10 Reasons your baby needs its own FB account

$

0

This is all true, but I think I’ve hatched a better plan. I even put this plan into action, and it would have worked out great too — if Facebook hadn’t caught me.

Before my first son was born, we created his own Facebook account for him. We just wanted our friends to opt in to see tons and tons of sonogram pictures, newborn pictures and endless spitting up, rolling over and walking videos. Things were going great and my unborn son even had a few friends, until my husband tried to insert his actual birth date into the account. Obviously, Facebook was not pleased with the fact that a user was 0 years old, so the account was deleted.

I understand the need for these security precautions to protect minors. Still, I wish there was some way around it because I really believe a Facebook account for a baby can be a wonderful thing. Here are 10 reasons why:

1. Stop annoying your friends and family

Seriously, the biggest benefit of your baby’s Facebook account is for those who claim to love you. They want to see one picture, not 10. It’s the perfect compromise.

2. Have insta-friends

What baby doesn’t want to be born with a group of online acquaintances?

 3. Start a new trend

I’m positive that all babies are going to have social media accounts by 2020. Don’t you want your nugget to be the first?

4. Maintain separate identities

Your friends can remember what you look like when you actually share pictures of yourself on your newsfeed.

5. No more disgusting parent overshares

You can talk about poop texture and color as much as you want — on your baby’s Facebook account.

6. No more mom-petition

Mom competition on Facebook is fierce. Squash it once and for all with a separate baby account.

7. Your baby can learn to tag pictures

Every kid is going to need to learn this life skill by the time they hit elementary school. Start ‘em young, I always say.

8. Mommyjack a thread as much as you want

As long as it’s among close friends and family on your baby’s Facebook wall.

9. Talk in the voice of your baby

This is irresistible and really annoying, but you definitely should do it. Post silly status updates on your baby’s feed, like, “Up all night partying in my crib. Can’t believe how tired I am today. #babylife”

10. Upload all your baby pictures in one place

Every parent has one thousand backup pictures to the one they crop and post on Facebook. Now you can spam the shit out of your baby’s Facebook feed because that’s what it’s there for. Go nuts.

Breastfeeding can turn you on, and that's all right

$

I mean really, a mother could go from feeding her baby to messing around in the bedroom in the span of minutes, so how weird is it that one act is so sexual and the other so not?

Well, as it turns out, they may not be as separate as I thought.

Most of us think that breastfeeding can wreak havoc on a couple's love life. With all of the hormones that cause the milk to flow, namely oxytocin and prolactin, a woman's sex drive is physically diminished and her "pleasure center" in the brain, the one that causes her to feel all content and at peace, is activated through breastfeeding, so emotionally, she feels fulfilled by caring for her baby. Basically, in a nutshell, nature doesn't need a woman feeding a baby to get pregnant, so the hormonal side of her body doesn't help her want to jump in the sack. Mom + baby = we're good, so leave us alone, Dad.

But, there's another side to the story, and it's one that doesn't get told as often. For some women, breastfeeding itself can be a turn-on.

Arousal during breastfeeding is rare, but it does happen and one study theorized that women can get turned on during breastfeeding just as they would with sexual foreplay because the two acts have similarities, such as:

  • Nipple erection occurs in both breastfeeding and normal sexual arousal.
  • The breasts get handled and nipples get stimulated with both.
  • Both experiences involve skin-to-skin contact.
  • Oxytocin can cause uterine contractions, similar to post-orgasm and milk let-down in both experiences.

Other theories include the fact that breastfeeding is a deeply sensual act that can cause a woman to feel powerful in her body and connected to her sexuality in a whole new way. Or, it may come down to more chemical reactions. "When you think about the hormones involved in lactation, it does make sense that having sensations of arousal could in fact be quite possible," says lactation consultant Jana Stockham of NuuNest. "Oxytocin is probably the culprit — this 'feel good' hormone is released when you experience an orgasm."

With all this in mind, know that if you are a woman who has ever noticed a strange sensation while breastfeeding, fear not — you're not the majority, but you're not a complete weirdo. And, if it makes you feel any better, Jana points out that it is important to note that women realize that the physical sensation is separate from any emotional feelings toward the baby. "How their body reacts to this stimulation when it involves the baby is nothing to be ashamed about, but probably a more common occurrence than we are aware, as it may be an awkward topic," she says.

And for those of you currently lactating? I apologize for the awkwardness I have probably caused you when you go to feed your baby today. But you never know — you and your partner may be thanking me later, if you get my drift.

7 Reasons Jennifer Lopez shouldn't feel ashamed about her love life

Penélope Cruz lands "Sexiest Woman Alive"

Speaking to British newspaper, the Mirror, Lopez opened up about her love life, saying, "My friends are constantly trying to set me up but I'm just not there right now. It's not something that's a priority. I have gone from relationship to relationship but, at the end of the day, I am not ashamed of the path I have taken or the lessons I have learned.

