Yes, please! Warm Bodies' Nicholas Hoult on Jimmy Kimmel

Forget Robert Pattinson! If you want a really cute, really awesome English actor, look no further than Nicholas Hoult.

Warm Bodies' Nicholas Hoult will be on Jimmy Kimmel

I know, I know. It's hard to tell just how cute Nicholas Hoult might be with all that make-up on him to make him look undead. Lucky for you, you can catch a glimpse of him looking much more alive on Wednesday's episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Hoult, the 23-year-old cutie from England, is currently starring in two unique and awesome movies.

He'll be on Kimmel to talk about the much more popular and publicized Warm Bodies. In the movie, Hoult plays a zombie who is slowly coming back to life as he falls more in love with a living girl. From the looks of it, Warm Bodies seems like a really awesome spin on a rom-com. Watch the first four minutes...

His other movie looks pretty epic, too. It's called Jack the Giant Slayer and is a modern twist on an old fairy tale. Hoult plays Jack, a young farmer who must go head to head with the giants when the longstanding peace between them and normal-sized people is threatened.

Warm Bodies' Nicholas Hoult will be on Jimmy Kimmel

If Hoult looks familiar, he should. He's been in nearly everything. You most likely remember him as the kid who starred opposite Hugh Grant in About a Boy. Yes. That's the adorable little boy who wandered down the school hallway singing to "Shake ya a**." He went on to star as the always up to no good Tony in the beloved British young adult drama, Skins.

After Warm Bodies and Jack the Giant Slayer, you can catch him on the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as Mad Max: Fury Road. He's adorable and he's a great actor .

In the meantime, catch Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night and search your DVRs... he might turn up on some of the other late night shows throughout the week in a promotional effort for Warm Bodies.

Cold weather? Who cares! Miley Cyrus, Rihanna and other sultry stars are cranking up the heat this winter with sizzling photo shoots.

Miley Cyrus on the Cover of CosmopolitanMiley Cyrus

Maybe Miley Cyrus wanted to give Liam a sexy little keepsake he could hang on his wall. Whatever her reasoning, Miley decided to shed her Disney image for good — along with her top — for the cover of Cosmo’s March cover. Miley suggestively peeks out from the magazine, holding the lapels of her blazer at boob level. Paired with her edgy platinum pixie cut, the former Hannah Montana looks decidedly grown up. Not that she has left much doubt of that in anyone’s minds these days with all her high publicity hijinks.

Rihanna Performing in GermanyRihanna

Rihanna’s a free spirit, and by free spirit we pretty much mean she doesn’t like to be encumbered by pesky articles of clothing. News of the pop star doffing her top isn’t exactly shocking, but it is intriguing when the typically “open book” Barbadian is coy about the cause of her nudity. RiRi posted a scantily-clad Instragram pic earlier this week, referring to a "#topsecret add campaign." Today, she tweeted pics of herself strolling the beach in Barbados for the country’s tourism campaign. If nothing else, that oughtta get the island an influx of male sightseers. Check out her sexy photos here.

Talk about one hot mama! First, Beyonce flashed some underboob in a cut off sports shirt for the February cover of GQ. Now, bombshell pics of Queen B are circulating from a recent photo shoot for her fifth perfume fragrance, Pulse NYC. Could it be that motherhood made the pop star more aware of her bangin’ body? According to her interview on GQ.com, absolutely! "Giving birth made me realize the power of being a woman," she told the magazine, going on to mention her "excitement and sensuality." We don’t blame Jay-Z for being crazy in love with her. As a matter of fact, we kind of are, too. Check out her sexy photos here.

Celebrity Big Brother Star Paula Hamilton in LondonPaula Hamilton

Former model Paula Hamilton was the first housemate to be eliminated on this season’s Celebrity Big Brother, and the star is taking the news lying down. In a photo shoot for the issue of Closer magazine hitting stands this week, Hamilton is snapped lounging nude on a bed and in other provocative poses. In the accompanying interview, the brazen 55-year-old beauty cops to loving "being naked and admiring my body." Hey, blame it on her childhood — she says she was raised in South Africa by Zulu warriors, where being naked was only a problem if you landed on an ants’ nest. Check out her sexy photos here.

