Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life's last four words totally hint at another season

If you've yet to watch the Gilmore Girls revival, read no further because you will most definitely be spoiled and who wants that? Don't say we didn't warn you and read at your own risk.

After much anticipation and a lot of waiting, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is finally on Netflix for fans to binge. If you're like us, then you've probably already watched the four 90-minute episodes and also most likely woke up at the crack of dawn to see how it all came to an end.

More: Jess' official return to Gilmore Girls could mean bad news for Dean fans

There's no doubt there is a lot to discuss, but right now, those last four words that everyone has been wondering about are top priority. Creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has teased for years that she envisioned Gilmore Girls ending with four words. Well, we finally know them and to say they are shocking would be an understatement.

So what are they? Are you ready? Here is the exchange of four words between Lorelai and Rory that just might be the most famous four words ever uttered in television. They are:

Rory: "Mom?"
Lorelai: "Yeah?"
Rory: "I'm pregnant."

Were those the final four words you were expecting? Fans probably thought this could very well be a possibility, but it is definitely surprising, and mainly because they don't provide closure for fans, but more of a cliffhanger.

Now what? Where do we go from here? Based on the exchange between Lorelai and Rory, this means there is going to be another season and/or more episodes, right? They can't just leave fans hanging like this.

There are still so many unanswered questions. Though, if this is how Sherman-Palladino intended for the series to always end, then maybe there won't be more episodes. Whatever the case, here's why we think there will totally be (and absolutely should be) future episodes featuring Lorelai, Rory and of course the next Gilmore.

1. We still don't know the father

Jess Mariano
Image: Netflix

They can't just drop the pregnancy bombshell without telling fans the identity of the father. The most likely candidate is obviously Logan, who Rory maintained a side relationship with for who knows how long despite him being engaged to someone else. If it's not him, then it could very well be Jess. The way he stared at Rory in "Fall" (above) surely now has fans questioning whether something happened between the two that just wasn't shown. Hmm... whomever is the father, it needs to be revealed in another season.

2. Rory's conversation with Christopher

Rory and Christopher
Image: Netflix

When Rory sat down with Christopher in "Fall," she questioned him about Lorelai's choice to raise Rory all by herself. Now that we know she is pregnant, it seems the reason for her conversation was to help her decide if she will do the same with her child. Will she choose to be a single mother like Lorelai? Her decision and the outcome of it is something fans would certainly want to see play out onscreen.

3. There's so much more story to tell

Logan and Rory
Image: Netflix

Between the identity of the father, Rory's book (appropriately titled Gilmore Girls) possibly being published, Rory's pregnancy, Rory having the baby, Rory and motherhood, Rory's love life, Luke and Lorelai's marriage and so much more, there is a lot left to tell. So, yeah, another season is totally in the works.

4. Rory has so much more life to live

Rory and Lorelai
Image: Netflix

Those four words show how Rory and Lorelai's lives have come full circle. Gilmore Girls began with a 32-year-old Lorelai and her 16-year-old daughter and then ended with a 32-year-old Rory having her own child. Don't get us wrong, that is a suitable ending, but things haven't quite come full circle for Rory, unlike for Lorelai, who finally tied the knot with Luke and is happy in life. Rory, on the other hand, has a lot of life still to live and why not show fans that?

5. Lorelai's reaction

Rory and Lorelai
Image: Netflix

Did you see Lorelai's reaction (above) upon hearing Rory say she is pregnant? Yeah, Lorelai was beyond shocked. Don't you want to see how all of this plays out? It would be extremely unfortunate if fans were never to see Lorelai's response to hearing her daughter will soon be a mom and that she will soon be a grandma.

Here's hoping there is more Gilmore Girls on the way, but if not, there's no denying these four episodes (and those four words) delivered on so many levels.

Kelly Ripa saved Andy Cohen from a scary close call with skin cancer

We may have Kelly Ripa to thank for saving Andy Cohen's life.

More: Michael Strahan and Andy Cohen's man fight is over

Cohen joined Ripa as her guest co-host on Live! With Kelly Friday morning, where he told a story about the time Ripa was the reason he had a doctor check out a mole that turned out to be cancerous.

They were both guests at a party when Ripa pointed out the mole, Cohen said. Her husband, Mark Consuelos, backed her up as she encouraged Cohen to have it checked out. And it's a really good thing he took their advice, because the mark turned out to be a melanoma, the most dangerous kind of skin cancer.

"I had a black dot on my bottom lip and you and I were at a party for [Anderson Cooper's] mom in April, and you said, ‘You have a black dot on your lip, I don’t think that’s something good," Cohen recalled on the show. "It was melanoma and they removed it, and I just want to thank you because you were so dogmatic... The lip heals very well and I really had a chunk removed out of it."

More: Go after Lisa Vanderpump and she'll try to ruin your life, says Brandi Glanville

Cohen has always described himself as a "tanorexic," but said that the close call taught him how important it is not only to take steps to limit sun exposure and prevent skin cancers, but to have the skin checked regularly.

"I am tanorexic; I love the sun. And I of course never thought that kind of thing would happen to me, and it will change my relationship to the sun," he explained.

And Ripa shared that this was the third time she identified a questionable mark on a friend, making her pretty much some kind of skin cancer superhero. She also stressed how important it is to get regular skin checks from a doctor.

Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom's matching pajamas just killed those breakup rumors

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just addressed the breakup rumors that have been surrounding them in the most perfectly hilarious way.

More: Has anyone asked Orlando Bloom how he feels about Katy Perry's baby fever? `

Proving to the entire internet once and for all that they definitely did not break up, the couple shared an Instagram story that showed Bloom celebrating Thanksgiving with Perry and her family. Everyone — the whole family and Bloom — was wearing matching plaid onesie pajamas while they cooked in the kitchen. That's a family tradition we can get behind.

