Supernatural's Crowley Really Isn't Coming Back, & I Can't Deal

The King of Hell is no more. You read that right, Supernatural's Mark Sheppard will not be a series regular in Season 13, TVLine confirmed Wednesday.

More: Supernatural Season 12 Finale Photos Are Call for Concern

It's definitely disheartening to hear that Sheppard will not be back as a regular. He's been such a huge part of The CW series since Season 5. What makes his exit even more upsetting is that this just might mean Crowley really is dead.

The Season 12 finale killed off seven characters, including Crowley. It wasn't entirely clear if Crowley was truly dead after he sacrificed himself in an attempt to take down Lucifer and save Sam and Dean. Based on this casting news, it sure seems like he is definitely dead.

Then again, this is Supernatural, so there's always a chance that Crowley can rise from the dead at any point in time. Just because Sheppard won't be a series regular come Season 13 doesn't mean he'll never be on the series ever again. I have a feeling at some point he'll show up — or I just really hope he does, because how can there be Supernatural without Crowley?

All that said, it sounds like this is what Sheppard wants. He confirmed his departure via Instagram on Tuesday. Next to an image of a T-shirt with Crowley's face and the saying, "Even When I Lose, I Win," the actor wrote, "A 'fitting' end to season 12. I wrote this line to sum up the feeling behind the finale. Surprise, surprise, it was cut. Seems so appropriate now!"

He shared a second photo of himself wearing the T-shirt Tuesday and captioned it, "So to all my #spnfamily everywhere... my crew and my fellow storytellers... thanks for the ride. Time for something new. Even when I lose..."

11 Times Princess Leia Was the Embodiment of Resistance Goals

In my opinion, there are only a few evergreen feminist icons that deserve our constant and enthusiastic celebration. One of these icons is turning 40 today: Princess Leia. OK, well, technically, what I mean to say is that it is the 40th anniversary of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, which means we've known Princess Leia for 40 years (seeing as she was introduced to us in A New Hope).

Over the last four decades, Princess Leia has become a feminist Star Wars icon within the sci-fi and fantasy realms, and as we spend more time with her, we realize that she is every bit as tough as she is tender, a lover as much as a fighter and every inch a leader, Leia is just... So. Damn. Cool.

More: Lucasfilm Reveals Princess Leia's Future Following Carrie Fisher's Death

To celebrate this very special anniversary, I feel it's only appropriate to highlight a few of the times Princess Leia was the embodiment of resistance goals, all the times she stood up to her mostly male oppressors, subverted female stereotypes or proved that she could save herself (thank you very much!).

1. Standing up to Darth Vader in A New Hope

Darth Vader Princess Leia A New Hope

Darth Vader Princess Leia A New Hope

The sass and authority is so real, y'all. Watching Leia stand up to the real enemy without batting an eyelid is one of the biggest reasons she should be everyone's role model.

2. When Leia attempts to fight her way out of captivity

Princess Leia Somebody Has To Save

Princess Leia Somebody Has To Save

Hearing Leia exclaim, "Somebody has to save our skins!" as she grabs Luke's gun is sweet music to my ears.

3. Leia cozying up to the Ewoks

Leia And The Ewoks

Leia And The Ewoks

Leia doesn't always have to be fierce to prove she's the boss, applesauce. Her cozying up to the prickly Ewoks in order to gain their trust and their aid in the Resistance is a next-level move.

4. Killing Jabba the Hutt like a boss

Princess Leia Jabba The Hutt

Literally no words, only fist bumps across space and time for this amazing moment. Oh, and if you want to know why Leia killing her gross captor was necessary and amazing, check out this examination of the terrible implications of Slave Leia at Uproxx.

5. Telling Han Solo that she loves him

Leia Han Solo I Love You

Leia Han Solo I Love You

It's one of the most iconic lines in film history, and it's also one of the great moments of tenderness between Leia and Han. Seeing Leia's vulnerability shine through is a big deal for our tough-as-nails leader, and she's all the cooler for it.

6. Calling Han Solo seriously hilarious names to make a point

Leia Scruffy Nerf Herder

Leia Scruffy Nerf Herder

Even when she's calling Han the very silly insult "scruffy-looking nerf herder" just to make a point about doing what she says, she's fierce AF.

7. Rescuing Han Solo from the carbonite freeze

Leia Han Carbonite

Leia Han Carbonite

Because Leia can save herself and she can save the man that she loves.

8. Leia's fight with Han Solo on Hoth to protect everyone

Leia Han Fight On Hoth

Leia Han Fight On Hoth

The fight on Hoth marks a turning point in Leia and Han's relationship, but it also shows us what kind of emotional weights are constantly placed on Leia. While she's not to admit that she cares deeply for Han, it's apparent she does as she asks him to stay on Hoth. But we also see that she has to consider what's best for the Resistance army stationed at Hoth by demanding Han – a wanted man at this point — stay and fight.

9. Saving Luke Skywalker from death

Leia Saves Luke

Leia Saves Luke

Watching Leia using her twin senses to help find and save her brother (seriously, Luke, get your shit together) was so amazing.

10. Sending Rey into battle with wise words

Princess Leia Rey Hug
Image: Giphy

Leia metaphorically passed the torch of female power in the Resistance to Rey in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Of course, this was a metaphorical torch passing since she is known as General Leia and is still a primary leader of the Resistance. That said, watching her recognize another young woman who faces similarly great challenges like the ones she faced in her youth makes this moment in Leia's journey a lovely feminist moment.

11. Discovering a new hope in Rogue One

Leia Rogue One Hope

Leia Rogue One Hope

It still counts as Leia even if it's a CGI version of our favorite princess. The final — and shocking — reveal of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story involves showing Leia getting handed the plans to the Death Star. This moment immediately precedes the first moments of A New Hope, tying the whole storyline together but, more important, we get to witness Leia seeing the first glimmer of hope for destroying Darth Vader. Hell, yeah.

