Jessica Simpson says she's lost 40 pounds

0
0
Jessica Simpson is almost back to her pre-baby weight! The singer and reality star told Katie Couric that she's on the road to health, even if it's not always easy.

Jessica Simpson talks weight loss to Katie Couric

Jessica Simpson was pretty evasive last week when it came to discussing exactly how much weight she's lost since giving birth to daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson in May. Not anymore! The singer appeared on the premiere of Katie Couric's new ABC talk show Katie to talk about her progress with Weight Watchers. The result? She says she's lost 40 pounds!

Pretty impressive! However, it's not as simple as other Hollywood moms make it seem.

"I set small goals for myself. I've lost weight every week, thank God, but I've worked really hard. I have to shoot a new season of Fashion Star," she told Couric, adding that she's about 10 pounds away from her pre-pregnancy weight.

"My doctors told me [my pregnancy weight] was a lot of water, and when my water broke… All the weight did not come out with the baby. I had to stay focused on my diet. I want to be as healthy as I can because I'm a mom now," she said, adding that she's learning to love fish and other healthy grub.

"The only fish I ever ate was a fish stick. Now I'm trying to eat fish."

Another part of her healthy outlook is avoiding negativity that's posted about her online and in magazines.

"I definitely don't pick up the magazines. I definitely don't Google my name. I try to avoid it completely. But I subconsciously know the talk is going on," she said. Every day it's a struggle for me. Weight Watchers is not intimidating. It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle.

"I have to separate myself from the world's expectations," she added. "I have to look inside myself. I want to be a role model."

Looking good, Jess!

Welcome to Las Vegas Sign

Las Vegas' food scene has exploded in the past few years, bringing new and exciting restaurants with celebrity chefs and innovative ingredients and menus.

Where to eat in Sin City

With all of the astounding new restaurants popping up on the Strip, you'll want to forget the slots and save your pennies for food instead!

Long gone are the days of cheap, bad and overpriced buffet and fast food in Vegas' casinos. Now you're more likely to find celebrity restaurants by Hubert Keller, Wolfgang Puck, Charlie Palmer, Tom Colicchio and Bobby Flay than you are a chain restaurant. On your next trip to the Strip, be sure to save some room for brunch, dinner or drinks in one of these five fabulous foodie restaurants!

1

Fleur by Hubert Keller, Mandalay Bay Resort

Fleur by Hubert Keller, Mandalay Bay Resort

With celebrity owned restaurants popping up in nearly every casino, it's hard to narrow down which ones are authentic to the chef's tastes and favorites and not just a place where they throw up their name and pick up their checks. Fleur, the new restaurant in Mandalay Bay by renowned chef Hubert Keller, is more than just a place to eat. It's a place to experience with all senses. Keller, who has won the James Beard Award and studied among France's elite, doesn't hone in on a certain style in Fleur, his dishes are all inspired by his culinary travels. One of the most popular dishes on the menu is the "in the shower" lobster mac' n cheese, which was inspired by Keller's time on Top Chef Masters. The fried pork belly BBQ flatbread and ahi-tuna tacos are great lunch bites. For dinner, order the braised short ribs glazed with honey coriander and carrots.

Twist, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas

Twist, Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas

If you're looking for an incredible meal with an even more breathtaking view, check out Twist, which is situated on the 23rd floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Voted one of the best restaurants in Las Vegas by Travel and Leisure magazine, you're sure to find incredibly innovative and creative fare with a comforting, yet quirky, flair. Each course is served with three separate plates so you can try many of chef Pierre Gagnaire's whimsical dishes, like the foie gras-and-fig terrine and the rhubarb-and-eggplant mousse. The menu changes with the seasons so be sure to call ahead to inquire about menu options. In addition to a stunning menu, the dining room's space age decor, like metal chairs and glittering globe pendants, gives the restaurant a very futuristic feel, which is a refreshing break from Vegas' normal neon lights and tacky carpets.

Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, The Wynn

Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, The Wynn

When you step outside to the beautiful outdoor dining area of Bartolotta Ristorante di Mare, you feel like you're in an entirely new, exotic world far away from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. Bartolotta is known best for their expansive selection of fresh fish , including spiny scorpion fish, pagaro and sogliola , to name a few. In addition to their fresh seafood, Bartolotta features handmade, fresher than your Italian grandmother's pasta, like spaghetti all’astice, or spaghetti with rock lobster, white wine and rich pasta sauce. Although you can dine indoors in the ornate, formal dining room, it's the outdoor area with a koi pond, lagoon and private cabanas that makes dining at the restaurant such a unique experience.

