6 Expert-Recommended Cream Cleansers That’ll Let Your Summer Skin Breathe

Without fail, beauty experts encourage the use of lightweight products in the summer — us included. We’ve rounded up everything from jelly cleansers to tinted moisturizers that promise not to leave your skin feeling suffocated. But these kinds of products aren’t for everyone, especially when it comes to cleansing.

Even if we’ve forgone a full face of makeup, sometimes we want nothing more than a heavy-duty formula that really gets rid of the sweat and gunk on our face. Cream cleansers are typically more popular during the winter because of their heavier consistencies, but according to Dr. Susan Bard of Manhattan Dermatology Specialists, there are a select few that clogged pore-phobes can feel good about using this time of year.

Ahead, she shares her top picks for creamy yet lighter-weight formulas that get the job done.

Cream Cleanser for Summer Skin: Cerave Hydrating Facial Cleanser

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser

This drugstore favorite “contains three essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid to repair and moisturize dry and eczema-prone skin.” Ceramides are the lipids (fats) found in the most upper layers of the skin. Their job is to hold skin cells together and form a barrier that locks in moisture and protects against environmental stressors. They’re used in skin care ingredients despite already being inside our bodies because over time, their effectiveness diminishes, mostly because of our natural aging process.

CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser,  $13.29 at Amazon

Cream Cleanser for Summer Skin: La Roche Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser

Bard recommends this dual cleanser and makeup remover because it “contains glycerin to help prevent overdrying and antioxidant-rich thermal spring water to soothe dry, irritated skin.” Glycerin is a colorless humectant — meaning it attracts water — commonly used in beauty products because of its ability to gobble up moisture like a sponge and deliver it to the skin.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Dermo-Cleanser, $14.99 at Target

Cream Cleansers for Summer Skin: Noxzema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream

Noxzema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream

“Indeed a classic, one of the original cream cleansers contains soy to moisturize and eucalyptus to soothe,” says Bard. It’s also made with linseed oil, also known as flaxseed oil, which can be a huge help for those with skin conditions such as dermatitis and eczema.

Noxzema Classic Clean Moisturizing Cleansing Cream, $5.29 at Walgreens

Cream Cleansers for Summer Skin: PCA Skin Creamy Cleanser

PCA Skin Creamy Cleanser

Bard recommends this pricier option since it “contains antioxidants and aloe vera leaf extract to soothe the skin.” Those with dry skin will be happy to know it’s also made with yucca extract, which shows up as a lightweight foaming agent that won’t strip the skin of moisture.

Creamy Cleanser, $32 at PCA Skin

Cream Cleansers for Summer Skin: Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Creamy Hydrating Cleanser

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser

Free of added soap, parabens and dyes, this lightweight cream was formulated with sensitive skin types and those with conditions like rosacea and eczema in mind.

Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Hydrating Cleanser, $7.78 at Amazon

Cream Cleansers for Summer Skin: Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk

Clinique Take the Day Off Cleansing Milk

This cream-based makeup remover and cleanser is “residue free and contains glycerin and dimethicone to keep the skin moisturized as well as caffeine to help with puffiness.”

9 Vegetarian Protein Swaps to Use Instead of Meat

$

0

You want to accommodate your vegetarian friends without having to serve them nothing but sides or a boring salad at your cookout. But you also don’t want to make a whole dish that only one person will eat. What’s a party food maven to do?

Turns out you just need some mad meat-swap skills to create a dish your omnivorous (and carnivorous) guests will mow down just as happily as your very appreciative cruelty-free friends. So, what are these vegetarian-friendly meat substitutes? Luckily for you, we have nine recipes that feature protein swaps just ahead.

More: Skip the Meat With These 51 Vegetarian Recipes

1. Instead of chicken or pork, use jackfruit

jackfruit as a meat substitute

Yes, it's a fruit, but jackfruit holds up incredibly well in meat recipes. It can be sliced, diced or even fliced (OK, we meant shredded, but that didn't rhyme, so we decided to start a thing… #Fliced).

Because it's a fruit, it has a little sweetness, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you're going the barbecue route.

Try it with pulled BBQ sandwiches or use it in stir-fries, where the sauce can counter some of the fruit's natural sweetness.

2. Instead of steak, use portobello mushrooms

portobello mushrooms meat substitute

The large meaty caps of the portobello mushroom have just the resistant bite you're looking for when subbing for steak on skewers or for fajitas or just cooking it up alone like a steak. They don't taste exactly like steak, but don't be surprised if some of your non-veggie friends actually prefer them to the steak (or even alongside it).

Just marinate the mushrooms in a large sealable plastic bag in olive oil, salt, pepper and any herbs and spices you want for about an hour (or use a vegetarian-friendly steak marinade). Then grill or sauté them on high for five to seven minutes. You can stack them on a burger (try this portobello burger with smoked provolone and caramelized onions) or slice them up for fajitas. For skewers, put them on raw and cook them until the other veggies are done (you can't really overcook them).

3. Instead of ground beef or sausage, try beans, legumes or lentils

chickpea burger

Beans, legumes and lentils can be made into substitutes for ground beef or even sausage (by using traditional sausage seasonings). They also provide a good amount of protein and other good-for-you vitamins and minerals. Try a chickpea burger with coconut cabbage slaw or make black bean enchiladas or tacos for a casual get-together.

4. Instead of hot dogs, use carrots

carrot hot dog

Hear us out. I know it seems weird, but not only are they the perfect shape and texture, but with the right toppings, it's also absolutely ah-may-zing. Does it taste exactly like a hot dog? Nope. Will you or your vegetarian pal give AF? Not one bit. We love this idea for using lettuce instead of buns for the health conscious among you. (Pro tip: This is also a good way to get your kids to eat their veggies.)