Somehow, I don’t think Principal Belding would approve of Kelly Kapows — er — I mean Tiffani Thiessen’s sensual photos showcased on the viral photo blog Me In My Place. Then again… well, we won’t go there. Created by photographer Michael Edwards, Me In My Place is a site where celebs shed their make-up, inhibitions and — for the most part — their clothes to pose. Although Thiessen has spoken candidly in the past about the pressure to stay thin in Hollywood and the criticism she has faced over her body, we completely understand why the Bayside High stunner is bringing the site boucoup traffic. Party over here! WB gives Entourage movie the green light

It really is happening. The Entourage movie is on its way. Warner Bros. is adapting the former HBO comedy into a feature film.

Entourage Movie

The boys are back in town for Entourage: The Movie. The long-running HBO series is getting a second life on the big screen. Rumors have been floating around for ages, but nothing came to fruition — until now. Tuesday night, Warner Bros. gave producers the green light.

Deadline is reporting that Entourage creator Doug Ellin will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote. The story will take place six months after the series finale. At the moment, the show's primary actors are working out deals to reprise their roles.

Adrian Grenier on Entourage and "the fame, the money, the glitz, the glam, the girls">>

The series was executive produced by Ellin, Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson. It centered on hot young actor Vincent Chase and his closest pals. The infamous entourage included his best friend and manager Eric , his driver Turtle , his agent Ari and his older brother Johnny Drama .

Entourage the Movie:The Next Hangover?>>

It's still early in the pre-production stage, so a start date hasn't been set. It's hard to believe it's been nearly two years since the last episode of Entourage aired. The series originally ran on HBO from 2004-2011. Each week, it took viewers inside the lavish and ludicrous world of Hollywood.

It was a one-stop shop for celebrity cameos for everyone from James Cameron to Bono. During the earlier portion of its run, it was a critical darling. Piven scored four Primetime Emmy nominations with three consecutive wins. When it was hot, nothing could beat it.

Rihanna DGAF what we think about Chris Brown romance

Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together, the star confirms, and she could not care less what you think about it.

Rihanna

Rihanna knows that the world is scratching its collective head over her decision to reunite with Chris Brown— and frankly, my dear, she doesn't give a damn.

"I decided it was more important for me to be happy," she said in an interview with Rolling Stone. "I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of that. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake."

Rihanna gets her own reality show>>

"After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it," she added.

Chris Brown famously beat the crap out of Rihanna in a parked car the night before the Grammys nearly four years ago. The police photos of the pop star's battered and bruised face, complete with black eye and split lip, shocked her fans — but nothing shocked them more than the pair reigniting their romance.

"When you add up the pieces from the outside, it's not the cutest puzzle in the world," Rihanna told the mag. "You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it's different now. We don't have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about s***. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don't want to lose that."

Lena Dunham bummed about Rihanna and Chris Brown reuniting>>

How does she know he won't snap and hit her again? She doesn't, exactly, but she's kinda sorta pretty sure he won't.

"He doesn't have the luxury of f***ing up again," she said. "That's just not an option. I can't say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I'm pretty solid in the knowing that he's disgusted by that. And I wouldn't have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility."

Adam Lambert gets birthday lap dance from David Arquette

You never quite know what to expect with Adam Lambert, but the tables were turned on Saturday when David Arquette gave him the birthday present of a lifetime.

Adam Lambert

Adam Lambert turned 31 on Tuesday, and he got quite the birthday surprise from a friend: David Arquette showed up to Lambert’s birthday party and gave him the lap dance of a lifetime.

“The Scream star showed that he’s got moves like Jagger when he stripped down to his skivvies and gave Adam Lambert a birthday lap dance at Bootsy Bellows nightclub in Los Angeles on Saturday,” said Yahoo. “The American Idol alum, who turns 31 [Tuesday], looked impressed with Arquette’s raunchy-yet-funny skills and treated his fans to a barrage of Instagram photos which capture the mayhem.”

One of the photos was captioned “Yup, this happened.” Lambert seemed to enjoy the entire thing, including Arquette dancing alongside other performers.

But it was no coincidence that Arquette was at the club.

“The 41-year-old is a co-owner of Bootsy Bellows, a Rat Pack-esque nightclub he opened during the summer,” said the Huffington Post. “The hotspot has attracted the likes of Katy Perry, Lindsay Lohan and Robert Pattinson.”

