Twitter Is Losing It Over Kate Middleton's ‘Rosemary's Baby' Dress

Welp, the royal baby watch took a turn for the bizarre when Twitter decided it had already seen the Jenny Packham dress Kate Middleton, aka the Duchess of Cambridge, wore to introduce Prince Louis to the crowds waiting outside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in London. Where, you ask? You know, in one of the most epic horror films of all time.

Twitterites have pointed out that the dress — a sweet red print with a white lacework Peter Pan collar — is frighteningly similar to Mia Farrow's ensemble in Rosemary's Baby. Not familiar with that film? Oh, it's just a sweet little movie about a woman who gives birth to Satan's child. Hey, it happens.

We've compared the dresses, and... yeah, Twitter's not wrong. However, we're pretty sure it's just a coincidence and Prince Louis is Prince William's child, not the devil's.

Still, the comments are pretty hilarious. We just can't keep a stiff upper lip this time. Sorry, Kate. You know we love you.

8 Ways to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo This Year

$

0

It’s going to be May 5 soon. To some of you, that’s just another day on the way to summer. For others, it brings to mind margaritas and tacos and an excuse to party: Cinco de Mayo (literally, "fifth of May").

Admittedly, as a white, non-Hispanic person, I can't tell you the lived experience of being a Mexican watching all the stupid shenanigans Americans get up to on May 5. What I can say is, folks, we need to be better than this.

The truth is that Americans are way more into May 5 than Mexicans are, in part because the date refers to a battle against the French that took place in Puebla in 1862. Although the Mexican troops won that battle, they later lost a second Battle of Puebla to the French. In fact, Cinco de Mayo didn’t really gain steam as a holiday in the U.S. until the 1960s, probably as an excuse to sell more beer.

None of that has stopped Americans from turning it into a national event. Hopefully, by now you know well enough that if you’re not of Hispanic descent, donning a sombrero and poncho for the festivities is problematic (cultural appropriation, anybody?) Hopefully, you also know well enough not to speak in silly (and offensive) accents, and you’ve decided not to streak through the night yelling “Cinco de Drinko!” We know this, right? Right?

That doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate. If you’d like to recognize Cinco de Mayo — without looking like an ignorant jerk — here are some ideas.

1. Learn more about Mexican history...

… starting with the fact that Mexico’s real independence day is Sept. 16, which is recognized as the beginning of the revolt against the Spaniards.

Mexico is full of rich history. Whether you start with the Olmecs, the earliest known society in Mexico, and work your way forward, or start with more recent times, there’s no shortage of human stories to learn from. Challenge yourself to learn something new.

More: 13 DIY Mother's Day Gifts That Will Impress Your Mom

2. Read books by Mexican or Mexican-American authors

Try I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, The Hummingbird’s Daughter by Luis Alberto Urrea or The Distance Between Us by Reyna Grande.

3. Watch Mexican movies & shows

There are several movies available to stream. Try I Dream in Another Language for starters.

The same goes for shows. Try Rebelde or La Reina del Sur. Netflix even produced a fictional show, Ingobernable, about the president and first lady of Mexico that has gotten rave reviews.

More: 12 Ways We Can Get One Step Closer to Pay Equity

4. Support local Mexican-American businesses

Skip chain restaurants like Chipotle or Taco Bell. Whether it’s a food truck or a clothing store, support businesses owned by local Mexican-Americans instead.

5. Cook at home

Experiment with Mexican cuisine from the comfort of your own kitchen. Try to go beyond recipes and learn about the cuisines of different areas in Mexico — Baja, Yucatán, Jalisco — and a bit about their history and how it influences the expression of their local dishes.

6. Attend a street festival

Look for local festivals that incorporate mariachi bands, jarabe Tapatío dancers and other cultural experiences you can learn more about.

7. Listen to Mexican or Mexican-American musicians

Selena counts, yes, but try to expand your experiences here. Spotify has a regional Mexicano (Mexican regional) playlist if you need somewhere to start.

8. Donate to organizations

Here are a few to consider:

Detention Watch Network, which is “working to expose and challenge the injustices of the United States’ immigration detention and deportation system.”

Farmworker Justice, which “seeks to empower migrant and seasonal farmworkers to improve their living and working conditions, immigration status, health, occupational safety, and access to justice.”

Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, which “promotes social change through advocacy, communications, community education, and litigation in the areas of education, employment, immigrant rights, and political access.”

Happy Battle of Puebla Day.

Kaley Cuoco Is Gushing Over a Man Who’s Not Her Fiancé

There's no love lost between The Big Bang Theory costars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki, even if that love is only platonic these days. On top of starring in one of the biggest sitcoms currently on the air, Cuoco and Galecki have both romantic history that, in the years since their breakup, has morphed into a very friendly costar relationship. It's nice to see these exes are still dear friends, as was the case when Cuoco couldn't help but get all cute whilst gushing in a heartfelt "Happy Birthday" Instagram post dedicated to the TBBT star.

On Monday, Cuoco posted a photo of herself and Galecki on her Instagram of the two in their younger years, hanging out during some downtime for a TBBT event. Cuoco captioned the photo, wherein she and Galecki are making silly faces, with a lovely message: "Happy happy birthday to the best tv husband a girl could ask for! This pic was taken during our first press tour in Rome. I don’t think we had any idea the ride we would be on! Love u Mooks!"

Cuoco Wishes Galecki HBD Insta

Monday was a big day for Galecki, who turned 43. We'll have to wait and see how his birthday celebrations went, but for now, we think it's safe to say that this birthday message is just about the best birthday message you could hope for when it's coming from an ex who you also work with day in and day out. Then again, even though the pair split in 2010, things have always remained friendly.