5. Instead of steak or poultry, use cauliflower

cauliflower steak

You're not alone if you feel like cauliflower subs are overdone, but we're super-excited about these cauliflower steaks. Your veggie-head friend will get her vegan option and there will inevitably be smaller "steaks" for your meat-friendly friends to have a taste, too. And if you're hosting an event like Thanksgiving or Christmas (or just Sunday dinner), this spicy whole-roasted cauliflower acts as a main affair for your vegetarian BFF and a tasty side for everyone else.

6. Instead of chicken, use eggplant

eggplant parmesan

Eggplant has a pretty meaty texture, and while it may not be quite as meaty as some other things on this list, there are tons of entrée recipes that will satisfy everyone on your guest list, so there's no need to make two main dishes. Better yet, it's typically really easy for someone just beginning to experiment with cooking for vegetarian and vegan friends to jump right into. Try eggplant Parmesan, use it in place of meat in a stir-fry and more. You can even make an appetizer of eggplant chips everyone will enjoy if you want extra vegetarian-accommodation bonus points.

7. Instead of fish or chicken, use tofu

pistachio-crusted tofu

Tofu is a soy-based meat substitute that usually comes in a block. You can find it in the refrigerated vegetarian or health food section at your supermarket or in a specialty vegetarian or health food store. For a meat substitute, avoid the silken variety and go for the extra-firm, which has a firmer texture.

You'll need to drain off the excess fluid, then wrap it in a clean, dry kitchen towel. Place it on a cutting board over the sink to drain, then place a heavy-ish object like a dinner plate or cookbook on top and let it sit for 10 or 15 minutes. Then cut it or crumble it as the recipes calls for, marinate it for 15 or so minutes and cook it up according to the recipe. Remember, tofu doesn't have much flavor on its own, so the marinade is key. If you need some inspo, check out these 23 tofu recipes.

8. Instead of bacon or beef, use tempeh

tempeh bacon BLT sandwich

Tempeh is similar in many ways to tofu, but it's fermented, lending it more inherent flavor than its pale-colored counterpart. Its meatier texture makes it perfect to sub for ground beef in things like meatballs and burgers or DIY your own vegan bacon for burgers, BLTs, salads and more.

9. Instead of chicken, use seitan

seitan buffalo chicken wings

Seitan — also called wheat meat, wheat protein or wheat gluten — is a wheat-based (rather than soy, like tempeh and tofu) meat substitute that has such a meaty texture, you could probably fool your most carnivorous friends. Yes, you can use it in stir-fries, curries and tacos and pho. But we strongly suggest you go for the seitan Buffalo wings.

One last thing…

Just remember that vegan and vegetarian aren't the same, so while a vegetarian will gladly toss back a vegan treat with abandon, your vegan friend might have more restrictions, including cheese and other dairy products, eggs and more. So if you're a vegan food rookie, make sure you check in with them on the ingredients you're using first.

Carrie Underwood's Sweet Anniversary Post Is All About Her Journey With Mike Fisher

You know what they say: Time flies when you’re having fun. Judging by Carrie Underwood’s super-sweet wedding anniversary post to hubby Mike Fisher, this couple’s last eight years have been filled with lots of fun.

More: Carrie Underwood Crying Over Her Speeding Ticket Is All of Us

On Tuesday, Underwood took to Twitter to celebrate another year of marriage with her love, saying, “Here’s to 8 years, babe! Where does the time go?! I love you more today than yesterday… which was more than the day before… and so on and so forth. Here’s to many more years together! [Heart] you!”

Along with the message, Underwood shared a few snapshots of the couple looking, well, predictably adorable. (Do they ever not look adorable together?!)

Although the precious pair is commemorating eight years of marriage, they’ve actually been a couple for nearly a decade. In October 2008, her bassist, Mark Childers, played matchmaker and set up a backstage meeting during one of Underwood’s shows.

More: Carrie Underwood Is Publicly Shaming This Organization

According to E! News, Underwood texted Childers an enthusiastic response, messaging, "Hot, hot, hot!” Still, Underwood understood the realities of making it work with another celebrity — and particularly one who lived in another country at the time — wouldn’t be without its trials and tribulations.

Fast-forward to the present, and the precious pair is still going strong. “Everyone is getting divorced. They’re dropping like flies!” Underwood told Cosmopolitan in 2015. “But we are good. It helped that we were both established before we were married. Neither one of us could be like, ‘I didn’t know it would be like this!’”

And when those trials and tribulations have come along, Underwood and Fisher have faced them together.

Over the past year, the pair has famously been dealing with a scary spill Underwood took at their Nashville home in late 2017. She sustained several severe injuries during the fall, including a badly broken wrist and lacerations to her face — the latter of which required 40 to 50 stitches.

Earlier that same year, Fisher had announced his early retirement from the NHL, and Underwood stood by his side. But, always his biggest fan, she arguably cheered louder than anyone when he returned to the ice unexpectedly in 2018.

“There’s so much to love about her,” Fisher gushed to Behind the Music in 2012 of the couple’s rock-steady relationship. “She’s funny. She’s very caring. She loves me with everything she’s got — and I do the same for her.”

For better or worse, through sickness and in health… sound familiar? We’d say that eight years in, Underwood and Fisher are certainly living up to their marriage vows.

The Handmaid's Tale Wine Hit With Social Media Backlash & Is Quickly Canceled

The Golden Globe and Emmy award-winning Hulu original, The Handmaid's Tale, struck all the right chords with its latest season, hitting almost too close to home at times. And while the riveting season two finale that recently aired has earned praise, the show's marketing efforts was hit with swift backlash after attempting to release a collection of wines celebrating its female characters. You know, the same female characters from Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel who are forced into sexual servitude.

And that leads us to...

Wine? Really? Wine?!

More: The Best & Most Affordable Rosés to Sip This Summer

Wine retailer Lot18 and MGM teamed up to release three Handmaid's Tale varietals yesterday, two reds (for characters Offred and Ofglen, played by Elisabeth Moss and Alexis Bledel, respectively) and one white (for character Serena Joy, played by Yvonne Strahovski).

