Kirsten Dunst has babies on the brain

Kirsten Dunst stands up for gender roles >>

"I'm in baby mode because two of my really good friends are pregnant right now," she told the magazine. "One of them is pretty chilled and the other's like, 'I can't wait to have a glass of wine!' I love it though. We've already picked her girl's name, it's done! I think 33 is a good age to have your first baby."

Dunst is currently dating Garrett Hedlund, her On the Road co-star, but said her life may be too crazy at the moment to really start thinking about babies of her own.

"You don't know what's going to happen in the next 10 years," she said. "But I get asked that question a lot because I'm in my 30s and it's like: time to get married and have babies, right? That's the vibe. Well, I already have a mother to ask those questions, so nobody else needs to!"

Dunst has changed a lot in the last 10 years and said she has become a much more laid-back person than when she was in her 20s. She explained, "I'm not as worried as I used to be. When I was younger, if I wasn't working, I would get anxiety. I'd feel like I should be doing something. But now, I'm so good at chilling out. In my thirties I've become really good friends with relaxing.”

What's it like to kiss Brad Pitt? "Disgusting" >>

"I'm sure one day, if I have kids, the anxiety of life will come back again, because you're worried about somebody else."

You can see Dunst next in Midnight Special, expected in theaters in 2015. Her Red magazine interview is on newsstands Aug. 7.

It's "Kim Kardashian" no more: Say hello to Mrs. West

It seems Monday was another busy day for the beauty, who wed West on May 24. Not only did the glam selfie-loving star pop in for a new passport photo, but she stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as well, and she shared an adorable shot of her husband and daughter together.

Marriage the third time around seems to be agreeing with the video game app maven. Last month she explained she's re-prioritized her life and is now putting family in front of career commitments.

"You know, now that I'm married," the beauty said, "I would so much rather spend time with my husband, my family and my baby than run around the world working for other people."

Surely, Kanye West is pleased by Kim's name change, given he sees their marriage as significant to many.

"Saying 'Hey, I like Kim' isn't as inspiring to people as us getting married," he previously told GQ while discussing their decision to tie the knot. "And anyone that's in a relationship knows that in order to get to the point to get married and then to be married and to then carry on, it needs that work put into it. Right now, people look at it and it's like, 'Wow, that's inspiring.'"

What do you think of Kim Kardashian changing her recognizable name: sweet or a questionable career move?

Strangers rescue Kansas City toddler from hot car, mom throws punches

Only 19 states have laws against leaving kids unattended in cars, but that doesn't mean it's ever safe to do it. In the summertime, the temperature inside a vehicle quickly rises to life-threatening levels. Tiquana S. Pasco likely thought it was safe to leave her daughter with the windows cracked and the car running, but her error in judgment has her charged with second-degree child endangerment.

Within 10 minutes of being left unattended in an unlocked, running car, Pasco's 20-month-old daughter showed signs of suffering from the heat. A family reports spotting the sweating, unattended toddler in the car. After being unable to locate a parent, they called the police and took the girl out of the unlocked car and into an air-conditioned restaurant to cool down.

Pasco, who had been inside a nearby Game Stop, soon discovered her daughter missing from her vehicle. Understandably, she reportedly became very distressed. Witnesses say she began asking, "Who took my baby?" Any mom can sympathize with the panic of finding a child missing, but Pasco appears to have missed the point that her actions put her daughter in danger in the first place.

Mom charged with leaving child in car | Sheknows.com

When Pasco discovered her daughter in the arms of a stranger, she allegedly tried to pull the child away. At that point, a horrible tug-of-war went on — with Pasco reaching for her daughter, the child vomiting repeatedly and rescuers trying to fend Pasco off. According to those at the scene, Pasco punched the man standing between her and her daughter.

The unnamed toddler was released to the care of a godparent and appears to have recovered from her bout in the heat. Pasco was detained and could face up to a year in jail. With all the recent stories of children unintentionally left in cars, it's easy to lose sight of the fact that intentionally leaving kids unattended can also put them in danger very quickly.

Do you think the witnesses who stepped in and rescued Pasco's daughter did the right thing?