"I do what feels right in the moment. And right now it feels good to just be on my own and have some 'I love Jennifer' time, which I haven't done a lot in my life," she explained.

Here are the reasons why Jennifer Lopez shouldn't ever be made to feel ashamed:

1. We all want to be loved

We all want to be loved and Lopez is no different, and as she explained to the Mirror, "I am who I am and I am human."

2. She's brave

It takes courage to walk away from a marriage and, even though Lopez has had her heart smashed into a million tiny pieces before, she's strong enough to put it back together again and not give up on love. And for that, we applaud her.

Diddy on Jennifer Lopez's booty: "It's a work of art"

3. She doesn't settle for second best

Lopez doesn't stay in a relationship just because it's convenient and she's not willing to sacrifice her happiness. Divorce is a traumatic ordeal and no one wants to go through it once, least of all three times, but it takes an independent, self-confident woman to be able to extricate herself from an unhappy marriage. She wants more and she deserves it — we all do!

4. She's happy on her own

As the "Booty" singer explained in her recent interview with the Mirror, dating right now is not a priority and she's enjoying being single and having "Jennifer time." Lopez doesn't care if she's alone and she realizes that she has friends and family who love her and, most importantly, she loves herself.

5. She's focused on being a good mom

Lopez revealed to the Mirror that her twins, Max and Emme, are her main priority in her life right now and she does her very best to make sure that they feel loved.

"I am just spending time with myself and my kids. I still believe in love, of course, but the thing you think about most is who is good enough to come into the life of me and the kids?" she explained to the publication. "You just want the kids to know they are loved, that's the most important thing. Being a mother is my number one priority."

6. She can have unlimited girl time

Jennifer Lopez has plenty of girlfriends in her life and, now that she's single, she can do whatever she wants, stay out with friends until 2 a.m. and hit exotic beach destinations without feeling guilty about checking in with anyone first.

Cris Judd says his wedding to Jennifer Lopez was a circus

7. She doesn't have to deal with in-laws

OK, it's not really a reason to not feel ashamed, and we're not saying that all in-laws are super annoying... but let's face it, most are! But the The Back-up Plan actress doesn't have to hang out with any of hers. She only has one family and, therefore, limited family drama.

Pizzas like this balsamic vinegar, spicy Thai curry and crispy tofu are the kinds of pies I love to eat (and make at home, much to my husband's dismay). These are the perfect rustic pizzas for fall enjoyment, since they use mostly autumn vegetables (and a whole lot of 'em). Let your pie-eating commence!

Arugula and balsamic vinegar pizza recipe

arugula balsamic pizza

Who needs meat when you have balsamic vinegar? This amazing pizza will instantly be a favorite with your family.

Serves 8-10

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 22 minutes | Total time: 32 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch pizza dough (use this easy recipe or your favorite)
  • 2-4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can diced or crushed tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped basil
  • 6 ounces sliced fresh mozzarella
  • 1 large heirloom tomato, sliced
  • 1 cup baby arugula
  • 2-4 tablespoons high-quality balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Prepare the crust according to the directions. Using a floured rolling pin, roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch in thickness. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F, and dust a pizza stone with cornmeal.
  2. To make the sauce, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the onions and garlic, and cook until just softened, about 3 to 4 minutes. Add in the tomatoes, reduce the heat to low, and let simmer until slightly thickened, about 15 minutes. Stir in the salt, pepper and crushed red pepper. Mix in the chopped basil.
  3. Remove from heat, and spread the sauce over the pizza crust to liberally coat. Bake for about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from the oven, and place the mozzarella on top of the sauce. Add the slices of tomato on top of the cheese. Bake for about 8 more minutes or until the cheese has melted and the crust is golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle the top liberally with arugula. Drizzle the balsamic vinegar over the pizza, and slice it into pieces. Serve immediately with cracked pepper and Parmesan cheese.

Spicy Thai curry vegetable pizza recipe

Thai vegetable pizza

This pizza combines all your favorite Thai curry flavors into a cheesy pizza bite! The best part is you can sub in your favorite vegetables for the ones listed.