4

Joël Robuchon, MGM

When you think of the slightly exuberant decor of the MGM Grand, you probably aren't thinking Michelin star dining . However, despite sharing the same address, Joël Robuchon looks and feels like it's light years away, which could be due to the fact you are escorted by limousine to a private entrance at MGM's private mansion annex. Although the luxurious treatment is memorable, the food is what makes this one of the best restaurants in the country. The brainchild of French chef Joël Robuchon , the food is sophisticated and concise. If you're ordering a la carte, try the la langoustine or la sole . If you're with a group, go with the five-course menu , where you can enjoy a taste of Robuchon's most famous dishes, like the foie gras with violet artichoke and the braised veal cheeks.

5

Aureole, Mandalay Bay Resort

Aureole, Mandalay Bay Resort

With a chef like Charlie Palmer backing up this four-diamond award-winning restaurant, you know it's going to be good. Aureole, which has been around since the opening of Mandalay Bay in 1999, has been voted one of the top five best restaurants in the country for years and has won the coveted Michelin Star and has a four-diamond rating. Like many of Palmer's restaurants, the food at Aureole is innovative, yet unpretentious, featuring French- and American-inspired dishes like line-caught California stripe bass with wilted Swiss chard and caramelized onions and a massive shrimp termidor with with a sweet chili sauce. Aureole isn't just knowledgeable in food though, they sort of know a little something about wine, too. If you walk by the restaurant, you may notice their massive tower filled with more than 10,000 varieties of red wine, including a vintage from 1961 that goes for just shy of $5k. But don't let that overwhelm you, they have plenty of wine choices for any budget.

The Voice vs. X Factor: Which is better?

Clever spin on the cliche

The Voice: The judges don't see the contestants until they hit the button on their fancy spinning chairs, signaling their interest in having that singer on their team.

X Factor: Contestants have to be ballsy from the get-go — their first audition is in front of a massive audience, in addition to the judges.

The kind of "constructive" criticism contestants likely won't forget

The Voice: "You have a great sound; you're developed. Cee Lo has another meaning for the word 'developed' when he talks to you." — Blake Shelton

X Factor: "It was like, imagine I am a factory in China, and I've been given an order to manufacture 10,000 Justin Bieber dolls that sing and dance, but it kind of went wrong in production. That's what you are. It wasn't quite right." — Simon Cowell

The Voice: Christina's colossal cleavage

X Factor: Untalented trainwrecks whose mamas always told them they were destined for greatness

What you won't see but will want to

The Voice: Those untalented trainwrecks mentioned above — the talent is pretty heavily vetted here

X Factor: Any sort of set-lightening sexual tension among the judges... think Simon and Paula

Prize worth risking humiliation for

The Voice: $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic

X Factor: A whoppin' $5 mil recording contract with Syco/Sony Music

Who's won so far

The Voice: Javier Colon and Jermaine Paul

X Factor: Melanie Amaro, whose first single failed to impress

When to tune in

The Voice: 8/7c on Wednesday and Thursday

X Factor: 8/7c on Monday, Tuesday and — only for the premiere week — Wednesday

As if you need any more incentive to watch

The Voice: Last season's playful sparring between Christina and Adam came to a head when she slammed his contestant Tony Lucca during the finale... their rivalry alone is worth watching for. Well, that and to see what other spherical object Christina slaps on her head and tries to pass off as a hat.

X Factor: Britney Spears has already reportedly stormed off the set once. What other shenanigans can we expect from the explosive star? If she ever shows up sporting her shaven dome of days gone by, it's on like Donkey Kong.

Man accuses Miley Cyrus of battery

0

A man reportedly filed a police report after an incident at a Hollywood hotel Saturday night — it involved Cyrus and her fiance, Liam Hemsworth.

Miley CyrusMiley Cyrus had quite the weekend. Sunday morning, a man tried to gain access to her house with a pair of scissors, saying he was her husband. The singer was away from her home at the time.

But she may have started her own battle when she was out with her fiance on Saturday. According to Perez Hilton, a man filed a police report Sunday morning for criminal battery against Cyrus, claiming she had punched him.

According to Hilton, the man is claiming that on Saturday night, he and his friends were at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood at the same time as the Cyrus party. The man is saying someone in his group "may" have bumped into Liam Hemsworth's chair.

"Apparently words were exchanged and things got heated, fast, to a point where physical violence seemed imminent," said Hilton on his website. "Miley supposedly got in between Liam and the 'victim' to break them apart, and then allegedly hit the man in question, in the face."

A witness did confirm there was some sort of argument between the two parties, but the witness did not see things get physical, so that makes this story a little hard to believe. The man did file a police report, but there has been no news of Cyrus being charged, so the police may be looking into it. Or it may have been dismissed altogether. Hilton is also saying the man have made up the story, since it's not the first time a person has tried to "create a money-making mountain out of a celebrity sighting molehill."

The man who attempted to break into Cyrus' home Saturday may have been looking for attention also. It's not the first time someone has believed they were involved with her — it also happened in 2009 when she was only 16.

