Here Are the Cookies That Best Represent Each State

$

We're all sick of talking about red states vs. blue states, so let's get some way more delicious rivalries going, shall we? This year, in honor of National Cookie Day — really! It's a thing! Hallelujah! — Nestlé Toll House was determined to get to the bottom of which cookie best represents each of the 50 states. National Cookie Day is Monday, Dec. 4, so you've still got time to bake a batch (or three) and show your state cookie pride! Ready for the fun results of the Nestlé Toll House cookie survey? Yeah, we thought so. Because there's never a bad time to talk cookies.

A lot — and we mean a lot — of states swung chocolate chip cookie, the great granddaddy of all American cookies. But it was a hotly contested debate: with nuts or without? Voting for nuts: Maryland and Colorado. But most chocolate chip states (Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Utah) reported they like their cookies nut-free, thank you very much.

Some states went rogue and voted for local flavors. Case in point: Hey, Georgia! We see you there, producing 49 percent of the country's peanuts. We're not one bit surprised you guys are all about peanut butter cookies.

Vermont, we know you love your maple syrup. No wonder your state voted for the addictive maple-pecan cookie as your representative in the House of Cookies.

There were some surprises too — delectable cookies we have yet to have the pleasure to meet. Texas and Wyoming, you bake with your cowboy boots on, don't you? We hadn't heard of the cowboy cookie until just now, but you can bet your saddle we'll be whipping up a batch soon to give them a whirl.

New Mexico, same goes for you with your droolworthy biscochito, a crispy butter cookie. Mmmmm. Yes, please.

And Massachusetts went with one of New England's fave flavors: cranberry cookies.

So be sure to check out the map and see where you live in the United Cookie States of America. In the meantime, we're going to look up the recipe for West Virginia haystacks! Or maybe Hawaii's macadamia nut cookies. Or... can we just make it National Cookie Week?

Matt Lauer Reportedly Had a ‘Secret Button’ & Sex Toys in His Office

In the little more than 24 hours since the news broke of Matt Lauer's firing from NBC, there have been multiple reports alleging what his behavior was like during his time at the major news network. But some of the most disturbing alleged details about Lauer's life in the NBC workplace and his interactions with his female coworkers come down to two seemingly inconsequential reports.

More: Matt Lauer Releases Statement on Today About His "Shame"

The first report is from Entertainment Weekly, which dutifully found a clip from Lauer's interview with former Today cohost Meredith Vieira when Lauer was a guest on her talk show. In the clip, Vieira ribs Lauer about a time while they were working together and she allegedly found a "bag of sex toys" in Lauer's office.

"I went into your office once — do you remember this? — snooping, and you had a huge bag of sex toys in your office closet," Vieira says at one point in an attempt to jog his memory. Lauer initially demurs before attempting an embarrassed explanation.

"We had a guest on the show. She was a sex therapist. And when she left, and you did the segment actually [...] she gave each of us a shopping bag of stuff," he tried to explain before Vieira exclaims, "I didn’t get a bag of stuff!"

It's unclear what the true reasons were for Lauer to have a bagful of sex toys in his office closet, and EW failed to confirm whether or not the segment Lauer was referring to resulted in each of the Today show cohosts being given toys afterward. However, it's the very casual way in which Vieira remarked about something that is an incredibly abnormal workplace detail that should be a red flag in Lauer's history.

Another red flag comes from a report from Variety, which details the fact that Lauer had a "secret button" under his desk in his office. "His office was in a secluded space, and he had a button under his desk that allowed him to lock his door from the inside without getting up," Variety reports. "This afforded him the assurance of privacy. It allowed him to welcome female employees and initiate inappropriate contact while knowing nobody could walk in on him, according to two women who were sexually harassed by Lauer."

A People report on this secret button business includes a quote from an unnamed source claiming that "Many exec offices in 30 Rock have the button. It’s an idiosyncratic thing." However, it should be noted that Lauer was never officially considered an executive during his time at NBC.

It's unclear whether either of these things are true, but if so, they are incredibly disturbing details in this increasingly disturbing story.

Boy names from Christmas classics

Take a look back at some classic holiday films for great traditional and unique boy names.

From White ChristmasBing Crosby (whose first or last name would make a cool boy's name) played Bob Wallace, while Danny Kaye played Phil Davis. Crosby's other festive classic, Holiday Inn, had Crosby playing Jim and starred Fred Astaire as Ted. From It's a Wonderful Life, Jimmy Stewart played the lovable George Bailey — or what about Clarence the angel? You could also name your son Charles — after Charles Dickens, writer of A Christmas Carol. Probably skip the "Scrooge" name idea though.

Joe Mena Says Ben Driebergen Isn't the Survivor Hero You Think He Is

$

Joe Mena is a brutally honest person. He tells it like it is. That's what happened during our one-on-one interview with him after he was voted off Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers. According to Joe, Ben is not the hero we're all seeing on the show. Instead, Joe said he was actually a "prick" and an "asshole." Plus, he explained why Chrissy was a terribly unlikable person before revealing why Lauren is a total underdog who could win this game.

