Welcome to motherhood, Sara Rue! The actress has given birth to a daughter, and she chose a name highly reminiscent of another celebrity offspring.

Sara Rue

Sara Rue had a very special Valentine's Day this year. The actress celebrated the holiday of love with her newborn baby girl!

Tweeting the news her firstborn had arrived, Sara Rue wrote Thursday,"Had the best Valentines day w/my husband & our new baby daughter Talulah!"

While the little lady's exact birthdate wasn't confirmed, the 34-year-old did share, "She was born a few days ago & we couldn't be more in love w/her."

Sara Rue heads to Malibu Country >>

Presumably, baby Talulah's last name is Price, as Sara Rue wed teacher Kevin Price in May of 2011.

Does the baby girl's name ring a bell for you? Entertainment news fans may recall that Bruce Willis and Demi Moore chose Tallulah for their third-born daughter. The youngest Ms. Willis is far from little these days, however, just having celebrated her 18th birthday on Feb. 3!

Sara Rue's baby Talulah was welcomed into a very lovely, very green home. Before giving birth, the actress, pictured above in January, told Mother Nature Network, "We tried to get as much organic stuff as we could — mattresses, cleaners. We're learning about it. I wish there was someone who could come to our house and just tell us."

Regarding that pesky pressure to slim down in a hurry post-baby, the Jenny Craig diet-plan success story explained, "I'm not going to worry about it. I'm going to worry about raising a happy, healthy baby."

Congratulations to the new parents on their baby girl's arrival!

These days, everyone's getting their own TV show. Kirstie Alley is trying her hand at another sitcom. This time, it's for TV Land, and she'll star alongside some very familiar faces.

Kirstie Alley

TV Land is all about classic comedies. Its current lineup features a who's who of TV royalty. There's Betty White, Fran Drescher, Jane Leeves, Valerie Bertinelli and many more.

Kirstie Alley, have you called HBO yet?>>

According to Zap2it, the network's adding to its roster with stars from Cheers and Seinfeld. TV Land has announced a new series, Kirstie's New Show, which will star Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, Michael Richards and Broadway's Eric Petersen.

Michael Richards' big return to TV>>

Kirstie's New Show centers on Alley's Maddie Banks, a glamourous woman with a matching lifestyle that gets turned upside down. She's shocked when her son, Arlo , whom she gave up at birth, comes looking for her.

Maddie's baby boy is all grown up and nothing like she'd imagined. He's "nerdy and schlubby." Despite her reservations, she's nudged by her driver, Frank , and assistant/best friend, Thelma , to connect with Arlo.

"This cast is a TV Land dream team of stars. Seeing them all together is truly mind-blowing," said TV Land president Larry W. Jones. "This series pick-up reaffirms our commitment to making broadcast quality original programming for a network whose brand stands for timeless entertainment."

Alley previously headlined the sitcom Veronica's Closet , which ran for three seasons on NBC. She also starred in the short-lived Showtime series Fat Actress . The comedy was loosely based on Alley's personal experiences in Hollywood as a plus-sized woman.

Kirstie's New Show couldn't have come at a better time for TV Land. It recently canceled the original series Retired at 35 after two seasons.

Work out wiser: How to avoid stress fractures

Woman in exercise class

Heading to an exercise class? Don't ignore the importance of protecting your ankles and feet while doing so. Little things like a warm-up are essential to avoiding nasty problems like stress fractures.

Protect your Feet

Before you get sweaty in Zumba or do one more kick-kick-punch combo in cardio kickboxing, there are important parts of your body that needs a little attention: your ankles and feet.

Get warmed up

Warm-ups might seem tedious, but they are absolutely essential to your health during workouts. "Concentrate on warming up the muscle groups you're planning to hit in the workout through a full range of motion. Static stretches won't do the trick here; you want moves that bring blood into your muscles and increase flexibility to keep yourself safe while you sweat," says Amy Clover, CPT, CES PN1, of Four Leaf Fitness.

Take it slow

Haven't exercised in a while? Then you'll want to take a lesson from the tortoise — as in "The Tortoise and the Hare": Slow and steady wins this race.

This technique will help you develop the right form while building some stamina.

"You'll teach your body how to do it correctly and gain strength faster than you would if you sped through your workout. Give your muscles the chance to learn; you can speed it up for more of a cardio effect as soon as you feel strong enough to do it with good form," says Clover.

