Gwen Stefani's totally unfeminist attitude about makeup

$

It's no secret Gwen Stefani loves makeup -- one look at her trademark fire-engine red pout tells you that. But why does she wear a full face all day, every day? The answer might surprise you.

Gwen Stefani

Her song "Just a Girl" became the feminist hit of the '90s, but Gwen Stefani has a surprisingly old fashioned attitude towards beauty rituals. The No Doubt singer, known for her full face of makeup and trademark red lipstick, revealed the reason why she wears it: Her husband, Gavin Rossdale.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Stefani said, "I like to make my husband like me more, and he likes it when I'm wearing makeup."

"I've always been a girl who loves to dress up," she continued. "I already put my makeup on twice today: I put it on to take my kid to school, and then I went home, washed my face, and put it on again to have lunch with you."

She also said she keeps in shape not for health, but to make sure she fits into the clothing sample sizes that designers send over for her to wear.

Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga: Musicians who should share the stage >>

"I hate talking about my body [all the time]; it's ridiculous," she told the mag. "There is no secret: You just have to eat healthy, work out, and torture yourself!"

"But it's more for my brain than it is for my body… I like to wear clothes too much, so I try to keep focused."

Of course, she really doesn't care what we think about how she lives her life, so it doesn't matter. "That someone would say something untrue or bad about me doesn't bother me. It's like water off a duck's back," Stefani said. "None of that stuff matters. There's something in me, being this passive person, that those kinds of things don't upset me. I know they can say anything; they can just make something up. But what are you going to do? It's not part of my reality, so it's okay."

5 Things to Pack

Wondering how to fit everything into your diaper bag? SheKnows what you need to bring — and what to leave at home. Check out these diaper bag essentials.

Diaper bag essentials

Gone are the days where you could grab your keys and purse and then you're out the door! Once you have a child, any time you venture outside the house it becomes a big event. It requires preparation, planning and a well-packed diaper bag. Here’s what you need to achieve just that:

1

Five diapers

This is one you can’t leave home without! No parent should forget the diapers when packing a “diaper” bag. The question is how many? The number can vary depending on the events of the day and the age of your child, but five diapers is a safe number. Five might leave you with some extras, but in case of an emergency, you’re all covered.

2

Wipes

Carry a small container of wipes, and you’ll always be prepared to handle any messes. They’re perfect for cleaning bottoms and they can also be used to wipe your little one's hands and face when they get into a sticky situation! They’re also easily accessible when you need to clean up a random stain or spill.

3

Disposable bag

Always have with you a bag that you can dispose dirty diapers and wipes into. You never know how close a trashcan will be after an emergency changing, so a waste bag can contain soiled items until you get an opportunity to throw them out. Ziploc bags are a good choice. You can close them up to keep odors locked in.

4

Three binkies

Pacifiers are a diaper bag essential because they soothe and comfort babies. Take three with you because one is bound to end up on the ground. Binkies are light and take up little space, so carrying three won’t add any weight to your diaper bag.

5

Change of clothes

You’re constantly thinking about your little one while packing a diaper bag, but don’t forget to think about yourself too. Throughout the day there are going to be a few messes and your outfit may end up in the line of fire. Pack a change of clothes so that you won’t have to spend the rest of the day modeling your child’s little “accident!“

Bristol Palin hopes to "not gain weight" on DWTS

Most people lose weight on Dancing with the Stars, but Bristol Palin just hopes to not gain weight while competing on the upcoming All-Stars season.

You know how Kirstie Alley lost like 100 pounds when she was on Dancing with the Stars? That's what happens to most celebrities when they compete on the show. Not Bristol Palin: The reality star and daughter of Sarah Palin just hopes to not gain weight while doing her second stint on the show.

"My goal [is] not to gain any weight," she told People recently. "I think it's hurtful for any girl when someone's criticizing their weight on a national level. It's an awkward position."

Palin added that she's going to take the competition "as serious as I took it last time," but she won't be too upset if she's voted off.

"If I get voted off week one, then I get voted off week one. Hopefully I stick in there longer."

