Lindsay Lohan's fight with mom over money, cocaine?

Lindsay Lohan and Dina Lohan got into a huge fight after a night of drinking and drug use in New York City.

Lindsay Lohan and Dina Lohan fight, cops called

Dina Lohan might not have been drunk during her interview with Dr. Phil, but she certainly was on Tuesday night when she got into it with daughter Lindsay Lohan. Cops were called to the elder Lohan's Long Island home around 8 a.m. Wednesday after the pair returned from a late night of partying.

Lindsay Lohan's bullied past brought out by Katie >>

According to TMZ, the pair started arguing when Lindsay wanted to go to a hotel in New York City and Dina wanted to return home via chauffeured SUV "to avoid paying for a taxi."

The pair apparently argued in the car and Lindsay eventually got her father Michael Lohan involved — something she tends to do when she's mad at her mom. Michael ended up calling the cops.

"She [Lindsay] was yelling "I've had enough of this!' witness John Scalesi told The New York Post.

No arrests were made and the cops left without incident.

Lindsay Lohan finds trouble again >>

"It was just a verbal dispute in the vehicle. It was an argument between Lindsay Lohan and her mother Dina," said Nassau police Inspector Kenneth Lack of the incident. "Lindsay called her father and her father called police."

Michael — never one to let a moment of publicity go by — cryptically told the Post that the whole thing was "a hell of a lot more than that."

The New York Daily News delved into that a bit deeper by claiming the feud was over a $40,000 loan Lindsay gave her mom. What's worse? Michael reportedly has audio of Lindsay saying that her mom's on cocaine.

Lindsay Lohan's lungs went on strike over the weekend >>

"Dad, she's on cocaine. She's like touching her neck, and s**t... She's saying disgusting things to me... I'm dead to her now," TMZ reported Lindsay as saying.

Here we go again. Michael later said that both his ex and daughter "need help."

Here's our advice: Dina, stop trying to be a pal with your troubled daughter and be a parent. Who are we kidding? Where's the fun in that?

Alex Karras dies at 77

A sad day for football fans and moviegoers alike. Alex Karras died Wednesday morning, at 77.

Peyton Manning, Michael Jordan, Shaq, and most every other athlete-gone-actor owes respect to a fallen comrade today.

Although their skills on the field may speak for themselves, Alex Karras is largely responsible for setting their stage onscreen.

Karras died this morning at his family home in Los Angeles, at 77.

While he's remembered for his legacy in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and as a Monday Night Football co-host, he was also a professional wrestler, and his acting career spanned nearly 30 years. His timeless role as Mongo in 1974's Blazing Saddles, his portrayal of a secretly gay football-player-turned-bodyguard in 1982's Victor Victoria, and his longstanding stint as George Papadapolis in the sitcom Webster are just a few of his varied acting accomplishments.

Nowadays we're used to seeing athletes in the spotlight, but Karras was arguably one of the first.

According to Karras' lawyer, Craig Mitnick, Karras had been struggling with dementia for years and it had taken quite a toll on the giant of a man.

"He was such a strong, charismatic man," Mitnick said. "The dementia took that energy away."

As is only appropriate in times like this, fans must remember Karras for his life: one that was undeniably defined by humor, and esteemed by those who loved and worked with him.

Whether you're Peyton Manning or a mom driving your kids to practice, take the time to laugh today — do it for Karras, and do it for you.

A father of six, Karras wrote of his experiences in two books, Even Big Guys Cry, and Alex Karras: My Life in Football, Television and Movies.

E is for Extrovert: Parenting an outgoing child

$
0

If your child is an extrovert — super social, talkative, craves high-engagement play — a little insight into how he sees the world will help you know what he needs from you.

Is your child an extrovert?