Katherine Heigl used to be an angry working mom

"I would come home angry and frustrated that I'd missed everything with my kid that day," Heigl tells the September issue of Good Housekeeping. "I didn't get to wake her up from her nap or do bath time or bedtime. I'd have to sneak into her room and kiss her when she was sleeping, hoping not to wake her up."

Eventually, Heigl's demanding work schedule, which required hours on location in Atlanta, took a backseat. She took a break from Grey's Anatomy and then left the show for good.

"I felt like my priorities were messed up," Heigl says. "I was putting so much time and energy into just my work, but I was raised [to believe] that family comes first."

But it looks like the decision to switch to full-time motherhood was a good one for Heigl. She and Kelley adopted their second daughter, Adelaide, from Louisiana in 2012.

"Naleigh would go off to her ballet classes and other stuff, and I would sit with the baby at home," she says. "I would read, and she would lie on my chest, and we'd lie on the couch with, like, four dogs and watch Friday Night Lights."

But only when Naleigh was out of the house, Heigl adds — big sister had her own ideas about caring for the new baby.

"We brought her home and right away Naleigh was like a little mommy," Heigl says. "She'd say, 'No, no. You're not holding her right.' Or, 'She needs to eat again.' I'd be like, 'Would you back off? Just give me a minute!'"

Heigl will return to NBC's State of Affairs this fall, but for now, she's just relishing being a full-time mom at her family's home in Utah.

"We had big dreams of expanding our family, moving to the mountains and having a quieter life," she says. "Utah is spectacularly beautiful, the people are wonderful and kind, it's an easy commute from L.A. — and there's no traffic!"

Kickboxer announces two more sexy cast members, Scott Adkins and Tony Jaa

It's been 25 years since Jean-Claude Van Damme kicked butt in the original Kickboxer, a martial arts film about two brothers who encounter a nasty kickboxing champ named Tong Po in Thailand. Po paralyzes one of the brothers, leaving the second one (Van Damme) bent on revenge. The cult classic was a box office success and, although critics panned it, the film spawned several sequels.

Who's hotter: X-Men's Hugh Jackman vs. Michael Fassbender >>

Now, Kickboxer is getting a 3-D reboot, and as if the cast wasn't exciting enough, hotties Scott Adkins (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Thai star Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) are joining the ranks.

The film follows Kurt Sloane, a talented martial artist who travels to Thailand where he must learn the secrets to kickboxing in order to avenge his brother's death at the hands of the evil Tong Po. Sloan will be played by stuntman Alain Moussi (X-Men: Days of Future Past) and Tong Po will be played by Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy).

We're pretty sure the 3-D concept will work to the film's advantage, with plenty of action sequences making the audience feel like they are right in the middle of each and every fight scene, but we'd be lying if we didn't confess that we're more excited about getting to see the cast up close and personal than we are about the blood and sweat flying off the screen.

What do you think? Does this cast get your blood pumping?

Change.org petition wants Weird Al to headline Super Bowl XLIX

Petition against Beyoncé & Blue Ivy's hair is a mockery of Change.org >>

Someone started a petition on Change.org for Yankovic to be on the bill of the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show, according to the Wall Street Journal. The show is seen by millions around the world, and "Ed Ball" from Seattle thinks Weird Al should be given a chance.

"For decades Weird Al has entertained fans, young and old, with his popular clever parodies and unique sense of humor," Ball wrote. "Having him headline the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show would not only be overly accepted by the millions of views, but it would remain true to the standards and quality of the show business we have come to love and respect out of this prestigious event."

Ball not only pleaded for Yankovic to be on the show, but he actually showed some reasoning as to why it would make an amazing show and why Weird Al would be a logical choice. He explained, "The songs of artists that he is parodying could join him on stage to accompany, as well as other surprise appearances from well-known actors/actresses, adding more prestige and star power. The theatrics alone would be hilarious and a welcoming change, and draw a wider audience of fans that typically would not tune into the championship game or half-time show."

Yankovic is having a good month, with his very first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 — due, in part, to his releasing a video a day from the album, for eight days.

"It's my best album to date," Weird Al told Speakeasy last month, regarding the success. "I took advantage of the viral nature of the internet and gave people something to be excited about."

Weird Al Yankovic and Lady Gaga bury their beef >>

The NFL did not respond to the Wall Street Journal's request for a comment. As of Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 6, the petition has more than 16,000 signatures.