In one sweet shot, Bloom, decked out in his plaid onesie, is holding a baby and texting, while Perry pans the camera across the room to show off everyone's matching PJs. She finished the shot with the caption, "HI INTERNET."

Earlier this week, In Touch was reporting that Perry and Bloom had decided to call it quits.

"Not long after Halloween, Orlando confessed to pals that he'd decided to end their relationship," the site reported, adding that the reason was because "he's just not ready to get married and have babies."

But a second source told the magazine that it was Perry who put an end to things, saying that she realized "they were on different life paths and as much as she likes him, it's time to move on."

Perry and Bloom are definitely no strangers to silly rumors about their relationship, though, and from the looks of things, they're going strong despite all the talk.

No one wants a Christmas card about my single and childless life

$

The other day, I had a bit of spare time on my hands and was feeling quite antsy. My sister asked: “Why don’t you write your Christmas cards?” I busted out laughing. “Single people without children don’t write Christmas cards.” I then went on to explain what said Christmas card might look like: Me by myself smiling at the camera. The letter?

More: Just because I'm proudly Jewish doesn't mean I don't love Christmas songs

Dear So-and-So,

Here we are at the end of another year. I didn’t go on any vacations. I didn’t get married. I didn’t birth any children. Yep, just me and the cats still. And only two mice now because the oldest one died.

Merry Christmas!

Love,

Blondie

I’m not even being snarky or bitter, I swear. I know my life is worthy and important, but it’s not Christmas card material. Before you protest, let’s think about this. These are the 'normal' Christmas card topics:

  • Marriages
  • Vacations
  • Births
  • Moving/houses/DIY house stuff
  • Children’s achievements/sporting events

If you’re really lucky, you’ll get a bit of career information.

P.S. I’m still a freelance writer/editor.

When I was a kid, my mother had a giant felt envelope that hung from the pie tin cabinet next to the kitchen table. In the weeks before Christmas, the envelope would fill up with cards from elderly relatives and my parents’ long-lost friends.

The cards were pretty and made for fun décor, but I doubt they made it past Christmas day before going swiftly into the garbage. It wasn’t that we didn’t care, but who really keeps Christmas cards on display year-round or wants to store them in tubs in the basement forever? No one. Even as a child, I thought the cards and postage were a waste of money.

When I entered adulthood, I started getting Christmas cards from people my own age. It was a rite of passage that would only begin when the person got married. Then I’d get a card with a full-page, single-spaced, typed Christmas letter about the couple’s wedding, new home, fancy vacation(s), pregnancies, births, and jobs.

More: 5 Old Christmas movies worth revisiting

Over time, the letters got shorter. Then the letters disappeared. The trend changed to fancy, template-type cards with just the family photo, a printed holiday greeting, and a hand-written signature.

Eventually, the hand-written signatures were replaced by “The Blondersons” in large, fancy fonts. Every trace of my actual friend would be gone. Just kids and a great print job. The end.

As a single and childless person, these types of cards are an annual holiday reminder of my societal failings. Look at all of these happy, smiling children! That’s what you’re supposed to be doing! Hurry up! Where is YOUR Christmas card?

Of course, somewhere out there is a Type-A single/childfree person sending out faboosh holiday cards to like 150 people. I tip my hat to you, but the last thing I want at this time of the year is pity from other people about my status in life.

Even if I’m not present, I would be able to feel the pity from afar. Oh look, Blondie sent us a Christmas card. Oh, that’s so sad –it’s just her. Or maybe: Oh dear, Blondie really has turned into the Crazy Cat Lady. She put her two cats in the picture! Of course there's always the simple judgement: Poor Blondie! She’s all alone!

I really don’t need that crap.

And I don’t care how many people say, “Oh, I would never say that! I’d think it was super cool if you sent out a Christmas card,” I call bullsh*t. You’d look at my card, compare it to your other cards or your own card, and pity me. It would happen. Especially if those fur babies were in there. Cats = enough said.

So if you don’t get a Christmas card from me, please know that it’s not because I don’t love you. It’s not because I don’t care. It’s simply because I’m avoiding the pity – from you and from me.

As most Americans sat down to their Thanksgiving dinners, peaceful protests on the Stand Rock Indian Reservation near the site of construction on the Dakota Access oil pipeline continued.

And as police continued to attack unarmed water protectors with rubber bullets and water cannons, a handful of celebs stepped up to show their support for the #NoDAPL cause.

Katy Perry posted to both Instagram and Twitter, asking her followers to donate to help stop the pipeline's construction.

"On #Thanksgiving, a day with complex origins, I want to speak up in support of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation and their protest of the Dakota Access Pipeline," she wrote. "Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with what is going on in North Dakota. While it may not be on your front pages, this is not a frightening series of events for “them”, it is frightening series of events for all of us. The pipeline in question, would carry crude oil through land sacred to indigenous peoples and put a crucial water supply at risk. We have seen the results of unintended oil spills before and they are crippling to the health of the surrounding people and environment."

She continued, "To all those peacefully protesting to protect history, to protect that which is personally sacred and to protect our life sustaining water sources, we are here shoulder to shoulder with you across this country. We cannot afford to be complacent with our rights and we cannot afford to be complacent with the rights of our neighbor."

"I ask that everyone who’s paid attention to this movement really takes a step back, and outside of the celebrity involvement, outside of all the hype surrounding Standing Rock, this is a movement that was led by youth and led by women and is just about protecting clean water and healing," she said.

I became obsessed with being thin so no one would notice my blackness

$

Growing up black in a predominantly white environment in the southern part of the Netherlands was an uphill battle. Naturally, you want to fit in and look for ways to blend into the crowd. I didn’t know how to respond to the preconceived notion of my blackness, and I tried to hide from the world by hide myself away.