Nick Cassevetes' incest quote: Why celebs say stupid stuff

0
0
Everybody gets word vomit occasionally. Celebrities are not immune. They somehow forget that they are in front of a microphone, or on a camera, or surrounded by people with smartphones. Here’s why celebrities say spectacularly stupid stuff:

Nick CassevetesTo become relevant

Nick Cassevetes, on the topic of incest, said, "Who gives a damn? Love who you want." If you're saying "Nick who?" this may very well be why celebrities say this kind of stuff in the first place. Nick Cassevetes, a writer-director and director of The Notebook and Alpha Dog , let loose with this pearl at the Toronto Film Festival in response to the incestuous relationship between a brother and sister in his movie, Yellow.

And there you have it. Now we're all talking about an ageless taboo — incest — and Nick's latest movie. So are these types of brain belches really an act of stupidity or a calculated marketing ploy? Ask Snooki from Jersey Shore, who helped make a human train wreck a household name with quotes that seemed to have bypassed her brain entirely.

How can we forget when Snooki was being interviewed by Big J from Montana's Hot 101.9 and he asked if she'd ever been to Montana.

She responded with "Where is Montana?" And then turned from the phone and said, "Is that a state?"

Suffice it to say we won't be seeing Momma Snooki on Jeopardy! anytime soon.

Is Anthony Mackie remaking The Notebook? >>

Charlie Sheen

To regain relevance

Sometimes celebrity folks forget the distinction between famous and infamous. Charlie Sheen is the quintessential and latest example of this. For a few weeks, most of us reading the headlines were thinking, "Who stuffed Sheen full of mind-altering drugs and put him on a mic?" In case we were lying awake at night thinking about it, Sheen clarified:

"I'm not Thomas Jefferson. He was a p***y."

Good to know. In addition to having tiger blood, Chuck Sheen also noted, "We are high priest Vatican assassin warlocks. Boom!"

Charlie was doing one of two things — either putting the double ass in assassin or trying to stay on everyone's radar after being summarily dismissed from Two and a Half Men.

Charlie Sheen quits Twitter: #winning jokes commence >>

David Dinkins

To draw us into a circular maze of logic

Sometimes high-profile people think they can dazzle us with syntax. Former New York City mayor David Dinkins issued a shining example of this when he said, "I haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law." Oh, when you put it that way... What, for the love of the all that is holy and inane, is that supposed to mean?

Jessica SimpsonBecause somewhere along the way, they were told brainless is cute

Get comfortable, because this is a crowded category. Jessica Simpson sort of opened this Pandora's box of gibberish when, in and among other mindless rants, she asked then-husband Nick Lachey if Chicken by the Sea was chicken or fish.

Tara Reid said, "I make Jessica Simpson look like a rock scientist."

Apparently she didn't want to set the bar too high with "rocket scientist."

Then Mariah Carey took the torch and said, "Whenever I see those poor starving kids around the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that, but not with all the flies and death and stuff."

She's right. There has to be a better way to lose weight that doesn't involve all that unsightly suffering.

Britney Spears said she didn't want to go to Japan because she simply doesn't like eating fish, and she knew that was very popular in Africa. Does your head hurt yet?

Jessica Simpson is "losing weight every week" >>

Johnny DeppBecause they think no one is listening?

Hey, we're not psychologists here. We're just trying to exhaust every reasonable explanation. You'd think that when a seasoned vet like Johnny Depp sits across the table from someone who is holding a tape recorder and says, "I'm interviewing you," he'd put his filter on full alert. That way he could have been spared the violent criticism in response to his telling Vanity Fair that being photographed was like "being raped." You can image the excrement storm that kicked up. It was nearly as large as the stinking mess he made when he compared France to America, saying that American culture was a "disaster."

Emma Watson named most dangerous celebrity

0
0
Emma Watson may seem like an unlikely suspect, but her name is involved with more viruses than any other celebrity name. Why? It might be her audience.

Emma Watson inspires virusesEmma Watson, the actress who played Hermione in the Harry Potter films has just been named Hollywood's most dangerous celebrity — but not for the reason you might imagine. The actress topped McAfee's 2012 list of "Most Dangerous Celebrities" to search for online, beating out last year's "winner," Heidi Klum.

"Fans who query 'Emma Watson and nude pictures' or 'Emma Watson and busted' run a 1-in-8 chance of landing on a site that has tested positive for viruses and other malicious software, according to the security technology company," said the LA Times.

As time passes, more and more viruses are unleashed, and many use the obsession with celebrities to trap Internet users. Some years ago, the practice came to light with a virus spread through email using tennis star Anna Kournikova's name.

