Coolness: Audi conjures Janelle Monáe and M.I.A. holograms

Last night, during an insanely cool bicoastal launch party for the Audi A3, M.I.A. and Janelle Monáe teamed up for duets in both Los Angeles, California, and New York, New York. How did they manage that? No, it didn't involve time-zone math and a private jet. Nor was a TARDIS or DeLorean required, though the technology they used feels almost as cool as a time machine. The duets actually happened via holograms.

Have you heard Janelle Monáe's new single? >>

To celebrate the launch of the new car, Audi held parties in Los Angeles and New York. Monáe performed at the party in Los Angeles, while M.I.A. held down the fort in New York. For most of the parties, their solo performances were enough to keep the crowd dancing. For the last song, though, Audi projected a hologram of the other performer onstage so the two ladies could team up for a duet. In other words, during the hi-tech performance, a hologram M.I.A. joined Monáe onstage in Los Angeles while a hologram version of Monáe appeared alongside M.I.A. in New York. Pretty bada** right?

Janelle Monae, M.I.A. Audi A3 launch party

Audi went all out for the party and, believe it or not, the holograms weren't the only futuristic touch at the party. Making sure to project (get it?) the image that Audi is clearly built with the future in mind, they used exciting new ways to present the concept. Most notable was an installation that used LED lights and an RGB picture to highlight the car's various "scapes." We get it, Audi — if we're not driving your car, you think we're living in the past. You absolutely win the "cool car company" award.

Can someone please loan M.I.A. $16 million? She owes the NFL >>

This isn't the first time a hologram has been used to entertain the masses. The most notable hologram performance thus far has been the appearance of Tupac at Coachella in 2012 when the late rapper performed alongside Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. How long will it be before we start showing up to hologram concerts happening everywhere at the same time while the actual artist is chillaxin' back home in Los Angeles? Most importantly, is this something we even want?

The future is here. Enjoy it if you dare.

A cool cat lady's condo and catio in Phoenix

Kate Benjamin

Cat style expert Kate Benjamin’s entire business is focused on helping people live stylishly with cats. Benjamin houses 12 cats and has written about cats and design since 2007, currently on her website, Hauspanther. So we wouldn’t expect Benjamin’s polished Phoenix, Arizona, condo to be anything less than inspirational to cat owners who want to create fab, cat-friendly abodes.

“The main motivation for doing what I do isn't just aesthetics, but it's really about keeping cats in happy, loving forever homes,” says Benjamin, who has an eye-catching “Cat Lady” tattoo on her right forearm.

“If I can show cat guardians that there are beautiful, sturdy cat scratchers that they wouldn't mind having in their home, then it may just save that cat's life. The cat can get what she/he needs and the guardians are happy. So it’s a win-win.”

To give fellow feline lovers guidance, she co-authored a forthcoming book called Catification (Tarcher, October 2014) with her business partner, cat behaviorist Jackson Galaxy of Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell.

Debbie Glovatsky is the proud cat mama of two rescues — an 8-year-old tuxedo cat named Waffles and a 1-1/2-year-old orange tabby named Katie — and the clever scribe behind the humorous, award-winning cat blog, GLOGIRLY.com.

“I’ve made my downtown Minneapolis townhouse a comfortable and stylish home for both me and my cats. I love finding well-designed, cat-friendly pieces with a modern aesthetic. Although the kitties probably don’t care if this matches that or if their climbing tower is modern and cool, it gives me lots of smiles and endless photo ops,” says Glovatsky.

“My cats love to watch the world around them, especially from a vantage point way up high. I try to give them their own spaces by some of my biggest windows with cool-looking climbing and perching structures. The more places like these they have to hang out in, the less tempted they are to climb on things I’d rather not find paw prints on.”

Tamar Arslanian is a stylish, savvy and single New York City gal. She writes the popular blog, I Have Cat, and her personal philosophy is, “Just because you have a cat — or any pet for that matter — it doesn't mean your personal style should go out the window.”

“As a single woman with three cats living in a one-bedroom NYC apartment, the last thing I want a potential suitor to think upon entering my home is, "Welcome to Casa Cat!"