Serves 8-10

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 46 minutes | Total time: 56 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch pizza dough (use this easy recipe or your favorite)
  • 1/2 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 8 Brussels sprouts
  • 1 cup cubed butternut squash
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 3 whole garlic cloves
  • 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Thai seasoning
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk, cold
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons Thai red curry paste
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil. Carefully spread the cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, butternut squash, carrots, onions and garlic over the sheet. Drizzle with olive oil, and then sprinkle with Thai seasoning.
  2. Roast for about 20 minutes, remove to toss the vegetables so they cook evenly, and then roast another 10 to 15 minutes or until browned and soft. Remove from the oven.
  3. Once the vegetables have cooled slightly, chop the carrots and Brussels sprouts.
  4. While the vegetables are roasting, make the pizza sauce. Open the coconut milk, remove the cream from the top, and pour into a bowl. Add about 1 teaspoon of the liquid to the bowl. Mix in the curry paste and the tomato, fish, Sriracha and soy sauces with a whisk until combined. Add additional spice to taste.
  5. Roll the pizza dough out into a large rectangle. Spread the sauce over the pizza dough, leaving a border along the edges for crust. Top the sauce with 1-1/2 cups of the cheese. Liberally add the vegetables on top of the cheese, making sure they are spread out. Cover with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake for about 16 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese has melted. Add the cilantro, some salt and pepper, and serve.

Crispy tofu and kale pizza recipe

Tofu and kale pizza

The crispy tofu on this pizza gives the perfect textural contrast and adds a great Asian flavor to the entire dish. If you want, you can skip the sauces and just bake the tofu with a dash of salt and pepper.

Serves 8-10

Prep time: 10 minutes | Cook time: 40-50 minutes | Total time: 50-60 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 batch pizza dough (use this easy recipe or your favorite)
  • 1 (14 ounce) package extra-firm tofu, pressed
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 cups kale
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1-1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil, and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into cubes, and spread them over the baking sheet. In a bowl, mix together the hoisin, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Pour over the tofu.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes, remove to carefully stir and flip the tofu, and then bake for another 30 to 35 minutes or until browned and crispy. Remove from the oven.
  4. While the tofu is baking, in a skillet over medium heat, heat 1-1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the onions, and cook for about 2 minutes or until they just start to soften. Add the garlic and mushrooms. Cook for about 4 to 6 minutes or until the vegetables are softened. Remove from heat. To the same pan, add the remaining olive oil. Add in the kale, and cook for about 5 to 6 minutes, stirring constantly, until the kale is slightly wilted. Remove from heat.
  5. Roll the pizza dough out to either 2 medium-size pies or 1 large one. Spread with tomato sauce, leaving a border along the edges for the crust. Top with 1 cup of cheese. Sprinkle with the tofu, onions, garlic and the mushroom mixture. Add the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese and some salt and pepper, to taste.
  6. Place the pizza onto a cornmeal-dusted pizza pan, and bake for about 14 to 16 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Remove from the oven, and top with the wilted kale.

Joshua Jackson explains why he won't marry Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger's mom is tough on boyfriend Joshua Jackson

Jackson spoke with Glamour about why he and Kruger haven't yet tied the knot and the answer is somewhat surprising.

"I can tell you why we're not married: We're not religious. I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party," Jackson said. "We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person. But it may change at some point. We may get married."

Jackson's feelings on marriage aren't a passing fad — he shared the same sentiments with Us Weekly back in 2012, saying, "Marriage is important for the people it's important for, but neither one of us is particularly religious, so I don't think there's any particular push. But never say never! I don't know."

Kruger has been married in the past — to actor Guillaume Canet. She was divorced just before she and Jackson began dating and said she no longer believes marriage is important.

"I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There's no paper that will make you stay," she explained back in 2011.

Where are they now? Katie Holmes and the cast of Dawson's Creek

Jackson and Kruger seem completely committed to each other and Jackson said he would love to be a father someday soon — so, don't be surprised if there is a much bigger commitment on its way sometime soon.

First look at Paul Rudd as Ant-Man: Will he steal Chris Pratt's superhero thunder?

The Royals advanced to the World Series after beating the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday, Oct. 15 and Rudd was out celebrating with all his fellow fans. The actor spoke with TV station, KMBC, after the game.

"Party at my mom's, man," Rudd joked, according to People. "She's out of town. I've got a keg. It's going to be sweet! Five dollar cover!"

Rudd is actually a Kansas City native and seems to be as big a fan now as when he was growing up. He explained what the win meant for the city.

"I know for the last several years, every year, all of us Royals fans, we've had the same hope," Rudd said. "When we went on that win streak this summer, it was like, 'This could legitimately happen.'"

VIDEO: Does Paul Rudd rule the Jimmy Fallon lip-synch battles?

"I've lost my voice, but I've lost my voice at just about every game since the Wild Card," he added. "[The game] was amazing. This entire town feels it."

Even the Royals got in on the Paul Rudd excitement — by tweeting out a photo of him.

Even though Rudd didn't need permission from his mom to attend the game, he did have to get a pass from his Marvel bosses. The actor is currently filming Ant-Man and was allowed to leave the set for the momentous win.

Although it appears he was joking with the party invite, his mom may not be happy about it.