Bow down to Princess Leia because she is truly the embodiment of #ResistanceGoals.

6 Dog Breeds That Don't Do Well in the Water

$

If you live at the pool in the summer or love to hit the beach year-round, you probably want your doggie BFF to be able to accompany you to your favorite haunts. We're not saying that means you shouldn't adopt one of these breeds — but just know that there are certain dog breeds that aren't going to be very helpful when it comes to, say, training for an Olympic 50-meter freestyle swimming event.

It has a lot to do with body structure. You'll notice pretty much all of the pups on our list have short, stubby legs. Some dogs will sink faster than a rock, which is no laughing matter. Knowing if your pet can — or cannot — swim can help keep them safe and alive.

These breeds all make for excellent companion pets. Just make sure you keep them far, far away from deep water.

1. Pugs

Image: Rick Harris/Flickr

This adorable breed is best known for quirky snorts and a smooshed-in face — which technically makes them a brachycephalic dog. According to Pets4Homes, brachycephalic dogs have a hard time staying afloat because in order to be able to keep their nose and mouth above the waterline, they must tilt their head upwards — which leads to their back end pointing downwards and them taking on an almost vertical position in the water, causesing them to sink.

So, in essence, what makes pugs the comical canines we know and love also makes them a water-safety hazard. The short snouts can also cause shortness of breath, which hinders this breed's ability to swim laps around the pool. However, they usually love a good game of fetch, so try throwing a few tennis balls for them instead of letting them try their paws at paddling.

2. Dachshunds

Image: Soggydan Benenovitch/Flickr

Dachshunds can be taught to swim, but they'll never be strong swimmers. With wee legs barely long enough to paddle, these playful pups prefer a variety of dry-land activities, including hunting, burrowing and anything that keeps them on the go. If your dog is hot and enjoys a summer cooldown, then water-filled toys and even a quick (supervised) dip in a doggy pool no higher than his neck should do the trick.

3. Bulldogs

Image: Jim Pennucci/Flickr

Bulldogs also fall into the brachycephalic category.

Sturdy, dense and low to the ground, bulldogs definitely do better out of the water. They have turned-out, short legs, which makes paddling fast enough to support their weight a challenge. A poolside doggy bed with lots of summertime toys can provide a safer alternative for spending water time with your pooch. If your bulldog must get into the water, then make sure a helping hand and a doggy life preserver are around at all times.

4. Basset hounds

Image: patchattack/Flickr

Holding the record for the world's longest ears, the basset hound was bred for land activities like hunting and tracking. With short legs and a dense bone structure, bassets will gladly sniff out a trail so long as water is not an obstacle. They technically can swim, according to Just Basset Hounds, but they aren't very good at it. Because of the short leg factor and the fact that they carry two-thirds of their weight in the front of their bodies, they're kind of a recipe for water disaster.

For cool summer bonding time without the water hazard, try freezing healthy snacks for your basset to sniff out. This will allow your dog's natural hunting abilities to shine through while getting rewarded with a cool treat.

5. Maltese

Image: Russell James Smith/Flickr

Cute and cuddly, the Maltese feels better sitting on your lap than treading water. While this breed is fully capable of paddling, other health issues may arise from water play. Because they are prone to chills, arthritis and rheumatism, taking your Maltese on a swimming adventure could worsen these common breed concerns. But that's OK, because they're much bigger fans of warm cuddling than cold swimming.

6. French bulldogs

Bulldog rock

Bulldog rock

Unfortunately, the French bulldog is more prone to sinking than swimming. While they are smaller, they have similar body characteristics to the full-size bulldog, which means dense, barrel bodies and turned-out, short legs, all of which don't make for good swimmers. You also need to keep a sharp eye on them if they're around water, because their boisterous nature could send them running for the pool, only to find they sink like stones. Don't learn the hard way like The Rock — keep your Frenchie on a leash around deep water. If they want to cool off, chest-high puppy pools are a great alternative.

Sarah Hyland Responds to Concerns Over Weight Loss

Sarah Hyland can’t catch a break. First, she had to undergo a kidney transplant in 2012, and now, she’s been on bed rest for the past several months because of other medical issues.

On top of that, she been the target of criticism lately for allegedly “promoting anorexia” by posting photos of herself on Instagram. But here’s the thing: her illness and required bed rest means that she has lost significant muscle mass lately, causing her to be so thin.

More: Kirsten Dunst Shuts Down Sofia Coppola's Request That She Lose Weight For a Movie

In a two-part Twitter post, the Modern Family actor went public with her most recent health struggle, noting that her circumstances have put her in a place where she cannot control what her body looks like.

“Since I’m here,” she wrote, “You may wonder. Am I bothered by my appearance right now? Well it’s never fun to look in the mirror and see your hard work at the gym fade away or have your legs be the size of one’s arms.”

Hyland also explained that despite her thin body, her face is swollen because she has been on a medication (prednisone) that has both saved her life and altered her appearance.

“My self confidence is not rendered from your comments,” she wrote. “Because I will always be too fat. I will always be too skinny. I will never have enough curves to be called a woman. And I will always be a slut for wearing a push up bra.”

MoreWhat Chelsea Clinton Wants Every Young Girl to Know

The reaction to Hyland’s weight loss is part of the larger problem of not accepting women’s bodies if they don’t conform to very rigid standards. While under no circumstance is a woman permitted to carry any extra weight around (except in Kardashian-approved locations like tits and ass), she is also not supposed to be so thin that it makes people uncomfortable.

As Hyland points out, sometimes it’s beyond our control. I know this firsthand, after taking a medication caused me to gain a significant amount of weight. It’s hard enough dealing with whatever is requiring you to take medication or remain on bed rest without having to field questions from well-meaning people concerned about your “health” or strangers on the subway who yell “FAT BITCH” at you as you exit the car.

MoreNo, Miss USA, Health Care Is Not a "Privilege"

So moving forward, if we could all just keep our opinions on other people’s bodies and their shortcomings to ourselves, that would be great. Trust me: We all own mirrors and know what we look like. Telling us that we’re too fat or too skinny isn’t helping.