"We’re dear friends, still. Kaley’s not just an ex, she’s a part of my life," Galecki confirmed in an interview with CBS Watch! magazine in 2013. So, if we take that into account and add it to their general rapport, then this birthday message is par for the course.

And before you get any funny ideas about Cuoco gushing too hard over Galecki to the point that it has subtextual meaning, let us remind you that she's a happily engaged woman. In December 2017, Cuoco posted an emotional video on her Instagram showing the immediate aftermath of her then-boyfriend, Karl Cook, proposing to her after two years of dating. With tears in her eyes and excitement practically radiating through the video, Cuoco's been enjoying every second of her engagement from the minute it happened.

Cuoco's just out here gushing hard for a major event in her close friend's life and that's that. Although, the fact that they have a very deep, loving, happy personal history just adds an extra layer of intrigue to the entire thing — and we're totally here for it.

This Bachelor Franchise Favorite Finally Found Forever Love

After years of trying (and sadly, failing) to find her forever love on The Bachelor and various spinoffs, fan favorite Tenley Molzahn married her boyfriend of two years, Taylor Leopold, in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in San Diego on Friday.

Us Weekly rounded up Instagram posts made by Molzahn in the days leading up to the wedding as well as a sweet snap she shared from their "mini-moon" on Sunday. Leopold and Molzahn beam at the camera beneath a red rose archway in the photo, which Molzahn captioned, "Friday was simply the best day of our lives, but yesterday waking up as his wife made it even better! Soaking up time with just one another - mini-mooning is the way to go! Thank you @omnilacosta for giving us this beautiful space to rest & enjoy being newlyweds!!"

Molzahn told Us in 2016 that she met Leopold through a mutual friend. Leopold is a product-line manager for a shoe company and apparently hasn't seen any of her episodes of The Bachelor. "I’m not ashamed of anything I’ve ever done. I’m proud of myself and what I’ve learned and gained from it," she said, adding that if Leopold ever expressed interest in watching, she'd be "fine with it, but he doesn't want to."

Sometimes, a fresh start is really all you need to make a relationship work. For Molzahn, that clearly meant dating outside the Bachelor Nation. Molzahn was the runner-up on Jake Pavelka's Bachelor season in 2010, and she started dating Kiptyn Locke during Bachelor Pad that same year; the two eventually split in 2014.

On her relationship with Leopold, Molzahn told Us, “I had the best first date of my life with him and in that minute of just meeting him I knew there was something really special about him." She announced their engagement in an Instagram post on Jan. 13 just one day after Leopold proposed. Molzahn also shared their engagement story on her blog, Tenley's Sweet & Free Life, in February.

Guests at the Leopold-Molzahn wedding shared photos of the affair on Instagram, some of which can be seen at Life & Style. It seems there was no official hashtag for the event, which isn't surprising given the laid-back vibe presented in the photos. Molzahn and Leopold are all smiles, of course. We're so happy she found the one to present her final rose to.

Mariah Carey Is Ready to Conquer Las Vegas — Again

Mariah Carey is getting ready to conquer the world yet again. The singer has had a rocky recent couple of years but she's slowly been working her way back towards a major comeback, which she rang in (quite literally) with a pitch-perfect New Year's Eve performance earlier this year. Now, Carey is taking the next step in her comeback season and it will see her heading back to a city she loves and that she's performed in, Las Vegas, to do another residency.

Carey's announcement came in through her Twitter account on Monday morning. "I’m thrilled to be returning to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with a BRAND NEW residency, THE BUTTERFLY RETURNS," she announced, "beginning July 5th! Fan Club presale starts Tue 5/1 before the public on sale this Friday at 10 am PT!"

Mariah Carey New LV Residency Tweet

Carey's return to Las Vegas for her second residency is a short one. Her first residency, Mariah #1 to Infinity, ran from 2015 to 2017. According to the promo poster shown in her announcement tweet, The Butterfly Returns will only run for three months. There's no reason given as to why this residency is so short, but that likely ensures that her performance dates will sell out quickly; fans love them some Carey and it's been a hot minute since she's been on tour here in the U.S.

This residency comes at a good time for Carey overall. It's been four years since Carey has released an album (her last album, Me. I Am Mariah...the Elusive Chanteuse was released in 2014) although she has released singles, like 2017's "I Don't." With an Instagram photo from the weekend of April 27 showing Carey back in the studio, there's a chance that she could be releasing some new music just in time to coincide with her residency and help get her back on the map.

Sorry, but You Can't Get Me to Like Westworld

I absolutely love the hour-long dramas on HBO. For me, the characters in The Sorpranos felt like real people, even friends. When Adriana was killed off, I actually felt like I had lost a friend. Six Feet Under taught me about death. When I had a death in my own family, I remember thinking how the show subtly prepared me to deal with planning the funeral. Though only two seasons long, Rome, in my opinion, is the best TV show of all time. So, naturally, I was excited when Westworld first premiered. The premise sounded fascinating: an amusement park to fulfill your every fantasy. Hell, yeah! I wanted in!

Let’s back up another moment.

As a little girl, I loved watching the sentimental if not downright hokey show Fantasy Island.

More: Evan Rachel Wood Just Let a New Westworld Season 2 Hint Slip

Fantasy Island

It was fun and romantic, but every character seemed to have benign fantasies that could easily be fulfilled in a mere 44 minutes. I was hoping Westworld would be the darker, edgier version of Fantasy Island.

It is. But mostly for men.

I’m used to watching male fantasy-fulfillment shows. Some of them I really enjoyed, like Entourage — I watched all eight seasons. But there was something that disturbed me on a deep level about Westworld. Of course, modern-day or futuristic fantasies involve advanced technology, but when you distill down the fantasies in Westworld, it’s basically men having sex with robots. That led me to ask the question: Do men prefer to have sex with a robot over a living, breathing, thinking woman?

