Low-Dose Aspirin May Help Prevent & Treat Ovarian Cancer

Aspirin has many purposes: It can help alleviate pain and serves as a fever reducer, and taking a daily dose may also lower your risk of heart attack according to the Mayo Clinic. In addition, aspirin has been shown to have anticancer properties — specifically when it comes to breast, liver, colorectal and gastrointestinal cancers according to the National Cancer Institute. However, two new studies revealed that low-dose aspirin might have an additional perk: taking one low-dose pill a day could help women avoid ovarian cancer or boost their survival if they should develop it.

The first study, conducted by the National Cancer Institute and the Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida and published in the Journal of the National Cancer Instituteasked more than 750,000 women about their use of aspirin and NSAID pain relievers (the class of pain relievers aspirin is a part of). What researchers found was that those who used aspirin on a daily basis had a lower risk of developing ovarian cancer. In fact, the risk was reduced by 10 percent.

More: What You Need to Know About Ovarian Cancer

“This study gives us a new perspective on whether aspirin and non-aspirin NSAIDs can impact cancer risk," Dr. Shelley S. Tworoger, senior study author and associate center director for Population Science at Moffitt Cancer Center, said in a statement. "Not only does it look at ovarian cancer, which hasn’t been studied before... the results of the study support that aspirin can reduce ovarian cancer risk."

However, Tworoger noted that additional research is needed before doctors can make a recommendation on daily aspirin use for this purpose. For example, we need to figure out the optimal dosage to reap aspirin's potential cancer-fighting benefits as well as whether baby aspirin or regular aspirin works best, she explained in the statement.

The second study, from the Moffitt Cancer Center and the University of Hawaii in Honolulu, published in The Lancet Oncology, analyzed data from nearly 1,000 women with ovarian cancer. What researchers found there was even more promising. People who used aspirin and nonaspirin NSAIDs after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer experienced as much as a 30 percent improvement in survival.

“To our knowledge, this study contributes the first comprehensive assessment of use of several types of common analgesic medications, such as aspirin and non-aspirin NSAIDs, after diagnosis in relation to ovarian cancer survival,” Dr. Melissa A. Merritt, assistant research professor at University of Hawaii Cancer Center, said in a statement. “Our work demonstrates the importance of common medication in increasing survival rates of ovarian cancer, and this will encourage more studies to be conducted to confirm the results and broaden the discovery.”

Ovarian cancer is the fifth-leading cause of death for women aged 35 to 74 according to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, and while it can be difficult to diagnose, the five-year survival rate for those who receive an early diagnosis is 90 percent — making prevention and detection key.

That said, it should be noted that aspirin therapy is not for everyone. According to the Mayo Clinic, a daily regimen may increase your risk of having a stroke and/or gastrointestinal bleeding. As always, consult your doctor before starting any new medical routine.

Things Are Getting Serious Between Chris Pratt & Katherine Schwarzenegger

Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger have only been seeing each other for a few months, but over the weekend, the new couple hit a major milestone: Schwarzenegger was introduced to Pratt's son, Jack, during a group church date involving the trio. Could this be a sign that they are getting really serious about one another?

More: Is Chris Pratt Officially Ready for Love Again?

In pictures obtained by The Daily Mail and later circulated on Twitter, Pratt and Schwarzenegger were spotted on Sunday in Los Angeles engaging in some major PDA outside of an ice cream shop. The pair had reportedly taken Pratt's son, Jack, to church together earlier in the day and later, ventured out as a group for a sweet treat. It certainly looked like a happy date for everyone involved. If anything, seeing Schwarzenegger hanging out with Jack indicates that Pratt might really be feeling the vibe with her. You don't just introduce your kids to your girlfriend unless you're serious, you know?

This church-and-ice cream group hangout is the second time that Pratt and Schwarzenegger have been spotted by photographers. Back in June, the pair were seen having a laugh-filled picnic lunch date together on Father's Day. We also learned shortly after news of their picnic that Pratt and Schwarzenegger were apparently introduced to one another through Schwarzenegger's mother, Maria Shriver.

Neither Pratt nor Schwarzenegger have publicly confirmed their relationship, nor have any sources close to them. This relationship is the first one, to our knowledge, that Pratt has had since announcing his split from Anna Faris in August 2017. We have no idea how Pratt and Schwarzenegger's relationship will develop but if you ask us, they not only make a really cute couple — they look like a seriously devoted couple, too.

9 Foods With Antiaging Benefits

$

There's a lot of conflicting advice online about which foods have antiaging properties. Before shelling out for various supplements, "miracle" foods and other hyped-up potions and tinctures, we decided to consult some experts on which foods can actually be considered to have antiaging properties and what the science behind their claims is. It turns out, some of the best antiaging foods are things you probably already have in your fridge. Get ready to eat your way to that youthful glow.

1. Turmeric

A lot has been said about turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties, which apparently does wonders for the skin too. "The skin is one of the first things that we want to protect from aging because it can lose it's elasticity and texture," Lahana Vigliano, CEO and owner of Thrival Nutrition, tells SheKnows. To this end, turmeric "has an amazing antioxidant count. Antioxidants help reduce free radicals in the body that cause damage to cells such as [in] the skin."

But that's not all. "The curcumin in turmeric was shown in a study by Neuroscience to reduce mitochondrial dysfunction and damage. This reduces risk of chronic fatigue and degenerative diseases that increase with aging."

Luckily, it's easy to incorporate turmeric into your diet. Try sipping on golden milk, adding it to your favorite stews and curries, using it to make your rice a lovely yellow color or sprinkling it over roasted potatoes.

2. Collagen peptides

Collagen seems to be increasing in popularity as a functional food. Just as the collagen in bone broth is thought to be good for skin and hair, so too are collagen peptides.

Why are they so helpful? "Collagen is the primary structural component of the skin. Collagen is necessary in order to have healthy, firm and supple-looking skin," licensed integrative clinical nutritionist and functional medicine practitioner Jennie Miremadi tells SheKnows. "Studies of individuals supplementing with collagen showed an increase in collagen density and skin firmness and a reduction in dryness and wrinkles."

The benefit of buying powdered collagen peptides is that you can add them to coffee, smoothies and other foods without even tasting them.

3. Protein

Protein isn't just important if you're a bodybuilder, Dr. Venus Ramos tells SheKnows. "Protein foods are a major factor in 'prolonging youth,' especially once you hit your 40s, when your muscle mass begins to decline by up to 1 percent every year," she explained. "As you get older, you may more easily lose your balance and set yourself up for a bad fall. And your body is less likely to recover well from such an accident."