The mom of Tripp has a pretty good chance of making it for a few weeks, according to our expert calculations. However, she might have other stuff on her mind since loser baby daddy Levi Johnston vowed to get custody of their son after seeing how he acts on television.

Johnston told TMZ he was "disgusted" when he saw Tripp throw tantrums and use a gay slur on his mom's reality show, Life's a Tripp.

"I love my son more than anything," he added to the entertainment site. "I will do whatever it takes to make sure he is raised the right way."

Excuse us while we die laughing. Levi Johnston is the better parent? We might not be big Bristol fans, but she's probably the more responsible one of the two.

Rob Kardashian is following in his dad's footsteps

Think Rob Kardashian is going to spend his days spending reality show money? Well, probably -- but he's also going to law school, just like his dad.

Rob Kardashian is getting into the family business. No, he's not releasing a sex tape — he's going to law school to become an attorney, just like his late father Robert Kardashian.

"Going to Law School very soon and so excited and can't wait!" Rob, 25, tweeted on Monday afternoon. "School just never ends for me! #UniversityofSouthernCal #Trojans #FightOn."

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant also has a Bachelor's degree in business from the university.

It's a good thing the Kardashians are getting $40 million in their new E! deal: Tuition at USC's Gould School of Law cost $48,832 for the 2011-2012 school year — and we're sure it'll be more for the new year.

Mom Kris Jenner and sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian are probably thrilled about his future in law, too — he can save them money in legal fees, freeing up several more millions for Birkin bags and fur coats.

As for his relationship with pop singer — and Rihanna lookalike — Rita Ora: it's apparently not that big of a deal, according to her.

"It's not really a relationship. It's not that intense. He's a cool guy. We're close. We're good friends. I got his back and he's got mine," she told Complex magazine in a new interview.

Ouch, friendzoned. Double ouch: He's tweeted about being in love with her.

"You did it. I love you and you’re my wife," he tweeted when her debut single hit number one. "I LOVE MY WOMAN! I’m so proud of You!"

NBC kicked Ann Curry to the curb over gray hair?

$

Ann Curry was unceremoniously dumped from The Today Show after 15 years and given no real reason why. Was age discrimination to blame?

Ann Curry

When Ann Curry was fired from The Today Show rumors flew that Matt Lauer hated her, that the ratings had taken a dive since she took the co-anchor chair, and that Savannah Guthrie was just younger and blonder and therefore somehow more palatable to the public. One or more of those things might be true, and an interview Curry gave to Ladies Home Journal shortly before she was let go hints at it.

The story in the mag is geared towards loving your brain more than your face and being valued for what you bring to the world rather than what you look like, but Curry also drops some heavy hints that this attitude was not exactly welcomed at NBC.

See Ann Curry's emotional goodbye >>

"My mother was big on beauty," Curry told the mag. "She'd say, 'Anna, how come you look so ugly? You dress like a boy. You not sexy nothing. Anna, fix hair. You cut the hair like a boy.' She had this ancient view that a woman's value was wrapped up in her appearance. But I never bought into that pressure to be pretty."

"One day I wore a multicolored dress [on Today] and someone asked if I was trying to be Toucan Sam," she said. "But I chose it because I thought, 'This will perk up America.' I'm encouraged by my bosses to wear these ridiculously high-heel shoes because women say, 'I love your shoes!' So if it makes women happy, I'll wear them. But I'm still going to be me."

NBC president: "My heart goes out to Ann Curry" >>

"You worry, 'Am I not good enough? Am I not what people need? Am I asking the right questions?' When people say negative things or speculate, you can't help but feel hurt. I know NBC pays my salary but I have never doubted who I work for. I think about the people who watch. They're the ones who matter to me. I want to feel I haven't dropped the ball when it comes to them."

A big point of contention? Curry's gray hair.

"I've got gray hair because I won't dye it… I'm going to see how it goes. I don't know if it's going to be tolerated. I know women who work on TV haven't been allowed to go gray in the past. But I think showing some gray is authentic."