Arquette was proud of his accomplishment as well. Later, he tweeted: “I've got video to prove it haha! @LAMBERTLUST@newnownext @adamlambert.”

Lambert also used the opportunity of some pretty steamy Instagram photos to promote a good cause. Along with the photos, he urged fans to donate $31 to the We Are Family Foundation. The organization’s goal is to empower youth.

The call to action for Lambert’s birthday has already raised tens of thousands of dollars.

Arquette, the former Mr. Courteney Cox, has been staying busy lately. He's been working on a TV series, Jake and the Never Land Pirates, for the last two years, as well as having four movies in the works.

Lambert will be honored at the We Are Family gala on Jan. 31, where he will also be a performer alongside founder Nile Rodgers.

Champagne isn't just for drinking anymore. This year, woo your loved one with this multicourse Champagne feast, where the world's most romantic bubbly is a key ingredient in each recipe

Linguine with Shrimp and Champagne Buerre Blanc

There are few ingredients more seductive than Champagne. Setting out the sparkly instantly sets a romantic mood, so why not extend that to an entire meal built around it?

Start out with a round of enticing Champagne cocktails, like Champagne dreams with pomegranate and orange liqueur to add tang and sweetness. Or, for something more subtle and classic, try an Angostura Bitters Champagne cocktail with a sugar cube to make the bubbly even fizzier.

Get the lowdown on the health benefits of Champagne>>

champagne

Two aphrodisiacs in one dish make for the ultimate Valentine's Day appetizer, as in mussels steamed in Champagne. They already make the perfect pairing, so cooking them together is a match made in heaven.

To add a touch of Champagne to your salad, pick up a bottle of Champagne vinegar for the dressing. Made from Champagne or Champagne grapes, it offers the same elegant flavor that can imbue even a green salad with romance. Try Champagne, tarragon and Dijon dressing, or a divine spinach, sun-dried tomato and roasted cashew salad with Champagne vinaigrette to start off the meal.

For the main course, impress your loved one with linguine with shrimp and Champagne buerre blanc . It's quick and easy to make but feels celebratory, giving you less time in the kitchen and more time to romance your partner.

Of course a romantic meal isn't complete without dessert! For something cute and sweet, try pink Champagne cupcakes, where Champagne is incorporated into both the batter and the icing. Or, for a refreshing palate cleanser, whip up some Champagne citrus sorbet in your ice cream maker ahead of time.

Linguine with shrimp and Champagne buerre blanc recipe

Serves 2

Ingredients:

For the Champagne buerre blanc:

  • 3 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 1 cup Champagne
  • 3/4 stick cold butter, cut into 2-inch cubes
  • Salt and pepper

For the linguine and shrimp:

  • 1/2 pound fresh linguine
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 shallot, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/4 cup Champagne
  • Chopped parsley, for garnish

Directions:

  1. Make the Champagne buerre blanc: Combine the shallots and Champagne in a skillet over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil and, stirring occasionally, reduce to a glaze. Whisk in cold butter cubes a few at a time until sauce is thickened slightly. Set aside.
  2. Cook the pasta in boiling water until al dente. Drain and return to the pot. Pour the Champagne butter sauce over the pasta and toss to combine. Set aside.
  3. Heat the butter in the same skillet you've used and add the shallots and garlic; cook until just softened, about 3 minutes.
  4. Add the shrimp and saute until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and deglaze the pan with the Champagne. Stir once and transfer the entire contents to the pasta pot. Toss to combine.
  5. Serve the linguine and shrimp in shallow bowls and top with chopped parsley.

Roseanne Barr to guest on The Office

The final season of The Office is grinding to a halt, and a familiar face is on hand to help nail the coffin shut.

Roseanne Barr to star on The Office

Roseanne Barr, long absent from network sitcoms, makes a return to television comedy with a guest role helping to wind up the last season of The Office.

NBC said that Barr will be Carla Fern, a talent agent who agrees to take on office manager Andy Barnard as a client as he tries to make the jump from business to the boards.

Office watchers will remember that Barnard was always a bit of a wannabe, taking on various performance gigs from his a cappella group Here Comes Treble to a local theater staging of Sweeney Todd.