Rosario Dawson Speaks Out on the Death of Her 26-Year-Old Cousin

Updated May 25, 2017, 8:40 a.m. PT: Rosario Dawson has finally addressed the death of her 26-year-old cousin, whom Dawson found unresponsive in her home.

She gave her first interview since the scary incident on AOL's Build series, saying that her cousin's death taught her to "never take anything for granted" and "to constantly be working on yourself and take advantage of every moment."

"I've been dealing with a lot of loss lately and reconnecting with my family and my friends in a different way. I'm realizing how much I've pulled myself back, and I've been just really humbled by this opportunity tonight," Dawson said as she fought back tears. "They're giving me an award and it's recognizing all of the achievements and things I've done with the organization, which is amazing. And I'm humbled by those achievements, but I'm also really humbled by my failures."

She continued, "Tomorrow is not guaranteed, and you want to make sure the people that you love know that, and that you're doing things with your time that you're proud of, because it goes by so fast. It gets really easy to get caught up in the minutiae, but then you're sitting in the Girls Club and you're zooming off into the your own universe and back, and you realize, 'I can be so much bigger and so much more.' We're the only ones who are stopping ourselves from having that."

Her cousin's death also made Dawson realize it was time to start working toward some goals she has, she said.

"I'm challenging myself now, still. I want to go back to school. I want to keep growing. I want to keep learning. I want to be a better person. I want to manage my time better. I want to be more organized," she said. "I don't want to be lazy. I don't want to take anything for granted."

She continued, "Even as I'm going through a really emotional and stressful time in my life, I was so grateful to get on the plane to come here today and be here with all of you and celebrate what we have to celebrate, because that's super important. And it's too easy to kind of go down the wormhole — the rabbit hole — and think about the stuff that didn't happen. My cousin just died, Vaneza, and I'm coming up on the six-year anniversary of my grandmother's passing. And from 75 to 26, you just don't know when your time is. And I just don't want to be in any kind of position where I'm looking back going, 'I should've, could've, would've, didn't, damn!'"

Dawson called 911, but paramedics weren't able to revive Vasquez. She was transported to St. John's Medical Center in Santa Monica, where doctors pronounced her dead.

TMZ broke the news of Vasquez's death, and according to the site, a toxicology report was run and the results are still pending. According to E! News, no autopsy report has yet been released — officials decided to defer publishing it until they have more details about Vasquez's death. TMZ reported that as of now, all signs point to natural causes — Vasquez suffered from some health problems, including migraines and hypertension, and she was seeing a doctor and had been prescribed medication.

Members of Vasquez's family have spoken out about the tragedy, including her grandmother, who posted a sweet tribute to Facebook following Vasquez's death.

"This is when Danny broke down and Yoselynn held him. Then several of us walked over to huddle. I threw the blanket over us, creating a fortress to shield us from the strong winds and provide a more intimate experience as we mourned together in the very place Vaneza was the most at peace," she wrote alongside a photo of several members of the family huddled together on the beach. "Vaneza, my sweet, sweet beautiful baby - your passing has left me destroyed forever but I know you are at peace in Paradise. I love you, my alpha child."

You guys, it has been over an entire year since we fell head-over-heels in love with Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, at the 2016 American Country Music Awards. We may have thought they couldn't get any more adorable than they were on that night, when Rhett took home the award for Single Record of the Year for "Die a Happy Man," but we were totally wrong. This sweet duo just keeps growing on us.

Here's why.

1. They just adopted a baby

In fall 2016, Rhett and Akins began the process of adopting a child from Africa, and in May 2017, they finally brought their baby girl home.

"YALL... Our baby girl is hommmmeeeeee," Akins captioned a sweet set of photos on Instagram. "Thank you Jesus for bringing our family together on the same continent finally :) little cutie Willa Gray Akins came home yesterday after completely stealing our hearts in Uganda over a year ago & we're sooooo happy we just can't stand it."

2. And they have another baby cookin'

Just a couple months after their adoption announcement, they discovered that Akins was pregnant, according to People.

The couple took to Instagram in February to share the news.

"OH BABY! actually...BABIES!" Akins captioned a pic. "Our hearts are exploding with happiness for y'all to meet our new baby who we are bringing home from Africa soon who is also going to have a little brother or sister because, SURPRISE! there's a sweet baby in my belly too."

If that isn't the sweetest thing you've ever heard, we don't know what is.

3. They've known each other since first grade

thomas rhett

Just in case you didn't think this pair could get any cuter, get this: Rhett and Akins have known each other since they were around 6 years old! Ain't that a song just waiting to be written.

4. They dated when they were 15...

thomas rhett

...but they broke up. Rhett told Taste of Country that he and his wife, then Lauren Gregory, dated for six months when they were 15. Sadly, though, it didn't work out. They stayed friends and wound up dating other people. "I don’t think she really noticed me till we were 16,” Rhett said. He then added, “When I heard that she had ended her other relationship, I moved in for the kill. We kissed, and that was it.”

5. They got engaged around Christmas

thomas rhett

Rhett and Akins got engaged in December 2011. Rhett popped the question at Akins' favorite Nashville restaurant, Giovanni's. “There was a [wine] bottle, and with a silver Sharpie, I wrote, ‘Marry me?’ on the bottle, and she wrote ‘Well, duh, yes’ on the bottle,” Rhett told radio station Y108. “Somebody cued 'The Way You Look Tonight' by Frank Sinatra, and we danced in this little cigar room. It was pretty awesome.”

6. They wed in October 2012 outside of Nashville, Tennessee

thomas rhett

And yes, there's a video of their wedding. Dying.

7. Akins keeps Rhett humble

thomas rhett

Just because Rhett is a country superstar, it doesn't mean it's all about him. “I’ve even come home a lot of the time and talked about what I did on the road and what songs I’m gonna cut, and then I realized I haven’t even asked my wife how her day was,” Rhett told Taste of Country. “So I think this business can be very consuming for some people. But thank goodness that my wife is there to call me out every single time, so my head shrinks a little bit.”