Just like adults, your child will likely display both introvert and extrovert traits — dependent on the situation. However, a child whose personality leans toward extroverted might exhibit more of these qualities:

  • Craves interaction
  • Loves to talk — often
  • Thrives on stimulation
  • Seeks out social situations
  • Outgoing, even assertive

Battling boredom

Because extroverts tend to crave activity, attention and engagement, they can become bored easily in the absence of people to connect with or something to really focus their energy on. With that in mind, consider activities that will help your little one thrive:

  • Create and perform impromptu plays or puppet shows
  • Host a living room talent show
  • Play dress-up, complete with a runway fashion show
  • Look into art classes, dance classes or team sports
  • Find free-play activities that allow for opportunities to socialize without the restrictions of a structured class, like the park, a water fountain/splash pad at a local outdoor mall, etc.

Your little talking machine

If you parent an extrovert you’ll likely find that he needs to talk... often. Just like introverts need quiet time to absorb and take in everything around them, extroverts process by talking through what they’re thinking and experiencing. If you happen to be of the introvert persuasion and value quiet time, or find that all of the talking can sometimes wear on your patience, there are things you can do to help your child direct her inner Chatty Cathy:

  • Give him a creative outlet so he can channel all that talking into fun activities. Let him record videos of himself with a video camera, or have him record audio files of himself talking, singing or story-telling into your iPhone, or even a tape recorder.
  • Invite her to read out loud to her siblings.
  • Create opportunities for him to share about his day, whether it’s a sit-down over a snack when you pick him up from school, or every night at the dinner table.
  • Help her learn a little restraint by taking opportunities to reinforce concepts like taking turns. While she might want to blurt out her thoughts over everyone else who’s in the conversation, remind her that she’ll absolutely have her turn to speak and that she just needs to hold on to that thought until it’s her turn to share.

Encouraging your extrovert

While no child is one-size-fits-all, and no personality type suits everyone perfectly, there are a few things you can do to give your little extrovert what she craves:

  • Acknowledge that she needs to talk, and understand that’s what makes her tick. Thinking aloud while she talks through things helps her comprehend concepts and problem-solve.
  • Get down on his level and give him your full attention when you play: Build with him, craft with him, engage with him in a genuine give and take.
  • Know that for extroverts it goes beyond just enjoying being around people — that’s what they draw their energy from. While introverts might need alone time to recharge, or feel drained after being around large crowds, extroverted children are energized by connecting with people and can get drained by feeling alone and bored.
  • Don’t pigeonhole him just because he leans toward a certain personality type. While your little one might get bored faster being alone than an introvert might, it doesn't mean he's not capable of it. He won’t always have a playmate or an ear to bend, so give him opportunities to enjoy a little down time, too.

Beyonce wants no part of A Star is Born

Beyonce is too busy with Blue Ivy Carter to star in the Clint Eastwood-directed A Star is Born. Now what?

Beyonce pulls out of A Star is BornBeyonce's self-imposed exile from the silver screen will last a little longer: She's no longer going to take on the starring role in the Clint Eastwood-directed remake of A Star is Born.

"I was looking forward to the production of A Star is Born and the opportunity to work with Clint Eastwood," Queen B said in a statement. "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together."

Is Blue Ivy Carter getting a sibling? >>

Eastwood hasn't commented on who will take her spot — he's only saying they'll have a replacement announced "early" next year. Rumored to take on the spot is Grammy-winning jazz performer Esperanza Spalding. Sounds like another Jennifer Hudson in the making, doesn't it?

Speaking of Hudson, why wouldn't she be the natural choice for the role? We hope she's at least being considered.

Other starlets we'd enjoy seeing in the film include Adele, and Anna Kendrick. Sure, Kendrick might not seem like the natural choice, but she's a solid actress and an amazingly good singer .

Beyonce and mom introduce Obama-inspired baby clothes >>

Would she take the role? We like to think so, especially since she's been on Broadway and has experience in this type of role.

"I started in musical theater and Camp was a musical movie, so I’ve sung on film before," Kendrick told Collider of her musical background and Pitch Perfect. "But obviously I knew that being the lead in a studio movie was going to be a completely different animal. Not only was I worried about performing my best, but if things had gone haywire I’m like the face of this movie and I’m singing and dancing all over a total nightmare. So I was really nervous about that."

Beyonce turns filmmaker, humanitarian >>

We think she did pretty well in the comedy — and we think it's high time she takes on this sort of lead. Think about it, Clint.