SheKnows: Your elimination seemed like a pretty clean blindside. Were you genuinely surprised to be voted off or did you have any idea it was coming?

Joe Mena: I knew it was coming. The J.P. vote was what kind of made me feel it. They were so excited about finally playing the game and making a move that when they pitched it to me, I was thinking their target would be Chrissy or Ben. They mentioned J.P., and I was like, "Really? Where's this blindside?" I really pitched we go after Chrissy and Ben, but they were pretty resistant on that. That made me feel like they were gonna take me out next round. That's when I started thinking about the option to take out Devon. I was trying to work my relationship with Ryan. He finally disclosed to me he had the Idol. I was thinking about telling him to give Ben the Idol to take out Devon.

SK: After J.P. was voted off, Ben began acting like he was on the outside of the votes despite helping orchestrate the blindside. It seemed like you fell for all of it too.

JM: I was buying it. I was buying a whole lot of it. I had no idea. I underestimated the relationship he had with Lauren and Devon. Most importantly, I overestimated Devon and Lauren's game. They were decent players. I never thought they would allow someone as dangerous as Ben to be a double agent. Who does that? Why would you allow someone to have that much power? I knew I was playing with fools, but to that level I had no idea.

SK: Ben has been given an epic hero edit. Is he really the perfect hero we're seeing on TV?

JM: He's a fucking asshole! That's what Ben is [laughs]. Everything I'm saying is all in-game stuff. This is not how I feel about people afterward. In the game, Ben's an asshole. He would amplify everything regarding Cole. I was like, "Dude. Fucking relax. If you're gonna talk shit about Cole, why don't you say shit to his face? Why are you waiting until Cole disappears?" My personality, I'm in your face, and I tell you how it is. To me, that really irked me about Ben. I knew it was game play, but Ben was talking all this crap and wouldn't say it to anyone's face. He was an asshole, really cocky and overconfident. I was annoyed hearing everybody talk about he's a Marine. I don't know if he's a Marine; he could be bullshitting me. I don't care what you've done outside of this game. All I care about is who you are in this game and what you've done in the game. He's getting this hero edit, but to me he was a prick out there. I was not a fan of him. He was not a fan of mine, and the way he treated Cole was not cool. It is what it is, but he's really cocky and definitely a prick at times.

SK: Chrissy has been getting slammed by other castaways for her behavior during the game. What was your experience with Chrissy like?

JM: Chrissy did not like me. Ben did not like me. Alan did not like me. Those three players, I purposely tried to push their buttons. Internally, I was laughing and dying inside. I don't take anything personal. The problem with Chrissy, she's condescending. The second I spoke to her, I sensed it. I knew it. I'm in law enforcement. People pull rank all the time, and some people are entitled. That's what rubbed me the wrong way with her. I sensed she took things a little too personal. She crossed that line. That's just how she is. I think she has no self-awareness that people don't like her because of the stuff she says and does. Chrissy really thinks she's having a great social game. When it plays back, I don't necessarily read into the edits. In the secret scenes, though, Chrissy was legit saying, "I'm playing an amazing social game." No. She's probably playing the worst social game out of all of us, including myself. I was purposely trying to piss people off, but they still respected my game. Do I think she's an evil person? No. I think it was amplified in the game, but I just think she's entitled in her day-to-day life. She was really phony out on the island, and I can't really be around somebody trying to be someone they're not — especially when they're trying to be nice because I know you're full of shit. Chrissy wanted to be that mama role, but she was really snarky and condescending. If she wasn't condescending, then it would be cool.

SK: Do you have any hard feelings toward her today?

JM: No. It's over with. It's been left out there. We went at it, but there's no hard feelings. We don't have much in common, but we shared an amazing experience together. Chrissy, I'm sure she's great in her day-to-day life. Out on the island, it wasn't pleasant. I think it was a little more personal than it was game. Her conversations weren't genuine conversations. It just wasn't real.

Joe Mena on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Healers Vs. Hustlers
Image: CBS

SK: Did you go into the game wanting to be a villain?

JM: I didn't want to be a villain. It came out that I had to be the villain. Everyone has a lane, and I played my lane. How do I further my game without having any ties to anyone? Nobody was willing to play with me for so many reasons. The edit made it seem like I was just getting under everyone's skin, and that's why they didn't want to play with me. There were other reasons nobody wanted to play with me. One, I was a Healer. Two, I was threatening. I did know the game. But it just came to a point of how do I move further in the game? If I get enough people pissed off at me, they're going to think nobody would vote for me to win. I ran with it. The concept, initially, was thought of at the tribal swap. It came about again at the merge. I wasn't planning to do that at the merge. I had no other choice. At that point, I had to become creative.

SK: You said Lauren is playing a good game. As viewers, we haven't seen too much of Lauren's strategy until these last few episodes. What's your take on her?