And here's how they were described — before they were very quickly canceled by Lot18 and MGM literally hours after the release announcement:

Offred 'The Handmaid's Tale' wine

Offred's 2017 Pays d'Oc Pinot Noir is "rich and complex. Lush, fruit flavors of cherry and cassis are complemented by earthy flavors of mushroom and forest floor. We honor Offred with a wine that will stay with you long after you've finished your glass and a powerful experience you will never forget."

Ofglen 'The Handmaid's Tale' wine

Ofglen's 2017 Rogue Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is "a daring testament to the heights that Oregon Cabs can reach, featuring concentrated flavors of cherry, plum and coffee bean that give way to a warm, spicy finish."

Serena Joy 'The Handmaid's Tale' wine

Serena Joy's 2016 Bordeaux Blanc is "sophisticated, traditional and austere… While the wine may initially come off as restrained, a few sips reveal it to be hiding layers of approachable white grapefruit and lemongrass, backed by weight and concentration."

Cue the merited social media backlash, slamming the wines as tone-deaf:

Lo Bosworth Loves This Soup With One Surprising Ingredient: Bird Saliva

If there’s one thing every millennial knows to be true it’s that the best show to ever grace our television screens was none other than The Hills. And while we loved watching the drama go down between Heidi and Lauren, there was one star that everybody wished they could call their very own BFF: Lo Bosworth.

We recently had the opportunity to chat with Lo and not only did she let us peek inside her fridge, she also dropped some pretty juicy details about her favorite and least favorite foods.

SheKnows: Tell us a little bit about what’s in your fridge.

Lo Bosworth: I mostly stick to fresh fruit and vegetables for my fridge. I try not to buy junk food because I’ll eat it all if it’s in my house. I love the farmers market, so I always try to bring home seasonal finds — anything from fresh produce to local organic eggs, and I sometimes even pick up a CSA box.

SK: What about your freezer?

LB: I like to keep tortilla chips in my freezer oddly enough. It keeps them fresh forever.

SK: Are there any items that you always make sure to keep in stock?

LB: Yes. I love this coconut-almond tea by Paromi. I have it almost every morning.

SK: What’s your go-to healthy snack?

LB: I like to have a little sampler plate of different things. Right now, I love almonds with tart blueberries and a slice of mozzarella cheese.

SK: Can you give us an example of one of your favorite weeknight meals?

LB: Yes. I love making homemade chicken and vegetable soup. I tend to make the chicken broth from scratch so the flavor of the soup is really rich. If you have great stock on hand, you can put together a really yummy soup in as little as 30 minutes!

More: A Look Inside Paige Davis' Fridge

SK: What would you consider the ultimate comfort food?

LB: My mom’s macaroni and cheese.

SK: Any foods you absolutely can’t stand?

LB: Canned tuna.

SK: Which country’s cuisine is your favorite and why?

LB: I love Italian food — everything is fresh, bright and makes you feel alive!

SK: If you could only use one small kitchen appliance (microwave, blender, slow cooker, etc.) for an entire month, which one would you choose?

LB: Slow cooker. I prefer a hot meal, and being able to combine everything and leave it all day to develop amazing flavor and depth is something that really appeals to me.

SK: What’s the strangest food you have ever eaten?

LB: Bird's nest soup in Singapore. It’s made from bird spit, and it actually wasn’t that bad!

SK: Would you eat it again?

LB: Sure!

SK: What’s your favorite go-to appetizer for a big crowd?

LB: This is a throwback to my childhood, but always love some potato chips with onion dip.

SK: What’s your favorite summer cocktail?

LB: My favorite summer cocktail right now is a Baileys Almande piña colada. With Baileys Almande, you get to have those fun over-the-top drinks and desserts, but you’re indulging with a light-tasting gluten- and dairy-free treat. I'll give you the recipe!

SK: We recently chatted with your friend Whitney Port, and she told us she has never eaten pasta. We were pretty shocked. Do you have any fun food confessions?

LB: I despise peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I like peanut butter. I like jelly. I hate them together.

More: Whitney Port Has Never Eaten Pasta — No, We're Not Kidding

As promised, here is Bosworth's recipe for a dairy-free piña colada.

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 ounces chilled Baileys Almande
  • 3 ounces chilled almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 frozen banana
  • Fresh pineapple wedge for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the chilled Baileys Almande, chilled almond milk, frozen pineapple and the frozen banana until smooth.
  2. Pour the drink into a Collins glass and garnish it with the wedge of fresh pineapple.

Remember When IHOP Changed Their Name to 'IHOb'? They Lied

Updated June 11, 11:45 a.m. ET: Back in June, IHOP caused quite an uproar when they mysteriously changed their name from IHOP to 'IHOb' on social media. Pancake fans were confused, but not for long. Just a few days later, we learned that the new B stood for burgers, and the name change was used to announce that IHOP would now be serving up a new line of steak burgers.

Well, according to IHOP's most recent tweet, the name switch was never the real deal.

That's right. IHOP totally pulled a fast one on us. The good news is they are still serving pancakes, burgers and are even offering up a pretty sweet deal on pancakes to celebrate the chain's 60th anniversary. On July 17 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., you can get a short stack of pancakes for just 60 cents. It's a nice start, IHOP, but you may have to go a bit further to get us to forgive you for this one.

Original story, published June 11, 2018: Last week, IHOP teased us all on Twitter when they hinted that big changes were coming by revealing they were changing their name.

Well, now we know what the name flip was all about. After spending decades as the undisputed king of pancake breakfasts, IHOP has now become IHOb — and is all about the burgers.

Don’t worry, pancakes are still very much on the menu, but the name change comes as IHOP (er, IHOb) reveals a new steak burger lineup that includes Big Brunch, Cowboy BBQ, Mushroom Swiss, Jalapeño Kick, Classic, Classic with Bacon and the Mega Monster.