Build your core

Your core muscles are incredibly important — they help you balance and sit up. The strength of your core is really important.

"In almost all movements, keeping your core tight throughout will help correct imbalances and keep you from injuring your lower back. To correctly tighten your core, pull in that area right under your belly button , then think about reaching both sets of obliques toward each other ," says Clover. "This will activate all your stabilizing core muscles, helping to protect you from an unstable spine."

Concentrate

While you are doing the slow and deliberate motions to learn the moves well, also focus on the motions to ensure that you're performing the exercises correctly. "For example, if you're doing seated cable rows, concentrate on pulling those shoulder blades together, shoulders down away from your ears and the muscles down your back engaging to bring those handles toward your sides. You'll work out safer and smarter ," says Clover.

Wipe down

OK, this may not have much to do with protecting your bones, but everything to do with protecting your health. Be sure to always wipe down the equipment as you work out. "Nasty bacteria live on sweaty benches and cardio machines," says Clover. "Make sure they don't make your skin their new home by wiping down equipment with antibacterial wipes and use a towel to cover shared surfaces when you work out ."

Top tax tips for the self-employed

Nobody likes tax time, and for the self-employed, it is even more of a nightmare. You have to know what to deduct and pony up money while everyone else seems to be getting refunds.
Fashion designer going over budget

Nobody likes tax time, and for the self-employed, it is even more of a nightmare.

Get your taxes
to work for you

You have income from multiple sources, and you’re responsible for keeping tabs on all of it — even if the client you’ve worked for doesn’t send you a 1099. You have to know what to deduct and pony up money while everyone else seems to be getting refunds.

On the flip side, you’re probably “living the dream” if you’re self-employed, so it’s a small — okay, maybe large — price to pay for that kind of professional fulfillment. You may never be excited about tax season, but here are a few tips to get you prepared for it.

Understand taxes

Self-employed people pay income tax and the self-employment tax, which is equivalent to the Social Security and Medicare taxes that are withheld from the paychecks of those working traditional jobs. In a traditional job, you would split the cost of Social Security and Medicare taxes with your employer, but as a freelancer, you must pay both portions. The good thing is that you pay taxes on your income after, or net of, expenses, which employees with W-2 status cannot do.

Know your deductions

receipts

It is critical to know what you can legitimately deduct. If you go overboard deducting too many expenses, that can raise a red flag with the IRS — possibly leading to an audit — and that could make doing taxes seem like a walk on the beach.

Get the right form

To file your annual income tax return, you will need to use the Schedule SE . You also have to file either a Schedule C or Schedule C-EZ. According to the IRS, small businesses and statutory employees with less than $5,000 in expenses may be able to file Schedule C-EZ instead of Schedule C. If you do taxes on your own, make sure you have the correct form. Check out www.irs.gov for more resources.

Use an accountant

Not using an accountant to file your taxes? You may want to consider it. With an accountant, you not only have someone to do your taxes for you, but you can glean valuable insights on deductions and how to run your business so tax time is easier. Even if the accountant does not compute your taxes, it’s wise to hire one to consult you on your individual business, whether you run a sole proprietorship, an LLC or another format.

Some cool resources

Consider quarterly payments

Because most freelancers may wind up owing the government money, they can ease the financial burden by making quarterly payments. If you haven’t done this before, you can use Form 1040-ES to see if you have to file quarterly taxes. In general, if you earn enough consistently, you can estimate how much you’ll owe and make payments quarterly .

Even if you end up overpaying, you can obtain a refund or put that money toward tax payments due the following year. Wind up not doing quarterly payments when you should and the IRS may impose a penalty — another reason to pay up earlier. It also spreads the year’s payments four ways, so it may not be as much of a drain on your bank account. Savvy freelancers put money aside as it comes in to pay taxes.

The tax process isn’t fun, but having a basic knowledge of your responsibilities — not only as a talented professional, but as a businessperson, too — can make it more bearable. Once you get things down pat, you can focus on other aspects of your business that make you feel warm and fuzzy.

New Girl drinking game: True American

True American is one of the strangest drinking games we've ever witnessed. As Jess once described it, "It's 50% drinking game, 50% life-size Candy Land." Technically, no official rules exist for this game. So, we looked around at what everyone else suggested, and this is what we've come up with.