JM: She's an underdog. Devon told me his final three would be Ryan and Lauren. I was like, "What?!?! You're gonna bring who?!?!" I told him Lauren would beat him like there's no tomorrow. She's got a story, and she's really frank. I get along with her because she's very similar to me. She won't give you bullshit. It may rub people the wrong way, but out there in the game where everyone's lying, you kind of just want to forget about the game a bit and have somebody who can be honest with you. As much as I rubbed people the wrong way, I provided. So did Lauren. I think her social game is stronger than is being shown. She's constantly thinking about getting to the end. Others were just thinking about getting by three days or to the family visit. I think that's what makes her a good player. She was able to make a move when it's necessary instead of just laying low. She's the one who initiated flipping the seven-way alliance.

Joe Mena on Survivor: Heroes Vs. Healers Vs. Hustlers
Image: CBS

SK: How did you get on the show?

JM: My supervisor told me I would be really good at the game. In my office, it's kind of like playing Survivor. Some people like me. Some don't. He's like, "The way that you are overall, you don't let things get to you. I think you would be good on Survivor." I was like, "I don't even watch this crap. Survivor is fake. Survivor is not real. No. I'm not watching that shit. It's whack. It's fake." But I did start watching around Heroes vs. Villains. I was like, "Hold up. This is my shit." So last summer I decided to apply and send in a video. I didn't think anything of it, and I got a phone call back. Next thing you know I was in LA for casting.

Someone Is Pretending to Be Chris Pratt & He's Not Happy About It

Late on Thursday evening, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt was forced to hop on Instagram to dispel some nasty business about a person who appears to be impersonating him on Facebook in order to hit on female fans. This is not only deeply disturbing — that someone is actively impersonating Pratt — but also pretty damn disheartening to see Pratt forced to explain at length the perils of interacting with someone who is fake, if only because it puts him in the tough spot of having to explain all of this to his fans when he wasn't expecting to do so.

More: Here's How Chris Pratt Made His Glorious Instagram Comeback

Pratt began his Instagram warning thus: "PERVY DUDE ALERT!!! (Not a joke) It’s confirmed: somebody is trying to pretend to be me on Facebook (and maybe other social media platforms) apparently hitting on a lot of different female fans, trying to get their numbers and who knows what else. I’m not joking."

Chris Pratt Imposter Warning

Chris Pratt Imposter Warning

He continued by telling fans just how problematic and dangerous this behavior is. "Please know, I find this behavior reprehensible," he wrote. "If I find out who it is I’ll have their account shut down and seriously would like to punch them right in the GD mouth. You hear that imposter!? Stop. My message to any fans who are contacted by someone claiming to be Chris Pratt: Look for the BLUE 'VERIFIED' CHECKMARK next to the name. If there is no checkmark by my name that person is an imposter. I’m sorry."

More: Has Anna Faris Already Moved on From Chris Pratt?

The moment then turned into one where Pratt was able to get real with his fans and provide them with a bit of explanation about why this fake profile opens up a gateway to a lot of online dangers. "Tell your siblings. Educate our young ones. It’s probably mostly kids who would fall for this. Makes me sick. It terrifies me to think someone could be hurt, their feelings or much worse, by this imposter/potential predator. I’ve had many, many people tell me about this. It’s not an isolated incident. If anyone is in contact with this person block them immediately."

Pratt's final warning to the person impersonating him was ominous as hell: "If it’s you doing it, I’m warning you. Stop right now or you will be very unhappy with the outcome. Go find Jesus."

More: 9 Things Chris Pratt's Done Since Announcing His Split From Anna Faris

At the time of reporting, there's no further information on the nature of the messages that this fake profile sent to female fans or how Pratt was alerted to the fake profile's existence. What we do know is that it's a lucky thing that Pratt seems to have caught wind of this himself and was able to step in to not only educate his fans but take charge of his own public image once again. Also, real talk, fake Chris Pratt: I wouldn't mess with him. He sounds like he means business.

IUDS Are About to Get Even More Expensive

$

Although they last the longest compared to other types of birth control, intrauterine devices are the most expensive form of preventative contraception. If you’re uninsured, the device and inspection procedure costs approximately $900 on average. However, that number fluctuates depending on where you live in the United States.

According to Time, IUDs are likely to get even more expensive. Health care data explains the average price of the IUD could increase to $1,000. Again, the cost varies based upon location within the country.

This isn’t a coincidence, either. Corporations are behind the effort to keep IUDs out of reach for those who need them most. Salon explains monopoly pricing prevents people from accessing IUDs since the devices cost less than a dollar to actually make.

More: What Are My IUD Options?

Although condoms are accessible and free in certain spaces, such as health centers and educational institutions, they aren’t as effective in preventing pregnancy. The American Pregnancy Association explains that penile condoms have a failure rate of about 18 percent. (Even the pill has a failure rate of 9 percent.) Meanwhile, the IUD has a 0.8 percent failure rate, making it the most successful form of birth control in preventing unplanned pregnancies. However, while IUDs are the most successful, they are the most expensive and difficult to obtain, which makes the rising cost a public health problem.