More: I'm so tired of society telling me what it means to be black

Blackness seemed unpleasant and foreign to my Dutch white peers. I was often the only black person they knew or interact with. Yet they vigorously consumed the prescribed blackness from American media and so did I. I loved The Parkers, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Destiny’s Child, Tyra Banks and America’s Next Top Model. I just also hoped that my body wouldn’t fill out like the video vixens in the music videos of Nelly and Co.

Thinness became my shield. I thought: Yes, you can talk sh — t about black people, but you can’t make a negative remark about my thin frame.

The disconnect between my mind and the flesh vessel that I called home was comforting. It became a soft, warm blanket that soothed my inner distress. It’s hard to explain the comforting feeling of euphoria. I’ve been consumed for a long time with the desire to reach that happiness again, but I now know that it’s impossible. Nobody was aware of my inner turmoil, nor could they fathom the depths of the tight reins I held over my body.

The first time I noticed I could go hours without eating was purely an accident: It was during a regional swimming competition and the overwhelming anxiety and tension wreaked havoc on my body, so I barely ate breakfast — just enough to fuel my engine. Despite my initial concerns, I got on with it and participated in the race. I didn’t win, but I felt euphoric and light: it was pure happiness.

In the small confined area of the swimming pool, time and space didn’t exist. As an athlete you’re aware of every inch of your body when you’re gliding in the water. Your body tries to mold itself in the perfect shape, so that you can become faster than the other swimmers, but you’re often just competing against yourself. In the water, it didn’t really matter who I was or where I came from. All that mattered was that you stayed in your lane and be as fast as the limits of your brain and body allowed it.

More: I starved myself into a full blown mental illness

Thinness became a mechanism with which I could battle my opponents – a radical act of survival in my transformative years. Being thin became my anchor in a sea of overwhelming emotions. I didn’t fit in, but at least I didn’t look like the black stereotypes that were prevalent in the media whenever my blackness was snidely discussed. It was my way of saying f—ck you to society. Or, at least that’s what I thought.

I was twelve years old when I was first made aware of the thigh gap. I'd never heard of this phenomenon until it was casually mentioned during lunch break. They looked at me as if I had an unattainable gift in my possession. It felt like something I should be proud of, embrace it, and wear it like a badge of honor. I’ve always been slim. The lighthearted teasing from family and friends made its mark hidden in the depths of my being, but now my thinness gave me the illusion that I belonged.

The coded language that those girls spoke was foreign to me. As a child of older black immigrants, it seemed that the only purpose in my life was to get a good education. My mother never emphasized my appearance – not one comment on the shape of my body or facial features, nor did she teach me how to apply makeup. The compliments I received from her heralded my character traits and nothing else.

I suffered in silence so that nobody would think I’d had a problem. I didn’t feel like I had control and constantly being othered wore me down. Thus my body became my way of communicating my dissatisfaction and struggle within society.

The secret was anchored in my mind. I didn’t count calories, use laxatives, or binge and throw up. I just slowly started eating less and less. I only ate in front of others and then only the bare minimum to not raise suspicion.

I remember seeing my reflection in the large windows of the swimming pool. Under the harsh, yellow lighting, I wished I could vanish and dissolve in the water.

There was no miraculous moment that led to the decision to stop punishing myself. It took me almost a year to slowly dismantle the destructive habit I created. There were flare ups whenever I was emotionally uncomfortable and my first response was to stop eating. Gradually I forced myself to change my behavior.

I wish I could tell you that it was a mentor figure or an amazing self-help book that ignited the change. It honestly was an organic progression where I just became more comfortable in my own skin. It could’ve been that I was just growing up and didn’t care about other people’s opinion anymore, or was merely tired of denouncing my blackness through my body. The soft, warm blanket that was once so soothing, felt ratty, and it didn’t give me the comfort that I once was looking for.

There's no question it's been a year of ups and downs for Pulliam. Just days after she announced her pregnancy, her then-husband, NFL linebacker Ed Hartwell, filed for divorce and requested a paternity test. The two hadn't even been married a year — they tied the knot on Jan. 2 after just four months of dating. They've also argued publicly since then about what caused their breakup — Hartwell alleges that she was pressuring him to have a baby before he was ready, while she says it was because he cheated.

Pulliam hasn't spoken publicly about whether Hartwell will be involved in her baby's life, but has gushed about how much she's looking forward to being a mom.

My celiac disease made me so scared of food I stopped eating

$

Food has many definitions. For some, it is a fuel, its only purpose to power an athlete through their next workout. For others, it's a luxury, the creamy taste of ice cream melting on the tongue. Pre-diagnosis, food was just part of life. I devoured pizza during sleepovers, baked on the weekend and never turned down a trip to In-N-Out.

MoreDear skinny me, I will still love you when you're fat again

And then, during months of extreme nausea, acid reflux, and weight loss, food changed. Suddenly, it transformed into a weapon and the cause of all my pain. And even after I became Casey the College Celiac and dove into eating gluten-free, food kept torturing my belly. I didn't heal like the doctor promised. The weight I had lost didn't magically reappear. Food as medicine didn't work.

I didn't mean to stop eating. I didn't mean to live off of a rice cake with a swipe of peanut butter for breakfast, an omelet for lunch and a salad for dinner. But suddenly, that's what happened. The food lover – the girl who ate everyone else under the table and left waitresses flabbergasted at her empty plate – broke up with her appetite because it just hurt too much.

I staggered around my college campus like a zombie. My stomach gurgled with liquid fire. Eventually, I ended up in the hospital hooked up to an NG tube feeding me liquid cheeseburgers. And when I returned to school a week and a half later, for the first time in ages, I felt normal. Almost.

