The charges against him escalated on Tuesday with the charge of child rape being added to the previous arrest. Hayden allegedly assaulted the 12-year-old daughter he had with his ex-girlfriend.

Will Hayden arrested for allegedly molesting a child >>

After his initial arrest, the Discovery star blamed his ex-girlfriend for making up the charges in retaliation for the end of their relationship. Hayden's daughter Stephanie from another relationship told TMZ, "There was never any impropriety in our home. He was and is a good father."

However, the gossip site obtained the court documents, which chronicled the horrific details of the child being raped in March 2013 when she was just 11 years old. The victim was allegedly assaulted almost daily both orally and vaginally. She did not report the crime out of fear for her life after allegedly being threatened by Hayden.

The documents revealed that Hayden reportedly told his daughter, "Don't tell them nothing, because I'm all you got."

The latest allegations forced the cable channel to not only halt production on the reality show, but also cancel the entire series.

A spokesperson told TMZ, "Given the serious and horrific nature of the charges against Will Hayden, we have decided to halt further production of Sons of Guns and cancel the series."

The show has already been removed from their website. The series ran for five seasons on the network and featured his gun store, Red Jacket Firearms.

Hayden is currently in custody after the second arrest.

Punished in extreme heat

Lunch monitors in a Central Illinois school district are in hot water after they forced a group of fourth-graders to sit outside on the blacktop as the heat index climbed to over 100 degrees.

Gracie Johnson, a student in the Tuscola School District in Tuscola, Illinois, told her father that she and her classmates were made to sit down in a parking lot, many of them clad in shorts, as a punishment when some members of her class wouldn't stop talking during their lunch break. "It kind of burnt my legs and it kind of stung too," she told news station WCIA.

Johnson's dad, Chad Daugherty, was understandably furious and called to school immediately. So far, there is no information about what might happen to the staff member who allegedly doled out the consequence. According to a statement from Michael Smith, the district's superintendent, the incident is under investigation.

"While we have had no specific complaints today from parents or students, nor any complaints of any student being injured or affected by the allegations you raise, we will immediately look to uncover the truth," the statement reads. "If there is any indication that anything like you suggest occurred, it will not be tolerated and the employees will be dealt with in the strongest terms available."

The Midwest is suffering from an extreme heat wave as summer ends, and school started just as the temperatures began to soar. One parent from Tuscola took it upon themselves to measure the air temperature near the blacktop around 4 p.m. that same day — it was about 133 degrees.

I live not too far from the city where this allegedly happened and it's so hot that residents are advised to stay indoors at all times. Some schools even enacted early dismissal times in order to protect students from the extreme temperatures. The school is very lucky, indeed, that none of these kids appear to have suffered any health problems as a result what was basically a corporal punishment.

An acupuncture cynic tries it for the first time

$

I obliged because I'm hopelessly polite, and because this appointment was free through a pilot program at my work. My brain, however, was busy rattling through all the reasons why I thought acupuncture was nonsense.

Hartenstein intently peered into my mouth and then scrawled a note on my paperwork that said, "little fur, very red." Intrigued, I asked her what health information she could possibly glean from my tongue, its color and its furriness.

"Well, it's not exactly good," Hartenstein told me with a warm smile. "Light fur on your tongue means you're dehydrated, and the vibrant, red color tells me that you have extra heat in your body — perhaps from anxiety, or another underlying condition." Bingo. By simply looking at my tongue, Hartenstein noticed exactly what I'd been denying — that I was intensely anxious due to a family matter, and that I'd self-medicated with dehydrating glasses of wine the night before.

Enormous relief from tiny needles

I was hooked. My skepticism dissipated as Hartenstein explained that my tongue and the pulse points on my wrists provided a window to my health. My anxiety, clearly, was high. The anxiety precipitated my ill-planned, Tuesday drinking and subsequent dehydration. The dehydration resulted in my presenting health problems — a splitting headache, and thus more anxiety. Normally, I would have treated the headache with an ibuprofen, but Hartenstein looked me in the eye and said, "Why don't we treat that anxiety instead?"