There are also other benefits to contraception other than just its primary purpose of preventing pregnancy. For instance, Metro says a recent study revealed IUDs can help reduce the risk of cervical cancer by 33 percent. The inflammatory reaction produced by the T-shaped device to prevent sperm from attaching to eggs can potentially boost a person’s immune system; the same reaction can potentially help ward off dangerous infections, such as HPV.

More: How IUDs Go Beyond Birth Control to Possibly Prevent Cervical Cancer

Plus, all health care, not just reproductive health care, is becoming even more difficult to obtain under the Trump administration. For instance, the ACA’s open enrollment period was cut in half. Americans only have until December 15th to apply for health insurance. Additionally, Reuters reports health care advertising has been cut by 90 percent, which decreases consumer awareness of important health insurance information. If there are more restrictions on obtaining health insurance, the IUD becomes more out of reach. The political climate emphasizes the need for accessible health for all.

The Ultimate Britney Spears Playlist

$

In case you forgot to mark it down on your calendars, I feel it is my civic duty to alert you to the fact that the birthday of a major pop star is happening on Dec. 2. The pop star? One Britney Jean Spears. The level of celebration required to properly fete a woman who has given us so many iconic songs and lived so colorfully in front of us all since she was a young teenager? A level too high to put any kind of value on.

Any millennial will tell you that Spears and her music was a seminal part of their lives growing up. From "...Baby One More Time" to "Toxic" to "I'm A Slave 4 U," this woman knew how to sing the hell out of a pop song. We loved her for it. We marveled at it, and now, we must celebrate these achievements on her special day.

And so I've taken the liberty of compiling the essentials for the ultimate Britney Spears playlist. Don't worry: Only the bangers have made the cut. So put on these songs, and you can't go wrong when it comes time to say, "Happy 36th birthday, Britney."

1. "Circus"

4. "I'm a Slave 4 U"

5. "If U Seek Amy"

Maybe the cheekiest Spears song around, the true meaning of "If U Seek Amy" may hit you long after the song is finished, but that doesn't mean you won't have fun listening to it when it comes on next.

6. "Womanizer"

I dare you not to sing this song at the top of your lungs. I. Dare. You.

15. "Hold It Against Me"

If you plan your vacations around locations that may get you the most likes on Instagram, there’s a new study that may have your travel plans in mind.

Instagram just released its list of the most Instagrammed cities of 2017. Unsurprisingly, the Big Apple snagged the first-place spot and was followed by Moscow and London. There were some other close contenders on the list as well.

More: 20 Times Instagram made us drool on #TacoTuesday

Here is the full list:

  1. New York, U.S.
  2. Moscow, Russia
  3. London, U.K.

  5. Paris, France
  6. Los Angeles, U.S.
  7. St. Petersburg, Russia
  8. Jakarta, Indonesia
  9. Istanbul, Turkey
  10. Barcelona, Spain

The data also contained some interesting facts on the specific locations. While New York and Paris did well as expected, their major landmarks represented as well, with Central Park and the Eiffel Tower ranking high. The Brooklyn Bridge also did very well. In fact, overall, NYC does better than any other city, as even people who are not travelers, but residents love to photograph and share the skyline, their neighborhood gems and so much more.

Instagram also revealed the top 10 most Instagrammed hotels of 2017, and the list contained some surprising destinations, but I don't think anyone was surprised to learn that Las Vegas snagged the most spots on this list.

In fact, thanks to social media, we can watch and swoon over the entire sweet saga.

He even gifted her with a homemade coupon for a day at Disneyland. Clearly, this guy is a keeper.

A Definitive Timeline of Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Relationship in 2017

Admit it: You freaking love Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. I love Markle and Harry. Everyone and their mother loves Markle and Harry. Why? Because these two are arguably one of the sweetest and most stable couples in the public eye. It's been such a joy to watch love blossom between them over the last year or so, and now that they are engaged (and getting married in May 2018!), we can't wait for that royal wedding magic to happen ASAP, y'all!

When we see them together, it's such a treat. They look so comfortable with one another, so at ease. They're always smiling or holding hands or they have their arms wrapped around each other. It's easy to see they are building a solid foundation for their relationship — which we can only hope will make the next step they take (ahem, down the aisle) a seamless transition.

But make no mistake. These two have come a long way in the development of their relationship in a fairly short time. Thinking back to the way things were in the earliest months of 2017, it's surprising to see just how far they've come. So where did Markle and Harry begin as a couple in 2017, and where are they now?

February

In February, Markle and Harry were officially spotted together for the first time while out on a date night in London. Their first paparazzi shot together helped confirm that the lovebirds were in fact dating. They were snapped while crossing the street in London, Harry leading the way and holding Markle's hand, as they left the exclusive Soho House.