Setup

To play the game like your friends from New Girl, you may need to do a little bit of rearranging. We think the best way to set up the "board" you'll be playing on is to arrange your furniture and pillows in an "X." For a really functional flow, we also recommend each "X" be a thin loop so it's easier to return to the center . That said, you can set up your "board" however you want, as long as there's a clear path back to the Castle.

SheKnows plays True American

There's no limit to how many people can be on each spot, though, so things could get snug.

Watch Girls? Try this drinking game!>>

The Castle

The Castle is where the alcohol lives... and it wouldn't be a drinking game without the alcohol, right? In the middle of the Castle is "the king" surrounded by "pawns" . As you answer questions and follow the path around the room, each time you come to the Castle, grab another drink. You can have no more than three drinks in your hands at once. If you get to the Castle and already have three cans, you can't move until you finish one. Once all the pawns are gone, the next person to get to the table, finish the beer in her hands and take a swig from the king is the winner.

Sometimes True American leads to kissing>>

Starting off

There are multiple ways to start off the game. You're welcome to come up with your own or just start off with shotgunning beers. The first person to finish is the knight who kicks off the game. The knight starts the game by yelling, "One, two, three, JFK!" Everyone must grab a beer from the castle and quickly retreat to any non-lava surface.

The New Girl cast playing True American

Drinking game: Drunk on Walking Dead>>

How to get to the Castle

Once everyone is on their starting point, there are three ways to advance. The knight gets to pick from any of these:

The Count: The knight can yell, "One, two, three," and then everyone must hold a number up on their forehead. If no one picks the same number as the knight, they must each move back a space for every player in the game . If someone picks the same number, that person moves ahead, and the knight moves back one space for every player who picked the same number .

Complete a quote: The knight can also choose to yell out the beginning of a famous quote and have everyone else finish it. Knight: "We've nothing to fear but..." Players: "Fear itself!" Everyone who gets the quote right moves ahead one space.

Something in common: The knight may also yell out two people, places or things. The other players must yell out the connection. If you get it right, you move forward two spots.

After each round, a new knight must be picked. We recommend you just go in alphabetical order.

An interview with our favorite True American player>>

How it ends

Zooey and Dermot on New Girl

Winning: The first person to make it to the Castle, finish the beer in her hands and then take a swig from the king is the winner.

Losing: If you fall into the molten lava, you're dead. But, if you're caught with no beer or an empty beer, you're out until you chug a beer and then can enter at the beginning, again.

You always need at least one beer in your hand, and you must drink from it. A good rule of thumb is a sip or two from the can for each new knight.

Extra rules to consider

Anytime someone finishes a beer, she yells, "All trash belongs...," and everyone else answers, "In the junkyard!" before tossing her can into the nearest receptacle. If you miss the trash can, you move back a space. If you make it, you move forward.

At any point someone can yell, "JFK!" When she does, you must shotgun your beer.

Good luck, and stay out of the lava!

About a boy: Hugh Grant welcomes second child

The actor confirmed through Twitter that his daughter now has a new baby brother — and he couldn't be more thrilled.

Hugh Grant Hugh Grant has become a daddy for the second time. The actor tweeted the news on Saturday.

"In answer to some journos, am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both to an uncool degree. They have a fab mum."

He then added two more tweets, just to get the facts straight.

"And to be crystal clear. I am the Daddy," he said, followed by "Thanks for v kind messages. Now I've confirmed ,hoping my family will be left in peace."

The new baby is reportedly a full-blooded brother of Grant's daughter. Their mom, Tinglan Hong, is something of a mystery.

"The actor and Hong had their first child in 2011, when his spokeswoman said in a statement that the baby girl was the result of a 'fleeting affair' but Grant 'could not be happier or more supportive,'" said Reuters.

It looks like the two reunited, but it's still not clear whether they are a couple. When the first child was born in 2011, Hong fought back against British tabloids, hoping to protect her child.

"Days [after the birth of their daughter], Hong won a court injunction in Britain 'prohibiting harassment' of her and the child after she said paparazzi had made her life unbearable," said Reuters. "Grant is a strident critic of Britain's tabloid newspaper culture."

Hugh Grant: Jon Stewart "correct to give me kicking">>

The actor has dated many other actresses, most the time in the public eye. Grant and Elizabeth Hurley were together for 13 years but ended their relationship in 2000. The two have stayed friends, and Grant is the godfather of Hurley’s son.