Animal Practice sneak peek: Yams for Mayor

When Dr. Yams saves Mayor Bloomberg's dog, Nasdaq, he earns some serious press. Will George get jealous? Probably. But isn't that inevitable?

Animal Practice Yams and Dr. Rick

NBC’s Animal Practice may seem like just another sitcom, and maybe it is. However, the situation is the most unique on television and the comedy is actually pretty funny, too.

Sure, it’s immediately obvious what will happen when Dr. Rizzo curls up inside Dr. Rick, the puppet: things will end hysterically badly for the puppet-fearing Dr. Yamamoto. But when the emotionally unavailable and humanity-inept chief of surgery, Dr. George Coleman , loses a kid in the episode “Clean-Smelling Pirate,” he carefully suggests, “Maybe we could coax him out with some sort of ‘child biscuit.’” How does that not make you snort?

George is a whiz at dealing with animals, but is absolutely clueless when it comes to humans. He’s awkward and insensitive in nearly every interaction with another person.

The recipe for comedy continues. Animal Practice also includes Dr. Doug Jackson, the vet with a banjo on his office wall and the owner of Dr. Rick, and Angela, a prisoner-dating, weird-as-hell nurse. Add in Dorothy Rutledge , the well-meaning but slightly ditzy girl who keeps everyone in line, and more giggles ensue.

Added bonus: Dorothy and George have a history and, from time to time, it seems inevitable that they’ll end up together again.

Animal Practice George and Yams

In the newest episode, “Dr. Yamamazing,” Yams saves the life of NYC Mayor Bloomberg’s dog, Nasdaq. George finds out about the event in the elevator when Dr. Rizzo shows him the front page of the paper. It’s a full-color picture of Yams and Nasdaq. As Yams lives it up in the limelight, the ever-scowling George balks at the fame given to a vet he considers inferior to himself. And with a dog named Nasdaq, the word play is sure to run wild throughout episode.

Olivia Wilde: Jason Sudeikis brought my vag back to life

You'd think a gorgeous, young, successful actress married to an Italian prince would be living a fairy tale. You'd be wrong. Olivia Wilde says she suffered through a passionless marriage for too long -- and she has a way for all of us to avoid the same fate.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde is a lucky lady. Despite her lack of passion for her ex-husband pretty much killing her vagina, her new love Jason Sudeikis has resurrected it! And now she can frolic in the garden of her womanhood again!

Wilde spoke of her lady flower at These Girls, a night of monologues hosted by Glamour, and really opened up about the death of her marriage to that Italian prince.

“I felt like my vagina died,” she said. “Turned off. Lights out... And you can lie to your relatives at Christmas dinner and tell them everything on the home front is just peachy. But you cannot lie to your vagina.”

And if you feel like your vag has met an untimely death, Wilde has some advice for you: Get out of that relationship. “Sometimes your vagina dies," she said. “Then you know it's time to go. There's no reason to sacrifice your womanhood and femininity for some sort of weird feeling of responsibility to something that may not be right. I feel like far too many women do that."

Olivia Wilde talks failed marriage, moving on >>

The actress also explained that she has her own version of a love utopia called "Olivia Land" where that passion never dies.

"In Olivia Land, relationships can legally only last seven years, without an option to renew. That way it never goes stale," she explained. "Can you imagine, if we only had seven years? We'd be so nice to each other, so kind, and appreciative and enthusiastic, like we were eating a really expensive bowl of pasta! And in Olivia Land people wouldn't cheat nearly as much because there wouldn't be the threat of spending forever with one bedfellow. It just wouldn't be legal. There's the issue of kids. Okay this is fun."

"In Olivia Land, all the kids go to boarding school at seven. It's like in Harry Potter!"

And if you're just not in the mood one night, Wilde has an answer for that, too: Hookers. "I would like to legalize prostitution. Hiring a sex worker in Olivia Land would be as easy, hygienic, and inexpensive as getting a pedicure," she said. "That way when away on business or just not in the mood, we could just hire a hooker for our loved one and keep them uninterested in cheating and keep them satisfied. These particular hookers would obviously have to be mute and possibly cross-eyed."