March

In March, Harry brought Markle to Jamaica, where she was his date to a friend's destination wedding. Sneak paparazzi photos showed to the two at what appeared to be the reception in their best beachwear, with Markle wrapping her arms around Harry's shoulders at one point.

April

April saw Markle shut down The Tig, her successful lifestyle blog and a creative outlet for her. The conversation soon turned to what this move meant for her relationship with Harry in regards to moving out of the public eye as a blogger and actor and potentially into a more humanitarian or stately role, as was the case with the Duchess of Cambridge.

While Markle's official statement didn't indicate anything about how serious she was regarding a possible future as a royal, many believed this was her first step towards royal status: "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it’s time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun, and frivolity. You’ve made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy.”

May

In May, the two were caught on camera having a secret kiss while at one of Harry's polo matches. So cheeky — and sneaky!

Even better, while we never saw the photos, we do know that Markle was Harry's date to Pippa Middleton's wedding. Markle didn't attend the ceremony (a common English custom for weddings of this nature and not at all a rude move), but word on the street was that she did attend the private reception. Rumors also began surfacing that Harry secured permission from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, to propose to Markle.

August

August saw the couple jaunt to Africa for a luxurious vacation together. Engagement rumors hit new levels during this time (and haven't subsided since then) as many felt this kind of grand vacation would be the perfect time for Harry to pop the question. While it didn't happen, public interest in the progression of the couple's relationship only increased from there.

September

September was a big month for Markle and Harry. Early in the month, Markle landed on the October cover of Vanity Fair. In her cover issue profile, she took a moment to declare her feelings for her royal boo: "We’re a couple. We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours. But we’re happy. Personally, I love a great love story."

At the end of the month, the pair were spotted at the Invictus Games in Toronto, Markle's home away from home while she filmed Suits. Harry was there as an official part of the games themselves, but Markle was spotted with Harry at various sporting events and at the closing ceremonies in support of her sweetheart.

October

In October, news broke that Markle was very possibly leaving Suits as she and Harry made plans to move in together in London. The news sparked even more serious engagement rumors.

November

It's official — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are headed toward happily ever after by way of a royal wedding. The news was confirmed on Monday, Nov. 27 by Clarence House, which released a statement regarding the joyous occasion.

"His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle," the Twitter release read. "The wedding will take place in spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course. His Royal Highness and Ms Markle became engaged in London earlier this month. Prince Harry has informed Her Majesty The Queen and other close members of his family. Prince Harry has also sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents."

Here's Why More Women Are Affected by Asthma Than Men

Like other chronic illnesses, such as migraines and arthritis, women have a far greater chance of developing asthma than men. In fact, women are twice as likely to have the respiratory condition, which can make breathing a struggle. Now, thanks to new research out of Vanderbilt University and Johns Hopkins, we have a better idea why.

Turns out, hormones may be behind this difference in asthma diagnoses. But before you go blaming women's hormones for anything else, know that estrogen is actually not making things worse. Testosterone, it turns out, has the ability to reduce lung inflammation.

"When we started this study, we really thought that ovarian hormones would increase inflammation, more so than testosterone making it better," senior author Dawn Newcomb of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center says in a statement. "I was surprised to see that testosterone was more important in reducing inflammation."

More: Surprise — Period Hormones Don't Scramble Your Brain

So here's the deal: Prior to puberty, boys have asthma at a rate of approximately 1.5 times higher than girls. But then after puberty, once the sex hormones kick in, that trend reverses, making women twice as likely to develop the condition than men. But then, after menopause, rates of asthma in women begin to decline.

Of course, there are many factors that play into asthma, including a person's environment, exposure to allergens and contracting viral infections, but researchers now are adding hormones to that list.

For the study, Newcomb and her coauthors focused on a specific type of lung cell that makes proteins that causes inflammation and mucus production in the lungs, making it harder to breathe. After collecting and analyzing blood samples, the researchers found that people with asthma had more of this type of lung cell and that asthmatic women had more than asthmatic men.

More: Showering Before Bed Is the Right Thing to Do for Your Health

The scientists added hormones created in the ovaries — like estrogen and progesterone — to these lung cells, but didn't notice a significant change in the protein responsible for lung inflammation. But when they added testosterone, it resulted in reduced production of the asthma-causing protein.

While this helps explain the fluctuating rates of asthma between men and women before, during and after puberty, it's only one of many components contributing to asthma. And given that for many people, presence of hormones isn't something we control, it's important to take care of ourselves and limit exposure to environmental causes like secondhand smoke whenever possible.

Pregnant Chiara Ferragni Bump-Shamed for Looking ‘Too Small’

When it comes to online bullying and body-shaming, no one is safe, and as we well know, this is especially true when you’re pregnant.

During a business trip to New York, Italian blogger Chiara Ferragni proudly showed off her pregnant belly to her millions of followers on Insta. “Third time Leo is in New York,” read part of her caption, as she posed sideways in a black bra and trousers. And then came the remarks criticizing the expectant mother’s body.