More: Starbucks Is Raising Coffee Prices Again

All these new burgers begin with a base of 100 percent USDA choice Black Angus ground beef that's been smashed on a grill and is served on a brioche bun.

More: Copycat IHOP Grain 'N Nut pancakes let you enjoy your favorite stack at home

"Burgers are a quintessential, American menu item so it makes perfect sense that IHOP, one of the most iconic, all-American comfort-food brands in the world, would go over the top to create a delicious line-up of quality burgers that hit the spot any time of day," said chef Nevielle Panthaky, head of culinary at IHOb, in a press release.

"With seven different burger builds, all Steakburgers are custom built and piled high with premium quality ingredients and unique, signature sauces in between a buttered and grilled Brioche bun. There's definitely a juicy Steakburger for whatever you might be craving at any time of day! The IHOP Culinary team took the creation of these Steakburgers as seriously as we take innovation around our pancakes, which means they're soon to become world famous, too."

It feels weird that our favorite breakfast spot is now competing with steak houses and burger joints, but hey, as long as we aren't losing our giant stacks of pancakes, make all the burgers you want, IHOb.

It’s only been a month since Jared Haibon popped the question to fellow Bachelor in Paradise alum Ashley Iaconetti in June, but that hasn't stopped the future bride from making post-wedding plans. Can you guess what’s No. 1 on her list after saying I do to her Bachelorette beau?

More: Jared Haibon Proposed to Ashley Iaconetti in the Best Way

In an interview with People, the TV couple opened up about their plans following the wedding. For Iaconetti, she "just knows that [she] want[s] to start trying to have kids at 32," which means she only has two years to get this plan in motion.

To this, Haibon added: "We’re engaged now, so we’ll get to the wedding and then maybe pop out a couple kids!"

Iaconetti and Haibon have big plans for their wedding. “We want Tanner [Tolbert] to officiate the wedding,” revealed Haibon. “Tanner and Jade have been the couple that we were the closest to within the Bachelor family. Tanner’s been so intricate in our relationship the past couple years.”

So when will this wedding — and the subsequent beautiful offspring — transpire? The couple isn’t in a huge rush to make it to the altar. “About a year would be a nice time. We’re both definitely on par with a bigger wedding. We’ve always imagined that,” Iaconetti told People.

Despite their rocky history, the newly minted couple left Bachelor Nation thrilled beyond belief after they arrived on set to film the next season of Bachelor in Paradise. In the first days of filming, Haibon was determined to return to Paradise to “make it right” by taking their relationship from smitten lovebirds to fiancés. Accordingly, while filming the upcoming fifth season, the former Bachelorette contestant got down on one knee and asked Iaconetti to be his wife

Why I'm So Addicted to Shark Tank

ABC’s show Shark Tank is underappreciated by television viewers. That might sound like a bold statement, but it’s a show that draws you in with one simple hook: believing in a product, believing in a dream.

More: 12 Shark Tank Items You Can Buy on Amazon

Entrepreneurs are trying to pitch their bright ideas, but that’s the outward appearance of what is happening on the show. Shark Tank makes us believe that the American dream is still attainable in 2018, despite all of the negative headlines.

Not every product is a winner with the Sharks, but some products still resonate with viewers and become successes all on their own. People come to the show from all walks of life to fund their businesses, and it’s fascinating to see their creativity. Although we aren’t motivated to appear on Shark Tank anytime soon, we are inspired by the show and it's giving us some solid life advice.

Here’s why you should be watching Shark Tank too.

The easy sell

There’s nothing better than eating a cupcake after a celebratory day or a sad day. Wicked Good Cupcakes came on the show in April 2013 and wowed the snarkiest Shark of them all, Kevin O'Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful. Anyone can make a decent cupcake and sell it, but Wicked Good Cupcakes sells them out of mason jars. You can eat them with a spoon, and they are easy to ship.

Shark Tank took this easy-to-sell product and made it easy to buy. Mother-daughter owners Tracey Noonan and Danielle Vilagie took their company from $150,000 in sales to $10 million in sales by 2016 with over 30 employees. One simple idea just needed a big boost from a Shark. It makes you wish you had come up with a wicked good anything.

More: Kym Johnson Herjavec & Robert Herjavec Share Pic — & Names — of Newborn Twins

Getting a no

It may seem like the end of the world when none of the Sharks are willing to invest in your company, but a no doesn't necessarily mean they hate your product. Shark Barbara Corcoran advised owners Becky App and Abby Jordan "to keep doing what you're doing" with their online ice cream sales company, eCreamery. She thought they were on the right track and could do it on their own.

It turns out Corcoran was right, and the duo wound up discovering that sometimes a win is disguised as a loss. Their appearance on Shark Tank created a huge demand for their ice cream. They hired new chefs, opened a customer service call center and funded a production facility.

"We are now swimming in orders instead of swimming with the sharks," App said.

It's proof that we don't always have to run to Oprah Winfrey for advice. Sometimes we just need a good dose of Shark Tank.

Sometimes you bomb

Cheek'd, an online dating service — but in reverse — totally bombed on Shark Tank. The idea was to give a Cheek'd business card to a potential suitor you met in person. Instead of handing out your personal information, the suitor goes and views your Cheek'd profile. In theory, it sounds like a great idea, but Tinder, Match and Bumble are all doing just fine, thank you.

In fact, Mark Cuban eviscerated Cheek'd owner Lori Cheek on the air: “I have a rule. When people come in who are delusional, I have to say I’m out. I’m out.”

That didn't stop Cheek from persisting in her mission to make her business a success. She stuck by the old mantra that no press is bad press, and she took her criticism like a champ.

“If you’re resilient enough, can handle criticism and can spin failure, appearing on the Shark Tank can be life-altering in the most amazing way," she told CreditSesame.com in 2016.

Cheek made a lot of lemonade out of lemons from her experience. She managed to raise the money on her own and hired a chief technology officer, and the app is still going strong in 2018.