Though Grant did confirm the new birth on Twitter, he did not mention a name or anything else about his new son or how the mother is doing. However, the UK Daily Mail reports the baby's name is Felix Chang.

Congrats to Hugh Grant and family!

Her boyfriend is charged with her murder, but the South African model was set to give a speech to high school students about a past abusive relationship the day she died.

Oscar Pistorius

Reeva Steenkamp, the model who was shot dead in her boyfriend's house on Feb. 14, was reportedly supposed to give a speech on "the hardships of abusive relationships" the day she died. Steenkamp was not giving the speech about her current boyfriend, Olympian Oscar Pistorius, but a former beau.

"Reeva was set to speak to a group of teenagers at Sandown High School in South Africa... to talk about her own experience suffered at the hands of a previous boyfriend," said TMZ. "In the notes for her speech, the former model reportedly urged the school kids to ‘be brave, always see the positive' and 'make your voice heard.'"

Ex of Oscar Pistorius' girlfriend wants cold, hard justice>>

Pistorius is now charged with Steenkamp's death. According to the New York Daily News, Pistorius attempted to revive Steenkamp as she was dying.

"The panicked sprinter was giving Reeva Steenkamp mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as he held her badly bleeding body in his arms at the bottom of a staircase, a South African newspaper reported," said the Daily News.

Pistorius' family has come to his defense, but they also say they are grieving for Steenkamp. The story is a surprising one for many who were inspired by Pistorius' Olympic story.

Top 4 shocking celebrity murder trials>>

"Pistorius, 26, was dubbed the 'Blade Runner' for his carbon-fiber prostheses," said the New York Daily News. "He became the first double amputee Olympian at the London Games last year. Pistorius, who lost both legs below the knee due to a congenital defect, was a gun enthusiast who had pending firearm license requests for seven weapons."

But Pistorius' uncle, Arnold, told the newspaper the runner was happy with his girlfriend; in fact, he was "smitten" with her after only four months together.

"They had plans together, and Oscar was happier in his private life than he had been for a long time," said Arnold.

Pistorius faces his first bail hearing on Tuesday.

Tortellini, shrimp and spinach in creamy tomato sauce recipe

Serves 4

Recipe inspired by Taste of Home

Ingredients:

  • 9 ounces packaged cheese tortellini
  • 3/4 pound precooked frozen shrimp, thawed, tails removed
  • 1-1/4 cups cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup white onion, diced, divided
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced, divided
  • 1 cup packed fresh spinach, stems removed
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons plain Greek-style yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper

Directions:

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add half the diced onion and cook until it softens, 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add half the garlic, shrimp, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper and cook until the shrimp turns pink .
  3. Remove the shrimp, onion and garlic and set aside.
  4. Cook the tortellini according to package directions. When finished, drain it, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water for later. Set aside.
  5. As the tortellini is cooking, add the remaining olive oil to a large saute pan over medium heat. When hot, add the remaining onion, garlic, salt and black pepper. After 2 minutes, add the wine, cooking until it reduces by about half .
  6. Add the marinara sauce. Sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, reduce the heat to medium-low, and cook 8-10 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  7. Add the shrimp, tortellini, spinach, Parmesan cheese, and yogurt to the marinara sauce and mix well. If you need to thin the sauce a bit, add some of the reserved pasta water, adding and mixing it, a little at a time. Season to taste.
  8. Serve warm.

Serve up this pasta dish with a light, creamy sauce!

How much social media is too much?

So, your child has a Facebook account, but now she wants Twitter, too. That's not enough — her friends pin their favorite everything on Pinterest, and just have to click Instagram photos, too. What's a mom to do? Figure out how much social media is too much for your child, while keeping your head on straight.
Young teen on computer

So, your child has a Facebook account, but now she wants Twitter, too. That's not enough — her friends pin their favorite everything on Pinterest and just have to click Instagram photos, too. What's a mom to do?

Tweets, pins and pics,
oh my!

Figuring out how much social media is too much for your child, while keeping your head on straight, isn't easy.

There's a lot of information on the web as far as internet safety, but what about time management? Once you decide which social media site your child will have access to — and create their privacy settings while reminding them that nothing in a post on the internet ever goes away — it's time to decide how much time they're allowed to spend on social media.