NBC didn't say whether Barr will be on hand for the series finale. NBC execs have already let drop that a long-running cast member will be fired in Episode 15, due to air Feb. 14. Could it be Andy, cut loose from The Office for good?

Mindy Kaling returning for The Office finale?>>

The Office showrunner Greg Daniels told the entertainment press in January that Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak will return for the one-hour finale; Steve Carell, however, will not: "Steve is very much of the opinion that the 'Goodbye Michael' episode and the story arc that we did leading up to it was his goodbye and end to the show and that [this season] is the goodbye the rest of the show gets to have," reported Splitsider.

Ken Kwapis, who directed The Office's pilot, will also return for the finale. You may know Kwapis' other work, like a little show called Freaks and Geeks. He also directed some of the best Office episodes, like 2006's "Gay Witch Hunt," in which we learn Oscar is gay.

Barr, who briefly returned to television with the somewhat-beloved-but-canceled Roseanne's Nuts, has been doing a stand-up comedy act in Vegas of late. She'll be at the Tropicana Laugh Factory for a bunch of dates in February.

It’s the big day and you and your husband can’t wait to blend into the couch with a bag of chips and a cold beer and watch the game and the commercials . But what about your children who you know won’t want to watch this NFL showdown?

Game day play

Not to worry, the kids will have plenty of fun games of their own to play on Super Bowl Sunday!

Game room

Designate a room in your house and fill it with tons of game options. From video games to pin the football on the field goal, the kids will be entertained for hours so you can be focused on how many touchdowns your team is scoring and take in all of the commercials without interruption.

Pin the Football game

Tweens: Set up the Xbox, the Wii, Nintendo or all of the above. Once the consoles are turned on, you won't hear from your child again for hours!

Little kids: Play football bingo. There are tons of free printables available online or you can make your own. Get the kids in on the action and let them help design the cards and think up the prizes. You can even make the bingo chips edible like professional photographer and blogger, Michelle DuPuis did.

Toddlers: Play pin the football on the field goal. DuPuis and her husband designed their own game using painter's tape and construction paper. Blindfold your child, spin her around and let her try to pin the football between the goal posts. Any football that makes it between the uprights earned a prize.

7 Fun kids' party games>>

Halftime show

Call on your little performers to put on their own halftime show for you. Beyonce is the star of this year's Super Bowl halftime show, so challenge your children to come up with an act that is centered around her music. This activity is sure to keep them occupied during the first half of the game as they practice their performance and also during the second half when they prepare for their encore! Get your video camera ready as your children's rendition of "All The Single Ladies" is sure to be even more entertaining than Beyonce's!

Tweens: Your tween can be the manager, the choreographer, the lead singer or all of the above. From lip syncing to actual singing, you're sure to be entertained by any performance your children think up.

Little kids and toddlers: The little kids and toddlers can be your tween's back-up dancers, singers or musicians. They can also help design the set and decide on the costumes.

Football trivia

From easy to hard, think up a wide range of trivia questions so children of all ages can play. You can either focus the ideas around this year's Super Bowl, which will make it more of a guessing game Or you can ask about past Super Bowls or football in general. Ideas for questions you can ask:

  • What is the number of this year's Super Bowl?
  • What are each team's colors?
  • Who are the quarterbacks for each team?
  • Who is performing during the halftime show?
  • How many points do you receive for a touchdown?
  • What is a two-point conversion?
  • How many yards is the length of the football field?
  • What is an interception?
  • True or false: has won a previous Super Bowl.

Private Practice and other finales we cried over

$

With 30 Rock's swan song set to air tomorrow night, we can't help but feel emotional about some of the great shows we've had to bid adieu to in the past year. Starting with last week's closing episode of Private Practice, we revisit the recent finales that got us all choked up.

Taye Diggs on the Series Premiere of Private PracticePrivate Practice

When Dr. Addison Montgomery — played by Kate Walsh — defected from Seattle Grace Hospital on Grey’s Anatomy, we were dubious. First of all, she cheated on McDreamy and was walking away from McSteamy… clearly the woman was unhinged in a major way. Surprisingly enough, though, it didn’t take long to get sucked in to her sunny West Coast spin off, Private Practice. Partially because Kate played the character with a charming vulnerability, but mostly because we had an excuse to stare at Taye Diggs for an hour every week. Last week’s finale had us reaching for the Kleenex as Naomi and Sam reunited and remarried, Charlotte and Coop adjusted to life with triplets, Addison and Jake made it down the aisle and Violet finished her second book — tentatively titled Private Practice, natch!