Sad. Curry makes a great point that despite marketing surveys, the real value of a woman lies in her ability to make the world a better place.

Reports: NBC to pay Ann Curry $10 million? >>

"Secretary of State Hillary Clinton took a stand recently by saying she didn't have to wear makeup, that she wanted to be herself," she said. "When someone like that says, 'This is who I am,' it gives everyone else permission to be who they are as well. And who we are is powerful, especially when we are connected to each other. I think the reason why we're not yet fully in charge in this country is not only because we're being held down, but because we're not holding one another up. Once we start holding each other up, we'll be unstoppable."

Curry is still on contract with NBC despite being canned from The Today Show and is rumored to be helping out with the network's closing coverage of the Olympics.

Gabby Douglas' mom: Shut up about my daughter's hair

Gabby Douglas is having the time of her life at the Olympics, so why are people focusing on her hair? Her mom, Natalie Hawkins, addresses the haters.

Gabby Douglas' mom, Natalie Hawkins

Gabby Douglas flipped into our hearts last week when she won two gold medals — one with her "Fab Five" teammates and the other individually. We thought she looked totally adorable. Apparently, not everyone thought so: Soon after her win, Twitter users started writing snarky comments about her hair.

"…gabby douglas gotta do something with this hair! these clips and this brown gel residue aint it!" @doscentavos wrote.

"In Olympic news, why hasn't anyone tried to fix Gabby Douglas' hair?" user @EbonyKeira added. You get the idea.

Misty May-Treanor and other Olympic athlete tattoos >>

Seriously: What is wrong with her hair? No one gets it — including Gabby and her mother, Natalie Hawkins.

"How ignorant is it of people to comment on her hair and she still has more competitions to go. Are you trying to ruin her self-confidence?" Hawkins mused to Fashionista.com. "She has to go out there and feel good about herself, and if she feels good about herself on that floor, who are you to criticize her? What have you done to help contribute to her dream, that you felt it necessary to put it out there so that she could see it."

3 Olympians who faced money problems on the way to gold >>

So what that her hair isn't "perfect," according to some. She spends most of her time practicing, after all.

"She has to keep her hair in a ponytail 28-30 hours a week," Hawkins added. "In gymnastics you’re tumbling around on your hair. You’re falling backwards on it. You’re doing 'timers' and your hair is constantly snagging on the mat, and for our hair that’s very detrimental. You’re going into foam pits—and any hair stylist will tell you that foam on African American hair is destructive."

Olympic judo champ punches drunk fan in crowd >>

Plus, who cares? She'd be just as awesome with an afro or bald. Luckily, Gabby isn't letting it get to her.

"I’m not going to make her cut her hair just to please someone else," Hawkins added.

Louisiana school bans pregnant teens

A charter school in Delhi, Louisiana, is making headlines for a controversial school policy that requires students suspected of pregnancy to take pregnancy tests — and kicks students out who test positive. Does this policy have any merit?

Teen moms? Not at this school

A charter school in Delhi, Louisiana, is making headlines for a controversial school policy that requires students suspected of pregnancy to take pregnancy tests — and kicks students out who test positive. Does this policy have any merit?

At Delhi Charter School, a K-12 school in Delhi, Louisiana, you will never see teen pregnancy in the halls. And a student daycare center? Totally unnecessary. Pregnancy pacts? Not even a possibility.

The school has taken a harsh stance on teen pregnancy. Its Policy Manual outlines how suspected student pregnancies are handled — and not tolerated. “If an administrator or teacher suspects a student is pregnant, a parent conference will be held. The school reserves the right to require any female student to take a pregnancy test to confirm whether or not the suspected student is in fact pregnant,” the policy states. It goes on to say, “If a student is determined to be pregnant and wishes to continue to attend Delhi Charter School, the student will be required to a course of home study that will be provided by the school.”

And if a student refuses the test? Well, then she is treated as pregnant and turned away from the classroom regardless.

What message is this sending?