She cleaned my right ear with an alcohol swab before beginning a round of auricular acupuncture, in which she placed five tiny needles in my ear. The needles were accompanied by a light pinching sensation, and they caused a feeling of warmth to sweep through my neck and shoulders. I felt light-headed for a moment, and then my body was surprised by calmness. Sleepiness took over, and then Hartenstein moved tuning forks beside both ears to help me focus on the present moment. After just a few minutes of treatment, I felt like a new woman and both my headache and anxiety lifted.

Acupuncture is a research-backed medical treatment

Relief from a small headache is nice, but I'll admit it certainly isn't earth shattering. After my session, I asked Hartenstein if she's ever seen acupuncture yield more compelling results than simple tension relief. "The acupuncture community has seen incredible results," Hartenstein exclaimed. Among the success stories? A cerebral palsy patient who placed his feet flat on the ground for the first time in his life following acupuncture; a 25-year multiple sclerosis patient who regained significant balance and steadiness; and a Vietnam veteran who found relief from severe neuropathy in his feet.

Hartenstein explained that acupuncturists are serious about healing. They aren't a group of fly-by-night soothsayers, of the same caliber as a tarot card or palm reader. "Acupuncturists in the U.S. all attend a three to four year master's program and obtain over 3,000 hours of clinical education and training," she said. Some, like Hartenstein, even go on to pursue a doctorate in the field. They're well schooled in the workings of the human body, and research demonstrates that acupuncture is as effective as an adjunct or stand-alone therapy.

Curious, but skeptical? I get that. My acupuncturist's immediate awareness of my ailments helped me put aside my cynicism. The ensuing session managed my pain and dealt with my mental health, which was well worth the risk for me.

LeAnn Rimes talks about losing her virginity and it's just weird

The country singer and Cibrian appeared on the 72nd episode of In Bed With Joan, published on Tuesday, to joke about their sex life, talk about themselves as a couple and address all the affair rumors... but it just got a little weird.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian talked to his kids about affair >>

"This will be our first kind of threesome, and honestly, I'm kind of nervous that I won't be able to perform," the Sunset Beach actor began. He then poked fun at Rivers and her sexual prowess, saying, "There's something to be said about experience."

Right. Then the pair got into bed with the Fashion Police star and began to speak about their VH1 reality TV show LeAnn & Eddie, and what was off-limits when it came to showing the world their lives.

VH1's LeAnn & Eddie : The (not good) ways they're perfect together >>

Eddie claimed his kids were, but went on to explain that they wanted to do the show to convey to people the reason why they are married, why they are a couple and what they are like as one.

So far, so good, but then the comedienne asks Rimes about how she lost her virginity (here's where it all gets a little strange).

"I was in Monte Carlo and I was 15?" she said, sounding unsure.

Cibrian then laughed at the fact that his wife was in Monte Carlo in the first place. "I know, it's kind of a bullshit story. I was 16. There you go," the singer added.

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian have babies on the brain >>

"Was it nice? Was it bad? Was he nice?" Rivers asked.

"He was my boyfriend for like three and a half years. He was fine. I think I raped him. I think that's how it happened," Rimes said.

Um. What? Fine, it's a joke, but not a very funny one.

The Good Wife star Julianna Margulies has been married to her super-hot, younger husband Keith Lieberthal for seven years already and their marriage is still going strong.

Spoiler alert: The Good Wife's creators explain major plot twist >>

An insider revealed to Us Weekly that the pair enjoys a "crazy-strong" relationship and that her husband "gives her a lot of life."

Margulies may play a lawyer onscreen, but her husband is a Wall Street litigator in real life and although there is a six-year age difference between these two, it has never even been a factor.

"There is a serious attraction between them," the source explained to the mag. "And beyond that, there are a lot of mutual interests."

How Julianna Margulies ruins her son's birthday >>

And we're pretty sure that the actress's role on The Good Wife has given the pair even more mutual interests, because they can now discuss matters of the law.

But love, mutual interests and attraction are not the only things going right for the couple; apparently, the star also likes the fact that her husband is not in showbiz.

"They talk about loftier things when they are together," the insider told Us Weekly. "She likes that he's not in the industry, but he gets it."

Emmy drama queen Julianna Margulies back in court Sunday >>

And the admiration is requited, because apparently Lieberthal is pretty smitten with his wife, too.