"It goes without saying that we are a celebrity-obsessed culture. We hyper-focus on their lives, what they look like, what they're doing," Robert Siciliano, McAfee's online security expert, told the LA Times. "Currently Emma Watson is one of those people that criminals have determined is a good target, based on the demographics of those who pay attention to her."

The viruses don't always hurt your computer directly. Sometimes you're lured to a site so it can gain access to your computer.

"Siciliano said criminals know that they can dupe a teen-age boy to click on a link that infects the family's computer," said the LA Times, "potentially giving them access to, say, a parent's tax files that contain Social Security numbers."

Hot trailer: The Perks of Being a Wallflower are just that >>

Demographics are the key, as evidenced by the fact only one male celebrity — Jimmy Kimmel —made this year's list. Watson was followed on the list by Jessica Biel, Eva Mendes, Selena Gomez, Halle Berry and Megan Fox.

Since the Harry Potter films wrapped up, Watson has been busy. She is currently working on four different projects, and her newest film The Perks of Being a Wallflower which will be released on Sept. 21.

The New Normal is almost here! The comedy makes its big debut Tuesday night, and NBC is giving it one final push. The network has released an extended preview that gives us a closer look at this new family.

The New Normal

"A family is a family. Love is love." That's the theme of Ryan Murphy and Allison Adler's comedy The New Normal. After a summer of positive and negative buzz, it's time to put up or shut up.

The New Normal centers on a same-sex couple who are looking to start a family. They hire a single mom to be their surrogate — but are unprepared for the baggage she brings. The woman comes complete with a quick-witted daughter and a prejudiced mother.

Anderson Cooper's coming out story told with a giggle

0
0
If Anderson Cooper has always been gay, what made him decide to finally "come out" this summer? With a blush and trademark giggle, the man of the hour has explained his reasoning to Anderson Live show fans.

Anderson Coooper

Anderson Cooper has kicked off the second season of Anderson Live with his own coming out story. Thanks to a not-so-innocent line of inquiry from guest co-host Kristin Chenoweth, the man many accused of admitting to be gay as a ratings ploy has explained himself.

Since coming out in an email to political blogger in Andrew Sullivan in July, Anderson Cooper has had quite the summer. When asked about what he's been up to by Kristin Chenoweth, the 45-year-old host replied with a light Cooper-tastic giggle, "Now I'm blushing and I'm getting nervous."

"I came out in high school," he went on to explain of the timeline of events. "I told my friends, I told my family. I've always been out to my co-workers and stuff. It's just not something I talked about publicly, because as a reporter, I didn't think it was appropriate. It didn't seem like part of my job."

Anderson Cooper giggles over Dyngus Day pussy willows >>

Anderson Cooper continued, "It just got to the point where — I've been torn for a long time between a desire as a reporter to just do my job and be known as a reporter — and at the same time I do think visibility is important. I do think that the tide of history only moves forward when everyone is fully visible. I didn't want to send a message that there was anything I was ashamed about or unhappy about or not comfortable with. That was the main thing for me."

Are Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen an item? >>

"I appreciate all the support I got and all the encouragement," the silver fox added. "I am the same person I always was, I do the job just the same way."

Kim Kardashian's life is harder than a cancer patient's

0
0
Kim Kardashian compares her plight to that of a teenage girl with cancer. Yes, seriously.

Kim Kardashian talks to the Guardian

Being famous is like, almost the exact same as having cancer. Say what? Yep, that's the ridiculously inappropriate analogy Kim Kardashian made in a new interview with the U.K. Guardian. In the interview, the reality star compares the drama around her divorce from Kris Humphries to an 18-year-old girl's fight with cancer.

Kim Kardashian calls out nanny for scandalous email >>

"But I think that, with any decisions in life [brace yourselves], like, I spoke to a girl today who had cancer and we were talking about how this is such a hard thing for her, but it taught her a big lesson on who her friends are and so much about life. She's 18. And I was like, that's how I feel."

That's right, Kardashian's life is so pampered that being embarrassed by her 72-day divorce is just like fighting a deadly illness. Her vapid, clueless quotes don't stop there, though: The 31-year-old admits she loves fame and compares Keeping Up with the Kardashians to iconic shows of days gone by.

"When I hear people say [what are you famous for?], I want to say, what are you talking about?" she said. "I have a hit TV show. We've shot more episodes than I Love Lucy! We've been on the air longer than The Andy Griffith Show! I mean, these are iconic shows, so it blows my mind when people say that."

It takes talent to be on reality TV, guys.

Kim Kardashian is "selfish," says brother >>

"But to be able to open up your life like that and to be so... if everyone could do it, everyone would," she added. "It doesn't make sense to me."

And as for that ill-fated marriage? She says she won't get married on television again. Or, maybe she will. Thinking is hard!