The school’s policy, which states it is in line with the high standards of behavior expected of students at the school, singles out teen mothers at a time when they are particularly vulnerable. Education experts say this could change their lives forever.

Changing the policy

A petition on Change.org is seeking to push Delhi Charter School into changing the policy. Filed by Natasha Vianna, a Massachusetts mom who gave birth to her daughter at age 17, the policy seeks to have Delhi end the mandatory testing and also provide pregnant students with the same good education afforded all their students. "I guess the first thing that hit me was that their rights are being violated in so many ways," says Vianna. "Young women… deserve an education. We are all raising the future." Vianna, now 24, works as the Teen Parent Ambassador at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She says that what these girls really need is support — someone on their side telling them that they can do it. "I really hope that school officials will really look at this [policy]," says Vianna.

“Beyond issues of discrimination and illegality associated with policies such as the Delhi Charter School’s, such policies send clear messages to teen girls that 'you don’t matter, and you don’t belong here.' This can be a devastating blow for an already-vulnerable young woman," says education expert Celine Provini, Ph.D., editor of Education World.

This is more than likely the end of a girl's high school career, statistically speaking. "Given how they are often treated, it is not surprising that about 70 percent of teen mothers leave school. And once they leave, the odds are not good that they will complete their education. Fewer than four in 10 mothers who give birth before the age of 18 have a diploma,”  says Provini. “We know that lacking a high school diploma profoundly impacts one’s future earning power. So keeping pregnant teens in school is more important than ever. Sadly, girls who leave school due to pregnancy report that they would have stayed in school if they had received more support from the adults at school.”

Wrong answer

What do parents think? The parents we talked to said that this policy misses the mark. "I don't think shaming kids or making them wear a scarlet letter is the answer. While parenting and the setting of good values and decision making skills begins at home, continuing education and a strong support system from the school is important as well. Making someone feel ostracized, wrong, or shamed will only exacerbate the situation and lead to more problems down the road," says mom of two, Cate O’Malley who writes Sweetnicks, a blog about food and family.

Tell us

What do you think? Does this school policy fairly target teen pregnancy or is it singling out girls who need help?

Ann Romney's horse competes at the Olympics

The wife of the presidential candidate is in London cheering on her horse in the equestrian competition. If the horse stays in, Romney's VP announcement could be delayed.

Ann RomneyThe equestrian dressage competition at the London Olympics has received special attention across the pond because of Ann Romney’s horse entering the competition.

“In dressage, the horse performs a carefully choreographed routine of movements that showcases the animal's training: prancing trots, extended strides, twirling pirouettes and a move called the flying change, which looks like the horse is skipping,” said the Huffington Post.

Rafalca, co-owned by Mitt Romney’s wife Ann, entered the competition in this Olympics.

“Rafalca, the 15-year-old bay that has inspired political jokes about Mitt Romney's wealth and Republican presidential ambitions, had a solid performance Tuesday, although rider Jan Ebeling said he wished the score of 69.302 percent could have been higher,” said the Huffington Post.

The score means Rafalca will not be advancing to the individual medal competition.

Ann Romney was reportedly in the stands during the performance, sitting in the VIP section.

"It was wonderful," Ann Romney told the Huffington Post. "She was elegant and consistent again. We just love her."

The news could be an important one in the world of politics, in a roundabout way. Mitt Romney is waiting to announce his vice presidential candidate until his wife is back at his side, and with the loss at the Olympics, Ann should be headed back to the United States very soon.

The announcement is a long time coming. The Republican National Convention is only weeks away and the candidate should be announced in advance of that. If the horse had done better, it could delay the announcement by at least a few days.

Romney has said he will be announcing his candidate through an app, although the word will spread through the media quickly and it is important for him to have his wife as his side.

Ebeling told the Huffington Post he will be working with Rafalca for a few more years, and then her owners will probably try to breed her.

Baby-face Bieber slams Prince William's bald spot

When Justin Bieber slams Prince William's thinning dome a battle of balding vs. bountiful begins. Does the baby-faced boy wonder have a right to critique royalty? If karma has a sense of humor, we see a bald Bieber coming in the future!