“You sure there's a baby in there? This is mind-boggling,” commented oldbullleeee (interesting name choice).

“I think my stomach was even bigger than this after our Thanksgiving dinner...” wrote libbersonn@maddina.3.

Ferragni has more than 11 million followers on Instagram, and those millions still have not ceased commenting about her appearing “too thin” to be pregnant. At the time of this article, the photo had garnered more than 7,000 comments, including several from Ferragni's Italian fan base with the same body-shaming sentiments.

In October, Ferragni announced she was five months pregnant. At this point, Ferragni is somewhere in her third trimester — and according to commenters, her belly doesn't fit the mold.

Do we need to say it again? Louder for the folks in the back this time: Every woman’s body, belly, baby and how she carries her pregnancy is unique and none of them look the same.

Ferragni joins a number of celebrities and public figures who’ve attracted criticism for how much weight they’ve gained or haven’t gained while with child. In October, even Duchess Catherine of Cambridge, formerly known as Kate Middleton, was a target after a photo surfaced on the official Kensington Palace Instagram account of her looking, apparently, not quite "pregnant enough."

Here’s hoping that one day, everyone will just accept that no two bodies or pregnancies are alike and move on to spending their internet-comment energy on far more important debates. Like, you know, whether we finally have a lesbian Barbie or not.

Chrissy Teigen just had a super-fly 32nd birthday soiree. And when we say fly, we mean it — Teigen and husband John Legend quite literally built a mock airplane and airport for the exclusive '60's-themed Pan Am party.

Of course they did. It's precisely this sort of behavior one has come to expect from the effortlessly cool couple, who clearly had a ball celebrating Teigen's life "aboard" the now-defunct retro airline.

Naturally, they weren't alone, either. Teigen and Legend had plenty of famous friends to help usher in Teigen's 32nd year on this planet. Decked out in beehive hairdos and cat eyes with fake cigarettes dangling from their lips (hey, it was a different time), stars like Pretty Little Liars' Shay Mitchell and several members of the Kardashian-West-Jenner clan were in attendance.

As if you or I needed to know any more in order to lament over our lost invitations, here's a look at some of those celebrity guests partying it up in true Pan Am fashion.

Rihanna's Opinion About Casting Transgender Models Has Divided the Internet

Recently, Rihanna was put in the hot seat by a fan who asked her why she hasn’t cast a single transgender person in a Fenty Beauty advertisement — and, as expected, she had the perfect response. On Wednesday, Twitter user @lbertootero posted a screenshot of a direct conversation between him and Rihanna in which he criticized the singer for leaving out trans women from Fenty Beauty’s marketing.

On the contrary, Rihanna explained that she didn’t intentionally exclude trans women. Instead, she said she chose to cast Fenty Beauty’s advertisements free from gender identity, something she acknowledged was difficult to know and ask about in an initial meeting.

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with many gifted trans women throughout the years, but I don’t go around doing trans castings!” Rihanna wrote. “Just like I don’t do straight non-trans women castings! I respect all women, and whether they’re trans or not is none of my business! It’s personal and some trans women are more comfortable being open about it than others so I have to respect that as a woman myself!”

She also took aim at brands that exploit and use trans people as “convenient marketing tools.” She compared the marketing tactic to tokenism, something she was familiar with as a black woman.

“I don’t think it’s fair that a trans woman, or man, be used as a convenient marketing tool!” she wrote. “Too often do I see companies doing this to trans and black women alike! There’s always just that one spot in the campaign for the token ‘we look mad diverse’ girl/guy! It’s sad!”

Lady Gaga's Engagement Ring Is Not Equal to Other Engagement Rings

If Lady Gaga‘s engagement ring is an indication of anything, it’s that she’s going to host a monster of a wedding, in the best way possible. On Thursday, the singer shared a sizzling post-Thanksgiving bikini picture flaunting what appears to be a massive diamond engagement ring on that finger.

The picture — taken on a beach in Miami, where Gaga is currently on tour — shows the singer dressed in a sparkly bikini and a black gold-trimmed robe posing in the sand while flaunting her curves and a blinding rock on her ring finger. “From the woods for Thanksgiving to the beach for Tour in Miami!” Gaga captioned the shot.

And though Gaga didn’t confirm the piece of jewelry was her engagement ring, fans were quick to speculate that the bling was from her rumored fiancé, talent agent Christian Carino, to whom she has reportedly been engaged since the summer. “Engagement ring!? Congrats!!!” one fan wrote. “I see dat ring..."

According to Us Weekly, Carino popped the question to Gaga over the summer, roughly a year after the couple began dating. Now, it’s important to note that neither Gaga nor Carino has confirmed their engagement, so we should take all rumors with a grain of salt, including her ring — which can honestly just be a flashy accessory. This Minister Wants You to Pray That Prince George Is Gay

If you’re a supporter of LGBTQ rights and also a praying type, Anglican minister Very Rev. Kelvin Holdsworth, has a task for you. He wants you to pray for Prince George. More specifically, he wants you to pray that the 4-year-old prince — who is also the third in line to the throne — will end up falling in love with a man. Yep, you heard that right.