Learnhow to monitor your child's online activities >>

Setting limits

There are only so many hours in a day! Social media time shouldn't take up all of your child's time, but it's really easy to get carried away — not just kids, but parents, too. Forget about having multiple social media accounts — when my son had a Facebook account, I spent a lot of time checking his page and worrying about what "friends" may be posting or messaging, and it was starting to drive me crazy.

"As parents, it’s our job to help our kids set healthy habits for electronics use and that starts by establishing when it’s acceptable to use electronics, regardless of how many email accounts, social media profiles, video games or chat groups they participate in," says technology expert Andrea Eldridge.

Partnering with your kids

"It’s important that teenagers be given the reasons behind your choices, not just arbitrary rules," says Eldridge. "Reducing distractions to improve school work and allow family together time are great reasons to limit overall electronics use. If, for example, the house rule is no more than two hours a day spent with leisure electronics activities, your teen’s choice to spend those two hours playing Wii is theirs to make — it just means they won’t have time to update their Facebook status about it. Some parents have found success with a system to earn additional screen time through chore completion, reading or physical activities which would allow a kid that got carried away and used up their time to 'buy' a few extra minutes."

Saying "no" to social media is OK

Bottom line? If your child is new to social media, start slowly — choose just one form of social media at first. Maybe set them up with a basic Facebook page with privacy settings intact. Or try pinning a favorite recipe or craft project on Pinterest together, making social media a family activity.

If your child is spending way too much time on social media, don't be afraid to deactivate their accounts, even for a short time. I deactivated my son's Facebook nearly one year ago and he hasn't asked to reinstate it yet. He's fine with texting, and I'm less stressed out about social media use.

These crunchy and gooey sandwiches are French inspired, featuring melty Brie cheese, crispy French bread, jambon and a spicy Grey Poupon!

Yields 10 sandwiches

Ingredients:

  • 10 slices French bread
  • 1/3 pound ham, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 pound Brie
  • 2 cups mixed greens
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • About 1/4 cup Grey Poupon mustard
  • Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut the Brie into pieces large enough to fit over the French bread slices. Place a slice of ham on each slice of bread. Add about a teaspoon of Grey Poupon over the ham and then cover it with Brie. Add a dash of salt and pepper.
  3. Bake ham and Brie for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bread is crispy.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare onions by melting the butter in a large skillet. Add onions and cook on medium heat until soft and caramelized, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  5. Top the melted cheese with a handful of mixed greens. Top the greens with caramelized onions and serve.

Curried shrimp cups

Curried shrimp cups recipe

These slightly spicy Indian cups are inspired by the main character in Life of Pi, Piscine Molitor "Pi"Patel's heritage. We thought this was more palatable then rice crackers and raw fish.

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, chopped into pieces
  • 4 ounces store-bought butter chicken sauce
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • Dash of salt
  • 15 mini phyllo cups
  • Chives for garnish

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the shrimp, butter chicken sauce, curry powder, crushed red pepper and salt. Scoop about one teaspoon of filling into each phyllo cup and garnish with chives or fresh greens.

Spicy corn & peach canned tomato salsa

Spicy corn & peach canned tomato salsa

Django Unchained takes place in the American Antebellum South, so we whipped up a Southern classic, peach salsa, and added some corn and canned tomatoes for that restaurant quality taste.

Yields about 3 cups

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans diced tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2/3 cup corn kernels
  • 1 medium peach, chopped into pieces
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • Dash of salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder

Directions:

  1. Strain tomatoes and reserve juice. Add chopped onions and garlic to a food processor. Add juice from tomatoes, lime, salt, pepper and chipotle powder and pulse on low for about 30 seconds.
  2. Add about 1/2 cup diced tomatoes and pulse for about 5 seconds. Add remaining tomatoes and 1/2 the peaches and pulse until thick. Stir in remaining peaches and corn and serve immediately.

No more Asperger's: What it means for your child

When the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is published in 2013, it will no longer list Asperger's syndrome as a diagnosis. Asperger’s will be lumped together with the Autism Spectrum Disorder. If your child has Asperger's, what will this change mean for her care?
Will your child get the help he needs?
Child with Aspberger's Syndrome

What will this change mean?