For ideal sources of protein, Ramos recommends fish, skinless pasture-raised chicken and turkey breast and lean grass-fed beef and pork or tempeh if you're vegetarian.

4. Blueberries

That blueberry smoothie you drink in the morning is better for you than you might think. According to Ramos, blueberries have tons of antiaging benefits. Among them? They boost memory function and have a high vitamin C content. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that attacks "skin-damaging free radicals. Free radicals are molecules that can cause extensive cell damage and are associated with chronic inflammation."

Eat them plain, with yogurt, with granola or in your favorite smoothie.

5. Fatty fish

Omega-3 fatty acids, like those found in fish, have antiaging properties. Ramos says, "Omega-3 fatty acids are great for reducing inflammation, lowering cholesterol, improving digestion and enhancing skin circulation. Recent studies also suggest that omega-3s can act on the brain to improve mood and attitude."

Ramos recommends getting your fatty acids from fish — like tuna, salmon and herring — or walnuts, pecans and flaxseed if you don't like seafood.

6. Green veggies

Everyone knows that veggies are healthy, but they can also contribute to your vitality. Why? Dr. Stephen Schimpff, author of Longevity Decoded — The 7 Keys to Healthy Aging, tells SheKnows, "Veggies have a wealth of antioxidants, which counter free radicals produced in the mitochondria and which in turn damage cell products and often the cell DNA. Veggies also contain other vitamins, like B12 and B6 and folate, all important for brain stability."

That's not all — they're good for your gut too. "Vegetables and fruits contain fiber, which is the preferred food for the 'good' bacteria" in your gut, "the microbiome which is critical for intestinal stability and which, if dysfunctional, produces inflammatory compounds that speed the aging process."

To ensure you get enough veggies in your diet, Schimpff recommends you make sure your plate is comprised of two-thirds vegetables and one-third protein.

7. Bergamot

Bergamot is a type of citrus, and it's what gives Earl Grey tea its signature flavor. Functional medicine nutritionist Morgan Mellas Kandell tells SheKnows that because it's rich in polyphenols, bergamot "is one of the most potent food tools to promote autophagy." Autophagy "refers to the body's mechanism of cleaning up cellular waste and repairing damage that results from oxidation. This naturally occurring process declines as we age. Increasing autophagy improves mental focus, skin radiance, inflammation and neurological health."

Kandell recommends drinking several cups of bergamot tea a day to reap the benefits.

8. Cherries

Dr. Tsippora Shainhouse, a dermatologist in Los Angeles, tells SheKnows cherries are where it's at if you want younger-looking skin.

"Anthocyanins are antioxidants found in red and purple fruits and vegetables and are helpful in reducing the inflammation and free-radical damage in the skin due to UV and everyday air pollution. It is found in strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, but cherries have the highest levels of all."

Head to the farmers market and pick up some cherries to get that youthful glow.

9. Vitamin D-containing foods

Vitamin D can help prevent the shortening of telomeres, the caps of genetic material on the free ends of DNA strands, says Shainhouse. "These telomeres shorten with age, rendering the DNA more and more unstable until the cell dies," which can affect skin health. "A study demonstrated that telomeres were significantly longer in patients with the highest serum vitamin D levels compared to those with the lowest," an equivalent of five years of aging. Taking a vitamin D supplement that contains calcium can also reduce the risk of developing melanoma for women who have a history of nonmelanoma skin cancer.

To get enough vitamin D, Shainhouse recommends drinking milk, fortified orange juice and eating fatty fish, cod liver oil, egg yolks, beef and cheese — and taking a vitamin D supplement daily.

Add these foods to your diet, and you could slow down the aging process by years.

Khloé Kardashian Shamed for Leaving Baby True With... True's Dad?!

It seems moms can never win: We're shamed for breastfeeding our babies, for formula-feeding our babies and for all manner of other things. In our culture, moms are damned if they do and damned if they don’t — and celebrity moms are no exception. In fact, celebs often take the bulk of the visible criticism because they're raising their children in the spotlight. This week, it was Khloé Kardashian’s turn to be shamed — because she left her baby daughter at home… with the baby's father. (The horror!)

Kardashian, who gave birth to her first child, True Thompson, in April, was bashed for going to a charity poker event while her daughter’s father, Tristan Thompson, stayed home. You know, something normal parents do.

Of course, Kardashian is just one woman in a long line of the absurdly mom-shamed. In recent weeks, Victoria Beckham caught heat because people think her 19-year-old son Brooklyn has too many tattoos; a few weeks ago Kardashian's sister, Kourtney Kardashian, was shamed for posting a photo of herself in a bikini (the critics implied that Kourtney was too busy taking pics to be caring for her kids, who were in fact taking the photo itself).

On Sunday evening, Khloé Kardashian explained herself on Twitter: “Mommy shamers r at a high right now. I'm sick, at a charity event & I'm getting slack 4being here bc I have a baby? Her dad is watching her while I'm trying 2bring awareness 2an amazing organization. But either way, what's wrong w a new mom letting daddy take over 4a few hours?”

Kardashian attended the If Only Texas hold ’em tournament alongside her mother, Kris Jenner, and her sisters Kim Kardashian West and Kendall Jenner. The event, which was the first of its kind, was benefitting the City of Hope — a cancer treatment and research center in Southern California.

Just a few weeks ago, Kardashian opened up about having to leave True for the first time to return to work and, in a series of Snaps, she explained that the impending time away was making her very anxious. “Tomorrow is my first day back work… [and] I’m very anxious. I don’t know how I’m going to leave her all day.”

Does that sound like a neglectful mom to you? Sub-question: Would people be freaking out about a dad leaving his baby with the kid's mom? We think not. So pipe down, please.

If you were hoping these Total Bellas stars would get back together, you better prepare yourself for some bad news. Nikki Bella and John Cena are officially done, Bella told People in a statement on Monday.

"After I called off the engagement, we tried to work on our relationship to get back to where it was, and in order to move forward with our wedding," she said. "After much time and soul-searching alone and together, we have decided to officially part ways." Bella continued, "I had a beautiful and loving 6-year relationship with a wonderful man. I have the utmost respect for John, but I know this is what’s best for me."

It doesn't appear Cena has responded to Bella's statement, but, on Monday, he shared a cryptic tweet that may or may not be in reference to their official split. "If you can learn something from your experiences, good and bad, you will live with little to no regret," he wrote.

During the Total Bellas season three finale, which aired on July 29, fans watched as Bella called off her wedding to Cena a second time. "It just sucks,” she said in the finale. "I wish it could be different and I think that’s why I’ve had almost six years of working on us and fighting and just taking in a lot. I just feel like I’ve hit the point that I’m just so exhausted and done."