Jimmy Fallon shares the secrets to his success

B-boys Brad Pitt and Jimmy Fallon have their own secret language (VIDEO)

Fallon spoke with Men's Journal, explaining that his dad would tape Saturday Night Live when he was a kid, "skipping over the dirty bits." He and his sister, Gloria, would act out skits. The tradition may have led him into comedy.

Fallon joined SNL himself years later and was soon one of the biggest stars on the show. But making it on the show wasn't something he always had confidence in. He said when he first performed for Lorne Michaels, in 1997, "I just bombed. I could tell. My manager could tell. This might have been my lowest point ever." However, it was only a year later that Michaels came to see him again and he gained a lifelong fan.

Taking over The Tonight Show was a big moment for him and he gained a surprise fan in the process.

"Jimmy gets it," former Tonight Show host, Jay Leno, said. "Jimmy is a comic. He's not a comedy writer. He worked little crappy clubs, dragging the guitar around and having drunks throw shit at you. And that's why he and I have a bit of a bond. It's almost a father-son kind of thing."

Justin Timberlake proves his device is bigger than Jimmy Fallon's (VIDEO)

"Most people in show business think they know everything," Leno added. "They don't really listen to the other person. They just wait for the other person to stop talking. Respectful is the best word I can use for Jimmy."

Fallon has also shaken things up since taking over The Tonight Show. Eighteen years before he took over, Johnny Carson banned Joan Rivers — but it was Fallon who ended that ban. He said, "No one's banned anymore. This is such a silly thing."

Police in Auburn, Washington, believe a body found near the White River could be that of the SAG Award-nominated actress, who has been missing since Oct. 6. Authorities haven't positively identified the body yet, but they posted this update to their Facebook page today:

"Official statement regarding the recovery of a found body in Auburn: At approximately 1pm this afternoon, the Auburn Police Department received a call that a body had been found in a wooded area near Forest Ridge Dr. in Auburn. The body was found at the bottom of a 150 embankment near the White River.

"The body was recovered by a family member of Misty Upham's family who was in the area searching for her.

"A purse containing identification of Misty Upham was at the scene, however, at this time the medical examiner has not made a positive identification nor a determination of cause of death.

"Auburn Police and Valley Regional Fire Authority are on scene attempting to recover the body."

Upham was last seen leaving her sister's apartment on Oct. 5, E! News reports. Her father released a statement the next day, right after he reported her missing. In his statement, Upham's father said the actress suffers from mental illness. He didn't go into detail then, but later revealed Upham's struggles with depression and panic attacks.

Modern Family actress Elizabeth Peña dead at 55

"The truth is Misty is not stressed over money or career. Her career is going great," he wrote in a statement posted to Upham's Facebook page. "As her father I do not fear she committed suicide. I feel that she has been hurt by accident or someone has put her in harm's way. Misty has suffered from mental illness most of her life. With the help of her medical team and family support she is able to manage it well."

Corbin Bleu, on the other hand, is still a Mouseketeer to the max.

The High School Musical star popped the question to his longtime girlfriend — and fellow Disney actor — Sasha Clements, who appeared on the Disney Channel original movie, How to Build a Better Boy. And where did he decide to drop to one knee? Disney World, of course.

Disney World's Instagram account broke the news with a picture of the adorable new husband-and-wife-to-be in front of Cinderella's Castle, an iconic locale inside the park.

And Bleu followed suit, posting a picture of his fiancée's gorgeous new rock — with the castle in the background, of course — to his Instagram, captioned, "She said yes!"

X Factor star calls out Taylor Swift: Stop writing about Harry Styles

Taylor Swift won't be singing any songs about heartache anytime soon

"Out of the Woods" is a song that is likely about an ex, and it sounds like it could very possibly be about Harry Styles.

British X Factor star, Olly Murs, has a few choice words about Swift's songwriting style and especially about her relationship with Harry Styles, which ended years ago.

"Come on [Taylor], let it go. Write something new that isn't about Harry," said Olly Murs, according to the Mirror. "Bless him, it's been like two years and he's still getting lashed out isn't he?"

To be fair, the song could also be about a few of Swift's friendships. However, it likely is Styles since he and Swift actually dated twice — which fits with the song. But Swift has a track record of writing about former beaus — including John Mayer, Taylor Lautner, Jake Gyllenhaal and even Harry Styles.

She recently talked about the second single from her new album and what it means to her.

Kristen Stewart and 5 other surprising celeb comments on feminism

"The song is about fragility and kind of breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of living day to day, wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day," she explained in a YouTube interview. "It was a relationship where you kind of never feel like you're standing on a solid ground. And that kind of feeling brings on excitement, but also extreme anxiety and kind of a frantic feeling of wondering. Endless questions."

For his part, Harry Styles has yet to comment on the song.