When the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is published in 2013, it will no longer list Asperger's syndrome as a diagnosis.

Asperger’s will be lumped together with the Autism Spectrum Disorder. If your child has Asperger's, what will this change mean for his care?

What will happen to services my child may need?

"These concerns are entirely understandable," says Alycia Halladay, Ph.D., Autism Speaks senior director, environmental and clinical sciences. "Under the most current criteria, the label of 'Asperger's' will no longer be used in the DSM-5. However, those who were previously diagnosed with Asperger's will now be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder . They should not 'lose' their recognition for need for services. The new DSM-5 criteria will include a category to provide more specific information on verbal ability and intellectual function which is intended to improve the type and scope of interventions that individuals with ASD receive. Therefore, those who currently have an Asperger's diagnosis and received services should not lose access to previously accessed interventions."

10 things you should know about autism>>

What about losing their identities?

Even if your child continues to receive therapy or other special services she currently gets, when the Asperger's diagnosis disappears, what will she call herself?

Sarah Blake, LCSW, provides psychotherapy to patients on the spectrum, and is also mom to a son with Asperger's. She explains, "Individuals with Asperger's, and the people who love them, have given themselves a pet name, 'Aspies' and have worked hard to create for themselves a loving community online and in the real world — and the DSM work group thinks that none of this is important enough to keep their name alive. They have a community now, but in May, they no longer exist."

Does the name matter that much?

Whether you love or hate labels, for many people with Asperger's, having a name helps them be included and valued for who they are.

"I cannot even begin to express the relief on Austin's face when the therapist told him he had Asperger's," says Tracie M., a former special education teacher and 11-year-old Austin's mom. "His exact words? 'I always wondered why I was so different.' Having that label gave him something to hold on to, something to tell him that he wasn't 'weird' as the kids at school told him. It really helped him to know that his brain is wired in a unique way and that it was OK. That one little label gave us a way to help him."

There's more to come

"This change in the DSM is definitely going to be a journey in patience for all involved as we watch how it will ultimately play out," Tracie says. "My best advice for other parents would be to continue on as always, advocate for your child, and keep your mind open. Change is hard, but how we respond to that change is what will facilitate if we are successful or not in our endeavors."

Alec Baldwin denies racist rant

Alec Baldwin is under fire today after a photographer accused him of a racist rant — but the actor says he is the real victim.

Alec Baldwin

Sounds like Alec Baldwin's famously bad temper has gotten the best of him again. The 30 Rock actor stands accused of throwing racial slurs at a New York Post photographer — but the dad-to-be claims he is the real victim.

The incident went down when Baldwin was approached by a Post reporter while walking his dogs yesterday, asking for comment about a lawsuit filed against his pregnant wife Hilaria.

According to a police report, Baldwin grabbed the reporter by the arm and said, "I want you to choke to death," a wish that was caught on tape.

Baldwin then allegedly called Post staff photographer and retired NYPD detective G.N. Miller a "coon, a drug dealer," according to the police report, and accused him of being a "crackhead" who "just got out of jail."

"He was saying some serious racist stuff," Miller told the Post. "He said some choice words about my mother, and he was telling people in the street that I'm a drug dealer.

Alec Baldwin's daughter says he's not really a jerk>>

"He could have said a lot of other stuff. But he used all of the stereotypes associated with black people."

Baldwin ranted about the exchange on Twitter, his favorite venue for defending himself against the media, in a series of posts that have since been deleted.

"Thank u 2 NYPD officers who came to my home 2day so that I could file a formal complaint against NY Post 'photographer' who assaulted me," he tweeted.

Inexplicably referring to Miller as "Ralston," he wrote, "Moments after I tweet about the Post, Ralston, the ex-crackhead 'photographer' shows up at my door w 1 of Murdoch's nieces in tow." [Rupert Murdoch owns the New York Post.]

Alec Baldwin was "extremely rude" and "offensive" says airline>>

"Ralston claims he's ex NYPD!! That can't be!!! Ex NYPD don't become crackhead, ex jailhouse paparazzi!"

Both men accuse each other of getting physical and filed police reports.

Baldwin denied the charges of racism through his rep Matthew Hiltzik, who said, "That's one of the most outrageous things I've heard in my life."

This is far from the first time Baldwin has had a run-in with the press. He allegedly punched a paparazzo last July while he and Hilaria were registering for their marriage license.