Over the third season, viewers saw Bella struggling with whether or not she really wanted to walk down the aisle. Come the season finale, it was unclear if Bella and Cena would work through their issues after she decided she wasn't ready for marriage and would also be moving out of their home in San Diego. Well, based on the professional wrestler's most recent statement, she is moving forward — and without Cena.

"It’s just hard when you love someone so much and care for them so much, but you just can’t do it anymore," she said during the Season 3 finale. "It’s not his fault, it’s not my fault. We’ve had this amazing love story and it’s just come to an end."

In April, Bella and Cena announced they called off their engagement. It was definitely shocking. Then, and as fans watched in season three, they got back together after Cena said he would have children with Bella. Previously, Bella said the actor not wanting to have kids played a part in why she couldn't marry him. But, once he said he would, they reconciled, but only for a short time.

Now, the two have gone their separate ways and what appears to be for good this time. As upsetting as their breakup might be for 'shippers, it sounds like it's what best — at least for Bella.

Does Buying BPA-Free Plastic Matter?

$

Chances are at least one (or five) people in your social circle have expressed concerns about eating from plastic containers and using plastic cutlery. But are these plastic products really as toxic as many people believe — and does buying BPA-free products really make a difference?

Dr. Steve Hentges, senior director of the Polycarbonate/BPA Global Group at the American Chemistry Council, tells SheKnows that polycarbonate plastic is frequently used to make reusable plastic containers, plates and cutlery because it's clear, light and shatter-resistant.

Hentges explains that the controversy surrounding bisphenol A (better known as BPA) comes from claims that low levels may be harmful to our health — but he says research tells a different story.

More: The FDA Approved These 8 Questionable Additives — but Are They Really Safe?

"A comprehensive research program conducted by the U.S. government and aimed at resolving remaining uncertainties about BPA safety has recently reached a conclusion," Hentges says. "Based substantially on this research, which includes approximately 30 studies, the FDA answers the question 'Is BPA safe?' with a clear and unambiguous answer: 'Yes.'"

Pediatrician Dr. Neela Sethi Young acknowledges the FDA findings but remains wary of products that contain BPA. "There has been previous data suggesting that BPA can have negative effects on the brain and on the prostate glands of fetuses, infants and children," Young tells SheKnows. "It has also been reported that BPA can lead to higher blood pressure."

Young is a proponent of buying BPA-free products, noting that it's fairly easy to find them and they have the added bonus of being environmentally friendly. "I believe that we as a society should decrease our use of plastic given its negative effects on our environment and try to move towards reusable containers as much as possible," she says. "Decreasing our carbon footprint will help us all in the future."

More: Is Cooking With Aluminum Foil Toxic?

But from a health standpoint, the FDA has spoken, and Hentges says that buying BPA-free products doesn't matter for consumers. "The proliferation of BPA-free labels is an indication that some product manufacturers have decided to replace materials made from BPA or simply to avoid them in the first place," he explains.

In that sense, Hentges says that the purpose of a BPA-free label may be more of a sales and marketing ploy than an earnest attempt at consumer transparency. "The manufacturer may be trying to make you think that the product is somehow better without BPA," he says.

More: 13 Things Vegans Can't Eat (Even Though They Seem Totally Fine)

Hentges also points out that the BPA-free labels tell us what the product doesn't contain, but fail to provide information about what it does contain. So although the label is factually accurate, it doesn't necessarily provide a complete or helpful picture.

"Manufacturers of BPA-free products are replacing materials made from BPA, which has a 50-year track record of safety and high performance," Hentges explains. "In light of the results of the CLARITY study, which demonstrate that BPA has very little potential to harm us even when we’re exposed to it throughout our lives, avoiding BPA doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense."

Although there's certainly no harm in purchasing BPA-free products, according to Hentges and the FDA, there's no need to fret or panic over the safety of using plastic containers and cutlery. But in the interest of being kind to Mother Earth, it's probably best to use these products in moderation.

Why You Desperately Need Edged Orgasms in Your Life & How to Do It

$

0

Seems a bit like torture doesn’t it? Preventing someone from having an orgasm? That's basically what edging is.

Edging, also known as a "prolonged orgasm," is a popular form of sexual performance in the BDSM community. And what's known as the "superior orgasm" by many in the kink community is a method in which an individual withholds their orgasm — by affirming control over the body, the individual can choose when to come, whether it’s up to their partner or themselves.

More: Here's What You Need to Know About 'Psychic Orgasms'

Edging takes place at the cusp of an orgasm right when you're about to come and then choose to stop yourself. As humans, we seek instant gratification, which may paint edging as a horrible experience. For many, it may come off as teasing or denying yourself the orgasm that you deserve. However, edging can create a prolonged orgasm if done correctly and over the course of several moments of withdrawal.

Start solo

To begin experimenting with edging, it's recommended you start by practicing solo. Restraining oneself can seem torturous — it takes a great amount of control to compartmentalize the situation.

First, understand how important slow breathing is in the situation. Imagine your yoga technique and breathe in slowly while focusing on the inhale and breathing out in a long, drawn-out release. This breathing technique can help you focus on the moment and on masturbating successfully with an orgasm in mind.

Clinical sexologist Rena McDaniel says, "Often, we rush towards the supposed finish line of orgasm with little thought and even less attention to sustained pleasure. Edging is a great way slow down and enjoy the journey."

More: Can You Build Up a Tolerance to Orgasms?

The point of no return

It takes women, on average, four minutes to reach an orgasm during masturbation (as noted in Sexual Behavior in the Human Female). While this is something that is celebrated (hell yeah for getting yourselves off), it's also something that should be avoided with edging. The key during edging is to slowly build yourself up as you utilize toys — finding the right one might take some experimentation — and test your limits.

Once you feel yourself getting ready to climax, drastically switch what you are doing to your body. Move your body or move your toy to another position in order to alter the pressure point. The point of no return is when arousal turns into an orgasm. The physiological responses to this moment include contractions and vibrations. Pay attention to signs that you are reaching your PNR. These can include shallow breaths, tightening of muscles, pleasure increase and a desire to push down.

McDaniel says edging "causes you to maintain sustained attention on pleasure, which signals your brain to increase blood flow to all of the important bits."

Becoming comfortable with your PNR should be practiced during masturbation. Edging isn't easy the first time you try it; it takes practice. That's why working on yourself is important before moving on to another human in the flesh. Once you understand your PNR, you can stop yourself from going beyond this point and properly edge.