Justin BieberJustin Bieber has slammed Prince William over his bald spot. In a low blow from music royalty to the real deal, the 18-year-old has criticized the 30-year-old for not being high maintenance enough.

On the subject of Prince William's burgeoning bald spot, Justin Bieber said during a recent interview, "I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia. I don't know why he doesn't just get those things, those products."

The teen music sensation, at a loss for understanding why the Duke of Cambridge would dare let nature take its course, continued, "You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?"

Justin Bieber cusses up a storm in first class >>

Unfortunately for Bieber, loyal fans of Prince William are lashing back, defending the future king's thinning dome. U.K. citizens "are viewing Justin Bieber's diss about Prince William's challenging hair problem in the same way you view an annoying fly buzzing around you. He needs to be swatted away," a British journalist told The Huffington Post.

"Wills and Prince Harry may joke about William's thinning hair, but that doesn't mean a kid like Justin can come sauntering in and join in the joke," they added about the royal brothers, pictured below.

Bieber slams Prince William bald spot

One Twitter user, reacting to Bieber's Prince William slam wrote Tuesday, "Justin Bieber made fun of Prince William's hair. Bieber's just mad that the Prince won't let him run his hands through his royal locks."

Another, however, is having a hard time believing the hair critique even took place. Replying to a link that included Bieber's quotes, one person tweeted, "this is so fake I don't even know what to say. Justin probably doesn't even know how to SAY propecia."

Properly quoted or not, Justin Bieber isn't the one looking good -- at least in reputation -- at this moment!

Is Bieber right to suggest fighting baldness? Or do you like Prince William just fine au naturel?

Reports: Sage Stallone was not dealing drugs

Sage Stallone was reportedly found with empty pill bottles. But he had also had dental surgery a few days before his death.

Sage StalloneAfter Sage Stallone was found dead in his home on July 13, there were rumors that the 36-year-old had been dealing drugs.

"Neither the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, which is handling the bulk of Sage's death investigation, or the LAPD has uncovered any information that would even remotely suggest that Sage was a drug dealer," a source told RadarOnline.com.

Sylvester Stallone’s son had worked for years trying to break into Hollywood as an actor and producer. He was supposed to be married just days after his death.

“They found more than 60 gigantic empty prescription bottles -- the kind stocked by pharmacists to fill consumer scripts,” TMZ reported just after Sage’s death. “Each bottle holds a minimum of 500 pills, so Sage probably had more than 30,000 pills, but they were all gone.”

But the source told RadarOnline that there was no evidence that he would be dealing drugs. And there was also no reason that he would need to.

“First of all, if Sage was dealing, why would he leave so much evidence around?” said the source. “Drug dealers just don't operate like that. Secondly, Sage didn't need the money and his inner circle of friends is adamant that he didn't drink, or use drugs."

The cause of death for Stallone has not been announced because the coroner is awaiting the return of toxicology tests. RadarOnline is saying that their source believes Stallone died of a drug overdose because of the numerous amounts of pill bottles found around the home.

"It's looking like Sage's death was caused by an accidental overdose of prescription medication,” the source said. “Sage had five teeth pulled about a week before he died and that could have been a contributing factor in his death.”

Sage’s father, Sylvester Stallone, has hired a private investigator to launch his own investigation into Sage’s death.

Gold-medal volleyball match will be American affair

With the gold-medal match a day away, it has already been determined that the United States teams will get gold and silver. But which team will win is the big question.

Beach volleyballWith a day left before the gold-medal winning match in women’s beach volleyball, the Americans know they will be getting the gold and silver at the Olympics.

That’s because both teams made it into the final match, so it’s a sure thing that the two United States women’s volleyball teams will be taking home the two top medals.

One of the teams, that of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, won the gold medal in both 2004 and 2008.

"We have a goal that we really want to accomplish and we're planning on accomplishing it," Walsh, 33, told Reuters.

"We have a goal. We want it. We see it, daily," May-Treanor added.

Walsh and May-Treanor won their match today in the semi-finals over China, securing them a spot in the final match.