Nightcrawler made Jake Gyllenhaal slim down in an unhealthy way

4 Times Jake Gyllenhaal gives us the creeps in the Nightcrawler trailer

When he signed on for his upcoming thriller, Nightcrawler, Gyllenhaal learned he'd need to shed nearly 30 pounds in order to fit the character, shady paparazzo, Lou Bloom. And let's keep in mind, Gyllenhaal didn't exactly have a lot of extra weight on him before.

But it's how Gyllenhaal chose to lose the weight that has us all shaking our heads. The actor revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he dumped everything in his diet and lived on kale salad and chewing gum — definitely not dietitian recommended. And combine that serious calorie deficit with an intense exercise regimen and you're looking at some decidedly unhealthy weight loss.

"I made a lot of choices physically," he said, adding that he ran 15 miles each day between his Hollywood home and the set where the movie was being filmed.

Did Taylor Swift lose her virginity to Jake Gyllenhaal?

"The running thing, you're pretty hungry because you're not eating a lot of food," he added, and went on to say that his poor health choices had a negative impact on his social life, as well. "You're lonely because you're not meeting your friends for dinner. People go, 'Hey you want to meet for dinner after work?' I go, 'Well, I'm shooting all night.' 'All right, you want to meet for lunch?' I'm like, 'I can't!' So I'm gonna go run."

Gyllenhaal later revealed to People that he realizes now that his choices about his health could have been really dangerous. Now that filming has wrapped up and he's had a chance to reflect, he admits he didn't realize at the time what a toll his unhealthy weight loss would take.

Does serial womanizer Jake Gyllenhaal have a new lady?

"I don't think I was aware," he said. "I don't think I was aware until a few months ago and we were going through all the cuts, and you start to separate from the character and go 'Wow,' you know?"

The current season is in full swing and already Demon Dean has won my heart, much as I predicted he would. He's more complicated beast than I expected him to be — more angst and less party animal — but I am still getting a big kick out of seeing what Ackles is doing with the character.

The top 7 versions of Supernatural's Sam Winchester

In addition to making me happy on screen, Ackles has also been impressing me with his talent behind the camera, as well. The upcoming episode, "Soul Survivor," marks Ackles' fourth time in the director's chair for the series. The emotional level of the episode promises a lot of angst for fans and probably made for quite the challenge for its director.

How will it compare to Ackles' other trips to the director's chair? I decided to take a look back at his first three directing gigs and see how each one was better than the last.

"Weekend at Bobby's" (2010) — Season 6 Episode 4

This episode was one of my favorite Bobby episodes ever and I think it was the perfect one for Ackles to tackle for the first time. I'm sure it helped that Dean (and, therefore, Ackles) appeared in the episode hardly at all, but it was also just a good, fun romp into the life of the Winchesters' adopted dad. The show has always had great humor, but the feeling of this episode was different enough for you to realize that there was another hand guiding the action this time.

"The Girl Next Door" (2011) — Season 7 Episode 3

Whereas Ackles' first episode as director was lighter, his second time dealt with more emotional issues when Sam went off on a hunt and discovered a woman he met when he was a kid. According to The Winchester Handbook, she was a monster and that meant certain death, but Sam wanted to give her a chance. Ackles really turned on the angst when Dean allowed Sam to think he agreed with his younger brother's plan, but ultimately, took matters into his own hands and killed Amy himself.

Supernatural sneak peek: Why so bloody, Sammy?

"Heartache" (2012) — Season 8 Episode 3

In each episode that Ackles directs, I've noticed that he seems to take on scripts that are more and more difficult. He started out with a light episode, moved on to a heavier one and, in this episode, it seemed his challenge was adding more Dean. I can't imagine how hard it must be to direct an episode while acting in it, but Ackles handled it very well. This episode saw Dean ready to jump back into hunting after his escape from Purgatory and it felt like Ackles was as ready to jump into a more difficult directing gig.

By all accounts, Ackles will again be upping the ante with his next directing job. According to the episode synopsis for "Soul Survivor," Sam will continue to try and save Dean from the Mark of Cain, which indicates to me that we are going to see a lot of scenes between Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean. Chances are, those scenes are going to crank the angst up to around 11, so I'm guessing Ackles found the upcoming episode incredibly challenging to shoot.

Sam is looking stressed. Something tells me Demon Dean is not going to back down anytime soon.

Baz Luhrmann is rooting for Lindsay Lohan

Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet, The Great Gatsby... everything he creates is visually stunning. His latest short film, Chanel No. 5: The One That I Want, is no exception. Tom Brady's leading lady, Gisele Bündchen, serves as Luhrmann's muse in the short, which certainly doesn't hurt.

But did you catch the fact that Chanel is in the title of the film? We sure did. After viewing the artful piece, which includes a heartbreaking rendition of "You're The One That I Want," of Grease fame, we think there might be a little bit of subliminal messaging going on. OK, maybe it's not so subliminal. We found the word "Chanel," the Chanel logo and the number "5" slipped into the three-minute, 16-second piece a total of 74 times. Don't believe us? We've got all the screenshots for proof.