Sometimes we just shake our heads

The Switch Witch is designed to be the Elf on the Shelf, but for Halloween. The Switch Witch is a plush doll with a book about a witch who visits on Halloween and takes children's candy. In exchange for the candy, she leaves a non-edible gift behind.

Well, the shamers came out in full force because they think parents should be able to monitor what their kids eat. The Sharks didn't love it because they felt the product only had a 24-hour window to be enjoyed. The inventors, Rob Bouley and his sister-in-law Lara Riley, originally created the idea because of a young family member with a food allergy.

They didn't make a deal and the Switch Witch isn't a must-have toy for Halloween, but we definitely have to hand it to Bouley and Riley for persevering despite all of the negativity. Sometimes a passion project requires only a few passionate people to believe in you and your project — and that's the beauty of the American dream.

Shark Tank will be moving from Friday to Sunday at 9/8c in the fall. Are you going to watch?

We’ve Got New Details About Gwyneth Paltrow’s Upcoming Wedding

The rumors around Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow's upcoming nuptials to sweetheart Brad Falchuk are piling up — and some new ones have emerged that we need to talk about. We know that Paltrow will be tying the knot with Falchuk this fall at her Hamptons home, but that isn’t the important detail we're talking about. No, this new detail has to do with the number of guests that will reportedly be in attendance.

According to Us Weekly, the ceremony will be “small and personal,” with just 15 to 20 guests. We can’t possibly imagine how Paltrow will cull her guest list, but we’re hoping that longtime friends of Paltrow's (and one of our favorite power couples) Beyoncé and Jay-Z will make the cut.

Despite being so small and intimate, the ceremony will incorporate traditional touches, says Us Weekly’s source. Apple and Moses, Paltrow’s children with ex-husband Chris Martin, as well as Isabella and Brody, Falchuk’s kids with his ex, will all “have a part in the ceremony.”

That blended brood along with Paltrow’s acting career and her growing Goop empire mean this bride-to-be has a full plate. However, she’s not stressing over any of it. Rather, she’s “really just happy to be marrying Brad.”

More: Why Gwyneth Paltrow Doesn't Feel Like Divorce Is a Failure

Plus, she reportedly made a strategic decision early on in order to minimize wedding woes. “Gwyneth is letting her wedding planner run with it. She knows that she gets her. She just wants to show up and know it will be perfect,” the insider told Us.

Although no one in Paltrow’s camp has officially revealed a wedding date yet, the happy couple has kept the press on its toes since April — when throngs of high-profile celebrities (to the tune of over 400) were spotted exiting what was presumed to be Paltrow and Falchuk’s engagement party at downtown LA’s Los Angeles Theatre.

Some outlets even speculated that the evening was a surprise wedding ceremony, as it followed Paltrow’s bachelorette party so closely.

More: Gwyneth Paltrow's Engagement Party Was So Formal & Fancy

Aside from confirming her excitement to become Mrs. Brad Falchuk, Paltrow has remained pretty tight-lipped where details are concerned. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in January, she did offer the slightest sneak peek into what her nuptials could entail. “I think I’m [too] old to have a big wedding and a big [old] white dress and all that. I gotta dial it back,” she said.

As for whether we’ll be seeing photos of Paltrow and Falchuk’s big day whenever it does officially arrive, the jury’s still out. “I don’t know if I’ll share it or not,” she told E! News in June. “I think it’s always a fine line of having something that is just yours but also being celebratory so we’ll see.”

Emerging STI Could Be Next Superbug & May Result in Infertility in Women

We already know that the rates of HPV among sexually active adults is pretty high and that a new untreatable supergonorrhea is on the rise, but in addition to that, the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV has given us another STI to worry about: mycoplasma genitalium.

Although the MG bacterium was first isolated in 1981, according to the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV, it could be the next superbug — especially since little is known about the condition. The organization recently released their draft guidelines on MG, which they hope will raise awareness of the STI and it's effects.

What is it?

MG is a sexually transmitted bacterium that can cause inflammation of the urethra of a penis, resulting in discharge, according to the association. If someone with a vagina contracts it, it can cause inflammation of the uterus and fallopian tubes as well as pain, fever and bleeding. Additionally, it may cause infertility in people with a uterus.

More: Untreatable "Supergonorrhea" Spreading Through Oral Sex

The symptoms of MG are painful urination and discharge from the penis and bleeding after sex for people with a vagina, but what makes this STI especially tricky is that the majority of cases don't have any symptoms at all. And in cases when there are symptoms, MG can be misdiagnosed as another STI, like chlamydia. It can also exist alongside other STIs, so even if someone is being treated for one, it doesn't mean they don't have MG.

Because MG is a lesser-known STI, it's not always included in routine STI testing, so you may have to request it. Another option is myLAB Box, which offers an at-home MG test.

Like many STIs, using a condom can help prevent the spread of MG.

Why now?

The treatment for MG is typically antibiotics — although, like some strains of gonorrhea, sometimes it's antibiotic-resistant. According to the British association, it is getting harder to get rid of MG using antibiotics; they're only effective in about 40 percent of the cases of the STI in the U.K.

More: So, There May Be a Link Between Bikini Waxing & STIs

"These new guidelines have been developed because we can't afford to continue with the approach we have followed for the past 15 years, as this will undoubtedly lead to a public health emergency with the emergence of MG as a superbug," Dr. Paddy Horner, one of the coauthors of the guidelines, told the BBC

According to Horner, "resources are urgently needed to ensure that diagnostic and antimicrobial resistance testing is available for women with the condition who are at high risk of infertility."

Just in case you were looking for another reason to pack the condoms on your summer trip, you now have one.

Here's How to Have a Fulfilling Sex Life After Having Kids

$

There's nothing that can bring your libido to a screeching halt like having a child. But it's not just about recovering from childbirth and feeling like your body doesn't belong to you anymore. You are spread thinner, running on less sleep and spending a lot of your waking hours trying to figure out how to keep your life in order while you are carrying around a child.