Canceled: Private Practice is a goner>>

Hugh Laurie and Olivia Wilde on Season 4 of HouseHouse

We wouldn’t necessarily want to run into Dr. House — acerbically depicted by Hugh Laurie— in the ER. Granted, he’d probably pinpoint the elusive source of whatever life-threatening ailment was plaguing us, thereby saving our lives. To get to that point, though, well, who knows what the cranky old bastard might say or do? Despite the doc's curmudgeonly ways and penchant for popping pills, he grew on us over eight seasons of the hit show House with his sharp tongue, dazzling medical diagnoses and — yes — even his neuroses. In the end, more than 8 million fans tuned in to attend what they thought was the arrogant character's funeral… only to watch him ride off into the sunset with Wilson, vowing to make the most of his terminally-ill friend’s final five months. Aww, House does have a heart... and he didn’t pull it out of someone else’s chest!

House finale pulls the old bait and switch>>

Chace Crawford and Blake Lively on the Gossip Girl SetGossip Girl

It gave us “It” girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester. It gave us eye-candy guys Chace Crawford and Penn Badgley. But what Gossip Girl really gave us was a guilty pleasure dose of drama once a week. The CW series followed the lives of a clique of Manhattan’s upper crust: young socialites Serena, Blair, Dan, Chuck, Nate and all their cohorts. When the series finale aired in December, our jaws dropped upon learning Dan had been the nasty blogger behind Gossip Girl all six seasons. As illogical as that plot line was, the producers made it up to us by serving up a string of happy endings: Chuck and Blair got hitched and bore a perfect son, Dan and Serena ultimately married as well and Nate was happily running The Spectator... and so on and so forth. Like a younger, more vapid version of Sex and the City, Gossip Girl delivered a tidy Tiffany box of love, lust, intrigue and lots o’ couture. Tear*!

Gossip Girl recap: Spoiler alert! We know her identity>>

Dirty Jobs Host Mike RoweDirty Jobs with Mike Rowe

After eight stomach-wrenching seasons of watching host Mike Rowe wade through muck and smell ungodly things, we had to say goodbye to Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs in September of last year. Why, you may be asking, would we mourn the loss of a show on which the host cleans fish grinders and disposes of biohazardous medical waste? Well, this one’s purely selfish: We have a huge crush on Mike Rowe. If you — like so many of us — were a fan of the show, you undoubtedly understand why. Not many men would be able to make catching feral chickens look good, but Rowe did. Plus, he’s insanely funny! We dare you to attempt watching seasons past without laughing so hard you cry.

30 Rock finale: Jack McBrayer talks his final days

Who will you miss more after 30 Rock ends: Liz, Jack, Tracy or Kenneth? If your answer is Kenneth, you're going to like this juice.

Jack McBrayer talks about 30 Rock finale

As the 30 Rock finale looms ever closer, XfinityTV.com got the chance to chat with Jack McBrayer, the actor who plays the adorably loving and somewhat idiotic page on 30 Rock.

The comedian admitted that things always felt tenuous on the show, so to a certain extent he'd been preparing for the end since the very beginning.

"To be honest, we never expect it to last this long," he told Xfinity. "We realized we were underdogs and had to keep proving ourselves. Even after the pilot, I remember thinking, 'This might be it. It's the last time I'll ever see these people. Enjoy the yogurt-covered pretzels at the craft service table because you may never see those again either."

Jack McBrayer talks about 30 Rock finale

When the end finally came, though, things were different and the room was definitely flooded with emotion.

"People were crying all the time for the two or three weeks leading up to shooting them and I remember feeling this sense of closure, that it really was the end," McBrayer described. "People got emotional over different things. Jane Krakowski was crying because she hated her wardrobe... just kidding!"

The emotional outbursts were scattered because most people didn't know which scenes were their last for the show. McBrayer told Xfinity that they shot the final episodes like a movie, out of order, and left it to editing to put them in their final spots. It wasn't until later that anyone knew exactly how the final episode would turn out. Tears were also probably brought on by all the gift giving on set as friends said goodbye. Aside from gifts between castmates, the crew also gave out gifts to the cast.