Thandie Newton in Westworld

More: Thandie Newton Has Been Undervalued by Hollywood for Too Long

Let's go back to the 2013 film Her. In it, the protagonist, Theodor (Joaquin Phoenix), falls in love with a phone app called Samantha (Scarlett Johansson). Samantha is designed to be the perfect companion for Theodor, which is great for him, I guess, but the relationship is completely one-sided. Their “romance” doesn’t involve the complexities, the bonding, the compromise that comes when two sentient beings couple up. I get that relationships, romantic or otherwise, are difficult; they involve risk and vulnerability, but the rewards can be tremendous. Theodor seems perfectly satisfied with the vapid, electronic version of a woman, however. Is this a flaw in Theodor’s character? Or is this a broader statement about men's desires? Is emotional intimacy just too much?

I’m not saying that Westworld is getting anything wrong when it comes to male fantasy. As a woman, it just makes me feel insignificant. Secondary. Disconnected. The show also explores the Madonna-whore complex, with Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) being the virginal figure with Maeve (Thandie Newton) being the whore. There are some feminist threads here, as each of these robot women struggles to find her independence from men, but again the Madonna-whore dichotomy is entirely a male construct, identified by Sigmund Freud nearly a century ago.

More: What Talulah Riley's Westworld Promotion Means for Season 2

Westworld does push the boundaries of fantasy, revealing the hidden desires many men wish they could fulfill. It also seems the show is looking to give more power to the female robots in Season 2. For me, however, the show creates a world where real women are props, and it’s not a world I want to spend time in. I worry that the future includes real sex robots and a lot more ways for people to disconnect from each other. I prefer to spend my TV hours watching shows where people of all genders share the human experience, as difficult as that may be.

Real Moms Ease Your Delivery Fears

Plenty of soon-to-be parents are excited about parenthood; few are that psyched about childbirth. Because face it: Labor pains aren't fun no matter how beautiful the miracle of life may be. And far too often, pregnant folks stumble upon hospital horror stories that instantly catapult their already nervous selves into anxiety overdrive. But while most births aren’t easy (and yes, most of them hurt like hell), the good news is they're often totally non-terrifying — and the vast majority have happy outcomes.

Of course, there are parents who have traumatic childbirth experiences, but that's far from the norm. Plenty of parents will honestly tell you that birth was totally fine — even easier than they'd imagined. Their best advice? Just do things your own way. After all, it’s your baby’s entrance into this world.

So, to help ease the anxious minds of future parents, we asked moms to get real about all the silver linings and not-so-terribles that were hallmarks of their labors and deliveries.

More: The SheKnows Guide to Giving Birth

“My motherly instincts kicked in”

“Labor for me was one of those things where I had high expectations and was waiting with bated breath for it to come. Then, when I went into labor and felt all of the things, I thought, 'Oh, that's what they meant.' After all of that waiting and planning, it snuck up on me; my motherly instincts kicked in immediately, and I remembered two of the 300 things my doctor told me: breathe and stay calm. In the end, everything was fine and worked out perfectly.” — Rachel P.

“You can't plan how labor will go, but you must trust that your body is able to handle it”

“As a health care professional, I took the advice I give to my patients: I went to every class and read every book. Lesson learned: You don't need to do that. The best advice I can share is to practice relaxation techniques. Breathing helped me the most coupled with essential oils — lavender and eucalyptus. You can't plan how labor will go, but you must trust that your body is able to handle it. The staff at the hospital is there to help you feel comfortable, so don't be afraid to ask for what you need. I got in a tub for about two hours, and that helped keep me calm. Focus on every hour — as each passes, you’ll be more able to trust in your abilities.” — Rubina T.

“Your body has built-in signals”

“Listen to yourself; your body has built-in signals, and if you listen closely, they will tell you a lot, both during delivery and afterwards, when you’re keeping your little human alive. Postpartum, it’s important to know that you have a right to heal. You have a right to talk about your experiences and to receive support. A lot of people will say, ‘Well, at least you have a healthy baby, and that's what really matters.’ That's not entirely true. You matter as well. Find people who can support you, listen to you and give you room to heal so that you can take care of your baby.” — Meghan B.

“I barely felt labor with either of my children”

“My biggest tip for scared moms is to get the epidural and get it early! I barely felt labor with either of my children. While the experience is obviously scary due to all the unknowns, not being in terrible pain from the contractions was a tremendous help during the birthing process.” — Lisa C.

“A doula made everything easier”

“Even if a birth plan doesn’t carry out to a T, having one set in stone before labor allows the parents to provide their input and makes them feel empowered during the birthing experience. Many expecting parents have no concept of the protocols and procedures having to do with birth until they start writing their plan. When I had a doula for my second and third births, my husband was free to focus on me, but also to take a break without feeling like he was leaving me. When birth interventions were on the table, she was there to help us make informed decisions about which were appropriate for my situation." — Leigh Anne O.

“When it came down to the actual birthing experience, everything just flowed naturally”

“First of all, having fear about labor is completely normal, so don't try to resist it or push it away; that only makes it bigger. Of course, it doesn't help that most women share their worst horror stories when it comes to giving birth... I’ve had three children and I, too, experienced fear before birthing my kids. Yet when it came down to the actual birthing experience, everything just flowed naturally. I believe the key is to trust your body's wisdom to do what it knows how to do best — just like you don't have to control the different stages of your pregnancy by telling your body or your baby's body when to grow their little toes or beautiful eyes. The same goes for childbirth; you don't need to be afraid or be in control of the process. In fact, the more you can let go and allow it to happen, the easier it becomes, both physically and mentally." — Veronica P.