Angry goat terrorizes town and sends victims running for cover

Angry Goat GIF 1

You know, when you buy a motorcycle, everyone warns you about the danger of cars. But no one warns you about one very real danger — goat attacks. Just one more reason to wear a helmet, people.

Angry Goat GIF 2

We're trying to give the goat the benefit of the doubt here, but we can't find an offense with this gentle woman. She's minding her own business, and she's even using a reusable shopping bag! You'd think the goat would appreciate her eco-consciousness. There's just no pleasing some people, er, goats.

Angry Goat GIF 3

While there's a long-standing superstition that it's bad luck if a black cat crosses your path, we're pretty sure this village is going to amend that superstition to involve a goat.

Angry Goat GIF 4

If you've ever questioned the importance of working out or you've put your health on the back burner, this should give you plenty of incentive to get your cardio on. Angry goats are surprisingly swift. Just think of outrunning one as practice for the zombie apocalypse.

When in doubt, shout it out. This guy shelves his masculinity in favor of fleeing up a light pole and screaming. But hey, we don't blame him. This angry goat is the stuff nightmares are made of.

Drake's emotions go up in flames when he calls RiRi the devil

Clearly, there are some unresolved feelings on the "Hold On, We're Going Home" hit-maker's part, and for whatever reason, he appears to think that Rihanna's the devil.

VIDEO: Drake finds out the hard way that everyone hates him >>

According to E! News, during his recent performance for the OVO Fest in Toronto, Canada, on Monday, the rapper performed his latest single, "Days in The East," and flashed fiery images of the Barbadian beauty in the background, along with the number six (this happened three times, making the numbers 666), thus implying she's the devil. Um, what?

VIDEO: Are Rihanna and Drake the new Beyoncé and Jay Z? >>

The new single is said to be inspired by his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, and according to Hollywood Life, the lyrics to the song read, "Why you keep askin' me about her? She's not here right now, she's not here right now. Why am I the one you wanna get into it with for the drama? I've got a lot to say, and that's the last thing a n**** wanna hear right now..."

So, what does Rihanna think about this latest dis? She appears to be unconcerned and is yet to comment on the situation. But, according to Hollywood Life, a source close to the "We Found Love" singer has revealed just what she thinks about the situation.

Drake & Rihanna's steamy duet sparks romance rumors >>

"It's pathetic," the source told the publication. "A real man would just come out and be like 'I don't like you.'

"Not this indirect type of bulls***. It's real pathetic and flattering at the same time, though," the source added.

Arrested Development Season 5 is happening (eventually)

Remember everything we wanted from Season 4? >>

Netflix's chief content officer, Ted Sarandos, spoke with USA Today and said the filming and release of Arrested Development Season 5 is "just a matter of when." Sarandos said he was "positive" another season was on the table, it was just a matter of working out scheduling conflicts.

Arrested Development fans may remember similar issues with Season 4. Due to the actors' busy schedules, showrunners were forced to alter their style to accommodate everyone. Most of the season followed each of the Bluths in separate adventures, showing very little onscreen collaboration. And of the times when multiple actors were on the screen together, many of the scenes were actually shot individually in front of a green screen and the two actors' scenes were cut together. Sadly, many fans disliked the new story-telling procedures and were disheartened by how little the family appeared onscreen together.

There's always money in the banana stand! Bluth-approved recipes >>

It sounds like Sarandos is on your side, though. He admitted the claims were "fair criticism." It sounds like Netflix, the showrunners and the cast are doing their best to make it up to fans, too. The wait may be long, but we're sure they're doing everything possible to reunite more of the cast for Season 5 production in order to bring fans the true "family" experience they missed.

Can you make the wait? If you lasted the seven years between Season 3 and Season 4, we think you can make it a little longer for Arrested Development Season 5. Grab a frozen banana and calm down.

Shenae Grimes and Josh Beech's new fashion venture

It's sold exclusively on TwoHalvesStore.com and we immediately fell for its edgy vibe. The collection features T-shirts, necklaces, earrings, rings and more.

So what can you expect from the line? Two Halves blends Shenae's signature boho rocker style and Josh's punk rock roots to create a cool boy-meets-girl, '60s-meets-'80s, East-meets-West vibe. Eager to find out more about the collection, we picked Shenae and Josh's brains for their inspiration behind a few of our favorite pieces.