8. Rhett made a YouTube video of their fairy tale

thomas rhett

thomas rhett

Well, if you watch the video, you'll see that it wasn't all a fairy tale. The pair spent a long time being friends while Rhett tried to win her over. But, in the end, love prevailed. So cute!

9. Rhett had to persuade Akins to be in his video

thomas rhett

thomas rhett

Rhett's "Die a Happy Man" video features his wife (and himself) in Hawaii, being all loved up. However, Akins wasn't super keen on being in the video at first. "It took a lot of convincing to get her to do it," Rhett told Billboard, despite the fact that she's the inspiration behind the hit song. "We were in the car, and Tim McGraw's 'Just to See You Smile' came on," Akins recalled. "I was like, 'Babe, people don't write songs like this anymore. It's so sweet — it just melts your heart. Write a song like that! About something besides whiskey, beer or taking a girl home in a big truck.'" And thus, "Die a Happy Man" was born.

How adorable is this couple?!

Returnship Programs Are the Latest Trend to Help Working Moms

$
0
0

For many companies, it is a key objective to promote gender diversity among the leadership ranks. Since many women take time out from their careers to be mothers, numerous employers have discovered returnship programs are a compelling way to bring women back to the workforce mid-career.

Companies are realizing that for women who’ve been out of the workforce, the path back is not always simple. They may feel judged for taking time off, they may be worried about age discrimination, they may feel “out of practice,” or they may feel utterly behind on technology and social media trends.

In an effort to help professionals make this transition more manageable, many employers — including PepsiCoFitch Ratings and PayPal — have begun implementing “returnship” or “return-to-work” programs. To get a better sense of how this process works, Fairygodboss spoke to Path Forward, an organization that works with works with companies on designing and implementing returnships. They gave us the scoop on how companies can benefit from taking the time to help professionals re-enter the workforce and what it takes to set up an effective program.

Here are three things employers should know about why and how they should implement return-to-work programs:

1. They help companies find, attract and retain talent. Tami Forman, executive director of Path Forward, tells us that employers often have a hard time finding the diverse talent they need to stay competitive. “And yet,” she says, “there are millions of smart, capable women who’ve taken time away from their career to focus on their families and they face a challenge restarting their careers when they are ready.”

A return-to-work internship program offers a structured, low-risk program so that managers can access a pool of talent they’d otherwise be missing out on, Forman explains. “That’s the big-picture benefit.”

Fitch Ratings’ Jessalynn Moro, managing director and analytical sponsor of Fitch’s program, couldn’t agree more. “There is an underutilized talent pool of women who, after stepping back from their career for family commitments or other personal reasons, want to get back to work and are looking for a supportive environment that sets them up for success,” she says, adding that Fitch’s program encourages talented job seekers who might otherwise feel discouraged in a job search.

Forman adds that when companies take on these kinds of initiatives, it can help boost employee morale. “Employees appreciate it, managers grow in new ways when they work on a Path Forward program, and teams get energized when driven, motivated returning workers join their ranks.”

LaFawn Bailey, global head of culture and diversity at PayPal, can attest to this: “Across PayPal, employees are enthusiastic about the Path Forward program and proud to be part of an organization that is taking a leadership role in welcoming moms into the tech workspace,” she says. “We are excited to see [Path Forward] bring programs like this to more companies and expand the opportunity for women who want to resume and advance their careers after taking a pause.”

2. The main investment for companies to participate is the cost of the returnees’ hourly salaries — yet Forman says that “the investment pays off for our partners because they generally retain a high percentage of the returnees they bring on. To date, 80 percent of graduates were retained by the company where they interned and 90 percent were employed within a few months of the program’s end.” Not bad, eh?

Of course, there’s also an investment in time for HR and hiring managers, but there are ways to make this investment more efficient. Forman’s team, for instance, will work closely with employers to offer marketing and recruitment support, as well as training on how to administer the program and enable success.

3. The returns outweigh the risks — especially if employers take the time to carefully design a program. Employers should be cognizant about what, specifically, they’re offering.

PepsiCo, for instance, has provided a “Ready to Return” program that’s open to professionals who have taken a career break for more than two years. To help ease the transition back to the workplace, Pepsi offers participants mentoring and coaching support, training to refresh skills and opportunities to network and learn about working at PepsiCo, specifically in research and development, marketing or supply chain project, depending on their expertise, skills and career aspirations.

Forman notes that while many companies are very risk-averse, the risks on a return-to-work program are not big — and the returns can be tremendous.

“That said, it helps to be thoughtful, particularly about the managers you choose to tap for this program,” she explains. “Managers who are good mentors, who are good at spotting potential, who are open to flexible work arrangements. In many companies, it’s men — particularly, interestingly, fathers of daughters — who can be the strongest advocates for this kind of program.”

Forman says Path Forward has also found that the cohort model works well for this program (for instance, having a “class” of several returnees instead of just hiring one person). “How big your class needs to be can vary by the size of the company, but the ‘just one’ programs aren’t as high impact for the company and are less supportive for the returnee. You also benefit from some economy of scale — the work involved to bring in a few people is not substantially more than to bring in one, but the return on that effort and investment is much higher,” she explains.

If you’ve been toying with the idea, the case should now be clear. By offering a returnship program, you’ll help support top talent as they re-enter the workforce — and in turn will improve your business.

If you're like me, most of your time in the sky is spent on domestic discount carriers: JetBlue, Southwest, Virgin America or — shudder — Spirit Airlines. And while these certainly get you where you're going, they do so with minimal flair and attention to your comfort (with the exception of my airline bae, JetBlue, which gives you free snacks and streams HGTV).

But Emirates, named World's Top Airline by SkyTrax World Airline Awards and Best Airline in the World by TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards, is a whole different ball game.