"He loves that she is not just a pretty face — he loves her intellect," another insider told the mag. "They do almost everything together." Awwww!

We wish the couple, and their young son Kieran, many more happy years together as a family.

The prince was joined by Thurlow for a fun vacation in a luxury yacht with pals Ben Goldsmith and his fiancée, model Jemima Jones, Us Weekly reported. The cruise began Saturday, Aug. 23 and it is in part to celebrate Harry's 30th birthday, which falls on Sept. 15.

Britain is betting on another royal wedding >>

"[The trip's] also because he deserves some time off work to relax and recharge his batteries," an insider told the magazine, referring to Harry's nonstop work organizing the Invictus Games that will be held Sept. 10 through 14.

The romance rumor mill first started up when Harry was seen kissing Thurlow at a London nightclub in July. He kept in touch with her via text messaging and decided to invite her along for his yacht vacation.

Prince Harry spotted in a royally epic photobomb >>

"It's a sign that he's really smitten with Camilla that he feels comfortable to invite her away with friends he's known for years," the Us source added.

The yacht the lucky couple is traveling on exudes all the wanted luxuries in a boat and more. It has a large master suite along with six other bedrooms, a gym, swimming platform, an on-deck hot tub and even a helicopter pad.

5 Reasons Prince Harry & Cressida Bonas are over >>

This may be a time for Harry to reflect on how to proceed with his life, as he's leaning toward settling down sometime in the near future. Thurlow may just be the woman the redheaded prince could have a future with, after splitting up with longtime girlfriend Cressida Bonas last April.

Thurlow works as a projects officer for The HALO Trust, which is a nonprofit organization that Harry's mom, Princess Diana, had close ties to. The young professional is also a former Miss Edinburgh.

Teen girl stressed at school | Sheknows.com

Photo credit: Jetta Productions/Digital Vision/Getty Images

Got stress? If you're a teen girl, the answer is a resounding yes. But what are the factors in a teen girl's life that cause the most stress? We checked in with a random group of teen girls and got a glimpse into what their stressors are.

What's stressing them out?

I surveyed a random sample of teen girls (anonymously) about what pressures they are under and where the stress comes from. Within this sample group, the overwhelming majority of stress comes from academic pressures. A full 25 percent of teens surveyed agreed that academic pressures from parents and/or society caused them stress, plus a whopping 58 percent who strongly agreed. This category far outweighed pressure to use illegal substances and sexual pressure, which may be surprising to many parents.

What our girls are saying

Want to know what's going on in your teen's head? I left an open-ended question in my anonymous survey for them to share — if they chose to. What causes teen girls the most stress on a daily basis?

"School, homework, grades, getting into college."

"Pressure from parents to be the perfect child."

"Having too much going on."

"Family drama."

"Rumors and people's opinions."

"I get stressed when I get a bad grade on something because I want to be successful, and I don't want to fail. It's not so much academic pressure from parents or society, but more academic pressure from myself, because I don't want to let myself down by failing."

"Mom."

"School. Oh my god. The school course is just ugh. Can't stand it. Then you have your freaking teachers that don't educate you and expect you to be born Einstein. The effect of that is your parents grounding you for the bad grades. Giving you more lectures, less freedom and expect you to just be OK with it. And that is what stresses the hell out of me."

"Sexual/relationship pressures from peers and self."

"School, friends and life."

Bravery and confidence targeted

Turns out, there is a lot of interest and concern about the stress teen girls are under. The Dare to Dream, Dare to Act: What Girls Say About Bravery study is a partnership between Keds and the Girls Leadership Institute. These two groups wanted to find out more about today's teen girls, how they feel about the stress in their lives and what bravery and confidence mean to them. The research study involved a total of 1,095 girls and 455 boys between the ages of 13 and 18, and was administered from February through April 2014. From academic pressures to the effects of peer criticism on their self-confidence, the daily stress of being a teen can weigh heavily on our daughters — and erode their self-esteem. Where to apply for college? Will I make the honor roll this semester? Why wasn't I invited to the birthday party? As I saw in my anonymous survey, there are multiple stressors in their lives. Teen girls recognize stress in their lives, but those surveyed admit to needing more resilience, confidence and bravery to overcome them and succeed. The top three pressures teen girls in the study indicated they need more bravery to overcome are:

  • Public speaking: 24 percent
  • Dealing with failure: 22 percent
  • Peer pressure: 16 percent

Where does the stress come from?