"In Olivia Land, the streets are paved with dark chocolate, and all the people are free of body hair and menstrual cramps.”

Jason Sudeikis only has six years left until his number is up and Wilde's vag finds a new partner with whom to continue her hot serial monogamy.

Grapefruit guacamole

Flavorful and citrusy, this novel recipe features avocado and grapefruit. Serve it as a dip or as a tangy, rich topping for nachos, fish or chicken.

Good-for-you guacamole

Sometimes you just need a little something different. Add a little zest to this popular party dip with the addition of tangy pink grapefruit for a fresher summertime taste. Try it heaped atop blackened swordfish or mahi-mahi for your next date-night in.

Grapefruit and avocados both have their own health benefits, making this an extremely healthy alternative to other, more fattening dips and salsas. Grapefruit helps increase your body's metabolism, reduce arthritis symptoms, prevent cancer, lower cholesterol levels and much more. While high in fat, avocados are filled with "good" fats. They help prevent some types of cancer, fight heart disease and stroke, promote eye health and more. Together, they form a powerhouse of good-for-you vitamins and minerals.

Ben Affleck reminisces about "Bennifer"

$

It's hard to imagine that a decade has gone by since we were bombarded with images of that pink diamond engagement ring, but Ben Affleck reveals a little about his former love.

BenAffleckTalksBennifer

Before actor Ben Affleck was married to Jennifer Garner, he was with that other Jennifer, which evolved into the infamous nickname "Bennifer." If you go all the way back to 2002-2003, it was the year the two ruled the tabloids with "Jenny from the Block," a pink diamond engagement ring and designer duds on the blue collar-raised Bostonian, Affleck.

In a lengthy interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week, the actor/director opens up about his former relationship with the one and only J.Lo. He tells THR, "We don't have the kind of relationship where she relies on me for advice, but we do have the kind of relationship where there'll be an e-mail saying, 'Oh, your movie looks great.' I remember when she got American Idol. I said: 'This was really smart. Good luck.'"

The onslaught by the paparazzi chronicled every moment of their relationship from their dating days on the red carpet to that infamous music video, and the eventual demise of their engagement. The media was tough on them and it was a difficult time in his career after the duo disastrously starred in the film Gigli in 2003.

Now that a decade has passed, Affleck only has kind words for his former fiancée. He says, "I respect her. I like her. She's put up with some stuff that was unfair in her life, and I'm really pleased to see her successful."

While the couple have clearly gone their separate ways, their career paths have been on the ascent ever since. The actor met and married Garner in 2005 and they now have three children together. Affleck focused his career behind the camera and he is now on the fast track to an Oscar nomination for the Iranian hostage film Argo.

Jennifer Lopez married and is currently in the process of divorcing singer Marc Anthony. He is the father to their twins, Emme and Max. She joined the American Idol judges' panel in 2010 only to depart after two seasons to continue her music career touring with Enrique Iglesias. She is currently dating Casper Smart, a choreographer and dancer who is 18 years her junior.

Affleck's movie, Argo, opens nationwide on Oct. 12.

Stacey Dash can't understand the Mitt Romney fury

Stacey Dash's recent Mitt Romney tweet resulted in a firestorm of comments, some of which were shockingly unkind. Rehashing the Twitter backlash, the actress sat down with Piers Morgan on Tuesday night.

Stacey Dash

Stacey Dash now knows firsthand that politics can be an extremely hot-button issue. Recently, she she spoke out in support of presidential candidate Mitt Romney, and that resulted in a Twitter firestorm which included hate messages and suggestions she kill herself. The Clueless actress admits she's shocked — but she isn't changing her position.

"The fury, I really don't understand the fury," Stacey Dash said on Piers Morgan Tonight. "I don't understand it. I don't get it... I was shocked, saddened. Not angry. Saddened and really shocked. But you know what, you can't expect everyone to agree with you."

Presidential debate: Romney 1, Big Bird 0 >>

Sampling a few of the racist, hateful tweets sent to Dash, Piers Morgan read off, "This is somebody who tweeted, 'You're an unemployed black woman endorsing Mitt Romney. You're voting against yourself thrice, you poor, beautiful idiot.' And somebody else just put, 'Kill yourself, you old hag.'"

