Demi Lovato gets real about Taylor Swift's dating history

Watch out, Wilmer Valderrama! Demi Lovato is engaged to another man (VIDEO)

Lovato opened up to ET Canada, who made the mistake of asking her what she thought about her friend, Taylor Swift, singing about ex-boyfriends.

"Don't f*** with me if you're going to say women suck," Lovato responded, adding that Swift is "one of the few people I've maintained a friendship with in this industry."

Lovato now seems happy with her life. She is happily dating actor, Wilder Valderrama, and even got engaged — to a 5-year-old on stage — last week!

But for Lovato, life to her is about so much more than living in the past. She said her message now is about "inspiring women and inspiring everybody to be honest." That honesty has helped others with their own lives, since Lovato has become very open about her past addictions and body image issues. And through years of healing, she is finally learning who she is — and also who she wants to surround herself with.

Taylor Swift wants Selena Gomez to find some smarter friends

"One lesson to learn is that you have to be able to tell the difference between yes people and no people," she explained. "If people are handing you drugs, do they really care about you? That's what I had to learn the hard way.

"You have to realize your worth is so much more than putting s*** up your nose."

Jordin Sparks puts a ring on it... just not her finger

Jordin Sparks works Vegas red carpet in a bikini

The fresh-faced songstress, who is hot off her breakup with fellow musician, Jason Derulo, is sporting a new septum piercing and she debuted the new bling on Instagram Wednesday.

Sparks posted an extremely close-up black and white picture of herself in which the hoop is clearly seen pierced through the middle of the cartilage in her nose. She plays it cool, though, not making mention of the jewelry and captioning the post with a simple, "I'm about to be wiiiiiide awake on this redeye."

A couple hours after her new look was revealed, Sparks posted another photo of herself looking silly. At first glance, it seems that she had already gotten over her piercing and had taken it out, but the caption shot that theory down. "Wide awake!! Aaaaand just like that, it disappears! I love the versatility of this piercing. Can't wait to get a cuter ring. :)."

While we remain totally supportive of Sparks while she is going through her undoubtedly emotionally draining breakup, we have to admit that we're kind of glad that the piercing is so easily hidden. The "Battlefield" singer looks gorgeous, no matter what she wears or does to her face, but this look just doesn't quite seem like her style.

It's not shocking for Sparks to do something a little out of character. It's pretty common for people to get tattoos, new hairdos or make some kind of radical alteration to their appearance while going through a major life change. Sparks also hinted recently that she's ready to move on by revealing her huge celeb crush, so maybe this is the final nail in the coffin of her toxic relationship and she's ready to put the whole Derulo debacle behind her for good.

Harry Styles fan fiction gets the Fifty Shades of Grey treatment

VIDEO: One Direction cloned in "You & I," challenges Miley

That's right: Fan fiction author, Anna Todd, is blowing up the internet with her series, After, which is based on the guys of One Direction, specifically Styles.

What started as an innocent adventure in writing something sexy for herself quickly turned into an online sensation on Wattpad, an online community of writers and readers where books are published one chapter at a time.

One Direction drops new album details, free song download

"It's the vanilla version of Fifty Shades of Grey!" Todd gushed during an interview with E! News. That means no Red Room of Pain, but you can count on lots of sexiness in all its detailed glory.

After by Anna Todd

Now, Paramount has optioned the film rights and Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot will produce. Their previous credits include Hairspray, 17 Again and The Last Song. Hmm, does that mean Zac Efron or LiamHemsworth could be starring in the flick? Either one of those hunks would get us in the theater. Unless Styles wants to play himself, of course. Then all bets are off.

10 Things you didn't know about One Direction

Todd described the premise of the series to E! News: "Tessa is a girl in college. It's not me, but I've realized we have certain things in common. The male lead in the story looks like Harry Styles, but he is in college not in a band. All of the 1D boys are in the story," Todd promised.

According to the author, Liam Payne is Hardin's stepbrother, Landan, in the book. The other boys are each represented with their own characters: Louis Tomlinson is Logan, Niall Horan is Nate and Zayn Malik is Zedd.

Todd also talked about her young heroine and the love story that blossoms between her and Hardin. "It's a love-hate thing between Harry and Tessa. They hate each other in the beginning and they fight and then they fall in love. She breaks down all of his walls." Maybe literally and figuratively.

Have you read Todd's After series? Tell us if it's worth the read.