“Be open to whatever happens”

“You can never really imagine what labor and delivery will be like until you go through it. Of course, it’s wonderful to be as prepared as you can, but nothing can fully prepare you for what will happen, and things can change in an instant, so whatever romantic notion you have of giving birth might as well be thrown out the window. Be open to whatever happens. if you hoped for a drug-free labor but need the meds, take them. If you hoped for a vaginal birth but ended up with a C-section, it’s OK.” — Maria L.

“A laboring mother should not feel shame in leveraging researched, proven medicine”

“There is a lot of stigma around using epidurals, but the reality is, a laboring mother should not feel shame in leveraging researched, proven medicine recommended by medical professionals to help get through delivery if needed. Also, make friends with your nurses. At the end of the day, aside from the new mom, the nurses are often the unsung heroes of the delivery room. I come from a family of many sisters whom we joke were built for having babies. Our delivery stories range from funny to somewhat unbelievable, but always practical.” — Kim P.

“The shower eased labor pains tremendously”

“When I went to the hospital, I was planning on having an epidural, but because of the back surgery I had the year prior, I wasn’t given one. What helped me more than anything was getting in the shower. I’m not sure why, but it eased labor pains tremendously. Also, ask for nitrous oxide. This helped reduce my anxiety about the pain. You inhale as a contraction comes on and it helps reduce the intensity of the contraction.” — Ashley C.

“Your body is beautiful... & created so that you can do this."

“Trust her [your body]. If she says you need to walk around, walk. If she says you need to squat and roll your hips, do it. Listen to her; she’ll guide you. Talk to your pain. What you resist persists, so instead, talk to your pain. Going through a contraction is just your little one making his or her way down the birth canal, and he or she is working hard too. Be your baby’s cheerleader. Let him know you’re going through this together. This is your moment to shine as a team. You've got this.” — Kimberly S.

More: This Is What Childbirth Really Feels Like

“It’s OK to have your baby however you have to”

“It took 36 hours for my daughter to come out, and the entire time, I kept refusing epidurals and pain medication [until] I was so exhausted that I finally took something for the pain. It’s OK to have your baby via C-section or vaginally or with or without meds because in the end you get a prize — your baby. Having a child isn’t a competition [as to] who could slug it out in labor the longest or not take medication. It is an amazing experience and your own experience.” — Elizabeth T.

Bottom line: Childbirth isn't easy. But plenty of parents will tell you it's worth it. And however yours plays out, it's only the beginning of the real journey: parenthood.

These new beverages include the new Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and Triple Mocha Frappuccino as well as a new sweet cold-brew whipped cream and a recently introduced cold foam. Both of the new Frappuccinos have a foundation of sweet cold-brew whipped cream infused with cold brew, white chocolate and dark caramel topped with a swirl of either dark caramel sauce for the Ultra Caramel or dark mocha sauce for the Triple Mocha. The Ultra Caramel Frappuccino then has a dark caramel coffee Frappuccino layer, and the Triple Mocha Frappuccino's delicious second layer is a mocha coffee flavor. We know. We can hardly breathe either.

All these new items are launching in stores in the U.S. and Canada today. There will also be an opportunity later this week on Thursday, when for one day only, customers will get 50 percent off any grande or venti Frappuccino after 3 p.m.

Get ready to do some good cooking. The Barefoot Contessa herself is getting ready to launch a new cookbook in October.

Her 11th cookbook, the first cookbook in two years, will be called Cook Like a Pro. The book is centered on accessible, tasty recipes and cooking techniques and tips “so you can cook with confidence,” Garten wrote on her Instagram.

How does the recipe mogul come up with so many recipe ideas? It’s mostly that she endlessly experiments with her favorite dishes. “Over time it’s just gotten easier, and I have a running list of dishes and flavors that I like,” Garten told People. “For example, I love braised short ribs, and this time I’m braising them in a whole bottle of red wine so it’s got a deep, deep flavor. And then I paired them with grits, which I decided needed something interesting, so I put blue cheese in them. And it turns out the blue cheese and red wine are a really great combination.”

I don't know about you, but I will be counting down the days until October when we finally get to see this new cookbook.

Blake Lively's Instagram used to be a treasure trove of photos that gave us a look into her everyday life. In addition to her gorgeous fashion snaps, the shade she occasionally threw at her husband Ryan Reynolds made her well worth the follow. Now, that's all gone. Lively not only unfollowed Reynolds, but deleted every. Single. Picture. A pretty dramatic decision — but wait. Don't freak out yet.

The sudden move is pretty obviously part of a viral marketing effort for her new film A Simple Favor. And it’s working. We’re all talking about it. (And mourning. Come back, Blake!) In the film, Lively plays a woman named Emily Nelson who disappears. Her Instagram profile description currently reads, “What happened to Emily?” and yesterday she made the day for a bunch of women by finding and following 28 Emily Nelsons. Is there significance to the number? Is Emily Nelson 28 years old in the film? Is it a hint? We don’t know. We’ll have to see the movie to find out.

A Simple Favor stars Lively, Anna Kendrick and Linda Cardellini. Kendrick plays a mommy vlogger who starts investigating her friend Emily’s disappearance. Those were dark and twisty fun, so this film looks promising.