Two Halves, two minds

Charmer Ring ($55)

Charmer Ring ($55)

She says: I've always wanted a big snake ring and I've hunted far and wide but never found a great one that fit my finger (I have baby hands!) so I really wanted to make one for the first collection. The adjustable ring fits sizes 4-8 and just looks rad, plain and simple.

He says: A snake ring in antique finish or gold... What's not to like? This is one of the strongest pieces in the first collection in my opinion and I can't wait to see people rocking it around the globe.

Warrior Necklace ($75)

Warrior Necklace ($75)

She says: Though it's hard to choose, I'd have to say this (in both finishes) is my favorite piece of the whole collection because it's the first one we made. We're always taking trips out to the desert and on one particular trip, I found an amazing old arrowhead. Without any particular use for it at the time, I brought it home knowing it would inspire me in some way or another down the line. Before we knew it, we were sourcing a manufacturer to get it made and the birth of Two Halves as a clothing and accessories brand was well on its way.

He says: I love the warrior necklace. It's the first product we did and it kinda sparked the whole idea for the Two Halves store, so this piece will always be special to me.

Tree Chopper Antique Finish Necklace (currently sold out)

Tree Chopper Antique Finish Necklace (currently sold out)

She says: This was Josh's baby out of the whole collection. While he loved the other necklace designs, he wanted to do one that was more male influenced and what's more manly than a primitive axe?! He was very specific about the idea and walked me through sketching it. We work very closely with our manufacturer and when we went in to see the sample, they literally brought my sketch and Josh's brainchild to life. It was incredible!

He says: The first piece that I designed so obviously I love it!!! It has already sold out on our store once so I am super stoked.

Skull Logo Tee ($30)

Skull Logo Tee ($30)

She says: I love this tee and we will soon be releasing other styles with this logo too! The skull with the headdress was inspired by a recent tattoo of Josh's along with our infinite love of skulls, biker culture, Halloween and Native American artifacts. I initially sketched this image in pencil and our incredible graphic designer Jon Barmby and his illustrator pal Lloyd Stratton recreated it digitally. It's timeless and is a beautiful summation of the two aesthetics from which we pull our inspiration... boho biker at its best.

He says: It's our logo on a tee, inspired by one of my recent tattoos. I can't wait to have more products with this [design] as I love the design and everything that it represents for me and the wifey.

Hollywood Misfit Crop ($25)

Hollywood Misfit Crop ($25)

She says: I was adamant [about] doing a comfy one-size-fits-all crop top because they're all I wear in the summer. He told me to come up with a list of slogans and the one that really stood out to him was "Hollywood Misfit." We've both worked in the entertainment industry for years in different capacities and struggled to find a personal connection to the glitz and glam that go hand in hand with the careers we love. In a way, the "Hollywood" in the slogan is really just a metaphor for mainstream society and pop culture. We believe a lot of people exist within it, around it or beside it who feel like misfits in one way or another as well.

He says: If I was a chick I would rock one. In fact, if I was Rocky in Rocky 2 running up the beach with Apollo Creed I would 100 percent rock one too. These are badass.

Brooklyn residents respond to signs that urge them to dress modestly

$
0
0

The sign, an unassuming blue and white, reads:

“Dear resident, guest, visitor, PLEASE DRESS MODESTLY. This is a Jewish neighborhood.”

Well, huh. My first question would have to be "What is 'modest' exactly?" I know how I define it — and I'm pretty conservative thanks to my religious beliefs — but I have no idea how these particular Jewish people decide what is modest and what isn't. Perhaps they'd see my calf-length mom-pris (they are a thing and I am bringing them back!) and short-sleeved T-shirt and think I was a floozie. Or maybe not.

"Crown Heights is actually a pretty liberal neighborhood and the neighborhood is diverse," says resident Janet Joshenbaum. "There must be a serious controversy within the community about these signs."

Crown Heights wouldn't be the first place to try and raise the public standard of decency. Some cathedrals, churches, mosques, synagogues and even secular places like gyms and courthouses have their own dress codes. Yet those are private property. Who's to say what's appropriate on a public street?