Sarah Michelle Gellar gets another shot at television

Look out, Sarah Michelle Gellar fans, because your girl might be back on TV. CBS orders a pilot of a new comedy with Robin Williams.

Sarah Michelle Gellar with daughter Charlotte

Buffy's back on TV! Well, sorta: She's shooting a pedigreed pilot for CBS.

"The Crazy Ones," reports TV Guide, stars comedian Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar as a father-daughter team heading an advertising agency. Her character is "pretty, intense, driven, organized and burdened with being practical," reports TV Guide.

"The Crazy Ones" is being written by David E. Kelley .

Gellar gave a TV comeback the old college try with 2011's Ringer on the CW, but the show failed to catch fire despite its twisty premise of good/evil twins both played by Gellar, who hasn't had a television hit since Buffy the Vampire Slayer ended its run in 2003.

Since Gellar was both star and co-producer on the series, she took a hit from Ringer's cancellation.

On the bright side, Gellar gave birth to her second child, son Rocky James, in September, joining daughter Charlotte Grace, born in 2009. Ringer finished up at the end of September, too, just a few weeks after Rocky was born. Gellar hasn't been seen on-screen since, though some voice work she's done for The Simpsons, American Dad and Robot Chicken has aired.

Sarah Michelle Gellar: I don't weigh myself>>

If the CBS pilot gets picked up, it will mark a return for Robin Williams as well. He hasn't been on television regularly since Mork & Mindy back in the 1980s, though he did show up in a memorable guest role on Louie last year, as himself, with big white whiskers, because of course, everyone "knows that whenever Robin Williams plays a serious role, he sports a beard," wrote Slate's Louie recapper hilariously.

On the episode "Barney/Never," Williams showed up at the same funeral as Louie, and then Louie and Williams went to lunch and a strip club.

He was funny, too. Will he be funny on "The Crazy Ones?" Guess we'll have to see. Or not, because if CBS doesn't order a series, we'll never see it.

"The Crazy Ones" as a title doesn't bode well, but the pilot is being directed by Jason Winer, who was responsible for the commendable Modern Family pilot, as well as most of the eps from the show's first season, when it was really good. So maybe this has a shot. Let's cross things!

Would you like to see Gellar in a comedy as opposed to a drama? Has she got the chops?

Up All Night reboot: Possible but unlikely

Is Up All Night turning in for good? It looks like it.

Is Up All Night ending?Last week Christina Applegate announced she'd be leaving her show, Up All Night. Now it looks like her departure might not be the only thing that could end up costing a lot of people their jobs.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, after her departure announcement, NBC set to work on an Up All Night reboot. They wanted the show to go on without Applegate. While Up All Night has never properly flourished on the network, it had a decent following of fans. While no descriptor of the reboot can be found, others have mentioned possibly just replacing Applegate with a new actress. We thought it would be pretty cool to rework the show as if Reagan left her hubby and little girl. It'd be interesting to see Arnett play the part of a single dad and it would also leave it open to Reagan coming back What was originally supposed to be a four-episode reboot has now been cut back to a lone episode. That doesn't look good for the people who work on Up All Night.

Anchorman 2 scores Wiig, Applegate and all the other big names it needs>>

So why the sudden change of plans? While Christina Applegate was certainly one name that drew a lot of attention to the show, she wasn't the only star on the cast. However, Maya Rudolph recently announced she's pregnant with her fourth child. While execs and writers are capable of writing a new baby into the storyline, they may not want to... or Rudolph might also hope to leave the show behind.

Maya Rudolph is preggo>>

Meanwhile, Will Arnett is currently being courted by — among others — CBS to star in a new comedy on that competing network. Given the right deal and the right script, we could see Arnett willingly leaving Up All Night behind, too.

Up All Night's sophomore season shake-up>>

Applegate cited Up All Night's "new direction" as to why she was leaving the show. UAN originally filmed with a single camera but in an effort to boost ratings, NBC switched to a multi-camera format that would no doubt also include a live audience. There's nothing wrong with that, so we can't help wondering if maybe there's something else. Applegate is all set for her return to Anchorman 2. Maybe both projects were just too much to take on.

Virtual learning from home

Online education has become increasingly popular in recent years. Whether it is for religious reasons, bullying, learning disabilities or health issues, many parents are looking to homeschooling as a solution.