Normally, a pricy international flight on Emirates is reserved for the elite among us, but Emirates' Memorial Day sale is bringing prices way down, starting at $599 in economy and $2,829 in business class. It's the ideal chance to splurge for your next trip abroad, and would totally amp up the glamour of a honeymoon or other romantic getaway.

More: This Airline Is Letting Kids Fly Free This Summer

What do you get with Emirates? All passengers get access to an in-flight entertainment system with more than 2,500 channels, gourmet food and complimentary wine, along with special food and activity choices for kids.

In business class, you're basically treated like royalty, starting with the complimentary chauffeur they send to bring you to the airport, followed by lounge access at the airport and on board the plane (!!!), where you're served free wine, cocktails and snacks. Business class also has flatbed seats and cozy duvets so you can get some cozy, uninterrupted zzz's to ward off jet lag. It basically transforms flying from a stressful, exhausting experience to a fun, relaxing one that you actually look forward to.

And if you're really feeling fancy, in first class, Emirates has private suites and shower spas. As in your seat is so spacious that it's essentially its own pod-like room, and you can even take a luxe shower before disembarking all fresh and ready for the day in your destination. Who even knew such a thing was possible?

With this Emirates sale, there are more than 150 destinations to choose from, flying out of 12 U.S. gateway cities. Book a trip between August and December 2017 or January through April 2018. That's a lot of options! Just be sure to get on it, because the sale started at midnight on Thursday, May 25 and only goes through 11:59 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 31.

Once you fly Emirates, you'll wonder why every airline doesn't have showers on their planes just like Jennifer Aniston does in those (pretty hilarious) commercials.

We may be right in the middle of a trend of TV revivals, but the hardest thing about reviving even the most beloved of shows hasn't changed: getting the full cast on board.

More: 7 Gossip Girl Audition Moments That Are Must-Sees for Any Fan (VIDEO)

For Gossip Girl fans, that struggle is all too real. The hit drama, which ended four years ago, is one name that's been kicked around for a revival. But one of Gossip Girl's stars, Ed Westwick, isn't interested in a reunion.

"Nah, that's not gonna happen," Westwick, who played the ridiculously hot/ridiculously sleazy Chuck Bass, told Radio Times. "I know there's a bunch of them coming back — I hear they're doing Will and Grace, they've done Gilmore Girls... But it's such a strange thing to think about. It feels like we only just finished! And I haven't done enough in between yet to feel like I could comfortably revisit it. And I did so much with that character — it's played out, man. It's done."

Oh, wait. Westwick isn't writing it off completely, because he would do it for Netflix if there was a shit ton of money involved — "I'll do it then," he told Radio Times — but you can just insert an eye roll here.

We couldn't really picture a Gossip Girl reboot without Westwick, but we're not giving up hope just yet. In the same interview, he admitted that his career has stalled out a little bit since Gossip Girl ended: "There hasn't been the greatest amount of [script] material coming through," he said, adding that he's auditioned and been passed over for "hundreds of jobs."

You know what job wouldn't pass him over, though? The Gossip Girl reboot. Just sayin'.

Teen's Service Dog Scores His Own Yearbook Pic

Sometimes, when the news is lousy, you just need to see a dog in a yearbook.

Who's the good boy? Alpha, a 4-year-old service dog who goes to school daily with his person, Andrew "A.J." Schalk. Alpha and Schalk attend Stafford High in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Schalk has Type 1 diabetes, and Alpha can tell through smell if Schalk's blood sugar is getting too high or too low and alert Schalk — by giving him his paw. (What!? Dogs can do that? We're not worthy of these creatures.)

More: 5 medical conditions that service dogs can assist people with

“Alpha alerts me through smell, 20 to 40 minutes sooner than I know anything is wrong,” Schalk, 16, said. “He has saved my life multiple times, especially at night, when low blood sugar can be super-dangerous.”

So the amazing Alpha scored his very own pic in the 2017 yearbook.

“All they had to do was lower the camera and took the picture just like for anyone else!” Schalk said.

Cue all the paws. Er. We mean awwwwww's.

One student at the school, Diana Bloom, was so moved upon discovering Alpha's familiar face in the yearbook that she posted a quick picture of his page on Twitter.

Predictably, Twitter fell in love with the dog.

Schalk is pretty stoked that his canine friend is getting so much attention.

“Having him at school and making everyone so happy has made my disability such a positive thing for me,” he said.

Good boy, Alpha. Stay. (Definitely stay.)

The Complete Simplified Hair Color Chart for Every Shade Imaginable

$

Experimenting with cool hair colors is part of life — everyone should know what it feels like to be a redhead, if only for a fleeting moment in time, right? But finding your ideal hair shade, whether it’s cinnamon or light ash blond, may require a fair amount of trial and error. However, you can spare yourself some of the legwork by consulting a hair color chart.

To help you find the best hair color for you (aside from the one you were born with), we’ve rounded up colors in every shade and included which skin tones or eye colors they work best for.

Light Ash Blonde
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Light ash blond

The palest of blonds has hints of ash, or a whitish tint with pale green and blue undertones, and suits ladies with pale skin tones particularly well. If you’ve got rosy undertones to your skin, an ashy tone will be even better, as the green and blue undertones will neutralize the rosiness. To keep light ash blond hair from yellowing, use a purple shampoo and conditioner.

Light Blonde

Light blond

True light blond hair is the kind of blond plenty of people have when they’re younger before the hair darkens naturally. Falling right between ash and golden blonds, light blond color is ideal for complementing fair skin and hazel or blue eyes.

Light Golden Blonde

Light golden Blond

Golden blond, or the closest to yellow-blond as you can get, is ideal for light, warm skin tones and light eyes. Be sure to tone your hair regularly, as yellowish shades can very quickly turn brassy.

Medium Champagne
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Medium champagne

Skin with pink or rosy undertones works well with the beige tones of medium champagne hair. The green and blue tints in the champagne color will counteract the pink undertones of the skin.