Does one religion, even if it does make up the majority of a community, get to decide how everyone dresses? This isn't the first time this type of thing has happened in this area. In 2012 a Jewish sect posted signs with "LONG SKIRT, LONG LIFE" in both Hebrew and English. (It should be noted that no group has claimed the current signs.)

Janet, who is Jewish, does not follow the strict dress code and says there is an understanding on both sides of the community. "I use the mikvah (ritual bath for married women) there, and show up in uncovered hair and pants, both of which are not allowed for community members, but they still welcome me because they would rather have me come to the mikvah and fulfill that commandment than not."

Many feel however that the sign unfairly targets women, an assertion Janet says isn't true. "Men wearing shorts and a sleeveless top would also be looked as outsiders and not appropriate. Many men there wear full suits in the summer, and all men wear long pants and shirts with collars."

It still rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Annie Carlin, who also lives in Brooklyn, says, "This is not cool — not only because of the not particularly veiled misogyny, but also because I don't have a problem with anyone's religion until they try to impose it on me."

In the meantime local residents have taken to message boards to protest the "Jewish neighborhood" label as exclusionary while others are protecting the posters as free speech. How do you decide how far one should go to appease their neighbors?

"Yes we can ignore the signs but their existence impinges on my ability to walk around this neighborhood and feel comfortable, which in a public, diverse space should be a given for everyone," Annie says. "I'm free to ignore stares and comments I receive when I walk around too — but it doesn't mean they don't make me uncomfortable."

Akon says Beyoncé and Jay Z's marriage is all about business

$

INTERVIEW: Laurieann Gibson on how Akon made her into Harlee >>

When Akon was approached by TMZ reporters earlier this week, he offered his personal observation, which implied the Bey Z relationship is more about the Benjamins than good old-fashioned love.

"Their relationship has been more of a business to the outside world than an actual relationship," the "Smack That" singer said to TMZ.

Akon also made a valid point, saying that when two prominent figures become involved with each other, then it's only natural that they open themselves up to the scrutiny of the general public. "If you become a public figure and you have a relationship, your relationship also becomes public," he said. "So if you don't open up to the public, they will naturally speculate."

In the case of Beyoncé and Jay Z's relationship, Akon's theory certainly rings true. In 2014 alone, rumors about infidelity and divorce have run rampant about Bey Z, as the two refuse to address any of the gossip head on. Though the couple is currently on tour together, the media is convinced they are heading for splitsville. Beyoncé added fuel to the flames last month when she changed lyrics to a song about infidelity while on the stage, and she seemed to direct the ditty at her hubby. However, the "Irreplaceable" songstress is consistently posting happy family photos on Instagram, which include Jay and their daughter, Blue Ivy, which only serve to add to confusion about the status of their marriage.

Are we done gossiping about Beyoncé and Jay Z's impending split yet? >>

If Beyoncé and Jay Z don't want the public to speculate about their relationship, then they might want to take Akon's advice and be a little bit more forthcoming. However, judging by the conflicting information given by Beyoncé, as well as the complete absence of facts, it's quite possible that speculation and talk is exactly what this so-called corporate couple wants.

Ricky Gervais chases sex and zombies with David Brent in Life On the Road

Life on the Road

Life on the Road

Ricky Gervais can't stop creating entertainment. And he can't seem to let go of David Brent, the character he played on the British series, The Office. We don't mind, because we think the kooky underachiever is hilarious. He recently created a series of YouTube videos, called Life On The Road/Learn Guitar with David Brent, where he gives pathetic music lessons.

Ricky Gervais teaches us how to play guitar >>

Turns out, these these little videos were all a set up for a feature film called Life on the Road. BBC Films announced in a recent press release that the film will go into production in 2015 and be shot in Britain.

So, what exactly is the premise of the movie? We all remember that David Brent (Gervais) was laid off from Wernham Hogg and received a severance package (called a redundancy in Britain). We assume the money finally ran out, because now Brent works as a traveling salesman, hawking cleaning products.

Amy Adams paints freakish, sad eyes in new Burton flick Big Eyes>>

But all work and no play makes David Brent a dull boy, so in his free time, he's self-financing a tour with his band, hoping to become a rock star. We can't wait to watch Brent go in search of the rock-and-roll lifestyle, get grungy, maybe even acquire groupies. We're glad he's giving the goofball a zombie makeover and bringing him back to life.