We don't hear a lot about Leighton Meester and Adam Brody these days — perhaps because we don't hear a lot about Gossip Girl or The O.C. anymore either. But also because this married couple tends to keep their private life just that: private. They share a 2-year-old daughter, Arlo, but rarely mention her; Meester once told Refinery29, “I don’t talk about Arlo very much. I am very proud of that area of my life."
So we confess we were excited to get a wee glimpse into their family life recently when Meester attended the third annual We All Play FUNdraiser on Monday. At the event, she spoke with Us Weekly about life with Arlo — and Arlo's very important "job."
"I’ve realized more than ever that playing is how they learn and work. When they play, that’s their work. That’s their job," Meester said. “As soon as they get up, they want to play,” she added. “That’s how they grow, socialize, learn and develop.” Um, can we have that job too? Where can we send our résumés?

And how did these two alums of our erstwhile TV addictions get together in the first place? Meester and Brody met while filming The Oranges (released in 2011) and married secretly in 2014, the sneaky lovebirds. In a Reddit chat in 2014, Brody broke his silence on his married life with Meester, saying somewhat cryptically, “I do some stuff, but she does the heavy lifting figuratively. Literally I do the heavy lifting.”

Christina El Moussa and her new (British!) boyfriend, Ant Anstead, are about to hit a pretty significant milestone — their six-month anniversary. So how are things going with these new lovers? Well, if Instagram is any indication, really good. Like really, really good. And it doesn't look like this is just lust. This might be the real thing, people.

Anstead posted a photo of the couple snuggling on a bench under an archway of flowers and captioned it, “What an amazing six months it’s been with this lady!!! Where has the time flown! I’ve loved every second I spend with her! She totally gets me (which is rare) and we have done so so much in such a short time! @christinaelmoussa is a proper travel buddy! With an amazing sense of humour and gets my British sarcasm (also rare). Timing is weird! Very weird in a great way! A VERY great way! Looking forward to the next chapter #Act2

So, Anstead is head over heels, but does El Moussa reciprocate those feelings? Short answer: Yes. El Moussa replied to his post with some love of her own, saying, “Fate, timing and some really good luck... can’t wait for the next 6 months and all the adventures in store”. A few days ago, she posted a pic on her own Instagram of the two of them in an embrace on a dock. “Walk on the wild side with me @ant_ansted,” she captioned it, a reference to the cute T-shirt she’s wearing in the pic.

Anstead may not be a household name here in the U.S., but he’s pretty famous in the U.K. for his automotive TV series For the Love of Cars and Wheelers and Dealers. Last summer, he separated from his wife of 12 years and met El Moussa through a mutual friend at the end of 2017. We learned about their relationship — of course — on social media.

“At the end of 2017 I was lucky enough to be introduced to this guy through a mutual friend. #fate,” El Moussa posted.

They officially made their relationship public on New Year's Day when she posted a photo of them on a bike ride together. The day before, she had posted a quote that might have been a hint about the changes in her love life. “And suddenly you know… It’s time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings.” Since then, El Moussa has posted photos of the couple in London, Las Vegas, Napa and on safari in South Africa.

More: Christina El Moussa Could Remarry This Year

Last fall El Moussa told In Touch that she’d consider getting married again, but wasn't ready quite yet. “I love being married but it’s not something I want to think about right now.” That was before she met Anstead, though, so have her feelings changed? A source told Life & Style that the pair is talking about it but that Anstead still has to finalize his divorce. He'd better get on that!

This sweet couple will no doubt find some adventure on which to celebrate their time together, and hopefully, they'll share a pic or two with us. Happy anniversary to the lovebirds!

Here Are the Next 12 Movies (12!) Dwayne Johnson Is Bringing to the Big Screen

It's hard to believe Dwayne Johnson rose to fame as a wrestler with the tagline "Can you smell what the Rock is cookin'?" Today, he's one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood, raking in the big bucks for blockbuster hits. And given his reputation for being impossibly nice, is it any wonder everyone's scrambling to have Johnson star in their next box-office hit?

More: Dwayne Johnson's Daughter Rallies With "Girl Power" After Health Scare

Johnson first made the transition from wrestling pro to legitimate actor back in 2001 as the Scorpion King in The Mummy Returns — a bit part, but one that led to his own spinoff movie, The Scorpion King. He still made time for the wrestling ring for a few years before really hitting the ground running as Hollywood's hottest new action hero.

Fast forward to the present, and Johnson has 12 whole films in various stages of production. Here's the rundown (which, coincidentally, is the title of a 2003 movie starring Johnson) on everything this super-busy star has in the works (note: Not all of the movies have released trailers yet!).

1. The Janson Directive

Based on the novel of the same name by Robert Ludlum (of Bourne Identity fame), this recently announced film stars Johnson as former Navy SEAL and POW Paul Janson. The character, who works in corporate security, must go on the run after an assignment to save billionaire philanthropist Peter Novak goes awry.

2. San Andreas 2

San Andreas 2 movie trailer

San Andreas 2 movie trailer

Johnson will reprise his role as rescue pilot Raymond Gaines in this follow-up to the 2015 thriller San Andreas. The sequel details are pretty hush-hush so far, but THR suggests the action will expand globally to include the infamous Ring of Fire — an area in the Pacific Ocean riddled with fault lines and volcanoes.

3. Jungle Cruise

Move over, Pirates of the Caribbean! There's a new Disney-ride-turned-film-franchise in town. Based on the beloved theme park attraction, Jungle Cruise will see Johnson take travelers on a small riverboat through a dangerous jungle with a supernatural twist. Variety reports that Johnson will be joined in the film by Emily Blunt and British comedian Jack Whitehall. Sounds fun, right?

4. Doc Savage

Johnson is set to star as the title character in this film based on the classic pulp magazines about a man born with superhuman strength. Unfortunately, the project — which is being directed by Shane Black — ran into a few logistical snags (read: rights issues) that have held up production. However, Johnson told Collider in April that they are "still kind of working through" the holdups and hope to move forward.