Interestingly, Stacey Dash admitted she voted for Barack Obama in the 2008 election. Still, the 46-year-old said of Mitt Romney, "I believe him... I watched him, the governor and his wife, on 'Meet the Press...' They spoke to me, they seemed authentic and genuine."

Alluding to the famous "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King Jr., she added of Romney, "I chose him not by the color of his skin, but the content of his character."

Ann Romney slated to host Good Morning America >>

Though the Stacey Dash Twitter hate-fest was fast and furious, some have come out in support of the actress. Women's rights activist Sandra Fluke, no stranger to controversy herself, tweeted Monday, "So disappointed to see people attacking @REALStaceyDash for voicing her opinion. Disagree politically, but #racist attacks are unacceptable."

Drew Lachey's DWTS elimination: Isn't it ironic?

Drew Lachey's Dancing with the Stars spin has come to an abrupt end. While his partner believes they were robbed, the toe-tapping singer finds something about their elimination a wee bit ironic.

Drew Lachey

Drew Lachey has managed to find the faintest bit of humor in his Dancing with the Stars elimination. What could be funny about the hard work with partner Anna Trebunskaya being all for naught? It's the lack of seasoned performers left on the floor, apparently.

"I feel disappointed that it came to an end," Drew Lachey told reporters backstage, shortly after being cut Tuesday night. "There are fantastic dancers on the show. Everyone knows it, and everyone sees it every week. [But] do I think we're going home too early? Absolutely. I don't think there's anybody in this ballroom who would disagree with that."

Explaining how his hopes went from high to dashed when the scores of other contending couples were revealed, Lachey said, "When we first got our scores, we were like, 'Yes! That's great.' And then we saw how the scores kept getting higher and higher and higher and higher, and we were like, 'Really? We're second to the bottom?'"

Bristol Palin says her mom is too busy for DWTS >>

Less shy about her true feelings, Anna Trebunskaya vented, "Oh, my gosh, I was so robbed! Are you kidding me? I have an amazing partner. We had so much fun together. I feel robbed of having the fun of working with this person."

With Drew Lachey off the show, there's something the remaining contestants happen to be missing that hasn't escaped the 98 Degrees singer's notice — a lack of experience on a big stage.

"I take pride in what I do, and to me, it's kind of ironic that the two Broadway performers — me and Joey [Fatone] — are gone already," Lachey explained. "It's a little odd to me, but that's part of the unpredictability of the show. It sucks. It really sucks."

Do you think it was time for Drew Lachey's Dancing with the Stars run to end?

Tori Spelling dishes dramatic details of her fourth pregnancy

Tori Spelling may be a mom to four kids, but it wasn't easy giving birth to her latest addition, Finn.

ToriSpellingPregnancyScareTori Spelling has revealed the details of her dramatic fourth pregnancy to US Weekly, in a cover story that divulges the health issues that almost took her life. Pregnancy number four was a complete surprise for the actress, as she and her husband, Dean McDermott, had just given birth to their third child, Hattie.

Spelling received a bit of heat from other moms for publicly disclosing that she and McDermott had sex before she was medically cleared at the six-week mark after giving birth. She consequently became pregnant with her fourth child, and at twenty weeks into her pregnancy, trouble began.

Spelling was diagnosed with placenta previa, which results from the placenta growing into the lower womb and covering the opening of the cervix, a part of the birth canal. It is seen in 1 out of 200 pregnancies, and women who have had multiple pregnancies and a history of C-sections are at high risk for the condition. The actress fell into both of those categories, making her fourth pregnancy extremely high risk.

Spelling spent over four months on bed rest, including a 10-week stay in the hospital to prevent any internal bleeding.

The difficult pregnancy terrified the actress, and she told Us Magazine, "I just remember thinking, I can't leave three children behind."

Fortunately, baby Finn Davey was born on Aug. 30, despite enduring nine episodes of bleeding during delivery.

Spelling says, "When they put him in my arms, I was like, 'We made it.'"

Spelling did undergo a fourth C-section, which led to emergency surgery about a month ago because her scars had split open. However, the reality star is recovering nicely from that final scare.