In this video, David Brent goes through a series of chords, but claims he's not going to teach the viewers all of them, because, "You won't need them all." We love his arrogance. He also says playing guitar is about "doing your own thing. Don't listen to me. Turn [the video] off." Classic confusing advice from our favorite slacker.

What also surprised us is that it appears as if some people have watched Gervais' guitar lessons, not realizing they were fake. Is it possible someone out there doesn't know who Ricky Gervais is?

A YouTuber called John Smith left this comment:

"I dig this dude's attitude (do it your way, not mine) but I came here as an absolute beginner so I was hoping he would start with the basics. Anyhow, great song, and respect for singing about the everyday (repping) and keeping it real generally. One criticism though; my mate, who can play Dylan and everything — even bits of lead — watched this and said this dude's fine on chords but 'a bit heavy handed with his right hand'. Sounded great to me though."

Megan Fox tells Turtle-haters to F-off at press conference >>

Whether or not John Smith is a real guitar student doesn't matter to us. The important thing is that Ricky Gervais is using David Brent to entertain the world once again.

Gervais' current show, Derek, can be streamed on Netflix.

Chris Pratt cleans up well on the cover of Esquire magazine

He's topping off the season with the September cover of Esquire magazine, looking dapper and refined in his gray, fitted suit. It's a little different than his superhero wardrobe from the Marvel film. However, he almost didn't audition for the role.

Chris Pratt does Eminem better than Eminem, after revealing this… >>

Pratt shared with the magazine, "When Guardians of the Galaxy was pitched to me, I said, 'I don't think so.' I just didn't picture myself getting the role. I didn't want to go and embarrass myself like I did when I auditioned for G.I. Joe a couple of years previously. I went in there, and halfway through I saw the director's eyes just glaze over. It made sense—I was a little heavy and out of shape. I was not gonna play someone from G.I. Joe. I did not look like a G.I. Joe action figure come to life."

ChrisPrattesquire

The sitcom star changed his physique for the role and buffed up his normally chubby body. It is a role that is going to change his entire career and make his level of fame skyrocket to superstar status.

The actor has a grounded home life, though. He's married to actress Anna Faris and they have a son together. The two met on the set of 2007's Take Me Home Tonight while she was married to Ben Indra. The actors stayed in touch after the shoot and when her first marriage broke up, she called to tell him about it. That's when Pratt knew he was going to marry The House Bunny star.

Chris Pratt admits his priorities shifted after the birth of his son >>

The Guardians of the Galaxy actor is very protective of his family. Before he left to film a movie in Louisiana, Pratt bought his wife a gun to ward off stalkers. He's OK with her "blowing their f***ing brains out."

With life so sweet right now, Pratt doesn't want his fans to be deceived about his privileged life.

He summed up, "I do believe in destiny. I'm lucky. But I didn't walk into 7-Eleven, buy a scratch ticket, scratch it off, and star in Guardians of the Galaxy."

The new face of NARS has wrinkles and we love it

My thoughts are trained to gravitate toward youth. I imagine up-and-coming models like Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, or 20-something actresses like Blake Lively and Jennifer Lawrence. To me, sadly, beauty is usually defined through stereotypically "fresh" faces — but NARS and Marc Jacobs Beauty are redefining "fresh" this fall, opting for mature faces to front their new campaigns.

NARS has decided to use 68-year-old British actress Charlotte Rampling in press for their Audacious Lipstick fall cosmetics line, while Marc Jacobs just released images of 64-year-old Hollywood darling Jessica Lange.

Charlotte Rampling

Charlotte Rampling

You can still see the lines on actresses' faces when the brands could have left those "flaws" on the cutting room floor. The ads speak to what cosmetics should be: a simple enhancement of your experiences in life. Makeup should give you more confidence, but it's not what makes you more beautiful. It's just another reason for those laugh lines.

Jessica Lange

Jessica Lange

Now that I've seen these images, I'm surprised we haven't seen more mature, natural beauties among the younger crop we always see in magazines — because at the end of the day, youth fades quickly but true beauty never dies out. Both Jessica and Charlotte are stunning examples of aging gracefully, and capture the purest idea of what makes someone beautiful; it's exuding depth and character instead of perfectly toned figures or wrinkle-free faces.