Sorry, guys, Kanye West has the dopest wife, ever

"I was saying that earlier to my friends, 'I wonder what [North's] first job is gonna be,'" Kardashian told ES magazine. "And they were like, 'What? She's gonna have a job?' and I was like, 'Are you kidding me? Of course she is.' She will have to work for what she wants."

Kardashian even revealed her harrowing childhood of not being able to get everything she wanted without saving up for it.

"I saved up for this Dolce & Gabbana dress I really wanted, or like in high school these Prada shoes that my parents wouldn't buy me," she said, according to the Huffington Post. "And I remember they were $400, and I had to save for the entire year to get them. We didn't get anything [from my parents], we had to get a job if we wanted it. So I was working in a clothing store and I would save and save."

Although Kardashian may not have had a traditional job in years, she has learned how to make money. Her app has earned her tens of millions of dollars, plus she is raking in millions more in endorsement and fashion deals.

Kanye West has plans to design a diamond ring for his baby daughter

But Kardashian seems happy that her parents taught her how to work for what she wants and she has tried to incorporate that into her parenting style. She recently told the Daily Mail, "I am a strict mother. I'm really fun and playful, but I'm really strict on nap time, and sleeping in her own crib," she said. Adding, "And maybe on weekends, [North will] come and sleep in the bed with us. But… I'm not crazy strict."

Did the Dalai Lama advise Selena Gomez to ditch Justin Bieber?

Orlando Bloom parties like a hero after Bieber brawl

Gomez, who is Vancouver, Canada, to host a special event called We Day, took time out from her hosting preparations to attend Heart-Mind 2014, a conference put on by the Dalai Lama Center. Gomez was lucky enough to meet with the Dalai Lama himself and the spiritual guru advised Gomez to ditch Justin Bieber for good!

OK, OK... we don't know what his holiness really said to Gomez, but the songstress posted a picture with the caption "words of wisdom" and we made the leap because it seems the wisest thing Gomez can do right now is nip her on-again, off-again, on-again, off-again relationship with the troubled Bieber in the bud.

Selena Gomez and the Dalai Lama

The Heart-Mind conference's theme has previously been "the science of kindness" and has explored questions regarding empathy in children. We Day is all about encouraging young people to get out and volunteer and "is the movement of our time, empowering a generation of young global citizens through an inspirational event and year-long educational initiative," according to WeDay.com. In addition to Gomez, celebs speaking and performing at this year's event include Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Nick Jonas and Canadian musician, Shawn Mendes. Orlando Bloom, Gomez's rumored love interest, was also on the docket to attend... coincidence?

Gomez posted a couple more pictures of herself Wednesday, both prepping for the show and on the stage hosting.

Hugh Jackman strips for Kelly Ripa (VIDEO)

That was the hilarious question Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan posed to Hugh Jackman on Live! with Kelly and Michael Tuesday morning. The segment included topics like skinny-dipping (he's in), tattoos (he's out) and googling himself (he's out).

VIDEO: NPH in drag, Hugh Jackman raps in Tonys best moments

Each answer also resulted in Jackman removing one article of clothing.

"Oh, how the audience has turned on you, Hugh," Ripa teased the actor, who got booed after nearly taking his shirt off, but then psyched the audience out and removed his watch instead.

"You scared him, by the way, with your cheering," Ripa counseled the audience. "Now, wait until he is nude to cheer."

TRAILER: Past and present collide in X-Men: Days of Future Past

She was, by far, the most excited to see Jackman remove his clothing and accessories. At one point, she did a little bounce up and down in her chair, smiling ear to ear.

The best topic the hosts asked Jackman about was Speedos. Hugh's out. But he did give us a very nice flash of his Calvins, thank you very much.

Unfortunately, that's about as Magic Mike XXL as the interview got. It was pretty tame, unless you have a foot fetish. In his frantic search for more accessories to take off before he moved on to clothing, Jackman was almost willing to go as far as removing his wedding ring!

Who's hotter: X-Men's Hugh Jackman vs. Michael Fassbender

While Ripa seemed ready to keep the game going for the entire show (or, at least, until Jackman was naked), Strahan took them to a commercial break before things could get even more awkward for the poor actor.

Watch a clip of the segment below.

Celeb feud alert: Jennifer Lawrence slams Perez Hilton over nude photos

Is Chris Martin already in love with Jennifer Lawrence?