The Chinese team, Xue Chen and Zhang Xi, had reportedly not been doing well during the games, but that doesn’t mean Walsh and May-Treanor had it easy.

The Chinese jumped out in the lead quickly. Just a few minutes into the game, the score was 13-7. The team knew they couldn’t fold that easily and made a hard-fought comeback.

"We've had 11 amazing years together,” Walsh told Reuters. “We've been in every single situation. That was not a fun situation to be in but we have survived it before and we did it again tonight."

The other American team won their match today too, a feat that was a long time in coming.

"In a comeback thriller, Americans April Ross and Jennifer Kessy upset 2011 world champions Brazil after losing nine straight games to the pair, Larissa Franca and Juliana Silva,” said ABC News.

The Brazilian pair was the favorite to win the gold in Beijing but Silva was injured just before the games, leaving Franca with a new partner, said ABC. This was their Olympics to redeem themselves.

The American-on-American match will take place Wednesday.

4 Things we know about Michael Phelps' girlfriend

Michael Phelps has been sporting a sexy blonde on his arm in London: Aspiring model and actress Megan Rossee. Let's find out more about her.

Hear that? It's the sound of hearts breaking, thanks to the revelation that Michael Phelps does have a girlfriend and she's hot. Megan Rossee, a cocktail waitress and model living in Los Angeles, reportedly started dating the Olympic champion in January.

Rossee was pretty much unknown before she stepped out with Phelps in London over the weekend, but we managed to figure out a few things about her.

77-year-old watches as Michael Phelps breaks her record >>

Will work for hair and makeup

The aspiring model and actress has a profile on ModemMayhem.com with several modeling shots and info about her work. Rossee writes that she's "super easy going and pretty much down for any type of project ."

Want to hire her? You don't have to pay her if "hair/makeup or wardrobe are provided." Something tells us that's going to change now.

Michael Phelps will answer to no one post-Olympics >>

She loves Twitter

Rossee loves to message her beloved "bear" on Twitter.

"idk how to direct msg u and don't wanna wake u up but just watched your swim :) good job today and can't wait to be there," she tweeted on June 26 while Phelps competed in the swimming trials in Omaha.

"@MichaelPhelps this probably will get lost in your tweets but since i cant text i miss you and cant wait to spend time with you for real xo," she added last week.

Cute, or does she just want everyone to know she's with "Phelpsie?"

Michael Phelps vs. Ryan Lochte: Who's the hotter swimmer? >>

She's 115 years old

Her ModelMayhem profile says she's 115 years old — a clever ploy, we think, since younger models are more valued over us in our twenties and thirties. In reality, she's 25 years old and measures in at 5-foot-10, 125 pounds, according to The Hollywood Gossip.

She's not a "fame seeker"

Many Phelps fans — including us — feel like she's with Phelps to up her profile in the entertainment world. Not so, says her father.

"She had a career in her own right before she ever met Michael," Wayne Rossee told RumorFix.com of his daughter. "In fact, she put things on hold to support him and go to London like he asked her to. She is not with him to be famous, she doesn’t need that from him."

At least Ryan Lochte is still single... we think.

“Moving to Los Angeles to be an actress,” she told Cosmopolitan.com. “My mom and I packed the car and just went for it.”

When she joined Pretty Little Liars, she said that she knew right away that it was the right choice for her career.

“I loved the name of the show,” Hale told the magazine. “I also trusted my gut. I just knew this would be a hit.”

The actress also shared a secret with the magazine she hasn’t talked about before.

“I’ve never really talked about this, but I would go days without eating,” Hale told Cosmopolitan.com. “Or maybe I’d have some fruit and then go to the gym for three hours. I knew I had a problem…It was a gradual process but I changed myself.”

Hale also dished on her boyfriend of only a few months, Chris Zylka. When she met him, she told the magazine she was instantly attracted.

“I was like ‘holy crap you’re gorgeous!’” she said. “It was like no one else was there. We couldn’t stop talking.”