So we know that teen girls need help to develop the confidence and bravery to face their stressors, but where does their stress come from? A full 71 percent of teen girls in the study say that they feel some sort of pressure, and 25 percent quantify the pressure as "a lot." Here are the major sources of stress identified in the study.

School stress: Sixty-six percent of teen girls feel pressure from school on a daily basis.

Teacher tension: For 34 percent of teen girls in the study, their number one source of pressure comes from teachers, making concerns over academic performance the top stressor overall.

Go-getters: Girls show lots of initiative when it comes to their schoolwork, with 57 percent of those in the study reporting that they are an "A" student. A whopping 79 percent are aiming for a higher education and cite this as their most important goal.

Peer pressure: One-third of the total pressure comes from peers, meaning that classmates and friends represent a major source of stress as well as companionship. Many parents might assume that the majority of stress in their teen daughter's life comes from peer pressure — and might be surprised to learn how high these girls ranked their academic stress. Whether brought on by teachers or inflicted on themselves, academic pressure has a real effect on these girls.

What can parents do?

As the parent of a teen girl, always keep the lines of communication open without drilling her with questions. Chatting in the car is a great way to take the tension away, and follow her lead. Talk openly and honestly about school and expectations, both yours and hers. Try to resist comparisons with her friends or classmates. If she shares with you something that's happening in her world — a pregnant friend, someone who was drunk at school, a friend who is depressed — don't judge. Listen, then brainstorm with her about how she can help. She doesn't need your judgment; she needs you to have her back.

Help your teen daughter see her full potential and approach her future with bravery and self-confidence. She's counting on you.

What's a love-worthy relationship? Daniel Radcliffe explains

Radcliffe was recently promoting his upcoming film What If (which just so happens to be his first romantic comedy, but probably not his last) during an interview with Parade. And he let his romantic side show as he gushed about what it's like to be in love.

EXCLUSIVE CLIP: Daniel Radcliffe tortures himself in new film What If >>

When asked by Parade on how you know whether someone loves you or not, Radcliffe explained, "It's very, very hard to know. We all grow up with an idea of what love is. It's this all-conquering thing that when you find it, all the other problems you have will be overwhelmed and conquered by it," the Woman in Black actor continued. "Part of the process of growing up is realizing that that's not how it works.

"Actually, there are lots of other things that need to be put into a relationship as well [as love]. Especially if you're in that situation where you are a friend and are thinking about potentially jeopardizing your friendship for something [more]. That is a situation which most people are in at some point."

INTERVIEW: Daniel Radcliffe opens up about his love life >>

Radcliffe is fully aware of the fact that love is difficult to find, and perhaps that's why he is so thankful for the role that his girlfriend and former costar plays in his life.

"We met on the set of Kill Your Darlings, and just got on immediately," he said of Darke. "It was one of those instant things where you're like, 'Oh, I really like this person.' You just have a connection with somebody, and then suddenly it's incredibly easy to talk to them. It was one of those sort of situations," Radcliffe gushed.

He continued to explain how their love formed, saying, "I'm not a very chilled-out person a lot of the time. But there's a relaxed quality to our conversation. There's no effort in it. It's totally flowing. It's a wonderful thing."

Childhood ruined: Daniel Radcliffe shares TMI about sex life >>

Daniel Radcliffe shot into stardom at a young age, and because of his immense wealth and fame as a kid, the British star battled to cope with it. However, he seems to be in a good place in his life right now and he's got a positive outlook on the future, as is evident in his latest comments.

And the romantics in us would like to believe that finding love had a small part to play in Radcliffe's happiness.

Instructor shot by 9-year-old girl in tragic gun accident (VIDEO)

Charles Vacca, a veteran and gun instructor, was filmed while showing the young girl proper handling techniques at the Bullets and Burgers gun range in Dolan Springs, Arizona. Though the video cuts off before any accident is shown, the Mohave County Sheriff's Department reported the girl fired the weapon, and it recoiled, sending a shot that struck Vacca. He later died of his injuries.