One of those people was blogger, Perez Hilton, who posted the photos on his website — and only took them down after the public backlash.

"He took it down because people got p***ed, and that's the only reason why," Lawrence told Vanity Fair. "And then I had to watch his apology. And what he basically said was 'I just didn't think about it.'

"'I just didn't think about it' is not an excuse. That is the exact issue itself."

Hilton responded to Lawrence after her Vanity Fair interview was posted online on Monday, Oct. 20 with basically the exact opposite of an apology. He said, "This video is for Jennifer Lawrence, to say 'f*** you!' And I'm going to get in trouble for that, but I don't give a s***."

JLaw feels strongly about her photos being spread across the internet and she said it made her feel "sexually exploited and violated."

Nicholas Hoult opens up about his ex JLaw's nude photos (VIDEO)

"Anybody who looked at those pictures, you're perpetuating a sexual offense," she said. "You should cower with shame. Even people who I know and love say, 'Oh, yeah, I looked at the pictures.' I don't want to get mad, but at the same time I'm thinking, I didn't tell you that you could look at my naked body.

"Just because I'm a public figure, just because I'm an actress, does not mean that I asked for this. It does not mean that it comes with the territory," she added. "It's my body, and it should be my choice, and the fact that it is not my choice is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe that we even live in that kind of world.

Modern Family actress Elizabeth Peña dead at 55

TMZ is reporting that Peña, who was 55, died from "cirrhosis of the liver due to alcohol," according to her death certificate. The site reports the actress had the disease for several months before she died.

TMZ also reports that in the time leading up to her death, Peña suffered from "acute gastrointestinal bleeding hours before her death," which eventually caused her heart to stop.

Peña, whose parents immigrated to the U.S. from Cuba, had an acting career that spanned nearly four decades, from the late 1970s to just before her death. Her breakthrough role was in the 1987 Ritchie Valens biopic, La Bamba.

Equally successful in film and television, she held roles in films like Jacob's Ladder and Rush Hour and, most recently, made a guest appearance on Modern Family as the mother of Sofia Vergara's character. She was also the star of the first season of Matador on the El Rey Network.

Peña's fans and costars alike were shocked by her sudden passing and flooded social media with an outpouring of love for the late star.

"I am stunned and heartbroken, just found out about the passing of my friend Elizabeth Pena," her La Bamba costar, Lou Diamond Phillips, tweeted. "She was such a Life Force it's hard to believe."

3 Reasons we're in shock over Sarah Hyland's domestic violence story

"In every aspect of life they're the best for me," the actress told People. "We're always there for each other. And it's wonderful. I love them."

The restraining order against Prokop was awarded in September, after Hyland had broken up with him. The court documents revealed that Prokop had allegedly assaulted Hyland, physically and verbally, while they were together — including attempting to choke her while calling her names back in May.

Hyland and Prokop were together for five years and the abuse allegedly happened throughout their relationship. It was Hyland's TV mom, Julie Bowen, who finally talked to Hyland about breaking it off with him. After she ended it, Prokop allegedly threatened to kill Hyland's dog and burn her house down.

"His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak," Hyland said in the court documents. "I was scared and in fear for my life."

She added that he has "relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats."

Sarah Hyland talks recycling outfits and her favorite looks

Through it all, Hyland seems to be thankful for the support from her Modern Family costars. She has been out in public since and has appeared "cheerful." Besides her costars, Hyland said she has finally found her true "significant other" — her dog, Barkley Bixby.

And even though Barkley was a gift from Prokop, he has been a figure of support for Hyland through it all.

Matthew McConaughey's wife knows what she wants and she gets it

Matthew McConaughey appears to be one of them — he recently revealed one of his first moments in the spotlight and, OMG, it is adorable.

The Oscar-winning actor was being honored by friends, family and other stars as the 28th recipient of the American Cinematheque Award Tuesday in Beverly Hills when he shared the adorable memory with Extra — his first award as a child was Little Mr. Texas!

Well, sort of. That's the story if you ask McConaughey's mom, anyway.

"Little Mr. Texas," she explained, showing off a picture of McConaughey in an adorable little cowboy hat showing off his trophy. "Isn't that cute? He won an award — Little Mr. Texas."

According to McConaughey himself, however, that's not quite how the story actually goes.