"I would definitely do it differently. Just all the scrutiny that I got. You don't plan to go through all of that willingly. For money," Kim added. "That's just not what a sane person would do. So. Would I get married on TV again? No."

Not so fast.

So, Kim Kardashian walks into a swingers party... >>

"Well, I guess you never say never. Because who knows? So many other people I know have gotten married on TV and it has worked out amazing for them," she said. "William and Kate got married on TV."

And that, friends, is a look inside Kim Kardashian's mind.

Tony Danza faces painful lessons in his new book

0
0
Tony Danza took a different career path in 2009 when he began his first year as a teacher in Philadelphia. In his latest book, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had, Danza takes readers through a powerful life lesson.

Tony Danza writes teaching memoir

Tony Danza's new book, I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had, hits bookstores on Tuesday. It has debuted to shining reviews from multiple newspapers, including the Philadelphia Inquirer, which plays a role in the book. Reviewers have no difficulty bestowing high praise on Danza's new work, often using the words "dramatic" and "dedicated" to describe it.

The 61-year-old actor is said to have woven a heartbreaking and compelling story that recounts his first year as an English teacher at Northeast High School. In a revealing interview with the Hartford Courant, a newspaper based in Connecticut, Danza explains the emotional roller coaster he rode during his first year as a rookie teacher.

"I was absolutely surprised how emotional I got although I am a bit of a crier. It was unbelievable. I think I had two stages of hysteria when I taught. There was that total fear that I would make a horrible mistake in front of people. There were days when I thought I had the greatest lesson plan and was going to make such a difference and then it didn't happen. I think in the beginning I put too much pressure on myself and was making myself crazy."

Tony Danza's new book follows the similar experiences showcased on his 2010 show reality show Teach, which aired on A&E. Danza probably hopes the reception for I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had is more positive critically and commercially than what Teach got. The show lasted only seven episodes, with harsh words from some in teaching community. Danza remembers the show's shaky premise in his book and says there was a disconnect between his creative vision and the actuality of the show.

"The kind of show I envisioned would be risky for the network, but I was convinced that the real lives of real kids combined with my hyperreal flop sweat would make for more than enough drama."

The Philadelphia Inquirer notes Danza admits he received special treatment while at Northeast High School but says Tony did do much of the typical work of a teacher.

What readers should notice and appreciate, says the Philadelphia Inquirer, about this memoir is the genuine and remarkable way Danza connects with the audience:

"That sincerity shines through I'd Like to Apologize. Writing in a breezy, conversational style, Danza relates the difficulties he was facing with his own family in L.A.; his nervousness; and the challenges of finding ways to engage and connect with a disparate bunch of 15-year-olds."

Tony Danza's I'd Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I Ever Had retails for $24 and is available at bookstores nationwide on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2012.

Nicki Minaj assures Obama she was not endorsing Romney

0
0
When Minaj rapped what sounded like an endorsement for Mitt Romney last week, many were confused. But she clarified today by sending a tweet to the president.

Nicki Minaj

On Sept. 2, rap fans — Democrats and Republicans alike — were all very confused after it looked like Nicki Minaj was promoting presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

"On Lil Wayne's new mix tape, Dedication 4, released Sunday... Minaj unfurled the line, 'I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy [expletive] is [expletive] up the economy,'" according to Clinton Yates with the Washington Post.

MTV's Talib Kweli responded to fan confusion over the comment:

"Just heard a dude on Hot97 say he won't let his daughter listen to Nicki Minaj cuz she endorses Romney. Really? That's what it took? lol," Kweli tweeted, according to MTV. "I doubt Nicki seriously supports Romney. Her lyrics ain't political. She just wants y'all to talk about her & she winning cuz it's working!"

One person who was also confused, and maybe a little skeptical, was President Obama, who just happens to be Romney's opponent in this election. President Obama appeared on WPYO-FM in Orlando, Florida, Monday morning and tried to make sense of it all.

When the station mentioned the rap, Obama responded with "I'm not sure that's actually what happened," according to ABC News.

"I think she had a song on there — a little rap that said that," he continued. "But she likes to play different characters, so I don't know what's going on there."

Turns out, he was right. Today, the singer sent the POTUS a message on Twitter.

“Ha! Thank you for understanding my creative humor & sarcasm Mr. President, the smart ones always do... *sends love & support*@BarackObama," she tweeted, in response to the radio show.

Minaj has not responded to requests to clarify a little more, but the tweet may have said it all. President Obama didn't seem too worried though. He clarified that he and his wife Michelle don't fret too much over what celebrities think of him.

"The truth is when it comes to music and movies, etc. Michelle and I just focus on who's good," said Obama. "Look, I love Clint Eastwood movies, man."

Christian Bale lights up the life of 4-year-old cancer patient Jayden Barber when he flies him and his mother to Disneyland for the day.