"We also got some goody bags with fake props we used over the years," McBrayer explained to Xfinity. "I got some Stone Mountain mementos, since that was where Kenneth was from. And a few days ago, I got an NBC page jacket in the mail. It was a nice little piece of Kenneth memorabilia. Plus, I can wear it to my job interviews at several restaurants in town. I do hope my path will cross again with everyone I worked with on 30 Rock but I could use the jacket to look good when I’m clearing away Jane Krakowski’s martini glass."

Aww! We're sure Jack McBrayer is on his way to even bigger and better things. However, if by chance you're in a restaurant and you think you're being waited on by Kenneth the page, please remember to tip!

Brooke Hogan thinks it's just fine for her dad to tweet photos of her body, and she's ready to take on anybody who feels differently.

Brooke Hogan in a silver dress

Hulk Hogan isn't a "perv" or "creepy" like those Twitter users say — he's just proud!

"A dad can't even be proud of his daughter without sickos makin it something it's not," tweeted an angry Brooke Hogan after respondents criticized a photo Hulk tweeted of Brooke lying back in a chair with the caption "Brooke's legs."

Yeah, Brooke! It's totally normal for a dad to invite a universe of Twitter users to admire your daughter's legs!

Here's a newsflash: While it is extremely normal for a dad to be proud of his daughter, usually a dad would want to tweet, oh, a graduation picture. Or a wedding picture. Or, in fact, any picture at all where the focus wasn't on her body parts.

Most dads would want to tweet pictures of their daughter's face rather than their legs, but hey.

The second part of Brooke's tweet was even more head-scratching: "Go back to your farm animals. #ignorant."

Did Hulk Hogan have a gay fling?>>

Um, farm animals? Whoa.

Hulk Hogan, a former WWE wrestling champ and reality star, has been taken to task before for giving his daughter an unsettling brand of affection. In 2008 a photo of Hulk applying suntan lotion to his then 18-year-old daughter's bikini'd butt caused internet disgust.

Michael K of Dlisted pointed out then that Hulk's girlfriend, who was with Hulk and Brooke at the pool where the infamous lotion pictures were snapped, was wearing a similar bikini to Brooke's.

"Hulk probably got confused on which skank he was rubbing down," snarked Michael K.

Brooke defended her dad in 2008 too, telling Us she didn't have a problem with the photo.

"I know I'm a grown woman, but it's like he's touching an old car," she said.

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that kids should visit a pediatric dentist when their first tooth comes in or by their first birthday. Our checklist will help you pick the best pediatric dentist to fit you and your family’s dental needs.

Toddler at dentist

Finding a pediatric dentist that takes good care of your child's teeth while making the experience relaxed and fun sets the stage for a lifetime of healthy teeth. Use our checklist to help you find the right dentist for your family.

Finding pediatric dentists

Where can you find a pediatric dentist and how can you be sure they have the right training?

  • Ask for recommendations from friends and family.
  • Ask for a referral from your pediatrician.
  • Search local websites or magazines for recommendations.
  • You will find pediatric dentists working in medical centers, private practices and dental schools.
  • Ask about training: A pediatric dentist has two additional years of residency training for babies, kids, teens and kids with special needs.
  • The AAPD has a great pediatric dentist search tool to help you find a dentist in your area.

Care provided to your child

Your child will see a pediatric dentist from infancy through adolescence. Here is what kind of care you can expect:

  • Oral exams and risk assessment for cavities for infants.
  • Knowledge of dealing with dental habits, such as thumb sucking, teeth grinding or pacifier use.
  • Repair of tooth cavities or other tooth defects.
  • Preventive dental care, including cleaning, sealants and fluoride treatment.
  • Assessment of normal tooth development.
  • Assessment of the need for orthodontics to straighten teeth or correct improper bite.
  • Manage and prevent gum diseases, including periodontal disease and gingivitis.
  • Manage dental and oral conditions, including short frenulae and ulcers.
  • Care of knocked-out teeth, fractured teeth or displaced teeth.