Edging with a partner

When you're ready to play with someone else, make sure to find someone you're comfortable with sexually. Communication is huge when it comes to edging. Whether it's verbal or physical (i.e., moving their hand or sex organ away) communicating is the only way that your partner will know you’re about to be close to coming. Men and women can both edge, which makes the experience a suitable method to try out between partners. Edging can be a way for you to introduce dominance into the bedroom and control when and how your partner will orgasm. This form of control can also help your partner last longer, resulting in an orgasm that you can experience together.

More: If Sex Doesn't Make You Orgasm, You're Not Alone, & Here's What Can Help

Because edging takes some time, make sure to have your lubricant close by. The concept of edging may seem frustrating, and some people may take longer than others to achieve a successful prolonged orgasm. If you're someone who has a difficult time having an orgasm, edging may seem like a waste or a sexual privilege. Edging is paired with a form of sexual entitlement.

However, you deserve the most superior and most prolonged orgasm of your life. It takes practice. It takes time. It isn’t the easiest way to come, but once you achieve it, you’ll never look back.

The Secret Meanings Behind Each of the Kardashian-Jenner Baby Names

Whether you like it or not, the Kardashian-Jenner clan is growing. With three new KarJenner babies this year — Chicago, Stormi and True — the OG Keeping Up with the Kardashians family is bigger than ever. And in case you haven’t noticed, their baby names keep getting more and more unique. (We’re still not over Stormi with an I.)

More: 47 Nostalgic Throwback Pictures of the Kardashians Before They Were Famous

But how did Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West, Rob Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Khloé Kardashian come up with their one-of-a-kind baby names in the first place? Well, like many things that confuse us about the Kardashian-Jenners, there’s a story behind everything. From the way the Kardashian-Jenner sisters nod to their baby daddies to the puns they created with the father’s last names (looking at you, North), the tales behind these titles are almost as interesting as the family themselves. Find out the meanings behind each of the Kardashian-Jenner baby names ahead.

True Thompson

Though it was rumored that True’s name was a dis of Khloé Kardashian’s boyfriend and baby daddy, Tristan Thompson (who reportedly cheated on her weeks before True’s birth), the name is actually the name of True’s great-great-grandfather, True Otis Houghton. In an Instagram, True’s grandmother, Kris Jenner, revealed that her grandfather on her dad’s side was named True, which is where Khloé got the name from. (Fun fact: Kris’ father’s middle name was also True, so it runs in the family.) “My Grandfather’s name on my Dad’s side was True Otis Houghton….my Dad’s name was Robert True Houghton…so i am so excited Khloe named her daughter True!!!” Kris wrote on Instagram.

Stormi Webster

Of all the Kardashian-Jenner babies, Stormi might have the most unique name, but she also has the most mundane story behind it. For the Evening Standard‘s May cover, Kim Kardashian West interviewed Kylie Jenner about the origin of Stormi, which came from a simple conversation between Kylie and her boyfriend (Stormi’s dad), Travis Scott. “I really don’t know how we thought of Storm. Her dad insisted it was him, but I feel like it was me. And that kind of just stuck with us,” Kylie said.

Thinking Storm was too simple, Kylie added an I to her daughter’s name, and thus, Stormi Webster was born. “And then I didn’t really like just Storm — I didn’t feel like that was her name. So then it became Stormi,” Kylie said. “And it just stuck. I feel like there were a lot of other names that I might have even liked better to be honest, but I feel like Stormi picked her own name, like it was just her name.”

Chicago West

For die-hard Kanye West fans, the meaning behind Chicago’s name is simple: It’s where he grew up. Though West was born in Atlanta, he was raised in the South Side of Chicago, so it makes sense that his third child’s name was a nod to where he grew up. Many fans also believe that Chicago is a tribute to West’s mother, Donda, who raised him in the Windy City and died in 2007.

Dream Renée Kardashian

Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna reportedly agreed on Dream’s name long before she was born. “They named her Dream because they’ve always said she’s a dream come true,” a source told People. And though Dream is a more on-the-nose reference to what the word means, a lesser-known fact is that Dream’s middle name, Renée, is the same as her mom's, whose real name is Angela Renée White. Another fun fact: The name Renée in French is the word for “rebirth.”

Saint West

It’s no secret that Kim Kardashian West went through the ringer when she was pregnant with her second child, Saint. (She documented several miscarriage scares on her show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians.) So, naturally, she and Kanye West would think of their son as a blessing. An E! News source claims the couple named their son Saint because they saw him as a blessing through Kardashian West’s difficult pregnancy. As for those who wondered why they didn’t name him South West, Kardashian West shot that option down in a 2015 interview with NPR. “I don’t like South West, though, because that’s like — you know, North will always be better,” she said.

Reign Aston Disick

Though Reign’s dad, Scott Disick, calls himself Lord Disick, his mom, Kourtney Kardashian, takes full responsibility for coming up with the title. In an interview with People, Kourtney revealed that she had been thinking of the name since she was pregnant with her first child, Mason. The name came up again when Kourtney was pregnant with her second baby, Penelope, but at that time, she spelled it "Rain."

When she was pregnant with her third child, she was sure that it would be a girl and decided from the beginning that Rain would be the name. But when her baby turned out to be a son, she changed the spelling to "Reign," which suits the family better. “Once I found out I was having a boy, we just changed the spelling again,” Kourtney said. As for Reign’s middle name, Kourtney wanted something that started with an A, so his initials would spell out R.A.D.

North West

North started out as a joke, but as time went on, Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West seriously considered it as the name of their first child. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Kardashian West revealed that Pharrell Williams initially asked the couple if they were going to name their child North. After Kardashian West shot the idea down, Anna Wintour later came to the couple with the same suggestion, which is when Kardashian West and West decided that North it was. “She told us, ‘North is a genius name.’ Kanye and I looked at one another and just laughed. I guess at that point it sort of stuck,” Kardashian West said.

Penelope Scotland Disick

Like many baby names, Penelope was born because Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick thought the name was cute according to an E! News interview with Kris Jenner. As for Penelope’s middle name, Scotland, it was also a suggestion from Kris, who pitched it as a nod to Penelope’s dad’s first name, Scott.

Mason Dash Disick

“Right before he was born, I told my aunt we were thinking about going with that for a name. She told me that Mason means the same thing in English that Kardashian means in Armenian — stone worker,” Kourtney told MTV of her firstborn's name. “Another aunt told me my great uncle used to use the name Mason when he made dinner reservations because Kardashian was too long.”