I had three children, and with each one, I noticed that I felt less sexual. When I would recover from the newborn stage and start getting a bit more sleep, they started toddling around, and there’s literally no rest as you’re trying to keep your child alive. I had zero energy and no desire to be touched and meet another person's needs at the end of the day.

But sex is a very important part of a partnership, and most couples still want to have sex with each other; they just don't know how to make it happen with all the sleepless nights, feedings and diaper changes.

More: How Infertility & Trying to Conceive Changes Sex

Though it may feel like you'll never get your sex drive back, you probably will, and there are ways to help it along. We spoke with experts who had some great tips on how to keep a fulfilling sex life, even after kids.

Don't think your new sex life isn't normal

Alice Wood, sex and relationship coach, has dealt with many couples who struggle with this. And while they have an excellent relationship and feel very connected, after having a child, they wonder what has happened and struggle to find a sense of normalcy.

The first thing, Wood tells SheKnows, is to realize this is very normal. Having a child is a huge life-changing event, and the absence of sex is "a regular stage that most couples go through," she says. There's no need to blame anyone for the lack of sex happening. Accept this may be how it is for a spell.

Don't assume your partner doesn't find you attractive anymore

Yes, your body has changed; you have stretch marks and maybe some extra baby weight, but it doesn't change who you are. Wood says it's important to remember you are still sexy and desirable and "your partner is probably a lot less harsh on your body than you are."

How we feel about our bodies can affect how sexual we feel, but don't jump to conclusions and deem yourself undesirable. You are still just as beautiful and sexy as you were before having a child. In fact, I've heard many people say their partners are even sexier after becoming a mother.

Talk, talk, talk

You can't move on and get out the slump if you aren't communicating, Wood says. "Make time to discuss your relationship and find out your partner's view of your intimate life," she advises. It's important to have an open dialogue about your sex life without judging — listen to how your partner is feeling. "You are a kingdom of two. There's no space for secrets," Wood adds.

Never shame your partner for not being in the mood or talk about how they used to be so ready for sex all the time. This makes them feel shameful and will not help you out in the bedroom whatsoever.

Schedule some sex, but keep spontaneity alive

Scheduling sex is a must after kids. It doesn't have to be boring — it can be exciting as you anticipate it throughout the day and send each other sexy texts. But Wood says it's important to leave room to be spontaneous too. There is something that keeps the magic alive if you jump in the shower with your partner for a quickie if your kids are sleeping.

More: Why You May Want to Consider Scheduling Sex

Scheduling sex is extremely important because time is going to pass just as quickly after kids as it did before, and you must "prioritize your relationship and sex life by being deliberate with your time," Erika Miley, a licensed mental and sexual health therapist, tells SheKnows. Don't think of it as being boring — think of scheduled sex as a necessity.

Try something new

Miley says just because we have kids doesn't mean we don't like trying new things in the bedroom. We should constantly try and add something new, even it's a small gesture. "Our brains love when we see, experience or create something new," she says. It may take a bit more work, but the reward for both people will be worth it.

Sex can become a huge deal in a relationship if you aren't having it. It's important to talk about it and not to fall into a destructive routine in which both people are feeling misunderstood. Relationships involve two people and both must be willing to put in the extra effort.

The Real Reason Neve Campbell Left Hollywood For a While

In the ‘90s and early 2000s, Neve Campbell was the “it girl” onscreen. The Craft, Wild Things, Party of Five, the Scream franchise — every role she touched turned into a cult classic. And then, for a while, she was essentially MIA. So when Campbell visited The Late Show on Tuesday night, host Stephen Colbert couldn’t resist asking the question on everyone’s mind: what gives?

“You went to London. Why don’t you like us, Neve Campbell? Why did you leave America?” Colbert playfully prodded. To which Campbell responded honestly (and with a laugh), “I just needed a minute. It was a long minute. It was a good minute.”

More: The Rock Reveals His Struggle With Depression

The actress, who was born and raised in Ontario, went on to explain that the whole Hollywood scene became overwhelming. “I just didn’t know American pop culture at all. And then suddenly I became an actor and suddenly these things were happening to me,” she confessed.

Those things hilariously entailed being tapped to host SNL in 1997 at the pinnacle of her popularity — and having no clue who musician David Bowie was when she learned he’d be cameo’ing in the episode.

While Campbell kept plugging along in her acting career and picking up steady work, she realized around 2008 that she needed to shake things up.

More: 16 Summer Movies We're Most Excited About

“In my twenties, it all hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming — wonderful, obviously, and I’m very grateful for it,” she told Colbert. “But it got to a level also where the kinds of things that I was being offered were not the kinds of things I want to do.”

That includes constantly being sent scripts for horror films, thanks to her Scream fame. Or the occasional bad romantic comedy.

But Campbell wanted something different for her life. “I just wasn’t interested in the scripts and I was feeling a bit unhappy with the things that were coming to me. And I was feeling a little bored with the whole thing. I thought, ‘I want a change.’ So, I moved to London,” Cambell explained matter-of-factly.

Living abroad was just the ticket, too. Campbell appreciated the total non-issue her career turned out to be in the U.K. “I was completely anonymous there. It’s just very different there. I literally did not get bothered once!” she said. Happily, that time away gave Campbell the ability the respite she needed to eventually return to Hollywood with a renewed passion for acting.

Her appearance on The Late Show served to promote her new blockbuster Skyscraper. Co-starring Dwayne Johnson, the film hits theaters this Friday.

Welcome back, Campbell. We all missed you.

Forget Rubber Ducky — These Make Bath Time Lots of Fun

Bath time can be a hassle. After a long day, dragging a fussy kid into a bath can seem impossible. But it doesn't have to be. If you play your cards right, bath time can be the best part of your day — a time when everyone takes a collective breather in a calming transition to bedtime.