To accommodate her three rescue kitties — Haddie, Kip and Petie — Arslanian pulled out all the stops. Some of her cat-friendly design touches include: modern-looking wave shelves in the living room designed for cats; a Cat Hole in the storage area under the steps that hides the litter box; cardboard and replaceable carpet scratchers mounted to the wall, so they take up less space and are aesthetically pleasing; a cat-scratcher replica of the Empire State Building; and KittyBlocks that can be stacked and also double as loungers.

“Most of my non-cat-friendly friends think I'm a bit off my rocker for accommodating to the needs of my cats, but I don't have many of those,” she says. “The rest of my friends love my apartment, and it inspires them when they are decorating theirs!”

After her darling cat, Kirby, suffered a stroke, I Have Cat reader Barbara Pearson built a ramp to help him get up and down the stairs. She also made a ramp, so he could easily maneuver onto the bed and the couch.

“[We used] a tube of Nutri-Cal, which he loved, as bait for him to go down the ramp the first time,” says Pearson. “After that, he used that ramp every day almost until the day he died, just over a year later."

Michelle Williams hits back at the #PoorMichelle haters

Michelle Williams

Destiny's Child is one of the most beloved girl groups of all time. They had great songs, videos and choreography. However, a good portion of their success was due to then-rising star Beyoncé, whose talents shined bright.

But her fellow DC sisters Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have recently caught a lot — and I mean a lot — of flak from internet trolls for not equally living up to Queen Bey.

Williams, in particular, has been the subject of a lot jokes for essentially being the black sheep of the music trio with the everlasting trending topic and meme #PoorMichelle. It's a running joke between social media and the pop blogosphere that has even been catapulted into a website called PoorMichelle.com, full of various GIFs and memes.

On Thursday, April 3, the 33-year-old singer took to Twitter to address the hot topic in the best way ever.

However, Williams isn't just saying that for the sake of being sassy. Being part of one of the most successful girl groups of all time catapulted her to stardom and the machine keeps on rolling. Just a day afterwards, the star appeared on Good Morning America to make a big announcement.

Williams announced that she'll star in a 50-date arena tour of Jesus Christ Superstar alongside Incubus front man Brandon Boyd and *NSYNC band member JC Chasez.

"We got together for the show and I was so honored when they mentioned who I would be performing with," she said of Boyd before giving viewers a teaser performance with him. "This is something like no other."

Moral of this story: Ms. Williams does not need any of your pity.

Why you shouldn't let your kids do a juice cleanse, even if Gwyneth Paltrow does

Kids drinking fresh juice

In light of their "conscious uncoupling," US Weekly reported that Chris Martin was fed up with Gwyneth Paltrow "taking her children's diet to the extreme." Apparently, Paltrow and Martin fought over what the kids could and couldn't eat. She pushed macrobiotic foods and juice cleanses while “he thought they should just be kids and have ice cream every once in a while.” But is it really cruel and unusual punishment to put your kids on a juice cleanse?

Juice cleansing is becoming an all-American pastime. You know something has really arrived when you can buy it, in bulk, at Costco. So of course I bought the shrink-wrapped set of giant bottles of organic fresh-pressed juice when I saw them last year. I learned two things from my three-day juice cleanse: First, I like to chew my food. Drinking all my calories was incredibly unsatisfying; juice goes down way better with food. Second, while I love a good exercise in deprivation as much as the next gal, it wasn't the health revolution I hoped it would be. But I'm a grown-up and if I want to spend all day with a grumbly tummy, then my suffering is my own prerogative. Kids are a different story.

"You know something has really arrived when you can buy it, in bulk, at Costco."

A New York Post article profiles four young juice-cleanse devotees: a 6-year-old, a 13-year-old, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old. According to their mothers, the girls (because of course they are all girls) wanted to try the juices they saw their mothers and other family members using. In the case of the first grader, she simply thought the colors were pretty and thinks the juices are tasty and her mom makes sure she eats solid food too. But the older three girls, one a high-school athlete, are doing the cleanse 100 percent, with one reportedly losing 15 pounds in 10 days.

“Prom is coming up and it's the best time to try it. I wanted to fit into a smaller dress, and see if I was able to see a difference in my body,” says the 18-year-old. “I'm doing another one again in a couple of days. I want to lose more.”