Lines give these images life. And, having really lived (in your makeup or out of it) is all that matters.

My favorite course is the appetizer. It gives me the chance to tinker with small food surprises that have big visual impact. I guess that is what I love doing the most, because I can get lost in my own little world. When I have guests, I aim for appetizer platters with different kinds of foods in small portions. These platters are a beautiful sight to see. For that, I like creating quick and easy recipes, because the easier they are, the more I can make.

Tartine with blue cheese and pan roasted grapes recipe

This tartine, for instance, is a very simple recipe but absolutely gorgeous and with unique flavors. How can you go wrong with blue cheese and roasted grapes served on toasted bread? You won't fail with this one, I promise.

Blue cheese and pan-roasted grape tartine recipe

Yields 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sweet red grapes, halved and seeded
  • 3 tablespoons port wine
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ounces blue cheese (any kind), crumbled
  • 4 ounces ricotta cheese
  • Ground pepper
  • 4 slices bread
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Directions:

  1. To a small saucepan over low-medium heat, add the grapes, port and sugar. Cook until the sauce becomes slightly thick. Let it cool.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the blue cheese, ricotta and pepper until smooth.
  3. Toast the slices of bread either on a griddle, in the oven or in a toaster.
  4. Distribute the blue cheese mixture on top of each slice of bread, and then top each with the grapes.
  5. Garnish with mint leaves, if using.

Note: The mint is optional, but it gives a hint of good flavor to the grapes.

Scandalous? True Detective creator accused of plagiarism

True Detective has been a dark and mesmerizing trip >>

Davis and Padgett claim key sentences from True Detective are taken directly from Thomas Ligotti's The Conspiracy Against the Human Race. The philosophical work, published in 2010, asks some key questions about the human race. Namely, should humans voluntarily end their existence and do we know what it means to be human?

According to Slate, as a key example of plagiarism, Davis and Padgett point to the following lines from character Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey): "I think about the hubris it must take to yank a soul out of nonexistence into this meat... force a life into this thresher." At points throughout The Conspiracy Against the Human Race, Ligotti reportedly refers to people being "stolen from nonexistence." He says, "We are meat," and asks, "Why should generations unborn be spared entry into the human thresher?"

Primetime Emmy nominations 2014 >>

Here's where the argument gets a little muddled: Pizzolatto admits to using Ligotti's writings as heavy inspiration for the lines in True Detective. He even told Wall Street Journal writer, Michael Calia, that the premiere episode contained "two lines in particular that were specifically phrased in such a way as to signal Ligotti admirers." It's not like the writer and creator is hiding his inspiration away so he can steal more lines for the second season. From Pizzolatto's perspective, he is using these quotes as a way of paying homage to a piece of literature he admires. He isn't stealing the ideas as his own, but using them to further a character he's creating.

Padgett doesn't seem to agree that Pizzolatto was paying homage to Ligotti by citing his work. Padgett argues that lifting Ligotti's work without permission or attribution "may have or may not have been a consciously malicious decision, but in any case it was neither honorable nor reverential."

Is Jessica Chastain going to be on True Detective? >>

And, in fact, Padgett asserts Ligotti isn't the only author to have his idea stolen from Pizzolatto for the show. Padgett says dialogue for the show also comes from William S. Burroughs' Ah Pook Is Here and Other Texts, Albert Einstein's words and Alan Moore's comic books.

Despite the strong accusations, Pizzolatto and HBO have yet to comment. Ligotti, whose work is at the center of the argument, also has yet to give a statement.

Do you think Pizzolatto is wrong for using Ligotti's writings in his dialogue without giving the literature credit?

Rihanna creates spoof video of Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans >>

Lowell posted a photo of herself cradling her growing baby bump with the caption, "#it'sofficial #4months @tylerbaltierramtv."

Teen Mom confirms second pregnancy

The father of Lowell's child is longtime boyfriend, Tyler Baltierra, who was also featured on MTV's 16 and Pregnant alongside Lowell in 2009. The young couple recently celebrated nine years together and Baltierra also commemorated the milestone on Instagram. "Everytime I look at this picture of us, I literally can't stop grinning from ear to ear," he wrote in the caption. "Next month will be 9 years with this AMAZING woman! The best years of my life started the day I walked into seventh grade music class & saw her. I love you babe!  #SoulMate #Lover #BestFriend #MyAngel."