We thought about creating some kind of drinking game using the film, but judging by the number of times the label gets dropped, we thought it would be in everyone's best interest that we didn't.

Disney has a new movie and we're freaking out over it's main character

Meet Winston. He's the doggy star of a new animated short from Disney called Feast. Clearly, Winston loves to eat, because that's practically all he does in the film's trailer. Doesn't this pooch know he's not supposed to eat people food, no matter how good it tastes?

New sketches show that if Disney characters were human, they'd all be white

Winston is first tantalized by a frenchfry — who isn't, right? He sees the lonely fried spud under the dinner table at what is most likely a restaurant. Then, a man in black sneakers gives him another french fry and spoils him even further with a little scratch under the chin.

Next, we see quick shots of Winston being fed spaghetti on top of his dog food and, if that's not enough human cuisine for one mutt, he's fed pizza, nachos, more pizza and then sliced ham, all before eating more pasta. Just before he's about to get a massive bout of indigestion, something green catches Winston's eye.

Is the green leafy thing a sprig of parsley, perhaps? Maybe a stem of cilantro? Whatever it is, Winston changes gears and doesn't eat it. Instead, he carefully carries it in his mouth and races out of the restaurant where he's been pigging out.

We hope dystopian films are done now that Tomorrowland is here

Whatever the green twig is, it seems to hold the key to Winston's happiness and helps him stop bingeing on Italian food.

Feast was created by the same animators who did 2012's Paperman, which was the first animated short film produced by Disney Animation Studios to win an Academy Award since 1970.

Bruce is reportedly dating Kris Jenner's longtime friend, Ronda Kamihira, People reports.

Wait, is that Kris Jenner? Bruce Jenner spotted with a look-alike

So, who is the new lady in Bruce's life, and what do we know about her?

1. Kris and Ronda were friends for over two decades

Ms. Kamihira was not only Kris Jenner's BFF for more than 20 years, she's also her former assistant.

2. Their kids grew up together

A source revealed to People magazine that Kamihira's children grew up with Kendall and Kylie, and they are good friends — there's also a few cute pics of them on Instagram.

3. Unlike Kris, Ronda doesn't post loads of photos of herself on Instagram...

Kamihira bears a striking resemblance to Kris Jenner, with her dark skin, dark cropped hair and pretty features — we'll say Bruce definitely has a type. Just look at this shot of Kamihira in "Magic Mexico," as she captioned it. However, unlike Kris, it's rare that Miss Ronda posts any pictures of herself at all to social media.Bruce Jenner's rumored new girlfriend looks like Kris Jenner

4. ...Unless they're of golf

She's a woman who loves golf, and this is a major plus for Bruce. Does this mean that after the split, Kamihira was out having golf escapades with her best friend's ex-husband, consoling him and trying to mend his broken heart? How thoughtful!

5. She's a dog lover

If you take one look at Kamihira's Instagram page, you will see plenty of pictures of an adorable little white pooch. Awww!

6. She's not a vegan

OK, we're verging on becoming stalkers. But judging from this picture of Kamihira's breakfast feast of eggs benedict (which her daughters made for her), she ain't no vegan.

Kamihira captioned the pic, "Thank you @spencerjohnson and @maddyjohnsonn for the delicious eggs Benedict #breakfast in bed #bestdaughtersever #littlechefs !!! Love you"

 7. She's been on vacation to Mexico with Kris

The pair have even enjoyed a holiday together, and according to People, they jetted off to the Punta Mita compound owned by the Kardashians' family friend Joe Francis (the very same private retreat Kim Kardashian is always taking selfies from).

8. She is the mystery woman

Kamihira was the mystery woman spotted with Bruce, his son Brandon and his daughter-in-law Leah at the Elton John concert in Los Angeles.

So there you have it. Things between Kris and Bruce have been really amicable so far, but apparently, the Kardashian momager is completely heartbroken at the news that her ex-husband is dating her bestie.

Is Kendall Jenner tired of her family & moving out ASAP?

"Kris is devastated," a source told People. "This was her former assistant and best friend of 20 years." The source added that Kris "is just shocked" by the news. "She's so sad and completely heartbroken."

So how is Kris dealing with this news? Judging by her Twitter account, she's enjoying some retail therapy!

Neil Patrick Harris has some things to figure out before hosting the Oscars

And when we say he's wasting no time, we mean the deal was just agreed upon on at the beginning of the week, according to Harris, who spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the gig.

6 GIFs that prove Neil Patrick Harris is the Oscars host of our dreams

In fact, it happened so quickly that the actor admitted he still has a few questions before he really dives into his plans for the show.