Sure, some kids hate the bath. Some kids will scream right from the moment they're first lowered into the tub as a baby and continue well into toddlerhood when they're big enough to make a run for it (naked and trailing water all over the house). But chances are it's not bath time per se that they hate. More often than not, it's something in particular that bothers them: the temperature of the water, the way it feels when water gets in their eyes or bath time boredom because they're not engaged. But no more: Here are some tips and tricks to make bath time great again, including some nifty gear that can make all the difference.

Set the mood

Bright lights and loud noises will attract a higher energy level than you might want for bath time (study after study from places like the Journal of Neuroscience and Harvard, respectively, has shown that lights emitted by electronic devices and such will keep you up), so use dimmer lighting and even ambient sound/music to help set the mood for a more relaxing time in the tub. Use a bath wash that has a calming essential oil such as lavender or chamomile in it, and take your time giving your child a soothing wash. Use a softer tone in your voice to indicate that this time is good for letting go of the day and getting ready for bed. You can even do deep breathing together; three deep breaths does wonders to relieve stress according to a Stanford University study led by biochemistry professor Dr. Mark Krasnow (perhaps more for you than your kid).

Safety first

Never turn your back on kiddo in the tub, and certainly don’t leave the room for any reason, even if your child is a older. Kids can drown in just a few inches of water according to Dr. Nina Shapiro and a study published in the journal Pediatrics, and you don’t want to take any chances. Line the tub with a mat that has grips on it to minimize slippage, and cover the spout with something fun to both entertain and protect your kid’s head from injury should a slip occur. If you share a bathroom with your kids, be sure to remove all razors and other dangerous items from the tub or bathroom. Take basic babyproofing precautions, such as locks on your cabinets if they contain cleaning products or other potentially toxic items (yes, hair spray counts).

Get the right gear

hooded bath towel What bath supplies and accessories you have could make the difference between a happy bath and one filled with tears. Use organic and tear-free bodywash and shampoo, and opt for a soft washcloth. A big, soft, cozy towel with a hood is a good way to get kids excited about leaving the tub, especially in winter. Novel gear that we don’t often think of (like this nifty visor thing that goes on your kid’s head to prevent water from getting in their eyes and face when you rinse the shampoo out) can be a lifesaver.

Bring the best toys

bath buckets

We all know babies and kids have relatively short attention spans. One toy in the tub may not cut it, and no toy at all is just asking for trouble. But you don’t have to get extravagant with your bath toys; there’s no need for fancy motorized scuba divers or elaborate water-friendly letters that you’ll be cleaning up 'til the cows come home. Your kid is likely to be perfectly content with a couple of paper cups. If you want an upgrade, check out something like these cool cups from Skip Hop. They have different-size and -shape holes in the bottom, and water comes out in varying patterns. Our little guy has enjoyed these from infanthood well into toddler life without fail.

Sprinkle in some love

Take advantage of that quiet bath time with no other distractions; after all, it's an opportunity to teach your kid something or tell a story. Engage with them. If they’re younger, use the time to learn new words, pointing out the toys and objects in and around the tub. If they’re older, it's a great time to talk about how their day was or what might be bothering them or on their mind that they weren't ready to share at the dinner table with others present. Draw some hearts with these nifty bath crayons (recommended for kids who are old enough to know not to color on non-bath walls with them). And don't forget: Babies and kids alike love singing, so go wild. Whose voice doesn’t sound just a little bit better in the tub?

A New Report Shares the Reality of Coming Out With a Disability in the Workplace

By AnnaMarie Houlis

A new research report from Working Mother Research Institute suggests that people with autism, mental health and cognitive disabilities be open about who they are and what they need. As it turns out, being upfront won’t necessarily cost someone their job. In fact, the payoffs are significant for both employees and their employers.

More: I Face Ableism in the Workplace, & Here's What I Wish My Company Did Differently

“The work experience — from the application/interview process through onboarding and then to successfully handling a job and being promoted — is very different for people with non-apparent disabilities,” reads the report, titled “Uncovering Hidden Potential: Non-Apparent Disabilities in the Workplace.” “Recruiters, hiring managers, supervisors and co-workers are often prepared when an employee with obvious disabilities is considered or hired. However, when the employee has a non-apparent disability, the visual cues of disability are not obvious and, therefore, the employer may not be sensitive to the need for accommodations. The applicant/employee may choose not to disclose a non-apparent disability for a variety of reasons, and the resulting communications gap can lead to negative perceptions for both the employer and the applicant/employee.”

The report surveyed 1,604 working people with the aforementioned disabilities through an online questionnaire administered by Bonnier Custom Insights. It found that most participants reported multiple disabilities, and employees who disclosed them (53 percent) were more satisfied and engaged at work than those who didn’t disclose them (47 percent).

The main reason employees didn’t disclose their disabilities was because they don’t believe their disabilities interfere with their jobs, so mentioning them isn’t worth it. Because of that, 30 percent were uncomfortable sharing the information, 11 percent didn’t want their employers to know, and another 11 percent said their employer didn’t ask so they didn’t feel it necessary to bring up.

While 87 percent of the people surveyed are at risk of leaving their employer, the report suggests that effective communication between the employee and employer could change the game. While employers seem to be providing better accommodation to employees with disabilities than they once did, increased communication can only help the process. Of those who did disclose their disabilities, 75 percent requested accommodations and 88 percent of those had all or some of their requests approved.

But that’s not all — on top of approving requests, companies may want to consider communicating those approvals company wide.

More: 4 Companies That Excel at Hiring Disabled Workers

“Even when an employee discloses a disability to HR or a supervisor, in a culture where people are uncomfortable discussing disabilities, co-workers may erroneously perceive someone getting ‘special treatment’ because the reason for the accommodation is not obvious or apparent,” the report reads. “That too can create a stressful and an unproductive work environment… The unique experience of these employees in the workplace needs to be understood and defined so that employers can create successful employee value propositions and inclusive environments in which they can thrive.”

And on top of providing better accommodations so employees with disabilities can thrive, the largest noted influence on overall employee satisfaction was having a role model with disabilities in their organization.