Though this is the first official statement about the pregnancy from Lowell and Baltierra, Lowell's mother, April Stotts, spilled the beans to Us Weekly back in May. "She was crying when she knew for sure and so I was like, 'Are you happy? Are you upset?" Stotts said. "And she was like, 'I'm happy!' She's keeping the baby."

Lowell had also hinted at the pregnancy, along with her intention to keep the baby, around the time her mom outed her. At the end of April, Lowell posted a screenshot of one of her own tweets on Instagram. The tweet says, "I am an adult and I can tell when I'm ready and idc what ANYONE says I'm gonna do me! We ARE READY for a baby.  #HatersGonnaHate." The caption reads, "That's right #sorrynotsorry I'm not 16 anymore."

Lowell and Baltierra are still fairly young to become parents at just 21 years of age and it's hard to say if they are totally ready to raise a child but, at least, the pair hasn't run into as much trouble as some of their fellow Teen Mom alums. Season 2 star Jenelle Evans was busted for heroin last April, Amber Portwood went to jail for drug-related issues in 2012 and Farrah Abraham was busted for DUI in March of 2013, in addition to performing in a pornographic film.

REVIEW: Stevie Nicks releases disappointing new track, "The Dealer"

So catty! Stevie Nicks says Reese Witherspoon is "too old" for what? >>

Nicks was about 34 when the song was originally recorded and it seems as if she still had a bit of maturing to do with her songwriting. The concept is simple enough: Nicks is coming to terms with past transgressions and unrequited love. Heavy stuff, sure. However, the lyricism is a little immature. We can appreciate that it was written when she was considerably younger, but by mid-30 and well into her career, we expect more. With lines like, "But, you'll just almost stay here, I'll just almost hold you," the lyrics, at some points, seem more like Nicks was grasping for syllables more than good song content.

Furthermore, there's not much musical growth. In a way, it makes sense that Nicks' music would still sound so strikingly similar to everything she's released in the past. Again, this song was written long ago, as are all the other songs on the album. However, she could have used this chance to reboot them with slightly more modern music. Instead, the song still sounds exactly like it came from 1979 — you know, when it was a demo that didn't make the cut for Tusk. This, of course, will appeal to the vast majority of her longtime fans. However, it leaves us underwhelmed.

Is it the worst song ever? No. In every other way, Nicks will continue to be our golden goddess of the music world. Hopefully, the rest of 24 Karat Gold will shine light on brighter, actual gems that have long been forgotten. Just don't expect us to spend any more time with "The Dealer."

Batman v Superman's release gets pushed back again: Is that a bad sign?

Warner Bros. announced today that it's moving the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to March 25, 2016, causing us to worry about our favorite superheroes.

Internet takeover! Oh, how we love the Sad Batman memes >>

The internet was buzzing when it was first announced that Ben Affleck would be the next Batman. Some superhero fans were ecstatic, others, however, were definitely not. Now that the studio has delayed the release of Batman v Superman for a third time, we can't help but wonder if the filmmakers are getting cold feet about the project.

Part of our concern comes from the month Warner Bros. has chosen to premiere the film. March isn't usually considered a good month to release a movie, as most great blockbusters open in the fall, ahead of awards season, or in the beginning of summer. At least, March isn't as sketchy as January, the month that inevitably becomes a sucky movie dumping ground.

Eager Guardians of the Galaxy fans horrified when theaters play wrong movie >>

Super hunk Henry Cavill is set to return as Superman, but the new flick will also be adding some familiar comic book friends. Israeli actress Gal Gadot will be lending her special skills to bring Wonder Woman to life. We can't wait to experience a Wonder Woman of the 21st century. We really hope her viewpoints are as current as ours and that she can battle fiercely alongside Batman and Superman.

It's also rumored that Aquaman will be making an appearance in the film, possibly played by the massively macho Jason Momoa (pictured above), whom you may remember as Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones.

From what we can tell, Batman v Superman has all the delicious ingredients to make a massively entertaining flick, so we're going to remain optimistic... for now. And if the release date changes again, we'll let you know.