Food no longer tied up my stomach in fear, but the idea of being "healthy" dominated my mind. To gain weight, my doctors prescribed a diet of brownies, ice cream - anything dripping in calories. But I couldn't do it. My mind rebelled. It just seemed illogical to me that in order to be healthy, I had to gorge on unhealthy treats.

That's not to say that I turned down every sweet (almond butter and I are joined at the lips), but sweets suddenly became less important. I loaded my plate with a rainbow of veggies and proteins, and cringed at the idea of past greasy favorites like Pizza Hut. I became so obsessed with "being healthy" that I forgot that what society deems as healthy isn't for everyone. And, as I've finally realized, it isn't healthy for me.

Food has worn many masks in my life: the criminal, thief of dietary enjoyment, the judge able to unlock health if regulations are met. Now, food and I have a different relationship: food – every type of it – is my friend. And I can't thank celiac enough for teaching me that.

More: I starved myself into a full blown mental illness

I still eat healthy. I still love salads, avocados, sweet potato rounds and broccoli (even though my dad gags every time he sees my plate). I still try out new health trends like açaí powder in my smoothies or 72 percent dark chocolate. But I also love Chick-Fil-A's gluten-free fries and ketchup. I love watching a triple chocolate mug cake inflate in the microwave. And my afternoons are packed full of recipe experimentation, from pizza dough to brownies.

And sure, that half a tub of sunflower butter in my quinoa flakes may not be part of average Annie's "healthy" diet, but it fits in mine. And while some might think I eat "too healthy," I know that I'm giving my tummy and taste buds everything they crave. The fact is, I'm weird. I'm the 1 in 133 people with celiac disease in the U.S.. My eating style doesn't match the national average – and I'm finally OK with that.

It's been a long, hard journey to find my personal definition of food and heath. First, my body extinguished my appetite and then society and my quest for the holy grail of health limited my diet. Now, a year after celiac triggered this cycle, I am finally free.

Food has never tasted so sweet.

The emotional video begins with Heard asking, "How is this happening to me? I'm strong. I'm smart. I'm not a victim."

The actress goes on to talk about the "shame" attached to being labeled a victim, saying, "It happens to so many women. You know, when it happens in your home behind closed doors with someone you love, it's not as straightforward. If a stranger did this — as it was pointed out to me, if a stranger did this, it would be a no-brainer."

More: Oh, so now Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are trying to play nice

She also spoke up about the support system that she says helped her get through it: "Telling someone safe is the beginning of choosing yourself. If I hadn't had that — if I hadn't had a few people that I really trust around me, a few women, a few friends — if I didn't have them around me, how different my life would be."

Heard also touched on the public nature of her domestic abuse allegations in the video, saying, "Just as a woman having gone through this on the public stage, in the public arena that I did it in, I have a unique opportunity to remind other women not only that this doesn't have to be the way it is. You don't have to do it alone. You're not alone. And also, we can change this."

"Violence against women is not limited to actual physical violence. It is also about how we deal with it and how we talk about it in the media and in our culture. And us taking responsibility for it is what we really need to change. We need to take responsibility for how we talk about these things," Heard said in the PSA. "It's the only way that people are going to feel comfortable in coming forward and raising their voices and standing up for themselves is if we change the system in place that keeps them quiet.

The video ends with Heard delivering a powerful message straight to the camera, telling women, "Speak up. Speak up. Raise your voice. Your voice is the most powerful thing, and we together as women standing shoulder to shoulder cannot and will not any longer accept silence."

It's time to stop scaring your cat with cucumbers

The internet loves its cats, and as of late, it especially loves its cats freaking out over some cucumbers. Random... but hilarious.

More: 10 cats vs. Christmas tree GIFs to get you in the holiday spirit

When a cucumber appears behind a cat or next to it — especially while they're eating — it often triggers the cat to jump or freak out and flee, causing some extremely popular GIFs and videos.

In case you need proof:

Cat versus cucumber 1

Cat versus cucumber 1

Cat versus cucumber 2

Cat versus cucumber 2

Cat versus cucumber 3

Cat versus cucumber 3

But it turns out, cats aren't really afraid of cucumbers. They're afraid of snakes, predators and random objects sneaking up behind them. Some theorize cucumbers look similar enough to snakes that if one suddenly appears behind them, it's instinctual for them to jump. The high jump keeps them from getting bitten if the cucumber were, in fact, a snake.

More: 25 random cat behaviors finally explained

"If a cat sees something slithering over the ground, the cat often will jump a couple of feet up in the air, a behavior that prevents getting bitten by a snake," animal behaviorist Con Slobodchikoff said during an interview with ABC.

He added, "Cats are genetically hard-wired through instinct to avoid snakes. Cucumbers look enough like a snake to have the cat's instinctive fear of snakes kick in."

It isn't just cucumbers that could trigger this jumping response, though it does seem to be the food item that looks most like the slithery animal. It doesn't help that cats don't see color in the same way humans do. They see color as less vibrant than we humans, especially greens and reds, so the green could easily look like the green of a snake.

"Anything that looks like a snake could produce the instinctive fear response," Slobodchikoff said in the same interview with ABC. "Cucumbers are shaped more like snakes, with their curving sides, than ears of corn or eggplants, so they produce a greater response."

More: 100 unique cat names that have as much personality as your new kitty

Dr. Roger Mugford, also an animal behavior expert, told The Telegraph that due to a cat's suspicious nature, many items could theoretically cause the same response.

“Cats have to be suspicious of the unknown: It could represent the danger of a snake or another predator,” Mugford said. “I suspect that there would be the same reaction to a model spider, a plastic fish or a human face mask.”

And while this cucumber phenomenon is, admittedly, funny to witness, you shouldn't make a habit of scaring your cat regularly, if ever. Turns out, that constant fear can cause long-term damage.