5. Black Adam

Black Adam trailer

Shazam! fans are understandably hyped up about this spinoff centered on the 1974 film's anti-hero, Black Adam. "The script came in, it's great, we're working on it," Johnson told Yahoo in April. "If things come together in the way we anticipate them coming together, that feels like a 2019 movie." Something to look forward to, at least!

6. Big Trouble in Little China

While this film is more rumor than real life at this point, online forums have been buzzing for years about the idea of rebooting the 1986 cult classic. Johnson would tackle the role of Jack Burton, famously played by Kurt Russell in the original. Considering how well the star handled his modern adaptation of Jumanji, we're inclined to say he'd honor the original and turn out something great — especially since he told CinemaBlend he'd love to get OG director John Carpenter and even Russell involved in the remake.

7. Skyscraper

Skyscraper trailer

What would summer be without an action-packed Dwayne Johnson blockbuster to get your heart pumping? Coming July 13 to a theater near you is Skyscraper, in which Johnson plays FBI Hostage Rescue Team leader and war veteran Will Sawyer. The title of the film comes from Sawyer's career as a security analyst for — you guessed it — skyscrapers. But Sawyer must try to clear his name (and save the day, of course) when one of Hong Kong's tallest buildings catches fire and he catches the blame.

8. Fighting With My Family

Talk about art imitating life! In Fighting With My Family, Johnson cameos as his former wrestling alter-ego in this film about a family of professional wrestlers. The movie is rooted in the true story of WWE Superstar Paige, who struggles to strike a balance between WWE fame and keeping her tight-knit family together.

9. Suicide Squad 2

The official Black Adam spinoff may be mired in legalities at the moment, but rumor has it that the character (Johnson) will show up in the 2019 Suicide Squad sequel. Little else is known about the follow-up, other than the fact that The Accountant's Gavin O'Connor will direct (as opposed to the first film's David Ayer).

10. Hobbs and Shaw

Hobbs & Shaw trailer

Hobbs & Shaw trailer

If this film sounds familiar, it's because you already know the characters — Luke Hobbs (played by Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham) came from The Fate of the Furious/The Fast and the Furious franchise. However, the film may be more memorable for all the behind-the-scenes drama it caused between Johnson and Fast and the Furious stars Tyrese Gibson and Vin Diesel.

11. Jumanji 2

Hooray! If you're anything like us, you're an unabashed fan of the original Jumanji (of course) and Johnson's 2017 reboot, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. So, it's exciting to know there's already a sequel in the works. Slated to release in December 2019, Jumanji 2 will see the return of at least some of the first film's cast: Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and, naturally, Johnson.

12. Red Notice

You'll have to wait a hot minute to watch this action thriller starring Johnson. According to Variety, its release date has been set for June 12, 2020. But with Johnson at the helm, we're sure it will be worth the wait. The premise? The actor will play an Interpol agent tasked with tracking down the world's most wanted art thief.

Is Becca's Bachelorette Promo the Best Yet?

It’s springtime again, which means the sun is warm, the birds are singing and a new Bachelorette is ready to find love on her own terms. ABC just dropped the first promo for Becca Kufrin’s season, and they’re sending a clear message about how this publicist is going to handle her season as The Bachelorette. As Kufrin seeks to reclaim her narrative in Bachelor Nation, the promotional materials we're seeing make it clear she's here, she's an independent woman and she's taking no prisoners.

More: Bachelorette Releases a Dreadfully Disappointing Trailer for Rachel's Season

Just a week before, The Bachelorette released an awesome poster promoting the series with Kufrin striking a power pose in a gorgeous slinky dress behind the words “Let’s do the damn thing.” It's a poster unlike any we've seen before, with lots of attitude and Kufrin looking straight into the camera, powerful and prepared.

Becca Bachelorette poster

If that weren’t enough, the promo teaser that was released on Monday is sure to get that message across loud and clear. Take a look and see for yourself.

More: Kaitlyn Bristow Basically Gave Away the Final Two Bachelorette Suitors

More important, Becca certainly isn’t the first strong woman to grace this series. Rachel Lindsay and Kaitlyn Bristowe were both forces of nature. Bristowe even broke the internet by having sex in the fantasy suite before the show’s sanctioned night. Andi Dorfman was having no excuses, and even JoJo Fletcher, sweet as she was, held her own. Let’s see how the show promoted them.

Lindsay’s promotion focused on the very basic tagline, "That’s my girl," which totally subjugated her to the male suitors on the show before the show even hit the air. It was kind of an insult to the smart mind and hard work that made her an attorney.

Rachel Lindsay promo

And then there's Bristowe. Poor Bristowe actually had the word “cray” in her promo, and it focused on the fact that there were two Bachelorettes, but didn’t communicate a thing about either one of them.

More: 13 Things Only The Bachelor Fans Would Understand

While Fletcher got words like “boss” and “confident” included in her promo, they also cast her as the victim of a bad, bad man who was just willing to “get back up on the unicorn”? We know the series wants to present themselves as a fantasyland, but that just makes her sound nuts.

Jojo Fletcher promo

Jojo Fletcher promo

So, what’s with the girl power messaging this year? It’s quite possibly a reaction to the #MeToo and Time's Up movements sweeping the country. No show faces as much criticism for its treatment of women as The Bachelor, and The Bachelorette walks a fine line too as they try to sell the traditional princess dream of romance and love. Regardless, this year's promo is head and shoulders above previous years.

Maybe they’ll be making some changes to the overall show this year. We don’t know yet since they’re keeping information tightly under wraps, but we’ll be watching to see if they take any of the shifting cultural perspectives into consideration when the first episode of the new season airs on May 28.

