokesperson.' I was employed by the great people at The Candie's Foundation," she wrote, going on to say she speaks out about pro-life issues.

"When I realized I was pregnant, I knew I would be completely crucified. But I never even thought of aborting this child, NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCE," she continued before calling out the website Gawker. "Sorry to the ghouls at Gawker, who said this baby is an argument FOR abortion. Not happening."

She ends her blog contradicting herself again, saying that "this is not the ideal situation" — even though the pregnancy was reportedly planned.

"I am pregnant. This is not the ideal situation, but life is important even if it’s not in the most absolute ideal circumstance. This is more confirmation on what I’ve always stood for. I’ve always been pro-life and I am standing for life now."

"I was in Los Angeles, and it was literally the worst time of my life," Lavigne said about her medical experience. "I was seeing every specialist, and literally like the top doctors... it was so stupid. They would pull up their computer and be like, 'Chronic fatigue syndrome' or 'Why don't you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?' or 'Are you depressed?'

"This is what they do to a lot of people that have Lyme disease. They don't have an answer for them, so they tell them... 'You're crazy.'

"I started going to other doctors and specifically telling them and asking, 'I have Lyme disease. I know I do. Can you check me?' Then I finally figured out, 'Find a Lyme specialist.'"

Katy Perry is at war with two nuns

Perry is looking to purchase a historic Los Angeles convent in Los Feliz, Calif., but the nuns aren't having it.

More: Katy Perry dissed Taylor Swift during the Super Bowl? You be the judge

Us Weekly obtained some pretty surprising documents that explain two of the five nuns who occupy the convent are arguing that the property is legally theirs to sell. Sister Rita Callanan and Sister Catherine Rose sold the property to a restaurateur named Dana Hollister for $15.5 million. Meanwhile, Archbishop Jose Gomez thinks he has the rights the property and has been negotiating with the pop star for an estimated $14.5 million to make the place hers.

Perry even tried to close the deal by visiting the nuns, but no dice.

More: How Katy Perry's Super Bowl performance became one of the greats

According to Us, Sister Rita didn't have anything nice to say. "Well, I found Katy Perry and I found her videos and... if it's all right to say, I wasn't happy with any of it. We have given many years to this archdiocese and we have served them well. For the archdioceses to... put us under a bus and run over us, I'm sorry, it was just too much for me."

The documents also reveal that Gomez is suing Hollister in order to void her purchase of the property while Perry has been allowed by the courts to visit the convent, which she did with an architect by her side.

I guess the bible says, "love thy neighbor," but it doesn't say, "love thy seller or buyer."

Either way, it looks like Perry might win this battle even if Sister Rita doesn't approve.

What do you think Perry plans on doing with the historic convent if she's able to cloe the deal?

Tomato focaccia bread recipe

Inspired by Style Sweet CA

This easy homemade focaccia bread is topped with sliced tomatoes, sea salt and dried herbs before being baked up golden brown.

Serves 8-10

Prep time: 25 minutes | Inactive time: 45 minutes | Bake time: 20 minutes | Total time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients:

For the bread dough

  • 1 package dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons raw, organic honey
  • 2-1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

For the topping

  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4-5 large roma tomatoes, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
  • Fresh chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions:

  1. To a large mixing bowl, add the yeast, warm water and honey. Mix well, and let stand for 10 minutes or until the mixture starts to foam slightly.
  2. To a separate bowl, add the flour, salt and olive oil. Carefully pour the yeast mixture into the flour, and mix until a soft, sticky dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, and knead for 5 minutes or until the dough becomes elastic.
  4. Place the dough into a large bowl lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, and cover with a kitchen towel. Let the dough rise for 45 minutes or until it doubles in size.
  5. Heat the oven to 400 degrees F, and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  6. Once the dough has doubled in size, turn it back out onto a floured surface.
  7. Using a rolling pin, gently roll out the dough into the desired shape (about 1 inch in thickness).
  8. Using your fingertips, gently press down into the dough, creating little holes but not breaking through the dough.
  9. Transfer the dough to the baking sheet. Brush the top of the dough with olive oil, and sprinkle the minced garlic on top. Add the sliced tomatoes, sea salt and dried herbs.
  10. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until the top of the bread is a nice, golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven, and garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  12. Serve warm, or keep in an airtight container until ready to enjoy for up to 4 days.

New warnings on Essure permanent birth control are scary

$

Essure works by sending the coil-like device into the fallopian tubes via implantation. Eventually, tissue grows over it and blocks sperm from reaching a woman's eggs. It's been around for 13 years. Now federal health regulators are reviewing the safety after hearing from patients that it caused fatigue, depression and weight gain.

The Food and Drug Administration still says they are not 100 percent sure those are side effects, but are having a special meeting, which causes some concern. The truth is, it sometimes seems like there is no good birth control.

More: New documentary explores scary side of hormonal birth control

After years of trial and error and trying just about everything under the sun, I am very pleased with my Paragard IUD. There are no hormones and it lasts for a good five to 10 years. I had one after my second pregnancy and took it out five years later to try for baby number three, and was pregnant again quickly. I got a new one after number three was born and have happily not been pregnant and never had anything to worry about.