Butterscotch

Butterscotch

A light brown with blond dimensions, butterscotch hair color works for medium, warm skin tones.

Cool Brown
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Cool brown

This medium brown hair color with cool undertones is great for girls with cool skin tones. Makes sense, right?

Light Brown

Light brown

Light brown hair typically looks fairly one-dimensional and natural and works for medium skin tones both cool and warm. It’s also a great base color if you’re looking to add blond highlights at some point.

Light Golden Brown

Light golden brown

An easy way to warm up brown hair for summer, light golden brown hair looks wonderful on warmer skin tones — or when you’re just a bit sun-kissed.

Chocolate Brown

Chocolate brown

A rich, true brown hair tone, chocolate brown works for medium and olive skin tones, as well as for those with hazel or brown eyes.

Dark golden Brown

Dark golden brown

Deeper skin tones or olive skin tones do well with a dark golden brown, which has subtle hints of a warm honey-gold in the brown color range.

Medium Ash Brown

Medium ash brown

Ideal for cool, medium skin tones with pink undertones, medium ash brown has the tints of green and blue underneath that come with ash.

Espresso

Espresso

A rich espresso brown color is gorgeous for medium and darker skin tones and darker eye colors. If you’re fair-skinned, however, espresso may look a bit unnatural on you.

Jet Black
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Jet-black

Jet-black hair is one of the most striking colors, and it typically works best on darker skin tones — unless, of course, you’re going for a real statement. In that case, lighter skin tones can make jet-black work too. Steer clear of black hair color with blue undertones, though, as it can make you look sickly, especially if you have blue undertones in your face.

Reddish Blonde
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Reddish blond

Commonly referred to as strawberry blond, this color works for warm skin tones and lighter eye colors.

Light Auburn
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Light auburn

Light auburn is the closest color to naturally red hair, and it works best on super-fair skin tones with light eye colors. If you’re dyeing your hair this color, be sure to keep your eyebrows in mind too.

Medium Auburn
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Medium auburn

A great color for light to medium skin tones, medium auburn hair is a gorgeous rich hue. As with the light auburn color, mind your eyebrows when you’re dying your hair medium auburn — a lighter copper eyebrow typically works best.

Reddish Cinnamon
Image: ImaxTree; Illustrations by Rolando Robinson

Reddish cinnamon

Reddish cinnamon hair works beautifully on cool skin tones. Be extra careful with this one, though, because it can fade quickly. Be sure to use shampoo specifically made for color-treated hair, and try to wash as little as possible to keep the color vibrant.

Sarah Lacina Is Just As Surprised She Won Survivor As You Are

Sarah Lacina is now $1 million richer. The 33-year-old police officer was crowned the champion of Survivor: Game Changers, making her the 14th woman to win the game. During SheKnows' one-on-one red carpet interview with Sarah at the finale, she revealed what she's spending the money on and explained why she had little faith the jury had voted for her to win. Plus, she dished some behind-the-scenes info on what happened in Fiji the moment after the final vote was held.

SheKnows: The final Tribal Council was filmed months ago. Waiting all this time, did you know you had won the game?

Sarah Lacina: No. I didn't. Everybody was like, "How did you not know?" You guys see how good of a game I played, but what you don't feel is the emotion that the players had to vote for me to win. I saw that first hand, so I wasn't confident. I played a great game, but people are really hurt by the way they feel I betrayed them. Luckily, it was a returning player season and they rewarded game play. If it was a newbie season, I'm not so confident I'd walk away with a win. I didn't win unanimously. I may have played the best game, but I still didn't win unanimously.

SK: What was the anticipation like waiting to hear you had won? It looked like you were going to throw up.

SL: That's exactly how I felt. I was asking for water before going on stage because I couldn't even talk about it. I had to keep clearing my throat because I was almost gonna throw up.

Sarah Lacina with Legacy Advantage on Survivor: Game Chnagers

SK: When you ran out to the audience after being declared the winner, what was the first thing you said to your loved ones?

SL: I don't think I really said much, but Wyatt [Sarah's partner] said, "You did it. You can relax now." We've stressed about this for nine months now. He was wondering how sure I was I had possibly won. One day I was like, "Oh, I won." The next day it would be like, "Nope. I didn't win."

SK: What are you going to do with the $1 million?

SL: Just boring stuff. We're probably gonna build a home and put money away for retirement. I know it's super boring because people want to hear that you're going to Vegas to double-down or something like that. I'm going back to work on Monday, so there's no time off.

SK: Was your plan all along to go to the end with Troyzan and Brad?

SL: At the final six I had solidified that's where I needed to go because I was analyzing how I could best win. Brad and Troy would have to fight for the same votes because they are friends with the same people. I think the mistake people make is they solidify things too much. You have to be willing to adapt constantly. You may make a final three deal with somebody on day one, but you have to be willing to go against that. If you're not, then you're going to make mistakes and help someone else out instead of yourself. I didn't have an absolute, locked-in final three until the top six.

SK: So what happened after that final Tribal Council wrapped? Any behind-the-scenes intel you can give us?

SL: In Cagayan, Jeff [Probst] walked off with the votes and we didn't see him. Everybody took their mics off and that was a wrap. This season, we did something really cool. We took our mics off and the whole crew with the cast had a party with champagne and pizzas. Just eating and talking to people. It was just really awesome to get to talk to everybody and celebrate.

SK: With a season known as Game Changers, what one move do you think signifies your biggest game-changing play?

SL: Getting the Legacy Advantage from Sierra, because as you saw my name had come up three times. Had I not gotten the Legacy Advantage, I would've gone home that night.

SK: Before this season started, you mentioned that Tony Vlachos was like a mentor to you. Tell us what your conversations were like before the game began.