But in order to accommodate employees with disabilities and give them role models, companies need to hire more employees with disabilities — and this hiring process may look different.

Kearon of Autism Speaks noted in the report that some interviewers are revamping their process for candidates with autism, for example.

“Because of the nature of their disability, these candidates have difficulty communicating,” she explains. “These employers were willing to throw [the normal process] out the window and try something new. These alternate assessments allow the employers to hire, for example, better software developers not by conversational interviews but by giving them tasks to perform.”

More: 5 Incredibly Inspirational People Who Prove Hard Work Pays Off

People with autism offered specific input about the hiring process, as well. Sixty-five percent say they “would have liked the opportunity to show their skills through a different kind of assessment instead of a traditional interview.”

As companies look to acquire and retain talent with all different skills and perspectives and as more companies hire disabled workers, they should think about how their hiring processes and office cultures affect all different types of candidates and employees.

Everything You Can Expect to See in The Handmaid's Tale Season 3

The Handmaid's Tale season two may have just ended, but we already have some insights into season three. Thank goodness too, because the wait for the next season is going to be brutal, especially after that amazing season two finale.

WARNING: Do not continue reading unless you want to delve into all the juicy spoilers from The Handmaid's Tale season two finale.

So, June opted to stay in Gilead and save Hannah rather than escape with her newborn daughter, Nicole, and fellow handmaid, Emily. I mean, how many almost escape attempts is one girl gonna get in this series before we stop wanting her to actually escape?

We might have reached that tipping point, because season three is reportedly introducing a whole new level of June. She's battle ready, and Gilead had better watch out.

Praise be.

Here's what you can expect in The Handmaid's Tale season three.

More: The Handmaid's Tale Season 2 Trailer Is Here & It's Lit

1. The return of hot Hawaii man

In season two, episode nine, we met Mark Tuello, an American diplomat in Canada working on behalf of the United States. Yes, the United States still exists; it's just fractured thanks to Gilead's takeover.

Mark enters the series by offering Serena a way out of Gilead. He even fills us in on the delightful little tidbit of information that the fertility crisis may not be a problem with women, but rather the infertility might be stemming from men. He offers this to Serena as a bargaining chip that if she were to escape Gilead, she might be able to bear a child of her own.

Serena refuses his offer, but there is no way we've seen the last of good old Mark. My guess is he will play a substantial role in season three. He might even be a love interest for Serena.

2. The end of Serena & Fred

Going right along with No. 1, Serena and Fred's marriage has been over in spirit for a while. And while I don't really think Gilead is down with divorce, it might be time for Serena to break free of her bonds. At the end of season two, she was definitely in mourning after her husband had her pinky finger cut off because she dared to read from the Bible. Yes, Serena is definitely hurting right now, but there is no way she's broken. Will she begin fighting for women, or will she fight for the daughter she lost?

3. June will take Fred up on his offer

June is in it to save Hannah at this point in the series, and Fred offers her the best access to her daughter. For that reason, it seems likely that June will return to the Waterford household in season three. Once again, she will subject herself to the strange and scary whims of Fred, but this time with the motive to get Hannah out of Gilead. June's almost left Gilead without Hannah about half a dozen times at this point, but from here on out, saving Hannah will be June's sole focus, especially now that Nicole is safe with Emily.

4. Bring on the resistance

In her quest to save her daughter, June will also be after the destruction of Gilead. Vanity Fair spoke with showrunner Bruce Miller who said season three will address the resistance more overtly. Vanity Fair writes, "The writers’ room has adopted a mantra for this next phase of the story: 'Blessed be the fight.'"

5. Commander Lawrence will return

The weird, eccentric dude who helped Emily escape isn't done gracing us with his weirdness in the show. Miller told Vanity Fair Commander Lawrence will play a big role in season three and will meet June again.

"He’s running a little bit of an island for misfit toys," Miller explained. "I like to call it, he’s running a no-kill shelter. He’s the one who brings in all the people who break rules in other houses and keeps them around until they can move on or whatever."

6. Luke is after Commander Waterford

Hell hath no fury like a husband scorned. OK, not exactly the saying, but Commander Waterford had better watch his back in season three. After learning the commander was the man raping June, Luke was done playing it cool.

"Luke has been trying to take care of himself and kind of be a person who’s the voice of people like him, who have suffered these great losses and are trying to somehow maintain hope," Miller said, "but I think he’s done with maintaining and has moved on to acting. Now that he’s met Fred face-to-face, that is the focus of his fury — Fred. All of the sudden the Gilead, and the Gilead system, has been reduced to Fred Waterford — and he’s gonna find a way to get Fred."

Someone really should.

What do you think will go down in The Handmaid's Tale season three?

ET obtained criminal court documents for the case. The documents claimed that Read stole Moore's card between March 8, 2018 and March 27, 2018. He allegedly spent more than $169,764 at stores in and around Los Angeles, including Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. Surveillance video allegedly showed Read making these purchases at the same dates, times, and locations that Moore's card was used without her knowledge.

How did it happen? According to the documents obtained by ET, Moore's personal assistant called the credit company to report the charges as fraudulent. During the call, the employee reviewing the charges discovered that someone had reported Moore's card missing and requested a new one. "D.M.'s personal assistant stated that neither she nor D.M. made this report or request," the document reads.

Yikes. Considering that most credit card companies ask for specific personal information when requests like that are made, Read must have been pretty convincing if he was the one to call and request a new card. People reports that Read told special agent Alfredo Rossi that the card was delivered to a FedEx store, where he picked it up. Surveillance footage matched his account.

ET reports that he was arrested on April 5 outside of a storage unit he rented in Hollywood. Later that day, according to the court documents, "Read admitted to obtaining D.M.’s credit card without authorization and fraudulently using it to make purchases at stores."

The moral of this story seems simple: no matter how badly you want to spend a star's money, it probably won't be worth it in the end.