"I have a lot of questions still about that job," he admitted.

"I've gotten to be the kind of co-producer of the Emmys while I was hosting, and the Tonys since I've done that a number of times," Harris explained. "I'm aware of more things than just the hosting spots... The Oscars is such a gigantic show that I was interested to know how my involvement would play out."

"It seems like with that many eyes and that big of a show, there are a lot of people that have to say yes before something gets approved. And as it turns out, that's not really the case."

Neil Patrick Harris reveals the man who cemented his gayness

As Harris and EW editor Matt Bean point out at the beginning of the interview, it's been a busy week for Harris. His twins celebrated their birthday, his book was just released, his movie Gone Girl is No. 1 in the country and he was just announced as the 2015 Oscars host. It's safe to say that Harris is as close to the entertainment king of the world as they come.

Harris summed it up nicely in his interview: "It's been epic."

Though Harris just confirmed his hosting gig, he's already started thinking about his plans for the show.

"I know what I want them not to be," Harris said of the Oscars. Is he perhaps thinking about James Franco and Anne Hathaway à la the 2011 Oscars?

Actually, Harris is more concerned about his own performance and making it unique compared to the other award shows he's hosted. "I don't want them to be super derivative of other shows I've done. I don't want it to seem like I'm doing the same hosting gig as the Tonys."

Neil Patrick Harris's kids were the real reason he got married

It's clear Harris is taking the role seriously but, of course, he's also having fun with the job, as his announcement yesterday proved.

"We wanted to come up with a clever way to announce it, which we did on social media," the actor explained.

Harris was definitely clever. In the video posted online, he shared his bucket list with the final item as "host the Oscars," which he gracefully marks as accomplished. Well, let's not get ahead of ourselves. The show doesn't air until Feb. 22, 2015. Don't worry, we'll knock on some wood for you, NPH.

DWTS' Michael Waltrip has a 'little secret' about Alfonso Ribeiro

As the first NASCAR representative to do the show, Waltrip realized he had a monumental task ahead of him. He shared, "I hung up the phone with ABC and thought, 'Aw, darn, I don't know how to dance.'"

Every hypnotizing GIF of the Carlton dance you'll ever need (VIDEO)

Waltrip turned to friend and Season 17 contestant Bill Engvall, who encouraged him along the way. He even sought out a bit of advice from Season 18 competitor and fellow Toyota Racing spokesperson Amy Purdy. They both shared their experiences with him.

Now that he's firmly planted in his journey, the judges haven't been easy on him. Waltrip has handled the criticism with aplomb, though.

He explained, "When [the dance is] over, and if the judges aren't happy with it, then you have to say, 'Well, I had fun and I enjoyed being out there. By gosh, the negative opinion you had about my dance isn't going to ruin the fun I had.' You can call it criticism; I don't think that's the right word. I think they're just trying to tell you what to do better and how to do it better. I look at as a chance to learn and a chance to grow."

INTERVIEW: Lea Thompson's really nervous about getting voted off DWTS — but why?

One moment he did appreciate during Week 5's episode was guest judge Jessie J, who called it like she saw it.

"My favorite was Jessie J, though. She just said, 'It was consistent. You didn't do terrible, you didn't do great. It was consistent.' And then Tom [Bergeron] said right after, 'So you're saying it happened.'" I don't care who you are, that's just good TV," laughed Waltrip.

His pro dance partner, Emma Slater, has been with him every step of the way, and Waltrip said he appreciates her work in the rehearsal studio. The NASCAR team owner explained, "The thing I love about her most is when she thinks I should get something and I haven't gotten it yet. She's very stern, or at least as stern as she can get with me. Emma will take it personally if I don't do well because she will think that she didn't give me all of the information I need to be successful."

Another special moment was having his daughter, Margaret, in the audience during his favorite dance so far this season.

"Emma and I's waltz has been my favorite. I thought that dance went really well, and it was my daughter's 17th birthday that Monday. She got on a plane and flew all the way to LA to watch me dance. Doing that dance in a way that my daughter was proud of me and wanted to hug me, that meant the world to me as well," he said.

INTERVIEW: Erin Andrews reveals the secret weapon Tom Bergeron is hiding from DWTS fans

As for the other competitors, Waltrip loves joking about frontrunner Alfonso Ribeiro, who has killed it on the dance floor recently with the Carlton dance and a flamenco piece.

Waltrip let us in on a little secret about the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star. "If it came right down to a dance-off between me and Alfonso, I'm going ahead and clue you in on a little secret," Waltrip said. "I prefer you don't tell anyone this: He can probably dance better than me. That's our secret, right?"

In the meantime, Waltrip will be racing on Sunday in Talladega, Alabama, for a good cause, National AFib Awareness Month, in association with Janssen Pharmaceuticals. The company donated more than $50,000 on Friday to the American Heart Association. However, this race is personal to Waltrip because his mother had an atrial fibrillation-related stroke 25 years ago.