Please note, although the video does not show the accident, it still may be tough to watch while knowing the eventual outcome.

Girl shoots instructor with Uzi

Girl shoots instructor with Uzi

The incident will undoubtedly serve as another tragic talking point in the long debate about children and gun safety, but gun range operator Sam Scarmardo told local news station KLAS that Vacca was a trained professional and that all rules were followed prior to the accident.

"Our guys are trained to basically hover over people when they're shooting," Scarmardo said. Vacca can also be heard in the video giving extensive instructions to the girl before she shoots.

Aside from mourning Vacca's death and the young girl's involvement, range employees quickly instituted a new policy, stating that guests must now be 5 feet tall and 12 years or older to be able to shoot.

While it's good to see the range responded to the tragedy in a productive way, do you think there could have been more done to prevent the accident? Or are things like this bound to happen, even when safety measures are in full effect?

Farting hippo leads to lawsuit against CBS (VIDEO)

CBS Sued over farting hippo

CBS Sued over farting hippo

I had to watch this video twice and then do some diligent research (read: Googling) to make sure it was true and that I wasn't being pranked. I am happy (and embarrassed for humanity) to report that this story is 100 percent true. The toy company responsible for creating the stuffed hippo, who would eventually become a beloved call-back joke on the hit show NCIS, originally joined forces with CBS to create and sell an actual farting hippo. So far, so gross, right?

But the company involved claims that CBS got up to shady business. They outsourced the manufacturing of their farting hippos to another company to save money, leaving the original farting hippo out in the cold. I have never written the phrase "farting hippo" so many times before. I'll be real, I never thought I would. Here's hoping this doesn't make it to court, because knowing my luck I'd wind up on the jury, unable to keep a straight face as various experts squeezed plush, farting hippos to defend their case.

Simple summer bites: Rustic grilled veggie tart

$

Here I combined leftover grilled vegetables, store-bought puff pastry dough and goat cheese, and baked it until the tart was nice and golden brown. This is a super-simple but delicious dinner idea the whole family can enjoy.

Grilled summer vegetable tarts recipe

For the grilled veggies, I use a grill pan that sits directly on the barbecue. I prefer using a pan because it helps keep the sliced vegetables from falling through the grill grate.

Grilled summer vegetable tart recipe

Serves 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry dough, thawed
  • 1/2 cup goat cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • Assorted leftover grilled vegetables (tomatoes, zucchini, onions, corn — you can substitute oven-roasted vegetables if you don't have grilled)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Balsamic reduction, for drizzling

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll the thawed puff pastry out on the parchment paper, and spread the softened goat cheese on top of it. Sprinkle the garlic powder and dried herbs on top of the goat cheese.
  3. Top the tart with a single layer of your leftover grilled vegetables.
  4. Bake the tart for 25 to 30 minutes or until the puff pastry is a nice golden-brown color.
  5. Remove the tart from the oven, and allow it to cool slightly.
  6. Sprinkle the warm tart with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cut into squares, and garnish with fresh parsley and a drizzle of balsamic reduction, if desired.
  8. Best served immediately.

100 Black-and-white kittens abandoned at a Bay Area shelter

The Marin Humane Society is asking for the public's help to solve the cutest, cuddliest caper ever. Actually, it's a serious problem, but the tuxedo kittens are so cute.

Here’s what happened.

In the wee hours of the morning, surveillance video at the Marin shelter shows a white SUV pull up, unload several cardboard boxes and drive off. When staff arrived the next morning, they found 24 black-and-white, or what are also known as "tuxedo," kittens inside. The same SUV has been spotted making at least three similar tuxedo kitty-cat ditch missions over the past 18 months. In fact, the Marin Humane Society says they have received about 100 kittens all told from the mysterious people in the white SUV.

The Marin Humane Society released the footage hoping to get tips from the public about who the careless cat owners might be. But so far, they haven’t gotten any leads.

Lisa Bloch, who is the Director of Marketing and Communications for the Marin Humane Society, says that the kittens are overwhelming their resources and they simply want to help the mystery owners of the frisky felines get a handle on the tuxedo cat breeding bonanza.