Spelling is currently the host of the show Craft Wars on TLC, and she is also the owner of a Los Angeles antique store, InvenTORI.

Grey's Anatomy is adding a new member to the Shepherd family tree. Derek's getting another sister, and she's played by a real scream queen, actress Neve Campbell.

Neve Campbell

Grey's Anatomy has been littered with tragedy. The ninth season's just begun, and we've already been hit with a one-two punch of shockers. We're overdue for some good news, and now it's been confirmed that Dr. Derek Shepherd is in line for a family reunion.

Doctor down: Grey's Anatomy loses McSteamy >>

According to TVLine, we'll see one of Derek's many sisters make an appearance this season. Over the series run, we've already met Amelia , who currently appears on Private Practice, and Nancy . Sister number three will be played by Scream star Neve Campbell.

Neve Campbell back in Scream 4 >>

There's no word on Campbell's character's name, or her intentions. Derek has two more siblings floating around: Kathleen the psychiatrist and another, unnamed sister. Campbell is scheduled to appear in at least two episodes of the drama.

Grey's Anatomy back for Season 9 >>

We have to admit, we're happy to see Campbell and Patrick Dempsey together again. Over 10 years ago, the actors appeared in Wes Craven's Scream 3. Oddly enough, they were love interests in that film, not siblings. Campbell did have a brother in the film, but he was played by Scott Foley.

Look who's returning for Grey's Anatomy Season 9 >>

Following the traumatic events of last season's finale, Derek's in need of some support. Heck, everyone on Grey's Anatomy is living on the edge. It's just a sad state of affairs. We're interested in what Campbell will bring to the table. Since this is Grey's, it'll probably be a real showstopper.

What do you think of Campbell joining Grey's?

Liam Neeson was paid how much for Taken 2?

$

The actor must have kicked himself for getting such a small paycheck from the first movie. So for the second film in the franchise, it looks like he was paid closer to what he is worth.

Liam Neeson

In 2009, the movie Taken was never expected to be a box office hit. But... surprise! The film cost $25 million to make, and it raked in over $226 million worldwide. Before its success, the creators had never expected to turn the story into a franchise.

"But if there are two things Hollywood loves, it's sequels and money," said the Huffington Post. "So Fox took a stake in the sequel, which has dialed up an impressive $122 million at the worldwide box office  and is sure to pass the original's total cume of $226.8 million."

So when the studio decided to make Taken 2, star Liam Neeson knew that the film would be a winner at the box office... and that he should be paid accordingly. According to the Hollywood Reporter, he may have been paid around $10 million for the second film, which is still a bargain for a film that could make 20 times that amount.

Not only that, but sources told the Huffington Post that Neeson may be paid upwards of $20 million if there ends up being a third film in the franchise. But the same sources said the actor is thinking the Taken story has run its course, and doing a third film may not be worth it to him, no matter how much money he's offered.

"That's a big check, but it's certainly not unheard of in the blockbuster-verse," according to the Huffington Post. "Robert Downey Jr. reportedly took in $50 million for The Avengers, while his superhero cast mates earned somewhere in the $2–3 million range."

Scarlett Johansson will reportedly be making $20 million for the second Avengers film.

Neeson is hardly begging for money, though. He has three other projects in the works right now, including A Walk Among the Tombstones, based on the novel by Lawrence Block. The film is in preproduction currently, and newly single Danny DeVito is listed as one of the producers. It is scheduled to be released in 2013.

Wednesday morning, he shot off three tweets, one right after another, about the incident.

"sucks when u take personal footage and people dont respect your privacy," he said.

OK, personal footage, that could be anything. No need to worry yet.

He continued, "yesterday during the show me and my tour manager josh had some stuff stolen. really sucks. people should respect other's property."

At this point, it sounds like he had some very innocent personal items stolen, but that they were all things he could replace. But the third tweet is the most worrisome.

"i had a lot of personal footage on that computer and camera and that is what bothers me the most. #lame #norespect," he said.