Fans have been able to read about his mom's story and have their photos uploaded to his No. 66 Toyota Camry through the website MyAFibStory.com.

Waltrip said, "I'm looking forward to racing my car on Sunday afternoon. I think it's pretty cool to be able to say I came to Talladega and raced my mom's car."

He's also hoping to take his dancing partner on a ride around the racetrack soon. However, Waltrip and Slater's next big challenge is Monday, when they take on the Argentine tango and try to avoid elimination.

He summed up rather wistfully, "I am dancing for my life."

8 Simple steps are all it takes to make this Halloween 'BOO' banner

$

0

With a few basic supplies, this project is low cost, simple to make and sure to add a spook to your holiday decor.

Supplies:

Supplies

  • Large sheet black felt
  • White peel-and-stick felt
  • Scissors
  • Marker
  • Black thread
  • Needle
  • Pins
  • Twine or yarn for hanging
  • Dowel rod
  • Ruler or tape measure

Instructions:

Step 1

1. Start by cutting the large piece of black felt down to size. Here we cut down to approximately 14 x 14 inches. You may want to cut to the size of the dowel rod you are using (we used a 16-inch dowel rod here). Otherwise you will want to cut your dowel rod down to size as well.

Step 3

2. Fold the top of the black felt over the dowel rod, and pin it in place. Fold over approximately 2 inches. Keep the dowel rod in place during this process.

Step 3

3. Using your needle and black thread, hand stitch (or sew with a sewing machine, if you prefer) across the line where pinned to keep the dowel rod in place. The sleeve over the dowel rod should be loose enough to easily slide the dowel rod in and out.

Boo draw

4. Sketch the letters "BOO" (or whatever other word or words you desire, like "TRICK OR TREAT" perhaps!) backward along the back lining of the white peel-and-stick felt. Make them almost as large as the entire 8-1/2 x 11-inch sheet. It's OK if the letters aren't perfect here; it makes them more Halloween-ish to be imperfect!

Boo cutout

5. Cut out the "BOO" letters from the peel-and-stick felt.

Step 6

6. Peel the "BOO" letters, and stick them onto the black felt.

Step 7

7. Once the "BOO" letters are in place, measure out enough twine to tie along the top of the dowel rod.

Step 8

8. Tie the twine at the top of the dowel rod, and your project is complete. Find the perfect place to hang it!

5 Reasons why an Ebola TV series is a horrible, horrible idea

$
0
0

If you watch the news, you know that nearly everyone is talking about the deadly virus. But soon Ebola will be making its way into millions of homes via a new TV series.

Chris Brown has a theory about the Ebola outbreak

The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news that producer Lynda Obst and director-producer Ridley Scott are set to bring a film about the virus to the small screen. The series will be based on the 1994 Richard Preston nonfiction best-seller The Hot Zone and will be produced for Fox TV Studios.

The project has been on the back burner for years, but with the most recent Ebola outbreaks, suddenly everyone is thinking about the virus and it looks like this series is finally going to happen. We're wondering whether that might not be the best idea.

Fear factor

People are poised on the edge of panic when it comes to Ebola. Each individual case in the U.S. has caused people to become frightened that they can contract the virus anywhere, anytime. A TV series would only add to that fear factor, especially if the story enhances the truth and gives people the wrong idea about how Ebola is transmitted. We might see people taking their families and heading to the mountains with tents, thinking that would keep them safer.

Ebola victim's dog to be euthanized out of fear it may spread disease

Too close to home

Ebola isn't some made-up disease making an appearance in a movie purely to drive the plot. It exists right here, right now, and people really are getting sick from it. Wouldn't a TV series about something this serious hit just a little too close to home? Would people actually want to watch it, knowing that it's really happening to real people?

Been there, done that

Even if you take away the realism, you're still left with a series based on a subject that's kind of been done and redone. There have been plenty of movies and TV series about the ravages of a deadly virus. Do we really need one more? All you really have to do is pull out a DVD of Outbreak or rewatch this summer's The Last Ship and you're all set.

Too gross

Because we've seen these types of series before, we know how a lot of it will probably go down, and it won't be pretty. The symptoms of Ebola include vomiting and diarrhea, and really, who needs to watch that? Chances are, the special effects people on the series will make the virus look even worse than it is.

Ebola is here in Texas, and my response as a mother scares me

Zombie warning

Maybe we've been watching too much of The Walking Dead, but it's hard to think of a highly contagious virus without wondering if it could lead to an all-out zombie apocalypse. Ebola may not turn people into deadly walkers who eat human flesh, but it's still frightening enough to make us think of the end of the world, and that's pretty much the same thing.