Parent and child education

It is important your dentist and his/her staff educate you and your child on proper dental care at home. Your pediatric dentist should talk to you about the following:

  • Education on how diet and drinks affect teeth.
  • Educating parents on the proper care of infant or baby teeth.
  • Educating kids and teens on the proper care of teeth.
  • Demonstration on the proper way to brush and floss.
  • Education on the proper handling of knocked-out teeth or fractured teeth.
  • Education for the parents on when they can expect their child's permanent teeth to come in.

Atmosphere

The pediatric dentist offices should be catering to children, with colorful paint and hands-on toys in the waiting room to make the experience fun. Your dentist should also come across as friendly and welcoming.

  • Is the dentist office kid-friendly?
  • Are the instruments appropriate for your child's mouth?
  • Is the office staff friendly and accessible?
  • Is the dentist friendly and accessible?
  • Do the dentist and staff explain to your child what to expect?
  • Is the atmosphere friendly and positive?
  • How does your dentist respond to a scared or crying child?

Is arming teachers the answer?

Any discussion involving firearms is bound to get heated. Whether you are a gun owner or a gun control advocate, recent media coverage of gun-related crimes has left parents concerned about taking their children to locations that were once considered safe.

Is the solution to arm educators?

Some discussions focus on the idea of teachers having access to firearms in the classroom to protect themselves and their students. The topic is polarizing but unfortunately relevant.

A different world

There’s no question that kids today live in a vastly different world than the one in which we grew up. With dangers lurking seemingly everywhere, the classroom was once one of the safest places we could send them. But some parents are understandably feeling a little apprehensive about sending their kids off to school each day. In light of the unfathomable tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, many possible "solutions" are bandied about on news shows, in school board meetings and at the family dinner table. One suggestion, giving teachers access to firearms in the classroom, has sparked an intense parental debate.

The heart of the matter

For some, arming educators avoids the true issues that parents are facing today. "It makes me sad that instead of trying to address the availability of semi-automatic and automatic weapons, and the mental health crisis in our country, we would consider arming our teachers with weapons," says Kelly, a mom from California. "What about the kids that might want to do something and didn't have a means before and could now access that teacher’s weapon? All of it scares me and I am sad that my kids’ school experience will be much different than mine."

Do you ask other parents if they have guns in their homes?>>

A can of worms

"The reality is there are sick people in this world."

While parents trust teachers to educate their children, plenty of parents want to avoid the potential problems that could surface should teachers be allowed to carry firearms. "What if a teacher lost her mind and chooses to use it on a child out of frustration?" asks Jennie, a New Mexico mom. "I don't think this is likely, but I also couldn't imagine someone thinking it is a good idea to go into a school and shoot innocent children. The reality is there are sick people in this world. I support making schools more safe by securing the perimeters of each school so that visitors are forced to enter through a monitored entrance and an armed guard is on duty during all school hours."

The smart thing to do

Deterrence is a big component in keeping our kids safe. Some parents believe that arming teachers would deter criminals from causing future tragedies in schools.

"It seems that it would be impossible to make teachers house a firearm in the classroom..."

"I am a firm believer that in any given circumstance, if one person is considering an armed crime, he or she would give great thought with the knowledge that the majority of people are likely to be carrying a weapon," says Kenny, a California parent.

"It seems that it would be impossible to make teachers house a firearm in the classroom, much less expect them to use it. It is not their job, per se, to put their lives at risk to save our children — regardless of whether you or I would do it on principle alone. Making it part of a job description is wrong, but allowing a teacher to give himself or herself the best possible chance to do so seems just plain smart."

What to do when education becomes violent>>

On the front lines

Should a parent put herself in the shoes of a teacher today, she would probably find that educating is just a part of the daily responsibilities. Sadly, teachers may find themselves having to protect their students and themselves. "I definitely feel comfortable with armed guards at a school and I’m comfortable allowing teachers to have access to a firearm in case of an emergency but only after extensive training," says Erica, a mom in Wyoming. "Of course, not every teacher will feel confident using a gun and they definitely should not be asked to do so, but it makes sense to give teachers a chance to stop extreme school violence. Unfortunately, it seems they are on the front lines."

Tyler Perry's generous ways have backfired. While an occasion such as Oprah Winfrey's birthday requires a lavish gift, we're not sure bragging about something so extravagant it hurt the recipient is good form.

Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry wants you to know that his birthday gifts are so grand they're dangerous.