As for his middle name, Dash, it’s simply a nod to Kourtney’s last name, Kardashian, and the nickname that her dad, Robert Kardashian, was called. “Dash is short for Kardashian, and it was my father’s nickname,” she said.

If you're someone who doesn't live with anxiety, it may be difficult to understand the condition that makes some people feel completely out of control, constantly nervous and sometimes unable to get out of bed and function. If, like me, you're someone who does live with anxiety, you may wonder why one minute you could be feeling relatively OK about something and then the next minute, for seemingly no reason, start to panic and feel like you're having a heart attack and dying. The point is anxiety raises a lot of questions, one of the most prominent being what causes the condition?

The good news is we are one step closer to understanding that thanks to a new study published in the Journal of Neuroscience that found that anxiety can run in families — in monkeys, at least.

The researchers discovered a pattern of brain activity linked to anxiety and traced it through several generations of monkeys to better understand the specific characteristics of the brain that are associated with anxiety and how they are passed down.

“We are continuing to discover the brain circuits that underlie human anxiety, especially the alterations in circuit function that underlie the early childhood risk to develop anxiety and depressive disorders,’’ Dr. Ned Kalin, University of Wisconsin-Madison professor and chairman of psychiatry, said in a statement. “In data from a species closely related to humans, these findings strongly point to alterations in human brain function that contribute to the level of an individual’s anxiety. Most importantly these findings are highly relevant to children with pathological anxiety and hold the promise to guide the development of new treatment approaches.”

More: Can Workplace Anxiety Be a Good Thing?

Kalin and his colleagues hypothesize that the same genes that underlie the connectivity of this circuit in the brain also underlie anxious temperament. This research, along with other studies currently being conducted in Kalin's laboratory, aim to identify gene alterations that can be made in the parts of the brain related to anxiety. This is important because it may result in new treatments for anxiety that are targeted at the cause of the condition rather than its symptoms.

Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the U.S. according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America — affecting around 40 million adults age 18 and older, or 18.1 percent of the population — so there is significant interest in finding its root cause.

It's all coming together, folks! As we get closer and closer to the premiere date of Dancing with the Stars: Juniors, we are learning some new and exciting details about those involved. We already know two of the youngsters joining the cast (Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo's Alana Thompson and Black-ish's Miles Brown), but on Monday, we finally learned who would be judging the Juniors cast. Fear not: These judges are bringing some serious credentials with them to their new TV gig.

More: The First 2 Kids Cast on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors Are Announced

As is typical with big DWTS announcements (and later reported by TV Line), the Juniors judges were introduced on Monday's edition of Good Morning America. Those three judges are: DWTS: Athletes winner Adam Rippon, choreographer Mandy Moore and DWTS alum Val Chmerkovskiy. Exciting, right?

The GMA announcement was followed up with a separate announcement video featuring all Rippon, Moore and Chmerkovskiy sitting together and joking around before confirming they're all going to be Juniors judges. It's nice to see their rapport as a trio in the announcement video and, given how much fun they seem to be having, we think it bodes well for the kind of lighthearted back-and-forth that will happen once they get seated at the Juniors judges table.

We can expect the judges to not only bring some fun to the Juniors set as a group, but individually, they'll be bringing some serious know-how to their new roles thanks to their respective work histories.

In addition to winning the Athletes edition of DWTS, Rippon is an Olympic figure skater who nabbed a bronze medal at the 2018 Olympic games. As for Moore, she's built a solid career as a choreographer for movies like La La Land (ever heard of it?) and has produced routines for DWTS and So You Think You Can Dance? And longtime fans of DWTS know Chmerkovskiy, who recently finished up a dance tour with older brother Maksim Chmerkovskiy and sister-in-law Peta Murgatroyd and who has appeared as a dance pro on numerous past seasons of DWTS.

All in all, this Juniors judges panel looks like a fun, talented bunch of folks, and that only makes us more excited to see how this edition of DWTS pans out. We're still awaiting the official casting announcements to be made, but hopefully, it will happen soon, because before you know it, the DWTS: Juniors premiere will be here on Sunday, Oct. 7 on ABC.

Kate Spade’s husband, Andy Spade, paid tribute to his late wife on Monday by sharing a touching photo — and story — on his Instagram page: a photo of a beautifully decorated desert tree.

“She [Kate] was born Christmas Eve, 1962,” Andy wrote. “She loved the Midwest, the desert, and the city. I was lucky enough to have dear friends let my daughter and [I] stay at their home through a difficult time. This tree was standing alone beside the house so we ordered those multicolored, old fashioned lights from Amazon or Target and another dear personal friend gave me a really Iong extension cord and Bea and I cut a star out of the cardboard box the lights came on and wrapped it in Reynolds wrap."

Andy explained that this was a family tradition he, Kate and Bea upheld every year and — in her memory — the pair was continuing it.

Kate, who is known for her namesake fashion brand, died by suicide on June 5, 2018. She was 55 years old.

In a statement released to The New York Times the day after Kate’s death, Andy said: “Kate was the most beautiful woman in the world. She was the kindest person I’ve ever known and my best friend for 35 years. My daughter and I are devastated by her loss, and can’t even begin to fathom life without her. We are deeply heartbroken and miss her already.”

Bradley Cooper’s Ex, Suki Waterhouse, May Be Dating Another Movie Star

Do we have a new couple in our midst? It certainly looks like model and actor Suki Waterhouse has a new love interest in the form of actor Robert Pattinson. It's been a minute since Waterhouse, who landed on our radars both professionally as a model and an actor around the time she was dating actor Bradley Cooper from 2013 to 2015, has been publicly linked to any potential new partners, but we have to admit she and Pattinson make a pretty cute couple if, in fact, they are one.

More: Our Favorite New Couples in Hollywood

E! News first reported on the possible Waterhouse-Pattinson pairing on Monday evening. The pair was seen walking through London's Notting Hill neighborhood after catching a 9 p.m. local time screening of Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again! at the Electric Cinema. Based on the movie choice alone, we'd be willing to bet good money this was a first date for the two celebs.

But E! News also managed to publish photos of Waterhouse and Pattinson looking rather cozy and lovey-dovey. In a handful of photos, we can see them walking together, snuggled up, laughing and at one point, going in for a kiss.

Waterhouse and Pattinson have both been on their own respective romantic roller coasters in recent years. As reported by Us Weekly, since ending her relationship with Cooper in early 2015, Waterhouse moved on to dating actor Diego Luna in late 2015 and was romantically linked to director Darren Aronofsky in 2018, although reps for Aronofsky denied they were involved. Meanwhile, Pattinson dated and was for a brief time engaged to British singer FKA Twigs until the pair officially split in 2017.