Christian Bale treats Jayden Barber to Disneyland

Christian Bale spent time last week in Disneyland with four-year-old cancer patient Jayden Barber. Bale flew Jayden and his mom, Charlene Barber, to California from Ohio. Bale spent the day with Jayden at Disneyland's Club 33, an exclusive members-only restaurant. E! News reports that Jayden Barber suffered from bone cancer for two years and underwent chemotherapy, and last year his health took a turn for the worse when the cancer resurfaced as MDS leukemia.

Christian Bale delights Aurora victims with surprise visit >>

Charlene Barber had an idea to start the Facebook page "Lighting the Batsignal for Jayden" in an attempt to make the four-year-old's wish to meet Christian Bale come true. Bale has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success for his role as Batman, the vigilante superhero from DC Comics. Since news broke of Christian Bale's outreach to Jayden, the Facebook page has received numerous comments of encouragement from well-wishers across the nation.

Christian Bale, others speak out about Colorado shooting >>

The Barber family was finally able to reveal the exciting news of traveling to Disneyland to meet Christian Bale on Friday morning. Charlene wrote on Facebook, "Finally can share!!! Christian sent us to LA and we had lunch at Disney club 33 on wed!! He and his family were so awesome and down to earth!!!"

Perhaps most noticeable about Christian Bale's amazing act of kindness toward his young fan was the very inconspicuous way in which Bale granted Jayden's wish. Press reports only came to light after Charlene herself posted the news on the "Lighting the Batsignal for Jayden" Facebook page.

We commend Christian Bale on this heartwarming act of goodwill and wish Jayden Barber and his family all the best.

Twilight fans will be treated to marathon in November

If a new film isn't enough for Twilight fans, now they'll be able to relive the past four years — the first four films will be played at some theaters the day before.

TwilightTwilight fans knew they would get one big treat this year with the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2. But today they found out they will get another big treat.

The day before the new film is set to be released, certain theaters across the country will show all the previous films in a Twilight marathon. Breaking Dawn — Part 2 is set to be released Nov. 16, and the marathon will happen one day only, on Nov. 15.

"Those ticket-holders who aren't rushing off to the bathroom between films or to refill their popcorn bucket, will get to see the exclusive interstitial content that's set to play between films," said CinemaBlend.com. "And attendees will also get a special event-only lanyard to hold their ticket."

And some of the fans who go to the marathon will be the luckiest Twilight fans of all, because Summit announced it will be opening the film at 10 p.m. in some locations. This means some of those fans already there for the marathon may be the only ones allowed into the 10 p.m. screening.

Since the first Twilight film was released in 2008, the four films have grossed well over $1 billion in the United States alone. The new film is expected to make as much as the previous films, if not more. Since the new film is the last in the series, the possibility of seeing the marathon may add to those totals.

No details yet on which theaters will be lucky enough to hold the marathon or screening times, but those should be announced soon. The Nov. 16 release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 comes less than a year after the last film, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, was released and less than four years since the first film was released in 2008.

Amanda Bynes pulled over, again

Amanda Bynes has apparently not learned her lesson after four accidents, a DUI and two hit-and-run charges since May. So when she was caught behind the wheel last night, why was she let go with only a warning?

Amanda Bynes

You have to start keeping track of the number of times Amanda Bynes gets in trouble in her car, because otherwise you might think you're reading the same story over and over. But this one is brand new, we promise.

Just days after the actress was charged for two hit-and-runs, she was pulled over, again! The Los Angeles Police even caught the traffic stop on video, according to E! News. She was reportedly driving without her headlights on. For most people, this wouldn't be a huge deal, but for Bynes, it just adds to the list.

Not only is she now answering to her two hit-and-run cases, but the actress will also be in court next week for an April DUI charge where she refused to take a breathalyzer test. Since Bynes has been charged, but not convicted, for the hit-and-runs, it has not been confirmed that she has had her license taken away. But according to E! News, if it hasn't already happened, it is imminent.

"The DMV would not confirm the report and Bynes' lawyer, Richard Hutton, declined to comment on her license status," said E! News. "However, Hutton did tell E! News that Bynes would not appear in court next Wednesday to answer to the DUI charge, which springs from a April 6 incident involving Bynes temporarily parking her BMW into a Sheriff's patrol car."

TMZ said that after the traffic stop last night, Bynes was given a warning and allowed to drive off. But according to law, the refusal to take a breathalyzer during her DUI stop should have resulted in an automatic one-year suspension of her license.

So why was Bynes let go? It's possible her license was reinstated or even that the officer never ran her license . Or there could be a number of other reasons for not being cited. Bynes didn't comment on Sunday night's traffic stop.