"Any time you scare an animal, you risk inflicting psychological damage, so that the animal will be afraid not only of cucumbers," Slobodchikoff said, "but also the surroundings in which the cucumber was presented to the animal."

Rather than freaking your furry friend out to the point of no return, it's best to introduce new items slowly and carefully, and not while the cat is eating or has its head in a bowl, which is a vulnerable position. Make sure they have plenty of room to escape if they feel the need so they don't break any items around the house or hurt themselves.

Suddenly those cat videos seem rather sad. Moral of the story: Leave those cucumbers in the fridge where they belong.

Are you surprised that scaring your cat with a cucumber can actually cause long-term damage?

10 fast beauty tricks from top mom bloggers

Deally, we’d all have a full hour every morning to spend in front of the mirror, meticulously applying sheer layers of foundation and bronzer to achieve a flawless no-makeup makeup look. Actually, no, if we’re talking ideal here, then ideally we’d have a glam squad to do it for us. And ideally we would also be Beyoncé. But, alas, we are not. We are mere mortals with class, work, and kids to worry about, which means more often than not, our mornings are frantic, and appearances fall by the wayside.

More: 21 Photos of How Real People Store Their Makeup

So we decided to ask some of life’s busiest women—i.e. moms—for their best time-saving beauty tricks that get them out the door without looking like a burning tire fire. And yes, they had some excellent advice. From double-duty products to multi-tasking hairstyles, these mom bloggers give their best tricks for saving the most amount of time in the morning.

1. Get you a scrub that can do both.

“I’ve been using Sea Siren Body Scrub by Shiva Rose to exfoliate and moisturize my skin in one easy step. It’s got a blend of oils and butters that leave my skin soft, smooth and glowy. The uplifting scent of lemongrass is an added bonus, as well.”

–Lacey Mackey of Natureal Mom

2. Master a braid.

“A side braid is my go-to busy mama hairstyle. Not only can I make that style happen in seconds, but it looks a bit more put together than the mom bun. I also believe in the power of oversized sunnies and a bold lipstick to distract from tired eyes.”

–Kristin Swenson of Take Time for Style

3. Add some definition.

“When I don’t have time to do my eye makeup, I keep it simple by applying bronzer or contour powder in the crease of my eyelids only. It adds definition to my eyes without taking more than five seconds!”

–Andrea Bai of Glam Hungry Mom

4. Learn the ropes (to beachy waves).

“For easy overnight beach waves, I’ll create two rope braids by parting my slightly damp hair down the middle and then dividing each side into two smaller sections. Starting on one side, I tightly twist each of the smaller sections counterclockwise until I reach the ends, and then wind the two sections around each other in a clockwise motion, securing the ends with a no-crease hair tie. Then I repeat the process on the other side. In the morning, I unravel the twists and loosely break up the waves with my fingers.”

–L.M.

5. Multi-task with face masks.

“When you’re a working mom, your morning routine has to be quick and easy. So in the evenings, I always trying to pamper my skin as much as I can, so I can fall into bed right after my kids do. So a couple times a week, I’ll throw on the BeautyCounter Purifying Charcoal Face Mask while I cook dinner or help my kids with homework. For me, I just want to keep my skin clean and hydrated, so I try to fit that in my routine as often as possible no matter how busy we are.”

–Alissa Circle of Diary of an Addict

6. Ditch the showers.

“Dry shampoo is my favorite trick! Not washing my hair daily is a big time saver in the mornings when I’m trying to get ready for work and also have to take my 11-year-old to school bright and early at 7!” [Editor’s note: Spray your favorite dry shampoo on your roots at night, right before bed, to give the powder time to soak up any scalp oils as you sleep.]

–Jamie Reeves of Blonde Mom Blog

7. Channel Princess Leia.

“I always wash my hair at night, so while it’s still damp—but partially air-dried—I’ll twist and pin it up into Princess Leia buns. When I wake up, I’ll scrunch some Josie Maran Argan Oil in it to smooth out any frizz, and I get the prettiest natural-looking waves the next day. I never have time to curl my hair, plus I’m honestly not very good at it and don’t have the patience for it, so this is my ultimate time-saver!”

–Katie Michelle of Katie Did What

8. Invest in multi-purpose products.

“I use Universalist Multi-Use Colorstick by W3LL People to add a little color to my eyes, cheeks, and lips in seconds. It cuts down on time because I don’t have to sort through my makeup box for different products or brushes. Plus, it easily blends with my fingertips, so I can toss the stick in my bag for on-the-go applications.”

–L.M.

9. Go for the extensions.

“One of my biggest time-saving tricks has been investing in eyelash extensions. They are so amazing! They cut my getting ready time in half in the morning, and most days, I’m ready to go after throwing on some foundation and blush, and filling in my eyebrows a bit. It’s amazing how long lashes give you the feel of wearing a full-face of makeup, even when you aren’t.”

–A.C.

10. Skip the blow-dryer.

“I have extremely long hair, and blow-drying it is not always an option if I’m pressed for time. Before bed, I add a very loose French braid to slightly damp hair, and then, when I wake up, I’ll spray it all with a little Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish, and I’m left with simple beachy waves.”

Neptune is the planet of imagination in astrology. It's Neptune's job to get you to dream of something that's fuller and richer than what life has to offer. It's only by getting you to fall in love with the possibility of what could be that Neptune inspires you to reach past the reality staring you in the face and to pursue your vision. But visions are funny things. They aren't like items you can check off your to-do list at the end of the day. They defy explanation and are almost always impossible to describe. Plus, one person's vision can often be another person's delusion. You won't be sure which is which when the sun squares Neptune on Nov. 30, but there's only one way to find out and that's to follow it. You'd never forgive yourself if you didn't.