So, what exactly does he mean by personal footage? Let’s hope it’s not what we think it is. Not just for us, but for Bieber. And especially for his girlfriend, Selena Gomez. A sex tape between the two stars would probably fetch a high price, but would be pretty disturbing.

Bieber recently appeared in another kind of video, which is supposed to be for a good cause . The video was done for the Nassau County district attorney's office, to help prevent cyber-bullying. But he didn't make that video by choice. He agreed to participate because of charges filed after he was involved in an event that got out of control.

"The charges against the manager, Scott Braun, and the executive, James Roppo, stemmed from a crowd-control episode in 2009 at the Roosevelt Field shopping mall in Nassau County," said The New York Times. "In 2009, Mr. Bieber was scheduled to sign autographs at the mall. But when more than 3,000 young fans converged there before his arrival, the police ordered the event to be canceled for safety reasons."

Time will only tell if Bieber's "personal footage" ever comes out, but hopefully, he has learned that it's not a good idea to leave personal stuff lying around where someone could take it.

Slimmed down Sarah Palin is writing a fitness book

The former VP candidate is now just another celebrity, but she is holding onto her fame any way she can. Sarah Palin recently announced she and her family are writing a fitness book.

Sarah PalinSarah Palin has apparently become just another celebrity. The former vice-presidential candidate was photographed out in LA recently, but more shocking than her new image is her weight. Many have been speculating about why she's so skinny now, but it looks like there is a good reason for it. Palin recently told People magazine in an email that she is in the middle of writing a fitness book. Or rather, the Palins are writing a fitness book.

"Our family is writing a book on fitness and self-discipline, focusing on where we get our energy and balance as we still eat our beloved, homemade comfort foods!" she told the magazine.

The 48-year-old's new discipline can't be easy since the family has been known to serve guests numerous treats, but by the looks of her, she is taking it seriously.

"Palin, who famously made moose chili and moose cheese dogs during a 2008 interview, promised a book that’s 'unique and motivating,'" said ABC News.

"We promise you what we do works and allows a fulfilling quality of life and sustenance anyone can enjoy," she told People. Palin did not say whether she has shopped the book around yet, or when it might be out.

Since the 2008 election, Palin quit her job as Alaska's governor and starred in her own reality TV show, Sarah Palin's Alaska. But it's not clear what else she has been up to. She had many supporters who wanted her to run for president of the United States in 2012, but in October 2011, she announced that she would not be running.

So, "Sarah Palin is now nothing but a celebrity.... [She has] transformed from a political figure to a popular one," said Hollywood.com.

Palin's daughter Bristol is currently in the middle of her second season of Dancing with the Stars, and Sarah has been in the crowd a few times to cheer on her daughter.

11 former teammates testified against Lance Armstrong

The USADA has released its report on Lance Armstrong's doping case, including the list of witnesses testifying against him and all other evidence compiled. But the agency also wants to raise awareness of the drug culture within the sport.

Lance Armstrong

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency today spoke about the Lance Armstrong case, and it's not looking good for Armstrong.

The agency said Armstrong was involved in "the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen," said the Associated Press.

Not only that, but USADA listed Armstrong's former teammates who testified against him, and it wasn't a short list.

"In a news release previewing the decision, USADA CEO Travis Tygart listed 11 of Armstrong's former teammates, including George Hincapie, Floyd Landis and Tyler Hamilton, as among those providing evidence that led to the sanction," said the Associated Press.

In addition to Armstrong's teammates, 15 other witnesses testified against him.

Wednesday's announcement detailed the reasons why the USADA decided to strip Armstrong of his seven Tour de France titles and impose a lifetime ban upon him. In the statement, Tygart asked the International Cycling Union to work on helping clean up the sport. The report also chastised Armstrong's team for helping create the drug culture within the sport.

"The U.S.P.S. Team doping conspiracy was professionally designed to groom and pressure athletes to use dangerous drugs, to evade detection, to ensure its secrecy and ultimately gain an unfair competitive advantage through superior doping practices," the report said, according to The New York Times. It was "a program organized by individuals who thought they were above the rules and who still play a major and active role in sport today.”