Arrow is the hand of justice in action-packed preview

October can't get here fast enough. Next month, The CW will unleash its new action-packed series, Arrow. Based on the Green Arrow comics, this modernized take is more Jason Bourne, less Superman. The network has released an extended trailer that highlights the skilled fighter.

Stephen Amell from Arrow

The CW has filled its superhero void. Last year, Smallville left the network after 10 successful seasons, and its absence has been felt. So it's time to tackle another comic book adaptation — Green Arrow.

CW’s Arrow hits sexy superhero target >>

Like Smallville, which focused on a young Clark Kent, Arrow follows a young Oliver Queen . He's a billionaire playboy who moonlights as a crime fighter.

What's his power? Well, he doesn't have one. Arrow takes a page out of Batman's book. He can't fly and he doesn't have X-ray vision, but he's extremely smart and resourceful.

Juicy drama returns: CW reveals 2012 fall schedule >>

The hero's weapon of choice is a bow and arrow — hence his name. It's very old-fashioned but also very deadly. His marksmanship is unmatched. He's in great physical condition and has the means and motive to pursue a personal vendetta. Oliver Queen plans to clean up his hometown of Starling City.

As a bad boy gone good, Oliver's on a road to redemption. After living it up, he's changed forever by a near-death experience. With his new lease on life, he decides to do something worthwhile.

Watch Arrow in action in this "Justice" preview:

Aside from Arrow, several other comic book characters appear on the show. The most notable is Dinah "Laurel" Lance . In the comics, she's Oliver/Arrow's love interest who has her own superhero persona — Black Canary.

Arrow co-stars Colin Donnell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Jamey Sheridan, Susanna Thompson and Paul Blackthorne.

Arrow premieres Oct. 10 at 8/7c on The CW.

Carrie Ann Inaba dances out of her engagement

It was revealed today that 44-year-old popular Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba called off her engagement to 40-year-old Jesse Sloan in late summer 2012. The two were trying to have a baby together before their nuptials.

DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba breaks off engagement

Carrie Ann Inaba is now single. The Dancing with the Stars judge broke up with her fiance, Jesse Sloan, over the summer. Her rep confirmed the split to the press late Monday evening in a statement. Inaba's engagement to Sloan made headlines in 2011, thanks in large part to a very public proposal — on the air — while Inaba was a guest host on Live! With Regis and Kelly. At the time, Sloan professed his love and commitment to Carrie Ann Inaba in a way that would make most romantics swoon.

"I've struggled to find the words to express what you mean to me," said Sloan to a smiling Inaba. "You're an inspiration, you're beautiful, you're wonderful, you're everything to me. Will you marry me?"

Regis Philbin interrupted the proposal to comment on the engagement ring before Inaba could respond.

"Whoa, look at that, Carrie Ann," said Philbin.

However, the love in the air remained palpable as Inaba joyously responded, "Yes," as she laughed. "I will marry you... You tricked me!"

Her comment referred to a joke that took place moments earlier when guest Jake Gyllenhaal brought out a fake engagement ring and said it was for her.

Carrie Ann Inaba's rep told the press that Sloan and Inaba remain friends. People magazine reports the statement reads: "They decided early in the summer to break off their engagement and have remained friends." No further details were offered, and there is little speculation so far on the cause of the relationship's demise.

In April 2011, Inaba told People magazine of the wedding she and Sloan envisioned — an intimate ceremony in a tropical location.

"We want to get married by the ocean because it has such spiritual meaning. It's so vast and yet it unites everyone," said Carrie Ann. "We want everybody to get their feet wet in the water after we say our vows."

Carrie Ann Inaba and Jesse Sloan met on the popular dating site eHarmony. Inaba said she kept her identity a secret for a few months but finally sent Sloan a makeup-free picture of her in her native Hawaii. Despite their engagement in 2011, Inaba told Access Hollywood in October 2011 that she and Sloan were trying to have a baby together and were in no rush to get married.

"Trying for a baby, absolutely," said Carrie Ann when asked about her family plans. "Whichever comes first is fine. We don't have to be married to have the baby. My age at 43, I have to get moving on the baby. The wedding can come later."

Is Ryan Reynolds a serial husband?

A wedding is always a happy event. But for the 35-year-old actor, his wedding Sunday to actress Blake Lively is not new territory.

The women of Ryan Reynolds

Now that our hearts have accepted the news that Ryan Reynolds is again off the market, it's time to start wondering why he keeps playing with us like this. The actor's marriage Sunday to Blake Lively isn't the first time we've had to let him go, and it makes you wonder why this is at least the third time this has happened.

Reynolds met fellow Canadian Alanis Morissette at Drew Barrymore's birthday party in 2002, and they were engaged in 2004. In 2005, Morissette talked to People about their relationship, saying, "We're just really enjoying this [engagement] phase."

Reynolds added, "We feel like we're already married."

But it was not meant to be... the couple split in February 2007.