SL: Tony is so high-strung that he would call me every day. Tony would never say, "Let's have a pre-game alliance." He would say, "This is our real life, and I'm not gonna tell you something now because I might not stick to it in the game. I'm gonna sit here and talk to you every day, but you don't have my loyalty in the game." That's just Tony. It's classic. At least I can respect that. We never got the chance to play together this season, but beforehand we would listen to all our ideas. We didn't even make an alliance, it was just a way to prepare yourself like watching film in sports.

SK: Was there any hesitation to play a second time?

SL: Yes, but Wyatt is the one who convinced me to go play. He goes, "I know you can win this game. You have to go play." My son was not even 2 at the time, and I didn't want to leave. He said, "It will be OK. It's 39 days. Go do it and come home with the money." I did it, and it's all worth it.

SK: Would you play the game again?

SL: If you ask me right now, it would be 'No.' Living for the last nine months waiting for the finale to arrive, it's mentally exhausting. People don't understand the toll it takes. So, right now, I'm not ready for it. Like everybody says they won't play again, well, we all will.

The Shocking Approach to Sex We Should Be Learning From — Yep! — Rats

$

Do you get what you want out of sex? Statistically, we can tell you that chances are, more often than not, the answer is no. A study from the Archives of Sexual Behavior found that heterosexual women experience the least orgasms of all with reports of only 65 percent of women experiencing orgasms with male partners. For lesbian women, the percentage of orgasms labeled “usually to always” with a partner jumps to 86 percent. So, do you get what you want out of sex? Compared to a man, not half as often.

Straight men report 95 percent of their sexual encounters ending in orgasm and gay men reach a similar high with 89 percent.

More: How women get "blue balls" and what it feels like

Ladies, it’s time to bridge the gap. Thanks to experiments done in the lab, the secret to more (and better!) sex might just be on the horizon. That is, if we’re willing to take some advice from our friend the rodent.

According to observations Daniel Bergner procured during lab research, rats demonstrate that the key to pleasurable sex is simpler than one may think. “Female rats do what feels good,” Bergner explains.

During sex, female rats initiate a type of “tag” in which they dart back and forth from their partner mid-pump. The idea behind this tag tactic is that female rats enjoy receiving pleasure, and since they want it to last longer, they prolong it by taking matters into their own hands.

More: Smart vibrator will send you data on your orgasms

If a partner ceases initiating sexual favors, the female rats followed and begged for more sexual interaction. So according to rats, it seems that the key is in taking the initiative. Here are three sex lessons we can learn from these scientific findings.

Only you know what you want

Your partner is never going to magically figure it out. That’s why masturbating is crucial to understanding one’s sexual preferences and needs. The better you know your own body, the better you can help your sexual partner learn about your body.

Don’t be shy to vocalize

In order to teach someone what you like in bed, you’re going to need to get vulnerable and vocalize your needs. Sure, it can be scary, but if you trust someone enough to let them do the deed with you, you shouldn’t be too shy to vocalize what it is you want, need or like.

Your orgasm is important

Let us repeat: Your orgasm is important! It is just as important as the other person’s orgasm; it is not less important. Make sure your needs are met. The first step to doing that is understanding that your needs matter.

More: When Orgasms and Sexual Arousal Give You a Headache

Put simply in human terms: Ask for what you want. Take back your orgasm, ladies, by telling your partner exactly what it is you want.

The Pope Asked Melania What She's Feeding Donald Trump

Traveling as a couple can be stressful, and the first lady and her husband aren't immune to that, five-star hotels and Secret Service and all. Just a few days into Trump's first nine-day tour abroad as president, there have been plenty of awkward situations already, including an awkward hand-swatting situation (and then a second one), the president's cringe-worthy outburst in Israel and an awkward family photo that's been memed, re-memed and memed again.

Luckily, during their visit to the Vatican, the pope — who Donald Trump has insulted in the past — was able to bring some levity to the situation when he cracked a joke to Melania Trump. When greeting the first lady, Pope Francis asked, "What are you feeding him, potica?" Melania Trump asked if he said potica or pizza, then laughed and said yes.

Brad Culpepper Is Quitting Survivor for Good

Don't expect to see Brad Culpepper on Survivor any time soon. In fact, you probably won't ever see him on the show again. After missing the $1 million prize by a few votes, Brad told SheKnows on the Survivor: Game Changers finale red carpet that he's done playing the game forever. He also said it was surprising the jury voted to reward the blood on Sarah's hands even after she had betrayed so many of them.

SheKnows: You were so close to winning the game, falling just a few votes short. How does it feel knowing you were almost there?

Brad Culpepper: I wanted to be sole Survivor. I mean, it's also a million dollars. That matters somewhat, but that wasn't my main driver. It didn't work out, but I'm in good company of near winners — including my wife. I'm not overly disappointed because it's not the end-all. There's a lot of good players that don't win. Stephen Fishbach [Season 18] is an example. Obviously, I wanted to win. I played to win. I made a last-second decision that probably cost me the game, but it is what it is.

SK: Were you surprised by the way the jury treated you? The look on your face showed visible disappointment.

BC: Every season has different juries, and I didn't expect the jury to reward the blood on Sarah's hands as a badge. It surprised me they were like, "I can't believe you lied to me. I can't believe you swore on your child. I can't believe you did all this, but great play." Had I seen Zeke play the first time, I would've known to expect that kind of [thing] from him because he's cutthroat and he respects cutthroat. I think I was expecting there to be hurt feelings toward Sarah. If I brought Tai, he hadn't hurt any feelings and he would've had a lot of goodwill. My misread was that Sarah's moves, while painful to them [the jury] when they went out, were actually rewarded later. One thing that was hard for me at that time was understanding the moves she had made. I really wasn't privy to that side of the alliance. I was assuming Cirie and Andrea were making those moves, not necessarily Sarah. As you watch things on television, it's a little bit different. You see things and you're like, "Had I known that, then maybe I could've done something else." I don't want to Monday morning quarterback. At the time, Troy and I were working together, we both thought Tai would be extremely hard to beat because of his likability.

SK: There was a moment with Tai where you were very aggressive, demanding he give you one of his Idols. Did you realize how strong you were coming across at the time?