If reading that made you uneasy, you're not the only one. Even as the kid-cleansing industry is growing rapidly — Dherbs.com, a California-based company that sells "Children's Cleanse liquid extracts" for $99, reports an increase of almost 50 percent over the last few years — more and more experts are becoming concerned.

First, experts caution it may start an unhealthy relationship with food. Marisol Gonzalez, M.D., a specialist in adolescent medicine in Summit, New Jersey, told the Post the trend is "distressing," adding that awareness of cleanses at a very young age could lead to eating disorder behaviors.

Second, nutritionists point out that juices (unlike smoothies that use the entire fruit or vegetable) lack essential nutrition that growing kids need. Over 60 percent of an apple's fiber, along with the majority of vitamins, is concentrated in the peel so juicing a fruit can markedly lower the nutritional value. Indeed, a quick glance at the nutritional panel on the popular cleanse I tried shows all the juices to be high in sugar and low in fiber and protein. No wonder they went right through me (literally).

“The [kids are] quoting Dr. Oz to me,” says Gonzalez. “[But] unless you're doing [a medical procedure such [as] a colonic [or a] colonoscopy, kids need to eat. She adds that with all the concern about childhood obesity parents often come from a good place, wanting their kids to lose a few pounds and "eat healthy" but the body needs a certain number of calories for your heart to beat. "If [you cleanse] before puberty, you can delay growth,” she says.

Lastly, this stuff ain't cheap. Even my Costco bargain juices were pricey. One of the mothers of the profiled teens reports that the five-day $600 intensive program she and her 17-year-old daughter are doing together costs double what she would usually pay for groceries for her family of four. Indeed, the primary complaint the 6-year-old's mom has about her daughter drinking her cleanse juices is that they're so expensive.

But enough of what the experts say — would you let your child try a juice cleanse?

Did Austin Mahone and Justin Bieber collab for The Secret?

Selena, Shmelena. The gossip hounds have been in full roar over a reported rift in the friend status of Justin Bieber and Austin Mahone. Apparently never having heard the term "bros before hos," gossip columnists tend to believe the two pop stars had it in for each other after both dating Selena Gomez. That is clearly not the case, though. Need proof? Look no further than Bieber's Instagram account where just yesterday he posted an in-studio picture alongside Mahone. Gasp!

Gomez says "So long" to Justin and "Well, hello there" to Austin >>

The photo has many wondering if we should expect a collaboration between the two buddies in the very near future. Like, maybe on Mahone's upcoming release, The Secret? As awesome (and not entirely impossible) as that would be, Beliebers and Mahomies probably shouldn't hold their collective breath just yet. Mahone's people recently announced the May 27 release of The Secret and made no mention of a Bieber collaboration, though they were quick to share that Mahone's single featuring Pitbull, "Mmm Yeah," would appear on the seven-track (plus bonus songs) debut.

Considering the picture appeared yesterday and the album was announced today (on Mahone's birthday), it seems unlikely the track could appear on the album. That's cutting it a little close, even for our hi-tech society. Then again, the release didn't announce a full track listing, no doubt to create some whispers. Perhaps the next announcement will feature Bieber's name.

Austin's on the list: 5 Hottest young artists of 2013 >>

Fret not, though, Mahomies. While your boy's press relations people are remaining tight-lipped about a Bieber collab, they shared some other exciting news. Are you ready to see Mahone in person? Starting in June, the singer will embark on a 26-city tour. Is he coming to a city near you?

Kristen Bell sings Frozen song live using character voices

Actress Kristen Bell sang her Frozen character Anna's song "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" live and performed it complete with the voice she used to bring the little princess to life in the film.

During a special event last February to commemorate the hit movie Frozen, Bell and several of her fellow costars performed tracks from the film, singing them just like they did in the animated feature. The 34-year-old star sang one of the film's hits, "Do You Want to Build a Snowman," and did it using the voices of her character, Anna, which sounded adorable.

In support of Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard's #NOKIDSPOLICY >>

Bell used all the voices she made to portray Anna, which began when she was a little toddler princess to when she became a lonely teenager. The "Snowman" song was performed to show when Anna realized her sister, Elsa, had shut her out of her life, which was done to protect her from her older sibling's magic freezing powers.

For years, Anna tried to get Elsa to come out and play, hardy ever seeing her sister at all. The song chronicles the years from when Elsa inadvertently hurt little Anna with her powers to when the pair was teenagers and it was time to crown the elder Elsa.