When it comes to opportunities, you really have the pick of the litter with ruling planet Mars making auspicious planetary aspects this week. It's almost as if people in positions of influence suddenly tuned into what you're all about. They recognize your gifts, skills and talents and now want you playing on their team. It's flattering to be sure, but you also want to be smart about your next move. Take this time to go on interviews and to see what they have to say. It's nice to be in the position where others have to sell you on them rather than vice-versa.

Anything that looks like it's too good to be true usually is. This is something that you will want to keep in mind while the sun is squaring illusory Neptune. You are especially vulnerable to the psychic tug of pyramid schemes, get-rich-quick scams and desperate emails from friends you didn't know were traveling overseas and who are asking you for money. Being the savvy Taurus that you are, you'll see through most of these ruses; however, a financial pitch on Dec. 6 could prove too irresistible. Resist it anyway. Just because it's dressed up in facts and stats doesn't make it any more substantial.

Mercury being in Capricorn (Dec. 2 to Jan. 4) makes this the perfect time for navigating bureaucratic mazes that would leave most people bewildered. Thankfully, you were born under the planet of puzzles and riddles, so if anyone can ferret out the key, it's you. Mercury bestows a secret genius of intuiting the ins and outs of any given situation. Obviously, you can think of more interesting things to do than research loans, fill out forms in triplicate or familiarize yourself with the technicalities surrounding an application, but if you put in the mental work now, you will see efforts yield tremendous dividends on Jan. 27.

It's a thankless position, and you have been made to feel like you couldn't get ahead no matter what you did. However, there's been a change in planetary alignment, which is why you don't want to overlook the subtle upturn in fortune that this week's Mars sextile brings. Whether it's praise for a job well done, a new superior recognizing your talent or a client singling your praises, you'll want to build on this momentum in the weeks to come.

The Jupiter/Mars trine on Dec. 1 followed by a Mars sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius on Dec. 3 shows that your luck is changing for the better. This could bring the answer to a prayer, the fulfillment of a wish or the realization of a far-fetched hope. The only drawback is that your good fortune will be based on somebody else's downward turn. It's enough to stop you in your tracks until you discover who this person is. Let's just say that it will be hard to shed a tear for someone who caused you so much grief and aggravation in the past.

Co-workers will assure you that everything is signed, sealed and delivered, but the sun/Neptune square on Nov. 30 begs to differ. This is one of the wonkier planetary aspects in astrology, and it's famous for creating mistaken impressions, false memories and fuzzy math. People may think that they made that phone call or inked that deal, but it's unlikely. Moreover, their oversight could be costly, which is why you'll want to double-check the details. I got my first period on live TV during a local talent show

As the child of a broke single parent growing up in Maine, I had to find every free outlet I could to perform. When I was eight years old, my mom ran out of money to keep me in tap and jazz lessons, so I decided I was going to dance in the local Lithgow Library Talent Show. Not only was the talent show attended by about 100 people live, it was also taped by the local TV station and broadcast several times a year. One of the best parts about being in the show was that it cost no money. The biggest challenge for me since my mother didn't drive, was going to be how to get to the library and TV station to perform in the shows. But since I wanted it so much, my mom figured it out and took me to the library on audition day via local public bus. With my cassette tape that had my recital music in tow, I marched into the basement of the library (which was the children's floor) ready for my audition.

More: 96 years after women got the vote, I finally get to choose a female president

Tucked in the back of the children's room resided a tiny raised carpeted stage with thick red curtains that opened and closed. I put on my purple recital costume from that past spring, and my tap shoes, and did the best version of the Elvis "Hound Dog" routine that I could remember. I had two major obstacles to overcome during this audition. The first: I was tap dancing on carpet which really defeats the purpose, and secondly: I was morbidly shy.

But when my song started, for those three minutes onstage I felt like I was where I belonged, and my shyness didn't matter at all. I was never a good dancer, but somehow I still had the confidence to get up there and do my mediocre solo.

When I was done dancing, I instantly reverted back to my extremely shy persona. I looked down at the floor and told the children's librarian Jane "Sorry I messed up a bunch, but I'll practice more and do better if you let me in the show." Jane was the kind of woman who radiated kindness. She had long white hair that she kept in a single braid down her back, and the most beautiful smile. She told me "I think that you did a very good job. For the show we should get a hard slate to put down onstage so everyone can hear you tap dancing. I would love to have you in the show this year."

I went home that day overflowing with excitement and proudness that I had gotten in the talent show. Though in reality, this was Augusta, Maine. I'm sure EVERY kid who auditioned got in the talent show.

A month or so later, after practicing so much on our hard kitchen floor that our downstairs neighbor knocked one night and asked if I could shut the fuck up, I was ready to slay that children's library room.

The day of the show all of the talent gathered in the wings as the stage's thick red curtains closed. The emcee, who was a ten year old boy, introduced the show. The crowd who showed up that day was lively and the room was overflowing with people. Halfway into the show, when the emcee announced my name and the music started, I switched on my performer mode and tap danced my heart out. I felt so happy happy while I was on stage. Probably the happiest I had ever been. Performing live gave me the kind of high that could never be duplicated, but I would spend the rest of my life chasing down. After the show ended, Jane gave me a big hug and told me how pretty I looked and that I had shined onstage. Some of the audience members even told me I had done good too. My eight year-old-self was busting with pride. My mother however, looked at me with a frown. She said "Well, I can see where you messed up some. You kept pushing your hair back too, which showed them how nervous you were. One time you made a face that made you look ugly. You had better not do that on TV or everyone will notice." With her words my pride and happiness instantly turned to embarrassment. I spent the rest of the day worried that everyone thought I was horrible.