However, many parents often feel unequipped to successfully educate their children at home. This is where virtual homeschooling might be beneficial.

Virtual schooling allows the parent to create individualized learning customized to each child's needs. Parents can also choose to have real instructors, tutors and video online. While homeschooling can be challenging, there are a number of online options available to help make the journey less stressful.

Online homeschool options

Trying to decide between the different types of online homeschool options can be daunting. Virtual, umbrella or cover schools all tend to fall under the same category. They can provide all subjects, issue report cards, maintain attendance records, issue diplomas and sometimes offer college prep and career prep programs.

Some online curriculum specializes in one particular subject such as math, reading or spelling. These programs allow you the freedom to carefully tailor your child's education to suit their individual needs. You may also choose to teach some subjects online while incorporating textbooks for other subjects.

A few things to consider

Determine your budget. Online programs can range from a couple hundred dollars a year per subject to free. Most of the free programs are run by the public school system and come with many more requirements for both parent and student. Some programs are run through private schools and include access to online instructors and full record-keeping. Decide if you want one subject, multiple subjects or an entire program.

K-12 academic programs

  • A Beka Academy - K-12 and college prep program featuring high-quality video instruction and uses Christian character building textbooks from A Beka Book.
  • Alpha Omega Academy - An accredited online academy and Christian homeschool curriculum for grades Pre-K-12.
  • Bob Jones Distance Learning Online - Video content and online assessments delivered to your computer.
  • Calvert - Calvert School's comprehensive homeschool curriculum.
  • Connections Academy - This site offers K-12 tuition-free fully accredited online public schooling in many states as well as a private fully accredited college-preparatory K–12 private school available to students everywhere.
  • K12 - K-12 online education.
  • Mosaica Online Education - K-12 academic program that utilizes the best aspects of a blended online and classroom learning experience.
  • Progress Academy - Offers K-12 graduation interactive, online comprehensive curriculum programs.

Supplemental and comprehensive online curriculum

  • A+ Interactive Math - Multimedia lessons that use all three learning modalities: Audio, visuals and text.
  • Ambleside Online - Free homeschool curriculum designed to be as close as possible to the curriculum that Charlotte Mason used in her own private and correspondence schools.
  • Khan Academy - Offering over 3,000 videos, Khan Academy is a not-for-profit with the goal of changing education for the better by providing a free world-class education for anyone anywhere.
  • Reading Eggs - Reading Eggs program focuses on a core reading curriculum of skills and strategies essential for sustained reading success.
  • Time4Learning - Time4Learning provides a preschool to eighth grade online homeschool curriculum via the internet.

You will want to check your state's homeschool laws before you choose an online program that best suits your child's needs. Speak to the online instructors, read reviews and educate yourself about the programs. The more informed you are, the better prepared you will be to offer your child a successful online education.

Boy George weight loss

Boy George's diet plan is most certainly working! Recent photos of the singer have surprised fans, who can't help but wonder what's causing the 51-year-old's dramatic weight loss.

Seen above in the image on the left on Feb. 17 in London, Boy George's weight loss is readily evident when compared to a picture from just over a year ago. The fuller face, seen above right, was photographed in Australia at a New Year's Eve concert in late 2011.

Boy George's autobiography reveals another singer's hookup secrets>>

How'd he do it? According to tweets sent out by the "Karma Chameleon" singer himself, the weight loss is due to Amelia Freer's Freer Nutrition plan. "5 hour gaps between meals," Boy George tweeted Sunday. "No coffee or tea, except at meals. Water & fizzy water between meals! No bread, sugar!"

Curious to know what exactly is left to eat if you cut all of that out of your diet? George went on to tweet photos of his new, healthy meals, titled "spicy broccoli cheese," and "Cannelloni bean & veggie curry."

Check out more celebrity weight loss news from SheKnows >>

When asked how much he spent on the Freer Nutrition plan, the now-svelte singer replied, "£750 over 3 months is how much a day? come on, my maths are shite! lol!" Followers quick with the calculator pointed out that's approximately £8.33 per day — $11.44 per day for those of us stateside, or just over $1000 for the full program fee.

While many have tweeted that Boy George has "never looked better," some publications fear his weight loss has gone too far. 98FM reported on his changed appearance until a title that reads "Boy George fading away."