Alyssa Milano gets Kristen Bell's anti-paparazzi plan twisted >>

During the event, not only did Bell perform this song, but she also sang "Love is an Open Door" with her costar Santino Fontana, who played one of her love interests, Prince Hans (aka the bad guy).

Of course, the special showing would not be complete without the big hit of the Disney film, "Let It Go," which was also beautifully performed by Idina Menzel, who portrayed Elsa in the film.

You can watch Kristen Bell sing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman" in the video below.

VIDEO: Justin Bieber jealous of Orlando Bloom

Is Orlando Bloom coming between Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber? That's what Hollywood Life is reporting after Gomez and Bloom were allegedly caught flirting at the We Day California conference on March 26.

After the 21-year-old gave a riveting speech, she made sure to pose with the Pirates of the Caribbean star and Seth Rogen after the event. Gomez also shared the snapshot on her Instagram page.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez: Coming to a town near you >>

The gossip site is suggesting that she posted the photo to not only make Bieber jealous, but to spite the "Boyfriend" singer. Rogen has been public about his massive disdain for the Canadian pop star.

A source told the site, "Their drama always starts because they don't trust each other. It's not only Selena that gets jealous — Justin is just as bad — he's the one that started the latest fight. He accused Selena of flirting with Orlando Bloom."

Reportedly, Gomez also gets upset when her on-again, off-again boyfriend hangs out with Miley Cyrus.

Selena Gomez lets sun in where it normally doesn't shine >>

The source continued, "He knows that it bugs Selena when he hangs out with Miley so of course he wanted her to know about it, because he's feeling insecure and he wants to make her feel the same way."

However, Gossip Cop has stomped all over that story. While there is always drama between the two young lovebirds, this story doesn't hold any weight. Their sources confidently said, "This is total nonsense."

Emma Stone may be one of the hottest young actresses in Hollywood, but she has a love for one of the biggest girl groups in the history of music. On a Thursday appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, she revealed how strong that love really was.

The late-night talk-show host asked her about a hidden talent.

Nude selfie of Emma Stone is a fake! Well, maybe >>

He said, "I understand you have a gift, and I wanted to challenge you on this gift tonight. You are able to do what?"

She replied, "Their autographs," referencing the Spice Girls, who hit it big in 1996 with their first single, "Wannabe."

Stone continued, "I have not done this, in all fairness, since I was about 10 years old, and I did a quick little reminder in the dressing room beforehand. But yes, when I was 10, I memorized all of their autographs on their merchandise."

The Help actress was then asked to test her skills on national television. Kimmel held up a photo of each of the girls and one after the other, Stone nailed their autographs. She even made sure to add their chosen icons to the signatures.

It's no secret that she has loved the Spice Girls since she was a little girl. In March, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star was on the receiving end of a video from Scary Spice herself, Mel B. The clip actually moved the 25-year-old to tears.

However, don't tell Mel B that Baby Spice is really Stone's favorite.

VIDEO: Kendall Jenner’s cornrows cause uproar

Kendall Jenner Rocks Cornrows:

Who knew that a trying out a new hairdo could cause so much drama? Just look at Kendall Jenner. On Tuesday, big sister Kim Kardashian posted a photo of Kendall and her cornrow hairdo on her blog with a caption that read "It's fun to experiment with new hair looks! Kendall and I are both trying out cornrows!"

But it wasn't all fun and games when the official Twitter account for Marie Claire magazine got a little stumbled on words when trying to compliment the 18-year-old model's look.

While the Marie Claire tweeter's intentions were likely for the best, the Twitterverse quickly turned on the magazine, questioning whether they were aware that this particular hair trend has actually been around for ages. As you may have guessed, this questioning sentiment came with racial implications and created a media storm for the publication. Tweet after tweet continued to direct rage at the magazine, with the hashtags #BlackTwitter and #BoldBraids added to some messages.

Shortly afterwards, Marie Claire tried to make amends for the tweet, apologizing to anyone who was offended and emphasizing that their message was "poorly worded." At time of press, the magazine's apology tweet had more than double the amount of retweets than the initial tweet, so it's safe to say that their explanation was heard loud and clear.