Just when we thought it was not possible to love Kristen Bell any more, she comes out with a powerful public service announcement about living with anxiety and depression. The Good Place actor released the video as part of the Child Mind Institute's #MyYoungerSelf campaign, which features influencers from the arts, entertainment and sports worlds sending messages of hope to young people.

In her PSA, Bell discusses living with anxiety and/or depression since she was 18 years old and says she'd tell her younger self not to be fooled "by this game of perfection that humans play because Instagram and magazines and TV shows strive for a certain aesthetic" where everything looks beautiful and people seem like they don't have any problems. That's not real life.

"Everyone has problems," Bell says. "Everyone feels yucky on the inside sometimes. And you deserve to feel just as beautiful on the days where you wear no make up and the days you don't shower and the days you feel like you're depressed. And you have an obligation to take care of yourself from the inside out."

Kensington Palace is becoming quite the destination for young royals. People reported that Princess Eugenie and her fiancé, Jack Brooksbank, have joined Prince William and Prince Harry by moving onto the grounds of the palace. The couple has moved into Ivy Cottage, which puts them right next to the residence of Harry and Meghan Markle in Nottingham Cottage. William and Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, already live in Apartment 1A, a reportedly larger residence inside the main hall of the palace.

Until now, Eugenie has been living with her sister, Princess Beatrice, at St. James Palace, but the move to Kensington Palace at this point in time makes sense. She and Brooksbank are said to be close to the princes and have gone out for nights on the town with Harry and Markle. Why wouldn't you want to become neighbors with your friends who also happen to be your family? It sounds ideal!

Eugenie and Brooksbank are set to wed in October after seven years together. He works in the hospitality industry, running an inn and a nightclub. They met when friends introduced them while he was on a ski trip to the Swiss town where Eugenie attended college according to People. When Eugenie left the U.K. to work at a New York auction house for a few years, they kept their romance going long-distance. Now, they’ll be marrying in the same place as Harry and Markle, St. George’s Chapel on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The cottage that Eugenie and Brooksbank are moving into is reportedly a three-bedroom home right next door to the two-bedroom Nottingham Cottage that Harry and Markle call home according to Homes and Property. Before Markle came along, it was set up as Harry’s bachelor pad, and before that, it was the first home of William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

Justin Timberlake Tells Ellen DeGeneres About Son Silas' Pee Hugs

Sure, once upon a time, Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears may have worn matching denim outfits out on the town. And he may have hooked up with a Spice Girl back in the day (just a little tidbit revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show during a raucous game of Never Have I Ever with all the other former members of 'NSYNC). But these days, JT's nighttime hijinks are strictly limited to cleaning up toddler pee — and we have never loved him more.

Timberlake told DeGeneres about life on his Man of the Woods Tour, an experience he's sharing with wife Jessica Biel and 3-year-old son Silas Randall. Timberlake explained to DeGeneres that recently, after he crawled into bed around 2 a.m., he was visited by Silas, who wanted to give his dad a hug.

“He’s a big boy now, which he will be happy to tell you,” Timberlake told DeGeneres. “We’re getting really well down the line with the pee-peeing on the potty thing, but at nighttime, we give him a diaper.”

Timberlake continued about Silas' nighttime visit, "I feel the hand and he comes in and he hugs me, and right on my back I’m like, ‘That’s really wet.’”

But Timberlake was unfazed by the soggy wakeup call. “Anybody who’s a parent out there knows that it’s like you’ve never been more excited to be peed on,” he quipped.

“Goin’ on tour. #MOTWTOUR,” he captioned the Instagram post. Fun fact: "'Silas,' in case you didn't know, means "man of the woods." Adorable.

We loved Timberlake in his double-denim days, but we have to say, fatherhood looks good on this guy — pee-stained pj's and all.

Could You Get an Abortion From Your Doctor If You Needed One?

$
0
0

If you were seeking an abortion, where would you go? Would you be able to get one from your primary care physician or your OB-GYN? And if you couldn’t get an abortion from either, how would you proceed?

Here is a scary fact: According to the Guttmacher Institute, in 2014, people seeking abortion in the U.S. often had to drive between 180 and 330 miles to access the procedure. Business Insider reports that the number of clinics in the country has decreased from 851 in 2008 to 788 in 2014, and five states have only a single clinic.

Not surprisingly, the number of abortion providers is woeful as well — according to the Guttmacher Institute, in 2014, 90 percent of U.S. counties do not have one, so if you live in one of those counties, you have to figure out how you’re getting to a county or a state that does have one, and that’s going to increase both the time it takes to access the abortion and how much it will cost.

More: What’s It Like to Wait More Than 72 Hours for an Abortion?

Why are there so few abortion providers? Well, for one, abortion isn’t part of the curriculum in most medical schools, although it’s an extremely common procedure, which 1 in 4 people with vaginas will undergo in their lifetime.

“Abortion isn’t covered in formal curriculum because it’s controversial,” Lois Backus, executive director of Medical Students for Choice says. MSFC works to increase the number of abortion providers by increasing opportunities for medical students to become providers as well as working with medical schools to expand their curricula around all facets of reproductive health. Currently, MSFC says it has activists working at 90 percent of U.S. medical schools and in 25 countries, and its alumni provide abortions all over the U.S. and the world.

Abortion isn’t commonly addressed in residency programs, Backus says, not just because most abortions don’t take place in hospitals, but because residencies are often pressed for time, and some institutions, such as Catholic hospitals, refuse to address it. There’s also the matter of abortion stigma, which dictates how others regard abortion, and that includes perpetuating falsehoods about abortion (it causes breast cancer, it ruins your fertility) and ideas that it’s a dirty, unsafe procedure, which “real” doctors don’t perform.