The agency also provided e-mails, financial statements and laboratory results to prove its case, even though it said it did not need any other evidence to corroborate the testimony of the witnesses. Armstrong's lawyer Timothy Herman responded to the attack, once again claiming that Armstrong is innocent of all the charges against him.

He said the report "will be a one-sided hatchet job — a taxpayer-funded tabloid piece rehashing old, disproved, unreliable allegations based largely on axe-grinders, serial perjurers, coerced testimony, sweetheart deals and threat-induced stories," according to The New York Times.

Armstrong retired from the sport last year and has not said what his future holds.

Did Bachelorette Emily Maynard and Jef Holm break up?

Maynard and Holm are still acting happy and appearing in public together, but there is talk that all is not well. Will we be hearing the news of a breakup soon?

Jef Holm Emily Maynard

The Bachelor/Bachelorette TV franchise has not always led to true love, and it looks like another couple may have bitten the dust. Reality Steve is reporting that Bachelorette couple Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have officially called it quits.

"I don’t care if you don't believe me. I don't care if you say I'm crazy. And I don't care if you have 1,000 questions for me," said Reality Steve on his website. "Until Jef and Emily officially go on the record and release a statement, I guess that's when you'll believe it, but I can tell you right now that Jef and Emily broke up this weekend. Done. Over. No longer engaged."

But no one else has reported the split, and the couple definitely hasn't said anything. But the gossip columnist is right more often than not, so it could be true.

"It's… what I feel comfortable in reporting based on what was told to me. Yes, I know, I know. I can hear your questions already coming. 'If they broke up, why did they go to the Panthers game together?' 'If they broke up, why is each still following each other on Twitter?' 'If they broke up, why is each default Twitter picture a picture of them together?' All legitimate questions," he said. "And here's what I can tell you: It just happened a couple days ago. This isn't a rumor, I didn't hear this 5th hand, and I'm not making something up for attention. All I'm here to tell you is that Jef and Emily are no longer an engaged couple and have broken up."

Reality Steve also reported that the couple is currently in the process of trying to figure out how to announce the news, and so an announcement will be coming very soon. And a breakup wouldn't be the first in the reality TV franchise's history. Actually, just a few days ago, Courtney and Ben announced they had split as well, after about a year together. It goes to show all contestants on the show that there is no such thing as a normal breakup, even after the cameras are gone. It takes a statement and some finesse to announce the news, and maybe even some faking it in the meantime.

Sarah Brightman to become first singer to launch into space

The British singer may become the next Russian space tourist, and she may be the first to sing for the world from up there.

Sarah Brightman

Some singers dream of going on a world tour,  but Sarah Brightman wants to take one step beyond. Today, the singer announced she would be joining a 10-day mission to the International Space Station.

"Joining the crew of a Soyuz rocket with assistance from Space Adventures, Ltd., she'll likely spend 10 days in orbit — where she hopes to perform in space," said Billboard. "She made the announcement in Moscow, Russia, on Wednesday. She'll release a new album, Dreamchaser, in January 2013, and begin a six-month pre-orbit training process after a world tour."

Brightman is a UNESCO Artist for Peace Ambassador, and this trip isn't just to perform her music. The Virgin Galactic's Galactic Unite STEM Scholarship program is meant to help and encourage women to pursue careers in science and technology.

"I don't think of myself as a dreamer. Rather, I am a dream chaser," Brightman told Billboard. "I hope that I can encourage others to take inspiration from my journey, both to chase down their own dreams and to help fulfill the important UNESCO mandate to promote peace and sustainable development on earth and from space."

The British singer may be best known for her recent Broadway role in The Phantom of the Opera. When she was only 21 years old, she auditioned for the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats, and three years later, she married Webber. They divorced in 1990, but she still appears in many of his performances, and she launched a successful solo career in the 90s as well.

"If it happens, Brightman, 52, would make the journey in 2015 and would be the first paying customer since Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte, who donned a red clown's nose during his 2009 trip," said Reuters.

The flight will not only be a big milestone for Brightman, but will also be important for her cause and for civilians in space. The feat will make her the first singer in space — or at least the first professional singer. According to Reuters, because of her busy schedule and the intensive training required, her space flight won't be until 2015.