All the controversy surrounding the cornrows has yet to affect Kendall, who hasn't responded to the headlines. But that might be because she's a little too busy re-adjusting to life back in Los Angeles after the Kardashian family getaway in Thailand.

Valerie Bertinelli on weight gain: "I feel so much shame"

It's hard to stay in shape at any age, but it's even tougher in Hollywood. Valerie Bertinelli addressed her recent weight gain on The Talk on Wednesday.

It was a difficult situation for the Hot in Cleveland star because she was a spokesperson for Jenny Craig and lost about 50 pounds by 2009. However, a broken foot that she sustained while exercising three months ago led to a sedentary life again.

Live from TV Land: Hot in Cleveland gets the laughs >>

She told the daytime talk show hosts, "I broke my foot three months ago and I've not been able to work out."

While she was dealing with the injury, Bertinelli was also struggling with the emotional side of putting on a few pounds.

"I started thinking, 'Why do I feel so much shame? Because the cameras are on me? Because the paparazzi can't wait to get a picture of me looking like I've gained a few pounds?'" said the 53-year-old actress. "We have to take the shame out of it! It's not fair."

Julie Chen talks smack about Jenny McCarthy >>

The former One Day at a Time star said, "I have gained a few pounds since I broke my foot, and it started to panic me at a certain point, and I thought, 'No, wait a minute. This is my body. I'm almost 54, I broke my foot, I haven't been able to move. My doctor even said, 'Do not get your heart rate up.' So I couldn't do anything. But now I'm back in the gym and I'm ready to go."

Bertinelli is planning on getting back in shape, but she wants to do it in a healthy way, both mentally and physically.

Then she summed up, to the audience's approval, "I think we all need to give each other a break. Especially women — let's leave each other alone!"

Ke$ha and Pitbull, "Timber"

The fake Pitbull says it all: "This video don't make no sense. I have to speak to my agent." In this hilarious remake of Ke$ha and Pitbull's "Timber," Ke$ha stalks Pitbull, who does everything in his power to avoid her. (This parody was clearly made pre-Ke$ha's rehab, so you will have to frame it in that context.)

Shakira and Rihanna, "Can't Remember to Forget You"

This giggle-worthy knockoff of "Can't Remember to Forget You" features a fake Shakira being cursed by a "throat froggy" that makes her "sing like a goat." When a fake Shakira sings to a fake Rihanna "Don't piss me off or I'll unfriend you" and then proceeds to make her friend nachos to make her feel better for dating jerks like Chris Brown, this video becomes parody gold.

Katy Perry, "Dark Horse"

In an attempt to be the first one out of the parody gate, sometimes parody artists are a bit hasty in their mockery and — as is the case with this "Dark Horse" parody — the result can be a bit lame. What makes this poke at Perry worthwhile are the "cameos" from John Mayer, Robin Thicke, Miley Cyrus and Russell Brand.

We were really hoping to find a parody of "Happy" that featured Pharrell's goofy hat. While we failed in that effort, we did find this little gem that parodies "Happy" and all the zombies who are obsessed with video game apps. "Flap your wings if you think Flappy Bird is a douche." Bah, ha, ha!

MUSIC REVIEW: Johnny Cash lands Out Among the Stars

There is no one — rock head, redneck or otherwise — who doesn't love Johnny Cash. When the man in black passed away in 2003 at the age of 71, an entire nation mourned. Throughout his life, he took on so many roles. From a grinning and drug-addled bad boy to a stern and steady Christian man, Cash grew and transformed in the same way our nation did throughout his seven decades of walking the earth.

Rosanne Cash "A Feather is Not a Bird" review >>

There were high points and low times, but Cash always came out on top... except perhaps during the '80s, when Out Among the Stars was recorded and subsequently "lost." It was during that era that Cash tried numerous times to restore his hold on the country and was dropped twice from record labels. It was a dark time for the man in black, though perhaps not the darkest. By the time the '90s and Rick Rubin rolled around, Cash was a "legend" but not a chart-topper. That changed with the help of Rubin, Cash's 2002 cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" and his death.

It's sad how life works sometimes. A whole new generation discovered Cash in all his glory just as he faded from earth. After his passing, fans were gifted with two more acoustic albums, American V and American VI. They were decent albums, but in terms of Cash's long and prestigious career, the tracks often seemed like what was found at the bottom of the barrel or the back of the storage closet.