Hale doesn’t put up with just anyone though. She said smoking is her one dealbreaker when meeting a new guy. She also can’t stand when guys aren’t straight-forward with her.

“I'm not a game player,” Hale said. “I don't understand that. Life is too short. You should be honest about how you feel.”

The actress is one of the names that has been mentioned as a potential candidate to play Ana Steele in the 50 Shades of Grey trilogy.

The Lucy Hale issue of Cosmopolitan hits newsstands Aug. 14.

Ethel Kennedy insists she did not fix up Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift has long been a fan of the Kennedy's, and they feel the same. But her new beau's grandmother insists she did not play the matchmaker.

Taylor SwiftWith the new romance between Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy, many wonder if the singer will one day be a part of one of America’s most famous and iconic families.

But Conor’s grandmother said even though she is a big fan of Swift’s, the romance wasn’t her doing.

“Ethel Kennedy says she didn't play matchmaker between a grandson and Taylor Swift but the Kennedys would be ‘lucky’ to have the pop star in the family,” said the Associated Press.

The 84-year-old widow of Senator Robert F. Kennedy had become friendly with Swift in recent months. Swift even attended the premiere of Ethel Kennedy’s new documentary and has been spending time with the family.

“She was asked… about reports that she set up the 22-year-old pop star with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy,” said the AP. “Ethel Kennedy told the Television Critics Association, ‘Certainly not.’ But the 84-year-old added, ‘We should be so lucky.’"

Rory Kennedy, Ethel’s daughter, did say that the Kennedy family has a good relationship with Swift but would not go as far as to say that Conor and the pop star were dating.

Swift has been very vocal about her admiration for the family.

"The only time in my life I have ever been starstruck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy," she said, according to the NY Daily News. "I got to spend the afternoon with Ethel a couple of weeks ago. She is one of my favorites, because you look back at the pictures of her and Bobby and they always look like they are having the most fun out of everybody.”

The relationship came as somewhat of a surprise, since just a month ago, there were rumors Swift was dating a different Kennedy: Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick.

Over the 4th of July weekend, TMZ spotted the pair taking a “private stroll along the beach.”

With the news of Swift dating Conor Kennedy, people seem to have forgotten about her weekend of cozying up to Schwarzenegger.

The film, Ethel, was directed and produced by Rory Kennedy and debuts Oct. 18 on HBO.

Dominique Moceanu: Life after the Olympics

The gold-medal gymnast is all grown up now, and couldn’t be prouder of the current U.S. team. She shares her life after the Olympics in a new book.

OlympicsDominique Moceanu was, for many, the face of the American gymnastics team in the 1996 Olympics. The gymnast was just 14 years old when she traveled to Atlanta for the games, and was a part of the “Magnificent Seven,” the first team from the United States to win gold in the gymnastics team competition.

"The Olympics is unlike any other competition you've ever been to," Moceanu told Tierney Sneed with U.S. News & World Report. "Even as a 14-year-old, I knew the magnitude and spectacle of the Olympic Games."

The chance to participate on their home turf that year was exciting for many Olympic athletes. For Moceanu, it was too. But there was also another side to it.

"There was a double-edged sword: We were competing in the United States, so there was that added pressure but there was also that added support," she told Sneed.

Moceanu went through tough times after the 1996 games. She recently released her memoir, called Off Balance. In the book, she talks about her career, her family and her coaches.

After the Olympics, Moceanu said she experimented with drugs and alcohol and eventually ran away from home.

“Her father buried much of her earnings in an ill-fated gym, and their tumultuous relationship led her to file legal emancipation when she was 17,” said Sneed.

Her coaches were Bela and Marta Karolyi, famed for bringing many athletes to the Olympics, but also their tough coaching style. Moceanu told Sneed that her training consisted of physical and emotional abuse, and when she finally left she gained 30 pounds and grew 8 inches.

Marta is the 2012 United States Team Coordinator, but because of what happened in 2008, she is not on the floor this year.

"The fact that the National Team Coordinator was not on the floor during the Olympics was huge,” said Moceanu. “In Beijing, we saw her on the floor and she was not helpful to the team."