"Oh, I was runner-up," he laughed. "If you ask my mother, she likes to say I won, but I didn't win. See, I thought I won for 20 years and then one day, I blew up that picture and I was like, 'Mom, it says runner-up.' She's like, 'Uhhh.'"

Well, either way, McConaughey sure made an adorable little cowpoke. And he went on to talk about what it's like to raise a few cowpokes of his own — the actor has three kids, 6-year-old Levi, 4-year-old Vida and 2-year-old Livingston.

"They're just starting school," McConaughey told Extra. "They love that... more than I did."

He goes on to dish about how weird it is to have tailor-made tuxes for his kids — McConaughey didn't get his own first tailor-made tux until he was 27! — and writing in his diary to try to figure out what to say during his acceptance speech for the Cinematheque Award.

Our wishlist for Beyoncé's rumored platinum album

According to E! News, Bey and Jay are house hunting in Paris, the City of Love. The divorce rumors have already been, for the most part, shot down, but if this isn't their death blow, I don't know what will be.

E! News reports a source said the couple looked at a house in Paris with a huge garden and plenty of tall trees for privacy. The abode is in Neuilly-sur-Seine, which is a wealthy suburb west of Paris, where homes usually land in the 3-4 million euro range. According to the source, this home was a little more expensive than the average, but no price is too great for Beyoncé and Jay Z, who have a lot of special memories in Paris.

Harvard students can now take a class in Beyoncé

"We love Paris," Jay told a Paris audience during one of the pair's On the Run tour stops. "It's special to us because we got engaged here, and this is where Blue Ivy was conceived."

The timing looks like it's right for Bey and Jay to move on, because a source recently told People that the rocky days of their marriage are far behind them — they reportedly renewed their vows recently.

"They did have major problems," the source said. "But they worked it out and they've renewed their vows."

No other details are known, like how or where the power couple said their renewed "I dos," but what really matters is that it looks like our favorite couple is finally back on track. Here's to 2015: the year of the new Bey and Jay!

Being a feminist is not making other women feel bad for their choices

Gore's song was a feminist anthem of its time, released 50 years ago. But Gore wants women and girls today to remember what it's really about, so she teamed up with actresses, singers and other women to bring the issue to light once again.

Gore introduced the video, which included appearances by some famous faces like Lena Dunham, Natasha Lyonne, Tracee Ellis Ross, Alexa Chung, Carrie Brownstein, Rachel Antonoff and Sia. Dunham, and many of the other women in the video, have been outspoken in the past about women's rights and they have been inspiring others in the process.

The creators of the video are hoping to not just start a conversation, but start a movement.

"It's not enough to vote — we have to vote like our futures are on the line because they are. That means you vote, but you also talk about voting. You post about voting. You bring some pals to the polls," the Vimeo page read. "There is a war being waged on women's rights and we must fight back with everything we've got. Please VOTE on Nov.4th!"

Throughout the video, statements urging women to take a stand were played and explained the statistics on women who vote — and why it is so important now.

"Your vote matters, especially when some people plan to overturn Roe vs. Wade, immediately de-fund Planned Parenthood, shut down the nation's family planning program and repeal the affordable care acts," the video said. "Let's send a clear message on Nov. 4. We will not go backwards!

"When women vote, women win."

Kristen Stewart and 5 other surprising celeb comments on feminism

The video ends with Lesley Gore urging women to vote in November, saying, "Yes, ladies, we've got to come together, get out there and vote, and protect our bodies," Gore says. "They're ours."

Fox News' Kimberly Guilfoyle offends young women everywhere (VIDEO)

There is nothing worse than seeing an intelligent, poised woman drag herself and other women through the mud with an attempted joke (sort of) that just isn't even a little funny.

Clueless actress Stacey Dash joins Fox News

Fox News host, Kimberly Guilfoyle, joined the program, The Five, for a prevalent conversation on female voters and whether the notion of Republicans waging "war on women" will actually hurt the Democrats come Nov. 4.

It all started with a comment from fellow host, Greg Gutfeld. "That also correlates with age," Gutfeld said, referring to statements about how single versus married women vote, "because age comes with wisdom and it's a known fact that the older that you get, the more conservative you get, and I always tell young people, 'You don't have to wait to become a conservative. Don't waste your time.' But the point is, a lot of women have also caught on to the big joke, which it seems to be even more sexist to assume that women cannot take care of themselves because they're women and therefore need the government to take care of them."