Later that week the whole cast went over to the TV station to film the show for live broadcast. My Uncle Jesse had given me a ride over with my mom, which solved my transportation problem. As I sat through my first TV studio experience I was fascinated by the control room, the camera operation and stage manager who did the cues. As the show went on, I noticed one thing in particular. This ten year old emcee guy was getting a shit ton of TV time – way more than any of the talent in the show. I got up to perform my dance but instead of having as much fun as I did the first time, I had my mothers voice running through my head. "Don't mess up, don't show them you are nervous, don't make that face that makes you look ugly, don't touch your hair." Despite that, I did pretty good for my first time on TV, and had a great time seeing myself on the show the times it broadcast.

The following year I couldn't take dance lessons anymore due to money, so my tap dancing progress came to a screeching halt. Throughout the year, every time I visited the children's room at library Jane was there to greet me with her warm smile and positive comforting words – something I severely lacked at home. When it came time for the next year's talent show, I asked Jane if I could be the emcee. In my mind, the emcee was the real star of the show and I wanted all that TV time. Jane was surprised I wanted to host (especially considering how shy I was) and said "OK! You will be the first girl to ever be the emcee! Let's call you the Mistress Of Ceremonies."

I hosted the show that year and had my first taste of reading from cue cards and public speaking. I loved it as much as dancing. Everyone said I was a great emcee, except for my mother who of course lectured me about how I messed up and could have done better. Jane later told me that after I had performed my recital dance on TV the year prior, a sudden influx of kids from my old dance school had entered the talent show. I was such a trailblazer.

On my fifth year doing the talent show, I was twelve years old. We had another successful live show and headed to the local TV station to film it. I had been feeling kind of funny the whole day. I was really tired and a bit light headed but didn't know why. As I stood for a few hours under the hot TV lights, they felt hotter than ever before. I started having really bad lower back cramps and was so uncomfortable. After we wrapped the show, I went to the bathroom. When I looked at my underwear there was a small nickel sized red blotch. I had just started my period for the very first time ever. I was too embarrassed to tell my mom with other people around, and since the situation looked pretty minor I rolled up some toilet paper to line my underwear.

Once I got home and told my Mom, she made a big deal out of it and called my grandmother to tell her the news. My Nana got on the phone and joked "Well Renée, now you are a woman!" If that was being a woman, I already hated it.

I continued to host the Lithgow Library Talent show until I "retired" at thirteen years old. Jane moved away and retired soon after that, and with no one there as passionate as she had been to organize it, the talent show ended forever.

I have so many great memories from my time doing the talent show, but the one that stands out the most will always be the time I "became a woman" on live television.

Maybe you're not in the market for a relationship. It might explain why you're having such a hard time focusing on just one paramour. It's not every day when you have so many guys cycling in and out of your life, and though this gives the appearance that you're a man-eater, the simple truth is that you don't want to settle for second best when you don't have to. Let's face it: You have a lot to offer a guy right now. So what does a guy have to offer you? Continue meeting, greeting and dating. You'll know the right fit when you see him.

TAURUS (April 19 - May 19)
Image: SheKnows

You're ready to move ahead with long-term plans, but your partner isn't. Try not to take this personally. His hesitation has nothing to do with you or how he feels about you. It's just that there are so many free-floating pieces in his life right now — not the least of which concerns where he will be living a year from today. He simply doesn't know, and this is why he can't give you the answer you want. This is a time when you really must let developments unfold on their own and trust that the heavens really do have a plan for you.

GEMINI (May 20 - June 19)
Image: SheKnows

Your partner or spouse appears to be completely lost at sea. Maybe it's that albatross that's been hanging around his neck, an ongoing dilemma that doesn't show signs of letting up. Or perhaps it's a recent promotion at work that's introduced more problems than pluses. In any case, you need to be there for him. This doesn't mean you have to have the answers or tell him what to do. Just be there by his side with a shoulder to lean on and be a sounding board for his thoughts and feelings. It's what he needs most from you now and it's also what you do best.

CANCER (June 20 - July 21)
Image: SheKnows

You've fought for many things in your relationship, and you've gotten just about all of them. Yet a part of you still feels dissatisfied. Maybe those feelings of frustration reflect what's going on with you rather than what's going on with him. There's no doubt that revolutionary Uranus is making you feel uncertain about what comes next in your life, and it's probably why you're clinging to your relationship. But it could also be said that you're clinging to your relationship because you love him. Maybe it's time to stop blaming him for what's missing and to start thanking him for being there for you.

LEO (July 22 - Aug. 21)
Image: SheKnows

You really don't give up on people. Life would be so much easier if you could, but it goes against your nature to turn your back on someone you care about — even if that person has behaved abominably toward you. Now, some people say that this is because you're a masochist, an enabler or maybe even a co-dependent. And they say this because your generosity of spirit reminds them of their own diminished capacity to love. In any case, your faith will be rewarded on Dec. 3 when a rare Mars/Saturn sextile shows a prodigal loved one reappearing on your doorstep wanting to make amends.

VIRGO (Aug. 22 - Sept. 21)
Image: SheKnows

The sun/Neptune square on Nov. 30 brings a sinking feeling that everything is at loose ends. This will make you want to pin people down to specifics. You'll want to firm up agreements, lock in details and ask loved ones for emotional support and reassurance. Well, this won't be happening any time soon. In fact, it may take until Dec. 9 for you to feel the ground beneath your feet again. Meanwhile, tread water and give people plenty of leeway. They're deluged with their own pressing concerns and simply can't be there for you in the way you would like them to be.