But I also know I will still be fertile in 10 years when it has to be removed and then what? As I have told my husband, that's the time he needs to take one for the team. Permanent birth control should be the domain of the man. Women spend our whole lives worrying about birth control, so it's on the man to take that final step. It's less invasive and ultimately less risk than it is for the woman.

More: What birth control is right for you?

This Essure news only makes that more clear. When it comes to ending fertility, it's a vasectomy for the win.

6 Ways to help a friend who struggles with depression or anxiety

$

Here are some ways you can really help someone who's struggling with mental health issues.

1. Education is important

Learn as much as you can about managing anxiety and depression. There are many books and lots of information that will educate you on how to deal with fear and anxiety. Share this information with the person who is struggling. Education is the key in finding the answers you're looking for in managing your fears.

2. Give the person a break

Be understanding and patient with the person struggling with their fears. Dealing with depression and anxiety can be difficult for the person, so do not add more problems than what is already there. Be persistent in trying to get help for your friend but do not get on their case. Give your friend the space they need to make the right decisions.

3. Make the right choices

: Remind the person that drugs and alcohol are not the answers. Alcohol and drugs will not take away your problems and fears. In the short run, they might make you feel better, but in the long run these addictions will only make things worse. Continually remind the person to seek professional help instead of using drugs and alcohol.

4. Circumstances always change

Get your friend or relative to understand that their situation will not remain the same. Tell the person that things change and events do not stay the same. No one can predict the future with 100 percent accuracy. Even if the thing that you feared does happen, there are factors that you can't predict which can be used to your advantage.

5. There are options

The person who is struggling may feel lost and confused, but remind the person that the answers to their problems are out there. Remind the person that they can't sit around and expect to get better. They need to be willing to seek help and remain persistent in finding the answers to their problems.

6. Find and talk to a professional

Try to find a professional counselor who can help your friend with their mental health. Get the person to seek treatment from a counselor. A counselor will be able to provide the person with advice and insights on how to deal with their current mental health issues. By talking to a professional, a person will be helping themselves because they will become better able to deal with their problems.

I learned that there will always be some people who will give you a hard time. The key is to keep your distance from those people who do not support you and to stay close to your friends and family who are supportive. If you can't find anyone who can support you, try following some of these suggestions.

Us Weekly shared an exclusive sneak peek of Bachelor in Paradise Season 2 and it showcases and emotional Crawley getting some helpful support from a nearby friendly raccoon.

More: Chris Soules' latest gig makes us think he's just looking for fame

Whoever edited this segment has an odd, but much appreciated sense of humor. The producers made it look like she was having a conversation with the raccoon, when really her rant was just one sided and she never even saw the little guy hiding out in the bushes.

"I don't want it! This is drama," Crawley says in the clip between tears. "I don't want this! I just want to have fun."

Meanwhile, the raccoon replies with things like, "Amen, girlfriend!" and "I gotta go tweet this out."

Crawley is known for her emotional ups and downs so it's no surprise that on the new season of Bachelor in Paradise it's a rocky road for the poor bachelorette.

Crawley, who is 34, first joined Bachelor Nation as a contestant during Season 18, joined Bachelor in Paradise's first season when her quest for love with Juan Pablo ended in an emotional rant that went down in Bachelor history.

Since Bachelor in Paradise also failed to find Crawley a suitable, long-term match, she is back for Season 2. Unfortunately, judging by this clip, her luck hasn't gotten any better in the men department.

The New York Times puts E L James in her place, big time

More: Chrissy Teigen calls Fifty Shades of Grey book "horrendous"

Especially since James has gotten quite the diva reputation as of late, after many big names, including director Sam Taylor-Johnson, opted out of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie sequel because of big time creative differences. According to the rumors, James is quite the control freak when it comes to her books.

But the New York Times clearly doesn't think she has anything to brag about. Especially not with her newest release of Grey, which tells the story of Fifty Shades of Grey from Christian Grey's perspective.

"Condolences to the 1.1 million people who rushed out to buy E L James' Grey," the first line of the article begins. And it only gets worse (or better) from there.

More: If you loved Fifty Shades of Grey: Laugh at these parodies

The powerhouse newspaper went way father than trashing the novel. It's a review that's so hilariously scathing, it might be the most hated book ever published.

The Times despises the book so much that the review is even uses the words "author" and "book" advisedly.

"Ms. James, a former writer of fan fiction who is nothing if not shrewd, has managed to outshine the many authors who write similar, better or crazier material than her own," though the newspaper has seemingly no answer for her success.

"Her own fans write better stories about Christian Grey than she does," the reviewer unflinchingly adds and seems to take special offense to Christian's inner conversations with his penis.

Yup, you read that right. Christian Grey's penis has a voice in the book.

"Ms. James' own imagination is limited, and she has already taken it about as far as it'll go."

But, despite how epically bad the book may be, it still managed to sell over a million copies in just four days. Meaning, James is still getting rich off all the hate.

Did you read Grey? Was it as bad as the New York Times would have everyone believe?