VIDEO: Elisabeth Hasselbeck takes her views to Fox News

"Right, that's the thing," Guilfoyle chimed in. "But when you're young like that, you think — the same reason why young women on juries are not a good idea, they don't get it. They're not in that same life experience of paying the bills, doing the mortgage, kids, community, crime, education, health care. They're, like, healthy and hot and running around without a care in the world."

Wait, what? No, you read her comments correctly. Young women are too "healthy and hot" to care about the world around them.

When host, Bob Beckel, objected to Guilfoyle's comment about juries, Guilfoyle seemed to be ready to recall her words, "I didn't say they shouldn't be," she said. Unfortunately, she kept talking from there, "I just think, excuse them so they can go back on Tinder and Match.com."

These words are completely inexcusable. She's basically saying that until women are married, they don't have the proper life experience to participate in politics. Or, in other words, women need a man to have a complete life and view of the world.

Beyoncé: Gender equality is a myth

It's appalling.

And it's ironic, really, since this segment makes it clear that no one needs to further the idea of a Republican "war on women." Obviously, they're doing a great job of creating the notion all on their own with comments like this.

Now, parties aside, whether you're a Democrat, a Republican or somewhere in between, there is no political line that makes Guilfoyle's comments acceptable.

Young women aren't the oblivious ones. It's just Kimberly Guilfoyle.

Watch the segment below.

S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Mockingbird suit is sexy and practical, but it isn't the first

In the most recent episode of the series, Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) was introduced and helped Simmons escape the wrath of Hydra. Fans of the comics will know that Morse is also known in the universe as her alter ego, Mockingbird. While she didn't appear as Mockingbird in the latest episode, people were wondering how long they'd have to wait to see the Mockingbird costume.

Adrianne Palicki gets recruited for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

ABC answered that question quickly when they revealed photos of Palicki in her Mockingbird gear and we have to say: We approve! Why can't a hero wear a costume that is as practical as it is sexy? Mockingbird's costume makes her look like she's ready for a fight — and she won't have to keep adjusting her clothes while she does it.

It's also very similar to some of the other ladies' costumes on the show, which are also ready-to-fight. Just take a look at Agent Melinda May's (Ming-Na Wen) ensemble.

In fact, it's interesting to note that the ladies' costumes aren't too dissimilar from the guys' costumes. Just look at Arrow's (Stephen Amell) costume. Does this look like a man who worries about body parts not being covered properly during a fight?

Then, there is the Arrow's new sidekick, Arsenal (Colton Haynes). Sure, his costume is just as tight as the others, but it looks like it moves with him, rather than against him.

Finally, there is the newest superhero on the block, The Flash (Grant Gustin). His costume is another example of form meeting fashion.

Meet the man who rescued over 900 dogs and 600 cats

Delta Rescue founder Leo Grillo and Lazarus

Of all the animal shelters in the world, there is none like Leo Grillo’s D.E.L.T.A. Rescue Sanctuary. Founded in 1979, the non-profit organization, which is an acronym for Dedication and Everlasting Love to Animals, is located in Acton, California, on over 115 acres of land. “It houses over 1,500 dogs and cats, plus a few dozen horses, pigs and goats,” says Grillo, who rescued every animal after it had been abandoned in the wilderness. “The animal sanctuary also houses a state-of-the-art pet hospital, so that every animal gets life-long care regardless of their health conditions.”

D.E.L.T.A. wasn’t a childhood dream come true

You’d think that an animal sanctuary of this magnitude would have been the result of a childhood fantasy of being the world’s greatest animal rescue pioneer, but it was far from that. In the late 1970s, Grillo was living out his plan to be a movie actor, residing in Hollywood with his three black cats. “I wasn’t at all inspired to just start up an animal shelter, but I had been having a dream about a black dog who would change my life,” he explains. “I was driving to Bakersfield and saw this black dog wandering off the side of the road and it was the dog in my dream.” Grillo rescued the dog, a Doberman mix, and named him Delta, the Greek symbol for change, as in “change my life.” Within a year, Grillo rescued 35 more dogs, and his passion to take care of abandoned animals was born.