More: Prince George's & Princess Charlotte's Cutest Moments From Their Summer European Tour

Holdsworth is a prominent same-sex rights advocate and a senior member of the Scottish Episcopal Church. Earlier this year, he addressed Christians who consider themselves LGBTQ supporters in a blog post. He explained they should “pray in the privacy of their hearts (or in public if they dare) for the Lord to bless Prince George with a love, when he grows up, of a fine young gentleman. A royal wedding might sort things out remarkably easily though we might have to wait 25 years for that to happen. Who knows whether that might be sooner than things might work out by other means?”

The man does have a point.

More: Kate Middleton Shares Prince George's Nickname for the Queen

Holdsworth's prayer request was included among nine additional bullet points in a post titled, "How to change the Church of England." Holdsworth re-shared the link to his blog post on Twitter after little George’s uncle — the fifth in line to the crown — Prince Harry announced his engagement to actor Meghan Markle. This time around, though, the post is getting much more attention.

And Holdsworth’s request — or rather, his pessimism that the world might still not accept LGBTQ folks in 25 years — isn’t really that far-fetched. After all, if children are still sent to religious-focused summer camps where they're asked to “pray the gay away,” it was only a matter of time before a counter-request was offered, yes?

George, you do you — whoever "you" turns out to be. In the meantime, we sure do hope you get that police car you asked for.

Candy Cane Chocolate Cake Is the Perfect Easy Holiday Dessert

There's just something about the holiday season that makes you want to bake the perfect dessert, right? Unfortunately, our to-do lists this time of year are also jam-packed, leaving less time for baking sessions than we'd like. Luckily for you, this semi-homemade candy cane chocolate cake is easy to put together, but looks (and tastes!) like you spent all day in the kitchen. It starts with an easy boxed cake mix, but the homemade frosting and the addition of HERSHEY'S KISSES Candy Cane candies give it that special seasonal touch you desire.

Semi-homemade candy cane chocolate cake recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 (6-inch) round chocolate cakes made from boxed cake mix (according to package directions)
  • 1 bag HERSHEY’S KISSES Candy Cane candies
  • 2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Red food coloring

Directions:

To make the frosting

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar.
  2. Add vanilla, peppermint and salt and mix.
  3. Add the milk one teaspoon at a time, stopping once you have reached your desired consistency.
  4. Put half of the frosting in a separate bowl and add red food coloring to it and mix until the frosting is red. Leave the other bowl of frosting white.
  5. Place each bowl of frosting (both white and red) in separate piping bags or gallon bags.

To assemble the cake

  1. Crush or chop half of your bag of HERSHEY’S KISSES Candy Cane candies. Set it aside. Level all 4 cakes so each cake is flat on both sides.

  2. Place your first layer onto a cake stand or tray and pipe red frosting in a circle on top of the layer of cake, leaving 1/4-inch of cake unfrosted around the edge.

  3. Sprinkle 1/3 of your crushed or chopped HERSHEY'S KISSES Candy Cane candies on top of the frosted area of cake.

  4. Repeat layering, frosting and sprinkling process 2 additional times, creating 2 more cake layers.

  5. Place the final layer of cake on top and cover entire top of that layer with white frosting and smooth it with a spatula.

  6. Pipe 7 dollops of red frosting onto the outer edge of white frosting and add one HERSHEY’S KISSES Candy Cane candies on top of each dollop.

Good news, Johnny Galecki fans: Starting next year, you'll be able to get your fix of the Big Bang Theory star on the Roseanne revival, too.

While rumors have been circulating that Galecki was in talks to join the blue-collar sitcom, executive producer Whitney Cummings just laid those whispers to rest with a snapshot shared to her Instagram story showing the actor's on-set chair. She tagged Galecki in the post, also adding a praise hands emoji.

According to Entertainment Tonight, Roseanne Barr actually spilled the beans earlier in the week, gushing in a since-deleted tweet, "We have got our Johnny Galecki back on Roseanne this episode — what a joy to work with such a deeply empathetic actor. Very moving 4 all of us. #JOY."

That's right, y'all, David is back.

Of course, this (along with many of the casting announcements so far) raises some important questions. When the series' original run ended, a final shocking twist suggested the family's entire life was fabricated — Roseanne Conner (played by Barr) had apparently just written it all.

In real life, David and Darlene (Sara Gilbert) didn't exist, despite having had their first child together in the final season. That arc also revealed that Jackie (Laurie Metcalf) was a lesbian and that the family patriarch, Dan (John Goodman), was dead.

TBH, it was a lot to wrap our heads around then. Knowing Galecki and Goodman have signed on for the series' return, we're still trying to process the potential meaning of these developments.

As for Galecki's role, here's what we do know: David and Darlene will have at least two children, as Ames McNamara has been cast as 8-year-old Mark and Shameless' Emma Kenney has been cast as their teenage daughter, Harris.