"We just want to offer to spay and neuter the cats," Bloch says.

In the meantime, the good folks at the Marin Humane Society are in the process of getting the tuxedo kittens ready for adoption, a process that costs the non-profit about $500 per cat. If you want to help, you can make a donation toward getting the tuxedo cats adopted into good homes.

Whatever way you look at it, renting has its downsides. Sure, you've got someone on call to fix things when they break, and you don't have the stress of home ownership. That said, you're also essentially flushing your money down the drain each month instead of building equity. This is even truer if you live someplace like San Francisco, Honolulu or New York City, where your money won't go nearly as far as it will someplace like Cleveland or Little Rock.

What do you look for when you choose where to rent — space or location? Folks willing to compromise on space might be doing it because of access to restaurants, work or public transportation. Or at least, as someone living in Brooklyn, this is how I quietly rationalize my monthly peeing away of my dollars.

Should airlines ban peanuts to protect people with food allergies?

$
0
0

Since I don’t have allergies, this scenario never crossed my mind before I became a parent. And lo and behold, parenting threw me a curveball. My oldest son was born with a number of allergies and food sensitivities. He had weeping, bleeding eczema as an infant and later asthma.

Any food allergy parent can tell you that having a kid with allergies is not fun. Not only do you have to police whatever they put in their mouth, but you have to constantly worry about the possibility of a reaction. Fortunately, my son does not have life-threatening allergies. But because of all we have gone through with specialists and allergists, I can wholly understand how frightening it must be for a parent to watch her child have a serious attack.

Nut allergies can be deadly. Food Allergy Research & Education reports that "Peanut allergy is one of the most common food allergies. Peanuts can cause a severe, potentially fatal, allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)."

Peanut allergies also appear to be on the rise in children, and this affliction can be a lifelong struggle. Parents of children with nut allergies know that they need to carry an EpiPen at all times to prevent a deadly reaction. But what is a parent supposed to do if they forgot or already used their child's EpiPen while traveling? Or what if a child has their first allergic reaction to peanuts on a plane, without any medical help around?

It's for this reason that many airlines have already chosen to stop serving peanuts. Allergy awareness is growing; some airlines are willing to comply and protect passengers with grave allergic conditions. But a federal guideline to ban peanuts on airlines has yet to come into effect. As a result, passengers, like the young girls described above, are still vulnerable to severe allergy attacks that will require an emergency landing.

Not all airlines are "on board" with this change. It can be hard to instate a new airline policy that inconveniences the many to protect the health of the few. But let's think logically about this. Do you really need to eat peanuts on a plane? Isn't it time that this on-board snack trend dies? Customers aren't likely to notice the transition from peanuts to another free in-flight snack. It's a small price to pay to save a life.

12 Ways to celebrate Labor Day with young and restless children

Perfect example — I will not be spending this Labor Day drinking too much, eating too much and laying out in the sun. I will probably spend the holiday breaking up fights between my toddlers and praying that they don’t get heatstroke if we spend more than 20 minutes in direct sunlight.

But I have learned a valuable lesson in my three years of having babies and now toddlers. Roll with the punches, come up with a few asinine activities and your children will think you’re a hero. You heard it here first. Labor Day can still be a good time if you adjust your expectations and think of creative ways to entertain your kids:

1. Take a nap

And then when you’re done, take another one.

2. Turn on the hose

That’s really all you need to do.

3. Set up a kiddie pool

Use the cool pool water to float your beer, while pretending it’s “all for the kids.”

4. Hand out Popsicles

Wait until they melt — and then give them more.

5. Walk around the block

If your kids are really young, this could take all afternoon.

6. Sing a song about America

This could also take all afternoon.

7. Wave flags

Kids love this shit.

8. Go on a day trip

Try your best to be festive and have fun. In reality, prepare for lots and lots of crying in the car.

KIDDING. This is festive but probably unsafe. Please find other ways to celebrate.

10. Eat patriotic Jell-O

Red, white, and blue Jell-O will be the literal highlight of your toddler’s week.

I’m going to be honest — this really has nothing to do with children.