Dogs and cats that are just dumped to die get a new life

Grillo’s heart was broken every time he found a dog or cat (and often their litters of babies) dumped to die in the local wilderness areas. He’d rescue them and work to get them re-homed. However, he couldn’t ignore the fact that so many dogs and cats were returned to shelters from adoptive homes or, worse, the fact that many shelters simply euthanized the animals. Over time and with many generous donors, the D.E.L.T.A. Sanctuary has become the pet haven that every abandoned cat or dog would love to call home. It has dog neighborhoods. It has safe cat spaces, each called a cattery. At D.E.L.T.A., every canine and feline gets a name and is treated with love as much as any home-adopted pet would have.

Dogs have mates for life

With 1,500 animals at the sanctuary, we had to ask Grillo how he manages the 900 dogs. Many rescue dogs are traumatized and have issues with people and other dogs. How can you keep all these formerly abandoned and abused dogs together? “We assess our dogs and expertly match a female and male dog — so they are essentially married — then they get their very own home and yard in a neighborhood of other canine couples,” says Grillo. “We do have dogs who are single, but our goal is to give them a lifelong mate, if their temperament permits it.” Grillo wants to give every animal at D.E.L.T.A. a safe, secure and loving home for as long as they live.

D.E.L.T.A. is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, but don’t expect an extravagant commemoration from Grillo. He’s too busy hand-raising a few litters of kittens. “I was laying down with my newest kittens crawling all over me, with their cute little faces and tails, and I realized that this is the best anniversary gift — being able to look back and see that I am doing the same thing that I was doing when I started D.E.L.T.A., and I am still just as passionate about rescuing animals,” he happily explains.

Looking into the future

Grillo is committed to keeping D.E.L.T.A. a top-rate sanctuary for his animals and has two daughters to help him do it. “My daughters, Erica and Meg, are an important part of this organization, and I am giving them a foundation to take D.E.L.T.A. to the next level,” says Grillo. “I would also like to build another facility using all the knowledge and experience I’ve gained building D.E.L.T.A. into the animal sanctuary it is.”

Though you can’t just stop over at the D.E.L.T.A. Sanctuary for a visit (the exact location is under wraps, and the facility is protected with armed security), you can learn more about it and its furry friends by visiting deltarescue.org. You can also make a donation to help take care of these animals that would otherwise have been killed or starved to death out in the wilderness areas of Southern California.

Healthy vs. unhealthy ways to help your child in school

How and when you involve yourself in your student's academic life can lead to drastically different outcomes. Here are three situation-specific examples of healthy and unhealthy parent involvement for your consideration.

Homework assignments and projects

Healthy: Homework, regardless of grade and subject, is an opportunity for a parent to serve as a guide. Wise parents assist their students, and they provide emotional support consistently. They review answers, and they help their children clarify their understanding of concepts and procedures. They also allow their students to retain control of the experience.

Unhealthy: When a parent completes all or part of her child's homework, she robs her student of a learning opportunity. Unhealthy parent involvement may include providing an answer to a distressed, struggling child (with no supplementary explanation), or finishing a project to avoid a poor mark, even if you do so with your student’s best interests in mind.

Classroom conflicts

Healthy: A standard classroom involves about two dozen (or more) personalities in close contact. Conflict, whether with a fellow child or the teacher, is unfortunately possible. If it occurs, calm parents seek all participants' perspectives, and they remember that no student, even their own, is without occasional fault. These parents advocate for their children, but not at the expense of reason.

Unhealthy: In this instance, unhealthy parent involvement involves extreme reactions. A parent may refuse to acknowledge her student's contribution to a situation, or she may blame others (such as an instructor) for her child's behavior. Meaningful education requires cooperation between parent, student and teacher, especially during unpleasant moments.

Motivation and pressure

Healthy: Certain children easily adapt to intrinsic motivation, while others benefit from a gentle nudge now and again. Parents may encourage their students to study for 30 minutes more or to practice their musical instruments even though they are tired. However, parents also take care to permit children to follow their academic and extracurricular interests.

Unhealthy: Students can often become overwhelmed as a result of unhealthy parent involvement. Children may feel pressured to participate in too many activities, or they may feel disheartened by unreasonably high expectations. While all students respond differently to external motivation, too much pressure can have an opposite, negative effect.

These three categories touch upon just a fraction of the scenarios that are influenced, for better or for worse, by healthy and unhealthy parent involvement. Like education, parenting is an ongoing process. As your child progresses through her schooling, keep this information in mind and adjust as necessary. It is never too late to alter your practices, whether that means eliminating an ineffective strategy or augmenting your parenting with other great ideas. Good luck now and in the future.