Neither Waterhouse nor Pattinson has commented on whether they're an item, although that's not too surprising since both celebs keep their personal lives to themselves. Color us very curious to see how this turns out!

This Game of Thrones Castle Is Up for Sale, & It's Actually Kind of Affordable

Have you ever wanted to live in a castle? Better yet, have you ever wanted to live in a Game of Thrones castle? You know, one of the many elaborate sets used on the HBO series. Well, now’s your chance.

Gosford Castle, which served as Riverrun — part of the House Tully — in season three of GoT is for sale in Northern Ireland, and according to Mansion Real Estate, the property can be yours for the low, low price of £500,000, or $656,452 USD (which is less than the cost of your average New York City home).

More: The Relationship Status of Every Game of Thrones Actor

Fans may remember the beautiful building from the scene in which Robb Stark (Richard Madden) executed Rickard Karstark (John Stahl). However, the gorgeous stone castle, which was built in the 1800s for the Earl of Gosford, has a far richer history: It was used to house troops during World War II — but with more than 15 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, it’s no wonder why.

That said, while its size may make this property sound like a steal, potential buyers are not bidding on the whole castle. Instead, they are purchasing portions of the castle, referred to as apartments.

(I know, I know. But there had to be a catch somewhere.)

More: This Game of Thrones Prequel Is Officially Happening, & It's Going to Focus On...

However, the apartments — with cool names like The Inner Bailey, The Great Hall, The Old Keep (not to be confused with The Red Keep in King’s Landing) and The Library Wing — are still sizable. Each unit has anywhere from three to five bedrooms. And since you are still going to be living in a castle, one with a rich literal and fictional history, the whole situation is really a win-win.

Guy Fieri & José Andrés Are Feeding People Affected by Northern California Fires

We'll be the first to admit that making fun of Guy Fieri is a great way to pass the time. But for all the easy jibes one can make about his hair, restaurants and personality, you've got to give the guy credit for his philanthropy.

Fieri, along with José Andrés, has been working with relief organizations in Northern California to help feed victims of and workers fighting the wildfires that are ravaging communities there.

More: Guy Fieri Is Getting a New Show, Because Apparently, the World Wants It

Operation BBQ Relief is where Fieri is focusing his energy — in the city of Redding, which is right next to the blazing Carr Fire. So far, six people have been killed in the fires and more than 800 structures have been damaged. Operation BBQ Relief is the same organization he worked with to help those affected by wildfires last year in Sonoma County.

Fieri has partnered with José Andrés, who is well known for his activism. Andrés spent more than a month in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria in 2017, serving more than 2 million meals to those affected by the storm.

Now, Andrés and his organization, World Central Kitchen, are working with the Red Cross, Salvation Army, the California Office of Emergency Services and Operation BBQ Relief to help distribute meal to the tens of thousands of people who've been displaced by the fires.

It's an admirable pursuit, and one that makes us feel a little more amiable toward the donkey sauce-slinging Fieri. So many celebs would just donate money, but seeing him actually go to the place where people are hurting to put a smile on their faces and do the actual hard work of getting them fed definitely tugs the heartstrings.

Barack Obama & Joe Biden Had Lunch Together, & Here’s What They Ate

In the past, we've lost our cool when we saw former President Barack Obama dining out with certified hottie Justin Trudeau (his other title? Prime minister of Canada), but nothing quite tugs the heartstrings like learning that Obama and former vice president-turned-ultra-BFF Joe Biden recently had lunch together. I hope they were wearing their friendship bracelets!

More: Barack Obama's Birthday Tweet to Joe Biden Is a Meme Come True

The meme-able duo shared a meal at Dog Tag Bakery in in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., yesterday. Once there, in true brothers-for-life fashion, they got the same sandwich: a ham and cheese with mustard. Not just any plain-Jane ham and cheese; this one is topped with Gruyère, served on shallot jam ciabatta and is actually topped with a mustard aioli.

Obama, ever health-conscious, also added a fennel salad to his order. Gotta get those veggies in or I'm sure Michelle Obama would have something to say.

Dog Tag Bakery isn't just your average restaurant. Their mission is to help service-disabled veterans, military spouses and caregivers get training and work experience as a civilian once their service has ended. When participants in the fellowship leave the program, they walk away with a certificate in business administration from Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies.

That means not only was Obama and Biden's lunch an adorable friendship hangout, it was also a way for them to support an essential service for military veterans.

Here's hoping that even though they're not working together in the spotlight any longer, we'll still get to see these pals hanging out for years to come. Anything for a little levity in Washington, am I right?

Who doesn’t love a bread bowl? They are airy, carby and crunchy and the perfect vessel for both soups and stews. But just when we thought the bread bowl couldn’t get any better, the universe went ahead and proved us wrong. Enter the Panera double bread bowl.

(Yes, double.)

More: The Cheesecake Factory's Delicious Brown Bread Is Hitting Grocery Stores

The bowl, which is crafted from a loaf of sourdough bread, will have two cutouts — ideal for sharing or for indulging your indecisive (and very hungry) whims. Customers can fill the bowls with soup, mac and cheese or — our personal favorite — soup and mac and cheese.

(Yum!)

That said, if all of this sounds too good to be true, hold on, because there is a catch: The double bread bowls are being test marketed — which means that for now, the DBB is only available at select Panera Bread locations in Philadelphia. According to CBS 3 — the Philadelphia CBS news affiliate — the double bread bowl will be at 32 Philadelphia cafés. The good news is that customers in the City of Brotherly Love can order the double bread bowl both in store and online. All you have to do is add an unsliced loaf of sourdough bread to your cart and then write, “make the sourdough a double bread bowl” in the special instructions.

The bowl, which ranges from $12 for two soups to $21 for two servings of mac and cheese, will be available from Aug. 5 through Aug. 31 and, if the bowls do well, Panera has stated that there’s a "potential nationwide launch in the future."

When You Shouldn't — & Should — Fake an Orgasm

$

Despite the fact that they feel so good, orgasms — or rather, the lack thereof — can be a major source of stress for people. Instead of waiting for one to happen organically, some people decide to fake them for a variety of reasons. But is that really fair to you or your partner? And is there ever a good time to fake an orgasm?

“Orgasm is the base of all female power,” Jenny Block writes in her book O Wow: Discovering Your Ultimate Orgasm. “Detach from it and we literally repress ourselves, our power, and our ability to rise. Connect to it and we are a force to be reckoned with, the likes of which no one has ever seen.”