It's unclear at this time whether Galecki will be a series regular or make appearances as his shooting schedule with The Big Bang Theory allows. The Roseanne reboot is slated to air sometime in 2018.

Orgasms Are Excruciating for Me — & I'm Not Alone

$

0

It was a feeling I'd never associated with sex; I'd just had an orgasm, and instead of being filled from top to toe with a rosy glow, I was in pain. I rolled over on my side, hands on my abdomen and winced. The pain — a painful cramping sensation that made me distressingly aware of my abdomen and my pelvis — was an entirely new one. I curled up in the fetal position and waited for it to dissipate, which it did after a while.

I had no idea what had just happened, and I certainly didn't expect it to happen again, but it did not long after. That was when I realized my painful orgasms were here to stay and I needed to figure out what was going on. A quick online search assured me I'm not alone. Dysorgasmia — the technical term for painful orgasms — is more common than I knew, and there are a number of causes.

To figure things out, I reached out to Dr. Leela Krishnan, a gynecologist, to ask her about the reasons for my sudden postorgasmic pain. She was sympathetic and matter-of-factly informed me that dysorgasmia tends to happen to women in the age group of 35 to 55, although men who have had prostate surgery may experience it as well. This seemed to suggest it had something to do with menopause, which she confirmed. “During menopause, estrogen levels fall, and the lowered female hormone level is a major contributor to dysorgasmia in women. The severe cramping is usually located in the abdomen, although sometimes it also occurs in the lower back and rectum.”

More: Why Having Sex Is the Worst Time to Go Into Cardiac Arrest

Menopause, however, is not the only reason for painful orgasms to occur. Medication — typically antidepressants — is another reason for dysorgasmia. I'd recently begun taking antidepressants, and I'm 40, which puts me right in the middle of that 35 to 55 age bracket. Apart from this, I also suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome, which I soon found out was another reason for painful orgasms. Depressingly, I seem to be a prime candidate for the condition.

Krishnan pointed out that there are other reasons for dysorgasmia, such as endometriosis — a painful medical condition that occurs when some of the endometrium (uterine lining cells) grow outside the uterus. They thicken and bleed along with the rest of the endometrium to cause a period, but because of their location, the blood has no place to go. This results in the formation of painful scar tissue, which leads to sufferers feeling intense pain during their periods and can also be a major cause of painful orgasms.

Pregnancy is another reason for dysorgasmia and is sometimes the first indicator of a pregnancy in some women. It is recommended that pregnant women who experience dysorgasmia consult their gynecologist just to ensure it is not a sign of a larger problem.

Another reason for painful orgasms could be the result of pelvic inflammatory disease. “This is why people who suffer from painful orgasms have to go to their gynecologists, because PID is most often caused by bacterial infections, either sexually transmitted ones like gonorrhea or chlamydia or a localized pelvic bacterial infection. These bacterial infections are easily treatable with medication,” Krishnan said.

According to Krishnan, dysorgasmia is still on the rare side, and there are no actual treatments for the condition itself; rather, the underlying causes are treated. “Until recently, it wasn't even talked about or discussed; it was relatively unknown,” she explained. “I've treated patients suffering from various reasons for dysorgasmia, although I've never had a patient complain of dysorgasmia itself. This is why it is so important for sufferers to consult a medical professional. It's important to rule out the various reasons such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, fibroids and bacterial infections of the pelvis.”

More: I Can't Have Sex — Here's Why

But Dr. David Delvin, a general practitioner and family planning specialist, disagrees, arguing that dysorgasmia is more common than people think, although he says not much is known about this condition and corroborates Krishnan's statement that the condition itself was not known about until recently.

As for treatments, well, it's not very different from the sorts of things we do to relieve cramps during our periods. Delvin recommends “a pain-killer or a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, such as ibuprofen or aspirin. Warmth in the form of a hot water bottle applied to the lower part of the tummy was also helpful. One woman whose pain was mainly in the rectal area told me that she got relief of the symptoms by inserting a 50 milligram diclofenac suppository into the rectum.”

Long-term treatments, according to Delvin, could include taking a painkiller before sex, typically two to three hours prior. Because female hormone levels fall during menopause, he has also achieved some success in putting patients on hormone replacement therapy. When in doubt, however, he recommends consulting one's own gynecologist or general physician.

Although doctors seem to be in agreement that dysorgasmia is fairly new, I found a number of questions in a number of forums, typically posted by distressed women asking if anybody else suffered postorgasmic pain. It's quite common for our discussions about sex not to cover the problems associated with sex, and sadly, this lack of transparent and frank discussion leaves many women in the cold.

More: It's Time to Start Talking About Vulvar Pain

Sex is wonderful, and everyone deserves to have great sex and wonderful, pillow-gnawing, toe-curling orgasms. If your orgasm is less than perfect, talk about it, be honest with yourself and your doctor and help end the stigma associated with frank and fair conversations about the not-so-great aspects of sex.