Providers contend with this, as well as potential backlash from anti-abortion forces, Backus says, and it stops newly minted doctors as well as medical students from pursuing training in abortion care. “People are told by their employers that they can’t perform abortions on the weekends,” she says. “Job offers have been rescinded.”

More: 17 Foods Pregnant Women Crave & Why We Crave It

So what about your own doctor?

It’s not uncommon to not know if your doctor is trained to perform abortions — and you might not think to ask about it until you need it.

“I guess I never really thought about abortion in the case of a wanted pregnancy until I was in that position,” K says. She knew her original OB-GYN was a provider, but after learning that she had a higher than preferred risk for birth defects, she found out more about what it would take to actually terminate a pregnancy. “Basically my doctors were like, 'We are trained to do this, but in order to get it done while California law still protects you, you’ll probably need to go to Planned Parenthood.' It was an unexpected glitch I had never really considered, that even in states where there are deep protections around abortion rights, that facility access is often a barrier.”

Jackie, who lives in New York City, was in her second trimester when she learned her fetus had a serious genetic disease, and she and her husband decided on abortion. “Finding any doctor to terminate after 12 weeks was very difficult,” she says. She spent days calling around the city to find a provider, and eventually did. Second trimester abortions are more complex than first trimester, and because of that, providers need to be trained specifically in them. Since we’re talking about a shortage of providers in general, the scarcity of second trimester providers is high, while the need, of course, still exists.

In West Virginia, where Caroline Vu is finishing medical school, there’s one abortion provider, no Planned Parenthood, and a law was recently passed prohibiting the use of telemedicine to administer medical abortion (the abortion pill). Vu, who was the MSFC board of directors president for the 2017 – 2018 year, sees changes in the landscape of abortion care when it comes to increasing the number of providers, especially after the 2016 election. More OB-GYN programs are getting funding for abortion training, and there are fellowships available to encourage folks to learn how to perform abortions. “It’s not just about learning to provide abortion,” she says. “People also learn that access to choice is different for different people.”

It’s important to have a conversation with your doctor about abortion before you need one, not just because statistically, you may need abortion care at some point in your life, but also because it’s a good way to bust abortion stigma, and your doctor might be nervous about bringing it up.

More: Pregnant in 2018? Here's What You Need to Know

“Doctors are often fearful of raising that issue. They assume patients will react badly,” Backus says. “Raising the issue will help establish that you think it’s important and want to talk about it.”

Backus herself won’t go to a doctor who doesn’t provide abortions, but she recognizes that that’s not what everyone can do, especially given the shortage of providers and especially in rural areas. “Depending on where you live, you might not have that option.”

So the next time you have an appointment with your OB-GYN or general practitioner, ask them about abortion care — it's good information to have, and you're doing your part to normalize the conversation.

One Very Famous Friend Is Helping John Cena Rebound From Heartbreak

John Cena's had a good and not so good 2018 so far. While he's had a ton of career success, his longtime girlfriend-turned-fiancée, Nikki Bella, also called off their wedding, and while Cena has been pretty open about the heartbreak he's experiencing right now, it seems things may be looking up. He just landed a huge new movie role thanks to fellow former wrestler Dwayne Johnson.

Johnson took to Instagram to announce his next project (because 12 movies in production clearly isn't enough). Based on a novel by Robert Ludlum (the writer of the Bourne series). Johnson is producing an action thriller called The Janson Directive and the lead character is going to be portrayed by — you guessed it! John Cena.

More: Dwayne Johnson Could Run For President In 2020, & This Could Be His Platform

Dwayne Johnson was all about congratulating his friend in a video which he captioned, “Congrats to my good bud John Cena on landing the lead role for our movie, THE JANSON DIRECTIVE…Congrats man and I’m excited to go on this journey with you.” Variety reported that the role was originally intended for Johnson, but his schedule forced him to step back. He’s clearly thrilled to be able to offer the part to someone he has so much history with.

This role sounds slightly similar to some of the action roles we’ve seen Cena in before like The Marine and The Wall, but The Janson Directive comes with the built-in appeal of the Jason Bourne connection. Variety describes this film as the story of “a former consular ops agent who, after leaving covert operations due to the high number of sanctioned serial killings, goes into business as a private security consultant. Teamed with a sharpshooter, Janson only takes assignments that he believes will lead to helping those in need."

Cena and Johnson met during their days in the WWE and wrestled twice. CBS Sports explained that their storyline then included the then-jocular element of Cena insulting Johnson over leaving wrestling for Hollywood. Since their days in the ring, they’ve maintained a friendly rivalry that most recently made its way onto late-night TV during back-to-back appearances on Jimmy Kimmel in which Johnson explained that some of their WWE animosity was, in fact, real-life bad blood.

Cena has now managed his own successful transition to Hollywood and is following in Johnson's footsteps into comedy. He appeared in the films Daddy’s Home 2, Trainwreck and most recently Blockers. He also appeared on two seasons of his former girlfriend’s reality TV show, Total Bellas, where his relationship with wrestler Nikki Bella was a major storyline.

The good news of this new film role comes at just the right time for Cena since he and Bella just recently announced their breakup. Answering a question for E! News recently about it, Cena said, “Nicole knows I love her and I miss her, but that is what it is. And I'm still here, still going — and I choose to go.”

This new movie role could be just what Cena needs to start to move on. And it sounds like it's the kind of thing that's right up his alley, but Johnson isn't leaving anything to chance. In his Instagram announcement, he also gave Cena some motivation in the way of a threat. "Thank you for your commitment to the role, and remember, as your producer, if you screw up, I’m coming to set and droppin’ the People’s Elbow on ya. And you know first hand how devastating my elbow drops can be." That would motivate anyone. No news yet on any filming dates or other casting, but with these two on board, the project is off to a great start.