LIBRA (Sept. 22 - Oct. 21)
Image: SheKnows

It's hard to resurrect a friendship when there's been so much bad blood between you. Most people would just skip it. You, however, will always keep the door open. Maybe it's because you're naturally forgiving or maybe it's because you're just better acquainted with human nature and know that there but for the grace of God goes any of us. In any case, the Mars/Saturn sextile on Dec. 3 shows you reaching out across the aisle. You may never regain that bosom-buddy intimacy that made you such great pals, but you'll both recognize how much happier you'll be being in each other's lives.

SCORPIO (Oct. 22 - Nov. 20)

Obsessions can be lonely company — especially when they're unreciprocated. The wonderful thing about the Venus/Uranus square on Nov. 29 is that you'll finally be free of yours. It's funny. You thought that only a rejection, a dramatic betrayal or an insurmountable separation would break the spell. Well, most things in life end with a whimper rather than a bang, as you'll see for yourself when you realize you're just not that into him anymore. You may think your heart is broken and that you'll be jaded for life, but guess again. Now that you're open to it, your biggest romantic adventure lies just around the corner.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 21 -Dec. 20)
Image: SheKnows

Your excitement and passion are infectious. So much so that you can wind up doing the gushing for both sides of a relationship. What can happen is that the person you're seeing will play along with what you want because he doesn't want to disappoint you by voicing what he really thinks and feels. This coming weekend would be a good time to check in with him to make sure that you are both speaking the same language. And make a point of truly listening to him without interrupting or putting words in his mouth. You don't want anything to get lost in the translation.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 21 - Jan. 19)
Image: SheKnows

A lot of people are feeling vulnerable and uncertain these days. 2016 was full of surprises and no one's ending this year feeling on top of things. If they are, you know they're lying and putting on a show. It's times like these when everyone turns to their favorite Capricorn for advice, support and love. It's funny how uncertain times bring out the certainty in you, but that's what comes from being born under Saturn. It bestows an unmistakable authority and assurance that everything will be all right. You graduated magnum cum laude from the school of hard knocks, after all. You've seen worse.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20 - Feb. 17)
Image: SheKnows

Aquarians are often depicted as humorless revolutionaries — fighting for truth and justice while sacrificing life's simple pleasures in pursuit of a noble cause. Well, it will be nice to see your self-indulgent side take over as Jupiter forms fun-loving aspects on Dec. 1 and Dec. 3. It's been a while since you touched base with a loved one or old friend, and planetary energies show you making up for lost time. It's amazing what a pleasant diversion can do to restore your sanity and replenish emotional reserves. It also softens the edges. You don't have to be so damned serious all the time.

PISCES (Feb. 18 - March 18)
Image: SheKnows

Quit while you're ahead because your best attempts at showing love and support will only fall on deaf ears. And it's not for lack of trying. If anyone's used to swimming upstream against the current, it's a Pisces. The problem is that with the sun squaring your ruling planet Neptune, nobody's going to hear you no matter what you say or how insightful you are. They're too involved in their Chicken Little hysterias about the sky falling down. Take a seat and let them go through their meltdowns. They'll come seek you out when the time is right — which will be after the 6th.

Iggy Azalea took to Instagram to wish her plastic surgeon a happy birthday, and she included some much-needed words of positivity about a woman's right to control her body.

More: Iggy Azalea & French Montana might just be a couple after all

"Happy birthday @DrGhavami," Azalea wrote on Instagram, captioning a picture of herself and Dr. Ashkan Ghavami. "It might seem obvious I'd hold the man I owe my fabulous nose and breasts to in high regard. But vanity aside; Ash you're hilarious as hell, talented, eclectic, a progressive thinker & someone who supports women in their choice to do what they want with their OWN bodies (tons of men don't share that sentiment). So cheers to you! I'm proud to call you my friend."

I don't think it's just men who hold to that opinion. Despite plastic surgery's extreme popularity these days, the stigma around it still exists. Otherwise, Azalea's statement is spot on. If you want to change your body, why shouldn't you have the power to do just that and feel proud of it? Azalea is obviously more than happy with her new looks, and good for her for rocking them.

Following Azalea's post, Dr. Ghavami reposted her photo and echoed her sentiments about body positivity.

"Thank you a mill for everything!" he wrote. "Your bold confidence is to be respected! My BDay is complete. Those like you who stand apart and trailblaze their own path no matter who tries to block or impede it, ALWAYS come out ahead, most importantly for themselves."

Azalea hasn't been shy about her decision to get plastic surgery. She first debuted her new looks at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

She then did an interview with Seventeen magazine about her journey to self-acceptance.

"Plastic surgery is an emotional journey," she said in the interview. "It's no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself — and it's no easy feat to change yourself.... There are things I didn't like about myself that I changed through surgery."

After weeks of speculation, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner may have finally, inadvertently confirmed their romance thanks to their Thanksgiving weekend together.

More: Gigi Hadid shut Joe Jonas down hard the first time he asked her out

First, Jonas confirmed on Wednesday's Live! With Kelly that he and his family and friends were planning on spending Thanksgiving in Mammoth.

"Tomorrow everybody flies in together," he explained. "We're going to pick our parents up and go skiing in Mammoth."

Then he and Turner were spotted leaving a hotel together on Wednesday in New York City.

After that, on Saturday, the two were spotted together attending the same wedding in Malibu, California, thanks to a photo booth pic Joe's bro Nick Jonas shared on Instagram.

Putting all of these pieces together, it's hard to deny that Joe and Turner seem to be getting pretty cozy if they're spending all of Thanksgiving weekend together.

A source told People, "He thinks she's a cool girl. She's always been into him, but he's starting to like her more and more."

More: Joe Jonas admits that losing his virginity was a total mess — literally

Joe has definitely dated his fair share of celebrity ladies (see our slideshow below). He was last linked to Gigi Hadid, who was said to have left the DNCE singer heartbroken. Perhaps Turner is just the lady Joe needed to turn the page on a new chapter.