Enter Out Among the Stars. Dubbed a "lost" album from the '80s, it gave many critics their doubts. Lost albums are often lost for a reason... they're no good. And everyone knows this was a rough time for Cash. At one point during the '80s, he wrote a song parodying himself ("Chicken in Black") in an intentional effort to annoy his label and be let go. The songs from this album came from those same recording sessions, and yet there's nothing here that Cash should ever be ashamed of.

Watch: Russell Crowe sings Johnny Cash >>

The album opener and title track starts in pure Cash fashion. The song opens with "It's midnight at a liquor store in Texas." So begins the story of a young man down on his luck, a sort of Bonnie-and-Clyde story without the gal. The chorus rings of his grasp on Christianity by calling humans "travelers" and referring to them being weary and shouldering their "burdens." It's easy to see why a track like "Out Among the Stars" may not have fared well in the '80s but is doing so well during such a nostalgic period in American music.

"If I Told You Who It Was" reads like the exact opposite, though still very much in Cash's wheelhouse. The song follows Cash during a visit to Nashville, where he runs into another famous country singer, helps her change her tire and ends up in her hotel room. Gasp! What would June Carter think? The chorus is easy, catchy and boisterous: "She told me it was our little secret and anyway you wouldn't believe it if I told you who it was." The joke (we hope) comes with a clip of Minnie Pearl yelling "Hoooooowdee!" as she was known to do.

Every track on the new album is great, but "Call Your Mother" is especially lovable as Cash's alternative to a breakup song. Instead of mourning the loss of the girl who no longer loves him, Cash seems more concerned with losing out on her family. He reminisces of time spent with her family and gently reminds her to call her mother, tell her they broke up and give his regards to her dad. Only Cash could be so cool about a breakup.

We want a love like Johnny and June: The strongest of celeb couples >>

The stand-out performance has to be "Don't You Think It's Come Our Time," a duet with June Carter Cash. After growing up singing in the Carter Family band, June could harmonize with practically anyone. When she sang with Johnny, though, their voices mirrored each other and reflected sheer perfection. "Our Time" might become one of their best collaborations ever.

While we'll forever miss our Folsom County Jail singer, if Out Among the Stars is the kind of "lost" album we have to look forward to in the future, Johnny Cash fans are looking at another life's worth of spectacular new music by the man in black. Who could ask for a better parting gift?

Is Stephen Colbert the next David Letterman?

Sources from the camp of both CBS and Stephen Colbert are saying that the Colbert Report host is the numero uno choice to be the next Late Show host, and the comedian is ready to dazzle in the spot, according to Mashable.

VIDEO: Jay Leno's sad, star-studded Tonight Show goodbye >>

David Letterman made his retirement announcement to a live audience just yesterday, giving the reason he is turning 67 soon and would like to spend more time with his family. He will end his 22-year run on The Late Show sometime in 2015.

Colbert seems like a natural choice to anchor the show. He has a huge following and he's comfortable handling interviews. Oh, and let's not leave out the fact that he is hilarious.

Entertaining the thought of Colbert as a mainstream late-night host is not without controversy for CBS, of course. The question of whether Colbert can — or will — leave behind his faux-conservative persona to interview more run-of-the-mill non-political celebs is a concern, as well as Colbert's salary requirements.

It's also hard to imagine that the recent Colbert Twitter storm isn't in the back of one or two CBS execs' minds. Last week #CancelColbert went viral when an out-of-context tweet was sent from the show's offical account. Colbert was accused of being racist, and some were calling for Comedy Central to pull the plug on the show altogether.

"The interweb tried to swallow me whole, but I am proud to say that I got lodged in its throat and it hacked me back up like a hastily chewed chicken wing. I'm still here," said Colbert on his show in response to the cancellation campaign.

For now, CBS is remaining tight-lipped regarding the Colbert rumor. "We're not commenting on any rumors or speculation about succession," a spokesperson for the network said.

Regardless if Colbert will be Letterman's successor or not, the changing of the guard will go down much differently for The Late Show with David Letterman than The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In 2013, NBC forced Leno into retirement when it allowed his contract to expire and announced Jimmy Fallon as his replacement.