12. Put them to bed early

It’s a holiday, and they can’t tell time. It’s the perfect crime.

The "Can't Remember to Forget You" hit maker confirmed, after months of speculation, that she and her soccer-player boyfriend Gerard Piqué are expecting their second child together, during a recent interview with the Spanish version of Cosmopolitan.

Motherhood has helped Shakira discover herself >>

"Well yes, the truth is that I am pregnant," she confessed to the mag. And there are rumors that the Colombian-born star will soon become a mother to another little boy.

The "Hips Don't Lie" star has been a doting mom to her 18-month-old son Milan, who she shares with her boyfriend — the pair first met four years ago when Piqué appeared in the music video for Shakira's hit song "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)."

The beauty even previously gushed to Latina magazine about how she'd love to expand her little family.

"If it weren't because of my music projects, I would be pregnant already," she confessed in the April issue of the magazine. "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard — my own fútbol team."

Shakira is not done having kids — she wants eight or nine more >>

Well, she'll be getting her team sooner than she expected. In fact, Shakira has a lot of good things happening in her life lately, because her career is flourishing. Not only is she a coach on The Voice, but she has also released her self-titled 10th studio album — but being a mother is still her No. 1 priority.

Congratulations to the happy couple on the news of Shakira's pregnancy with their second child.

Support pours in for young gay man beaten and kicked out by his family (VIDEO)

The following video is very difficult to watch, and includes expletives, violence and slurs. As horrific as it is to watch, it's equally important to see. If you can't imagine a family turning against a young person for being gay, watch as Pierce's grandmother and stepmother condemn him for his lifestyle, insist he's made a choice and tell him he has to move out. Pierce titled this video simply, "How not to react when your child tells you that he's gay."

"You have chosen that path. We will not support you any longer. You will need to move out and find wherever you can to live, and do what you want to. Because I will not let people believe that I condone what you do," Pierce's stepmother can be heard saying over the span of five harrowing minutes.

As they argue, tempers rise. "To add insult to injury, my stepmother punched me in the face repeatedly with my grandmother cheering her along," Pierce wrote on Facebook after sharing the video. "I am still in complete shock and disbelief."

This devastating confrontation has a silver lining thanks to supporters who watched Pierce's video. Within hours a fundraising page was set up to help him with his living expenses. Over $20,000 has been raised. Perhaps even more moving than the donated money are the comments supporting Pierce.

"No one should be treated that way especially by their parents, I'm so sorry that this happened to you Daniel, you are a wonderful person with a bright future in front of you that is full of people that love and respect you!" writes Clara Robertson.

Your life is a gift, so don't let the foolishness of religion and their fabricated rules ever bring you down to their level of hatred and delusion," writes Phil Giralte.

"Wish this money would change more than it does and help in more ways than it can," writes Katherine Leary. "There are lots of people out there who have your back. I sincerely hope that one day, this will have just been an ugly speed bump in the road to real family and real love"

Over 350 supporters have left Pierce messages of love and support. Hopefully Pierce, who studies Business Administration at Georgia Highlands College, can move forward in life with support and love he didn't receive from his parents.

Let this be a warning to any would-be Nicki Minaj "Anaconda" copycats

Nicki Minaj's MTV VMAs malfunction reportedly staged >>

If you have been living under a rock since Sunday night and haven't yet heard the original version of the song, "Anaconda," it is, put simply, a video ode to the booty. The video is comprised of a whole lot of butt shaking — in poses you didn't ever want (or need) to see. Minaj flaunts her assets (pun intended) in tiny getups in different locations for the duration of the video. In case you weren't sure, Nicki Minaj likes her butt!

7 Times the "Anaconda" video is deeply disturbing >>

And now, thanks to South African comedy duo, Derick Watts and the Sunday Blues, "Anaconda" is not only a visual ode to the butt, but an audio one, too. How much better does it get than that? Er. Yeah. The entire soundtrack to the original song is lost and replaced by pretty disgusting farting noises. Just what the world needed.

While definitely amusing and smirk-inducing, this new remix is also definitely pretty gross. Take it from us: If you are looking to maintain your dignity, steer clear of hitting play. Or, turn down the volume. Way to keep it classy, Ms. Minaj.