According to the 2018 Skyn Condoms Millennial Sex Survey, although more participants who identified as women reported that they rarely or never fake orgasms, more women are likely to be fakers than men. In fact, the survey found that 63 percent of females report having faked an orgasm compared to 43 percent of males.

More: How to Talk to Your Partner About Having a Low Libido

Meanwhile, only 12 percent of females report faking orgasm “always” or “most of the time.” Interestingly, only 29 percent of those dating several people say they “never” fake an orgasm compared to 50 percent of those in committed relationships or married.

Why do people fake it?

We know people fake orgasms...but why

Kayla Lords, writer and sexpert for Jack and Jill can't think of any good reason to fake an orgasm. “It's much better to learn how to communicate your sexual needs so that you can have the orgasm you want,” she says.

Still, orgasms are not a given for everyone — even when they communicate with their partner.

“Orgasm isn’t easy or automatic. It isn’t something some people are good at and some people are bad at,” Block tells SheKnows. “Sure, some people might be born with some innate talent. But in general, it’s like everything else. You have to practice. You have to commit. You have to focus. And you have to put in the time. You’ll get better at it, and it will come easier. And it’ll be worth it.”

If you’re with a new partner, Block suggests starting the conversation from the top. “If you start with what’s real and true, then you never have to untangle and get out from whatever sexual lies you’ve woven,” she says. “That’s why faking is so damn dangerous. Once you fake it, you’ve said, ‘I like what you’re doing.’ If you have to retreat from that, it can make your partner feel very untrusting and unsafe.”

Block says she’s done herself a major disservice every time she’s faked the big O. Why? “Because I was basically telling my partner that what we did resulted in an orgasm, which implies that said acts bear repeating, when most often not, nothing could be farther from the truth,” she writes in her book.

More: The Problem With the "Best Sex Position for Female Orgasm" Articles

On the other hand, Jennifer Rahner of GeekySexyLove thinks we tend to be too orgasm-focused in our culture, perhaps because of porn's depiction of "the money shot" — a male coming or female squirting — which seems these days to end the action.

Instead, Block suggests taking the focus off the orgasm as the end-all, be-all, must-do. “Sex doesn’t always lead to orgasm, but it must always lead to pleasure, so, tell the truth every time,” she says. “That’s not always easy, I know. Especially when you have an eager beaver on your hands who is determined to make you come at all costs.”

She suggests reminding your partner that you get to decide what you want them to do to you, when and for how long. And if you’re done, you’re done, regardless of whether or not you’ve had an orgasm. And if you don’t need an orgasm to feel satisfied, that’s OK too.

“So, while it might seem like some sort of honorable, selfless act to fake orgasm or to forgo orgasm instead of asking for what you want or lending a hand, it’s actually an incredibly selfish act not to allow your partner the same pleasure they are granting you—the pleasure to please,” Block writes in her book.

Is faking an orgasm ever OK?

There are very few instances when faking an orgasm makes (kind of) sense. Sure, I get that sometimes you want to put an end to sex. Right. This. Minute.

It’s perfectly OK to tell a partner that you aren’t going to orgasm and wish to stop. And maybe you really, really want to make your partner happy, so you tilt back your head, let out a porntastic moan and pretend for the sake of your partner. If you’re fine with either of these scenarios, so be it, but ultimately, you’re giving your partner the false idea that they’re making you come.

“Why would you do that — to them and to yourself?” asks Rahner. “If you feel the urge to fake it with a partner, we strongly recommend you examine why that might be the case and make changes toward communicating better for truly shared intimacy.”

This all serves as a reminder that communication is key to all relationships. The more clear, simple and uncomplicated the better — for you, your partner and your orgasm.

The Mom's Guide to Seattle

Are you, like me, a parent who's really into coffee, seafood and Nirvana? Do you, like me, have a child who's really into... well, Nirvana at least? If yes, then why aren't you on a flight to Seattle already? If no, still get on that flight. Because even if you're not a rabid fan of the aforementioned great Emerald City trifecta, there is something for everyone in Washington state's chill, chic and rain-kissed capital. Are your kids into pizza? Check. Hiking and climbing? Check, check. Crazy science, interactive art, comics, markets, tours, doughnuts, gelato, flying fish? Seattle's got all of the above in spades.

But of course, in typical Mom Voyage fashion, we're not just chronicling the kid-specific sweets, snacks, superhero exhibits and adorable indie children's bookstores (although Seattle has amazing offerings in all those departments). We also want to ensure that you, dear traveling parent, have a trip filled with relaxation, adventure (the non-Disney kind) and probably also cocktails — if that's your thing. So rest assured that the recommendations ahead will leave you just as thrilled, educated and well fed as your kids — just a tad more caffeinated/inebriated.

Where to eat

Serious Pie Seattle Prosciutto Pizza

Let's start with the obvious: the seafood. Washington has some of the best, but you don't have to get all high-end-sushi about it. Your coastal cravings will be satisfied in the most simple — and seriously inexpensive — way at Red Mill Totem House in Seattle's Ballard Locks neighborhood. It may well be the best fast-food seafood hut on the planet; get the fish and chips or the Fishwich. You won't regret it.

Further inland and decidedly less fishy, Seattle's Serious Pie doesn't mess around. With two locations in the city (Virginia Street and Westlake Avenue) you have no excuse not to fit this stop into your day's touristing agenda. After all, is there any better multigenerational family travel peace offering than pizza? Or if you prefer Mexican, Cantina Leña has fantastic tacos, margarita slushies and more. Then stop by nearby Top Pot Doughnuts for dessert if you dare.

But if you really want to bring out the big (read: fancy) guns, Stoneburner is a must — for creative cocktails (the negroni, people!), small plates, greens and grains, superb pastas even kids have to love, and OMG, can we please talk about the fried mozzarella-filled Castelvetrano olives? Look. Just look at these.

Stoneburner Seattle Mozzerella-Filled Fried Castelvatrano Olives

And if you have any belly room left at all, mosey from Stoneburner to nearby family establishment D'Ambrosio Gelato for a frozen treat and an espresso — or, you know, both together. It's the true affogato ("drowned" in Italian, used to describe espresso poured over gelato) way.

D'Ambrosio Gelato Seattle Flavors

Where to play

Seattle, like most capital cities, has a ton of museums to offer. But this town doesn't stop at your run-of-the-mill art galleries and historical collections. Nay, Seattle's museum scene boasts MoPop, aka the Museum of Popular Culture, aka a pile of buildings that look like somebody's wacky metal laundry, which houses interactive exhibits on music, movies and more. I'll admit I went there for the Nirvana exhibit (Kurt Cobain's guitar, people!) but I ended up staying for hours, sucked into shows about superheroes (Marvel comics to be precise), horror film history, Jimi Hendrix's travels and more. It's a fantastic way to take in some kid-friendly culture (don't bring the tiny ones into the horror exhibit, though).