Moceanu is moving on. She is married and is participating in gymnastics again. And of course she is watching the “Fab Five” at the London Games.

"I'm so proud of this team,” she said. “They've done such an incredible job.”

Off Balance: A Memoir was released June 12.

Zach Galifianakis likes the job, could do without the fame

Zach Galifianakis has a love-hate relationship with his job. He loves what he does for a living, but wishes people would take him more seriously.

Zach GalifianakisMost of us first met Zach Galifianakis in 2009 when he played the loveable loser Alan in The Hangover. But he has been in the industry for a long time, mostly as an underground comic but also as an actor in TV and film.

Galifianakis loves his job, but doesn’t necessarily love everything that comes along with it.

“I have a love-hate relationship with the entertainment business in general, I think,” he told Mike Ryan with the Huffington Post. “I am a bit of a baby: I like to be in movies, but the ‘being known’ part is the drag part.”

Galifianakis is also pretty sure that some of the things that come along with fame are things that no one would enjoy.

“I was happiest when I was an underground comedian,” he said. “It's just, my life was less complicated. And not being followed into airport bathrooms by 14-year-olds. Nobody would like that.”

The other part Galifianakis doesn’t like is that no one seems to take him seriously any more, when he is not doing comedy.

“It's a bit of a burden,” he told Ryan. “At my sister's wedding, years ago, I started crying. And everybody thought it was a joke. It is one of those things that people think I'm being sarcastic, but I'm not ‘on’ all of the time. I like to be sincere as much as I can.”

Galifianakis has stuck with the comedic roles though. His new film The Campaign pairs him up with another comedic actor, Will Ferrell. The two play candidates running against each other in an election. Galifianakis is the Republican on the ticket. He said he was happy with how the film was done though, that it poked fun at both parties equally.

“I don't think anybody can accuse, in quotes, ‘liberal Hollywood filmmakers,’ of picking a side here,” Galifianakis said. “We didn't want to do that. We wanted to make it broader than that.”

Even though the movie is a comedy, he feels that they brought out a bigger issue – an issue more important than either party or one election.

“It just became something bigger,” Galifianakis told Ryan. “But, to play a sympathetic Republican candidate -- I'm glad we went against the grain a little bit, as far as that goes. There are great people on both aisles, it's just the system is broken.”

The Campaign comes out this Friday.

Galifianakis is staying busy. He has three other films in the works, including The Hangover III, set to be released in 2013.

Shake up your routine

One of the best ways to ensure your sex life stays on track amid busy schedules and family responsibilities is to schedule your time between the sheets. But let’s face it -- that can get boring. To help keep sex from getting stale, we put together a few ways to keep things more interesting despite being on a schedule.

Try new things

The same old thing can get boring, even when it gets the job done. Rather than rely on all the same moves, shake things up by trying something new. This can mean a new position , reading some erotic literature, role playing or introducing toys or even a blindfold. The point is to keep your sex life from falling into a rut and make sex something you look forward to even when you’re tired or stressed out from work or other responsibilities.

Quick tip

If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to trying new things, start out by taking a shower or bubble bath together just to see where it goes. There’s no pressure, but the total change of pace might spark some new ideas.

Take turns initiating

If he’s always the one to start the ball rolling, you might want to try initiating sex more often. It can be very easy to get into the routine of one person starting things and taking control of the situation, but when you’re the one who gets things started, you can also be the one in charge. Take turns being the instigator and also the one who calls the shots in bed. This can be a great way to rev things up in the bedroom. It might feel strange at first if you’re not used to being the boss, but the more you do it, the more fun you’ll have!

Build excitement

Call at least once, or send a text or email the day of just to flirt. You’ll need to be mindful of each other’s schedules , but otherwise, make an effort to make the lead-up to sex more fun by enticing each other with little snippets of what you want to try or what you’re most looking forward to. A little bit of suggestive flirting can go a long way to get both of you much more excited about sex than when it’s just something that happens every Wednesday.