Sharing with Facebook fans that the mighty bush he bestowed on Oprah Winfrey did more harm than good, he shouted on Facebook Wednesday, "I FEEL SO BAD."

Caps-lock key off, the message from Tyler Perry humble bragged, "I like to send really large flower arrangements to people for whatever occasion."

"Well, I sent one to Oprah yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No joke!"

Wishing the now-injured birthday girl well, he added, "Feel better Oprah. Happy birthday. Sorry. :-"

Thousands of comments have since been left on Tyler Perry's Facebook page, which boasts over 8 million fans.

Oprah, the celebrity whisperer: Did they really just say that?>>

Responding Tuesday to one Twitter user who said she looked "old as hell" on Oprah's Next Chapter, the media maven inquired, "Old as Hell? Really?"

Kendra Wilkinson is mourning the loss of Mary O'Connor. Though she was known to many as Hugh Hefner's secretary at the Playboy Mansion, the former Girls Next Door star insists there's more to remember.

Kendra Wilkinson

Kendra Wilkinson is devastated by the loss of "mansion mom" Mary O'Connor. In a blog post published Wednesday, the former girlfriend of Hugh Hefner remembered the late secretary, who worked at the Playboy Mansion for over 40 years.

"She was almost like a therapist because we could talk to her about anything," Kendra Wilkinson wrote of Mary O'Connor, adding, "She was a shoulder to cry on when I needed it and always there to give me advice when I was going through a tough time."

Kendra Wilkinson's uneven tatas the talk of Twitter>>

Reflecting back on good times shared through the years, the now-married Wilkinson continued:

"I have so many great memories of Mary. She always invited me to her home for Monday night card games with her and her girlfriends but I would end up watching football with her husband Captain Bob instead.

"Mary also brought me along to her favorite getaway place, Branson, Missouri, which I will never forget. I felt so special that she invited me to her getaway with her and it was so nice to see where she went away to."

Mary O'Connor, who died Sunday at the age of 84, not only threw Kendra's baby shower, but put her own spin on the star's 2009 bridal shower.

The 27-year-old explained, "One of my favorite memories of her that I'll never forget is when she showed up at my bridal shower wearing a shower cap, while all of my friends were in risqué outfits."

Bridget Marquardt froze her eggs for Hugh Hefner>>

Hugh Hefner, 86, added his own words of condolences on Twitter after she passed, writing, "Mary passed away today. We loved her more than words can say."

Bridget Marquardt, also a Girls Next Door veteran, told Celebuzz, "Every morning Holly Madison and I would go down to her office and talk to her about everything. So she was always there for us to vent or just to help us out."

"She was a wonderful person and I wouldn't be the person I am without her," Kendra Wilkinson's heartfelt blog post about Mary O'Connor concluded.

Paris Hilton's "simple life"

Paris Hilton hit Barcelona, Spain, to support her model boyfriend River Viiperi as he walked down the runway in the couture shows this week. This newfound quietude suits the former tabloid star.

ParisHiltonRiverViiperi

Did you ever think the words quiet and Paris Hilton would be uttered in the same sentence? Well, the former tabloid queen has made her very public life a little more private these days since she's been dating her much younger boyfriend, 21-year-old Spanish model River Viiperi.

The couple began dating in September and ever since, the young model's career has really taken off. The two were recently spotted in Barcelona, Spain, this week while Viiperi hit the runway for several couture fashion shows.

Normally, the paparazzi would expect Hilton to hit the red carpet before the shows, but even with her front row seat, she slipped into the show discreetly on Monday night.

The old Paris would have had every lens aimed at her; the new Paris wanted the attention to be on her boyfriend.

Could it be that the 31-year-old socialite has finally grown up? Her former tabloid peers seemed to have settled down, with pals like Nicole Richie now a wife and mother of two, and Kim Kardashian currently pregnant with Kanye West's baby.

Or perhaps the couple learned their lesson after Viiperi's Las Vegas arrest last fall and Hilton's gay slur debacle? Either way, their newfound peace seems to suit both of them very well, so let's hope they can stay out of trouble.

Even with a growing relationship, Hilton continues to focus on her business ventures abroad where she continues to be a global brand. She opened her 42nd store in Saudi Arabia last November which sells upscale accessories.