Enter Scarlett Johansson. Very soon after the relationship with Morissette ended, Reynolds began dating the actress. They announced their engagement in 2008 and were married later that year.

When Johansson started dating Ryan Reynolds, she talked to Cosmopolitan about the relationship: "I'm very, very happy."

When they split in 2010, it seemed to come as a surprise to everyone but Reynolds and Johansson.

While they never gave a specific cause for the breakup, Johansson spoke with Vogue magazine about what she was going through after the divorce.

"Of course it's horrible. It was devastating," the actress said. "It really throws you. You think that your life is going to be one way, and then, for various reasons or whatever, it doesn’t work out."

Reynolds filed for divorce from Johansson in December 2010.

It was first reported that the actor was dating Green Lantern co-star Blake Lively in October 2011, four months after his divorce from Johansson was official. However, Green Lantern filmed even earlier than that — from March to August 2010.

The crossover of the dates might raise some eyebrows. But even if you can ignore that, Reynolds is obviously a man who likes being in a serious relationship... his marriage to Lively on Sunday shows he is a man who is in love with love. We can always hope, for both Reynolds' and Lively’s sake, that this one will be the one that will stick.

Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow visit Katie on her first day

On Katie's first day, she welcomed two special guests. They talked babies, relationships and life setbacks.

Katie Couric and Sheryl Crow

Today felt like Katie Couric's first day of school, and she did not disappoint. Two friends helped her launch her new daytime talk show Katie. Jessica Simpson appeared for her first televised interview since giving birth to Maxwell Drew in May.

"Motherhood is a dream," said the singer. "It really is absolutely amazing."

She also spoke about the pressure to lose weight after the birth and signing on as a spokeswoman for Weight Watchers.

"I really didn't want it to be about my weight because I know that everybody has their weight and has their issues," she said. "I really wanted it to be about the spirit of Weight Watchers and how I was feeling, and I wanted to talk directly to people so, um, I didn't want the like big body reveal moment. It's not really who I am, and Weight Watchers was on board with that, thankfully."

Simpson said she has lost than 40 pounds and has 10 pounds to go to complete her goal.

The singer and actress said she and Eric Johnson, Drew's father, haven't had time to plan their wedding since their daughter takes up most of their time, but that he loves being a dad.

"People call him the best dad in the world. Even my dad calls him that," she said. "He is an incredible father, he can do everything. He can change every diaper, and he can have her all day long and I don't have to stress about it."

Sheryl Crow also joined Couric on her inaugural show. The big news in the singer's life is her recent diagnosis of a benign brain tumor. Crow has her theory about how she got the tumor.

"I say it's in my cell phone area and there are no doctors that will confirm that," she told Couric. "But I do have the theory that... it's possible that it's related to that because early, early days when I was promoting my first record I did hours of phoners on the old archaic cell phones."

Couric asked about her ex-fiance Lance Armstrong, who has had a tough summer.

"Well, I haven't seen Lance in a few years. But it was hard, he's somebody I really care about. I rely on his foundation," said Crow. "I know how hard he worked to win those titles and it was hard to watch. You know, I, felt bad. I felt bad for him."

This week, Couric will welcome Aimee Mann, Heidi Klum and Jennifer Lopez. You can check out her website for show times and channel in your area.

New Gossip Girl preview: "Everyone gets exposed"

Someone's getting married on Gossip Girl. The latest trailer shows a top-secret wedding — and the gossip gang wasn't invited. But since when has something like no invitations stopped them from crashing a party?

Gossip Girl Season 6

Don't let the smiles fool you: Gossip Girl is bringing the drama. A lot has changed since the last time we saw our favorite Upper East Siders. One person in particular has undergone a huge transformation.

Gossip Girl set to kick off sixth and final season >>

In the latest promo for the sixth season premiere, Chuck, Blair and the rest of the gang are crashing a party. Whose party? It's Serena's — or should we say Sabrina's?

We don't know the specifics, but it looks like Serena's getting hitched. And her groom is none other than 7th Heaven alum Barry Watson. She claims to want a fresh start, but her friends aren't buying it.

Isn't it ironic that this promo was released a day after Blake Lively's real-life wedding to Ryan Reynolds? Talk about good timing.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively got hitched! >>

Serena isn't the only person getting some loving. Chuck and Blair are back to their old ways. They're hitting the sheets and causing trouble. So where does that leave Dan? Judging from the trailer, he's a little bitter. Both Blair and Serena slap him after he spews a few saucy comments. Can they blame the guy? He's been emotionally used and abused. Dan's not the best company right now.

Also, watch out for the return of Michelle Trachtenberg's Georgina. She lays down the law and declares everyone must be exposed!

Check out the preview below:

Gossip Girl returns Oct. 8 at 9/8c on The CW.