MoPop Seattle With Lines Out the Door for Opening of Marvel Exhibit

Right next to MoPop is the Pacific Science Center (where kids can get their fix of super-interactive exhibits plus an IMAX, a planetarium, the works) as well as the Chihuly Garden & Glass museum, a walk-through indoor-outdoor extravaganza that showcases Washington native Dale Chihuly's iconic blown-glass sculptures. Even kids who aren't usually thrilled by art will be enthralled by Chihuly's glowing colors and vibrant organic shapes. What makes this collection notable is its variety; meander through the museum halls and examine individual pieces up close, or head outside to the sculpture garden to take in the larger-than-life glass in alien floral shapes. There are also live glassblowing demos by local artists.

Dale Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle, with Space Needle

If you like your family travel activities with an emphasis on the active, set up some time at Stone Gardens' indoor rock-climbing gym. This place boasts some of the best (and most patient, bless them) climbing instructors I've ever encountered, and they offer lessons for all ages on bouldering and rappelling. Plus, the upstairs mini climbing wall caters to kids as young as 2. Because it's never too early to learn to scale sheer cliff faces, amirite?

Where to rest

Seattle is a wonderfully walkable city, for which this here New Yorker is so grateful. But for a trip that's also walkable for tots, you need a centrally located home away from home. And for that, you can't beat the Kimpton Alexis Hotel downtown. The Alexis is a great balance of no-fuss approachability (kids welcome); thoughtful design; fabulous service; and location, location, location. Plus its library-looking Bookstore Bar & Café serves a mean breakfast and a mean bourbon depending on the time of day — or hey, get them both simultaneously. Then, walk outside, and you'll be at Pike Place Market (more on that later) before you can say, "I wonder if they're throwing fish today."

Kimpton Alexis Hotel Seattle Breakfast at Bookstore Cafe

And speaking of great spots in walking distance of the Alexis: If you're a parent in need of just a little non-tot rest time (and lucky enough to have an adult travel buddy who can hold down the childcare fort), get thee to Ummelina Day Spa, stat. The words "urban oasis" sound cliché but they're really the best way to describe this understated, tucked-away quiet space in the middle of downtown Seattle. Try a massage, a private bath soak, a Vichy shower or all of the above — and head home with a healthy stash of Ummelina's handmade natural aromatherapy mists and lotions (even my 2-year-old loves the latter).

Where to shop

Your absolute best bet for a good ol' walk-and-shop with kids is to head back to Ballard (you know, where you ate all that fried fish). Hit up Sonic Boom Records for all the tunes you can dream of, classic indie kids gem Secret Garden Children's Bookstore, retro hubs Trove Vintage and Le Merde (boy, did the latter nearly talk me into a gorgeous leopard-print coat I absolutely did not need) and way, way more. And don't forget a pit stop at Anchored Ship Coffee Bar to refuel (pro tip: The café's cute upstairs nook has some highly Instagrammable wallpaper).

Child Wearing Hat, Sunglasses, and Yellow Shirt from Le Merde Seattle

Where to explore

We know, we know; it's super-obvious, but are you really going to go to Seattle and not climb the Space Needle? Just make sure to get tickets in advance and be prepared to wait in line regardless of said tickets. But hey, those views up top are pretty unbeatable (plus, they sell booze up there now, so...)

Seattle Skyline With Space Needle

For sightseeing without the lines, head to Hiram Chittenden Locks to wander the gardens, see the salmon ladder and scope out the boats doing their delicate dance from one side of the locks to the other. The nearby Nordic Museum, which just opened in 2018, celebrates Nordic (that's Scandinavia plus Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, BTW) cultures on both sides of the Atlantic. It boasts a surprisingly cool collection of old-school European artifacts (kids love all things Viking, right?) as well as modern art and video installations (notably the "birch forest" where you can take a break to lounge on squishy "rocks," which I would like every museum everywhere to install ASAP please).

Pike Place Market at night, Seattle

Of course, like the Space Needle, Pike Place Market is the epitome of a visit to Seattle and is not to be missed. If you have a bunch of kids in tow, it can be nice to just explore the market at your own speed, starting and stopping wherever. But if your posse is of a wrangle-able size (and/or older kids who can follow the leader), I highly suggest booking a Savor Seattle Food Tour to get a true inside look at (and taste of) the market. From cheese and chocolate to burgers and coffee to the famous flying fish, there's something for everyone at Pike Place — and there is no way in hell you're leaving hungry.

Greener than LA, calmer than San Francisco, grungier than Chicago and way more chill than New York, Seattle offers that rare and ideal combination of classy and casual that makes for the perfect multigen vacation. And hey, if you enjoyed your Seattle family trip with wee ones, you'd better plan a return when they're teenagers — and just as psyched about all that coffee as you are.

Chrissy Teigen Feels 'Super Insecure' About Her Post-Baby Body

Chrissy Teigen got up close and personal with her fans and her trolls alike on Monday when she posted a video (captioned "mom bod alert") of her stretch marks and mosquito bites. She and her husband, John Legend, are vacationing with their kids, Luna and baby Miles, in Bali.

In the video, in which she's wearing just bikini bottoms, Teigen pointed out her stretch marks on her lower back and thighs, narrating, "I guess these just aren't going to go away. This is my new body."

She also posted a mirror selfie of herself with Legend. And yes, she looks gorgeous. We know. But we also know that postpartum changes to your body can be very hard to process — even if you're Chrissy Teigen. Honestly, the reason we can't get enough of Teigen is that she's so damn open and irreverent when it comes to poking fun at herself (and society at large). Case in point:

Teigen edited her waist to nearly nothing and bootified her booty, then captioned the pic: "I have been training. to be an Instagram fitness model. this is after one bag of tea and 5 reps of 2 squats !!!! If I can do it so Can U!!!!"

She tweeted about Instagram creating unnatural expectations when it comes to body image:

“Instagram is crazy. I think it’s awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ol’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing,” she said.

In a separate tweet she wrote, “Also I don’t really call this 'body confidence' because I’m not quite there yet. I’m still super insecure. I’m just happy that I can make anyone else out there feel better about themselves!"

Lately, Teigen's been sharing photos of herself nursing Miles, 11 weeks (often in the nude, because, duh, Bali, people) on vacation.