BC: They showed the tail end of a long conversation with Tai. I was frustrated because he was just waffling. I hated the way it looked because I wasn't that way out there. Tai and I love each other, and we've communicated this whole season. We had a complicated relationship because he lost trust in us when we were in the bottom and put his name down. There were situations I was trying to work with him again, but he kept stabbing me in the back and going against me. It was frustrating. I was like, "Tai, you have two Idols now. This is a chance we can repair our relationship. Let me hold onto it and I will give it back to you." I really was gonna give it back to him even though it showed me saying I would cut him. That was late into day when I was thinking he was waffling. Survivor tends to take the worst moments and press them out there. It really wasn't as one-sided as it seemed, but I know the way it looked. That's why I stood up at the finale and said I love Tai and apologized. I am not a bully, and I'm sorry, Tai.

SK: When you weren't voted in by the fans to compete a few seasons ago on Survivor: Second Chance, did you think your shot at playing again was forever gone?

BC: Not really. I thought I'd play again. To be truthful with you, that was not a good time for me to go. I'm a lawyer with a lot of clients, and for me to promote myself to go and leave their cases for Survivor just doesn't resonate well with my clients. I really didn't promote asking fans to vote for me as if Survivor was more important than their cases. It was a difficult situation. To tell you the truth, when I didn't go, I was almost relieved that I was not going. I was hoping a new opportunity would come. That time for me would not have been great.

Kevin Spacey & Gordon Ramsay Can't Stop Swearing at Each Other

Kevin Spacey is an awesome actor with serious range. He's starred in everything from the Oscar-winning drama American Beauty to Netflix's addictive political thriller series House of Cards to comedies like Horrible Bosses 2 and Fred Claus. But I've never seen him in anything quite as baffling as this promo for Gordon Ramsay's new cooking show, The F-Word.

Apparently the "F" in the show title stands for food, family and friends, but after watching this epic curse-off between the to two stars, I'm not so sure. If you like bleeping sounds, you'll love this clip, because half of the dialogue isn't safe for TV.

Spacey starts talking about the lawyer Clarence "Fucking" Darrow (whose story appeared in Inherit the Wind and Compulsion), then transitions to a conversation about actor Henry "Fucking" Fonda (see where this is going?). He then calls the food "fucking good," to which a slightly perplexed Ramsay replies, "Of course it's gonna be fucking good!"

Gordon Ramsey Kevin Spacey The F Word

More: Nicole Kidman Threw Giada De Laurentiis Shade on Ellen, & It Was Everything

The conversation continues in a casual macho fuck-off of sorts (a phrase I never thought I would need to dream up) until they both erupt into giggles like a pair of schoolboys and Ramsay throws his hands up and admits, "Damn, I've been out-fucked!" Interesting way to phrase it, but OK, Gordon!

For a show about food, friends and family, that's a lot of F-bombs. Like, I couldn't watch this with my niece or my mom! But give me a bottle (or a box) of wine and a few friends, and then this bold new show becomes total viewing-party material.

You can catch the premiere episode of the show, which features two families embroiled in a cook-off that's judged by Ramsay and a panel of experts and celebrities, on Wednesday, May 31 on Fox. It should be a fucking good time.

There is a chance Bush could return in a guest-starring arc in order to wrap up Erin's storyline, Deadline reports. The outlet is also reporting that there is a possibility the show could cast another actress in a "new prominent female" role. Hmm... what about if they just make Tracy Spiridakos a series regular? She came on for multiple episodes at the end of Season 4 as Hailey Upton and proved that not only can she roll with intelligence, but she is one badass detective.

Don't get us wrong, no one, not even Spiridakos, can replace Bush. It's hard to imagine Chicago P.D. without Erin. She is one of the few women on the show kicking ass, taking names and showing that women can get the job done in the police force.

Granted, P.D. does have the amazing Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) and the incomparable Trudy Platt (Amy Morton), but that's it. There are only two remaining female regulars. As much as I love the men on this show, the drama better cast some more women — and stat. Without Bush, well, there really isn't much of a show in our opinion.

Furthermore, since Bush is leaving, does this mean Erin and Jay are over for good? We were already furious that P.D. broke up the two in Season 4 so Jay could figure things out after his wife, Abby, strolled back into town. No, he didn't get back together with Abby, but Jay did walk away from Erin.

Eventually, Jay realized how much of a mess he had made and even wanted to propose to Erin in the Season 4 finale. Oh, Jay, like that was going to fix things. You silly man. Their relationship was left up in the air at the season's end, so does Bush's departure mean they're over good? We really hope that's not the case, but we also can't see another solution.

Until we know the exact fate of Linstead, you can find us pulling a Bush, aka crying like it's our damn job.

Kit Harington Says What We're All Thinking About Donald Trump

Donald Trump is going to be tweeting about the "failing" Game of Thrones any second now.

Those involved with the hit HBO series (and book series) haven't been too kind to Trump as of late. In a lengthy new profile in Esquire magazine, star Kit Harington said that he "would prefer not to weigh in on American politics," but kind of did anyway.

"Mr. Donald Trump — I wouldn't call him President, I'll call him Mister," Harington said. "I think this man at the head of your country is a con artist."

He's not the only one who doesn't see the president in too fond a light. George R.R. Martin, the author behind the books that inspired the hit HBO show, compared Trump to the series' most depraved and hated leader: 13-year-old King Joffrey Baratheon.

"I think Joffrey is now the king in America," Martin told Esquire. "And he's grown up just as petulant and irrational as he was when he was 13 in the books."

That might be harsher than what Harington said, because Joffrey is unequivocally the worst.

But it was the American voters who put us all in this position, and that's kind of what we have to deal with now, Harington seemed to think. At least, that's my interpretation of his other comments about the president and who we should maybe think about voting for or against in the future.

"Thrones can be used as a metaphor way too much, but if there's one truth, I think, it's that people who really desire power are the people who shouldn't have it," he said.
